i really wanna know how long camila's "is my daughter having sex with her... whatever hunter is" can go on. does she start wondering if amity is involved in that too? does she end up with the confusion of "well they definitely all go off to bed together sometimes but amity and hunter really don't seem like they're sleeping together. maybe this is evidence that nothing's going on that i should be worried about? hopefully? i mean not that there'd be anything wrong with that if there was they're all adults and i have no right to try and parent luz after everything but. agh."
god, i want it to go on forever, i love it so much. i think i've talked briefly before about how camila is way more open-minded than one might initially expect: she's already spedrun the queer polyamorous daughter thing with vee and knows nonbinary n trans people like masha. she's read weird alien romances with unconventional relationship structures. she's been to pride multiple times. she could probably kiss a woman if the opportunity arose. ally of the century!
so it's not even that she's questioning IF there's something going on. she just assumes there is. and the question then is whether the kids know how to be safe. which is much less clear cut!
god, can you imagine hunter and amity getting into a genuine fight in front of her. they may not have tried to kill each other recently but they Do both still default to solving interpersonal problems by pummeling each other. camila like I SUDDENLY HAVE OTHER SAFETY CONCERNS THAT I WOULD LIKE ADDRESSED-
camila might straight-up ask about amity, though. since her place in all this seems less clear-cut. very solid potential for luz to panic because she's still convinced that amity is afraid of her and might hate her guts, & so she's like "ohhh no hahaha it's not like that!! no no i'd never ask that of amity" while amity is like "oh yeah. us?? dating?? Ha Ha :("

Some Hazbin Hotel Head Canons I have:
Pt.2
Alastor was both a moonshiner and bootlegger when he was alive. He would have been in his prime during Prohibition, and the hoof prints on his shoes were actually common among bootleggers. They were used to trick police that might try to track them by their footprints.
Those shoes are why he was mistaken by a hunter for a deer. The hunter was tracking the hoof prints.
Mimzys club was a speakeasy, and she was fully aware of Alastor being a serial killer. She used to provide alibis for him when he was alive, which is a reason he covers for and protects her now in their afterlife.
Angel and Husk probably crossed paths in life, but are completely unaware of it. Husk was born and raised in Las Vegas, and the mob was very heavily involved with running most of the casinos. Angel being a mafia son, would have definitely been in Vegas a fair amount before his death.
Sir Pentious used to be seen as a very powerful and dangerous Overlord. Then technology and electronics were introduced, making his steampunk innovation style outdated and people started to see him as a joke. He tried to keep up with the times, but it very bad at it and doesn't understand modern things.
The reason Vox has so many aquatic things and likes sharks, is thematic. The envy ring is aquatic and Vox is a very jealous and possessive person.
Valentino uses his saliva and smoke to make people more pliable and willing to agree with him, this also includes Vox. This is partly how they got together, because Valentino saw Vox as a way to further himself and grow his own power.
Nifftys Soul isn't actually owned by Alastor. She sticks with him because of mutual benefit for the both of them. He's also such a bad boy that she's drawn to being around him and helping him with his schemes.
Husk lost his soul because Alastor made him play an honest game, while Husk was a notorious card shark. The little gold token on Husk's hat is the dealers chip from their game as a reminder.
Husk was not a nice overlord. His redemption is going to rely on him admitting how bad he was in the past and accepting himself as a changed person.
Charlie is the only one who still doesn't realise Alastor is a cannibal. Which is why she was surprised he had a friend in Cannibal Town.
Lucifer knew full well who Alastor was, he was just being an ass. He correctly assumed that implying Alastor was a nobody or not important was the biggest insult he could throw at him.
Angel Dust is always broke. This is partly because before coming to the hotel he was renting an apartment from Valentino with ridiculous rent, and he's still working/paying off his debt.
Before meeting Valentino, Angel was more mafia with his brother. They had a very turbulent relationship, since they weren't very close when they were alive due to Arakniss being more Conservative and serious like their father. They have barely spoken since Angel became a famous porn star, and Angel just assumes that Niss now hates him for being 'an embaressment'.
Part of the reason Angel let Valentino take his soul and lead him to where he is now, is because Val was the only/first person to really encourage Angel's more feminine side and sexuality, and find it attractive. He fell hard for the love bombing, and then had a very rude awakening once Valentino no longer needed to play nice.
Fat nuggets is very special to Angel. He was never allowed pets, and despite him being one of Vals love bombing presents, it reminds him of how happy he was before he learnt the truth about why Val was so loving to him.

An ask for hopefully fun distraction purposes: What are your favorite Megop dynamics to read about or play with when you write?
Since I'm an IDW MegOP enjoyer first and foremost, I really like fics that reverse the usual IDW MOP dynamic (Megatron goads, Optimus chases and reacts) and have Megatron be the one that has incredibly strong horny/obsessive feelings towards Optimus, while Optimus is the one that's more reserved and won't let Megatron get a taste of him until he feels the time is right aslkdlfjksd. I think, especially for IDW, it's easy to get caught up in how devoted Optimus is, in the way that Megatron is the center of Optimus' life both in terms of the war and in terms of making him the person he became, and that relentless belief in the best person Megatron can be. But I really, really like it when that dynamic is reversed: where Megatron is the one that's devoted to Optimus, seeks his attention, feels like he's an inseparable part of his life, etc. Compounded by the fact that the fandom as a whole tends to treat Optimus as a flat character and treats Megatron/whoever OP is being shipped with as more of an individual with depth, with OP just being a trophy husband basically
In general, it's really important for me to maintain their relationship with a push and pull dynamic and to be centered on mutual respect, whether that's through characterization, dialogue, or the usual PWP/kink dynamics. Especially when I get to play with it in the last case, fucking around with underappreciated things like dom bottom/submissive top, switching in general. I'm also a big fan (semi related to the first point) of emotionally constipated Optimus with Megatron being the emotional one trying to reach out. So like.... basically the opposite of what the most popular MOP dynamics are aksldfjlksdlkf
I haven't really written this outside of AEFMB (the BATB AU), but I think interactions between miner!Megatron and Prime!Optimus are suuuuper underrated. I know IDW MOP got canon Autobot Megatron + prewar Orion thanks to the Functionist Universe, but how come no one writes the other way around? It's so cool to imagine, especially since IDW is one of the rare continuities where Megatron began as the shy/unimposing/humble one and Orion/Optimus is a confident jock superhero who already has his own squad of outlaws (and, in the case of prewar M + wartime OP, a literal fucking army). Enough casting Megatron as the hardened/jaded veteran fighter with OP as the sheltered nerd. Give me some shit with OP being the more experienced one and M being the one who needs to come into his own to match him. (And yeah, TF One helped satisfy this urge lol)
Megatron being the Optimus apologist/going "I can fix him," whether it's good guy Megatron (a la MTMTE, Earthspark) supporting Optimus/not wanting him to go down a dark path, or whether it's evil Megatron going "I can corrupt him." Actually, MOP has WAY too little corruption arc action going on. I mean, I understand why, but what the hell is a hero/villain ETL ship without at least one moment where the villain goes "Join me, we would be unstoppable together, please we could basically be married and rule the universe." IDW MOP in particular doesn't have that pre-war friendship dynamic that would tempt M into giving such an offer to OP, but I like the idea of some scenario where M wants to offer anyways. Like I said in the first point, literally just give me a MOP story where Megatron is the one who's horny/desperate/longing for Optimus and Optimus is the skeptical, tsundere one that needs to be persuaded into it.
#squiggle answers#megop#i think that's basically all of the dynamics i can think of#i've mentioned some of these in other asks before I think

"Another theoretical path for Zoe would be to let Chloe redeem Zoe. We know that Zoe was a massive liar in the past."
If I understood your pov about a Chloe redemption and how Lilia neither has reason to be on the show: if you had to use a character for Chloe to redeem, and kinda serve both as a foil for her and a lesson for Adrien's character growth, it wouldn't be Zoe, but Lila?
*sighs* You bring so many good points on the characters' writing that I can't beleive how many "repeated" characters the show has! Would you consider Socqueline another innecessary character?
(Post this was in reference to for Zoe and for Lila)
It's not shocking that the show has "repeated" characters. It's a school drama with 21 teen heroes in the canon cast (24 if we count the special characters). It's damn near impossible to give that many characters a unique role in the story unless you're dealing with extremely complex plots a la Game of Thrones where it's less one large cast in a single story and more smaller casts in mini stories that all intermingle. If you look at something like GoT, you'll notice that, while the overall cast is massive, each mini story has a more normal sized cast and those smaller groups only come together after they're extremely well established. Miraculous could have done something like that with each member of the class getting a mini arc that focused on them, but it didn't, so the cast is basically a uniform blob.
Zoe, Chloe, & Lila
Before we talk about Socqueline, I wanted to quickly make some comments on Zoe and Lila. If I had to have Chloe redeem someone to show off her new skills post redemption, then I'd have it be Sabrina. If Sabrina is off the table, then I'd pick Zoe. If Zoe is off the table, only then would I look to Lila because why use Lila when you have Chloe's best friend and sister as options? That's far more compelling than some random girl no one knew before this year and who no one is connected to. Even the Zoe route is questionable since she's so underdeveloped right now. Both her and Lila would need major work to be fully functional characters and I personally have no interest in doing that work since I don't feel like it adds enough value to canon.
I will note that Lila and Zoe actually had potential to be an interesting contrast to each other since they're both liars. Redeeming one and damning the other works far better than doing the same narrative with Lila and Chloe since Lila and Zoe have the same core problem while Lila and Chloe have nothing in common to the point where canon has to retcon in Chloe having a Marinette obsession so that the Chloe and Lila team up made sense.
Similarly, if you damn Chloe, redeeming Zoe could have been interesting. You could even redeem her and then, though her, save Chloe since Zoe hasn't suffered from Chloe anywhere near as much as the rest of the cast. That and their sibling status makes Zoe a decent choice for the person who changes Chloe's heart just like the Zoe's backstory feels like a good contrast to Chloe's canon story.
Zoe is introduced right after Chloe supposedly proved she didn't want to change (for this post, we're pretending people actually tried to help Chloe and failed). That should mean that everyone is really freaking wary of the new girl who shows manipulative tendencies while also claiming that she wants to change. That could have led to an arc showing how you know when someone does want to change and how to navigate that.
I don't think Zoe is a great candidate for that since she's a total stranger who no one but Chloe has any reason to care about, but it would have done something to make the people in canon actually learn the supposed redemption lesson we're currently missing. As-is, Marinette just randomly believes in Zoe right from the start and Zoe is good basically right from the start, showing that Chloe's betrayal meant nothing to the cast and driving home that Marinette's first impressions of people are basically always right. Adrien seems to be the only exception.
Socqueline
Socqueline is a totally pointless character who I would never have included. It's not that she's bad in and of herself, it's that she once again adds nothing to the cast that wasn't already there. She is Origins Alya on steroids. She's here to protect Marinette from Chloe and inspire Marinette to be brave and that's about it. Why she needed to do that when Alya is supposed to have that role is anyone's guess.
If anything, Socqueline undermines Alya since we now know that Marinette had an amazing best friend before Alya came around! Socqueline was willing to fight Chloe even before Chloe randomly mellowed out into a nicer person because seasons one-to-three Chloe has nothing on Derision Chloe. Even seasons four and five Chloe aren't as bad as Derision Chloe. This show has no idea what it's doing.

I think I started following you for TK and Carlos, but you're now one of my main sources of Buck and Eddie as well (because despite having never watched 911 I know who they are lol). And I honestly have become increasingly confused as to whether Buck and Eddie are actually together?? I know one of them is bisexual... but like... are they cannon? It is just a ship? What's their deal???
Oh my dear sweet summer child. You have opened a can of worms. Also, if you’re getting OG info from me then you’re getting a very narrow view.
BUT
Short answer: Buck and Eddie are not canon in terms of being in a romantic or sexual relationship.
However…what’s their deal? I’m glad you asked.
So it all started in season one, when 25 year old Evan Buckley was a hot mess express stealing fire trucks for hook ups with girls.
He then met a dispatcher almost twice his age named Abby who stalked him a little bit and he nearly died choking on a piece of bread but since our sweet summer child has both mommy and daddy issues he imprinted on her hard like a baby duckling
Her mom, who she had been taking care, of died and she went to Europe and promised she’d be back and left Buck staying in her house. (She would not be back gentle reader. But don’t worry it will come back around why this is important)
Season two starts up with a pining Buck and the entry of Eddie Diaz
This is literally our intro to him. Also What a Man is canonically playing as the soundtrack as Buck first lays eyes on him.
They speedrun enemies (onsided) to besties in a single episode.
Eddie has a son, Christoper.
Chris has CP and Eddie moved him to LA because this is where Chris’s mom ran away to when she left them.
Buck also imprints on Eddie and Chris, immediately helping them and getting Chris a home health aid. His sister jokes that he has a man crush and will finally maybe get over Abby. Eddie tries to get back with his ex-wife but she both neither wants to be a wife or a mom and is going to leave them again but gets hit by a car and dies.
And Buck and Eddie and Chris become increasingly more codependent.
Buck nearly gets crushed under a fire truck and can’t come back to work and babysits Chris during shifts and they almost die in a Tsunami and Buck thinks he did a bad job taking care if Chris but Eddie says there’s no one he would trust with his son more.
Buck tries to come back to work but he’s got blood clotting issues from nearly getting crushed by a fire truck and is bared from returning and therefore sues the department for wrongful termination (even though he wasn’t actually terminated he just couldn’t return to active duty). Then he couldn’t speak to anyone from the firehouse which led to the divorced dads era.
Angry, bitter fight in a grocery store with their coworkers ensues. Don’t worry it all works out and we go back to coparenting like normal.
Our boys are both unsuccessfully dating women and the queerbaiting accusations get tossed around. They are unfounded because 1. The show is written by queer people and 2. There have always been gay characters as main and recurring characters. They just all happen to be black. (See racism, lesbian erasure, and 911)
Things are going great until Eddie gets shot at work by a sniper right in Buck’s face.
It was highly traumatizing. Buck saves Eddie and Eddie is in a coma and Buck has to tell Chris and take care of him, you know, like a dad. Everyone points out he’s basically Chris’s other dad, not Eddie’s girlfriend who is also around sort of.
Buck confesses to Eddie when Eddie wakes from the coma that he wishes it was him that had gotten shot and died which is when Eddie reveals that would be really fucking dumb because Buck is who Eddie wants to take Chris if he dies.
Anywho. Everyone keeps dating women. Buck almost dies a few more times, and gets struck by lighting has an interesting coma carol and is obsessed with death. They remain co-parents of an adorable son.
Enter season seven and Tommy comes back into our lives. In the beginning it’s hard to see who he’s for, Buck or Eddie or just as a device. But he’s for Buck! There was rejoicing. Bi!Buck was no longer headcanon!
Buck comes out as bi, because you know, he thought it was normal for the first 32 years of his life that men were hot. Everyone knew that. Buck has a boyfriend now. People are mad it’s not Eddie. Fandom wars ensue and those of us that like both try our best to avoid the abuse to middling to terrible success.
Eddie has a girlfriend and then finds out that there is an exact doppelgänger of his dead ex-wife (told you she’d come back around) and begins having an affair with her on his current girlfriend. Everything blows up when he and doppelgänger wife are processing his ex-wife’s stuff and his girlfriend and son came home.
Chris leaves his dads and goes to live with his grandparents in Texas, and neither of them can convince him to stay. Eddie grows a terrible mustache. Buck continues dating Tommy. Interviews and canon keep calling Eddie straight but
We then find out that Tommy is the ex-fiancé of Buck’s season one obsession, Abby. Buck tries to process this with Tommy but Tommy has the most projecting ass low-self-esteem meltdown and breaks up with Buck.
Which brings us to now, two sad bestie coparents whose son is living in Texas.
And that’s what you missed on glee 911!
Did that clarify anything or just as confusing?
Canonically, IMO, they’re in a queerplatonic coparenting situationship with no sex, thus far.
What will happen next, gentle reader, who can say?
#911 abc#OG 911#buddie#bucktommy#evan buck buckely#eddie diaz#tommy kinard#it’s a messy 8 season ride#messier for those of us who are pro all queers#because we lived through the queer baiting lies and the weird homophobia#but you know

i wonder how different the story would have gone if, instead of sending ryosuke, kamiki would have visited ai on his own.
the part of me that needs them to be happy says that while he isn't necessarily enamored with the twins at first, he still tries to his best with them. maybe they think he's their new babysitter at first, that'd be funny.
anyways, kamiki awkwardly co-parenting with ai and both of them fumbling through being exes and parents and still caring so deeply for eachother but also being too traumatized to properly communicate.
aqua and ruby are first hostile when they realize that this is the man that got ai pregante™, and then they become the twos biggest shippers. cue incredibly convoluted attempts to get them together again. (i feel that it is important to point out that they're still toddlers at that time, which would make this extra funny)
So the thing about HKAI and the mess that was their relationship is that Hikaru sending Ryosuke in his place is ultimately a symptom, not a cause. It is a consequence of his arrested development in regards to Ai and his inability to conceive of a world where the two of them exist separate of their relationship. To a degree, asking 'could Hikaru and Ai be happy if he didn't send Ryosuke' is kind of asking for Hikaru to be a different character, because at the place he's at at the moment he makes that decision, he can't not make that choice. I've described Ai's tragedy in the past as being simultaneously preventable and unavoidable and the same goes for Hikaru. It's like a fucked up reverse Oroborous - in order to create the conditions for him to be a happier and healthier person, he must already have started taking the steps towards becoming that person - or at least to be further down the road than he is at the equivalent point in canon.
Even if we remove Ryosuke from the picture, I can't really imagine things going that well. I kind of touched on it in a previous ask but even the one-sided conversation we hear that seals Ai's fate raises a lot of red flags for me. He leaps to assuming that Ai is trying to get back together with him and when gently turned down romantically but still offered an opening back into her life as the father of her children, he chooses to betray her trust and send someone to terrorize and potentially hurt Ai and their children so she could 'feel his despair'. Even if we believe his insistence that he really didn't think Ryosuke would kill her, this is still an utterly reprehensible thing to do. It implies a level of not just desire but outright entitlement - that he feels he has the right to 'punish' Ai for… what? Not wanting to rush back into a relationship with him after like, five years of minimal-to-no contact? When he's gone right ahead and proved that the issues that caused their breakup have not been resolved?
Obviously, this is not to say that Hikaru doesn't sincerely love Ai with all his heart or that he doesn't care for her at all. I actually think that contradiction between his clearly observable feelings for her and the actions he nevertheless chooses to take is really fascinating in what it adds to him as a character. A big part of the reason why Hikaru's so fucked up is because he's so deeply in love with Ai and so utterly unable to cultivate a nuanced or healthy relationship with his idea of her.
So… I guess if I'm honest, my vision of it is more Hikaru using visiting the twins as a way of leveraging his way back into Ai's life, successfully or otherwise. I don't really see a scenario where Hikaru is able to work out his shit and become a decent father or partner for Ai, just because too many of his issues are tangled up in this longed-for codependence with her. Maybe this older and wiser Ai could find a way to save him like she wished for, but… is it really fair to put that weight on her shoulders? Why should she, a person with her own desperate struggles and lack of support, go right back to performing the backbreaking emotional labor that contributed to that all-consuming codependence in the first place?
To be clear, I'm saying this as a proud HikaAi shipper who loves a fucked up life-warping codependent romance, but in the context of Oshi no Ko and when we're talking about what would actually make these characters happy, I think Hikaru and Ai, at the place they are at the time of the tragedy, are not in a position to make each other truly fulfilled and happy.
askslmdslkdlsmdsl i'm so sorry anon you sent me such a cute prompt and got this utterly harrowing essay in response 😭 I'M SORRY THAT'S JUST HOW IT CAME OUT

gay!eddie is happening in the near future, a post brought to you by someone who spends way too much time dissecting queer media (and usually ends up being at least half right)
bear with me, it's a long one under the cut
i have a longer, more scene specific post that i will finish during the break if nothing happens tonight but i am a full believer that eddie's big arc this season (or next season, depending) is that the reason none of his past relationships worked out is because he's gay (not bi, gay)
disclaimers: i fully believe eddie loved shannon, just not the way he wanted to. you can also be gay and still enjoy heterosexual sex. sometimes sex really is just sex. this post is purely about romantic attraction.
I also tried to leave as much out about buck as possible (though that's hard, the man is obviously an integral part of his life) because gay!eddie diaz will happen no matter if buddie is endgame, and people need to realize that. their sexualities are more than just about each other.
anyways, on to the post-
it's canon that eddie will put christopher first when it comes to deciding relationships, and i think we first see that with shannon. rewatching season 2, i didn't get the impression that he wanted a romantic relationship with her, but he wanted her back in his son's life, and to eddie, those two go hand in hand.
and, if we're being honest, i think eddie's habit of putting other people first is the whole reason he got with shannon, because his family taught him that he was supposed to find a nice girl and settle down. who better to do that with than his best friend? my theory is further proven when shannon gets pregnant and eddie marries her out of a sense of duty, and then immediately ships off to afghanistan under the pretense of "providing" (and isn't it something that he picks a profession where he'll be away from his family for months at a time)
the only reason eddie returned is because of the helicopter crash, to which shannon immediately started talking about moving to california. while i believe that wanting to rest after the crash could be part of the reason he was hesitant, i think there was also a fear of what would happen when he was no longer near his family he was trying to please.
of course, eddie eventually moves to la after getting a job offer from both lafd and chicago. carla mentions that it is only thirty minutes from shannon, and while that could be because he wanted to reconcile, i think it was more to do with wanting to have his son's mother near. that, and lafd is the best in the world (according to eddie)
eddie only kisses shannon in 2x07 after she does her family interview for the school. this specific fact coupled with the absence of the eddie diaz heart eyes™️ (which, despite his closing off at the beginning of the series, we'd already seen in 2x01 when he and buck call truce) makes me believe he realized he could trust her and wanted her back in his son's life, and the way to do that was to get back together.
"but they hid their relationship for a while" eddie was still scared. comphet is a real thing, and causes people to act on things they necessarily don't want. i believe he pursued a romantic relationship with shannon because that's what she wanted, and if he kept her happy, she wouldn't leave again. this is why i wish we could've seen divorced shannon/eddie instead of her dying immediately, and i wonder if maybe it would've sped up the whole deconstruction process for him.
the next time eddie dates, it's with ana. on paper, ana is the perfect wife for him. she's a teacher, knows how to handle kids, is latina, the whole package. eddie tries so hard to make it work, that it actually does, and this causes him to panic. both carla and buck tell eddie not to take just chris into consideration, but to make sure he wants it too, and after some time, he breaks it off with her. the way ana reacted to the breakup makes me wonder if she could also sense the reason for the breakup.
marisol is where it starts to get tricky, but i feel like we've seen enough (or not enough) in these four episodes to piece some information together. chris is the one who encourages eddie to call her, and that makes me wonder if that's the reason they're still together. before the promo of the bucktommy date eddie and marisol crash, we only got two mentions of marisol, and both times was in relation to her helping with chris. at this point, eddie has spent more time with tommy than he has with marisol, as far as we're aware.
the synopsis of tonight's ep says that eddie and marisol "take a closer look at their relationship" and given that we haven't seen much of them on screen, it makes me wonder what this could be about. does it maybe have something to do with them crashing the bucktommy date?
obviously, i wouldn't be mad if eddie turned out to be bi. however, to me, all of his relationships seem be a big case of comphet. speaking from experience, as someone who's pursued relationships with men purely because that's what i was expected to do, not because i actually wanted to be with them. and just like eddie, there was a time where if my best friend (who was of the opposite gender) had asked me out, I would've said yes and married him had it come to that, because it would've made my family happy. i've gotten to a point where i don't care what my conservative family thinks or wants, and i truly believe that this season, we'll see eddie get to that place to.
if you've made it this far, thank you for listening, and here's to hoping we get gay!eddie tonight.

Can u do a au where raven and faybelle where raised together
I'm hoping u mean u want me to explain it instead of like, a story about it lmao.
Basically Maleficent isn't dead in EH canon, but what if she was like at the end of the Disney movie? In addition to making Faybelle's destiny even worse it also leaves Faybelle without a guardian. Another part of this AU is that when the Evil Queen went on her rampage that ultimately got her locked in the mirror she wound up killing the Good King (Raven's dad and the one who raised her) in the process, also leaving Raven without a guardian (and also even more trauma).
So in all his intelligence and good decision making, Milton Grimm is like "hey - Faybelle will be evil, Raven will be evil, they're 100% definitely also evil as kids because that makes sense, why don't we just keep them together to limit the chances of them doing something bad before they're mandated to?" and sticks both Raven and Faybelle in Raven's castle with a bunch of guards to 'make sure they don't hurt anyone'.
This also has the secret, added motivation that he hopes treating the two of them like villains from the start will lessen any chances of rebellion against their destinies a la Bella Sister.
Naturally it doesn't work lmao. As a side affect of being raised with Raven, Faybelle actually becomes less villainous - she's still chaotic, mischievous, and absolutely willing to hex people for being assholes to her (and Raven as well here), but she's more empathetic, and having someone who questioned her when she did harmful things instead of encouraged her makes her a bit more self reflective. She's still, well, Faybelle, but a bit less thoughtlessly harmful. She's also EVEN MORE hostile to authority because of basically being raised in prison, given the guards and all.
On the other hand, being raised in a hostile environment without parental figures AND with Faybelle as a pseudo sister makes Raven a lot more rebellious even earlier on. Another part of that is, due to being raised with guards watching her all the time and their hostility, and especially because the Evil Queen killed her dad here, Raven absolutely, under no circumstances, does NOT want to follow her destiny and makes that VERY clear. She's also even more guarded than canon and a lot less willing to humor Apple's bullshit, which makes Apple's development a lot longer and slightly more painful.
I also really enjoy thinking about Maddie and Faybelle's potential dynamic here. Raven cares about both of them but I can't decide if them getting along like a terrifying house on fire is funnier, or Faybelle being one of the few people Maddie actively dislikes and shows it would be. Either way, Raven has to be the voice of reason a LOT.
I mainly started thinking about this by thinking about how disappointing it was to me how little Raven's powers were expanded on - Faybelle's also, really. Maybe I just like magic systems, but I really want to see what a Raven who's been actively experimenting with her magic could do. We know that Raven's magic tends towards chaotic, but I think being raised around someone like Faybelle would make her a lot more open towards testing out what she can do without hurting people, especially because I definitely think child Faybelle would do that herself.
Neither of them have anyone to teach then because Milton Grimm is NOT giving two of the potentially most dangerous upcoming villains actual magic tutoring, but it's still fun to consider what two lonely kids raised in that isolated environment together could come up with.

Some of the asks sent to @citadelofmythoughts had me musing on all those RWBY fanfic animation projects proclaiming to be rewrites.
Firstly, I am eternally vexed that there's so much energy and resources being spent on stuff that spins the wheels of Beacon forever or is basically the original series but with screenshots & also bad.
Like, can you not imagine how cool it would be to be having fan projects around "What of RWBY were dragon riders" or "What if RWBY were super heroes?" or "What if RWBY but older, Weiss never escaped Atlas, Blake's now a general in the White Fang, Ruby is Weiss's bodyguard & Yang's a WF double agent & also dating Blake" AU.
This is also why I don't take any real issue with that Qrow centric project as that at least exploring a less utilized character, new or rare locations and original story beats.
I am also suddenly reminded that ages back I full on considered trying to get a group together for a RWBY fan project. I can't recall the name now, but it was basically an ABRN-AU.
Or more, "Explore these side characters by making up backstories for them and giving them a fun little arc". In this case each got a color trailer and had a local villain in the form of a gang boss to beat cos some team members pissed them off.
But I didn't have the 3D skills then that I do now, or the time sadly & I imagine it might not have taken off anyway, but cest-la-vie.
As it is, I think there's a couple of reasons why this keeps happening.
Though, to be clear, I know some people who work on some of these and are both very nice and some do have people that really like the show making them, or who at least aren't RWDE levels of "CRTQ".
This is more talking about their general explosive number and scale compared to more original or challenging projects.
Firstly, on a pure production level it is easier long term to make a handful of fairly iconic set pieces and then have the characters just hang around there. As opposed to exploring, seeing new places, meeting new characters and doing new things. Almost like producing something at the scale of actual RWBY is really hard and expensive.
Secondly, even when people do like RWBY make these projects they have a vested interest in keeping it to pre V3/Pre-Fall era stuff. Reason being the RWDE crowd has proven time and again willing to throw money hand over fist and even dedicate hours upon hours of free labor to productions like this. As it provides tacit confirmation of their world view and serves as another bullet in their clunky ass gun that they fire off whenever they can cos apparently they've nothing better to do with their lives.
Third and finally its... I guess comforting? Familiar? Simpler perhaps? Even wen telling something more dramatic like Dust Queen, having a stable setting, no ticking clocks and a 'safe' locale for the heroes with supporting characters on hand but not needing to be present. It makes for easy watching...
It is rather like the 'Bat-Fam' Web Toon where everything is simpler and easier cos all the edges & potential complexities in the story, setting or cast got filed down. Maybe new one's were introduced but those are entirely in the authors control as opposed to leaving them grappling with canon.
That's just my take though.

Tag Game: First 10 Lines Challenge:
Rules: Share the first line of your last ten published works or as many as you are able to and see if there are any patterns!
I’ve tagged myself off a general invitation to participate, so I invite anyone else who’s interested to do the same.
I haven’t stayed strictly with the last ten stories. Instead I went with the ten stories posted so far—of a total of fourteen—in my ongoing canon GSR series. I also haven’t stayed strictly with the first lines—I couldn’t decide whether to do the first lines of the introductions (where applicable) or of the actual story text, so I went with both.
Today is the two-year anniversary of when I started posting this series, which I thought this would be a good time to share this! When I first started writing the series back in late June 2022, I didn’t imagine I’d still be posting it over two years later. But it’s now almost three times as long as it was when I had completed my first draft—though the end point is not significantly different.
1. Survivors in the Night: AAFS Conference to Las Vegas: A How They Met Story [12 chapters; 21,420 words]
Introduction:
Gil Grissom meets Sara Sidle at the 1998 forensic academy conference in San Francisco. They immediately fall in love. Maybe that should have been the end of the story; maybe it should have been that easy. But it wasn’t, not for these two science nerds. They live happily ever after, eventually, but not in this story. This story is the first loop in their roller coaster ride, though. This story gets Sara Sidle to Vegas.
October 2000. Las Vegas, Nevada.
“You are . . .” he trailed off, struggling to find the right word. “You are so . . .” Again, he couldn’t get it. He was usually quite adept with words. He had a good memory and a Shakespeare quotation close at hand for almost any situation. But he currently had a very tall, very attractive, very naked young brunette in his bed, and she always seemed to do this to him. He was at a loss.
“You are so . . . completely f[***]able,” he finally concluded.
She laughed. Of all the words she might have expected to come out of the eminent entomologist’s mouth, that was possibly the last. He could have called her a Martian, and she’d have been less surprised.
2. No, I Never Meant to Break Your Heart: This Area Was Always a Good Place for Stargazing: A How They Got Together Story [6 chapters; 10,492 words]
Introduction:
Sara Sidle and Gil Grissom had worked together very well in the beginning. They’d kind of flirted a bit in the beginning (okay, they probably still did that), and they’d stood really very abnormally close together (they definitely still did that), and no one had seemed to notice this, except Catherine Willows had maybe noticed their flirting, but that really was way back in the beginning
[. . .]
March 2005. Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sara didn’t know what he was doing. She really didn’t. Ever since she’d told Grissom about her deep, dark, secret past, he’d been confusing her. Ever since she’d told him about that deep, dark, secret past, he’d just . . . been there.
3. No, I Never Meant to Let You Down: After the Meteors: The Smallest of Moments [Drabble]
April 2005. Later that same day. Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Sara . . .”
She looked at him.
“Sara, we . . .” He hesitated.
Why did he look nervous?
4. I Never Meant to Turn Away: Committed: Some Reflections by the Scientist [One-shot; 3,596 words]
April 2005. Later that same week. Las Vegas, Nevada.
Commit. To commit. To be committed. Suddenly these phrases had taken on a lot of significance in Sara Sidle’s life—too much significance, perhaps.
5. No, I Never Meant to Cause You Pain: Grave Danger to Law of Gravity: Various Encounters [9 chapters; 14,875 words]
Introduction:
Sara Sidle was Gil Grissom’s fantasy. That much was obvious. Sara Sidle and Gil Grissom were in fact already sleeping together. Should that have been obvious? (No one else seemed to figure it out, except maybe that shrewd detective Jim Brass.)
[. . .]
December 2006. Las Vegas, Nevada.
He knew he needed to tell her. He would tell her the next day—always the next day. He most definitely needed to tell her. It wasn’t going to get any better if he put it off. It was going to happen, and he couldn’t exactly just have her wake up one day and find him gone.
6. No, I Never Meant to Hurt You: The Good, the Bad, and the Happy Ending(s): More Encounters; A Conversation Takes Place [One-shot; 4,001 words]
Introduction:
By now, Grissom had shaved again. Well, no, Sara had shaved him. It was pretty intimate. Sara had not yet read the letter from Williamstown, but she soon would. (That’s the subject of another story, though.) Regardless, they were both pretty happy.
[. . .]
May 2007. Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was fine. Sara Sidle was fine. And doesn’t that tell you all you really need to know?
April 2007. Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sara Sidle swooned—or close to it. The man she loved had just declared his love for her while on a case, and it was just about the sweetest thing she’d ever heard. He hadn’t said those exact words, of course, but his meaning was clear. So Sara swooned.
7. All I Ever Wanted Was to Be Right Here: After the Desert: A Very Brief Interlude [One-shot; 576 words]
Introduction:
Sara Sidle made it out of the desert. Sara Sidle is a survivor.
May 2007. Las Vegas, Nevada.
As soon as he was allowed, Grissom had gone to sit by her bed. Since then, he’d only left her side for the briefest of moments. He held her hand, and he praised everything in which he believed, and everything in which he didn’t, that she’d made it through the ordeal alive.
8. All I Want to Do Now Is to Try My Best: I Love It When You Dress Up: A Moment of Happiness [One-shot; 3,776 words]
Introduction:
“Yes. Let’s do it.”
October 2007. Las Vegas, Nevada.
Well, he’d gone and done it. He’d done the thing she’d always kind of dreamed of him doing—the thing she’d always kind of dreamed of him doing, even before it was safe (well before it was safe) for her to dream of him doing anything of the sort.
She had never dreamed of her wedding day. For much of her life, truth be told, she hadn’t imagined she would ever get married. Growing up—first with her parents and their disastrous (nay, tragic) relationship and then in her string of foster homes—she hadn’t exactly acquired an idea of marriage as anything to be emulated. But then she’d met this man. Ever since she’d met him, she’d always wanted to be connected to this man. And so, quite despite herself, Sara Sidle had dreamed.
9. So Don't Ever, Don't Ever, Don't Forget: I Miss You with Every Beat of My Heart: A Long-distance Telephone Call . . . and a Movie [One-shot; 2,912 words]
Introduction:
What do you do when you can’t be with the one you love?
Winter 2008. San Francisco, California and Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Hi,” he said softly, after flipping open his phone and putting it to his ear, as if a more forceful response would scare her off.
“Hi,” she replied, just as softly, as if it took all her strength to exist so far from this man who was so much a part of her.
10. All I Ever Wanted Was to Stand Beside You: Costa Rica to the Ishmael, and Then Some: A How They Fell Apart & How They Came Back Together Story [21 (of 28) chapters; 64,901 words (and counting)] [WIP]
Introduction:
Sara Sidle and Gil Grissom were living together very happily (with their dog, Hank—we will never forget Hank, the best dog either of them ever had) in Las Vegas, Nevada, when a serial killer decided to exact revenge on Grissom by kidnapping and killing Sara.
[. . .]
Fall 2015. San Diego, California.
Gil Grissom had found himself in a spot of trouble in San Diego, while carrying out some of his ongoing (and slightly illegal—he’d been found trespassing on a boat) conservation efforts. But an odd twist of fate was helping Grissom out. An officer from San Diego Harbor Patrol was just finishing up on the phone with Grissom’s former colleague, the current Las Vegas sheriff, Conrad Ecklie. Ecklie had requested Grissom’s urgent assistance on a case.
“It’s your lucky day, pal,” the officer told Grissom, after ending the call. “I’d tell you not to leave town, but I guess you’re going to Sin City.”
Grissom sighed. “Vegas,” he said, with a not-slight measure of regret. On the surface, Grissom looked a little put out but generally calm. Inside, however, was a different matter: Vegas. F[***]. F[*******]. F[***]. Even in his head, Grissom didn’t ordinarily curse. But in this case he would make an exception: F[**********].
It wasn’t Vegas itself that was the problem. It was his ex-wife: Sara Sidle. She was overseeing the case on which he’d agreed to assist. It was both because of her that he’d agreed to assist and because of her that he had almost refused. Ultimately the tie had been broken by his desire for Ecklie’s help on his current, er, situation with the harbor patrol.
#i mean the most obvious pattern is that for anything multi-chapter i like starting out by jumping ahead to some later point in the story#also the introductions definitely have the voice of the narrator#csi#gsr#otp: gsr#sara x grissom#grissom x sara#sara sidle#gil grissom#jorja fox#william petersen#💛: survivors in the night#survivors in the night: a las vegas love story#also the tense shifts in the first intro are weird i know and i cannot tell you exactly why but i like it that way#i definitely write as what le guin called the involved author#which i think is a result of the kind of reading i typically do#(and have typically done all my life)

what if:
fictional television show within the Cyanverse
a science-fiction family show, a la Star Trek or Doctor Who
about a gang of space pirates who adopt this random alien kid floating about in space (the 'alien' is just a normal furry with a googly eye headband because special effects are sorely lacking)
they set off on a quest to find the home of this alien kid
every episode they end up on a new planet and get into wacky hijinks
I'm definitely going for the '80s-90s show that has it's charms but is also quite problematic at points'
of the cast there would probably be:
1) heroic macho captain with a tragic backstory. the crew don't even know his real name and just call him Captain
2) 'emotions are for the weak' scientist with a tacky, vaguely German-sounding name. Dr Quarkenstein. That's not his real name. I don't think he even has a PhD. He tries to experiment on alien kid and it's played for laughs but in retrospective it's actually super fucking awful
3) femme fatale fighter who somehow ends up in compromising positions because of course. Writers try to make her and the Captain fall in love and it doesn't work and everyone can tell it's a poorly disguised ploy to stop people from shipping the Captain with Dr Quarkenstein. would make a great lesbian if the show allowed her to be
4) weapons expert who smokes 20 space cigarettes a day. has been through a lot of shit. has gotten the show in trouble a few times because of scenes where she makes bombs and chemical weapons in very excruciating detail
5) pilot and navigation expert who is very clumsy and presses the wrong button from time to time which is probably the reason why they get into so many hijinks in the first place. at some point it is revealed that he's been doing this on purpose in order to prolong the Adventure. a hopeless romantic and a terrible flirt. probably has some uncomfortable scenes with femme fatale
6) mechanic who stays on the ship and therefore does not get into as many hijinks. very chilled out except when someone messes with the ship, then he goes bezerk and shape shifts into a deadly space monster, and everyone then knows Not To Fuck With The Mechanic
7) alien kiddo. very sad wet and pathetic. filled with wonder about the universe and questions about where they came from. basically a proxy for the audience in the show for the space pirates to explain the space stuff to. textually non-binary but the writer were only able to get away with it because they're an alien.
8) the ship. an artificial intelligence with no gender identity but everyone treats her as if she were a woman. presented by the show as the 'mother bear' who loves her crew and would pilot herself and bring out all the lasers to save them if they got lost without her. can be a bit cheeky.
I know I'm leaning into stereotypes here, but that is kind of the point of what niches the show is supposed to fill
I decided some months ago that homophobia and sexism were canon (because indeed, before then I had been operating on the idea of 'the furries just never had these things', but that was kind of boring) so that's why the writers of this show are so wacky...damn...the one writer who managed to make alien kid nonbinary is fighting for their life out here lol
anyway I think Bjorn and Helga (and probably the rest of the science gang, although they didn't know each other at the time) watched this show when they were kids, through to their teens, and it helped to spark their love for science. I imagine they both had a crush on the Captain and would fight over him.
Caliburn probably related to Dr Quarkenstein a little too much
Zenith probably spent every episode wishing that the femme fatale and the weapons expert got together, and then texted Bjorn about homophobia whenever an episode ended with no results.
Fenrir would probably go hard for one specific episode where they encounter Dinosaurs In Space or something and only think about that, and then someone asks him if he likes the show and he says 'yeah' and then they ask him about something other than that episode and he doesn't know what they are talking about because he only remembers that episode
Jake never really sought out the show, but rather was exposed to it through Zenith. Looking back on it he realises the mechanic is basically just him...
Damien was probably just a casual fan who had it on in the background while he played with his Cyanverse equivalent of Hexbugs, and so couldn't name you a single character from the show, although he swears he's watched it
Noon didn't watch it growing up as they didn't have access to television, but knows all about it from Zenith. they think the femme fatale is cute

My headcanons for Agent Carter season 2
This is just my theory of why Angie was not in Agent Carter season 2, this is what I like to believe instead of the canon season 2. In my opinion, Peggy was in love with Angie throughout the season 1, and there are plenty of scenes of them together to assume that. After the season finale when they moved in together and I think Peggy was always hesitant to whether she should just confess to Angie or to keep everything to herself. Because she value Angie a lot as her friend and don't want to loose her completely if her feelings were not to be reciprocated. I get that Angie usually flirted with her and always was there for her, but in Peggy's mind it could just be Angie being a great friend. We also need to think that it was the time of 40s, not really a easy time for people like Peggy and she was also a government agent who belonged to a different nation so, she had to be extra careful. Angie could have also said something but just as I said, the time of 40s and also I think Angie knew that Peggy was cap's girl so she also never assumed anything about her and thought if Peggy wanted something she will say it. They became really close between the time of season 1 and season 2, it was everything Peggy ever wanted, Angie was everything she could ever want in a partner.
But then came the time of season 2, and Peggy had to go, but before going she did informed Angie and Angie was the one who helped her pack for the trip, both of them had only one thought in mind that the other one will say something or offer to come or go with me. But again that hesitancy of ruining the friendship or the danger of Peggy's job stopped them. I know Angie is nowhere mentioned in the season 2 but i believe that they atleast called each other and the first thing Peggy did after coming to LA is sending Angie a postcard.
Now, let's talk about the love triangle situation, I like to think that it only happened because in LA Peggy straight up made her mind that this thing with Angie will never happen so she can actually try and make a life with a good man. At the end of the season Peggy choose Daniel and she was happy about it, but her dream with Angie was still bothering her( like according to that dream Peggy's safe place is with Angie and also I just like to interpret that dream as Peggy's fight between her mind and heart, her mind tells her that these are safe options you can work with them, but on the other hand the heart tells her that do you really want to)
and also would like to add this gif of Peggy giving the most smoldering look to Angie.
But at the end, mind won and also the fact that Jack got shot. Peggy being Peggy blamed it on herself and completely scratched the idea of ever telling Angie anything. She did went back to New York, but only for meeting Angie a one last time. They had dinner together and Peggy told Angie that she is moving to LA and Daniel and her are dating now. Angie was obviously heartbroken but she still wanted to be in Peggy's life even as a friend, because that's her Peggy and she just can't give her up. Peggy wanted to keep Angie safe so she broke all ties with her, never replied to her letters or calls.
After a year of getting ignored Angie just gave up and thought guess she was only just a girl from griffin for Peggy. Angie became a popular movie star.
Peggy"i am not one for the cinema" Carter actually watched all of Angie's movies, read all the trashy magazines if it had any detail about star Angela Martin's life in it. Peggy did married someone and had kids with that person( She had a daughter who she named Elizabeth Angela Carter, because i said so) but it never worked out they eventually got divorced and everyone thought well director carter is married to her work or because who can fill up Captain America's shoes but it was just her being away from her true soulmate.
Angie did also married someone to but it was just trying to fill up a gap. She died before Peggy in late 90s, this news just broke Peggy and that's when her Alzheimer's got bad because of this regret of not even trying to be with the person she wanted, needed and craved.
All of the avengers are big fans of Ms. Martin and so they suggested Steve to watch her movies, Steve really loved them and he too became a big fan of Angie. One day when he was visiting Peggy he talked to her about one of Angie's movies and with tears in her eyes Peggy said "my Angie". Steve never saw or heard Peggy being that broken not even when his ship was going down in the ice and they talked.
#peggy carter#angie martinelli#cartinelli#steve rogers#agent carter#the avengers#marvel mcu#mcu#marvel#if you guys didn't knew i was dilusional now you do#will i ever be able to get over cartinelli#probably not

Realised, I’ve never done this post and with the Manga being on break (right after Tomura pulled his fun little stunt) I figured, why the hell not. Predictions on Kai Chisaki’s future plot relevance and backstory:
‘Cause while I can indeed never stop malding about the fact that Hori brought my blorbo back but didn’t follow up on it, I actually have genuine reason to believe that his backstory will become relevant in the upcoming confrontation.
Why is that? Well, essentially because of the conversation Deku had with the former OFA users’ vestiges. In the conversation he reveals that while fighting Tomura he saw that on the inside there was a part that needed saving and that thus he wanted to help him. He is still pursuing that goal in canon right now.
However, more importantly to my point is that Deku continues that thought process further and explains that he’s realised he fought many villains in the past but never explored their motivations. [ch 305]
The villains depicted here specifically are Muscular, Stain, Gentle Criminal and La Brava, and finally Overhaul. In the following chapters all of them have made an appearance thus far and the readers got more of a glance into this underlying motivation Deku is addressing here.
Muscular has directly fought Deku and pressed that he simply was motivated by a desire for violence and there wasn’t more to it. [ch 307+308]
Stain on the other hand aided the heroes by providing them information from his stay in Tartarus and also gave Yagi a personal pep talk to remind him of what is truly inspiring about All Might. [ch 326]
Gentle Criminal and LaBrava had their moment very recently, with Gentle experiencing a change of heart in face of the mass-breakout disaster and the two of them actively deciding to fight on the hero's side in the war. [ch. 378+379]
Chisaki has also made an appearance, albeit in a remarkably broken and mentally dissociative state. We learn a little about him. Mainly that he’s given up on his ambitions, that he cares little for revenge and that his mind is now obsessed with nothing but the idea of returning to the boss and apologising to him. He even got to meet Deku who demands for Chiaki to extend his need to apologise to Eri. [ch 315+316]
Chisaki speaking to Eri, perhaps even apologising to her, is a huge deal for both of their characters. It puts the conclusion of the Overhaul arc into a whole new perspective, and could serve a lot of purposes such as providing closure for Eri, or addressing the developments both have gone through since last seeing each other ( For example, how Eri has grown more confident, while in contrast Overhaul rapidly deteriorated. ).
However so far, none of this has happened. The storythread was left on a cliffhanger and I would assume that Hori is keenly aware of this.
In conclusion the big “Deku explores Chisaki’s secret motivation event is most likely still coming, and my guess is that is most likely around the time he apologises to Eri, or tries to at least. And there is a lot to unpack, as I have previously already pointed out. To this day there is essentially nothing we know about Kai’s origin;
Why was he abandoned as a child on the streets?
Why he hates quirks so passionately.
Why he appears to hate his own name.
But why is this relevant to the future plot? Well, now we come to the speculatory part. From what I am seeing, the Manga points in one direction; that the encounter of Chisaki attempting to apologise to Eri, along with Chisaki’s backstory, will be retold in a flashback during the Tomura VS Deku fight. Because some part of the experience Deku has made there will help him get through to Tomura as Chisaki’s childhood backstory leads back to All For One.
( Yes, bemoan it together with me. “ Why does almost every villain origin story in mha have to relate back to All For One? “ I hate it but I suppose it comes with the territory. )
The reason why I believe All For One is involved is greatly due to this one image:
When it was revealed in Chapter 350, that Dabi had in fact been saved from dying by All For One who wanted to use him, we were given an exclusive glimpse into this facility. Ujiko described it to be a place where AFO kept backup children to replace Tenko/Tomura just in case. As the image above shows, the facility has a more than striking similarity to a place Chisaki was shown to have been in as a child. [ch 158] About the Chisaki panel we had never been given any context; whether it was set before or after Chisaki had joined the Yakuza, or where it was set. However it was strongly implied that it was around that time that he learnt about the theory of quirks being considered a sickness, which became ingrained in his motivation and his entire character.
Considering these two much too similar looking settings, we can assume that most likely Kai formerly had been a child under the clutches of All For One.
Now, for those of you who’ve heard of the theory that Chisaki was there at the same time as Touya, I will quickly clarify that this is not possible without time travel. Chisaki is several years older than Touya, who was apparently around 18 at the time he woke up in that facility. That would mean Chisaki was in his twenties, and thus it only happened many many years after he’d joined the Yakuza. After all, the boss had picked him up when he was still a child.
However, I want to continue this thought of age to remind further; Chisaki is in fact also 7 years older than Tenko. Looking at the child the boss had picked up from the streets, I believe it is safe to say he was not much older than 7 years old, which would mean he was in All For One’s clutch even before Tenko was born. In conclusion this would make young Kai not just a potential backup for Tomura Shigaraki, but rather a child intended for the position even before Tenko was part of the equation. This is my currently standing theory.
This of course all just speculation, but it certainly wouldn’t be beyond AFO to suggest to a child that quirks are a curse upon humanity in order to manipulate him, and it certainly wouldn’t come as a surprise that Kai had grown up in such a toxic environment previously to joining the Yakuza. Going back to narrative purpose, the experiences he would have had in that case would also certainly provide Deku a unique insight to help him understand how to help Tenko/Tomura and how to defeat AFO.
Considering all this I want to close by pointing out a small tidbit from the start of the Overhaul arc [ ch 125 ] that gets a rather different tone in this context. During their first meeting with Overhaul, Tomura tells the league of villains that All For One had in fact already talked to him about this particular Yakuza, as though he was giving a warning. It is a little strange considering how they also talk in length about how the Yakuza have fallen out of relevancy. Even Overhaul himself admits that he struggled to finance himself because of how little people took them seriously.
So why would All For One of all people pay attention to a “little Yakuza throwback”? That is unless he had a bit more of a personal history with Kai Chisaki.
#bnha spoilers#overhaul#kai chisaki#all for one#we back to speculating abt shit again boys#also legit found the previous post I was gonna make on this in my drafts like ooops i really did start it and forget it

ooo ok so here’s one that i’ve thought of a lot but i only see a few people talk about but what do you think bobby’s parents/brother are like? do you think he had any more siblings? (i’ve been writing a fic over the past while so i’ve gotten to kind of develop what i think his brother is like but i’m curious on your thoughts!)
LORD I have headcanons. I have a billion wildly conflicting headcanons bc we know so little and I can never decide how angsty I want his childhood to be. Not knowing drives me insane actually, thanks so much Fox
(gonna stick this under a read more bc it got long)
The one thing I absolutely refuse to change my mind on is that Bobby is the youngest sibling. He has to be the boss or the dad or somehow the strong one in so many of his relationships, so I just want him to be the baby with his parents and sibling(s) to give him a break and have a different dynamic
Lately, my inability to decide things has given me the idea of Bobby being adopted (his brother is still his bio brother), and I’m rather fond of that. It gives me the best of both worlds with crappy bio parents traumatizing him for a few years before he's properly raised by loving adoptive parents. It also fits wonderfully with my idea that he grew up comparing himself to Superman bc his parents called him their little Superman
I do think they inadvertently pushed the "all boys have to be firefighters" thing a little too hard, though. He was just suspiciously unhappy when he revealed that, and it's hard for me not to think there's baggage attached considering how long it took him to tell anyone that he's a fourth-generation firefighter when he should be proud of that. It's become my firm belief since then that he didn't necessarily want to be a firefighter when he was a kid, but he did it to make them happy and bc he felt like he didn't have a choice
I waver a lot about the specifics of Bobby's relationship with his brother, but I do usually think they have a rivalry about who's the better firefighter that mostly stems from Bobby thinking he has to be the absolute best at everything to be worthy of anyone's love (bc I fully believe he's felt like that since long before he broke his back)
I don't have a name for his brother (I used to, but I based it on headcanons I made before the firefighter family reveal and it doesn't feel right in light of the changes that made me make, and I haven't picked a new one yet), but I do think he's happily married with a minimum of three kids. Unlike Bobby, he was always excited to be a firefighter, and he always made it look effortless (their dad absolutely gave them some sort of training when they were growing up to make sure they would be ready for the academy)
I don't know if I think he actually has more siblings in canon, but I want him to have a sister too so I did create a new AU last week where I decided that Captain Shore from May Day is that sister. She's the eldest, her wife is an ER nurse named Jordin, and they have three adopted kids. I pushed the firefighter family legacy & their dad training only the boys for it to an angsty extreme in that, so she moved to LA the second she was old enough and built her life there, and only stayed in contact with their mother until Bobby moved to LA too. They fix their relationship and, when they eventually go back to Minnesota, they do it together
On the back to Minnesota note, I also think that Bobby hasn't actually spoken to any of them since he moved to LA, or even since Marcy and the kids' funeral. It just explains too much, like why they were never invited to the wedding and why he never talks about them and why they never visit even when he's been hurt. At first he just wanted to make his death easier on them, and later it just became the fact that he doesn't know how to reach back out. There's just... so much that he doesn't know how to explain, so much he doesn't know how to face again. They keep up with his life as much as they can through news and stuff, but they don't know how to reach out either
All in all, I think he has a family full of wonderful people who love him, but the combo of his own personality and the pressure to carry the family legacy soured some things as he got older and struggled to find his place in the world, and the cracks truly started showing once he broke his back, and everything finally fell apart after the fire and they have yet to fix it
#ngl if they do introduce someone from his family and come in like 'everything's fine and everyone is perfectly happy!!!'#after so many years of near total silence and some implied angst on the subject#i will be offended#911#mine.#ask#cptn-nash#bobby

Where In the World Is Brittana?
This is the latest installment in my "Dream" world canon-ish/canon-adjacent series. Full story is up at FF.Net
From Lesbos to Hawaii to New York. What Brittany and Santana got up to while they were missing from June of 2013 until April of 2014
Chapter 1 – Mytilene
“Santana … whatever it is, just tell me.”
“What?”
They were lying in chairs on the beach and enjoying – or trying to enjoy – the beautiful sunshine and the clear blue waters of the Aegean. Brittany could feel Santana stewing over … something.
“Santana, I can hear you thinking all the way over here. Whatever's bothering you, just tell me so we can work it out and actually enjoy the beach.” Brittany didn't look over at Santana; she just kept relaxing in her chair. She knew whatever it was was probably something minor that Santana was over-thinking and working herself up over for nothing.
Santana sighed. “I have to tell you something. I don't know why I didn't just tell you before. I didn't think it was a big deal but then I started thinking about it and now I'm not sure …”
Brittany sat up and faced Santana. “Santana …” she interrupted the ramble that Santana was gearing up for.
Santana looked over at Brittany and sighed again before sitting up and turning to face her. She took Brittany's hands in hers.
“I talked to Dani the night before we left. I … I called her.”
Brittany nodded. She wasn't sure where this was going but … “Okay … and?”
“I didn't want her to hear about us from Kurt or Rachel because God knows what the drama twins would tell her and I didn't want her to get hurt thinking I had been cheating on her or that I planned it or whatever.” Santana looked at Brittany and bit her bottom lip.
Flashback
“Hey, chica, what's up?” Dani's voice floated through the phone.
“Hi! How are you? How's LA?” Santana didn't know why she was nervous. She wasn't doing anything wrong. (Then why aren't you telling Brittany? Why did you wait until she was in the shower?) Santana shook off those thoughts. She was going to tell Brittany. She was. Eventually. Maybe. Ugh.
“It's amazing! The weather is awesome. I'm having a great time. Thank you again for getting me Geno's number. He's been so great introducing me to people and showing me around. The show seems like it's going to be good. We've done a couple of read-throughs and I think the script is really well written and tight. My co-workers are all pretty chill. I was a little nervous about that but, honestly, they've been great. So how are you? To what do I owe the pleasure of this call?”
“I'm good. Really good. It's just … there's something I wanted you to hear from me in case Kurt or Rachel texted or whatever. So, I ended up going back to Lima for that Glee thing and … um … Britt and I got back together. I didn't want you to think I was cheating on you or that we broke up because I was planning on getting back together with Brittany. It just … so cliché … happened. I didn't want you to get hurt if Kurt or Rachel said something that made it seem like … I dunno … something it wasn't.”
Dani laughed. “Santana, I know you didn't cheat on me. That never would have entered my mind. I know why we broke up; I mean, you even went to Grand Central with me to see me off on Thursday morning. I know you didn't plan it because, as of Thursday morning, you weren't planning on going to Lima.” Dani paused for a moment. “Maybe people who think everything happens for a reason are right. I mean, if I hadn't gotten this chance, you probably wouldn't have gone back to Lima.” She paused again. “Can I be real with you?”
“Of course.”
“We were having fun together. I like you, you like me. It wasn't love, right? I mean, you told me when we met that you still loved your ex but it was over. I think we were way-points for each other. A temporary rest stop before we moved on to our next thing. For me, it's LA. I have a really good feeling about everything. For you, it's Brittany. You were floundering, we both know that. You didn't know what you wanted. I think the Broadway thing was you trying to figure out what to do. It's cool, Santana, really. I would like it if we could be friends.”
“I don't have that many so I'd really like that, too.”
“Good. So my friend calls me up and says 'hey, my ex and I just got back together' … my response? Are you happy? Is it what you want?”
Santana laughed. “I am happy. Yeah, it is what I want. It wasn't like we saw each other and hooked up. She called me Thursday night and just sounded wrong. I knew something was up so I made the trip. I was right. MIT was killing her … she wasn't Brittany anymore. We spent the week hanging out and I reminded her of who she really was. Took us about a week and a half to figure out that we wanted to try again. As of yesterday, all of our friends knew. Tomorrow morning we're heading off to Lesbos for awhile. Spend some real time together without the Gleeks and family and whatever. Just me and Britt and a lot of sun and sand.”
“That sounds awesome! Really, I'm happy for you. And, even though you didn't have to, I really do appreciate you calling. You're right about Kurt and Rachel; there's no way of knowing what they'd say. So I do appreciate you giving me a heads up about what really happened. It's sweet.” Dani laughed.
“Whatever. I like you. I didn't want you to get hurt. I mean, we broke up just over two weeks ago and here I am running off to Europe with my ex.”
“Hey, I ran off to LA first. Really, it's all good. Enjoy yourself. Hit me up when you get back to the States. If you're ever in LA or I get back to New York, we'll do dinner or something. Don't be a stranger.”
“Same goes for you. Talk soon.”
end flashback
“Okay. So, you called your friend to tell her we got back together just in case the drama divas thought about being 'helpful'.”
Santana nodded.
“Why didn't you just tell me?” Brittany wasn't angry or even upset. Just bewildered and curious. “I mean, did you call her to see if there was a chance for the two of you to get back together before you ran off with me?”
“What? No! Of course not!” Santana gaped at Brittany. “How could you even think that?”
“I didn't but that's kind of how you're acting. Like you did something wrong. Santana, you called a friend. It's really not the big deal you're making it out to be. The only thing making it a big deal is you not telling me like it was something you had to hide.”
Santana looked at Brittany for a moment before launching herself off her chair and tackling Brittany off hers. They landed in the soft sand with a muffled “oof” and Santana leaned down and captured Brittany's lips in a searing kiss. She ran her tongue over Brittany's bottom lip and was granted access. Their tongues began the dance they'd known forever. Brittany wrapped her arms around Santana's waist and pulled her close.
When they finally separated for air, Brittany grinned at Santana.
“Not that I'm complaining but what was that for?”
Santana laughed. “For being the most amazing girlfriend ever.”
They got up and cuddled together on the chair Brittany had been lounging on.
“Santana, you're allowed to have female friends and talk to them on the phone and text them or whatever. I trust you. If I ever get the feeling that something's off with someone, I'll tell you. Like if someone seems to be seeing you as more than a friend. I know you. You'd be clueless.” Brittany smiled.
“You're right, I would be.” Santana shrugged. “When I'm with you, it just doesn't occur to me that someone else would be interested because I'm not interested. And … I just felt weird because she's my ex.”
“Don't think of her that way. She's your friend. When you talked to me while we were broken up was I your ex or was I your best friend? You had sex with Quinn … do you feel weird talking to her?”
“When you put it like that …”
“Exactly. We're together. I trust you not to do anything to hurt that. I know you'd never cheat on me. That's a non-issue for us.” Brittany kissed Santana softly. “I love you, we're pretty much in paradise, I don't want you getting lost in that pretty little head of yours over silly stuff.”
“I love you, too, Britt.” Santana smiled.
Brittany yawned. “I'm a little tired. I know we planned to just laze on the beach but I think I'd like to go back to our room and lie down for a bit. You interested?”
Santana got up and offered Brittany her hand. “With you? Always.”
Brittany took her hand and they headed off back to their room.

What is going through francis' mind when evelyn pushes him away from matthew? Is he just annoyed with evelyn for acting like he would somehow make things worse when he was trying to help or does it sting a bit that he is no longer seen as even being an older brother to matthew? What are their interactions like? I know they're preoccupied with the war and are all allies but having the whole face family together at that point seems like it would be incredibly awkward. At least evelyn and francis had a sweet moment but i imagine it's strained at times.
He thinks she's being very childish and unhelpful. She isn't pushing him away because it's Francis particularly - she's just lashing out and in that instinctive maternal 'anyone who touches my kid wants to harm them' mindset - like what you see in things like swans when they think their babies are going to be hurt. Oftentimes it is very unhelpful to have the parent flapping and hissing in the background, but they genuinely don't know any better, or they're just in a complete blind panic.
At the same time, she let's Alfred get closer, so again, it's obvious she is not exactly facing up to facts on who is on her side, and at this point in time it is not America. I think it's rather undervalued how much the French and British troops really needed and relied on each other and worked together. The Americans and the (lack of) integration into Allied Forces was a real bone of contention. Evelyn's not got her right head screwed on in that moment - she's in Eva mode, not England mode, if that makes sense. It annoys Francis because she always has the wrong head on at the wrong moment. She can be excellent in a crisis, but only when it pertains to herself. The minute someone else gets involved she is a bit useless.
I think they were both kind of surprised that the Entente ended up working out as well as it did. They are both old as fuck as they are both prone to melancholia, so there are times were they just sit and bond over going 'what the fuck have we done to the world?' you know? But then Francis is more likely to go 'Ah. C'est la vie' and get going whereas Evelyn is more likely to not let it go.
Having said that... The French really went through it in WWI. 70% of those who went off to fight came back injured, or never came back at all. The British Empire's figure, as far as I can see, is around 35%. (The US stat is 8% - like I really can't explain how much WWI wrecked Europe). So for France it's: a fifth of the entire population goes off to fight, and 15% of the entire population are either dead or injured one way or another by the end, and those that do come back 'unharmed' may be carrying trauma of their own. My numbers are probably off. But. Considering France already had an ageing population in 1914... like it's just really hard to verbalise how much the war completely fucked with France's people, and its land.
Francis is hurting badly, and he's getting like no emotional support from the woman who's his closest ally, because she's flapping around being generally unhelpful giving doe eyes towards a kid who's still really wary of her. Francis is more practical than her, but we all know in canon Francis loves to be known as big brother. His actual attempts to act brotherly however... need work. But the big brother angle can very much be read as 'exerting influence without having having to do any actual caretaking'. He wants to have his cake and eat it too without putting in any of the emotional labour that... well. He's a bit sad that Matthew isn't exactly clamouring for his attention, but he's not vain enough to not understand why. For all Evelyn's faults, she certainly allows herself to be weak for her kids. Over and over again sentimentality is her downfall. No-one could ever accuse Francis of the same.
Francis has a better grip on what it is to be a nation and is more compelling on a larger group; Evelyn has a better grasp on what it is to be human and is more compelling one on one. I think that's a neat way to differentiate them.
