am i the only one who thinks mairon is a minimalism bitch? like his whole thing is efficiency he probably strives for the least effort for maximum results. I mean look at his ring too it’s completely blank and simple. i imagine him not actually wearing a lot of jewelries, maybe one or two pieces to show his rank but thats it. they get in the way of his work and he KNOWS he pretty enough without them anyway, his hair is already more shiny than any gold. i imagine him being high maintenance in ways like all his clothes are simple robes but must be top quality stitching and materials, his stuff is basic in design but always very useful and made with the best materials available.

There's this interesting thing that happens where someone will support people blocking other people for mental wellness, but then when it happens to them (as in they're being blocked), it's no longer ok. I think some things people need to reflect on are:

1. Why is it no longer ok when it happens to you?

2. Does someone else's view of you need to alter or change your view of yourself?

3. If yes to 2, why?

4. Why is your support conditional only when it involves you directly?

None of what I'm saying implies that people who act this way are truly "at fault" for anything; it's just something to think about when you support a concept only to reject it when that concept applies to you.

My one concern for Rlainarin in Wind and Truth, is that like-

yes we are getting more time with Renarin than ever before (which I will forever be ecstatic about) but he is, Yk, still a side character at this point. He’s getting more, but the bar is pretty damn low.

So, I think Sanderson has a difficult thing to balance here. He has to pull off the romance in as satisfying a way possible, while not letting it consume their entire characters in this book. (Take time to note here that while RENARIN is getting more time than ever, Rlain is only promised to be in the Renarin segments. Tbh I’m expecting him to get sorta the same time as in ROW or a bit less.)

so I kind of think, with the time we have, there are two likely options. And I’m probably wrong, but here’s what I think:

A; They have a well fleshed-out (for side characters) romance, that is decently well-written but absorbs their POV chapters a lot and while great, will be a little disappointing because we want them to be doing their own things as well. This is the less likely one.

B; The characters get their own stuff to do with mini-arcs probably, and then get the occasional chapter progressing their romance, which is otherwise kinda background. Bad news with this one is that it may mean we don’t get full closure…. But hey that’s what fanfic is for. Probably more likely.

I think most people would prefer B, and it is more likely, so- yay!

As much as I’d love both options, we have to admit at some point that they are not the main characters (for some reason-) yet at least. Hang in there for another decade Renarin, we’ll get there.

anyway I did not really think this through a whole bunch and I’m not expecting to be right but hey. That’s just a theory.

like why did they change where Vegeta was when Cell announced the cell games in the anime

why did they make this vegeta starting shit with yamcha instead of chillin in the lab with his family? why did they take Bulma out of the lab? Why'd they say she was Out while Dr Brief was repairing 16? Why did they change Bulma working on advanced robotics to running in late with her baby?

it's the same scene except: - Bulma's actively at work being a scientist - Vegeta's not being rude to her (or anyone else!) - Vegeta waits for Trunks instead of leaving the room - Cell interrupted the airwaves, which means Trunks and Vegeta were just hanging out with Bulma and Dr B while they were working

Those are all Great Character Details!! That the anime rails against!!

The way some of people out there are making the most ridiculous hoop to explain/justify why this Season 3 sucks is borderline comical at this point 💀

I've seen some gaslighting comments feigning to not understand why some people found this season "pretentious". IDK, trying to paint the audience as too dumb to properly understand Storer ✨vision✨ sounds pretty pretentious to me lol

Having a "vision" is pointless if you can't convey it properly, to the point of antagonizing your own audience.

In the end of the day, Storer ain't my dad, so I ain't gonna lick his butthole after this mess of a third season just because he pulled out 2 seasons of a show I (initially) enjoyed.

In retrospect, it truly confirms the idea that the mediocrity of White men will instinctively be defended or justified (remember my post about the lingering male worship among Carmy fans?). Like- I'm genuinely confused at the lengths some of the people who've been disappointed by this season go to deny the obvious and be like "oh but maybe in a few months/years we'll like it" mmhhhh....NO??? lmao S3 was wack for a bunch of reasons (that I could easily name), and there's no possible way my mind would suddenly change because I watch it 6 months later.

Oh, and I want you to peep down with the "media literacy" thing. It feels like that's the last trendy buzzword you guys learned about and never shut up about it ever since. Not enjoying a show for various reasons has nothing to do with media literacy and tbh immediately jumping to question the audience intelligence instead of the media that's widely shunned is precisely the pretentiousness that's been talking about just before yet some fans pretend not seeing/understanding, like-
