Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ?
— Isaiah 2:22 (KJV)
Simply a warning to us from God to cease from putting our trust in man; and a call to, instead, place our trust in God as our source of help, hope, and life. The breath of man is extinguished in an instant. Man is, ultimately, unreliable and unworthy of our confidence and of our faith.

‭1 Kings 3:5-143 (GNT‬). “That night the Lord appeared to him in a dream and asked him, “What would you like me to give you?” Solomon answered, “You always showed great love for my father David, your servant, and he was good, loyal, and honest in his relation with you. And you have continued to show him your great and constant love by giving him a son who today rules in his place. O Lord God, you have let me succeed my father as king, even though I am very young and don't know how to rule. Here I am among the people you have chosen to be your own, a people who are so many that they cannot be counted. [9] So give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice and to know the difference between good and evil. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this, and so he said to him, “Because you have asked for the wisdom to rule justly, instead of long life for yourself or riches or the death of your enemies, I will do what you have asked. I will give you more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had before or will ever have again. I will also give you what you have not asked for: all your life you will have wealth and honor, more than that of any other king. And if you obey me and keep my laws and commands, as your father David did, I will give you a long life.”
“Put God’s Priorities First” by In Touch Ministries:
“If we trust God and seek to honor Him in our decisions, we’ll have the chance to see Him work mightily.”
“Imagine if God showed up and said, “What do you want? Ask, and I’ll give it to you.” How would you answer? Most of us would ask for loved ones’ safety, enough money to meet our needs, or a long, healthy life. Solomon may have been tempted to name something similar—but he made a different request. What he wanted was an understanding heart so he could serve God’s people well.
Solomon’s life was full of personal needs and desires not so different from our own. But when given the opportunity to ask God for anything, he prioritized the Lord’s concerns. God was so pleased with the request that He gave Solomon not only wisdom but riches and honor as well (1 Kings 3:13)! This encounter foreshadows Jesus’ words in the Gospel of Matthew: “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you” (Matthew 6:33).
God won’t necessarily give wealth, influence, or long life because we put His priorities first, but He will always be faithful to provide all we need according to His purposes. Solomon’s heart was set on seeking God’s kingdom and righteousness, and the Lord honored that in a multitude of ways—both tangible and intangible. When we make God’s priorities ours, we too will have the chance to see Him work mightily in our life.”

Do you ever wonder how people change right in front of our eyes and we don’t see? A little gap and in walks Satan. And he speaks lies that people believe without giving the benefit of the doubt to their loved one……and they buy the lies hook, line, and sinker. And then they use those lies to plan their next step and in turn, begin lying to their loved one to cover their tracks to f their sin.
I miss the guy who used to be so excited for me to come home from work. The guy that used to send me text messages throughout the day to say he missed me and could wait for me to get home. The guy who used to send me flowers and tell me how he proud he was that I was HIS wife! I miss the guy who loved JESUS and talked about what GOD was doing in his life and how GOD spoke to him through the WORD. Yep, I miss that guy.
We are in the last days and deception by the master deceiver is real! Satan may think he’s won, BUT GOD!! 💪🏻🙏 As hard as this has been, I’m not the same woman I was 33 long months ago. I now know this was allowed for a reason. To strengthen my faith and help me to stand in the gap for my man. Like the woman in Luke 18:1, I’m persistently praying for reconciliation, which GOD promised very early on in my stand. He gave me two promises then a few more throughout these hard years. Every time I want to give in or give up, HE sends a message to me that I’m so close to breakthrough and I should not give up!
Some things I learned along the way:
Our spouse is not our enemy! We have one and his name is Satan! Don’t confuse the two!
My husband deserves my respect whether I feel like it or not. Yes, respect is earned, but I was severely lacking in this before all this happened. I’ve learned honor and respect.
Serving my spouse is my privilege as HIS wife.
Satan is actively trying to destroy my marriage and he knows EXACTLY what to dangle in front of my husband to divert his attention away from JESUS.
Spiritual warfare is real and only prayer and standing on the WORD as it is written can change the situation!
Nothing is hidden from God and nothing is too hard for him - no matter how it looks right now!
GOD is bigger than any problem we have. Greater is HE that is in me than he that is in the world!!!!
GOD is able!!!
HE won’t allow this season to be for naught! HE is working behind the scenes and HE will have the final word. While HE won’t force my spouse to turn from sin, HE can make him want to! I’m counting on that.
I meant every wedding vow I spoke before GOD and I’m cling to GOD with everything in me! ✝️
This post is just me sharing some of my struggles as a stander. I will not give in or give up! I may cry big tears, BUT GOD knows and sees everyone!
