thinking about haikaveh's relationship from the archon quest to a parade of providence being based upon misunderstandings and kaveh actively wanting to avoid confrontation with alhaitham, or disparaging him
and then from a parade of providence onwards, kaveh actively seeking out conversation with alhaitham, feeling comfortable enough to recount his day, drink wine and share snacks together, voluntarily studying together as they had done in the past, calling their shared house a 'home', and going out of his way to search for alhaitham just to tell him about something interesting that happened
their gradual progression has led to them becoming equal companions, and it feels so so deserving - especially with them being perceived as a unit: a unique, exceptional pair (thank you sethos)
yet another case of zoro why are you looking at him like that. zoro. zoro. i'm waving my hand in your face. zoro look me in the eyes WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT HIM LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how many of you would get mad at me if i said that mulder fucking another woman while wearing scully’s crucifix necklace is one of the most romantic things to ever happen….like, gothically and punitively so….it’s like….well, it’s like…it’s like “aw boohoo he has to get laid because he’s so sad his partner is gone” but like for a person who never allows themself any indulgence or respite or attention, who therefore only has sex as penance. only in blood. and it’s like…yes, it’s self-harm, in many ways, but in many ways it is also confession. crucifixion, as a laying down of sin. bless me father, for i can’t save them, and i miss them anyway. crucifixion as being watched over…when he asked maggie, “why did she wear this?” and maggie answered, “because i gave it to her.”
we're all so distracted by the norm-scary parallels we're blinded to the reality that link is the one turning into early-season scary right under our noses
something about this scene...... boeing is technically saying things that should work in top's favor, and top doesn't have the kind of ego where he would deny that because we've already seen him cry in front of mew and tell him that he was wrong and he loves him so much. so why is he so uncomfortable? why does he argue with boeing? because he knows boeing and he knows that he's not doing it to help him out - he knows that boeing's going to find a way to use it against him.
AND HE DOES! he uses it as an opening to flirt with mew!! right in front of their salads!!!!
and i have a hard time believing that this obvious sense of unease that top feels around boeing, even when they're alone, came just from after their breakup - which sounds like it was meant to be amiable - but was present throughout their relationship. i have a hard time believing that top "ditched" boeing like he claims when this is how he acts, putting him down even when they're alone. it can't just be revenge if top can see it coming from this far away.
Something that really pisses me off about the Amber Heard Johnny Depp situation that I never articulated is how it demonstrated people’s lack of shame in blatantly moving the goal post in believing women who are sexually/physically assaulted.
At first, when people wanted to defend the fact that they don’t believe victims, it was “well, *insert name of man accused* would never do that, it’s not in his character. He’s a good guy who hasn’t hurt anyone, so I find this unbelievable. He doesn’t even hang out in bad crowds either.”
Yet Depp was known to be an awful person by the people he worked around. He was known to be an alcoholic who struggled with drinking too much and getting really mean after drinking. He’s literally even friends with people of the likes of Marilyn Manson. Yet, people did not take this as a reason to consider not praising Depp and humiliating Heard during the trials.
Then people started turning to “well, I’m not gonna believe just one woman, because she could have any motive to want to do this to hurt someone, but if there are multiple women accusing the man then it’s believable.”
Yet, multiple people, including SOs & coworkers/past employees of Depp have described his yelling, physically harmful and intimidating behavior, and emotional abuse. However, this didn’t stop anyone from praising him and humiliating Heard.
Then it became “well, let me at least see some proof, like texts or pictures of injuries. Then I will believe you.” Both of these things came out proving Depp to be a terrible person - I mean what kind of person says over text that they desire to r*pe a woman’s [Heard’s] dead body if not the type of person to be abusive? Yet, no one took this as a clue that they might be wrong for riding for Depp and tearing down Heard.
[edit] I also want to add that it seems like our goal post has moved fully to “well if a woman has a shit ton of proof to demonstrate that she was abused by a man, I’m not going to believe her until she can somehow prove that she was never abusive to him” like?? That’s like telling someone to prove that there is no invisible flying pink elephant in the room. If no one has accused her of abuse, why would she need to, and how would she be able to, prove that she has never been abusive? And this will never get applied to male celebrities who accuse a woman of being abusive jsyk.
Here’s my hypothesis: two groups exist among these goal post movers, being 1) those who will decide to believe the man under any circumstance unless they are literally physically present to see the abuse happening, and 2) those who DO believe that the man is abusive [regardless of public ally pretending that they don’t] and just simply do not care that they are abusive.
AU where Franka doesn't get approval for the transfer and instead has to cut and run to Rhodes Island alone. Liskarm just misses finding out and isn't able to follow. and then they reunite some years down the line for whatever reason, Franka happy at Rhodes Island but still a little lonely and Liskarm saying she's fine but being at Blacksteel for so long has made her colder and harsher and just plain miserable.
(it isn't all bad, she at least has Jessica and Vanilla, but they can't get under her skin the way Franka could. Liskarm swears that Franka would get under skin sometimes just to dig out the bad feelings.)
(and Franka has people. she's surrounded by people she cares about. operators cut from the same cloth as her, that will charge headlong into battle beside her. colleagues who will nag her about sleeping and eating and training and mission parameters. friends who will rag on her for her choice of reading material. but Liskarm was all of those things rolled into one. and she is not here)
Thinking about Dapper's sign again and how so much is said with so little...
The text on the sign is clear, saying that Dapper misses everyone, even his uncle Foolish who he always jokes about but clearly adores. But to those who don't know Dapper it's a bit strange, right? That Dapper would mention everyone generally, and specifically Foolish, instead of his dad? But really... it doesn't mention Bad at all exactly because of how much Dapper cares. Because just like his dad, Dapper hides how deeply he feels and often struggles to express himself, choosing instead to mix his genuine feelings with humor.
The sign is a message to everyone, it expresses his true feelings in a limited way, but the brownies... Those are a secret message to Bad, and Bad alone.
Because the only one who understands what those actually mean, and how deeply they cut, is Bad. Only Bad now knows that even in this situation, where the kids are kidnapped or fleeing for their lives, in danger and afraid and unable to come home... Dapper is thinking about how much pain their disappearance is causing Bad, so much so that when given the chance to send a single message, Dapper, in typical Dapper fashion, figures out a way to send two.
This might sound insane but does anyone have the clip of Awsten with steam coming off him after the show at the theater of living arts in Philly in like 2021?
oh that was what i'm pretty sure was an instagram story after the show and that was geoff lol they were all really sweaty during that show and geoff was drenched by the end of it.
i can't find it so as a consolation prize you get a see you in the future video that shows how sweaty geoff was and a stupid comic i gave to jawn
Also it's more math based test but really simple topics which are unnecessarily complicated. Very speed and intuition based, is basically for admission in business school after my Bachelors.

yeah, that will be practice 😭 maybe you'll be able to find old/similar tests to solve them and find stuff to solve that's on similar level. just solve them until you can do it in your sleep i fear
ok not to put too fine a point on it but! but!!! there's something deeply funny to me (ha-ha funny and "hm, interesting" funny) about how Phineas and Larks' relationship is comprised of meetings and partings. their journey through s2 is repeated instances of them going "well, I guess this is the end of the road together, goodbye forever" only for Third Person to be like "ten minutes later, Lark caught up with Phineas and insisted that they were just traveling the same way, don't make a big deal out of it". and this happens, like, THREE SEPARATE TIMES, before Lark catches up to him in the s2 finale and explicitly says, "I'm coming with you."
and! like! Lark is old and cynical and Phineas is young and idealistic- and more to the point, Phineas is that awkward age where he is young enough to be in need of guidance (so young. he is baby. baby boy) but also old enough that Lark won't feel pressured to be his mother (like she did with Tzila). and to be VERY clear, I don't want Lark to be Phineas's mom. (reluctant older sister? maybe. crotchety old aunt? sure.) but most of all I just want them be- well- friends! I just! think it would be neat!
