Humans are Vulcan catnip, I swear to Q.
Spock and Kirk: No need to explain. In any universe they are drawn together and Spock abandons any sense of rationality if his Captain is hurt or just looks at him sweetly.
Sarek and Amanda: Admitted he married Amanda for love, not logic. Then made Spock.
Solkar and Zefram: Ten seconds off the spaceship and Solkar decides to do the diplomatic thing and make out with this human.
Surak and Archer: Archer was given Surak's katra without his knowledge and when T'Pau attempted to extract him Surak clung to the mental doorframe because he was safer here and he liked it better here, despite the logic of being housed in a nice logical Vulcan mind instead.
Solok and Sisko: Solok abandoned all pretense of logic when he won a wrestling match with a young Sisko and became so obsessed with him that he taught an entire Vulcan Starfleet crew how to play baseball just so he could beat Sisko again.
T'Pol and Trip: T'Pol became so attached to the Enterprise crew that she gave up her military career with Vulcan to continue to serve as First Officer, and to keep close with her boyfriend.
Tuvok and Janeway: Tuvok is fiercely loyal to Janeway, to the point that he will go along with her illogical plans just because he has such great faith in her.
Soval and Forrest: Soval respected Forrest but when Forrest died saving Soval it uprooted what loyalty he had left to the Vulcan High Command (who he then realised was corrupt) and he went rogue trying to save Vulcan from itself. (Really watch for the nose flare when he talks to Archer next to Forrest's casket, that Vulcan is pissed.)

What I think should've happened in that TOS episode where Jim and Spock meet Zefram Chochrane who's having what he thought was a casual interspecies bromance as he's used to but turns out to be just straight romance, written as a crude script because I'm lazy:
Spock: great-uncle Zefram. I did not think I would ever meet you but I am glad to have been wrong. I am sure making your aquaintance will be interesting.
Chochrane: fuck you mean uncle? I don't have siblings and my parents sure weren't in a state to make any when I left.
Spock: did Solkar not inform you of his decision to make you an honory member of his clan?
Chochrane: unless I hit my head a little harder than I thought when I landed here, he sure as hell didn't. So, what, you're related to Solkar?
Spock: indeed. I am his great-grandson, to be exact.
Chochrane: way to make a guy feel old. I didn't know Solkar saw me as a brother.
Spock: the term brother does not quite convey what his decision is meant to signify but it is the closest approximation in your language.
This shower thought has been brought to you by "Oh shit, my shampoo's almost empty and I don't think we have another bottle! Goddammit."

Extremely funny that Zeffy Cockrain or whatever the hell the dude who invented the warp drive is, is from a country that does hand shakes as a form of greeting. Like he could've been from any other place on earth that does cheek kisses, bowing, hand on the heart, or any other various greetings earth has that doesn't involve hand contact. But the Vulcans just got incredibly unlucky (or lucky wink wink solkar) that the guy who discovered the warp drive was from a region of earth that does full on hand make-out french kissing sessions as a hello gesture.

OK so we know that Spock is directly descended from Solkar, the Vulcan who made first contact with humans.
Well, what if he's also descended from/related to Zefram Cochrane on Amanda's side?
Alternatively, what if James T. Kirk is a descendant/relative of Zefram Cochrane?

Alternate history where Zefram offers a handshake and Solkar goes in for a hug & they both emerge from that encounter thinking they chose the least homoerotic interaction.

i know that there’s been many blue eyed actors who have played vulcans, but i’d like to think that the blue eye mutation just doesn’t exist for them. there are no blue eyed vulcans. all brown, actually. maybe a little hazel as a treat.
when they first saw zefram cochrane they said fascinating with .2% more vigor than the standard intonation

Before becoming an actor, Glenn Corbett served in the Navy. Shortly after his release, like many young sailors, Corbett posed nude for Bob Miser.
As an actor he costarred in a number of westerns with John Wayne. But he may be best known for playing the role of Zefram Cochrane (the inventor of the Warp drive) in the episode “Metamorphosis” during the second season of Star Trek TOS.

This Side of Paradise: The Enterprise investigates a planet whose colonists should be dead, but are not. (Vague description: it’s the one where they all get drugged up on happiness-inducing spores besides Jim, and Jim has to convince Spock to come back to the Enterprise by insulting him.)
Metamorphosis: While returning to the Enterprise aboard the shuttlecraft, Kirk, Spock, McCoy and a seriously ill Federation diplomat find themselves kidnapped by an energized cloud.
The longest round, Round 2, is done! Remember to vote on the other polls in this round, listed here. Make sure to check back tomorrow for info on Round 3 since we have some really great and difficult matchups coming!
