WHAT do I say to someone who just will not stop giving me medical advice?! Advice on my diet, on exercise, on how I shouldn’t be on meds, should meditate more… I have to be civil because he’s a part of the family I actually like and want to be around. I just don’t know what I’m supposed to say as a boundary that won’t create a rift in the whole family 😭

Side notes:

I wrapped Yule gifts today! My shoulder still hurts a lot. But I can move it more. I did however get really stiff sitting on the floor and stretching isn’t helping. Heated blanket is not bad though. Actually very good. 10/10.

I wish people would give a warning ‼️ before talking about commonly triggering things! I don’t need to write them here, you know what I’m talking about. I was in a meeting tonight and a coworker brought one of those topics up, and I had to mask my way through the rest of my meeting.

We watched Babes in Toyland and White Christmas tonight! I love old musicals. They do unfortunately have a lot of disrespectful scenes, for example Babes in Toyland has extensive scenes about the Romani people and the g slur. Not ideal. I usually focus on the choreography and not the lessons of these films…

I stopped into a stream where they were talking about funerals, and the streamer was so respectful of everyone’s cultures! She is Chinese. I felt comfortable to share my feelings on Druids and funeral rites. Immediate follow. She was also speaking mandarin as a channel point redeem when I came in, so I got to listen for a bit! I like mandarin a lot, but if I were to learn one Asian language I would like it to be Korean so I could understand the Korean films I love so much in the original language!

Stability: idk I forgot my tracker again today but probably 3/5

So for my dad's yule gift this year, I'm giving him a custom Toblerone, bc it's his favourite candy bar.

But I'm going to write this, so it's just 'Toblerone' and 'Chocolate' misspelled.

And I'm going to see how long it takes him to notice.

This Yuletide, Caoimhe recieved two gifts from Valeriu: a Dokkalfar cookbook, which was less of a traditional cook book, and more of a grimoire containing all sorts of strange and wonderous concoctions - how to use every bit of the shadhavar, how to make toadstool sweet and savory pie, how to make steamed jungle isopod, how to create phantasma tree bark extract, and how to make wisteria wine without making poison and killing everyone you know (bonus: super poisonous edition for assassinations) all included! The second gift was even more special -- included in a velvet box was a crystaline tiara, with polished garnets, crystaline quartz and white pearls:

He thought such a headpiece would be fitting for a Seelie winter goddess! Hanging out of the box is a tiny note reading: "Blessed Yuletide, Caoimhe! - Love, Valeriu"

Caoimhe is absolutely thrilled when she sees the book. Eyes sparkling with excitement she immediately opens it up to thumb through the pages. Going so far as to decide on a recipe to try and conjuring up a few sprigs of lemongrass to use as a bookmark for the spot.

Then she catches the sight of the velvet box. Her head cocks to the side as she reaches for it. Opening up the box to find the tiara she stills a bit. She had recieved jewelry amongst the offerings of her people and worshippers before but this was special. This was from Vali. This would be kept in her special alcove where she kept her secret things. Her lover's gifts.

"Och... tis beautiful!" The Owl Goddess puts it on amongst the wreath of frosted holly, berries, and pine sprigs that were growing out of her head that made up her natural crown. She settled the tiara in place like it was always meant to be there and warbled happily.

Vali best believe she is going to wear that for weeks, and when she sees him next she's going to scoop him up, kiss his face all over, and slow dance with him. Which she doesn't often do.
