Loid is great because not only does he heal the part of me that needs to see men be good kind fathers but also another layer of seeing a man genuinely respecting and caring for his fake wife.
(Two things I greatly lacked in childhood)

I was flipping through the manga today. Check out Twilight’s very consistent little sigh and smile he has whenever he is proud or fond of his family members:
Anya:
Yor:
Bond:
Bond got two smiles in just one chapter! Which I think is interesting, because Twilight is most “himself” with Bond because, well, Bond is a dog and there is no need to hide anything.
A theory I’ve heard, and very much agree with is… at this point in the manga, Twilight is trying to distance himself from his family. This is because of what happened with Wheeler and Yuri. He’s struggling with his emotions because he thinks they are a weakness, and, deep down, he doesn’t believe he is allowed to be feeling any affection for his fake family. He’s been a little colder, to Anya specifically.
Nevertheless, he had a small version of his proud/fond smile for Anya recently, bro can’t help himself:
I hesitate to include this one, because it’s right after his fight with Wheeler and Yuri, my man is going through some stuff, and I’m not sure how genuine this smile is. But I still think it’s important. Directed at Yor:
So yeah, I think these are the most authentic smiles of the man underneath all the fake personas and acting. And it’s a smile full of genuine affection and care, directed at only three individuals in the entire series. He doesn’t smile like this for anyone else, ever. There are a bunch of other smiles he gives his family that I think are still very much real, but these little ones are my favorite. I think Endo is drawing these little smiles throughout the series on purpose, it’s not hard to imagine why.

Dog Dad Loid
So, I just reread some chapters and can I just say...
It might be the mask, but Twilight looks like he’s about to cry. This man is all to willing to go all John Wick for a dog that’s still alive. This whole chapter better get an Anya’s castle/Loidman style sequence when it’s animated. Please. I’ve been on my best behavior.
This is also just another example of Twilight being a genuinely kind person. I know this is pretty well established at this point. My guy wouldn’t shoot to kill a dog launching itself to attack him while wearing a bomb. Getting vengeance on the people who abused his dog in the past isn’t out of the ordinary for someone of his type, but the fact he took Bond-who in his mind is completely untrained for any kind of combat-with him is going the extra mile.
Lastly, there is the “abused you and your friends” line which... it’s very hard to reread old chapters after Twilight’s war flashbacks and not get a little bit into the feelings whenever Twilight talks about someone’s friends and whoever might’ve hurt them in some way.
I could probably go on about this comedy focused chapter, but I think I’ll go pet my dog instead. Good boy deserves pets.

Spy x Family Episodes 13-15: The Dog Saga
So, these ones were sorta one long saga, so I'll be putting my notes in one long post. These episodes removed any doubt in my mind that this was one of my favorite shows I've ever seen.
Hey, new intro! This is so cute, I love it.
But this one shot gives me thoughts. I have so many questions about her past, and I can't stop wondering.
Yor is so bad at cooking, but at least she tries. She's not great at the traditional motherly stuff, but she's still amazing in her own way.
Those pet shop dogs have more abs than I do. I'm not afraid of getting biten by them, I'd be afraid of getting punched. Jeez.
Well, okay, maybe not. Those teeth look like buzz saws, so I'm definitely still afraid of getting biten, too.
Anya trying to help her Papa with his spy stuff without him knowing she's trying to help is always amazing.
"I'm not sure if I'm changing or if its just the times, but a kid like this being a terrorist is a hard pill to swallow"
That just says so much about how much his family has changed him. He can't see things the way he used to.
This dog looks like a cross between a fluffly dog, a polar bear and an otter, and he has the voice of an elderly human man. I love him already.
And he can see the future. Fun.
WHY DO WE HAVE MORE BACKSTORY ABOUT THE DOG THAN WE DO ABOUT ANYA?
Also, how to you get future vision from trying to science the dogs to be smarter? How does that work? I would understand if it was based on knowledge, but he's predicting Lloyd's death before he ever met him.
Those dogs ARE smart! If you aren't afraid of an angry Yor, then you're dumb. They no better than to mess with her after she turned the last fuy into a living bouncy ball. Human bodies are not supposed to move like that.
Anya just saved the world by drawing on a wall with ketchup. And nobody knows it was her.
Anya is SMART. She knows how to get her way. She knows the agency will ho along with almost anything to keep her happy and keep operation stryx on track. Because she knows about it in the first place, she knows she can make empty threats to derail the mission as a final trump card. We know she wouldn't, she wants to keep her family the way it is. But they don't know what's going on in her 4-year-old brain.
THEY'RE TOO CUTE I JUST CAN'T!
I'm not okay my heart is a puddle on the floor I love them so much-
So, I feel like there HAS to be some big reveal eventually. There's no way that doesn't end up causing problems. And I refuse to believe the whole "just leave the family behind and go to the next mission" plan was ever ACTUALLY on the table, even if he thought it was.
I think it's gonna end with either Lloyd quiting/retiring from the agency, or with the whole family becoming a part of it. Yor is already well suited for most of that stuff, and Anya has proven she can do the whole mission thing... well, as well as a kid her age can. Still, there's no way the family breaks up. No possible way.
And after getting that little bit of backstory from Handler, I think she'd actually be pretty understanding of either option. Looking forward to seeing how everything plays out.
So far, my only real complaint is how little we've seen of Yor. I mean, we see her as a mother, and she's amazing, but her whole assasin thing is just... there? Like, we know she’s doing that in the background, and she’s done a lot of impressive things, but we almost never see her as an assasin. She's the only one really out of the loop with the whole Operation Stryx thing, and with everything focusing on Lloyd and Anya, she doesn't get nearly as much time to shine. I really like her, but it feels like the show has been doing a lot of telling without much showing. It's not like we haven't seen anything, but it would be nice for her to have a little more time to shine.

you know loid overheard from his neighbors that kids need to bask in fun activities like egg hunts & stuff & it's a shame if parents don't do that for their kids , so his immediate thought that he'll be seen as a bad dad / have his identity discovered if he doesn't create an elaborate egg hunting game for anya & he stays up late filling up eggs & creating the perfect basket for her right before easter.

Spy x Family Chapter 103: Peace and Family
How nice it was to see the Forgers go on an outing again!
A few things to notice...
I'll start with Twiyor hehehe:
This is easily my favorite panel in the chapter. They're getting closer and closer!! Loid sits first, Yor follows. She's not shy about siting next to him. Good for you, Yor! 👏
See how comfortable they are with each other? She has a soft smile and he's not pretending anything; he's just there, existing. By the way, observe their body language: Both of Yor's knees are pointing at her husband, she's also leaning slightly towards him. Twilight, on the other hand, sits at a more neutral position, still it's an open position. Notice how one of his knees is pointing at her too. And their hands are mirroring each other.
It's worth mentioning that Yor is such a good influence on Twilight. This man suffers from anxiety and it's hard for him to turn his brain off and just relax. Yor reminds him of this. She is his peace 😌
And look at Twilight being honest with his wife and admitting something very true about himself (that it's hard for him to stay still). I believe that every time Twilight is honest with Yor, they get closer. In this chapter there wasn't even a fake twiyor moment for this to happen. We're making progress!
Also, did you notice Yor teased Loid?
It is the sacred duty of a wife to tease her husband and call him old every once in a while 🤣 I'm glad Yor is finally fulfilling this fun wifely obligation 😆
All joking aside, it's pretty obvious Yor feels much more comfortable with Loid now. When they are with other people, she still gets nervous, probably because she thinks she could mess up and blow their cover. However, when they are alone, she seems much more relaxed and able to make comments like this that show that she trusts Loid enough to joke with him, to tell him in between lines that she notices things about him (just as he notices everything about her) and that she worries about him too.
Endo is a master of "show, don't tell" and he's been showing us how Twilight and Yor are getting closer little by little. It's in every detail: their body language, the way they talk to each other, the words they use, how they see each other.
Another example in this chapter? Twilight is incapable of saying "no" to his wife hehehe.
Yup, he still has that shoujo filter attached to his eyes when it comes to Yor.
Now that we have overanalyzed Twiyor, it's time for some crazy theories.
This could be important!
Don't you find it funny that each gave a different answer according to their experience?
Yor feels lonely, because she doesn't feel like she's normal enough to belong to society and it's hard for her to make friends.
Twilight got separated from his his herd. His family and friends died and he had to go to a different country, where he is scared and feels in constant danger just like Belle.
AND ANYA?! I'm wondering if this is a clue. I'm wondering if Anya is a missing person, meaning someone is looking for her, whether it's Project Apple or her biological family.
Talking about Project Apple, we seem to get crumbs every once in a while. I believe it's still too early to get an arc that will actually involve Anya and Project Apple together, but we'll know more as the story moves forward. It's a good sign that Project Apple is in Twilight's mind; he has good instincts for this. We may see him or Yor get involved with it in one of their missions before we learn Anya's past. OR either of her parents may discover what Project Apple is really about without knowing one of the test subjects is their own daughter.
Something that Anya has said several times is that her parents are dangerous people. It's easy to forget about this, but it's true. Twilight and Yor are very dangerous, but not for Anya. The day they find out someone hurt their little girl, it'll be a very bad day for all the people who participated in Project Apple.

In addition to Yor's epiphany scene, this scene was the other one I was most looking forward to in season 2 - a scene that, in my opinion, is one of the most Twiyor-ish scenes in the series so far 💖
Why is it so significant? Because there was no reason for Twilight to put on any Loid Forger acting in that moment. He wasn't conversing with nor being scrutinized by anyone. So why would he give that soft smile followed by such affectionate, comforting words as "お疲れ様/otsukaresama"? (this can be translated in many ways, but generally it's something you say to thank someone for their hard work).
The answer is because it's something he truly felt...he understood the sacrifice Yor made for Anya's happiness and genuinely appreciated it (if only he knew the sacrifice she made on the larger scale, lol). While he's a bit perturbed at first since some onlookers were snickering at him, it didn't take long for him to soften and then graciously carry his queen and princess the girls back to the ship 😭
But Twilight overall was really soft in this episode and I loved it~ From his blush upon seeing Yor to the several times he gave that same soft smile when talking with/looking at her...I think Anya was right when she called him out on the ship about missing his wife 😅
I liked how the anime conveyed his shock when noticing her bruised face...what must have been his thought at that moment? 👀
The scenes of the family activities translated better in animated form in my opinion. While they were each only a single panel in the manga, they lasted a few seconds each in the anime, plus the addition of the insert song helped the with the comfy, wholesome vibe~ Also the part where Yor inadvertently chucks Anya across the ocean is still hilarious.
Loid's dorky skip at the beginning of the episode translated very well in animated form too 😅
The ending of this chapter in the manga always felt a bit rushed to me...it quickly jumps from the aforementioned scene of them returning to the ship, to suddenly being home, reuniting with Bond and Franky, having a meal together, then Twilight meeting Sylvia, all within a few panels. Even though I wish the anime added more than just some additional scenes of the ship leaving the island, I felt it flowed much better in the anime since, just like the family activities, each scene in the ending lasted a second or two instead of being a single illustration.
But I love how this chapter/episode ends, with Yor, Anya, and Bond napping while Anya draws about her family vacation. This seems to take place the next day or maybe later the same day they got home, so makes sense they'd still be tired from the trip!
By the way, the manga has this additional scene showing that Olka and company are safe. Weird that the anime didn't stick it in at some point.
Also, the anime team didn't have to go so hard with this episode's key visual but they did...and I love it 😍 Might actually be my favorite of the key visuals so far!
I was very happy to see the "surrounded by liars" panel finally animated! This is such a funny scene and a great way to fully wrap up the cruise arc.
I also burst out laughing at Yuri's locker 🤣
Damian is surprisingly laid back in this episode. I think the reason is because Anya's antics aren't directly involving him. He tends to go total tsundere only when she's actually talking to him, lol.
The new scene of Yor getting the keychains for her coworkers was a nice addition! Guess it's canon that Yor and Anya didn't sleep for the entire trip back, lol. Glad they got to spend family time on the ship too! (though I wish we could have seen Yor's reaction waking up in Loid's bottom bunk bed, haha. He must have brought her to his room since he wouldn't know where her room is. Unless she woke up before he even put her in a bed, in which case she would have been super embarrassed knowing he was carrying her around in public 😆)
Looks like next week the anime will be changing the order of things a bit and giving us the Becky home-wrecking and Fiona chapters (the latter of which seems to have some anime original content?) The Becky chapter is one of my favorite stand-alone chapters...I'm already dying of laugher thinking about it 😂

My Spyxfamily retcon is that Yor is actually really close with Bond and she’s his favorite.
She give him raw meat that she gets from the local butcher (sometimes it’s scraps but sometimes it real premium meat left overs)
Yor grew up in a mountainous area she was used to walking long distances but ever since she moved to the city she hasn’t had much reason to but now she has Bond and so every Saturday morning they go on a little hike alone
Yor also picks him up like a baby and carries him around which he really likes (makes him feel like a puppy again)
She also obviously brushes his hair and showers him which dogs love
She also loves throwing food at him while she’s eating (much to Loid’s, who’s trying to keep him on a diet, frustration)
During the day he’s normally playing with Anya or training with Loid so a lot of people think they aren’t that close but he actually most of his time with Yor just chilling.
Yor doesn’t wear perfumes or anything so her room has a neutral smell so Bond likes sleeping by her the most
He especially loves cuddling up with her and she uses him like a big fluffy pillow but most nights he sleeps on her bed next to her
Also she’s the only one that lets him on the bed (Anya tried but her bed’s too small for everyone and Loid would come in and run him)
Yor comes home early after work but often leaves late in the night for “extra work activities” so she normally comes home pretty late so Bond waits at the door for her
Yor is normally the one to give him his medicine so he’s also a bit afraid of her raw strength

Every time Yor embraces and holds Anya in her arms, it will always be one of my favorite moments in the series.
It's just so heartwarming to see.
Yor is indeed such a mother to Anya 🥺
