Day 11: Intense Moment?

I guess, from all of the intense moments so far, almost all of the fans will agree that the final scene in chapter 82 is the most intense moment.

I mean, really. Look at that broken plate, and also, the drops of blood. Those two things really made the scene became dramatically intense.

Yeah, dramatic, because that scene is quite common in drama series, if I'm not mistaken.

Day 12: Best Moment of Your Favorite Character?

Hmm, then it means the best moment of Anya, right?

Even so, can I mention two moments here?

The first one was when she was inspired by Twilight's main reason to become a spy and saying this.

Quite funny, because she was a kid herself, but at least she knows just how important this goal is.

Another one was, of course, when she got her third Stella Star by becoming the second place in classical language's final exam.

Aww, I was so proud of her.

Spy x Family 30 Day Challenge

Day 1: How did you get to know Spy x Family?

I found out about it when the anime aired and got really popular. I don't remember what exactly got me interested, I just know a bunch of edits popped up on my fyp. I thought Anya was pretty cute and it sounded somewhat interesting so I gave it a chance.

I found the show cute and funny but wasn't sure if I wanted to stick around. That is, until I watched the dodgeball episode. I kid you not, i laughed non-stop while watching ep 10. That was the episode that convinced me this is a show worth watching. It was also the episode that made like Damian as a character and shifted my perspective on him.

After cour 1 ended, I was bummed, but was willing to wait for the anime to continue. But then I started seeing panels from the manga on my Pinterest. I wasn't sure I wanted to get into the manga since it was quite long (I started reading when ch 65 came out), but the panels from the first contact with Donovan got me hooked.

And the rest is history!

Day 11: Intense Moments?

There are several intense moments memorable to me up until now.

If I have to choose one, then it's these ending during the Mole hunting arc chapter 82.

I mean, there were guns aimed at each other. There was a gun being shot sfx. And then there was "the plate crashing scene" followed by a cut wound caused by said plate crash that happened to Yor.

I don't know if this is a custom belief in western countries, but to us Asian, these combination of events usually believed to be a very very bad omen. These type of event usually leads to a very bad / disasterous event happened to the loved ones (usually said love one dies).

In this case, since it happened to Yor, it means something bad happened to one or both of the most important men in her life: Loid and/or Yuri.

And then Endo deliberately showed us the blood dripping. A lot of blood.

And then Yor said "I wonder if Loid will be coming home late tonight."

Those series of panels leads me to be so very afraid that Loid might be severely injured so that he has to be extracted from Strix for sometime, or died. (however impossible that will happen due to plot armor if we think about it logically 🤣)

I never felt so devastated and impatient to know what will happen at the next chapter.

Endo is soo good at storry telling. 🥰

Day 8: Yor Forger (Spy x Family)

I'm about five days behind, but I saw a SXF 30 day challenge on my dash and I thought I'd join in!

DAY ONE: How did you get to know Spy x Family?

Well, it's kind of a funny one for me. I went out on a day trip with my cosplay friends back in September, we were sat outside of a coffee shop, and all of the sudden my two friends who are very much into it had suggested that I would make a good Yor and we ought to do a cosplay group. The thing is, I lost interest in anything anime or manga related about over a decade ago now, I just could never fully get into anything that wasn't Madoka Magica, but they showed me a Yor compilation and I just fell in love with her. And now long story short, I am absolutely hooked on SXF and have started putting together my Yor cosplay for our group that'll happen some point this year!

DAY TWO: Favourite character?

At first it was Yor, and whilst I do still adore her now, Twilight/Loid Forger has completely taken over. I love the complexities of Twilight and how slowly but surely the lines are blurring between both him and his Loid Forger persona.

DAY THREE: Least favourite character?

If I have to be honest, I think it's Yuri. He's just a bit much...? Although some scenes of his can be a little amusing (when he meets Loid for the first time and when he tutors Anya), I feel like he's just so full on and needs to just back off a bit.

DAY FOUR: Favourite opening?

It has to be the first opening! It's the drama of it all, and the style at the first few seconds is absolutely amazing. I adore the song as well!

I do also love the change in art style too, it's so cute???

DAY FIVE: Favourite ending?

My favourite ending has to be S1's. I like the style and the creativity of it. I like how we see things from Anya's perspective and the contrast between the world outside and inside the Forger's home through colouring and lack of colouring. I don't know, it's just very creative and symbolic and I love it. I do love the part that shows Anya, Yor and Loid dancing most though. It's Yor and Loid throw finger guns at her for me. 🥹

Spy x Family 30 Day Challenge

Day 2: Favourite character?

Very predictably, Twilight. I am not immune to the broody protagonist who pushes his feelings away until they start spilling out of him.

One of my favourite things to do with fiction is literary analysis. And Twilight's character is full of juicy details that are begging to be analyzed. The whole way he works as a character while lacking an identity is so compelling, because whether he likes it or not, whether he realizes it or not, his true feelings and motivations manage to bleed through. And I just love finding all the moments and all the ways that this happens.

Also, as a character in general he hits a lot of my blorbo buttons: emotional backstory that motivates his present actions, a deep empathy and care for humanity (that he'd say he doesn't show himself but it's something he values and fights for), potential for Great Whump, and of course the Sad Eyes™.

Lastly, I'm not sure if it's because I've developed some writing experience over the years, but when it comes to writing fanfic, Twilight has not only been the most compelling of my blorbos to write, but also the one I "get" the most, the one I've felt the most comfortable writing in comparison to other characters. He's definitely not the easiest! Especially when you want him to not only realize but also admit to himself that he's grown feelings for his family. But I feel that this challenge is part of his charm.

Overall, he's interesting, deep, emotional, and very very very inspiring. Absolute delight of a character to analyze and to love. Mwah.

Day 12:

Best moment for your favorite character?

Well my favorites are Mr. and Mrs. Forger so first, I’m going to go with a shippy moment. And this was insane.

Sometimes I’m like “😭 Maybe there’s not a lot of romance in Spy x Family 😭” and then I remember this shit happened. I can’t believe he saw her smile and collapsed in relief, his strength zapped from his body. I can’t believe she told him she wanted to take care of him and be the person he could rely on. 🤯

And then they sit there like a married couple and Twilight gives her his sigh and smile and then admits she’s a weakness and then the line “I live in a world in which only the perfect survive..” is there as Yor smiles at him all sweet, as if he’s looking at her and thinking she is perfect and I- 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

Okay. But I think I’ll also include their individual best moments imo.

Yor:

Yor’s battle on top of the cruise ship obviously. She killed all those assassins and looked badass while doing it. I loved her resolve, her dedication to protect. I loved the little funny moments of silly Yor, like the jammed fingers. And how she found her motivation thinking of her family was so emotionally satisfying. It’s incredible. I am begging on my knees for another Yor centered arc. Please.

Twilight:

Twilight’s moment is badass in a completely different way. It was so cool to see his first meeting with Donovan and how effortlessly he played the role as Loid Forger, seamlessly lying and quickly picking up information and acting accordingly, steering this small conversation in a memorable way for the mission. Can’t wait to see what happens next between them.

Day 3: Least Favorite Character?

Well, if it's about the characters who appear in more than one chapter or episode, I guess I can't answer this one, because almost all of them have their own likable personalities.

Fiona, for example. I don't really like the Campbelldon arc, where she was appeared at the first time, but I like to see her action in chapter 60 and in the mole arc, so I can't say that she's my least favorite.

Not just Fiona, but also those characters who possibly become the least favorite characters for many people in the fandom, such as Yuri, Damian and his lackeys, Yor's co-workers at the City Hall, etc. etc. I just can't bring myself to dislike them all.

There's only one character who I possibly choose, who none other than Donovan Desmond, but at this point, I think it's just too early for me to say that my least favorite character is him. We can't predict if there'll be a plot twist or not, like, who knows if there would be someone who's worse than him or is the real main antagonist later on.

However, if it's including the characters who only appeared in a chapter or episode, I guess Mr. Henderson knows about my answer...

Of course, it's Mr. Murdoch Swan, because he's the only teacher from Eden who seems... not really that educative, unlike the other teachers. It isn't only because he made Anya cried at the interview, but also because of his nepotism. I really hate him. Thankfully, he just appeared in that interview chapter/episode, because if he appeared again in the future chapter(s), I would just ignore his existence there.

I can never stop crying during this moments. No matter how many times I reread / rewatch this 😭😭😭😭👏👏👏👏

through my friends at school!! a lot of them were starting to read the manga around this time last year, so i thought i would join in. a month later, i started to write my first sxf fic (and so the chaos began)

☆ day two: favourite character?

hmm i really like twilight because he has such a little emotionally challenged brain it's honestly hilarious, but i'm also really interested in sylvia and her backstory!! i think whenever i write a fic i try and see if i can include her. and franky's always very fun and easy to write in my opinion, his scenes are easily the most chaotic which i love <3

Genshin Baking Therapy - Matcha Power Cookies

Hello, every birdy. Nice to see all of you. I can’t wait to share this recipe with you. 

Now onto the character and the recipe.

The Character - Yelan. 

Yelan is a character that I like the look of, but I don’t think I am every going to get her. She would be great with Yoiymiya or even Dehya but I just dont think that I would get her. When I first say her I thought she reminded me of Yor Forger from Spy x Family. Just the vibes she was giving off in the Chasm. 

The Recipe - Matcha Powder Cookies.

My sister has always loved green tea. One day we found matcha tea, and we knew that it would be on the shelf for a very long time if we didn’t grab it. And she was like “Robyn, can you make me some Matcha cookies?” 

As many of you know I don’t back down from a baking challenge. I do my research. I usually try and find a recipe that won’t break that bank. So I found this recipe, and it was the simplest recipe that I could find. And say that with all sincerity. When it comes to baking I love simple recipes that I don’t have to rewrite just to understand it. And yes I have done that before. 

About 30 minutes before you are about to bake place your butter/margerine and eggs on the counter so it can get to room temperature. Trust me, you want to do this step. I know that in the past I might have told you that this step is not that important. Oh but it is. If you don’t do this step you are going to have to mix a lot longer. And the consistency just isn’t there. 

The first thing that you are going to do is preheat your oven to 350 degrees. You can either line the baking sheet with parchment paper or you can spray it with non-stick spray. 

The ingredients that you will are:

1 Stick unsalted butter which is ½ cup (also if you don’t have butter, you can always use margarine. And I will give you a little hint, I only use margarine. And I haven’t heard any complaints yet.)

1 cup of sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

⅛ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt 

2 room temperature eggs 

3 tbsp matcha (if I made this recipe again I probably would reduce the amount. Always look at the notes bakers have on their blogs. They are usually helpful. I read them afterwards and I am just look “OOOH that is why xyz failed.” So always read the notes.)

And then for the rolling of the cookies you are going to need 

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ cup powdered sugar 

And if you want an additional 1 teaspoon of matcha

You are going to cream together your stick  of butter with  sugar. To this mixture you are going to add in your baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Add in the eggs and mix until it all comes together. I like adding in my eggs one at a time so that I know what is going on with the texture. 

Now you are going to want to sift the matcha into the flour and pour it into mixing bowl. Sowly mixing so that all of the ingredients are incorporated. And so you don’t have a major green mess you have to clean up. 

If you want the extra teaspoon of matcha add it to a plate of powdered sugar and set it to the side. 

Using a cookie scoop, or two normal teaspoon spoons scoop the balls into about 1 and ½ tablespoon balls of dough. This measurement relative. Just go with how you are feeling. But let me remind of something important. Matcha has caffeine. 

Roll the balls in the granulated sugar and then the match and powdered sugar. 

Place them on the baking sheet and bake the for about 11 minutes, or so the recipe says. I am sorry, it is nothing against the recipe author or anything. But when making cookies I always start with 8 minutes, and add time if needed. Because like my mom has said for many years and I am starting to say “ You can always add time you can’t take it away.”

If you like green tea, these cookies are for you. If you had a Shrek themed party you had to make something for real quick this recipe would be perfect. Also you have to remember that Matcha is tea. And it has caffeine! DO NOT EAT THIS AFTER DINNER! I speak fro experience. My gosh, having seven people not being able to sleep because of something you made feels bad. 

The results of these cookies is a little half and half. Some people liked them and some of us didn’t like it. It all depends on your thoughts on green tea and the flavor.
