Day 14: Favorite Couple?

Hmm, I guess it's more like my favorite couples, plural, because it's a tie between Twiyor, Damianya and Yurikuro.

I don't know why, but it seems like there's something like an unofficial 'rule' about how to become a good couple in Spy x Family, that the girls should have ever kick, punch, or slap the boys, and these three couples already fulfil the 'requirement' here, lol.😂

Honorable mention for Domilla, Frankiona, Bewen and Hendertha, because I ship them even though they haven't fulfilled the requirement yet.

Now that I think about it, the recent arc of the Spy × Family manga about Henderson and Martha is a little bit similar to Baaya's (Hazuki's Nanny) backstory in the Ojamajo Doremi Naisho episode 6...

Basically, both of the backstories are about the Nanny's first love during the war time. Martha loved Henry while Baaya (Koyuki Ichikawa atm) loved someone named Atsuhiko.

Both of the backstories are also related with ballet, as Martha danced ballet while Baaya loved to see Atsuhiko's sister danced ballet.

The most interesting comparison between these backstories is about who was the one from the couple that went to the war. In Henderson and Martha's case, Martha was the one that went to the war, while in Atsuhiko and Baaya's case, it was Atsuhiko. Even so, there's a significant difference between them, as Martha could survive in the war and go home safely while Atsuhiko couldn't. He died in the war.

Another difference between them is that Henry got married to another woman, Lucia, while Baaya just couldn't persuade herself to move on and get married with another man. She was still single even in the light novel.

Simply, when there's a war somewhere, there also will be some tragic romance...

Alright, many things happened in chapter 99, and apparently this Hendertha arc isn't over yet, but one thing that I want to highlight is this one.

He got married with someone else...

I always get a feeling that Martha's warning for Becky to not become a homewrecker related personally with her past, and now it's proven right.

Of course, once she came back to Ostania, she couldn't do anything but accept that the one she loved was already married to another woman...😭 What a tragedy...😭

Oh, and before I forget it, there's something interesting here...

We get to see young Donovan Desmond here! And unsurprisingly, he supported the war.

However, I don't mind about this chapter.
