The Exorcist (1973)
Director - William Friedkin, Cinematography - Owen Roizman
"Especially important is the warning to avoid conversations with the demon. We may ask what is relevant but anything beyond that is dangerous. He is a liar. The demon is a liar. He will lie to confuse us. But he will also mix lies with the truth to attack us. The attack is psychological, Damien, and powerful. So don't listen to him. Remember that - do not listen."

W A T C H I N G
I've seen the movie about 3 times. Maybe one time theatrical version, and the others were all the extended director cut.
After years of weighing whether I should get it, I finally just caved and got the Ultimate 50th Anniversary Edition with 4K/BD. I found it for just over 30 dollars cheaper than the list price.
I couldn't pass it up.

Actors that were in Alice in Wonderland media and where you might know them better from. Part 1: 1930s-1960s
This has been something that I've been wanting to do for a bit. Specifically in video mode but I also wanted to put it in text form for people who don't have Tiktok(because YouTube will not let me post a video with the amount of clips from different movies). While I did try to put everyone here, I probably won't identify every actor from all medias or even know their roles. I also excluded actors where I legitimetly didn't know who the characters were in movie and also one time appearances in outside shows. So please refrain from being annoying in these posts.

Hi! I just wanted to ask if your main character had a theme song or piece of music, what would it be and why? 💛
Hi, @conkers-theficwriter! Thanks for the Ask!
This is such a lovely question! Especially since I adore making character playlists for my WIP! For the sake of this answer, I'll only consider the main POV characters (who are the protagonists of their parts of the story, since this novel has a Multiple POV outlook) from The Last Wrath!
RAELEN ASHIREN (theme song) - Dance with Fire by Karliene and Sing of Manetheren by Wheel of Time (cover by Gustavo Steiner)
ELLINOR DALLANTES (theme song) - Noble Blood by Tomme Proffit ft Fleurie and Queen of The Kings by Alessandra
JULYAN ASHIREN (theme song) - Lightbringer by 2WEI ft Ali Christenhusz and Just a Man by Epic The Musical
DARIAN CAELESTIS (theme song) - Speechless (Aladdin Live Action Soundtrack) male cover by Caleb Hyles
JAMIE TELLIAN (theme song) - Protector by City Wolf and Open Arms by Epic the Musical
LUCIYA ANYNTH (theme song) - Over the Hills and Far Away cover by Hurdy Gurdy
And that's it for the main characters!
But since I love sharing my character playlist for this WIP, here are the (updated) songs for the supporting cast as well!
INNARA RENFELLI (theme song) - Touch the Sky - Merida (dark cover by Lydia the Bard) and Reflection - Mulan (cover by Anna Pantsu)
ORYON ZYNDOR (theme song) - Drown with Me by Falconshield
ANSELL KALLIK (theme song) - Higher Ground by Rasmussen
LORD NETHEN FAHRIS (theme song) - Hell to Your Doorstep by The Count of Monte Cristo Musical and All the Magic by Karliene
NYX FAESTORM (theme song) - Song of the Seven by Joey Batey (The Witcher Soundtrack)
KADEN RIHDEL (theme song) - Thus Always to Tyrants by The Oh Hellos and The Bard Song by The Blind Guardian
SYBIL RIHDEL (theme song) - Savage Daughter by Sarah Hester
SEIRA NIVAINE (theme song) - Broken Crown by Mumford and Sons and Just Around the Riverbend by Brittany J Smith
AZRA MOORSWORTH (theme song) - Dragon by Built By Titan
HELIOS MAEVEL (theme song) - Goodbye by Bo Burnham and Amen by Frankenstein the Musical
TANWIN LYRANDETH (theme song) - Heart of The Night by Divide Music and Perfect by Miracle of Sound
EMRYC THORNE (theme song) - Everybody Loves Me by One Republic
VALLERIUS ZYNDROSAR (theme song) - The Horror and The Wild by The Amazing Devil
MORWAN DESTRIN (theme song) - Kings of the Sea by Karliene and Calling by The Amazing Devil
NADDINE AHMIRAH (theme song) - Grace O'Malley by Kinnia and Wild Uncharted Waters cover by Anna Pantsu
BRYN SEPERI (theme song) - Psychosis by Michel Dae
CASSANDER FYNN (theme song) - The Halfman's Song by Miracle of Sound
PEREGRINE DUSKEBLOM (theme song) - The World We Made by Ruelle and Alone by Cami-Cat
ISOLDE KIERAH (theme song) - Loyal, Brave, and True by Christina Aguilera
ARAMMIS DOHRFAREN (theme song) - Dance to The Day by Prince of Egypt The Musical
YUNA THYREN (theme song) - Mary Read by Karliene
FABIAN ANYNTH (theme song) - Dynasty by MIIA and Hero by Jeff Williams ft Caleb Hyles
ZEPHYR TELLIAN (theme song) - Monster by Frozen The Musical and Which Witch By Florence+The Machine
MYRAH FARON (theme song) - Dear Fellow Traveler by Sea Wolf and On My Father's Wings cover by Brittany J Smith
GENERAL TRYSTAN GRAYSPEAR (theme song) - Woe to The People of Order by Cami-Cat and Ruthlessness by Epic the Musical
LUKAN VELTERIN (theme song) - Legends the Score and Coast of High Barbary by Topgallant Jack
ELAIN (theme song) - Teen Idle by Marina and The Diamonds and Heart Of Stone cover by Matt Bloyd
CIRIEN SEPERI (theme song) - Blow High, Blow Low by Karliene (Only imagine a gender-bent version of this song. In the original song, the character is female, but this character here is male. It's just that the lyrics match too well with his story otherwise!)

Linda Blair, Max von Sydow, and Jason Miller in The Exorcist (William Friedkin, 1973)
Cast: Ellen Burstyn, Jason Miller, Linda Blair, Max von Sydow, Lee J. Cobb, Kitty Winn, Jack MacGowran, William O'Malley, Rudolf Schündler, Gina Petrushka, Vasiliki Maliaros, Mercedes McCambridge (voice). Screenplay: William Peter Blatty, based on his novel. Cinematography: Owen Roizman. Production design: Bill Malley. Film editing: Norman Gay, Evan A. Lottman. Makeup: Dick Smith.
From "classic" to "claptrap," that's pretty much the range of critical opinion about The Exorcist. I tend toward the latter end of the spectrum, feeling that the novelty of the film has worn off over the 50 years of its existence, revealing a pretty threadbare and sometimes offensive premise. It was at the time a kind of breakthrough in the liberation from censorship that marked so much of American filmmaking in the early 1970s. Audiences gasped when Linda Blair growled "Your mother sucks cocks in hell" with Mercedes McCambridge's voice. Today it's little more than playground potty-mouth behavior. The pea soup-spewing and head spinning now draw laughs when they once had people fainting in the aisles. We can argue that there was something noble about those more innocent times, and that we've lost something valuable in an age when the president of the United States can brag about pussy-grabbing and denounce "shithole" countries and still retain the loyalty and admiration of a third of Americans. But isn't it also true that the move from a horror film based on religious superstition to a horror film like Jordan Peele's Get Out, nominated like The Exorcist for a best picture Oscar, represents an improvement in our taste in movies? Get Out at least has a keenly satiric take on something essential: our racial attitudes. The Exorcist makes no statement about the value of religious faith, unless it's to suggest that it's based on a desire to scare us into believing. To my eyes, The Exorcist is slick but ramshackle: William Peter Blatty's Oscar-winning screenplay never makes a clear connection between Regan's possession and Father Merrin's archaeological dig in Iraq. (The opening scenes of the film were actually shot in the environs of Mosul, which more recently succumbed to a different kind of evil.) There are some scenes that make little sense: What's going on when the drunken film director taunts Chris's servant Karl with being a Nazi? What's the point of introducing the detective played by Lee J. Cobb with his usual self-absorption? Some of the plot devices, such as Father Karras's guilt over his mother's death, are pure cliché. And who the hell names a daughter Regan? Was Chris hoping for another kid she could name Goneril? For thousands of moviegoers, however, these objections are nitpicky. For me the flaws are the only thing that remain interesting about The Exorcist.

Hennes mamma blir orolig och kallar på en präst som får i uppgift att hjälpa till. Han och fader Merrin ska försöka driva ut den onda kraft som tagit över Regan innan hon dör.

Bastard
A/N: When depressed, don't do it alone, make others suffer- (/j)
Pairing: F! OC Evelyne "Snake" Gray x Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, mentioned Moot! OC Kathleen "Brass" Moore x John Price, Moot! OC Meabh "Pirate" O'Malley-Mactavish x John "Soap" Mactavish
CWs: Canon MWIII, Major Character Death, ANGST, hurt/no comfort, talk of death, funerals, cursing, canon-typical violence, mention of past scars.
Kyle could see the stress on Evelyne's entire being, her body tense, and her eyes flickering across the tarmac, mind on high alert. Her body jerks when he steps out of the helo, instantly moving into motion. He's almost shocked when she throws herself in his arms; almost. He wraps his arms around her, holding her close. This mission was hard on all of them, and yet Makarov still got away. Evelyne pulls away from him when she deems his body free of major injury.
His heart aches when she looks over his shoulder, a mix of anxiety and confusion plaguing her features when she only sees Ghost and Havoc walk out of the helo after him.
"Where's Soap?"
Evelyne's voice cracks on the name of her friend. John steps into her line of view, face grim. The captain holds his hand out, Johnny's vest patch sitting in his palm, the British flag glaring back at her. When she looks up at him, she doesn't see John William Price, she sees the same monster she saw in her father. A bastard who doesn't give two fucks about those around them, making decisions based on how it affects them, damning innocent people involved.
"You bastard!"
Kyle barely has a second to react before his wife lunges and lands a solid right hook on the face of his captain. He can hear the crack of John's nose breaking upon impact, the smell of copper filling his own nose.
"You killed him! This is your fault, Price!" Evelyne screeches into the night as Kyle tries to hold her steady, failing until Havoc comes over to assist.
"It should have been you!"
John watches as a wailing Evelyne is carried away by Havoc and Kyle. He should start coming up with excuses to give Kathy as to how he broke his nose. He tightens his grip on Johnny's dog tags, coming to terms with what comes next. If Evelyne could bring even a SAS soldier to his knees with her words, Meabh could move mountains with her voice. There was nothing more powerful and fearsome than a woman who has lost everything.
Ghost rests a hand on John's shoulder as he walks past. Kate takes the patch from his hand, promising to give it to Evelyne when she calms down. John doubts that will happen anytime soon.
Evelyne was never one for poetic things in life, but it was damn near ironic that it was raining the day she visits Johnny- well, his grave, that is. She tries to imagine how his wife reacted; if she screamed, or if she was in too much shock to react. Her curls rest on the nape of her neck, hidden beneath the hood of her sweatshirt. Her hand shakes around the handle of her umbrella as she stands before the tombstone, her boots sinking in the mud. Her lower lip wobbles as she sucks in a breath.
"The intel was bad, Johnny, I fucked up."
The ground beneath her moves as Evelyne falls to her knees, the fabric of her jeans darkening from the wet soil.
"I'm so, so sorry"
Next to the other flowers that rest there, Evelyne lays upon the disturbed earth a single rose.
"Kyle?"
"Yeah, love?"
Evelyne moves onto her side, slowly laying her head on his chest. Kyle's hand hesitates before lightly resting on her scarred back.
"Promise me you won't leave me."
She knows it's a cruel thing to ask, given their line of work, but she can't help herself. Hot tears stream down her cheeks when Kyle places a kiss to the crown of her head, holding her close, before uttering the words she needed.
"I would never,"

Roxby’s ‘Human Alarm Clock’ Speaks Out: Part 2
(Publisher’s Note: This article is the second of a two-part series composed after extensively interviewing a former Roxby Development employee who stepped forward to tell her story once the president of the company, Jeffrey J. Morris, was charged with wire fraud by the federal government. U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld of the Northern District Court of West Virginia said in a statement more charges against Morris will follow in the future. A trial date has not been established.) Many of the employees have since made peace with each other. Not all, but most, Corinne Chamberlin believes. After unknowingly being placed in positions opposing one another, Roxby’s former “Human Alarm Clock” and a plethora of former employees of Roxby Development now believe they were made to be pawns in some undefined, one-man game. What they finally figured out was, she explained, the instigation was caused by the company’s founder himself. Jeffrey J. Morris, indicted on federal wire fraud charges on September 8 in the Northern District Court of West Virginia, registered Roxby Development W.Va. Secretary of State Office on February 2, 2020. By December 2021, the company owned the Scottish Rite Cathedral, Roxby Labs, the 12th Street Garage, and the McLure House Hotel, and there were more than 100 employees on the payroll. This past summer, however, Roxby was foreclosed on for both the hotel and the Scottish Rite, and Morris’s attempts to file for federal protections under Chapter 11 bankruptcy laws were dismissed because of a failure to maintain insurance for the properties. These renderings of the McLure Hotel were developed by former creative director Timothy O'Malley. Chamberlin, and most other employees, had quit long before the locks were changed on both buildings. “And there is a strong bond among most of us, that’s for sure. You know, there's like a trauma bond, and that bond is pretty thick with those of us who have gotten together since the whole thing fell apart,” Chamberlin explained. “If and when I see someone I know from working for Roxby, even if I was frustrated with them at some point, it's still there. That bond is still there, at least for me. “Because of the environment Jeffrey created, I think, people turned into monsters. That’s my opinion anyway,” she insisted. “When I run into most former employees now, the first thing I ask is if they are OK. And it’s immediate because of the concern I had for everyone when we were in the middle of it all. All the craziness. I got this impression he was putting people at odds in order to control.” Chamberlin’s role with Roxby included project management and event planning, but she was initially hired in October 2021 as Morris’s personal assistant. It was during those few months when Chamberlin noticed what she referred to as “abnormal behavior.” “Especially from someone who was supposed to be the person in charge,” she said. “I witnessed him saying one thing to me, one thing to another staff member, and then something completely different to someone else. I finally realized that it wasn't meant to be organized at all. “Honestly, I think I realized that because I felt like I was in survival mode the whole time, and now, I think everyone was in survival mode. It was chaotic. Just chaotic. And Jeffrey would complain that things were chaotic, but it was always his fault. He didn't let people help him. He either didn’t see it that way, or he just played the game he created.” Some parts of the Scottish Rite Cathedral exterior can be seen by motorists traveling W.Va. Route 2. A Shattered Dream Along with the investors, Roxby listed creditors like the electric, water, and gas companies, the police and fire departments, the payroll processor, the painter, the printer, the local newspaper and TV station, a lot of attorneys, and even Roto-Rooter on its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing dated May 1, 2023. In all, the failing development company stated it owed between $10-$50 million to between 50-99 creditors. Before the request was dismissed, Morris released a statement promising re-organization with a new management company that would “manage event, entertainment, and food & beverage operations at the Scottish Rite as well as the hospitality operations at the hotel.” At the time of the federal dismissal, Roxby employed only a few individuals at the McLure House Hotel. “I don't know. I really don't know why anyone would work for that company when so many of us had issues with getting paid. I mean, I guess they still believed in it, and they had put in so much emotion into it. Like so many others. Like I did,” Chamberlin said. “I don't know how much money anybody put in, but I know there were significant amounts invested. I think we all know that now. The top level of the McLure House Hotel offers impressive views of downtown Wheeling and its riverfront. “I know a lot of people put up with all the pay delays and the frustrations because the vision that was talked about was what everyone has always wanted to see take place in Wheeling,” she said. “It really was the dream come true for the city and everyone who lived in the area. Older residents remember when downtown Wheeling was the place to be with all the stores and restaurants, and younger people like me, well, wanted to see it all come back because it sounded pretty awesome.” But then Chamberlin smashed into her personal “Can’t do this anymore” wall. “My final straw was after Bluesfest in 2022 because a lot of us didn’t get paid by Roxby for working it, and when I found out that another staff member had not been paid. This person told me they couldn't afford to be behind so much,” Chamberlin explained. “They told Jeffrey they couldn’t afford not to be paid, and he had the gull to tell them they needed to do a different job. That was after he promised we'd be paid. That’s when I knew I was done. I was done. “I know some of my former co-workers hired lawyers, but I never did get one. I didn't want a lawyer to tell me I couldn't talk about it. I didn't want anyone else telling me I can't talk about it,” she added. “It's like, you know what? Just keep the money because I would rather tell anybody anything about the situation than let someone try to silence me about it. Because it was so wrong. It was so wrong, and I’m all out of pity for him.” Read the full article
