Avengers: fuck it we ball

peter thinks that the Avengers have it all together because they're his teachers and they're constantly telling him to use his brain but it's really because they, for the first time, saw their own "fuck it we ball" mentality in a teenager, and thought "oh my god maybe that is like... super dangerous." like when a parent was younger and they partied a lot and sometimes got into dangerous situations and thought "this is normal" until they had a kid and they quickly realized "oh that's why my mom was insane."

that didn't make them any better, it just made them hypocrites. peter just doesn't know that because they act super responsible when he's around

The entrance scene to Lady Danbury’s ball is one of my most favourite scenes from Season 3 because there’s so many little details, and interesting tidbits that show the dynamics between these characters beautifully.

But I feel like a lot of these small but important details are missed, simply because this scene is a really quick one. So, let me breakdown some of my personal favourite bits from this scene:

Starting with, Anthony entering, proudly with his Viscountess on his arm. His head is held high and there’s even a spring in step. He’s so freaking happy to be walking in with Kate!!

But, besides being Kate’s proud husband, he’s also Francesca’s worrisome big brother and so he turns around check on her and when he sees that she’s feeling apprehensive, he holds her hand and tucks it into the crook of his elbow to remind her that he’s right beside her, to support her

While, Anthony comforts Francesca, Kate keeps the attention off them by dealing with all the polite courtesies and by complimenting Lady Danbury’s skills as a hostess.

Which distracts Lady Danbury from Anthony and Francesca long enough to preen at her Ball and also gives Anthony another convenient reason to keep falling deeper in love with his wife

Benedict and Colin are on their best behaviour because they are in Kate’s direct line of sight and she’s smiling sweetly at them and they absolutely will not be the reason she’s disappointed.

And for once, Violet Bridgerton is simply looking forward to a Ball

What I will say is that Yellowjackets told us right at the beginning of season 3 that it was mari here she is literally in the same pit that will kill her. Her fate is sealed there's no escaping it. They told us exactly how this would play out that Shauna would push and push and push and mari would run off lost in the woods the other girls looking for her. And eventually she would be found in that pitt desperately in need of help.

the first time was a warning, a dislocated knee and a friendly face she betrays looking down at her but she will find herself here again and this time she will pay with her life. Hell Lottie literally tells her so All season destiny has been a noose around her neck tightening with every breath. Since she fell in that pit the first time and survived only with the help of her "enemy" her days have been numbered by her "friends".

And yet I was still shocked.

every time i start panicking about the small details (like how i don't know near as much marvel lore as i do DC, etc) i remind myself that LoF wasn't supposed to get super popular and im just having fun and practicing writing for my own books and suddenly that anxiety goes away. like it's not gonna be perfect and it was born out of me and my friend being goofy

i get all the hate towards shauna this episode, but i think a huge point people are missing is that natalie doomed both herself and ben by insisting on that 2/3 vote for a verdict.

shauna initially wanted it to just be majority rules, but natalie decided 2/3 instead. the first vote was majority innocent. but they needed 2/3 so natalie has them vote again and again and did not waver. which allowed there to be a essentially a power vacuum where shauna could step in and sway the vote.
