I'm starting to think it's almost impossible for me to write something for Merlin and Leon to not be a main character if not THE main character

#everything ive managed to even partially write out for my soulmate au has leon in it #for all the people whos introduction to my writing has been this au and was expecting me to focus on... you know... merlin or arthur #you are mistaken #dont get me wrong! theyre both characters that are in it! but leon is my favorite character and he has a death grip on me even now #an idea has wormed into my head and i have no idea what to do after it and how to explore the ramifications #its very angsty #im half convinced it has happened because i made the comment to myself 'i havent had any meaningful merlin leon interactions in this #yet' and uh. i created an abomination per usual #even when hes not immortal i cant resist killing leon a little bit; as a treat for myself #bbc merlin #merlin #sir leon #liv writes #(i will not perma kill any characters that dont die in canon and even then i will fight very hard to not do that even then)

i still mourn the storyline we could have had where instead of a cheap betrayal they went much more deeply into how much Lucanis did want to escape the Crows and wanted Illario to be able to be First Talon and that the one thing that was building against the two of them was Caterina's pressure... guh.

#in my dream da4 rewrite Illario wouldnt betray Lucanis #Lucanis WOuLD have been captured because of his soft heart like Illario jokes about early on and Zara says she will use against him #not because Illario betrayed him but a consequences of his own compassion #and that therefore Illario's mourning of Lucanis in the Wake was genuine #and the conflict would have been on dealing with all those negatives feelings #the guilt of never really calling Lucanis out on his kindness. the grief. the bitterness that even there he wasn't considered for Talon.#the guilt of feeling bitter. The happiness to see Lucanis back. the bitterness to see it takes away what he wants again.#the guilt of feeling bitter while he should be happy Lucanis is back.#Zara and her lab of horrors should have been the final fights #if Illario turned enemy it would be bc she manipulated him at some point when he was weak. or blood magic.#Like my god how satisfying it would have been for Lucanis AND Spite #if the actual final was on Zara and others abominations she created #GUHHHHHH i MOURNNNNN i love Lucanis and Illario's relationship in the books this is unfair #ichablogging davg #ichatalks about da #ichasalty
