Ted talk part.whatever: MLM and WLW in Arcane vs Hazbin Hotel

I'm bored so I'm doing a Ted Talk thing. The examples for this I'm gonna use are Chaggie, Huskerdust, Catvi, and Jayvik.

Hazbin Hotel: Everyone knows how much Huskerdust is favored by the fandom and tbh by the writers/Viv too. I've already talked about how much attention Angel gets compared to EVERYONE else. Angel was way too flirty with Husk even when he didn't like it. And if I remember correctly Angel said something along the lines of "You are lucky" or "You should feel lucky" or something. Which is INSANE. Meanwhile Vaggie has been supportive to Charlie since the pilot. I kind of blame Viv/the writers for underdeveloping Chaggie (and every female character in both HH and HB). There are clear favorites.

Arcane: Both ships in Arcane are heavily loved. Both had development. Both had good, even scenes. The WLW couple is extremely popular, and I understand why because yeah they're great. Personally I like Jayvik more, but that's because I like their trope more. The cosmos, soulmates, only you type stuff. Caitvi is still good, but not my favorite of the two. Just because I like waffles, doesn't mean I don't like pancakes.

That's like basically it. I don't wanna talk about the Enforcer stuff. We don't talk about that. But yeah I could talk about HH and HB all day/neg. Okay byeeee

Every kid has their own room at Wayne manor, of course, whether they live their permanently, live their half time, have moved out or swear that they hate Bruce and everyone in the family.

And yet everyone just sleeps wherever, completely ignoring the separate rooms.

Dick is home with a perfectly good room of his own, but he’ll just sleep in Tim’s bed. Doesn’t matter for Tim because he has already decided that he’ll sleep in Dukes bed. Cass felt like sleeping in Jason’s room, who also wanted to sleep in Dukes bed, but is now sleeping in Damian’s. Damian decided to just sleep in a guest room in turn. Duke is sleeping in Steph’s room after seeing someone in his bed.

Bruce is slightly concerned, but since everyone is fine with it, he just lets it slide. The kids usually stay away from his bed, but if they don’t he can cope.

The only bed completely off limits is Alfred’s bed. Don’t try him, he will get his shoot gun.

So recently I watched Sk8 The Infinity and….. it was a hard watch for me to say the very least. There were so many parts that made me just wanna die inside, specifically the parts with Adam in them, I don’t think there are words to describe how much I dislike this character. His behavior towards Langa as well as some other characters throughout the show is… concerning.. what concerns me the most is how little his actions are acknowledged in the fandom, I’ve seen so many people defend him or just glide over his behavior completely. While I do believe ( in most cases) we shouldn’t let a character hold us back from enjoying a show, I also believe there is a limit, Adam passes that limit many times. From touching up on langa in the earlier episodes to him saying he’d fall for Miya too once he “blossomed.” Again, sk8 the infinity itself isn’t a bad show however characters like Adam make the experience a little more iffy

“Oh he had a bad childhood!!” That’s no excuse for him to act in a sadistic inappropriate manner towards MINORS, please remember that langa is what like 17 and Miya is like 12-13, which just makes his comment even worse. He’s a grown man acting inappropriately towards children there’s really no excusing his behavior. Another thing I’d like to mention is how he literally GROOMED Miya, he was so weird to multiple characters, it didn’t matter their age yet some of you sit here and make excuses as to why he acted the way he did and why he did the things he would do!

I really wanted to love this show, the plot was so unique and different from most anime’s, but it’s definitely not something I would re-watch at least not anytime soon. I definitely found characters I liked and there were many scenes that resonated with me.. but again, it definitely isn’t something I can see myself going back too.

let’s talk about why the doctor x patient trope is inappropriate and weird (mental hospital)

i’ve seen it many times— especially in fanfiction, and i really cannot wrap my head around why people find it appealing.

A mental hospital is maybe one of the most vulnerable places someone can be in, especially after an attempt. I have experienced this firsthand. a doctor’s job is to ensure the well being of their patient, and pursuing a relationship with a patient is wildly counterproductive in the healing of said patient. People who are admitted to mental hospitals are NOT WELL. Mentally, and physically most of the time as well.

i can’t begin to explain how horrible it would be to find a significant other through the means of suicide or self harm. your partner will always remind you of a morbidly dark moment in your life, and nothing will change that. you don’t KNOW your patient. you don’t KNOW your doctor. your relationship is filtered by medications, and professional work standards.

A doctor attempting a romantic relationship with a patient is an extreme abuse of power in that situation. the patient has no access to their phone, their family, their friends, or practically anything in the outside world. you are not yourself when you are depressed or suicidal.

He does not! The pharyngeal jaw mechanism in him is replaced by the tentacle hell in his chest (since he has that, having a pharyngeal jaw would be really redundant since the tentacles serve the same purpose and have an absurd reach)

Fun fact, when I first made him and first tried out the eel vibe for him but couldnt really give him a pharyngeal jaw I gave him the mask as a design wink to the ones eels have. So legally his mask is like his second jaw :]

what is your pazzi timeline?

oh boy, i'll give like a brief summary

2016: paige meets azzi first. i think paige had a whole secret admirer thing going on because she mentions meeting azzi 3 years ago in the 2019 slam video with them even though azzi has said she knew paige for 2 years at that point. seems like paige knew and was kinda crushing on azzi before a knew about her.

2017: they meet officially at u-16. they become friends i think paige still has a crush on azzi. azzi doesn't really reciprocate because i personally believe she didn't know she liked girls atp. a lot happens mostly just p being a simp ofc. azzi this year doesn't really seem to view paige as anything other than a friend.

2018: azzi starts to like paige back, beginning of in my humble opinion a very long homoerotic friendship.

2019: casually dating. paige would've been a junior and azzi would've been a sophomore. lots happens...paige flying to see azzi after her acl tear, wore p's jersey at her championship game, lots of plane rides to see each other. gives to me long distance sorta casual fling thing. weirdos idk

2020: def starts to get weird here. in my personal opinion, i think they're pretty exclusive here. there's different opinions out there but seeing how paige goes to live with a's fam it's very clear they start to really get close here. i think this time together really made them realize how much they loved each other.

aug 2020-2021: p goes to college, azzi stays home to finish hs. kinda seems like an amicable break-up/casual fling situationship they have here. streets say p was seen with other girls so i think they took time off from their relationship because of my guess the distance and in turn them having different focuses. however, in my opinion, i think they were in a kinda "she's still my girl" situation. like seeing other people but they know where home at type shit. again i know weirdos idk i never said my girls made sense yall 😭

aug 2021 is when azzi goes to uconn which leads me to my next part.

2021-2023: dating again. however weird tiff in 2021 where i think they're still being weird and not together. streets say azzis with a football player, p stops being seen with girls however. azzi is at college with p. the ice live oh lord. i think they're just getting comfortable with being around each other all the time again. LOCKED IN by the end of 2023.

2024: wives. wedding bells. locked in forever they have kids together. only goes up from here

Fandom: Ted Lasso

Pairing: Roy Kent x GN!Reader

Summary: You bring Roy's niece on for a social media campaign that you're sure everyone will love. Based off my imagine here.

You meet Roy in his office for lunch and you're practically bouncing off the walls.

He raises a brow at you in confusion, "What's got you all giddy?"

You giggle and move to sit on Roy's lap, "I proposed a social media campaign to Keeley and Rebecca and they loved it!"

"That's...good?"

You nod, "Yes, very good! The next thing I need to do is talk to your sister."

Roy looks at you even more confused, "My sister? Why?"

You're grinning, "I want Phoebe to work with me on this so, obviously, I need your sister's permission."

Your boyfriend's eyes squint at you in suspicion, "Should I be concerned?"

"Nope! It'll be fine. Fun even! I think the guys will enjoy it. So I'll chat with Phoebs and your sister later tonight. Hopefully, they'll both say yes."

The next weekend, Roy brings Phoebe to work. When they enter your office, you and Phoebe squeal, running into each other's arms.

"Fuckin' weirdos," Roy grumbles, but with a smile on his face.

You snicker, "Hi, lovey," you peck Roy's lips, and then proceed to push him towards the door, "And out you go because us girls need to get ready!"

Once Roy is out the door, he turns back around, "I'll see you at lunch though, yeah?"

"Love you," he murmurs and looks over your shoulder, "You behave, got it?"

Phoebe smiles up at her uncle, "I will, Uncle Roy!"

"Good," he says with a nod and leaves you two be.

You clap your hands together and bring Phoebe to the other side of your desk, "Alright, Phoebs, let's brainstorm on the types of questions you'll ask the boys!"

You and Phoebe walk out to the pitch an hour later with your work phone, a clipboard, a tripod, and a few bluetooth mini mics for Phoebe and the lads to use.

You nod to Beard and Nate, "Afternoon!"

Beard tips his hat, "Y/N."

Nate waves, "Hi, Y/N. Hi, Phoebe. Whatcha got there?"

"We're going to interview the guys!" Phoebe replies excitingly.

"Yup. Phoebs, came up with all sorts of questions for them so this is going to be veeeeery interesting." You look at your clipboard, "Alright, so we'll have the team captain up first." You look at Phoebe, "Mind grabbing Isaac for us, love?"

"Okay!" the young girl immediately rushes to the pitch towards her Uncle Roy. You watch as Roy looks down at her and they have a short conversation until Roy yells out, "ISAAC! YOU'RE UP FIRST!"

Isaac's head shoots up and starts lightly jogging to Phoebe. He's escorted by the young girl to where you've set up your phone and tripod.

"Hi, Isaac," you smile at the team captain."

"'Sup. Roy said you're interviewin' us for the socials, yeah?"

"Yup! And Phoebe will be conducting the interview. I'm just behind the camera and will butt in if needed," you go over to hand him and Phoebe a tiny mic that's already connected to your phone.

"Okay, Phoebs, whenever you're ready!" you give her a thumbs up and press record.

Phoebe immediately looks up to the team captain, "Isaac, why do you look grumpy all the time?" You over your mouth to keep you from laughing.

Isaac looks confused, "I don't look grumpy. I thought that was Roy's thing."

"You and my Uncle Roy both look grumpy a lot. Are you a grumpy person?"

"...no, this is just my face?"

Phoebe shrugs, "Okay! What do you prefer: unicorns or faeries?"

"Hm..." Isaac pauses to really think about it, "Unicorns are cool. I could probably ride one, yeah?"

"Good answer," Phoebe nods in approval. She then looks to you and gives a thumbs up, "I think we're good, Y/N!"

You chuckle, "Alright, Phoebs." You stop the recording and nod at Isaac, "Thanks, Isaac!"

"Sick," he says and jogs back to wear the rest of the guys are practicing.

"Alright, love, can you grab Dani for me?"

"Okay!" Phoebe runs off to grab the footballer and it continues to go that way as each interview comes and goes. Her questions were always very random:

"What do you use for your hair?"

"What are your thoughts on the new Disney movie?"

"How important do you think math is in football?"

The second to last interview: Jamie.

"How's it, Phoebs?" Jamie gives her a fist bump and she's beaming.

"Great! Okay, my question for you is: can you come to my birthday party? My friends don't believe that you and Uncle Roy are best friends. Also because my classmate Joanna doesn't believe that I know you and I want to wave it in her face that I do!"

Jamie chuckles, "'Course I'll come to your birthday party. Your my best friend's niece after all," he gives her a wink and they high five.

You snort as Jamie walks off and Roy comes forward, "Alright, you finished?"

"Actually, you're the last one we need to interview," you say with a smile.

"Me? Why the fuck would you want to interview me?"

You playfully roll your eyes at your boyfriend, "Phoebe wants to interview you. So go on, be a good uncle."

He frowns and walks over to Phoebe in front of your phone. He grimaces at the tiny mic she hands to him, "Why the fuck is this so small?"

You chuckle and shake your head, "Just get on with it!"

Phoebe smiles up at her uncle, "Hi Uncle Roy!"

"Hi."

"So my question for you is: when are you and Y/N getting married?"

Roy whips his head to you and you're laughing, "I swear I didn't tell her to ask that! Phoebe, ask him a different question!"

He shakes his head, "No, no. I'll answer it, but you can't hear."

Roy bends down and whispers his answer in Phoebe's ear. You and Roy have been together for quite some time and you love each other very much. You've talked about marriage in the past a few times, but you still weren't sure that's what Roy wanted, at least with you. But fuck did you want to marry him.

Phoebe is giggling and Roy is smirking as he straightens, "Alright, anymore questions?"

"Yes, can we get ice cream after this?"

You snort, "Of course, Phoebs, since you did an amazing job."

"Yes!"

You quickly clean up and the three of you head to your office to drop of your things and then you head to the ice cream shop.

The following weeks, you start to post the interviews on the AFC Richmond socials. They're a hit, earning thousands of views and likes. But the one that really got people going was Roy's interview.

"Why'd you post that? Didn't seem very entertaining or anythin'." Roy says as you show him the post.

"I beg to differ, babe. Look at the comments! Everyone loves how you are with Phoebe."

"Now people won't take me all seriously."

"Highly doubt that. Those brows of fury will set them straight," you run your finger along one of his brows.

He snorts and pulls you closer, "You wanna know my answer to Phoebe's question though?"

You shake your head, "Nah."

He cocks a brow, "You sure?"

"I'm sure," you cuddle closer to him, resting your head against his chest.

The weight in Roy's pocket feels heavy now, but it will definitely lighten up soon.

I dunno, I feel like a review calling Claire a “non-character” and mentioning how she made Carmy smile in S2 is really just asking for Claire to get more narrative time? She has as much backstory as Neil at this point?

Claire is fleshed out, she’s just not a likeable person, like Donna, who she is similar to for a narrative reason. It’s so Carmy can move beyond his past and unhealthy relationship patterns.

Certain types of audience feel entitled to certain types of characters getting more screen time. They willfully misunderstand the character and then act like Carmy and Syd are strictly platonic when they’re obviously not, and Carmy has been spending 90% of his waking life with Syd for the past year (3 seasons) and gifting her extravagant things to get her to stay with him in each one (restaurants, designer chef jacket, attempting Michelin stars).

Claire has had plenty of screen time. Claire is also messy and not a sweet girl next door, they’ve already given tons of hints she will be messy and try to turn people on him. She shit-talked him in front of a group of people including Ted Fak immediately after the walk-in meltdown. She told on him to Tiff who already thinks Carmy is a weirdo. She dogged on her friend’s ex and blamed the guy for everything to make her feel better (her friends are a mess and need a better friend not to be set up with Ted Fak). She is a thrill seeker and vibes off watching others struggle. Donna is like this. It makes her feel superior and needed, but it’s delusion.

Richie is already over Claire, she will likely be at Tiff’s wedding because they set that up. It will be used to get Richie and Carmy talking again and Richie trying to get Carmy to admit he really loves Syd, which Richie has kind of suspected all along and wrote about in his black notebook in S3.

So here, this is when the last Stranger Things season came out and I was waning away from that server group with only a few tight knit friends. Got really obsessed with Billy Hargrove after binging show and got wacky with it. The Eddie/Billy stuff was just me dicking around with the concept of Billy still being in the upside down and oopsie daisy, gay happens.

And like the weirdo I am of course I draw self insert art because I was a lonely lonely boy stuck in a house I didn't want to be in. One of these is a collab with someone I still talk to every now and then I just don't know his handle and it's been a while since last we spoke. This was a long one! Thanks for coming to my TED talk!!
