Was thinking about how much of a normo I come across as irl, how I’ve felt a lil odd person out at their shows bc of being a bit older (29) and looking so aggressively normal, how generally confused people in my life would be if they knew about my d&p obsession, how thoroughly i mask weirder traits and essentially codeswitch to suit the mainstream, etc.

i feel kind of fish out of water when I imagine how all the people that populate my tumblr phandom ecosystem are likely presenting to the world irl (I.e. more visibly queer, counterculture, and so on). But then I think maybe the most visible phannies are the ones with the most curated, alt, deliberate daytoday lewks/style? So maybe what I’m picturing is off base? But then I’m also basing this off of what audiences look like in audience footage, m&gs, etc.

Sooooooo i would like to know… do you guys feel like you present as someone who may be Deeply Online and obsessed with two gay nerds from the internet? Or do you hide it and fly under the radar, masking as a total normy and living a double life?

you know how in school they’d always make you (still make you) like choose random topics to give class presentations on while everyone politely clapped even though they didn’t really care about your powerpoint on fungi or whatever bc they’re too worried about getting their own over with. tumblr is like if every single person in the room was paying full attention and was absolutely stoked about it and gave you wild applause and wolf whistles at the end. you can just get on stage and talk about coelacanths and you become a celebrity for a few minutes. like on tumblr it’s on your own terms so it’s like oh snap education is actually supposed to be fun

Hey I’m new to the LMK fandom, why do so many people ship Sun Wukong and Macaque??

A lot of people like the hurt/comfort potential because of their backstory and because they’re just really good counterparts lol. Macaque even makes a whole play about their past relationship, which is where a lot of that fuel for the ship comes from and the whole “the hero and the warrior were like the sun and the moon” spiel that people love using for shits and giggles. There’s also a really strong enemies to lovers sentiment and i think it’s kinda sweet

Personally, I just really like riffing off the divorced energy. To me, these idiots would rather beat the shit out of each other than make up and I really really eat that up. Not just as a joke, maybe as a way to cope with their feelings like “I want things to go back the way they were but this is all I can do”

So uh if anyone remembers my Spanish and French teacher hyped me up to try publishing my poems into a book and since my uncle’s father in law is an author with an editing house I’ll be able to possibly publish them in Cuba!!,,!,!,!

if I type the manuscripts on pc asap they should be able to print out copies of the book for when my grandparents come visit Canada (and possibly stay, the situation in Cuba is pretty fucking bad) and will maybe get on the market :3:3:3:3:3

As someone who also binge watched the original trigun anime, did you also fell down a flight of stairs at the zazzie episode?

Personaly that was kinda neat, the anime is not full of deaths and they held back a lot with blood and corpses. So just seeing wolfwood raising a gun and a kid falling dead on the ground was impactfull, it was a more detailed shot than idk, that one steam train operator being killed by the shoeshin-Cof, cof, i mean, the neon gang, usualy there isn't a death and when it happens it's brief one, the discussion and the look of disdain in everyone's faces after ww shot a kid was nice.

my experience when first coming out as asexual during my freshman year of high school was fresh after a breakup with this dude that i barely even really dated, it was like a short shitty middle school relationship and he pressured me into dating him but eventually when we broke up we stayed friends, and for some reason me coming out as ace just hit a nerve for him... he was absolutely convinced that i was lying and that i couldnt be asexual because i "definitely had been horny for him at some point.." ?? like he took my sexuality as a personal attack because it meant i wasnt sexually attracted to him... WE WERE 14... he literally went around to all our friends and acquaintances and asked them to affirm his opinion that i couldnt be ace and consistently used "horny" as an insult for me for months, OUT LOUD AND AT SCHOOL.
