Promises
Vi x Reader (Part Two)
Love will drive you crazy.
A/N: Leave it to a woman to inspire me to write again. <3
Tumblr media
“And promise you’ll come back?”
If only you’d known how long those words stuck with Vi.
For years she had been kept in this prison, her age passing by faster than she could keep count as the days moved on. The gray walls and dreary interior she had become so accustomed to  would be her undoing, she thought. The constant torment by the guards, being forced to live with those she always opposed, every reminder that she needed to get out, all of it in the end would amount to nothing. She feared she’d become nothing more than a statistic among the rest of the previous lane's residents.
She feared she’d never get back to you.
That was, of course, until a strange enforcer came to her rescue. Well… rescue was a strong word. In her eyes it was as if she was being taken from one cage to another.
“In what mad world would I trust someone like you?” She remembered the girl saying.
“Someone like you.”
They were all the same.
But she knew this girl was her best bet out of this place. Back to her sister and back to you.
So, with a slightly wounded ego and a more hopeful outlook on life, given her two goals were now closer than ever, she left with the enforcer.
It was as if she appeared from nowhere. When she showed up, Vi truthfully thought she was going to get another “talk”. Instead, however, she was set free. With a price of course. She knew better than anyone than to trust an enforcer, so she kept her distance. Although, she couldn’t help but be thankful for her help even if it meant giving some kind of information in return.
For the first time in years, Vi was able to move freely, hear the sounds of people bustling about, and see actual colors other than the dismal gray that engulfed the entirety of Stillwater. She wasn’t going to let some enforcer stop her from at least stretching her legs as she got reacclimated to the world around her. It wasn’t until the enforcer caught up with her once again did she realize she wasn’t going to just leave her alone.
“Where are we going?” The enforcer asked. Vi had learned her name to be Caitlyn, and honestly she was just trying to lose her but somehow she always found her way back. She suppressed the urge to roll her eyes, not even bothering to turn back towards her.
“We’re going to visit a friend.” She answered simply, her hood pulled up to cover her tattooed skin and her ever present pink hair.  Although the crowd of the people of the lanes was a diverse bunch, someone like Vi would still be easily recognizable for those who knew to look for her, and she was sure there would be a few.
“Will this friend help us?” Caitlyn questioned skeptically, quickening her pace for a moment to catch up with Vi before slowing her pace once again. It was clear she was unsure of Vi's methods, probably letting what she had “learned” about the people of the undercity make her imagination go wild. She too kept her hood up, but less out of keeping her identity hidden, and more as if she was trying to shield herself from the strange new world around her. She had never been to the fissures first hand… and it was a lot to take in.
With her hands tucked into the pockets of her new, freshly stolen jacket, Vi sighed.
“If I say yes will you hurry up?” She asked with a sarcastically sweet smile on her face as she turned slightly to Caitlyn. The blue haired enforcer, now left with little options given that Vi was her only sense of direction, simply nodded in response and followed wherever Vi was headed with a hastened pace.
Luckily for Caitlyn, their route didn’t contain any parkour.
Vi hurriedly made her way through the streets of the Undercity with one place in mind. She had no idea where you could be after all these years, if you were even still here. So, to keep from losing her sanity all at once, she started at the place where everything used to make sense. She couldn’t help but feel her heartbeat quicken ever so slightly, fluttering with even a tinge of hope that things would be just as they once were. With you waiting outside the door, wondering when she’d be free to hang out. Just like how it used to be.
But instead of being greeted with both the nostalgic warm glow off the sign outside of the bar, and you waiting by the door, she was met with a jarring bright green neon eye that framed the sign. People hung around outside, some clearly drunk off their ass, while others picked fights. Two guards stood outside, keeping people out of the, what seemed to now be exclusive, bar.
This wasn’t right. None of this was.
Vi’s grip on the bar that he hands rested on tightened as she looked at the scene before her. If this had changed, she couldn’t imagine what else had happened.
And now she hadn’t a clue in the world where to look for you.
Little did she know, you really weren’t that far from her.
You, like many others in the Undercity, had to make ends meet.
You had to learn to survive.
And as a kid who lost everyone close to them, you really didn’t have many choices. So, you started from the bottom, working in the mines as many other kids your age did and worked your way up. Unfortunately, working in the mines meant you were working for Silco. The kingpin of the lanes. You couldn’t escape him if you tried. No one could, it seemed. The more you worked up and out of the mines, the closer you got to the man himself. Of course you never got to any influential role like his right hand. That title was reserved for Sevika.
But you didn’t need anything like that. You just wanted to survive, you didn’t want to have any real influence.
Who knew from starting out in the mines, you would one day work your way up into working in the bar that you once thought to be a home of some sorts. In your eyes, everyone but Powder had died in that accident all those years ago. You never did find out exactly what had happened and you figured it would be for the best not to ask. That was the best way to get around in a place that involved such sketchy business.
Keep your head down and don’t ask questions.
That’s how you got as far as you did.
What’s the point in asking questions you probably don’t want the answers to.
Every day you came into this bar to work, you couldn’t help but feel an unfathomable weight of guilt on your shoulders. You felt as if you let this happen. You felt as if you could’ve done something to stop Silco from practically desecrating the one thing everyone had left of Vander, other than the statue that was built in his honor. You felt as if you had done a disservice to Vi.
You knew how much Vi cared about those around her, and of course you also knew how much her sister meant to her. You never directly told her but you always knew that if anything had happened to Vi or Vander, you’d help out Powder.
But when the need arose, you realized far too late.
The first day you had come in to work at your new position, just as a regular busser, you hadn’t expected much. You had no interest in the company Silco kept so you never made it your business. Until one day, you were cleaning off a table when a blue haired girl came waltzing in the front door. Her demeanor was cheerful but… with a noticeable edge. There was something off about her. You simply ignored it, figuring it was not worth asking questions until you heard her laugh.
It was as if a strike of lightning struck through your entire being at that moment.
It couldn’t be. Could it?
You slowly turned once again to look back at the blue haired girl. A blue haired girl with even bluer eyes. Her laugh was identical to the one you had come to know very well all those years ago. It was then it clicked with you, that girl was Powder. She was here all along and you never knew. She was alive this whole time. You could’ve done something. You could’ve helped. And instead, here she was under Silcos care when she should’ve been under yours.
But then again, what could you have done? You too were just a child barely able to scrape together enough to make a living on your own, let alone take care of another altogether. Clearly that's not what mattered, what mattered was keeping Powder safe, what mattered was doing what you had secretly promised to Vi. What mattered was-
“Did you hear me?” A low voice broke you from your train of thought as you fluttered your eyelids and shook your head. You then looked up at the women before you who had spoken up just moments prior. You panicked a bit, immediately recognizing the woman to be Sevika, Silco’s cold hearted right hand. She grumbled under her breath knowing damn well you hadn’t heard a single word she just said before repeating,
“Clean this up.” She huffed, her eyelids lowering slightly as she stared at you.
“Right.” You replied quickly before quickly moving to grab your bucket and practically scooping all the dirty dishes into it to bring back to clean. You tried not to draw too much attention to yourself by just doing what was asked of you quick and easy, but it was hard not to let your mind run away from you when being in a place such as this. A place that meant so much to you and you could do nothing but sit back and watch it burn.
As you went back to clean the dishes, you noticed Sevika had gotten up and began to follow you. Great, you upset one of the three main people you never wanted to get on the bad side of.
Good going.
You braced yourself to be ridiculed or fired before you heard Sevika speak up.
“Hey, you.” She called out, to which you turned around, a questioning look on your face as you looked behind you before looking back at her. “Yes, you. Come here.” She called out, now very clearly looking directly at you. If you were wearing boots you’d be shaking in them by now. You listened, of course, and walked towards her, leaving behind your container of dishes on a counter nearby.
Once you made your way towards her, you simply made a gesture of acknowledgement, not speaking up as you waited for her to continue.
“I need you to handle something for me. You don’t talk much, that’s good.” She spoke, her voice low and gritty as she leaned towards you as if trying to keep, whatever she was about to let you in on, a secret. You were just a busser, you weren’t supposed to be involved in any of the bigger things, this isn't what you wanted.
Then again, you were just a busser, so there was no possible way that whatever Sevika wanted to suddenly burden you with was going to be all that damning, right?
“I have a ‘meeting’ tomorrow and I need someone else to go with. Don’t talk, don’t play, don;t do anything, you just have to be there. Got it?” She asked, well actually more like demanded. Then you realized, this ‘meeting’ was just another one of her gambling sessions. She must be playing something that involves two players and as someone who clearly doesn’t want to be in the way, she wouldn’t have to worry about you trying to snuff her out while playing.
You felt as if the entire weight of the world lifted off of your shoulders.
“Got it.” You responded.
“Rotten luck boys.” Sevika gloated, throwing her deck onto the table as the two men before both of you huffed and growled having now the last majority of their money that they likely had saved for this occasion.
Just before she could say anything else, the sound of a sudden impact flew through the air, and before you could ever process what had just happened you watched as a streak of pink flew past your vision. The two men that had once been sitting before you had scurried off, grabbing some of their belongings in the process, clearly not wanting to be involved.
You looked over to Sevika who was now partly on the floor as she grasped her jaw before looking up at the culprit.
“Vi?” You whispered at the same time as Sevika as you both gazed upon the pink haired woman who currently had her back turned towards you.
Vi quickly turned back around to face you both, her eyes quickly glancing at you but her gaze didn’t linger as her focus was clearly on Sevika. Without another word shared between the two of them, punches were thrown, blows were dealt, and the sound of faces hitting concrete became more frequent than you ever would have liked it to.
You backed off, staring at the scrap before you as your eyes remained locked on the pink haired woman. There was no way that was Vi. It couldn’t be, she was killed with everyone else right? Perhaps, this was just a woman who just happened to look like Vi..? You racked through your brain with a million reasons for this to somehow be possible. None of which involved this truly being Vi. You didn’t want to let your hopes up like that.
It wasn’t until you tuned back into the fight had you realized that Vi had kicked Sevika through a wall and was now holding her to the ground.
“Where’s my sister, where is he keeping her!” She demanded, holding her fist to Sevika’s face. It was then you realized, this really was Vi. From the voice, the fighting ability, the hair. You couldn’t deny it, it truly was her.
Your heart raced with excitement as you realized she was alive. She was really alive.
But if Sevika had her way, that wouldn’t be the case for long.
She drove her clawed metal hand into Vi’s abdomen, wounding her greatly.
You didn’t know what to do, if you spoke out against Sevika and lived you would be hunted for sport by Silco’s men, or Sevika herself. If you didn’t do anything, Vi was right on track to die.
Before you could make a decision, you heard the whirring of Sevika’s arm as she stood once again, grabbing Vi and holding her in place.
“Hm, oh. And I almost forgot, a friend of yours wanted to say hi.” She taunted as she tilted Vi’s dreary face towards you. You watched as her face that was riddled with pain changed ever so slightly with shock as she recognized you.
“Sunshine…?” She said quietly. The nickname that she had given you all those years ago.  before you both turned back to Sevika as the sound of her arm powering up filled the air. Vi looked as if she had given up by this point, having no more strength in her to fight.
You had to help, you had to do something. You weren’t going to sit by and let this happen.
You weren’t going to lose her again.

𝓒LOSER 𝓣HAN 𝓑EFORE !
pairing : daryl dixon x female!reader warnings : implied age gap, crybaby!reader, he’s a bit ooc, overprotective rick wc : 2.1k a/n : i’m seriously debating writing for carol i want her so bad also can u tell i’m in love with rick
Tumblr media
it had been a week since the group returned from their last supply run. as usual, you'd found a quiet spot in the prison, back against the cold concrete wall, a pencil in hand, and your notebook resting on your knees. with each sketch, you could lose yourself in the lines and shapes, letting the chaos of the outside world fall away.
daryl had seen you tucked away like this more times than he could count. he often found himself stealing glances in your direction when he thought you weren’t looking, the way you focused intently on your drawings. there was something calming about it, a slice of peace in a world that had long since forgotten the meaning of the word. he liked that you managed to create beauty in such a bleak place, and it stirred something warm inside him.
as he gathered supplies for the next run, he couldn’t help but feel a pull toward you, the way a moth is drawn to a flame. but even as that warmth spread through him, a thread of hesitation tugged at his heart. he didn't know how to approach you without sounding awkward or making things weird. you were sunshine to him, and he feared his often grumpy demeanour would cast a shadow over your light. but he was trying, to be kinder, especially around you. the group made it easy, at this point, rick was almost like a brother to him, and carol a best friend. to his eventual dismay, this meant she knew a whole lot about him and could read him like a book.
“hey, daryl,” carol’s voice broke through his thoughts, pulling him back to the present. she had a knowing look in her eyes, the kind that made him shift uncomfortably. “you’ve been staring at her again.”
he scoffed, crossing his arms defensively. “i ain’t staring.”
“sure,” she said with a teasing smirk. “just like you weren’t the one who picked up that flower for her last week.”
that had been a mistake. you had looked so happy, your smile lighting up the whole room. and damn if that hadn’t made him feel all sorts of things. but now, he just shrugged it off. “she’s a good kid. just… i dunno, wanted to do something nice.”
carol raised an eyebrow, a playful grin on her face. “you’re not fooling anyone, daryl. you care about her.”
“i care about everyone in this group,” he replied a bit too quickly, his tone defensive.
“sure you do,” she said, walking away, leaving him alone with his thoughts.
he watched you again, how you tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, completely absorbed in your art. he wanted to be closer to you, to show you how much you meant to him. but the words always stuck in his throat, trapped beneath layers of his own insecurity. he knew he wasn’t good enough for you, but he wanted you like he never had before.
later that day, the group gathered to discuss the next supply run. rick, as usual, was leading the meeting, his face drawn and serious. “we need to get more medical supplies. that last run barely did us any good.”
you were sitting under carol while she toyed with your hair, comfortable inbetween her legs while she was sitting on one of the beds. flipping through your notebook, a page with a half-finished drawing of a sunset catching your eye. you liked how it reminded you of the days before everything fell apart.
“we’ll need someone to stay back and guard the place,” rick continued, looking around the room. “any volunteers?”
before you could even think, carol spoke up. “i’ll stay. i can help keep watch.”
“me too,” you chimed in, glancing at daryl, who met your gaze for a brief moment. there was something in his eyes that made your heart race, but you quickly looked away, focusing on the conversation at hand, hoping the heat rising to your cheeks wasn’t too obvious.
“you sure?” rick asked, his voice skeptical. “it’s dangerous out there.”
“we’re capable,” you said firmly. “if something happens, we can handle it.”
daryl watched the exchange, his brow furrowing as he weighed the risks. he knew you were strong, but he also hated the idea of you being out there alone. he couldn’t shake the need to protect you, but he didn’t want to stifle your independence either.
“i’ll - i’ll be careful, i swear” you added, sensing the tension in the room, especially from daryl.
after the meeting, the group dispersed, but daryl lingered behind, gathering his gear. he overheard rick talking to carol, their voices low and serious.
“she’s too inexperienced,” rick said, frustration lacing his words. “what if something happens? we can’t afford to lose anyone.”
rick loved you, he really did, as much as everyone else in the group, but he also had a tendency to worry, especially about you. you weren’t new to the group, you’d been with them since the camp, same time as rick. rick had found you limping down the road, a herd of walkers following not far behind you. he’d scooped you up as quick as he could, and since then, he’d always felt rather overprotective of you. your naivety often put him on edge, his worst nightmare would be you ending up in a bad situation because you were often too trusting of others. you didn’t know what kinda guy he could’ve been when he’d picked you up in the middle of the street, but you didn’t struggle at all. he cared for you like a father.
“she’s tougher than you think, rick,” carol replied. “but she’s also got a soft side. you know that. don’t underestimate her.”
“it’s not that,” rick snapped. “it’s just… i mean she’s irresponsible, she’s - ”
you walked past them, catching the tail end of the conversation. your heart sank, unsure of what to make of it. you wanted to prove yourself, but hearing rick’s concerns made you doubt your abilities. you ducked into a hallway, hoping to clear your head.
daryl noticed you walking away, and for a moment, he considered following you. he wanted to check on you, make sure you were okay. but then he thought about the conversation with rick, and fear gripped him. he didn’t want to sound like a worried parent, but you were really important to him.
he took a deep breath and made his decision. he would go on the run with the others, but he would make sure to bring back something special for you. maybe that would lighten your mood.
as the day wore on, the run took longer than expected. they fought off a few walkers and scrounged around for supplies, but daryl’s mind was elsewhere. he kept thinking about you, how you had looked when rick was questioning your abilities. the way your smile faltered, and your confidence seemed to waver. he hated that rick could make you feel small, even if he didn’t mean to.
when they finally returned, daryl felt a rush of relief to see you sitting in the same spot, sketching in your notebook. the others were busy unpacking supplies, but he couldn’t take his eyes off you. your brow was furrowed in concentration, and it made him want to protect that focus, to shield you from any negativity.
“hey,” he said softly, approaching you cautiously.
you looked up, surprised, and your face lit up with a smile that made his heart skip. “hey, daryl! how was the run?”
“it was alright,” he replied, his gaze flicking to your notebook. “what’re you working on, sweetheart?”
“just a little something,” you said, your cheeks flushing. “nothing special.”
he leaned over, trying to sneak a peek at your drawing. “looks pretty damn special to me.”
you turned the notebook slightly, revealing a sketch of the prison with a sunset in the background. it was beautiful, full of vibrant colours, and it made his heart swell. “y’re real talented, you know that?”
“thanks, daryl.” you replied, a hint of shyness in your tone. “it’s just a hobby.”
“hobbies are important,” he said, feeling bold. “keeps you sane in this crazy world.”
“what about you?” you asked, curious. “do you have any hobbies?”
he scratched the back of his neck, feeling awkward. “hunting, i guess. and, uh, taking care of my bike.”
“i’d love to see your bike sometime,” you said, your eyes sparkling with interest.
“yeah?” he said, surprised. “i could show you. it’s not much, but it gets me around.”
“i’m sure it’s more than that,” you replied, smiling softly.
“here,” he said, shifting the conversation. “um, i got you something.” he pulled out a worn paperback book from his backpack, the edges frayed but the cover intact. “found it on the run. thought you might like it.”
your eyes widened, and you took the book from him gently. “oh daryl, you didn’t have to…”
“i wanted to,” he said, a hint of shyness in his voice too. “thought you could use a new read.”
you opened the book and gasped, looking up at him with a mix of disbelief and joy. “this is one of my favourite authors!”
“really?” he said, the corner of his mouth twitching up into a smile. “figured you might like it.”
you hugged the book to your chest, your eyes brimming with tears. “thank you so much!”
“ain’t no big deal,” he said, trying to sound casual, but the warmth in his cheeks betrayed him. “now don’t you go cryin’ on me.”
you laughed through your tears, and he felt his heart swell. “sorry, i can’t help it. ‘s just really thoughtful of you. you always do nice things for me.” you said, giggling through the tears now streaming down your face. you didn’t really know why you were crying, but you hoped daryl didn’t think too much about it.
“i just think you deserve it,” he replied, shrugging but unable to hide his smile.
“you’re really sweet,” you said, wiping a tear from your cheek.
“ain’t sweet,” he teased. “you’re just a damn crybaby.”
you playfully nudged him, and he chuckled, feeling the tension that had built throughout the day start to dissipate. “you really like it?” he asked, wanting to make sure he hadn’t messed up.
“i love it,” you said sincerely. “and it’s just what i needed. i’ve never read this one before. ‘m gonna start reading it tonight.”
“good,” he said, his heart racing. “maybe we could, uh, read together sometime.”
“i’d love that,” you replied, your smile brightening even more.
he was struck by the way you looked at him, your eyes shining with genuine happiness. it made him feel brave, like maybe he could push past the awkwardness. “i mean, if you want to.”
“i definitely do,” you said, your voice soft.
the two of you stood there, the world around you fading as the moment stretched on. daryl felt a surge of affection that he could no longer contain. he stepped closer, the heat radiating off you making him bold.
“can i?” he asked, his voice low, leaning in slightly.
you nodded, and without thinking, he closed the distance, pressing his lips against yours. it was soft and tentative at first, but then you melted into him, deepening the kiss. the warmth spread through him, and he felt like he was finally letting go of everything that had held him back.
when you pulled away, breathless, he couldn’t help but laugh lightly. “damn, you really are a crybaby.”
you giggled, a flush spreading across your cheeks. “maybe just a little.”
“well, if you keep bein’ so sweet, i might just have to keep makin’ you cry,” he teased, unable to hide his grin.
“i wouldn’t mind that,” you said, biting your lip, a shy smile creeping onto your face.
“good,” he said, his heart racing. “because i ain’t goin’ anywhere. you’re stuck with me.”
“i wouldn’t want it any other way,” you replied, feeling a sense of peace settle between you two.
as the night drew closer, the two of you settled into a comfortable rhythm, sharing stories and laughter, the world outside fading away. daryl felt a lightness in his chest that he hadn’t experienced in a long time, and he knew that no matter what came next, he wanted to face it with you by his side.

“I’m…” Oh, why had she ever thought this would be a good idea? “I’m—I’m Bre…” Her voice failed her. What had she been thinking, coming here?
“Bree, huh?” The thief shifted, wincing as he straightened slightly. “The fuck kind of name is that?”
Curt drew closer again. “I told you to watch your tongue.”
The thief glanced up at him for only a instant before he looked back to Breanna. “Well, Bree, what the fuck do you want?”

The Push We Need
Tumblr media
Pairings: SpencerxY/N
Warnings: Alcohol, abuse/cheating mentioned, smut, oral (f receiving), oral (m receiving), Fingering 9f receiving), PinV, unprotected sex (don't do that), bodily fluids mentioned, slight Dom!Spencer, overstimulation
Summary: Spencer and Y/N are best friends, who long for more. What happens when a fun night out ends up with them running into her POS ex?
A/N: This is not timeline compliant, Reid has been to prison, but Derek is still spending time with Gracia, Reid, and Y/N. I suck at writing xReader stories I think, I’m much better at writing OC stories, but I don’t know if that goes over well. It seems like most xReader stories are 1st person POV and I just cannot write well in 1st person at all :(
Tumblr media
The lights in the club are dim, and the music is loud, but in the corner booth the four friends have taken over it’s just quiet enough to where they can hear each other. At the booth sits Penelope, Derek, Spencer, and Y/N. Penelope laughs as Derek tells some kind of joke, they had been at the club two hours now, and the girls were heading towards drunk, Derek was buzzed, and Spencer was sober considering he had been sipping water all night, enjoying watching his friends laugh and joke.
”I’m not even kidding, he had her moving in with him three days after I broke up with him.” Y/N says as Penelope rolls her eyes. “And you just found all this out?” Penelope asks as she sips on her fruity drink. Y/N nods as she rolls her eyes. “I broke up with him over six months ago, haven’t heard a peep out of him since, and now i’m hearing from people it’s because they moved in together.” She says as Spencer hides his scoff behind sipping his water.
Y/N had started at the BAU a year ago right after Spencer was released from prison. The two of them immediately hit it off and had been best friends ever since, having frequent movie nights where they took turns ordering takeout and picking movies to share. They had attended Comiccon with Penelope a few months ago and frequently had sleepovers where they ended up passing out on the couch together. To everyone on the team, it seemed like the two of them were a couple, but to Spencer’s sadness, they were just friends. Y/N had been dating a man named Jake until about six months ago when she found out he had been cheating on her with multiple other women. They had been dating for two years, and from the small bits of information she had shared, he had been verbally abusive, as well as sometimes physically abusive. Spencer was beyond happy when he found out Y/N had finally left him, knowing she deserved someone who gave her the world, not the garbage she had been getting. There had been many times when Spencer considered showing up to Y/N’s apartment when he knew Jake was there, just to give him a taste of his own medicine, but he didn’t want to upset his best friend.
Spencer tunes back into the conversation between the two drunk women with a raised eyebrow. “We should play never have I ever,” Penelope says and Derek lets out a laugh. “Baby girl that never ends well when someone suggests that. Are you sure you want to know about your friend's habits?” He laughs as Penelope nods. “I already know a lot about Y/N’s, or well, her lack there of.” She giggles as Y/N glares at her. “Fine, but don’t be mad when you lose.” Y/N laughs as Derek shrugs and waits for Penelope to start. “Never have I ever been dominant in bed.” Penelope giggles as Derek lets out a loud laugh and Y/N’s eyes widen. “Starting hard here.” Y/N giggles as she watches Derek take a drink of his beer. Beside her, she can feel Spencer shift and she looks at him in time to see him drinking from his glass of water. Penelope gasps as she looks at Spencer. “Are you thirsty?” She said hopeful of preserving the innocent image she has of her friend. Spencer lets out a small laugh. “Just playing the game.” He says calmly and Penelope fakes a sob as Y/N tries to stifle her gasp, she looks down at her drink and feels her body heating up. No way just turned her on. She had been trying to hide her attraction to Spencer forever, assuming he only saw her as a friend, and she didn't want to ruin their friendship, but this new information was very, interesting to say the least.
Derek holds his beer as he thinks about what to say for his turn, a smirk coming to his face. “Never have I ever touched myself to the thought of a coworker.” He laughs as Penelope holds her chest in fake hurt. “You would me.” She giggles as Derek shakes his head, but it doesn't go unnoticed to him that both Spencer and Y/N take drinks from their drinks. Spencer taps the table with his fingers on his turn as he tries to think. “Never have I ever been handcuffed during bed.” He says and laughs as Penelope and Derek both drink, he glances at Y/N who doesn't drink with a raised eyebrow. “Please, you think I trust anyone enough to handcuff me in a vulnerable position like that?” She says as Spencer gives an understanding nod. Y/N smiles as she looks around the table at her friends. “This one is going to reveal how my life is, but every one of you will drink.” She says with a smile. “Never have I ever had an orgasm during sex.” She says, and Penelope and Derek both gasp, while Spencer’s eyes widen in shock. No one had ever made her cum? What kind of pathetic men had she climbed in bed with?
“Oh honey no,” Penelope says as Y/N nods. “I'm afraid so.” She says as Derek shakes his head. “You were together with Jake for years,” Derek says in shock and Y/N nods. “And not once.” She says with a shrug. Her eyes drift to the bar, and the entire table notices how her demeanor changes, her relaxed body language is suddenly rigid as she looks towards the bar. Penelope follows her eyeline and lets out a groan. “He’s here,” Penelope explains to the boys who nod in understanding as Y/N turns back to the group. Derek and Penelope look at Y/N, but Spencer’s eyes stay trained on the man Penelope had pointed out. He had never met Jake in person, since Y/N kept her work life and private life separate, but he had seen photos of him around Y/N’s apartment before they broke up. “Of course, he brought her with him too,” Y/N says with an eye roll as she finishes her drink. “He’s probably going to come over here to try and make me upset that he’s with her. I know he’s been trying to find out if I’m still single or not.” She says as Penelope scoots her drink towards Y/N, who takes it happily.
Spencer’s eyes are narrow as he notices that Jake has spotted Y/N and is starting to make his way across the club to their booth. Without thinking Spencer grabs Y/N’s outer thigh and pulls her legs across his lap, his hand going between her legs to grip her thigh just under the short dress she is wearing. She lets out a gasp as they move and looks at Spencer curiously, but before she can say anything she hears someone clear their throat beside her. She glances over and notices Jake and his girlfriend standing there. “Hey, nice to see you,” Jake says as his eyes glare slightly at where Spencer is touching her. “Didn't think clubs were your thing.” He says coldly, before she can speak Derek speaks up. “Double date.” He says casually as he throws an arm around Penelope’s shoulders. Jake looks at Y/N and nods. “Well have a nice night.”He says as he turns to leave, Spencer’s hand gripping her thigh tighter as he notices Jake checking her out. Once he's gone Y/N relaxes into Spencer's hold with a sigh.
”You okay?” Spencer leans down to whisper in her ear and she gives a small nod. “I just want to go home I think.” She says as Spencer nods. They had planned to have a sleepover tonight since Y/N lived close to the bar. Spencer leans over and tells Derek that Y/N wants to leave and Derek nods. “You girls go ahead and head to the door we will pay the tabs,” Derek says as Spencer nods. “It’s girls' night, so the guys pay.” Derek winks when Penelope goes to complain, before laughing. The night had been meant to be a girl’s night with JJ and Emily but they both were busy so Derek and Spencer had subbed in. Spencer removes his hand from Y/N’s thigh and helps her stand up before Penelope grabs her arm and they walk towards the doors while the guys head to the bar to pay.
As they're waiting Derek nudges Spencer’s shoulder. What was that?” He asks as Spencer looks at him. “What?” He says as he hands his card to the bartender to pay for his water and Y/N’s drinks. “The fact that you practically yanked Y/N into your lap. You’ve been so hell-bent on being just friends this whole time, the moment her sleazy ex shows up you’re mister macho?” Derek chuckles as Spencer shrugs. “I wanted her to feel safe.” He says as Derek claps a hand on his shoulder. “I’m sure man.” He shakes his head as they head to the doors to meet up with Y/N and Penelope. Penelope and Derek share a cab as Spencer and Y/N head down the sidewalk to her apartment.
Y/N immediately begins taking her heels off as soon as she walks into her apartment. Spencer laughs as she heads towards her room. “I’m taking a shower, I smell like vodka. I’ll order Indian food from that late-night place.” She says as she heads into her room. Spencer chuckles as he heads to the spare room where his bag is. He quickly undresses and slips a pair of sweatpants on, as he’s looking for his shirt he jumps when he hears someone ringing Y/N’s doorbell. He heads to the door curiously, looking through the peephole in shock when he sees Jake standing there. Spencer groans as he opens the door. Jake looks confused when he sees a shirtless Spencer standing at Y/N’s door.
”Yes?” Spencer says as Jake tries to look around him. “Is Y/N here? I wanted to talk to her.” He says as Spencer feigns confusion. “Who are you?” Spencer says as Jake scoffs. “I’m her ex.” He says as Spencer nods. “Oh yeah, Jack right?” He says as Jake huffs. “It’s Jake.” He grumbles. Spencer hears footsteps behind him. “Who’s at the door?” Y/N calls out as she stands behind him in her pajamas, a pair of shorts, and an old MIT sweatshirt she had stolen from Spencer a while ago. Her eyes widen as she sees Jake standing at the door. “Why are you here?” She says in an annoyed tone as Jake tries to move into the apartment, but Spencer blocks him. “I want to talk to you. I miss you.” He calls out as Y/N laughs. “Go home to your girlfriend Jake. I don't want to hear it.” She says as she turns and heads to her kitchen. Jake tries to speak but Spencer silences him as he puts his hand on his shoulder and pushes him back. “You heard her, leave.” He says as Jake stares up at him for a moment before scoffing and walking away mumbling under his breath. Spencer rolls his eyes as he shuts and locks the door.
He finds Y/N in the kitchen, leaning against the counter with a sigh. He approaches her and stands in front of her as he looks down at her. “You okay?” He asks worriedly and she sighs as she nods. “He came over here to try and win me back because he was jealous. Who cheats on someone and then gets jealous because they see them with someone else.” She mumbles as Spencer nods. “I can't believe I was so stupid that I-“Her words are cut off as Spencer grabs her chin to force her to look up at him. “Don't, you are not stupid. You feel for his tricks. You are so far from stupid. You have the smartest woman I have ever met.” He says as he looks into her eyes. Y/N can feel herself getting flushed slightly as she looks up at him and gives a small nod. Spencer smiles as he releases her chin but they don't move away from each other. Suddenly the tension is broken when the doorbell rings again. Spencer goes to the door and peaks out seeing it's their food. He opens the door and accepts the food, carrying it to where they normally eat, on Y/N’s couch.
Y/N comes in carrying a bottle of wine for herself and water for Spencer. They put on a documentary they both have been dying to watch as they begin eating. Once they’ve finished eating and Y/N has almost finished her bottle of wine the two scoot closer to each other, cuddling on the couch, being comfortable with each other’s presence. Suddenly Spencer grabs Y/N’s legs like he did at the club and places them across his lap, rubbing soothing circles against the bare skin of her calf. Y/N’s breath hitches every time he pressures them a little harder, her entire body feeling like it’s on fire as she tries to ignore the feeling of desire coursing through her body. The alcohol in her system is making her feel fuzzy, and wanting to speak her mind, but she tries to fight it.
As the movie comes to a close Spencer glances over at her, to see if she seems tired, but she is wide awake as he continues to touch her legs. She glances back at him and bites her lip nervously. “You okay? You seem worried?” Spencer says curiously as she nods. “Spence. I have a question but I don't know if I should ask it because the answer could ruin our friendship.” She says quietly as Spencer nods, acting calm, but inside his heart is hammering against his chest. “Aask.” He says quietly as Y/N  sighs and closes her eyes. “How do you feel about me?” She says in a small whisper as Spencer looks at her. “What do you mean? You’re my best friend Y/N.” Spencer says as Y/N nods and leans away slightly, moving her legs off of him, taking his words as rejection. “Oh okay.” She says quietly and Spencer shakes his head as he grabs her legs to stop her from moving. “What did I say wrong?” He says as she refuses to look at him.
”It’s nothing. I must be drunker than I thought. I need to go to bed.” She says as Spencer reaches up and grabs her chin to force her to look at him. He looks at her eyes as he tries to read her emotions. She shifts slightly, clenching her things together, her desire growing because of the way Spencer so easily grabbed her chin to take control of the situation. “I see,” Spencer says, his voice dropping slightly, a tone she had never heard from him before. “You want to know if I’m attracted to you?” He says as Y/N’s eyes widen, a blush forming on her cheeks at being called out.
Spencer smiles as he lets out a small chuckle. “Want me to tell you how often I imagine showing you what it’s like to cum during sex? Want me to tell you how I imagine you cumming all over my fingers, my face, and my cock?” He says lowly, as he watches her thighs clench together harder. “How about you tell me exactly how wet you already are for me?” He says as he leans closer, his lips barely brushing hers. “If I stick my hand down there and touch that pretty pussy are your shorts going to be soaked?” He says, his lips brushing hers as he speaks. A small whine leaves her throat at his words and Spencer lets off a chuckle. “Let's see.” He says as his other hand moves between her thighs to rub over her covered center
A small groan leaves his lips as he feels the fabric of her shorts soaked through. “Oh god, you are.” He groans as he begins rubbing small circles against her covered clit, a moan leaving her lips as Spencer smirks. He leans forward, his lips capturing hers in a heated kiss as his hand moves past the waistband of her shorts. When his hand makes contact with her bare clit Y/N gasps, allowing Spencer to dart his tongue into her mouth, a groan leaving him as he tastes the wine on her tongue as well as the distinctive taste of Y/N.
He continues rubbing circles against her clit, before moving his finger down to gently rub at her entrance. Her hips buck slightly and Sepencer pulls away to kiss a trail down her jaw to her neck. He maneuvers them so Y/N is lying on her back with Spencer on top of her. His other hand makes quick work of rucking the sweatshirt she had on up to so he can grasp at her breasts. His one finger teases at her entrance as she lets out a breathy whine. “Spencer, please.” She says and Spencer smiles against her skin as he leans down to kiss her breasts, as he sucks her nipple into his mouth he plunges his finger inside, causing her to let out a moan at the feeling. Spencer curves his finger as he thrusts it in and out, feeling around until she lets out a loud moan. Spencer moves to the other nippled as he continues hitting that spot. “More.” She whimpers as he enters another finger into her, thrusting and hitting that spot just right as the palm of his hand rubs against her clit. Before she knows it that coil in her lower belly snaps and she’s screaming his name as she cums on his fingers.
Spencer slows his movements as he lets her ride out her orgasm, small whines leaving her throat. When he fully removes his hand he smiles as he sits back, licking his fingers clean as Y/N stares up at him in shock. After she recovers mentally she sits up, Pushing Spencer back on the couch as she runs her hand along the obvious erection in his sweatpants. “My turn.” She says as Spencer laughs, but his laugh turns into a groan as Y/N pulls down his sweat pants and her hand makes a connection with his already leaking cock. She immediately moves so she’s face to face with it as she gives a few small strokes before leaning forward, her tongue darting out to taste the precum already gathering on the tip. Spencer releases a loud moan as he watches her.
She smiles as she moves and slowly begins to take him in her mouth. Spencer’s hand gathers her hair into a makeshift ponytail to keep it out of her way as she bobs her head up and down his length, taking more of him each time. Her hand comes up to wrap around what doesn't fit in her mouth as she continues to take him deeper until he hits the back of her throat, causing her to gag and Spencer to throw his head back with a moan. Her other hand comes up to cup his balls, causing Sencer’s eyes to practically roll back. “I’m going to cum.” Spencer gasps out as Y/N lets out a small moan of approval, the vibrations causing Spencer to immediately cum, his hand in her hair holding her still as he cums down her throat with a guttural cry of her name.
Y/N sits up with a smile as she licks her lips. Spencer is taking deep breaths as he tries to regain his composure. After a moment he looks over at Y/N with a dark look in his eyes. He grabs her by the neck and forces their lips together, before scooping her up and carrying her to her bedroom. He drops her on the bed and removes his sweats, pulling at her clothes until they’re both naked. He doesn’t waste any time as he quickly pushes her back on the bed, slotting himself between her thighs, with his face level with her glistening sex. He throws her legs over his shoulders as he practically dives face-first into her pussy.
Y/N lets out a loud moan at his actions, his tongue relentless as he licks and sucks at her clit. Her hand grasps his hair, a moan leaving his throat when she slightly pulls as he eats her like a man starved. Stars dance behind her eyelids as she hurtles towards another climax. In what feels like seconds she’s screaming Spencer's name again as she cums all over his face. He continues licking and sucking at her as if he can't get enough. The sensation quickly verges on painful as she feels overstimulated. She pulls on his hair with a whine. “Too much.” She says as she hears Spencer mumble something between her legs that sounds like “one move” as he goes back to aggressively licking and sucking at her clit again. She lets out a loud moan as she throws her head back, another orgasm hitting her like a truck as her legs begin to shake.
Spencer finally moves from between her legs, lewdly licking at her release plastered across his chin as he watches her body shake with a smile. He slowly moves up her body until his hips are slotted against hers, his cock hard again as it presses between their stomachs. Spencer smiles as he brushes the hair out of her face and looks into her eyes. “I’ve wanted to do that for so long.” He smirks as she lets out a small giggle. “You don't know how long I've wanted to make you mine. “He murmurs as he leans down to press a soft kiss to her lips. “Then do it,” Y/N whispers back and Spencer smiles as he leans upon his arm to position himself at her entrance before slowly pushing in.
They both release gasps at the feeling of him entering her. Y/N’s hands grasp his back, the feeling of being full after three orgasms almost too much. “God you’re so tight.” Spencer groans as he buries his head in her neck. “I don't think I’ll last long this time.” He murmurs as Y/N nods her agreement. Spencer pulls his hips back, before snapping them forward, both of them moaning at the action. He picks up his pace, kissing her gently as he delivers deep and slow thrusts.Y/N can feel the coil of pleasure starting again as she wraps her legs around his waist more, her nails scratching against his back as she whines. “More, Spencer, more.” She moans and Spencer nods as he picks up his pace, the sound of skin smacking together echoing around the room as the two of them moan and whisper each other’s name.
A few more thrusts and Spencer is leaning back so he can get a hand between them, rubbing her clit in soft circles as Y/N’s moans pick up. “Come on, I want to feel you cum all over my cock.” Spencer grunts out as he feels her walls fluttering around him. “I’m going to cum inside of you. I’m going to mark you, you’re mine.” Spencer growls as he leans forward to kiss and suck at her neck, his words surprising even him as he feels her clamp around him a final time as her eyes roll back and she cums. Her orgasm triggers his own as his hips are still as he cums deep inside of her with a loud moan. He continues to give small thrusts through his orgasm, fucking his cum deep inside her before he slowly pulls out. Y/N lies spent on the bed as Spencer moves to the en suite to grab a wet washcloth. He cleans Y/N up and then cleans himself up as he moves the blankets, tucking Y/N in and slipping behind her to wrap his arms around her.
He figures she's fallen asleep as he gently kisses her shoulder. “Spencer?” Her small voice calls and Spencer makes a noise of confirmation that he heard her. “I…I love you,” she says quietly and Spencer smiles as he pulls her tighter to him. “I love you too Y/N, I have since I met you.” He smiles against her naked shoulder as she relaxes in his arms. “I guess your piece of shit ex was just the push we needed.”Spencer chuckles as Y/N hits his hand playfully. The two of them fall asleep cuddled together and happy they finally have each other.

Well, fuck me… on a magic altar
Tumblr media
Garfield Logan x Male Reader
Warnings: Smut, bottom!Reader, top!Gar, anal sex, virgininty loss, missionary position, magic sex ritual, unprotected sex, friends with benefits (… kinda)…
Part 1 & Part 2…
Summary: Rachel needs your and Gar’s help to seal away a demon but the process of doing it is rather heated…
——
You were working your regular shift in Madame Xanadu’s parlor, it was only 2 hours left until closing. There wasn’t a lot of business that day so you sat behind the reception reading a magazine. The bell over the door rang making you look up as Rachel and Gar came over towards you.
”Hey guys, what’s up?” you said casually, closing your magazine. Rachel looked awkwardly towards Gar for help but Gar looked just as lost on what to do. ”Y/n, uhm- there is no way to make this easy so i’m just gonna say it” Rachel warned.
”Y/n, i need you to have sex with Gar” Rachel blurted out.
”Get out of my parlor! What kind of establishment do you think we’re running here?” you stated shocked.
”Y/n, you don’t understand, i need you and Gar to have sex on a magic altar to seal away a demon” Rachel tried.
”I’m sorry, what did you just say…?” you asked still just as confused.
”Okay, Y/n, listen! There is this magic evil demon who was sealed away in a magic prison 5000 years ago in a magic temple. Every 100 years you need to do a ritual to keep him locked in, the ritual includes having virgin get their virginty taken on the altar inside the magic temple, that’s why we need you” Rachel explained fully.
You turned to Gar and said seriously ”Bro… you told her i’m a virgin… not cool”. ”Sorry, it was urgent” Gar apologised. ”Y/n focus! Are you in or not?” Rachel questioned in a panic, banging her fist down on the counter. ”Will you at least buy me dinner first?” you asked. Rachel looked like she was about to kill you before Gar cut in saying ”Of course we will”.
”Okay sick, let’s go” you said and picked up your jacket. You then walked in to Madame Xanadu’s fortune telling room, where she was shuffling a deck of cards with magic and said ”Hey, Madame Xanadu?”. ”Yes, dear?” she said looking up from her cards.
”I’m gonna have to leave early, Rachel and Gar are taking me to somekind of temple so Gar can can take my virginity to keep a demon imprisoned” you explained. Madame Xanadu didn’t flinch at the statement, only uttering a small ”Has it already been a hundered years, huh? Wow, time flies”. Before saying a quick ”Alright have fun”.
The three of you left stopping at a fast food place to get you and Gar some food. You three then made your way in to an alley where Rachel opened a portal that you all went through. On the other side you stepped out to a magnificent stone temple.
Intricate carvings were all along the walls and pillars. Torches were spread along the walls, tons of candles had been lit around the big stone altar table which was waiting for you and Gar. ”There’s the altar, when you’re ready just get up on it and do your thing” Rachel explained drawing a chalk circle around it.
”I guess i’ll just leave you to it then, good luck” Rachel said and re-opened the portal and went through, once it closed you and Gar were left alone. It didn’t hit you how awkward the whole thing was until now, when Rachel was there it had felt like you were doing your part in saving the world.
Now that it was just you and Gar the whole thing felt a lot more personal. Sure, you and Gar had been flirty and had cuddled a little in the past but you weren’t boyfriends or even dating. The two of you sat down on the temple floor in silence and ate your food.
”How are you feeling?” Gar asked caringly nudging your leg. You took a sip from your soda and answered ”Just trying to absorb the whole thing, i’m gonna be completely honest this is not how i imagined losing my virginity”.
Gar let out a small chuckle. ”Are you fine with you know… it being with me?” he asked. ”Yeah, i’d rather it be with someone i know and trust” you answered making Gar smile and say ”I promise i’ll try to make it special for you”. The two of you finished your fast food dinner and stood up.
”So… where do we begin…?” you asked awkwardly. ”How about…” Gar started and pressed a soft kiss against your lips, the action made your cheeks heat up. Gar then led you in to the chalk circle Rachel had drawn out and you sat down on the edge of the stone altar.
You took of your jacket and threw it aside, Gar stood himself between your spead legs and you and Gar started shyly making out, Gar letting you get a feel for it. His lips were delicate to yours making a quiet moan escape your mouth. Gar ran his hands on your thighs massaging them lightly.
You put your arms around his neck as your make out grew more heated. Once you pulled your lips apart, Gar looked at you with loving eyes. He wanted to make you feel good so you could remember it with joy despite the circumstances.
”Can you help me undress?” you asked him he nodded and got down on one knee. He started by taking off your shoes and socks, he then took of his own, he then stood up again. You unbuttoned your pants and Gar helped you pull them down your legs.
Gar then removed his hoodie and t-shirt revealing his slim athletic physique. You put your fingers against his chest trailing them lightly over his skin. You moved further up on the altar as Gar took of his own pants leaving him in his boxers.
The two of you sat on the altar making out, Gar lifted your shirt and helped you remove it. You had expected the big temple room to feel cold and drafty to your skin, but the many lit candles around the altar and spread through the room made it warm and cozy almost like being next to a fire place.
Gar helped you lay down on the altar which felt chilly at first touch to your back making you let out a small gasp, Gar noticed and picked up his shirt laying it down under you as a small blanket. ”Is that better?” he asked. ”Yeah” you said.
Gar positioned himself on top of you as you made out in your underwear, your bulges rubbing softly against each other for the first time. Both your cocks had grown hard in anticipation what was about to happen between the two of you.
You broke your lips from Gar and whispered ”I’m ready”. Gar nodded and uttered a small ”Okay”. His fingers slipped under the waistband of your boxers and Gar gently pulled them down, revealing your untouched manhood to him. Once your boxers were fully of he threw them aside.
He then tugged of his own underwear revealing his hung dick. Gar climbed off the altar and rumaged through his bag eventually picking up a bottle of lube. He then came back, he sat on his knees and spread your legs revealing your virgin ass for him, your face heated up as he did.
Gar noticed you had grown a bit nervous and he looked you in the eyes. ”You’re so beautiful” he said genuinely he then leaned down placing a kiss on your upper chest. He trailed kisses down your body until he eventually placed one on your dick making it twitch in excitement.
”I gonna stretch you out now, okay?” he let you know. You gave him an approving nodd and he poured some lube in his hand spreading it on his finger. He lifted your legs revealing your tight virgin hole to him, then his first finger made contact making you let out a light gasp as his lube slicked finger penetrated you.
The new feeling made you let out quiet moan. Gar studied your face for signs of discomfort but you were taking it so well. ”You’re doing so good, Y/n” he praised lightly as his finger was all the way inside you. He slowly moved his finger in and out of you until he felt he could add another finger.
He kept stretching you out until he had added a third finger and worked you open. He then removed his fingers from your ass making sure to pull out slowly. ”Are you ready?” Gar asked softly. ”Yeah” you confirmed taking his hand yours and placing a kiss on it.
Gar then spread lube over his cock and aligned himself with your hole and slowly started pushing in to your virgin heat. You gripped Gar’s arm, squeezing it as Gar slowly filled your ass with his cock. ”Your taking me so well Y/n” Gar whispered encouragingly.
Once he was fully sheathed inside you, he gave you time to adjust to him as he placed kisses on your cheek and whispered praises in your ear. After a while you told him ”You can start moving”. ”Okay” Gar nodded and slowly started pulling out before softly pushing back in.
Gar was completely stuffed inside but the previous pain had turned to pleasure as Gar rhythmically moved in and out of your tightness. You and Gar started hungrily making out once more, both your moans in pleasure echoing through the temple room
Your shared body heat created beads of sweat on your foreheads and gave your naked bodies a light sheen in the candle light. The carvings along the walls had started glowing white, probably a sign that the magic ritual had begun.
You wondered if the demon could see you get deflowered for the purpose of sealing him away. ”Gar, fuck your big” you moaned as his gentle thrusts filled you up. ”That’s right baby” Gar said with a cocky smile.
You hands pressed against Gar’s pecs, this action made Gar release a loud moan. He was in ecstasy as your tight virgin hole was squeezed around his large cock. ”Such a perfect ass” Gar praised, he wanted to bring you to the same kind of pleasure he felt.
He did his best to thrust deeper in to you without going to hard wanting to stay gentle for your first time. It worked as his length grazed against your prostate making you let out a sudden moan.
His sudden action made your orgasm quickly approach making you brain go foggy from . ”Gar, I’m gonna- I’m gonn-!” you moaned but couldn’t finish as you shot ropes of cum over yourself and Gar’s abs. The sight of your cum covered self made Gar wanna go wild.
He did is best to contain the beast from erupting from within him and taking you like a common bitch. You and Gar kissed and he said gently ”I’m close”. As he plowed himself in to you the feeling of your walls clenching around him drove him over the edge.
With one last pump in your now loose virgin hole, Gar groaned loudly as his cock erupted filling you with his warm load, his seed staining your innocence forever. Both of you panted heavily as your hot and sweaty bodies tangeled together letting you both catch your breath.
The glowing white walls created a large flash of white signifying the rituals completion. Your body felt shaky as you tried to move, Gar let you sit on the edge of the altar as he helped you get dressed again. ”Did it feel good?” he wondered.
”Yeah” you answered dreamily not having fully snapped back to reality yet, this made Gar smile. ”Was- Was i good?” you found yourself asking. Gar cupped your cheeks and said ”You were perfect” and he placed a loving kiss on your lips.
Once you both were fully dressed Rachel soon emerged through a portal to pick you up. She understandingly didn’t ask a lot more questions than ”Did it go well?” and a ”Feeling okay?” directed towards you. She opened a portal that led to right outside your apartment building and you all walked through.
Gar then turned to Rachel saying ”Can we have a moment?”. Rachel nodded understandingly and gave the two of you some privacy. ”Look i know this whole thing wasn’t ideal so i wanted to ask you out on real date to you know make up for it” Gar said.
You smirked and said jokingly ”Really? This was all i could have possibly wanted” making Gar chuckle. You continued ”I will however take you up on that date offer, how about sometime next week?”. Gar nodded and said ”Sure, i’ll text you later with a date”. ”Okay” you nodded and you pulled each other in to a hug. Gar gave you a quick kiss on the cheek before letting go.
You waved him and Rachel goodbye as they entered another portal taking them home. You then on shaky legs made your way in to your apartment building, dreaming about you future date with Gar.

The Sorcerer’s Dark Magic
Bruised, battered, and bloody.
This was the sorry state of, Cinder Fall.
A member of, Salem’s inner circle had been identified whilst she was in, Vale. Beacon sent several of its highly trained, Hunter’s, and Atlas had also sent in members of its elite team of, Specialists to bring her in.
They had found her, and her cronies in the midst of a pack of, White Fang members lead by the murderous zealot, Adam Taurus.
The fight had been long, and bloody, costing the lives of several Hunters, Specialist, and many members of, Cinder’s entourage, along with scores of members of the, White Fang. Even the murderous zealot, Adam Taurus’s life was taken in the fight.
But, they won, and they had taken, Cinder Fall in alive. And, now it was time for her interrogation to begin.
An event that would scar many who whiteness the horrors about to be unleashed.
~~~
The door opened to reveal a trio standing before a one way mirror, they all turned, and nodded their greetings at the duo as they entered the room. Within the room there was the headmaster of, Beacon Academy, Ozpin. The deputy headmistress, Glynda Goodwitch. And, lastly there was a seasoned huntsman, and a drunkard named, Qrow Branwen.
Entering the room was, Headmaster of Atlas Academy, and General of the Atlas Military, James Ironwood, followed closely by his aide, Specialist, Winter Schnee. They joined the trio at the mirror to stare at the bloody, and bruised body of, Cinder Fall.
Ironwood: So, what’s the plan?
Ozpin; Hello to you too, James. Right now the plan is to wait.
Ironwood: Wait, wait for what?
Qrow: The Sorcerer is finishing up his treatment of the wounded.
Ironwood: The Sorcerer? You have a magic user; why didn’t you notify me that you found a maiden?
Ozpin shook his head as he watched, Cinder pull at her aura suppressing restrains that binded her hands in a vain attempt to escape.
Ozpin: I would have if we did, but no. The Sorcerer is just a nickname he picked up.
Ironwood: He? So it’s a male. Hmmm… Who is this, Sorcerer you’re talking about?
Glynda: His name is, Jaune Arc; He is an experienced, Hunter who is a teacher here at, Beacon Academy, and he doubles as an assistant school nurse when the need arises.
Glynda’s brief rundown gave, Ironwood a simple understanding of who he was, and considering how normal he sounded, he understood why, Ozpin never brought him up before. But, why would he need someone so plain to interrogate her?
Winter: Arc…? Does he have blond hair, and blue eyes?
Glynda: Yes.
Winter: I believe I met him. He seems like a kind, and caring individual who cares deeply for the wellbeing of his students. Why are you having him interrogate the prisoner?
Ozpin: We need her to talk; We need to know what, Salem’s plans are, and who is working with her. If we try doing so ourselves we will get nowhere. But, if we let, Mr. Arc do it himself, we will get all the answers, and more that we are looking for.
Ironwood: Are you sure about this, Ozpin?
Ozpin: Honestly, James if I was being ‘interrogated’ by, Mr. Arc. I’m not sure what secrets I wouldn’t spill to get him to stop.
Ozpin shuddered as he remember the last time he sat on, Jaune interrogating someone. It was effective, but disturbing.
Qrow: Wait, you made that sound like he wasn’t going to talk with her, but more like he’s going to ‘talk’ with her.
Ozpin: …
Ozpin: It must be done…
Qrow: Seriously?! You’re gonna make, Tai 2.0 go in there, and torture her?
Ironwood: What?!
James looked to, Ozpin as he held his head in defeat. He had no other options left. And, considering what, Cinder, and her associates were planning, and how they barely caught it, and just managed to stop it. They needed her to talk to prevent anything else from coming.
Ironwood: You can’t possibly have forced him to do this?!
Glynda: Jaune agreed to do it! He lost several of his friends in the raid to get her, this is his own way of avenging them. And, you know how effect his methods are, we both have seen what he can, and will do to someone.
Qrow looked away before taking another drink from his flask. He knew what, Jaune could do, he knew exactly what he could do. That didn’t mean he liked what he saw.
Qrow: Fuck…
Qrow took a swig from his flask as he turned back to look at the girl in cuffs. Ironwood gave the drunk one fleeting glance before turning to face his friend.
Ironwood: How will this, Arc fellow make her talk?
Ozpin: He will no doubt try, and talk to her at first. But, when that inevitably fails, he will use his semblance instead.
Ironwood: And, what is his semblance?
Ozpin: It’s… Oh, he’s here.
~~~
The door opened, and closed with a heavy click of steel. A blond haired man entered the room. Cinder eyes him warningly as he walked over to the table, and took the seat across from her. He put down a notebook, and a pen, before brushing some unseen dust from the desk before he turned to face her.
: Hello, Ms. Cinder Fall. My name is, Jaune Arc. May I call you, Cinder?
Cinder said nothing, and just stared him down. They stared each other down for a while before, Jaune shrugged his shoulders, and opened his notebook to start taking notes.
Jaune: Not much of a talker, eh? No matter, we’ll get you talking soon enough.
Jaune: Now then, Ms. Fall, let’s summarize the past days events: A team of, Beacon students stumbled upon your little operation going on in, Mount Glenn. A team of veteran, Hunters from, Vale, as well as a team of, Atlasian Specialists came in to prevent you from colliding a train into the old train house in downtown, Vale thus releasing a horde of, Grimm into the city. Did I make a mistake in any of that, Ms. Fall?
Cinder: …
Jaune: Still not talking, eh? No matter, I’ll get you talking sooner, or later. So, pray tell what were you planning to do?
Cinder glared daggers at the man who radiated golden retriever energy, but said nothing.
Jaune: Twas a rhetorical question, since you won’t answer me after all. So, let us speculate then shall we?
Jaune: Hmm… you wanted to launch a horde of, Grimm into the city… but, why?
Jaune: Since the White Fang were involved was it to act as a protest against the mistreatment of faunas?
Cinder: …
Jaune: I expect that was the, White Fang’s plan, at least what they thought the plan was. So logically they would do this to kill people, both human, and faunas as a means of retribution for past, and future wrongs.
Cinder continued to glare at him, but within those burning eyes, Jaune could see her asking him a simple question.
Jaune: What the hell am I talking about? That’s what you’re thinking, I can see it in your eyes. But, well, extremists all ways take the simplest things, that often have the simplest solutions to the extreme. Hence the name: extremists. But, what’s your angle in all of this?
Jaune leaned closer, and stared, Cinder down. Their eyes locked on one another in a staring contest that made, Cinder’s blood burn. And, yet this feeling in her blood wasn’t from rage.
Jaune: We asked your associates what you game in all of this was… And, what were their names again…?
Jaune flipped through his notebook, before pulling out two photos, attached to slips of paper.
Jaune: Ahh yes… Mercury Black, and… Emerald Sustrai, that’s their names. The didn’t snitch on you, they never would. But, as they say… ‘Dead man tells no tale~!’
Jaune could see her eyes flash wider for the briefest of moments. She seemed to not care about her associates, at least, she seemingly didn’t care that much.
Jaune: But, your pal, Roman Torchwik. He sung like a song bird, and told me all of your dastardly deeds, after receiving some proper… motivation~!
~~~
Ironwood watched carefully as he listened to, Mr. Arc as he interrogate the prisoner.
Ironwood: Did you also ‘interrogate’ this, Torchwik fellow?
Ozpin: There was no need to, we offered him a plea deal for all the information he had on her, and he was rather forthcoming coming. Although his information as to what, Ms. Fall’s plans are, were rather limited.
Ironwood: I see, hopefully this, Arc fellow can make use of it. Now, I don’t mean to sound… disturbed. But, when is this supposed… ‘interrogation’ meant to begin.
Glynda: It already begun. As soon as, Jaune entered the room the ‘interrogation’ started.
Winter: How can you be sure of that? All they’ve done is talk, nothing that hints towards torture has started.
Glynda: She’s sweating…
Everyone looked over to see a bead if sweat drip down, Cinder’s forehead as cold air escaped her lips.
Ironwood: What? That rooms kept cold to stop her from using her fire semblance, why is she sweating?
Ozpin: Good question…
~~~
Jaune: Now… Roman told us all about your evil plans. Well… that of which he was privy to that is…
Jaune put on a show, Cinder could tell he was trying to put her off guard, and it wasn’t working. The sweat falling down her head was getting on her nerves though, the room was freezing cold, and yet she was sweating. She could help, but wonder why.
Jaune: You hired him to steal large quantities of, Dust. Though he says you threatened him. Now, I am curious as to why you needed that much, Dust? You weren’t selling it, and you did make several bombs on that train, but the quantity of, Dust that was used in those bombs is no where near the amount that was stolen. Are you trying to artificially inflate the price of, Dust?
Cinder glared daggers at the man, hoping to burn a hole through this golden retriever of a human being. But, still refused to answer.
Jaune: That would mean you’re working for, Jacques Schnee! I knew you were a heartless bitch, but I couldn’t believe you were that heartless to work with that Grimm spawn bastard son of a bitch!
Cinder: I don’t work for that, Dust whore… Ahh?!
Jaune relished the sound of her little outburst as a vicious grin crept from the corner of his mouth as he stared down the prisoner as she pulled back from him.
Jaune: You spoke~! Ah-hahahaaa~!
~~~
Winter: Calling my sperm donour a, ‘Dust whore;’ I best remember that.
Qrow: Oh, you’re not upset that people are making fun of daddy?
Winter: The majority of the people of, Atlas, and Mantle despise my father, I among the top three individuals that despise the man. I’ve been using photos of the mans face for target practice for the new recruits.
Ozpin: Really now? And, how is that going, Specialist Schnee?
Winter: Better than I expected; Atlas’s military personnel’s average accuracy when handling firearms has gone up by 27%, and is still climbing.
Ironwood: Oh really? I was wondering how that increased happened. Well done, Specialist Schnee. Start implementing that in, Atlas Academy, I’m curious to see how the students will improve if we implement such a… policy.
Winter: I will see it done, Sir.
Ozpin: Should we implement such a policy here as well, Glynda?
Glynda: We shall discuss that later, Ozpin. The Sorcerer is at work.
~~~
Jaune: So tell me… what was your plan…?
Jaune’s smile sent shivers down, Cinder’s; it was a calculated smile, its intent was to unnerve, and put one’s foe on the backfoot.
Cinder: …
Jaune: …
Cinder: …
Jaune: Hmm?
Jaune: Still no talky?
Cinder: …
Jaune: Okay then… So you don’t work for that dust whore. You obviously don’t work with the, White Fang, you’re obviously not a faunas. Unless…?
Jaune was giving her the once over, as if to find some hidden faunas trait that was hidden behind her clothes.
Cinder: I am not a faunas…
Jaune: No…?
(Tap, tap, tap.)
Jaune: I would have guessed you were some sort of snake faunas; Hidden fangs in your mouth, elongated tongue those kind of things. Nothing?
Cinder: No…
Jaune: Well, then you’re obviously working for some sort of hidden secret organization that’s bent on the total, and complete destruction of the world!
Cinder: …
(Tap, tap, tap.)
Jaune: Hmm… you’re quite good at hiding your emotions, but your eyes keep giving things away.
Cinder’s eyes flashed for a moment before she looked away. She cursed herself for letting her emotions escape her harsh grasp. She had done plenty of research on the staff at, Beacon Academy, but, Jaune Arc was one she couldn’t find much information on. At most it was common knowledge that if you asked anyone anything about him they would tell you the same thing. Jaune tended to keep his personal life like that, personal. At most it was know that he was single, and the only son if his family.
Well, as secretive as he may be, it was no where near as…?!
Jaune: Why does the witch want to destroy the world?
~~~
Ironwood: Wait, what?! Ozpin, how does he know about, Salem?
Ozpin: One of, Mr. Arc’s greatest skills is his observational awareness. I thought I was being subtle with any information retaining to, Salem, but he picked up on my… unsaid words. And, forced me to talk…
Ironwood: Forced? Did he use his semblance on you?
Ozpin: Possibly…? I am not sure.
Ironwood: Can’t you tell when he’s using his semblance?
Glynda: It depends on how, Jaune’s using it. It can be very subtle, subtle enough that you don’t even realize he’s using it. Subtle enough that even he doesn’t realize he’s using it at times.
Ozpin: But, when it’s obvious he’s using his semblance you become painfully aware that he’s using it. To say it’s blood curdling in its usage is an understatement of the extreme of extremes.
Qrow: Ughh… I remember when I saw him use it to its fullest extent; Can’t say the guy didn’t have it coming, but throwing up my lunch wasn’t what I had in mind that day…
Ironwood: …?
Winter: What the hell is his semblance?
~~~
Cinder: What witch?
(Tap, tap, tap.)
Jaune: Oh come on now… I know all about, Salem, and Ozpin’s stupid little shadow war going on behind the scenes. So if you plan on playing dumb well…
(Tap, tap, tap)
Jaune: Let’s just say it won’t work well for you.
Cinder could feel sweat dripping down her head in a freezing cold room, his words caused dread to slowly build up in her heart.
Cinder knew that playing dumb wouldn’t work any longer. At best she could deflect, and feed him bread crumps to cause him to look away from her true objective.
Cinder: I was trying to… trying to cause a, Grimm stampede in the hopes of destroying, Vale.
Jaune: To what end?
Cinder: Spread the seeds of chaos, and show, Ozpin, and his allies that his precious little cities are not as safe as they think they are.
Jaune: To what end?
Cinder: I just told you; To destroy, Vale.
Jaune: Don’t play dumb with me my dear, I’m not an idiot like, Ozpin, or General Ironwood. They would take you words at face value, but I can tell you’re hiding something…
Cinder: What is there to hide; you already know everything I planned to do, you’re just trying to confirm what happened for you reports, aren’t you?
Jaune: Well…
(Tap, tap, tap.)
Jaune: You could say that… but, your goal wasn’t to destroy, Vale… No, no, no. Your goal may be quite well thought out, but you don’t care if, Vale fell. No, no, I recon your plan wasn’t to destroy, Vale… A definitive bonus if your plan succeed, but no. Your true goal was to distract, Ozpin… but, to distract him from what tis the question…
Cinder’s heart was beating erratically as this interrogation continued on. She had read, Mercury’s, and Emerald’s reports on the man; they read of a kind, and caring man who would lay his life down for his students without a moment’s hesitation. But, the man currently before her, was not that man.
He exuded an aura of cold, calculating indifference, and a predatory smile that sent shivers down her spine, the exact same smile he was giving her right now. There was a sparkle in his eyes as he came to a simple conclusion; the an answer to a riddle that answers everything he wanted to know, and more.
Jaune: You’re after the, Fall Maiden, aren’t you…?
~~~
Ozpin: The Fall Maiden…?
The answer to a question unasked escaped, Ozpin’s throat in a ragged whisper. It made sense, too much sense that this was, Cinder’s goal, she was after the, Maiden’s powers, and she was willing to destroy, Vale to get it.
Qrow: So it was her, and her cronies that attacked, Amber! Why didn’t I see that…?
Ironwood: She never did finish off, Amber because, Qrow came to the rescue, this is all an elaborate plot to get the, Fall Maiden’s power… I amazed that, Mr. Arc was able to come to such a conclusion.
Glynda: But, to go to such extents to acquire the, Fall Maidens powers seems a bit over the top.
Winter: Couldn’t she have just killed her when she first had the chance, and acquired her powers that way? Why did she plan to destroy, Vale in the process?
~~~
Jaune: Oh? Now isn’t that an interesting reaction!
An involuntary, sharp gasp escaped, Cinder’s lips as he effortlessly hit the nail on the head. Arc, knew about the, Maiden’s, in the case what else did he know! She looked away from him, daring to hope he would not find anymore clues in her broken mask.
Jaune: Excuse me, we’re talking; tis quite rude to look away from someone while we’re talking.
Cinder couldn’t look at this man, there was something off about him…
(Tap, tap, tap)
Jaune: Excuse me, don’t turn awaywe’re still talking here.
Something that could make the skin crawl…
Jaune: Oi, look at me.
Something that was deemed unnatural…
Jaune: We’re not done speaking, Cinder.
Something that was indescribable to the senses…
Jaune: Cinder… Look at me.
But, it was something completely explainable.
Jaune: Haaa…
Something so obvious, and simple, that it was often overlooked as an item of irrelevance.
Jaune: I said…
A semblance.
Jaune: Look at me.
Cinder could feel her entire body being wrenched forward, her muscles screaming in pain as they were forced to move in what felt like an unnatural, but completely natural manner. Her body was set straight in her chair, her head forced to stare at, Jaune face, making her stare into those calm, uncaring cerulean eyes of his. She tried to turn her body, to squirm in defiance as he stared her down, but she could not move her body by a hairs breath.
Jaune: Now, shall we continue our discussion?
Cinder: A-A semblance…
Jaune: Hmm…?
Cinder: A semblance! Y-You’ve been using your semblance on me this whole time! From the moment you entered this room, you’ve been using a semblance on me to make me talk, haven’t you!
Jaune: CorrrrecT!
~~~
Ironwood: Ahh, telekinesis!
Winter: He’s a telepath? That would most certainly explain how he was able to get, Miss Fall to talk.
Qrow: Nope.
Ironwood: What?
Qrow: The kids not telepathic.
Ironwood: He isn’t?
Winter: But, the way he forced her body to move, that’s clearly a telekinesis based semblance.
Qrow: It may look that way, but his semblance is nothing like that. If it was, I would be better at holding my stomachs contents when he decides to… let loose.
Glynda: I’d doubt that.
Qrow: Well… it wouldn’t be as bad… hopefully?
Ironwood: Then what is it?
Ozpin: It would be best to let, Mr. Arc explain it…
~~~
Cinder: Y-You’ve been using your semblance to extract information from me! Haven’t you!
Jaune: Mmmm… In a manner of speaking… I’ve mostly been connecting dots, and what not from what clues you’ve given me. That, and reading your facial expressions, any little bodily ticks you are showing off. I’ve mostly been using my semblance to make you feel a sense of unease. It’s been quite effective if I do say so.
Cinder: What is it; Telekinesis?! Are you some sort of psychic?! What is your semblance?
Jaune: Oh, nothing so… civilized as those…
(Tap, tap, tap.)
Jaune: Nothing like that…
Cinder: That tapping! You’ve been doing that ever since you came here… why?!
Jaune: As I said, ‘To make you feel unease.’
(Tap, tap, tap.)
Jaune: I take it that it has been working.
Cinder: How does tapping your fingers make me feel unease?! Do you have some sort of telekinesis based semblance?! I demand to know!
Jaune: As I said: It may seem liked that, but no. I don’t have a physic, telekinesis, and sort of moving stuff with my mind based semblance.
Cinder: THEN WHAT THE HELL IS IT!!!
Jaune calmly stared at, Cinder as her rugged gasps of breath slowly tapered out. Before he calmly responded to her question.
Jaune: I’ll answer your question: How is that I am making you feel unease, why the tapping, how I forced your body to turn to face me. I’ll explain it all. But, in exchange you have to answer something for me.
Cinder: And, what is that?!
Jaune: What does, Salem want with the keys to the vault, and what does she intend to do with its contents when they are emptied?
Cinder: W-What…? H-How did you figure it out…?
Cinder’s rage, the blazing inferno that burned within her body was suddenly snuffed out as if it was a match struck in the midst of a typhoon. What was replaced was stunned fear. She hadn’t mentioned a single thing, no clues, no hints, but this freak had managed to put together every piece of her plan, and managed to figure out what her true goal really was!
And, all he did was calmly look at her with a cocky smirk forming from the bottom of his lip.
Jaune: Oh I just managed to connect the dots that others leave unseen. Four kingdoms. Four Academies. Four Maidens, and lastly, Four Relics. My educated guess tells me that one of the four relics is hidden in one of the four kingdoms academies. And, that they are kept behind in a secret, hidden vault that requires a key to unlock them. And, that key, is a maiden. Am, I wrong?
Cinder: …
Cinder: You’re correct…
Jaune: Am I know~?
~~~
The group all stood back as, Jaune turned to give them a dark smile as he managed to make, Cinder spill all her information on why she was going to attack, Beacon Academy.
And, it had only been ten minutes.
Glynda: Salem’s after the, Relics? I can only imagine the destruction she could wrought across, Remnant if she had even one of those…
Ironwood: We need to tighten security back in, Atlas. And, in all the other academies at that! In all the kingdoms! We cannot allow her to gain access to any, Relics!
Qrow: What is she even planning to do with those things? They aren’t all that dangerous no are they?
Ozpin: She not after any one, Relic for its individual capabilities… she wants all four of them.
Ironwood: What is the difference is she has one, Relic, or all of them? The destruction she could wreak across, Remnant could be unimaginable!
Ozpin: Not if those two came back…
Ironwood: What?
~~~
Jaune: Excellent! Now that we have all the speculation as to why you are doing this out of the way. Now I must ask who your other accomplices are, and what they are doing, and we can finish everything up once, and for all. Alright?
Cinder: No…
Jaune: No…?
Cinder: You said you would tell me what your semblance was… I answered your question… But, unless you tell me the truth… I won’t tell you anything! It doesn’t matter if you torture me… I will never talk!
Jaune: No, that’s fair… You answered my question, tis only fair that I answer yours in kind. Tell me… I assume you’ve done your research on all of the staff at, Beacon, myself included. So, I can assume you heard about my nickname?
Cinder: Yes… The staff here call you, ‘The Sorcerer.’ But, none of the students know why.
Jaune: That’s because, ‘The Sorcerer,’ isn’t really what my nickname is all about. And, I can assure you, a few students know what the story behind my nickname is, and my semblance is as a result of that. And, the reason why no one knows that start is simply because they just don’t like talking about it.
Jaune: You see… I can use magic…
Cinder: Impossible… Only five people in the world can use magic, and they all happen to be female… which you clearly are not.
Jaune: True… I just like to referring my semblance as magic, helps others… comprehend my semblance, and its abilities.
Cinder: Then what is your semblance…?
Cinder leaned in and scowled at, Jaune as he returned her scowl with a devious and, all knowing smirk as he softly replied.
Jaune: Blood Magic~!
Cinder: What…?
Jaune: Blood Magic! That’s what my semblance is! I can freely manipulate the blood of any living being! Making them my puppet…
Cinder could feel her eyes darting to the right, and lefr, then back to, Jaune, and yet she had no intention in her mind to move her eyes.
Cinder: M-M-My eyes?! You’re moving my eyes?!
Jaune: I can also regulate your heart beat! Why do you think I kept on tapping my finger?
(Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap…)
Cinder focused on her body, slowly she started to feel the controlled beating of her heart as, Jaune tapped his finger to a steady beat.
Cinder: You made my heart race at an unnatural beat… causing my body to go into shock because of my blood wasn’t flowing properly, causing me to…
Jaune: Panic. Yes, tis a very effective way at making people nervous. I have to tap the beat though… I could hold out my hand, and flex my fingers inward, like so…
Jaune held his hand before, Cinder, and simply made a closed fist that lasted, but a hairs breath. However…
Cinder: AHHHHHHH?!!?!
It caused, Cinder to collapse in pain as her breath came in hard, and laboured gasps like a drowning man struggling for air as water filled their lunga. Her eyes widened in horror at the stunning realization of what he had just done to her.
Cinder: You… Y-You… haaahaha… you were crushing my heart?!
Jaune: Correct… My semblance is no doubt among the most powerful there is. I can tell precisely where a person is based upon feeling a persons circulatory systems. I can even tell people apart to some extent.
Jaune turned behind him to look at the one way mirror, and pointed at it.
Jaune: Right there is, Qrow Branwen. I can feel the alcohol in his veins, don’t ask me how, I can’t explain it. Next to, Qrow right there should be, Glynda Goodwitch. I can tell it’s her because the blood flows differently in woman than it does in men.
Jaune: I can also tell it’s her because I can sense more blood in the… front.
Jaune turned back to look at, Cinder; his face etched into a look filled with self loathing, and disscontempt.
Jaune: There are many things I despise about my semblance.
He shook his head in disgust as he pointed back at the mirror.
Jaune: Ahem… right next to her is, Ozpin; I can tell because I can feel his body posture that indicates he is resting on a cane, and that he is holding a bug in his hand. And, all the caffeine in his veins. Guy seriously needs to cut back on the joe…
Jaune: Next to, Ozpin is another woman. I have no idea who she is, but I know she’s there.
Jaune: And, right there is, General James Ironwood. I can only sense half a man partly floating in the air… such a perverse feeling… I can feel the blood flowing to his toes on one leg, but on the other it stops when it reaches his hip. The same on his arms; I can feel it reach his finger tips one one hand, and yet on the other I feel it stop at the shoulder joint… Such a ghastly feeling…
~~~
Winter: B-Blood magic?! That’s his semblance: Blood Magic?!
Ozpin: It is as he says… he can sense, and manipulate the blood in a persons body. To say it’s ghastly is a understatement of a lifetime.
Qrow: He can tell it’s me based on my blood alcohol levels? I better cut back a bit…
Glynda: He knew it was me because of my bust…?
Winter: At least he takes no pleasure in knowing that.
Glynda: Haaa… A gentleman to the end…
Ozpin: James? Are you alright?
James Ironwood gaze was dead stead at staring at his right hand, his robotic hand. It was a terrifying thought, that, Mr. Arc could feel precisely where his body ended, and where his cybernetics began without even touching at him. He understood the pains wrought upon his body in ways no others could, not even the victim of such mutilations could feel.
Ironwood: I can… speculate why I haven’t seen, Mr. Arc until now… Such a semblance must bare heavily on its user…
Ozpin: Jaune tends to keep to himself out of necessity, rather than a desire to be left alone. To many people around is like listening to a thousand voices all at once. Simply put; it’s overwhelming to the senses.
Ironwood: I take it then that, Mr. Arc is done with the interrogations? At least…using his semblance?
Ozpin stared at, Cinder as she managed to regain her breathing, and steadied her heart beat as she stared defiantly at, Jaune. Ozpin shook his head at the notion.
Ozpin: I’m afraid, James… the worse is about to begin…
~~~
Cinder: Haa haaa… Hahahaha!
Jaune: What’s so funny?
Cinder: You told me what your semblance is… I now know what you can do with that semblance of yours… it doesn’t matter what you do now! It doesn’t matter what! I will not tell you anything! You’ll crush my heart before I let anything spill! Come on, Arc! Do your worst!
Jaune: Pfff! Haha… hahaha… Aaaahahahahahaha!
Terror filled, Cinder veins as, Jaune let loose a laugh that found everything, down to most minute of details, in, Cinder’s attempt to show her bravado, her arrogant pride absolutely, unequivocally hilarious.
Jaune: Haha-ha-haaaa…
Jaune: My worst? You think me grasping your heart is the worst I can do…? My dear sweet summers child… I can do so much worser things than that, that honestly; I’m not sure what my worst is!
Jaune: I can bend every bone in your body till it shatters, then put them back together! I can stop your heart, kill you, and then bring you back to life! I can cause a brain aneurysm, and kill you on the spot! Cure you, and again I could bring you back to life! I could crush your entire body, turn every muscle in your body in on yourself until your body is nothing more than a meat cube! And, I know I can do this, because I’ve already done it before, and I will do it again!
Jaune: So tell me, Cinder Fall… Do you want to just tell me who else you are working with, and what are your other plans. Or, shall I torment you with pain unimaginable that I may break your mind from the pain?
Cinder could understand that he was just saying this to scare her, that he wouldn’t got that far to break her. But, she knew deep in her heart, that he could do it. But, she knew he couldn’t kill her, he needed her alive, otherwise all her secrets would go with her to her grave. She resolved her, and she would grin, and bare what was to come.
Cinder: Do your worst asshole! Hak-sptoo!
And, with that she spat on, Jaune’s who merely rubbed it off, and shook his head in disappointment.
Jaune: Haa… very well… I did warn you…
Jaune leaned back in his chair, and held his hand up, before he turned to gaze at, Cinder one last time.
Jaune: You know… They say there are different ways one gains their semblance; Personality, or circumstances… I believe the later one is applicable for me. Cause you see… everyone thinks I’m an only child. When in reality, I’m the only son in my family, when I actually have seven sisters. So, I think I developed my semblance, just to shut them up, because I swear…
Jaune leaned forward, and gave, Cinder one more predatory smile.
Jaune: That seemed to happen at least once a week!
Cinder pondered for a moment what he meant by, ‘once a week.’ Until it dawned on her, and a terrifying thought appeared across her mind. If he knew how to deal with that, then he knew how it was cause, and if he knew how it was cause…?!
“Snap~!”
Cinder:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Then she would know what true pain felt like.
~~~
Haaa…
To think I went through all of that just for that last bit…
More Than You Know (Spencer Reid x Fem!BAU!Reader)
Tumblr media
(Not my gif. Credit to the creator)
——————
Author Masterlist
——————
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem!BAU!Reader.
Summary: You’re Spencer's best friend. You have gone through many things together, but after Spencer is incarcerated, things turn different for both of you. Not to mention you have been in love with him for a long time too. How much will you endure until you can’t take it anymore?
Word Count: 5.9k
TW: ANGST. Strong language. Mention of abduction, drug use, getting shot, death of relatives and loved ones, jail, pregnancy, unsafe sex, and potential cheating. All the deal!
A/N: Not a happy ending, at least for Spencer and Reader. Do you think they could have a chance in the future? (I wrote it as a one-shot, but it makes me kind of sad). Let me know what you think.
Part 2: More Than You Say
Part 3: More Than You Expect (the end)
——————
I don’t have the habit of arriving early at work. I only do it when it is strictly required. I’m not a morning person. I have never been. So you can guess how my mood turns dark when people push me to let go of some minutes of my precious morning sleep, even when Spencer is the one who asks me to.
He called me this morning at 6 am, telling me he needed to talk to me in person. So we agreed to grab a coffee in our usual place before work.
"Thanks for coming," Spencer greets me when I arrive. A harsh expression adorns his features while I sit in the booth before him.
I can’t help the yawn escaping my lips.
“Did I have a choice?” I ask, gesturing to the barista for my regular order.
“I need to talk to you,” he prefaces, rubbing a hand over his eyes. He looks distressed. I narrow my eyes, thinking about what could be causing it.
“Yeah, that’s what you said by phone when you woke me up this morning. Why you didn’t tell me there what’s going on?”
“I couldn't tell you by phone,” he excuses himself as the barista approaches and hands me my coffee. I thank her, returning my gaze to my friend.
My mind starts racing with possibilities, and my heartbeat picks up its rate.
“Something happened to your mom?” I ask cautiously. Spencer shakes his head immediately.
“No. My mom is okay.”
Well, that discards a big issue so that I can breathe a little.
“Nightmares again?”
I can recall how bad nightmares could be for Spencer. Since Hankel and passing by Emily’s dead, Maeve, and then prison, Spencer is a lightning rod for nightmares.
“No. Not in a while.”
Good. Another bad thing out of the list.
“Headaches?”
A big issue that worsened after Doyle stabbed Emily and led Spencer to Maeve.
“No. I’m good with that.”
Okay, I’m running out of options here. Is it the job?
“The bureau wants you to take longer sabbaticals?”
“No! Not that either.”
I give up. I don’t think anything is important enough to make me be here before 7 am.
“Spencer, I’m lost. Just tell me what’s going on,” I urge, running out of patience and dying to know what this is about.
"It's about Alison," he clarifies, and I can’t help but groan.
Seriously? The problem is a girl?
"Alison?" I ask, cocking an eyebrow.
"Yeah, the girl I'm seeing lately?" He adds to help my recall. I know Alison, but I won't waste a chance to mess with Spencer, especially considering he made me up early for this.
"I'm sorry. I don't remember that one. I lost track after Lonna," I shrug. Spencer rolls his eyes, knowing what I’m doing.
"Not now, (Y/N). This is important,” he scolds.
I look at him incredulously. What could be so important about a girl he's seeing?
"Okay, okay. Don't be so dense. What happens with the gorgeous Alison?" I ask, sipping my coffee.
"She may be pregnant," he suddenly says with a grimace.
"What?!" I squeal, almost choking on the coffee in my mouth. Spencer looks around us to see if someone is listening to our conversation.
"Shush! You wanna me repeat what I just said?" he whisper-shouts.
"Come on, Spencer. You must be kidding me.”
I take a napkin to clean the mess I made with my coffee.
“I’m afraid I’m not.”
“How come you, from all the people, don't know what birth control and condoms are?"
Spencer's cheeks flush. He is embarrassed, but his need to confide in someone is greater.
This is eating him alive.
"May I forget to use one a while ago? I mean, we were in a rush, and-" I cut him off.
"No. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to know the details of your sex life. I'm just concerned about how reckless you have become, honestly.”
The last part isn’t intended to sound that rough. Spencer is a grown man who can do whatever he pleases with his life, but I‘m worried about him. Since prison happened, he has been stumbling and making poor decisions, including fooling around with women.
Spencer's gaze drops to the floor, just like a child being scolded by his parents. I hate to see him like this. I hate to see him hurting and lost. So I recant my grown-up role this time.
"Spencer, look at me." I pause until his eyes meet mine. "I'm sorry if it was harsh; I'm just worried, okay? Now tell me, Alison told you?"
He shakes his head.
"Not directly. But she told me she's been feeling sick, and this morning I - I heard her throwing up. And I am almost sure she didn't have her period last month," Spencer recounts each fact as his breathing picks up.
Great. A panic attack is what I needed now.
"Hey, hey. Just breathe, okay?" I urge, calling his attention. He nods and slowly does what I say.
After a minute, he starts to feel better to speak.
"What should I do?" Spencer groans, with both hands grabbing his head.
In a twisted way, I found the scene comical.
Spencer is asking me what to do. To me.
I mean, what could I even tell him? He's my friend, but this is far ahead of what I could advise someone for.
Let alone someone who I have feelings for.
Yeah. That's the hard truth.
Cliche as it sounds, I have feelings for my best friend. A man who will never reciprocate those feelings. That's how fuck up the situation is.
But after years of keeping that secret, I learned how to mask everything for the sake of our friendship and our jobs.
"For starters, we don't know if she is pregnant. Maybe it is just your paranoia. We must be sure, so you must ask her," I instruct. Spencer looks at me in horror as if I just said he needed to jump from the 20th floor.
"What? No! I can't do that!"
"You can, and you will. You can't keep stressing out about something you don't even know!"
"And what if she is? I should marry her?" My eyes widened at that.
And the people call him a genius.
"Spencer, don't rush to the next town when you haven't stepped in this one first. You don't have to do anything you don't want to. You both need to talk and decide if things turn that way, okay?"
He lets out a deep exhale.
"Okay. Okay. You're right."
Even if I want to slap him right now, I know I will never do it. Squeezing his shoulder affectionately, I let out my following words.
"You'll figure it out. Whatever it is, you'll know what to do, and I'll be by your side, okay? You're not alone."
Spencer looks at me with gratitude and a hint of relief. He knows I’m genuine in my statement. He knows I’ll be by his side no matter what.
It always has been that way.
We joined the team almost at the same time. While Jason Gideon recruited Spencer, Aaron Hotchner recruited me. Gideon insisted that Spencer’s brain and knowledge about everything would be an enormous asset to the team. Hotch did the same with me, pointing out how my interpersonal skills and impressive field experience would be valuable to the job. Different reasons, same outcome: being the newest made us closer. And not a long time after, we became best friends.
I was there when Spencer got abducted by Tobias Hankel. I was there when he struggled with his drug addiction. I consoled him when Gideon left and then when he died years later. I cared for him when he got shot in the knee and neck. We cried together when Emily ‘died.’ And after what happened to Maeve, I was there for all steps on the way. The last straw was Mexico and the three months in Millburn. I never missed a visit, and I was by his side when he had to talk to Cat Adams.
And the same way I have been for him, he has been for me. A few months after I joined the team, I got shot in the shoulder, and Spencer helped me a lot. He rode the ambulance with me when I got shot again in the abdomen three years later. He was with me when my dad passed away. Spencer comforted me when one of my long-term boyfriends dumped me. He took a serious role in rooting for me whenever I doubted myself in the job and life.
We know each other like the palm of our hands.
Everybody would have thought our friendship was forged to everlast. And I‘m still adamant about making it that way, even if after a few years of knowing each other, I realized I‘m in love with Spencer. How could I not?
Even at some point, those feelings could have been reciprocal. I noticed things between us changed after Hotch and Morgan left the team.
The stolen glances, the little touches, the overprotectiveness, the subtle flirting. I indulged myself with the idea that it was a natural turn to us be more than friends.
But then Mexico happened.
And things changed for Spencer and me.
The moment we understood what happened and that Spencer would be locked until we could find who did this to him, I didn't rest. I didn't sleep. I barely eat. But I put a brave face on him. I knew he was having the worst time there, so I was who encouraged him every chance I got.
But it didn't matter how hard we tried, how hard I tried. Spencer locked himself and didn't let anyone in. The day he was released, I hugged him first and felt some normalcy. He said how much he missed me, how much he missed us all.
Things went well for a while, but I could tell Spencer wasn't okay. He talked less; he looked distant and disaffected. Sure, Spencer was trying to cope with everything. And as before, I tended my hand to him to hold. And in a way, he took it, but not how it would help him heal.
Our relationship turned instrumental, at least for him.
He started failing in the job, lying to Emily about his whereabouts when he ran late. His mind was distracted more often. If he was reckless at the job before, now it was worse. He snapped more too. And for every time, I was there to cover him up. That's how everyone assumed he was still finding his balance, but I wasn't so sure.
Things worsened when Spencer discovered sex was an excellent way to release frustration. At first, I didn't think it could be a big deal. Getting laid wasn't a big deal. Not ideal for me, but I suppressed my jealousy for his sake. I would choose his well-being ten thousand times before my stupid love for him.
Still, things have not improved. Almost a year after Millburn, Spencer keeps stumbling, getting into trouble, and does not act as he should. I know I have my responsibility quote, but I'm too involved in this cycle to break it.
I want to say at least I have my friend, but that isn’t entirely true. Every time I have needed him in the past year, he hasn't been there. I could tell he hadn’t even noticed I had been losing weight or the doctor’s appointment I had to attend for feeling sick.
I’m alone by myself. It's sad, but I can’t force him. I’m not like that. I would never beg for affection from anyone who doesn’t want to give it, even if I needed it. People would say it is the wrong way, but I cannot be otherwise.
Some days after our coffee shop conversation, Spencer rushes to my desk to tell me the ‘good news.’ False alarm. Alison isn’t pregnant.
Spencer looks relaxed and relieved. Maybe it’s the wake-up call he needs to slow down. My hope is short-lived, though, because while he tells me everything, his phone ding. A smirk appears on his face when he sees the incoming text.
“What is it?” I ask, and Spencer bites his lower lip.
“I have a date,” he answers, typing on his phone.
“With Alison?” I narrow my eyes. He looks at me when he’s done sending the message.
“No! Of course not. I’m not going to make the same mistake again. I told her I needed time to think,” he explains like he’s talking about the weather.
“So you’re going to meet another girl without breaking up with Alison?”
“You can’t break up with someone you’re not officially involved with,” Spencer shrugs.
I want to kill him right now.
“God, Spencer. What are you doing?”
The question is primarily rhetorical, but Spencer answers nonetheless.
“Living, (Y/N). I’m living for the first time in my life.”
Can I argue with that logic? Sure. There is so much I can tell him. But I’m tired. Spencer doesn't see or hear reasons. Not even from me. It seems I have lost the privilege of being listened to by him.
Since that talk, I can’t stop thinking about what I am doing. Am I clasping onto something it doesn't exist anymore?
I don’t know the answer, and I don’t know if I want to get one. I’m just holding until I can’t do it anymore.
And that's how time flies. Things look relatively the same, and I'm just trying to float so I don't drown.
We just ended a gruesome case in Arizona. Our jet landed an hour ago, and everyone is in the mood for a drink. Rossi and Matt are the only ones with excuses to go home early.
Once there, Penelope grabs Luke’s hands and drags him to the dance floor. JJ offers to get us some drinks. Emily volunteers to help her.
Spencer is quiet, looking at me, but I barely notice. My mind is elsewhere.
“Are you okay?” He asks. The question takes me by surprise. In the past weeks, we haven’t talked that much.
“Yeah. Good. The case, you know?”
Spencer nods, but I see the worry lingering.
“You know you can tell me anything, right?”
I want to say I believe him, but I don’t. It’s been months since I felt that close to him. But even if I don’t believe him, I may voice my concern again.
“I don’t know,” I preface, and Spencer’s attention is full on me. It's weird, to say the least, but I will take the chance. “There is this thing bugging me. About our-” I can’t end my idea before the sound of someone squealing ‘Spencer!’ reach our ears.
The man in question snaps his head up. It's Alison. Before I can say anything, he stands, and after mumbling a ‘sorry,’ he goes to the girl calling his name.
There it goes. Nothing. Again.
I sigh before sipping my drink. What was I hoping, anyway?
JJ and Emily return to our table and ask for Spencer. Not even looking behind, I gesture to my back. They understand.
We set for drinking and complaining about whatever comes to mind. I know they know, but they are respectful enough not to push me.
The night is progressing, and I enroll in conversation with Luke and Penelope when they return from their dancing. After they leave, Emily cracks jokes to make me laugh, and JJ does her best to lose a little.
The sound of glass crushing gets our attention to the bar. There he was. Spencer is between two girls who are arguing about something. I recognize Alison, but not the other one.
“Ups. Someone is in trouble,” Emily mused. JJ shakes her head in a disapproving mood. I see Spencer’s eyes darting between the girls and trying to soothe the argument, failing miserably.
I ponder my options. I can leave him to deal with his mess for once or give him a hand. Emily reads my mind.
“Are you sure?” she asks. I shrug, standing from my spot.
“I wouldn’t like to see him complaining because one of those girls broke a bottle on his head.”
I stroll to where the action is happening, morphing my annoyed look into a confident one.
"Hey baby, I was looking for you!” I chirp, using the most loving voice as my arms wrap around Spencer’s torso.
The girls don’t look happy with my intrusion.
"We were talking with Spencer," Alison says as if I don't know that.
"Yeah, he was about to explain who he’ll choose between us," the other girl adds.
If I could have rolled my eyes, I would do it. Are they that naive? But they have a point: maybe Spencer would do what they want under pressure, even if he doesn't like it. That's why I‘m here. I know him.
"I'm so sorry, girls, but you got it wrong. This man is mine, and believe me when I tell you, you should be walking away right now. You don't want to mess with me, his wife, and the mother of his child waiting for us at home, right baby?" Now I talk to him.
Spencer's mouth goes agape, even more than Alison's and the other girl's.
"Your what?!" Alison yells. Her eyes are a few inches to pop out of their sockets.
"You have a child?!" The other looks as shocked as Alison.
Spencer only stutters incoherent words. They aren’t needed, though. After cursing him and letting out a bunch of expletives, both girls stomp out of the bar.
That’s when I notice I still have my arms around him. I pull away and clear my throat.
"You're welcome," I say before turning into my heels.
Spencer wraps my wrist to stop me. His eyes are curious, examining my features as if reading me. I return an annoyed look.
"What?"
"Why did you do it?" He asks as if he is really intrigued by my actions. It may feel more natural for me than for him.
"To save your ass? Come on, Reid. They would have eaten you alive," I scoff. Spencer chuckles, knowing that it is what could have happened.
"Yeah. But why you saved my ass? You could have feasted with the scandal."
I shrug. For a second, it crossed my mind just to be honest and give him a piece of my mind. But it‘s dangerous territory, so I opt for the safer way.
"That's what the friends are for. Even if you deserve being kicked in your ass sometimes," I try to sound light like it isn’t a big deal.
"Friends, uh?" Spencer points, mulling my words. I don't know why that specific word interests him, but I don’t read into it. "Well, thank you, then."
Now he is grinning as if a heavy weight has been lifted from his shoulders.
"You're going home?" I ask, thinking Spencer only wants to disappear from the bar after the recent events. He narrows his eyes and shakes his head like I’m talking nonsense.
"No. Not when I'm free to have a good time, at last."
"What?"
"Do you see those girls over there?" He points with his look to a group of women giggling and drinking on the opposite side of the bar.
My stomach drops to my feet as I look at him in disbelief.
"Are you fucking kidding me right now?"
"To you? I would never. You're my best friend. Thanks again," Spencer says warmly before kissing my cheek and strolling to the group he has spotted.
And here I am, standing in the middle of the bar, with words stuck in my throat and the feeling that the last 10 minutes hadn't even happened. The bartender stares at me with that empathetic look that reflects more pity than anything else. I look back at him and ask for a drink. Since I’m there, I won’t waste the chance of alcohol replacing the burning I already feel in my stomach.
"Don't tell me. You saved his ass just to let him have the chance to screw it up again," Emily summarizes when I return to the table with my drink. Both have seen all the action in the bar that transpired a while ago.
"That's what the friends are for, right?" I mockingly parrot my own words. JJ scoffs.
"I don't doubt your loyalty to Spence. But don't you think it's too much? I mean, you cover him in all your capacities, and he's not taking any responsibility for his actions," she proffers. Emily nods in agreement.
"He has been through a lot. He's lost and needs help," I argue, sipping my vodka.
"We know that. But it's time Spencer takes the reign of his life. Also, it's time you focus on your own," Emily says, pointing her index finger at me.
"What do you mean?" I ask defensively.
And there are again the pity looks.
"We know you have feelings for him. That's more than friendship, we can tell. But it's not going anywhere, and you know it. When was the last time you dated, uh?" JJ questions. Her words stab me right in my chest. I let out a deep sigh.
"Exactly." Emily seconds. "You need to think about what's healthy for you. That doesn't mean you don't care about Spencer, but he must figure it out himself."
As a cue, I turn to look at the bar direction. Spencer wraps his arm around a girl's waist, his lips ghosting her ear, whispering God knows what but making the girl giggle.
JJ and Emily are right. I’m not genuinely helping him. It is just the faint hope that I could make him see me. Really see me.
After another drink with the girls, I decide to go home.
And I decide it is time to let him go.
But honestly speaking, what does that mean? It's not that feelings can disappear overnight. It's not that one day you wake up and say, "That's enough." At the end of the day - feelings aside - Spencer is my friend, and he trusts me even in his darkest moments. But the girls are right when they say friendship goes both ways. It doesn't work if he can't respect my boundaries.
So I went over my limits. What am I willing to tolerate, and what am I not? In the first place, I won’t cover him up in lies in front of the team anymore. If he has to take a scolding from Emily for being irresponsible, so be it. Second, I won’t put up with being the go-to person for any of his mess with women. And finally, I’m not going to justify his behavior to anyone. If anyone has a problem with him, they should tell him directly. I would no longer be an interlocutor between Spencer Reid and the rest of the world.
It didn’t pass long before those limits were tested again.
Some days after what happened at the bar, I arrived at the BAU for a new case. We scheduled the meeting in the conference room at 9:00.
It’s 9:05, and Spencer still has yet to arrive. As expected, everyone is asking me what happened to Reid. I shrug. At the same time, Spencer texts me, saying he is running late and asking me to say he had a problem on the subway. I know it isn’t true, so I pretend I never got the message. That brought him explaining himself to Emily when he arrived all disheveled at 9:30.
Things like that keep happening. Spencer keeps showing up late for work and lies about the reasons. Sometimes he is nowhere to see in the bullpen, only to reappear with his hair untamed and his shirt partially untucked. Those times, opposite to the previous ones, I don’t tell him to fix himself.
Not to mention the number of calls and texts he has sent me in unholy hours to ask me what he should do about his new conquers. Calls and texts I start to ignore. That last behavior is what he resented the most, I could tell.
One morning he shows up at the conference room where I’m checking a stack of files scattered over the table. The rest of the team minding their own business downstairs.
"Are you mad at me?" He bluntly asks. I raise an eyebrow, looking at him from my manila folder.
"No. I'm not,” I reply, unbothered. But if I know Spencer enough, he will not be satisfied with my answer.
"Yes, you are. You have been avoiding me. Last night I called you, and you didn't answer."
He is the one mad at me. Or at least upset. Which one was it? It doesn’t matter; he feels ignored, and he hates it.
"I was sleeping,” I answer with the same flat tone. That spurs more of his anger.
"That's not true. You don't hit the pillow before 1 am!"
Well, Spencer does pay attention, at least for that kind of thing. Months ago, I would have felt flattered. Now? It feels void and just to his service.
"Maybe last night I did."
Spencer scoffs this time.
"I don't think so. I know you (Y/N),” he defies. Maybe he thought I would bite the bullet and apologize for ignoring him.
"Whatever. Why you called me, anyway? Did you want to tell me how your new girl screamed your name in bed?" I deadpan.
Spencer’s eyes widened.
"What?! No! I- I just,” he pauses. “I just wanted to talk to you!"
“Why?” I interject.
I’m so tired of this. I’m tired of the real reasons why Spencer needs me.
His face flushes, thinking of his following words.
“I - uh. We haven’t talked in a long time. Our last movie night was a month ago. And you haven’t called me either. I miss you,” he mumbles.
I huff a laugh. Does he really think I would believe that?
“You see me every day here, Reid,” I say with the same monotonous tone, returning my gaze to the file I’m reading.
Reid. That should have been the sign he searches for, even if his mind isn’t clear enough to put two and two together.
He scoots closer, softly bending down the file in my hands.
“(Y/N), hey. Please, talk to me. Don’t let me in the dark,” he pleads. I turn my gaze away from him. The sadness and the anger boil inside. It’s exhausting.
“I'm sorry. Whatever I did, I’m sorry. I want to fix it. Tell me what it is,” Spencer insists, this time with a hand over mine.
I glance at him in silence. Could a look be enough to convey everything stuck in my chest? Years ago, it could have worked with Spencer. The friendship we had back then was stronger enough to make that happen. Just a look, and each one knew what the other was thinking. Now it is just noise that could or not mean something.
How he looks at me now, lost in the signs I‘m giving him and eager for me to say something, tells me what I already know. I wonder if I would let it out this time or bottle it up again.
“I’m just tired, you know?”
My mouth works on its own accord. My brain isn’t able to stop it. Spencer examines my face looking for something to anticipate what could be coming. His clueless is irritating.
“I’m tired of hoping you can realize how badly you hurt yourself—and waiting for you to do something about it,” I blurt, knowing this is not what he wants to hear.
“What do you mean?” He asks, leaning back in a defensive mode.
“You know exactly what I mean. You are failing yourself, Spencer. You still can’t stand your ground. And you keep ignoring it!”
I punctuate my statement by shoving the file over the table. Spencer gets startled by my action.
“If you are talking about what happened the other night in the bar. It doesn't -” He explains, but I cut him off.
“No! It's everything! Can’t you see it? It's the way you lie to your teammates, the way you do your job, like it doesn't matter to you. The way you turn everything into something meaningless. The relationships you have, your job, your friends. Everything!”
Spencer’s face steels. I know he doesn't like being called out. He hates that. But I wouldn’t spare him the trouble this time.
“You are being unfair (Y/N),” he says with gritted teeth, standing to put some distance from me.
“Am I? Oh, no. If something I’m sure of is the unfairness doesn't fall on me.”
I spit back, standing as well to show him I wouldn’t back off. After running his hands through his hair, he turns to me. He has a look of betrayal on him.
Betrayal? The audacity of this man.
"Yes! You are! You, better than anyone, know it hasn't been easy for me! Life - life in Millburn changed me, and it has been so difficult to settle it down. You know that! Those were the worst three months of my life!"
Millburn. It was like a prohibited word for us. He didn't like to say it or hear it from me.
"So that gives you the right to ruin the good things in your life, uh? Because you are a lost soul in this world?” I try to reason, but that only gives me a burlesque laugh from him.
"And what if it were so? It's not like I have much to lose, right?"
And there it is—the broken man. The guy who still believes no one loves him and he doesn't deserve to be loved. All the years of work to put those walls down returned to zero after he got imprisoned.
"Do you really believe that? Do you really believe your self-destructive behavior only affects you? I didn't think you were so selfish, Spencer."
Although I know the answer, I ask nonetheless. And even though I know that selfishness isn’t something Spencer deliberately wants, maybe voicing it could help me to bring him back.
“Selfish? Says the person I trusted with my life, and now it’s throwing everything back to me?”
Or not.
“Stop doing that! Stop assuming everyone is attacking you! If we need to blame someone, of course, we can blame Cat Adams. But now she’s dead, Spencer! And what about you? For God’s sake! You had endured so much in your life, and now you’re going to let that bitch keep destroying you from the grave?”
My voice gets hoarse from the yelling, and for the first time during this conversation, Spencer doesn't spit something back immediately.
The hurt expression on his face morphs into defeat. He doesn't want to fight back. He doesn’t want to get out of the hole.
We keep looking at each other silently, daring the other to say anything.
Spencer tries to mask his glassy eyes, breaking eye contact and looking at the ceiling. And seeing him like this spurs the desire to run and hug him, holding him. But I can’t. I swore not to back down.
“I’m sorry, (Y/N). But this is who I am now,” he mumbles after a few minutes.
I exhale sharply. Why is it so difficult for him to understand?
“Keep telling yourself that, but deep down, you know it's not true,” I argue, but with no energy to keep yelling. But it's like fuel to Spencer’s anger.
“Why do you care anyway? Is it because you are my friend?” He mockingly air quotes the word ‘friend.’ “Well, it seems my friendship doesn't satisfy you anymore, does it?”
I pinch the bridge of my nose, closing my eyes.
“Don’t say that.”
“Why not? You are not comfortable with the person I am. You don't want my company anymore. You don’t trust me. It's very clear to me.”
I need to get out of here before I say something I may regret or Spencer does it burying any chance of us being okay again.
“Where are you going? Doesn’t feel okay hearing the truth, (Y/N)?”
“You are angry, and we can’t keep talking like this,” I mumbled, trying to pass to the exit door.
“Are you chicken out now? That's how you understand loyalty?” Spencer calls me out this time. He’s testing me, and I can’t take it anymore.
“Don’t question my loyalty. If anything, loyalty is what you have been getting from me since always! Don’t you dare to doubt it!”
My voice is going to break at any minute, and I don’t know what to do to push away this suffocating feeling.
”Let me have suspicions about that,” he scoffs, and I want to cry.
How unfair. How painful.
“Oh no, no, no. Not that. You know what? I’m done. Fuck you, Spencer! Fuck you and your fucking cluelessness and self-loathing. I have been by your side in thick and thin. I have given you everything!”
I bet my screaming is being heard throughout the entire floor right now, but I don’t fucking care. I’m not going to stop right now. “God! Even I would have died for you! But you don’t deserve anything of it. You don’t deserve my loyalty and much less my love.”
I notice how Spencer’s eyes widen with my last sentence.
“Your what,” he barely mumbles.
The secret is out. But it's too late. I pinch the bridge of my nose and take a deep breath.
“Yes. You heard right. I said, ‘My love.’ Because I fucking love you. I have been in love with you for ages! But I chose our friendship above all, and what I got? A friend who can’t see beyond his shit. Hell, everyone’s right. I deserve better!”
I can’t stop the tears from springing, and I hate myself for not being stronger to endure this.
“(Y/N)… why you didn't tell me?”
He's being cautious and slowly tries to approach, reaching for my hand.
“Don’t fucking touch me!”
“(Y/N),” he tries again. “We can talk about this, please.”
I hate this. I don't want his pity. Honestly, I don't want anything at all. I thought saying the truth would help me to lift a weight from my shoulders. Now I just want to run anywhere in the world where nobody knows me. I’m sick, and being by his side, in any capacity, would no do better to me.
“No. We can’t. Too little too late, Spencer. I’m done. I really hope you can find whatever you're looking for. I hope you do. You deserve to be happy. And so do I. Take care, okay? And I’m sorry for lying to you. I told you I’ll always be by your side, but I can’t. Not like this.”
I look at him for the last time, patting his shoulder and giving him a sad smile. He doesn't say anything; he only stands there, following my steps with his gaze until I reach the door and shut it behind me.
Hey, Dragon Prince fans, let's play a game! Season 7 is (kinda near ish) so how about for season 7, we post 7 things we want to see!
I'll start:
Laurelion - I've been curious about them for so long now. I would really like to know more about them. It's a shame the necklace Claudia found of theirs didn't come with a backstory note.
Elarion - Probably one of my most wanted things to see, Elarion has intrigued me, like Laurelion, for a long time but longer. I want to know what happened there. I want to know the full relationship between Ziard and Aaravos. Were they friends? Acquaintances? Did Aaravos help with building the city? He gifted them Dark Magic so he had to be there for a while right? I need to know more.
Hot take here but I don't want a storyline where Ezran is mad at Runaan for killing Harrow. Why? Well because Zubeia was the one who called the attack. Runaan was doing his job. If Ezran is upset with Runaan, he should be upset with Zubeia too. I don't want it to take up unnecessary screen time when this is the last season of this arc and maybe (but hopefully not) of this show.
Another thing I don't want is for Aaravos to be coined. I know it's a popular theory on how he's going to be defeated but he literally just got out of his prison. I feel it would be super anti-climatic just to imprison him again, especially after waiting for him to get out after 6 seasons. And he's supposed to be one of the most powerful beings alive, coining him after him only being out for one season would be kind of a joke tbh. And for him as someone who has been betrayed in the past, he wouldn't let his guard down a second time so it wouldn't make sense.
Leola flashbacks. I just want to see her.
I want to know why Stella has been yeeting stuff in the background. I actually hope it has juicy relevance.
Last but not least, Aaravos is finally out man! I want to see him just do things! And I am especially looking forward to seeing what his relationship with Claudia will be like. We know they spent 2 years DMing each other via a magic sparkle catapiller so now he's free, it'll be more hectic and I'm here for it.
How about you guys? What are you hoping to see in season 7?
The Promise of Us: Chapter 55
Tumblr media
remember when I said I was writing something cute and fluffy :') this has part of it, next chapter has more
Walking the path back to the church, their dollies loaded with food and supplies, Daryl keeps his head down, lost in the swirling maze of thoughts that circle around Y/N. His mind is a whirlwind, but it’s the kind that settles something inside him, something he’s been feeling for longer than he’s ever had the courage to admit. The connection he has with her—it’s stronger than anything he’s ever known. Through every nightmare, every mile of blood-soaked ground, it’s only ever been her. He knows it, always did, really. But it's clear as day now.
The church looms ahead, offering a kind of safety they haven’t known in a while, but the tension within the group digs into him. He thinks of his closest friend–Carol. She’s been quiet, too quiet, and whatever happened out there with her, the girls, and Tyreese—it’s marked her, left her with that haunted look he catches every now and then. He’s been in that darkness before and he can tell she’s carrying something heavy, but he doesn’t push. He supposes they’re all carrying something now.
And then there’s Gabriel. The priest’s polite smiles and darting eyes grate on him, as if the man's whole being is wrapped in something he’s too afraid to face. There’s a jitteriness to him, a lurking guilt that only deepens Daryl’s distrust. He’s seen men haunted by the things they’ve done, but Gabriel’s guarded eyes, clutching his Bible like it might save him—it all feels like a mask hiding something he’s not ready to let anyone see.
But it’s Y/N who fills his thoughts, rising above the noise, her face, her voice pulling him in like a lifeline. He doesn’t know when it happened, maybe even before the world went to hell, but the thought of a world without her is one he can’t bear. Hell, he’d already tried that—already felt what it was like to think she was gone, that she’d disappeared along with everything else after the prison. And the guilt that settled in after...those days with Beth, thinking he might find something in someone else’s company, feels like a faint shadow now. She had been a flicker of light in the dark, but nothing—nothing—like what he has with Y/N.
For a moment, he pictures her beside him not just in these ruins, not just surviving day to day, but something different, something that isn’t about waiting or putting things off like the world they left behind. He wants that with her, whatever “that” means out here. She’s been a part of him longer than he’d even known, and all he wants now is to make sure she knows it, to find a way to make it real, even if he can’t find the words yet.
Rick watches him, raising a brow as Daryl fidgets with something in his hand. “You good?” Rick’s voice is careful, a touch of something familiar. "Whatcha got there?”
Daryl’s head snaps up, his grip relaxing just slightly as he opens his hand, giving Rick a glimpse of what he’s been holding tight. Rick’s gaze drops, surprise flickering in his eyes, quickly replaced by something else—a glimmer of warmth, something Daryl hasn’t seen in a long time.
Rick’s mouth edges up, a small, genuine smile, and he glances back at the path ahead.
“What?” Daryl asks, maybe a little too defensively, his own heart hammering at the question.
Rick chuckles quietly, his tone lowering, almost as if he’s talking more to himself than anyone else. “Just happy for ya. We all need somethin’ good.” He pauses, his voice softer, “She needs somethin’ good.”
The words hit Daryl hard, settling deep in his chest. He feels the weight of what he’s holding, a quiet promise he’s not sure how to share, but one he’ll keep close for her.
❥・・❥・・❥・・❥・・❥・・❥・・❥・・❥・・❥
You
The low hum of voices and soft laughter fills the room as everyone settles into the warmth the church walls provide. Contentment settles over you as you lean back against the pew, watching Glenn eagerly reach for seconds and Maggie nudge him, laughing softly. You glance over at Daryl, the warm candlelight flickering over his face, casting shadows along his cheekbones. He’s licking his lips, catching a hint of sauce on his mouth, and there’s a crinkle at the corners of his eyes as he glances at you, something knowing and soft there that feels like it was always meant just for you. From your quiet corner, both of you sit apart from the others, content to watch them for a while. There’s a warmth in the air, a sense of safety none of you have felt in a long time, and the satisfaction of full bellies—something you know many of you have been missing for far too long.
“Thank you,” you murmur quietly, looking over at Daryl beside you, “for going out there for all of this.”
“Wasn’t just me,” he gruffs, eyes dropping to his hands. He licks the remnants of food from his fingers, and you can’t help but watch the way his lips purse around each one, how the candlelight makes his skin look almost golden. He catches you looking, smirking slightly. “Surprised you kept your promise fer once,” he teases, voice low, barely above a mumble.
“Oh, yeah? Wha’s that supposed to mean?” You lean into him, your voice light and challenging.
“Actually stayed put when ya said ya would,” he teases back, leaning closer. He’s relaxed, in his own Daryl way, but there’s a glint in his eyes that tugs at something deep inside you. You roll your eyes and set your plate down, pulling your legs up close, hugging them to your chest as you turn to him. His gaze meets yours, holding it for a beat longer than usual. There’s an energy in the air, something tender and open between you, pulling you closer until you’re so near, you can feel the warmth of his breath.
You reach over, fingers just brushing his cheek before he leans into it. It feels like gravity pulling you together, and before either of you can think twice, his lips are on yours, soft and tentative. You have had enough of pretending like you didn’t want to spend every waking moment savoring him, being this close after what you’d been through. There’s a sweetness to his kiss, a hint of shyness, like he’s still testing how close he can let himself get, even now. But he lets his hand come up, fingers curling around the back of your neck, drawing you in deeper. His thumb brushes along your jaw, and the softness of his touch nearly breaks you, making you feel like the world around you has fallen away.
When he pulls back, his cheeks are tinged pink, eyes flickering down briefly before he clears his throat, almost like he’s caught off guard by his own feelings. He’s close, still leaning in, the hand on the back of your neck now wrapping around your own fingers. His free hand fumbles in his pocket before he produces something, shaking just slightly. He opens his palm to reveal a simple, thin gold band, the light catching on its smooth surface.
“Found it…” he starts, voice rough, “at the food bank. Damn walker had it on, but I thought…it just…looked like somethin’ that would suit ya.”
You can see the awkwardness creeping over him, his eyes shifting away, his thumb rubbing the side of the ring as if he’s trying to gather the words together in his mind. His gaze flickers back to yours, and he shifts, seeming to struggle to stay still under the weight of what he wants to say.
“Ain't much for sayin’ stuff like this, you know that, but…” He swallows, his eyes catching yours with a rare softness, “All that time apart, every second…it felt like I was losin’ my mind, like I was losin’ somethin’ I didn’t know how to name. Hell, you’re the only damn thing that’s ever made sense, really.”
He looks down at the ring, then back at you, the vulnerability in his gaze almost breaking your heart. “I don’t ever wanna be apart from ya again, ya hear? Been wantin’ this—whatever this is, been wantin’ it since the start, I just didn’t get it back then. You were always…” he pauses, his thumb brushing your hand, “center of it all. Since we were kids. Hell, even through that mess with Shane. You were it, even then. Just took me a while to figure out what was goin’ on up here,” he mutters, tapping the side of his head. “You’re the center of everythin’ for me, always have been.”
He clears his throat, swallowing hard as he lifts the ring between you both. “So…you think maybe…maybe you’d wanna…be mine? Be my... my wife?” His voice is barely more than a whisper, his gaze full of hope and the slightest tremor of fear.
The quiet intimacy of the room melts away everything else around you, leaving just the soft glow of the candles and the feeling of Daryl’s hand wrapped around yours. His words hang in the air, filling the silence with something both fragile and heavy. You can feel your heart pounding, every beat echoing his words back at you as his thumb gently rubs over your knuckles. His voice is so raw, so open—more vulnerable than you’ve ever heard it. The look in his eyes reaches deep inside you, stirring a warmth that feels both achingly familiar and yet entirely new.
Without even realizing it, you reach up again, brushing your fingers along the rough edge of his jaw, your touch tender and careful. Your hand trembles as you move it, and you feel a faint, almost giddy smile tugging at your lips as you try to steady yourself. He watches you, waiting, his gaze full of nervousness and hope, and you feel your chest tighten again at the vulnerability you see in him.
You glance down at the ring, touching it lightly, letting your fingers brush over his palm as you look back up at him, heart racing. “You don’t even know,” you whisper, voice thick with emotion, and you let out a shaky laugh, glancing down as you blink back the tears that blur your vision. “From the very start, Daryl. Since we were kids, then even when we didn’t talk, when things got…messy. You were there, always a part of me,” You pause, the memories rushing through your mind. “I think, even then, you were already everything to me. But I was too scared to understand it.”
You swallow, the words tumbling out in a rush, like they’ve been waiting all this time to find their way to him. “Through everything—losing people, the farm, Shane, and then when I thought I’d lost you for good when the prison fell and I…” Your voice breaks, and you can’t bring yourself to finish the thought. The memory of that emptiness, of thinking he was gone forever, sits like a weight in your chest, and a tear slips down your cheek. You squeeze his hand, grounding yourself in his warmth.
“I don’t want to go through this world without you. I can’t. I won't.” Your voice is barely more than a murmur, your thumb brushing along his knuckles as your other hand cups his face, feeling the rough stubble beneath your fingertips. “You’re it for me, Daryl… the center of my everything too. I don’t know if I’ve ever been sure of anything, but I’ve always been sure of you.”
A quiet, overwhelming joy rises in you, mixed with all the love you’d never put into words until now. “Yes, Daryl… yes, of course, yes,” you whisper, and you feel his hand tighten around yours, steadying you. You let out a breathless laugh, one hand still resting against his cheek as you watch his face, seeing a softness in his eyes that he rarely lets anyone see.
He lets out a small, almost relieved breath, his gaze fixed on you like he’s afraid this moment might slip away. You lean forward, meeting his lips in a kiss that holds everything—every unspoken promise, every moment you’ve shared, every piece of your heart that’s been his all along. It’s soft, warm, a kind of love you feel down to your bones.
When you finally pull back, your forehead rests against his, and his fingers, a little shaky, slide the ring onto your finger. It’s a simple, worn band, but in his hands, it’s perfect, and you can’t help but smile, feeling more whole than you have in a long, long time.
Just as you’re catching your breath, feeling the warmth of Daryl’s hand in yours, a loud whoop cuts through the soft murmurs in the room. You turn, startled, to see Rick grinning wide, hands clapped together as he lets out a hearty, joyful cheer. The rest of the group catches on, and suddenly, laughter and clapping fill the room. Faces light up with smiles, everyone cheering, and you can’t help but feel the blush spread hot across your cheeks. Daryl grunts beside you, scratching the back of his neck, his usual awkward discomfort more obvious than ever.
From somewhere in the crowd, Glenn hollers, “Hey, Father Gabriel, think you can ordain a wedding on the fly?” He’s laughing, but Maggie’s already in front of you, pulling you both up from the pew, her face bright with excitement.
“Oh, c’mon! Let’s make it official!” she says, guiding you both toward the front, and Daryl shoots you a helpless look that makes you laugh even more.
As Father Gabriel steps up, he clears his throat, looking as surprised as he is pleased. You and Daryl share a look—half-embarrassed, half-disbelieving—as Gabriel begins reciting some heartfelt words, ones you can barely hear over the pounding of your heart and the laughter echoing around the room.
"By the power invested in me," Gabriel announces, with a solemnity that almost makes the whole thing seem real, "I now pronounce you husband and wife."
The room erupts into louder cheers, and you look up at Daryl, grinning. He stares back at you with that same look of wonder, that softness, before his hand slips to the back of your neck and pulls you close for another kiss, sealing the moment as husband and wife. The cheers get louder--as loud as this world would allow without inviting any unwanted guests--and you’re both laughing, happiness bubbling up in you so overwhelming it almost hurts.
But before you can get too caught up in it, Daryl pulls back, shaking his head, his face flushed as he turns to the group. “Alright, enough’a this!” he grunts with a playful glare. He scoops you up into his arms, catching you off guard, and everyone smiles as he turns, heading for the back office. “Gotta get away from you people! Ain’t nothin’ private ‘round here,” he calls over his shoulder, a gruff smile breaking through.
With everyone still laughing and cheering behind you, Daryl carries you out of the room, his face softening as he glances down at you, something quiet and tender in his eyes. It’s a moment that feels like yours alone, and for once, everything feels right. You’re finally his, and he’s finally yours.
Chapter Two
On Board
TWO YEARS EARLIER
You didn’t mean to yell at Price how you did. He was just trying to help, just like you were. But none of it had to be this way. No one had to get shot. No one had to get hurt. Mr. Diyoza was just trying to protect his only daughter. If anyone on your team had kids, they would do the same. It didn’t matter what Diyoza did wrong because, in his eyes, she was still his little girl.
And now you're holding kitchen cloths to her throat, praying that it was enough. You weren’t religious, but praying seemed like the only thing you could resort to. It didn’t matter if your prayer was going to a god or some other universal being. It just needed to be heard by someone and you needed that someone to give you at least a grain of hope to keep going.
“Please, to whoever or whatever is out there, keep her alive. I know she has done wrong, but this isn’t how she deserves to die. Let her learn from her mistakes, but please don’t take her away,” you murmured as you prayed, down on both knees and clasping your hands together on top of the cloth, keeping Diyoza from losing too much blood.
She was unconscious, but still breathing, which meant she didn’t cut too deep, which also meant there was a chance she could make it. After this long, she should have bled out and died. Maybe it was the cold air, but whatever it was, you were grateful.
As you kept the pressure over Diyoza’s throat, you gazed over at the rest of your teammates who were staring back at you, watching you like you were doing something wrong.
“The fuck are you all staring at?” you blurted out.
“She’s a terrorist. Why are you still trying to save her? Let her die a coward,” Bravo 3-8 answered.
You took a deep breath before you lost your mind. It was a rational thought. All terrorists were supposed to die. But Charmaine Diyoza wasn’t only a terrorist. She was your friend. She trained all of you. All of your team had some sort of connection with her. How could this be so easy for them?
“She’s your colonel,” you replied.
“She was our colonel. Now, she is a prisoner deserving of punishment,” Bravo 3-8 said.
He was the only one that would speak. It seemed like everyone else had some kind of remorse, but not him. Bravo 3-8 had always been the one teammate you bumped heads with the most. With the 141, he was an angel, but back on your own base, he caused you and Diyoza hell, but especially you. You figured it was because you were a woman, but Diyoza was, too. However, you had heard many times that Diyoza was more respectable because she was taller. Stronger. More capable of being a SEAL than you were.
But that didn’t matter to the government. You were both still women, so neither of you were supposed to be here. Neither of you should or could ever do what a man could, and at some point, you believed it. You almost dropped out of the SEALS camp because of an incident that happened, but a protective lieutenant and encouraging colonel kept your head in the game. If it wasn’t for them, you wouldn’t be here.
And now you're sitting with one of the few people who kept your hopes up, trying to keep her alive because she lost the hope she gave you. How ironic.
“We are not letting her die. Sure, she deserves to be punished, but she can’t be punished if she’s dead. If-When she lives, she will be sent to the penal colony on Eligius IV. But her worst punishment of all is having to live with her actions and what she has become. That is punishment enough,” you responded.
It was true. Diyoza would have to live with the guilt of massacring innocent people to get the attention of the government that she wanted. Even if she didn’t regret it now, she would one day.
Everyone was quiet. The aircraft was cold and there was no more bickering about whether to let Diyoza live. She was going to live and have to face the team that had so much faith in her.
The metal of the aircraft did nothing to decrease the freezing air that seeped through the terribly insulated plane. Just before you went to capture Diyoza, Simon had given you his poncho because you hated even the slight breeze of air. You used it to cover yourself up and find warmth and comfort in his scent that lingered on the oversized hooded piece of clothing. You prepared yourself to lie against Diyoza while keeping pressure on her neck, but you had to do a headcount first.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. You counted.
“What the hell?” you said.
“What is it?” one soldier asked.
“There’s eight of you here,” you answered.
“Yea. So what?” the same soldier replied.
You felt yourself start to breathe heavier and you could practically hear your heart thudding out of your chest. “So who’s flying the plane?”
PRESENT DAY
The team skulked about the piles of bodies, many of them still decomposing, their flesh still intact with their bones.
“What if it’s them? Squadron Eight,” Gaz stated.
As much as Ghost wanted to believe that, he knew it wasn’t true.
“There are too many bodies and it’s been two years. All their flesh would be long gone by now. These are recent deaths,” Ghost said.
He couldn’t afford to be thinking about you right now. He needed to be thinking about getting the anti-virus to deliver to the city. Then, once the mission is over, he can go back to reminiscing about the days you were here with him.
Ghost’s direct answer sent chills up the team’s spines. If this wasn’t your squadron, then who was it and what could have placed their bones in piles like this? From what they could see, there were no animals around big enough to kill the people, let alone drag their bodies into a pile. These bodies were at least a month old, but some of them were no more than a week. What could have done this? Who could have done this?
Soap slowly approached the CDC facility door, its cracked glass and moss that decorated the door and its surroundings. Whoever worked here did not keep up the building maintenance, but why would you when it blended in so well with its surrounding area?
He knocked on the door. “Hello?” Soap called out, “Special Forces!”
No one answered.
He knocked again, but there was still no answer, so he did the only other thing he could do in a facility like this. He opened the door, letting himself and the rest of the team through. They each held their guns up as they skulked about the empty lobby.
“Hello? Special Forces! Come out! We’re here to retrieve a package,” Price called out, but yet there was still no answer.
The building was completely trashed. Shattered glass, mold on the walls, and the most interesting of all, blood. Everywhere. There was still a stench, but it didn’t smell like death. It was a mix of must and ammonia once they entered further into the building.
“Someone’s been here recently,” Soap announces. He follows the scent of ammonia to a back door that seemed to be ajar, leading to the back of the building.
“How do you know?” asked Gaz.
“That ammonia smell…that’s piss. Human piss,” Soap informed him.
They continued scouring through the surrounding land, trying their best to ignore the foul smells that engulfed them, practically burning through their nose hairs.
Price raised his fist, bringing everyone to a halt. “Wait, you lads hear that?”
There was a faint rustling through the trees and the murder of crows flocking away that drew their attention. They pointed their guns towards the trees, their flashlights creating small orbs as they lit paths.
“I don’t see anything,” Gaz whispers, doing his best to keep his voice low, keeping anyone outside of the team from hearing him.
They each gathered in a circle, their backs turned to each other, keeping every angle under their surveillance.
Ghost put his weapon down after realizing there was nothing but the rustling of the trees. “It’s just the-,” he began, but a figure suddenly attacked him from above before he could finish.
In these situations, the team would be eager to shoot, but that would be a waste of a bullet when the attacker was so close. Ghost fought off the attacker, Price coming behind the person and grabbing them off of him.
“Don’t kill him! Could be the only way to find the CDC members!” Ghost yelled.
The hood of the perpetrator’s coat covered their face, making it nearly impossible to see who it was. The coat was large, made with fur gathered from the animals during the warmer seasons. It was getting cold out, the teams’ armor barely being enough to keep them warm.
Gaz and Soap kept their guns pointed towards the attacker while Ghost rose to his feet and Price kept the person restrained, finally knocking them onto their back and knocking the air from their lungs.
Price immediately got on top of the person, removing their hood and revealing a woman with blonde tipped hair and grown out brunette roots. The team’s face immediately lit up, Gaz and Soap lowering their weapons and letting out breaths of relief.
Price’s hand gently brushed the hair out of the woman’s face. “Charmaine?”
TWO YEARS AGO
You slowly moved to a squat position, keeping one hand on Diyoza’s neck and the other reaching for your sidearm. You silently wave down one of your members, motioning for him to keep pressure on Diyoza’s wound. Everyone had made it clear that they wanted Diyoza dead, but you couldn’t let that happen. You won’t let it happen. You take a look at everyone as the soldier places the pressure on Diyoza’s throat and you whisper to the team, “If I come back and she’s dead, I will kill every single one of you.”
You weren’t sure if the look they all gave you meant they were scared and believed you or that they were waiting to call your bluff. Either way, you were prepared for both options.
You creeped towards the front of the plane, your gun leading the way, your body tense and preparing for who you may find. The door to the cockpit was ajar, so you gently kicked it open with your foot and immediately pointed your gun to where a pilot should be.
“What the fuck?” you murmured. There was no one in the seat.
But there was someone behind the door.
You ducked as you saw a dark shadow go over your head. You heard the cockpit door slam shut, leaving you and the infiltrator in the small space to fight to the death. He was bigger than you and his face was unrecognizable. You had never seen this man before in your life, but what you did know is that he had to be here on Diyoza’s behalf. But how he got there you could not figure out.
Your team couldn’t hear you struggling over the turbulence and you refused to give up. He had the strength, but you had the intelligence, and you used it to your advantage.
You kneed the man in the balls as hard as you could once he was on top of you. He fell to the side, and you used it as an opportunity to hit him on the head with the barrel of your gun, knocking him unconscious.
You checked the coordinates on the dashboard, but you couldn’t recognize them either. The plane was on autopilot and low on fuel. If you turned off autopilot, you’d burn too much gas and the plane would spin out before you got to the coordinates’ destination.
“Damnit, Simon. Where are you when I need you?” you mumbled under your breath as you banged your hand on the dashboard. You placed your hands over your face and let out a scream loud enough for the team to hear over the ruckus of the plane.
One of your teammates barged into the cockpit, struggling to get through the door because of the unconscious man lying in front of it.
You sat in the pilot’s chair, staring outside of the window, watching as you flew over the open bodies of water that felt like they lasted forever.
“Are you alright?” the soldier, Bravo 4-8, asked. Of all the men in your squadron, you were the closest to him. He understood you. You understood each other. He knew the impact you wanted to make on the world. Like you, he grew up in a house full of women. It was noticeable from the first day you met with him. The respect he gave you like you were an equal and not just a woman trying to prove a point.
When you made a mistake, he didn’t ridicule you, but guided you. There were rumors that you two had slept together, but you both knew it wasn’t true. The rumors made you laugh, considering he wasn’t even attracted to women. You both gossiped about who in each squadron you considered attractive. Whenever there was a new commanding officer or someone substituting to train you, you’d both get in trouble for failing to contain your laughter when you snuck glances at each other after getting a good look at who was training you.
Most of the time, neither of you ever made a move. You were the first when you caught the Lieutenant’s eyes. Bravo 4-8 swore you were done when you were being reprimanded by the jarring lieutenant and instead of staring at him with the serious face that all soldiers and recruits give, you smiled instead. “Yes, sir,” you said, looking up at him with your big, soft brown eyes and full, soft lips.
No one had ever seen the Lieutenant so stuck before, hesitating to send you on your merry way. “Go-get back to work-,” he started before looking across your chest for your name tag. “Abara,” he finished. You weren’t actually being reprimanded for doing anything seriously wrong. The Lieutenant wanted not only an excuse to speak to you, but also to get your head back in the game. You were two laps ahead of the rest of the cohort and you had stopped to chat with your friend, and the Lieutenant wanted to make sure you stayed ahead of everyone else.
“Yes, s-,” you started.
“Just go,” he interrupted. “Don’t call me that.”
“Then, what am I supposed to call you?” you asked him. He couldn’t help to notice the cute tilt in your head, swaying of your arms that was actually a fidget that he came to notice later on.
“Anything but that. And keep still,” he responded.
“Yes, s-,” you began before catching yourself. He could practically see the wheels turning in your head as you thought of another name to call him. “Yes, Lieutenant…” you started, now glazing over his chest as you were now searching for his name tag. “Yes, Lieutenant Riley.” Everybody called the Lieutenant “sir”, but what he didn’t want you to know is that when it came out of your mouth, it did something to him.
You ran back to Bravo 4-8 for a few seconds before passing him, trying your best to contain your giggling, but he knew you couldn’t keep it up for long.
And now he was here with you, trying to figure out what the hell happened and why there was a random man in the cockpit. And oddly enough, he was the only one that could fly the plane.
“I’m fine,” you tell him, quickly rising up and moving past him. You reached for the unconscious man’s foot and‌ pulled him out of the way, making room for you to open the cockpit door and pull him through with Bravo 4-8 holding the door open for you.
“What the hell?” you hear some soldiers mumble.
You drag the man to the middle of the plane, all eyes now facing you both, mainly focused on the random man that was starting to wake up.
“Anyone know who this is?” you ask your members.
They each shook their head and you could tell they were all sincere. They were just as confused as you were. Until Diyoza woke up, you couldn’t ask her questions and even if you could, the chances of her being able to speak so soon were slim.
“Who’s flying the plane?” you hear someone ask.
“No one. It’s on autopilot. We’re low on fuel. Coordinates are set to an unknown destination,” you replied.
“Have Bravo 4-8 fly it and change the coordinates,” another soldier said.
“Like I said, we’re low on fuel. Autopilot can conserve some of it. If we put the plane on manual, we’ll run out of fuel before we reach either destination and we’ll drown in the ocean. The most we can do is change the coordinates,” you explained.
Bravo 4-8 was behind you and hung his head down, his face filled with guilt.
“How do you know so much about planes?” someone asked you.
“Had a few lessons while in the military,” you said.
“Ahhh. Flying lessons with the 141 Lieutenant. Is that foreplay or aftercare?’ Bravo 3-8 joked.
Everyone laughed like it was the funniest joke ever told. Everyone but you and Bravo 4-8. He quickly ended their silence when he announced, “We can’t change the coordinates.”
“What? Why?” you quizzed as you snapped your head back.
“It’s code activated. I tried. It’s not the usual code I use. It’s been changed. I tried every code I know. None of them worked,” Bravo 4-8 replied. His voice didn’t quiver. He wasn’t afraid of you. He spoke to you like a worried friend. A worried friend that wasn’t sure how you all were going to make it out.
“So, what? We just wait until the plane lands itself?” a soldier inquired.
“This plane on autopilot doesn’t land itself,” you explained.
“Not only that, but there isn’t enough fuel for the plane to be landed,” Bravo 4-8 added.
“You have got to be kidding me,” you murmur.
You can see the panic on each of the soldiers’ faces, their laughter quickly coming to a halt. Your only hope now was the random man on the ground. You took a look at everyone and peered down at one soldier putting pressure on Diyoza’s wound. The bleeding seemed to have slowed down, but you didn’t want to risk anything in case you were wrong.
You took a pair of handcuffs and placed them on the man’s wrist, strapping him to the pole of the metal seat. You sat in front of him, your knees bent and spread as you rested your forearms on them with your gun in your hand, waiting for him to wake up. You didn’t know what you would do. Torture wasn’t your thing. You hated it. Knowing that you were in a relationship with someone who could inflict such pain like it was nothing, you weren’t sure.
It didn’t make you uneasy. It didn’t make you attracted to him any less. The only thing it did was make you wonder why it wasn't a deal breaker. Why were you okay with that side of him? And why didn’t it scare you?
Maybe it was because you knew it was part of the job. There would be times that such crimes would be committed, even if no one spoke about them. Only those in higher authorities could get away with it.
Ghost was part of that higher authority.
You called yourself a hypocrite because how could you go calling Diyoza a terrorist when your own boyfriend had committed some of the same crimes?
They were different. Right? He didn’t kill innocent people like Diyoza did. He didn’t go planting bombs. But he tortured people. He imprisoned people. Those were crimes against humanity.
That would make him a war criminal.
But what did he have to go through for him to get to that point? And it was then you realized that Diyoza and Ghost may not be so different after all. What did Diyoza endure to conclude that what she did was okay? What did she know that you didn’t? What did she see?
You felt safe with Diyoza. Even after all she had done. You felt safe with Ghost even after all he had done. It was obvious there were parts of you that enjoyed that savagery, and you wondered if there were parts of you that could do what they did.
Warnings: This chapter contains light sh if you’re not comfortable don’t interact
Part.10
•Masterlist•
Tumblr media
It’s been a few days since Daryl had left me to stay out god knows where with Merle, his brother who was an ass and always treated him like crap, he left and I had no more will to live, he was my anchor, I haven’t left the watch tower since I got up here I couldn’t find the effort to go down for anything
The door to the guard tower opened seeing it was Carl with Judith, coming and sitting next to me on the little makeshift bed
“Hey…..we miss you down there” he said smiling, he was such a sweet kid and ever since the incident with Lori he’s kind of clung to me but I didn’t hate it
“I’m fine here”
“Well I brought you some water and some cans of food” he said taking his back pack off and handing it over
“Thank you sweetie, sorry I’m not of any help right now, it’s hard to explain this feeling” I said as he placed little Judith in my arms
“It’s okay, I may not get it but I know what it’s like to lose someone you love, and I know how much you loved Daryl”
“I just miss him so much, I need him back” I said feeling my chest tighten trying to keep the tears at bay as I let Judith play around with my fingers
“If you’re soulmates you’ll meet again and from what I’ve seen you are just let him see what he’s missing and he’ll come running back for you” he smiled patting my shoulder
After some play time with Judith and a little chat with Carl he left having to change her and feed her, maybe Carl was right maybe I should go down for a bit it might clear my head, I left the guard tower making sure to cover all my cuts and saw Carol and the prisoner talking
“Hey y/n it’s good to see you” she said with that bright smile of hers
I just smiled and nodded still not feeling like my old self, the me that felt whole with Daryl, before the apocalypse I never was reliant on him like I am now but he’s still the man I love the man I’ve always loved, I can’t just bounce back to normal without the person I’ve had in my life since I was a kid
I wandered around the courtyard, picking up some stray garbage helping to clean up the place when there was a gun shot, I looked around frantic seeing Axel dead on the ground Carol hiding behind his body as more guns went off
I ran to go back to the watch tower hoping to get some cover but the distance was further than I thought and I didn’t know where the shots were coming from so I didn’t know if I was covered and that was quickly proven when that familiar feeling of stinging warmth flooded my body
I fell to the ground right as I got to the watch tower dragging myself inside somehow, slumping down on the stairs looking at the blood gushing down my chest and right arm, a bullet gone right into my shoulder, the blood oozing out quickly making me lightheaded fast from my low iron
I ripped off a piece of my shirt struggling to wrap it around my shoulder and tying it off tight to help the bleeding, I laid back against the stairs feeling weak, the sound of blood pumping in my head by body exhausted
The gun fire had ceased and I heard the others outside scared trying to figuring out everything that happened
I tried to kick the door open but it was no use, my vision was starting to blur and become spotty
Tumblr media
Daryl’s POV
“Where’s y/n?” I asked looking around not seeing her Carol or T.dog
“Last I saw she was trying to run back to the watch tower she’s been staying in” Carl said pointing over to the tower me and her always stayed in on our turns
“Damn” I grunted running across the court, Carl and Maggie right behind me as I yanked the door open, the sight making my heart stop
Tumblr media
Normal POV
Voices around me, faces blurred but the closer it got the more I knew it was Daryl as I was gently picked up
“D….Daryl” I spluttered out
“I’m here sunshine”
Then everything went black
Tumblr media
Daryl’s POV
I ran with her in my arms to the cell block laying her down next to Hershel as he yelled for the others to get his supplies
“Will she be okay?” I asked focusing on all the blood covering her, I should have never left why the hell did I leave
“We gotta stop the bleeding, with her being anemic she’s gonna have a harder time lasting with all this blood lose but I’ll do all I can” he said as he pressed down hard, after it stopped he pulled out the bullet stitched her up and sterilized it then bandaging her wound
“She’s bleeding on her leg too” he said noticed blood that had seeped through her jeans, I was hesitant but her health was more important so I pulled her jeans down enough for us to see what was causing the bleeding here and it finally broke me because this was my fault and I knew it, Hershel looked at me with worried eyes then went to clean them
I moved her to our bed on the perch and waited for her to wake up, hoping she woke up, I can’t believe this happened to her again in the span of a year, shot twice my sunshine the girl who’s stuck by me always making sure I was okay and now I’m the reason she hurt herself, the reason I wasn’t here to protect her
I gently peeled her out of her blood soaked clothes and put her in a spare shirt of mine and some looser jean shorts that covered her cuts, I found a clean rag and a bucket of water and cleaned off her face and any dirt that had accumulated on her body
I hope she come back to me soon
Tumblr media
Normal POV
My head was pounding and everything was so bright and hazy
“Fuck” I groaned trying to cover my eyes but shoot pain through my shoulder
“Hey yer awake” I heard from beside me, I tried to focus and his face came into view, it was Daryl
“Am I dead? Or did you come back” I asked running my hand on his scruffy face
“ ‘m back I shoulda never left” he said filled with guilt
“Why would you go Daryl, I’ve always been there………you promised”
Tumblr media
Part.12
Will y/n forgive Daryl or will she be scared he’ll hurt her again
Clips from Friends at the Table: Palisade. Contains spoilers up to Episode 52.
Song: Bury the Body and Tell No One by The Great Vorelli
CW: Discussion of mass murder, eating people.
Transcript below the cut
-PSD 29-
Austin (as Gucci): I thought we could move a few hearts. I thought we could change a couple minds. [small sigh] I thought we could spill some blood. I knew we could spill some blood. I thought we could get a few more years. Really, I thought we had a few more years and we’d pull them towards something else. Concessions. I thought elections somewhere. [Ali laughs quietly] I thought- // I didn't know we could cut their heads off. [chuckles] And now I don't know what tomorrow looks like. I'm a little afraid, Brnine.
Ali (as Brnine): [sighs] Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense. I'm in this until it’s finished.
Austin (as Gucci): Until it’s finished? [exhales]
Ali (as Brnine): Yeah.
Austin (as Gucci): Me too.
-PSD 04-
Sylvi: I think I’m just like, staring at // I’m picturing this thing face down, the cockpit. // There’s glass of the cockpit on, like, bloodstains and shit. // But so, we get her just like staring at that for a little while, and then... //
Sylvi (as Coriolis): Thisbe, can you take a picture of me?
Sylvi: Oh my god.
Sylvi: And then poses in front of the downed mech.
-PSD 23-
Austin: Scientists and soldiers who are not…who are just, like, the wounded and the people who are resting and stuff like that who are not able to fight //
Janine: I kind of would love to communicate with that group at the same time and be like, “If you just stop and chill out, we’re not gonna kill you. Just stop.” // I don't think we have an intention of killing a bunch of scientists.
Austin: Sure // They pause to hear you out, or at least some of them do. Uh, Cori, you could kill them all right now, no problem. [Janine laughs]
Austin: Actually thats-
Sylvia: I flipped a coin, and I'm killing them. [Keith laughs]
Austin: You're killing them! Fuck! [Ali laughs]
Janine [crosstalk]: Okay!
-PSD 47-
Austin: I think it’s “I’ll join Millennium Break if…”
Janine: “I can eat people.”
Austin: “…you let me—” Yeah, absorb…
Dre: Eat people, yeah.
Austin: Eat people. Yum, yum, yum. Which, you know, Brnine, you can just say no to. //
Ali: Yeah, I—yeah. I mean, I don’t know… do I reject this offer? I don’t know that I do that. [uncertain wavering] Eh, I don’t know… I mean, it seems fair enough, right?
-PSD 50-
Austin: They need that to stay alive, and to like, keep their glass from getting brittle. //
Keith: Fuck 'em //
Janine: So, this isn’t actually kidnapping, then, this is like mass murder on a slow scale. //
Keith: They’re—sorry, they’re—if I win, they’re dead.
Austin: I don’t know that it’s like a “they’re dead immediately” thing, but I do think…
Keith: No, I mean, I’m dooming them
-PSD 52-
Austin: Hoping that they—like at first, it starts with like, hey, I'll turn myself in if you give me access to the Unction goo I need to live. And then eventually some people just start turning themselves in. You know, someone has the idea that's like, well, they're not going to let me die in prison. If they are going to put me on trial, they'll give me the goo I need to live until trial at least. Now, will this, will Righteousness’ crew do that? I don't know, but I think that that just starts happening.
-PSD 55-
Austin: I've said this before, but like Palisade at its heart, was meant to be kind of a corny, hopeful season? The dice did not always play out that way
I think there's an argument to be made in favor of showing the reality of what Angel deals with on the day to day, both on the gear he wears and the SA he faces from Val.
but these kinds of scenes can very easily be exploitative; used for cheap shock value & end up fetishizing that abuse by presenting it as titillating. it's long happened to female characters where the violence becomes an excuse to show them brutalized or with their clothes ripped off and given how often Angel is sexualized it can just as easily happen to him.
Addict managed to communicate a whole history of sexual abuse committed by Valentino with just a forced kiss and a hard cut to Angel having a breakdown in his room. The scene focused on Angel's emotional distress rather than the act itself, so it avoided objectifying him further and was still effective
this is part of a wider pattern already established by Helluva Boss, where abuse is treated in the least sensitive, most sledgehammer blunt and cartoony way possible.
going by HB, abusers are:
always obvious and easy to spot,
they're complete monsters devoid of any life or interests of their own,
they have no inner lives whatsoever because they only exist to hurt the victim (Stella stays around the house despite not liking Stolas, Crimson wants to force Moxxie into a gay marriage despite being homophobic - to the guy who put his son in prison in the first place!!) - they're inconsistent and unknowable,
they abuse their victim openly in front of others everyone goes along with and tacitly approves of it (Stella's friends happily laugh at her jokes disparaging a demon prince who could kill them all despite knowing he's in earshot)
they cannot be easily stopped even when they have far less power, either in magic or social standing, than the person they're abusing (Stolas and Stella, again)
they hang around long past when they should despite the cast having ample reason to proactively do something to stop them (everyone leaves Crimson alive despite killing all his minions, Stolas knows Stella has ordered a hit on him but probably still lets Octavia spend weekends with her??)
they are fundamentally Bad People. None of the 'good' characters can every be called out for being abusive, what they do is funny - because they are fundamentally Good People. It doesn't matter how many traits Stolas and Stella have in common, he is Good and she is Bad. It also doesn't matter that Stolas sexually coerced someone for a season and a half, neglected his daughter and abused his servants, and barely feels bad about his own infidelity. He is Good so anything he does can be excused. Same with Loona - beating people is bad, but it's OK for her to give her dad a black eye and beat his head in with a picture frame, because she's one of the Good Guys. Same with Blitzo demeaning Moxxie constantly in the workplace - it's funny when he calls Moxxie fat, it's abuse when Mammon does it to Fizz
Abusers are fundamentally Other from Us, and we never need to examine our own behaviors as long as we know we are fundamentally Good.
like how is any of this making the world a better place? or advancing the understanding of abuse? it's an embarassingly dated and in places actively harmful depiction of what abuse is or isn't (I don't even want to get into the bad takes I've seen surrounding Stol/tz and what coercion is or isn't, but you can probably add that to the list too)
if the Angel scenes are as brutal as they sound then the rating should be an 18. I don't entirely blame Viv for that, I know sometimes ratings boards have a weird habit of treating works that have LGBT content as somehow 'more adult' than movies with straight up rape and SA scenes in them (though HH is both, so idk how literal bondage gear didn't up the rating), but I hope against hope there's some kind of trigger warning for this somewhere, and it isn't just dropped on the viewer's lap in order to shock them further with the world's bluntest and most graphic animated scene of SA it can
This. All of this, every word.
I found it. The worst Katara take.
https://www.tumblr.com/illycanary/748146862907867136/kataras-entire-arc-was-about-her-becoming-someone?source=share
Her entire arc was about becoming someone who could lead the Fire Nation!? The nation that GENOCIDED her people!?
Please… please I need to hear your take on this. It hurts my soul. Give me peace.
Zutarians: It's so disgusting how Kataang completely reduces Katara to just "The Avatar's girl."
Also zutarians: Katara's entire arc, trauma and struggles are not actually about herself, but about her Totally Real romance with Zuko and how she'll be great for his nation.
And she used to hate said nation because it was an elusive concept to project her insecurities onto. It was totally not because said nation had in place a socio-political AND military system that was hostile to her, her loved ones, and her culture by design.
It wasn't Zuko and the Fire Nation that had to understand that everyone else in the world was as human as they were, oh no. It was actually Katara and the rest of the world that had to understand that the Fire Nation ain't as bad as they thought - even though they WERE doing all the horrible things they thought they were doing, and ruining their lives by taking away everything and everyone they loved.
#UnhingedZutariansShutTheFuckUpChallenge
Also, can the fandom as a whole stop it with the bullshit "Characters like Jet and Hama existed to teach Katara and Sokka not to be racist against the Fire Nation"?
They were NEVER okay with killing, or even mistreating, someone just because they happened to be born in the Fire Nation or were under their control. Everyone they hated had done something to earn said hate: killed someone they loved, attacked their tribe, chased them around the world, held people prisoner and forced them into slave labor, etc.
You might think it was wrong of Katara and Sokka to do something like try to convince Aang to leave Zuko to die in the North Pole (and the show was very clearly saying that was the case) but you cannot act like that was based on some unearned hostility to anyone vaguely associated with a nation they "didn't understand" and not on, like Sokka said, not giving the guy that was trying to kill them a chance to try again and maybe succeed - hell, Katara gave Zuko a chance in Ba Sing Se, and look what fucking happened. Her best friend died right in front of her because Zuko jsut had to go help Azula take control of the city, and then he sent an assassin after them.
No one is fully good or evil - but people CHOOSE to do bad things, even if they have sympathetic reasons, and a political system CAN be inherently cruel, unfair and EVIL. And the Fire Nation under Sozin, Azulon and Ozai's rule very much was. And since Zuko went out of his way to keep that political system in place, he was doing something evil, and thus the people that were being victimized by him had every right to hate his guts for it.
Once again, let's hear it from Zuko himself:
"Growing up, we were taught that the Fire Nation was the greatest civilization in history. And somehow, the war was our way of sharing our greatness with the rest of the world. What an amazing lie that was. The people of the world are terrified by the Fire Nation. They don't see our greatness. They hate us! And we deserve it! We've created an era of fear in the world. And if we don't want the world to destroy itself, we need to replace it with an era of peace and kindness."
The Fire Nation screwed up. Zuko screwed up. They need to get their shit together (and Zuko did), and the responsibility to do so is on THEM, not on the people that are quite literally fighting for their lives because the Fire Nation gave them no choice.
It's not Katara's job to make Zuko, and an entire country, see reason. And her arc was about HER journey, HER struggles, HER accomplishments, HER life, HER culture, and HER loved ones - just because Zuko would eventually be part of the last category, that doesn't mean that it secretly all about him the whole time.
And Zuko knows all this. That's why his arc, and his friendship with Katara, works. The show already gave you the perfect scenario to turn that friendship into a romance in fanfics and headcanons, you don't need to pretend the Fire Nation wasn't the obvious bad guy in the war THEY chose to start.
You can respect the beautiful arcs both Katara and Zuko went through, or you can make excuses for the Fire Nation's choice to commit genocide by saying "Well, EVERYONE had something to learn from it." You cannot possibly do both, because their arcs are all about showing this "both sides" thing is NOT TRUE.
what r your thoughts on forkle /gen
as a writer i think hes a very well written morally grey character, as a reader i hate his freaking guts here is the list i literally keep in my notes of why i hate him.
he broke into her room who knows how many times when she was a little girl (idc if he had REASONS its FREAKING WEIRD)
he asked Sophie to meet him (a grown man) on a island alone and when she took Keefe with her he told her she had to come in the cave with him alone
he just about left Dex for dead in the Neverseen hideout and only brought him because Sophie refused to go without him. Dex was a innocent child. Dex wasn’t just anyones child he was a member of the collectives child someone who he worked with side by side for years, and he was still willing to leave him behind (he later said he was going to back for him but like...)
Dex ended up with scars because he didn’t bring enough elixirs for him.
he thinks of Sophie as an accomplishment and doesn’t expect her to want him to think of her as anything more (Everblaze, Page 447.)
he calls her his moonlark. which sounds sweet until you realize that’s her project code name he’s literally calling her “my creation” aka “my weapon”
he will act very cryptic and only give out bits of information, just enough that she will look into what he was talking about then act proud and flatter her, saying things like “i underestimated you kids” when she and her friends figure out the thing he wanted her to know.
he will tell her about problems in the world making it sound horrible and hopeless, then saying "this is the thing we made you to fix, but that’s your choice"
he’s constantly switching from dehumanizing her because she is the Moonlark and it’s her job to change things and this is what she was created for. then treating like his child at the drop of a hat
excludes her parents from the conversations and tells her she has control over her life, not them, like she isn’t a young teen
he told a fourteen year old that if he and the rest of collective died Sophie and her friends would take their place, not care about what kind of pressure that would put on her. then admits to grooming Sophie and her friends to lead the Black Swan one day
he is constantly reading her mind and never lets her have her thoughts to herself but expects her to not read other peoples minds.
he put all this importance on Prentice and told a child that they where going to use her to brake into prison and almost got another child killed who didn't even need to be there (they could have done that without her they have dwarves)
finds it funny to exclude Sandor from conversations that could potentially put her in danger
had Sophie recruit other children, which is disturbing, because fine they don’t have a choice if she’s in danger but putting other children in danger and taking on missions is completely unnecessary, he could have done it himself or had adults do it.
Ignored tam being taken by the neverseen, and told them to focus on other things
Not to mention he basically took advantage of Emma Foster's health issues, knowing full well he'd be taking her child away from her and her husband at a later date. Sophie's human parents were done so dirty, and all they wanted to do was let her be a kid for as long as possible
Yan!Police Officer!Elijah HC’s
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Someone asked for more Police!Elijah so I hope they enjoy this🩷
I changed this Headcanon so it was Y/n and not Katherine like it is in the Doctor!Klaus fics this comes from
DD:DNE
A Failed Escape
Tumblr media
•Elijah first decided to become a police officer when he watched the cops taking his father away when he was 16 for abusing a 14 year old Klaus. When they saw the state of his brother they weren’t at all careful with Mikael, jostling and tripping him, even slamming his face onto the car when they put him in, he wanted to live his life doing a job where he could beat the shit out of awful people too
•With his grades it wasn’t hard to make that dream come true and before he knew it he was one of the top officers in NOLA PD, and having a doctor for a brother seemed to work out for him just as much as it did for Klaus, especially once he found Y/n
•She was the most perfect little thing he had ever seen, sweet and quiet, always ending up coming in with her wrists in cuffs because of her idiot boyfriend and his friends. Elijah knew he needed to protect Y/n from this boy and his idiot friends, and even herself if this is the kind of choice she’s going to make in men
•Y/n would often talk to Elijah when she was brought in, he was always so sweet and patient with her that she couldn’t help it, no one else cared about her, especially in here where these cops just thought she was a worthless gutter rat with no future…Elijah was different though.
He made sure of it.
•He always took over her booking and since it was always something stupid that they got brought in for he ensured it was easy for her to get out, he would never allow his precious Bunny sleep in a prison cell!
‘Go home Y/n and Stop coming back here! You need to stay away from these idiots! That boy in there doesn’t care about you and if he did he wouldn’t be dragging you down into the hole with him, don’t you try and tell me I’m wrong!’
‘I can’t, I…I just…what else am I supposed to do? He’s all I have, I was always gonna end up in prison, it’s where almost my entire family is-‘
‘So do something different! You are worth so much more than this-‘ she cut him off angrily and though he was overcome with the urge to yank her over his lap and spank her ass raw, he suppressed it as hard as he could.
‘You Don’t Know That Officer Mikaelson! My Family Was Trash And So Am I, Nothing Will Change That!’ Tears had started to make their way down Y/n’s face and if there’s one thing Elijah knows it’s that he should be the Only One who Ever makes his girl she’d a tear.
‘Elijah.’ He stated and she looked up, confused, which gave him the chance to reach out and wipe her tears from under her eyes and off her soft cheeks. It was the first real time he had been able to touch her besides removing handcuffs and he noted her blush instantly. Elijah knew that Y/n had a bit of a crush on him but what she didn’t know is that he was desperately in love with her as well and he would not be letting her go. ‘My name is Elijah, you can just call me that. Now Y/n, I know you’re not a bad girl, so I’d like to help you.’ The blush on her face darkened by 3 shades as he said this to her. ‘Do you have anywhere to go that’s not his house?’ She shook her head. ‘Okay, well you’re not safe there so we need to get you out-‘
‘He would never hurt me Off-uh, Elijah? He won’t hit me or anything-‘
‘No but he will tempt you into doing the wrong thing, we need to ensure you’re away from the bad influence. I’m just about to get off, I’ll take you home and you can pack all of your things while he’s in holding overnight.’ Y/n looked at him confused.
‘Aren’t I supposed to be in holding over night?’ She wondered but instantly knew that Elijah had somehow gotten her out of it again. ‘I don’t have anywhere to take my stuff, I can’t just-‘
‘You let me worry about that. Just do as I tell you for now, hmm? Have I ever let you down?’ She shook her head immediately. ‘That’s right, so just calm yourself and do as I say.’
•That night Y/n was moved into Elijah’s home. It was a medium sized, modest cottage on 30 acres he had away from any other people. He enjoyed his privacy and the ability to make as much noise as he wants without complaint, plus as a cop, who is going to trespass on his property? No one knows where his house is besides his siblings.
•Once Y/n was in Elijah’s house there was no escape for her, not that she noticed right away, or even for quite some time. He had taken her with him while her boyfriend was in a jail cell and she left him a break up note, her family was all in prison themselves so there was no one to worry and Elijah could easily keep her indoors while he went to work, not that she could find her way to civilization anyway. He kept her busy as she now cleaned the house and cooked the meals so that she wouldn’t be “useless” and just like that the eldest Mikaelson had already won.
•It was almost 2 weeks before Y/n tried to leave for the first time and Elijah refused, taking her over his knee and spanking her ass nearly bloody when she argued with him. She clung to him when she was finished her punishment as he knew she would, she had no one else. Elijah had planned this all too well she realized, and no matter what she did escape wasn’t an option
•2 months. That’s how long it took for her to finally give in and accept her life, and Elijah couldn’t be happier. The final straw, oddly enough, had been his younger brother Klaus
•Elijah had invited Klaus over, wanting him to give Y/n a check up and make sure she was healthy. She had no insurance and he would never risk taking her to a doctor he couldn’t trust, his brother knew about Y/n and would never dream of ratting his big brother out
•Y/n had tried to beg Klaus for help while Elijah was in the kitchen getting him a drink
‘Please? You have to get me out of here?! You’re a doctor, right?! Don’t you have like, an obligation to help your patients or something?’ She pleaded but he just continued checking her over.
‘Of course I do, but legally you are not my patient. Besides, my brother is quite taken with you.’ The realization came over Y/n’s face as he said that and Klaus chuckled.
‘I’m never getting out of this house, am I?’ His brows went up and he shrugged.
‘I would say not any time soon. I’m sure he’ll take you out someday when he knows you’re obedient and dependent on him. That’s a long way away though with how you’ve been acting. Though I’m sure you’ll be happy to know I’ve brought a salve to put on that blistered bottom for you.’
Elijah came back a moment later and as the brothers spoke Y/n laid her head onto Elijah’s shoulder, too mentally exhausted to do anything else.
~~
•Elijah is not the type to go without fucking his girl, even while she’s trying to escape him. Once he had gotten a taste of her in those first 2 weeks he was never letting her go
•He fucked her constantly, over whatever surface pleased him that day or moment, and while she tried to fight it was too good for her to not enjoy every second of
•The day she had gotten checked out by his brother was the only time in their entire relationship that Elijah shared her with anyone. Elijah agreed to let Klaus fuck her that day with the promise that on the day Klaus found his own girl he would get to use her as well. Y/n noticed that Klaus dismissed this, not believing he would ever find the kind of interest that Elijah has with her.
(It took 2 years but Klaus was proven wrong)
•Elijah had automatic locking doors that he could control with his phone or keys but no matter what Y/n did she couldn’t go farther than the sun room, unable to get out any door or window when he wasn’t there, him getting an alert whenever she tried her luck
•He still worked but he worked less now that he had someone to come home to, enjoying being with his girl every minute that he could
•Only a few days after Y/n had finally given in and given herself over to Elijah willingly for the first time in 2 months, her ex showed up at the station asking for help. Elijah found himself amused as the idiot boy told his friend about his ‘missing girlfriend’ and how he hadn’t seen her in 2 months. The officer practically laughed him out of the station when he explained how she had dumped him while he was locked up and never come back, he insisted she would have let him know she was okay by now but they all rolled their eyes at him, Elijah happily watching the last person that would ever look for you walk out of the station
•Later that night Elijah went out to dinner with his brother, coincidentally running into said idiot boyfriend on the way home, drunk and happy to talk to people who ‘believed him’…
His body is still buried just a few acres away from the house Elijah shares with his Little Bunny.
