I can't stop thinking about the fact that The Jailer was confirmed to be a Dark Mage.
It makes the Archdragons even more hypocritical than they already are. They massacred thousands of innocent humans and forced them from their home because of said practice, yet when it suits them, they form an alliance with one to get what they want?
It would be different if after the alliance, the Archdragons saw the use of dark magic from a different perspective and came to understand the human's point of view for using it.
But they didn't. They allied with a dark mage and still condemned humans for using dark magic as a way of survival.
The Archdragons are genuinely the biggest hypocrites in the show.

TDP Fandom, what are your top 5 favourite episodes?
Here are my personal favourites:
5th Place - Inversion
While season 7 was very hit or miss, I believe this episode was just a solid episode all around. It was not completely devoid of problems as there were certain parts of the episode I was not a fan of, but for the most part, the episode was exciting, thrilling and full of heart. Plus, it was really cool to see Ziard again, even if he was criminally underutilized.
4th Place - Breathe
The finale of season 2 had it all - interesting character dynamics, unexpected decisions and some of the coolest scenes in the show.
First of all, Callum having learned the Sky Arcanum was an exciting moment for the viewer. The buildup throughout the season with his struggles added an extra layer of fulfillment when he managed to achieve his goal. Even though he had been told it was impossible by pretty much everyone, he pushed through and achieved what he set out to do.
Secondly, there was the Claudia and Soren storyline. Claudia sacrificing the deer to heal Soren was shocking but added moral complexity that I really enjoyed. It asks the viewer if in her situation, would we do the same? Would we sacrifice an animal to save a loved one?
Lastly, the episode had one of the coolest scenes in the entire show.
Need I say more? Watching Aaravos use his abilities (which sadly he did not get to do for the most part in the show) through Viren was extremely cool and the ost was fire. A true highlight for me.
3rd Place - The Final Battle
Hot of the heels of 4th place, we have yet another finale episode. What can I say? The Dragon Prince just slays when it comes to season finale episodes (most of the time). This episode was just an epic all around and genuinely felt like it could have been a good conclusion to the show if it didn't continue. The whole of arc 1 was just that tight knit and I feel that it all came together perfectly in this amazing and interesting, fast paced episode.
2nd Place - We All Fall Down
Honestly, this episode had everything. Intense emotional weight, excitement, action, and phenomenal writing. Viren's sacrifice pulled at the heart strings and the attack on Katolis was beyond intense and really pulls the viewer in as the destruction becomes more and more extreme.
However, my favourite part of the episode is absolutely the Aaravos and Sol Regem part.
The writing of this section is impeccable because on the first watch, we as the viewer can gather that these two have beef, but don't pay too much attention to it and instead just enjoy the really intense scene which we had just witnessed.
Then Aaravos' backstory is revealed the next episode and this scene's meaning takes a completely different turn. You can tell that Sol Regem knows why Aaravos is there. You can really feel the hate in Aaravos' voice and why he really despises this particular Archdragon. Plus, how they very cleverly used this line:
The exact same line that was used in Leola's trial is now used against Sol Regem - the man responsible of dobbing in his daughter and therefore, having her executed.
It also heavily implies that Sol Regem must have somehow been watching the trial even though we did not see him doing so. Because this statement was meant to mirror that of the trial.
Its a phenomenal scene and I wish I could wipe my memory of this episode so I could enjoy its excellency again and again.
1st Place - Stardust
Yeah I think this one was kinda obvious but the final 2 episodes of season 6 just go hand and hand with each other and I love them both so much.
This is the episode we are introduced to Leola and Aaravos' whole motivation for doing what he does. The whole story is completely heart wrenching and my only real criticism is that I wish we got to see more of the bond between Aaravos and Leola, because he was an amazing dad and the pair of them were obviously very close.
It also shows how trauma can really change a person. Aaravos was quiet, reserved and gentle. He cared about others profusely and wanted to help whenever he could. When the little girl was yelling "help", without even knowing at that point she was calling about Leola, he rushed to the panicked girl to make sure she was okay. Plus, we see how protective he is over Leola in the trial, even going as far as to be willing to trade his own life so Leola could live.
I was compelled the entire time and have never been so emotionally invested in a piece of media. It affected me that much. It was tragic but so well done. I just wish we got a little more of Leola. She deserved so much better.
That isn't to say that the Rayla part of the episode wasn't good because it was still well done. Her struggle with whether or not she was to save her parents or just Runaan was intriguing and came to a satisfying conclusion.
So that's my top 5 favourite episodes. What are yours?

What do you mean?馃槺 Focusing on Aaravos' trauma means nothing in comparison to Rayllum face sucking馃槝 I love not dealing with character emotions and plot in favour of shipping 馃ス
personally i think acknowledging how fucking messed up it is to be buried in the corpse of your young daughter would be important in a season that is supposed to be about aaravos but ig seeing Rayllum lock lips every 5 seconds was more important
#rayllum#anti rayllum#imagine how much better arc 2 and season 7 could have been if they had focused on more than just shipping#a lack of red herrings and focused emotions and lore?#instead we got faffing around leading to nothing#im still salty

Just a not so little rant I need to go on. So, am I seriously the only person bugged by the new Dragon King series being an adult animation?? A "bodice-ripper" according to the new voice actor??? Are we forgetting that The Dragon Prince is a children's animation? Sure it's handled dark subject matter in the past, but that doesn't make it adult. It just makes it mature. Believe it or not, children can consume mature media, too. I would have no problem with this if it was something separate. But it's not. It's a DIRECT continuation of a children's show. Kids still watch the dragon prince, the end of season 7 is a HUGE cliffhanger. Are kids supposed to just sit and wait a few years until they can watch the next part? No. They won't. They're kids. They'll get curious and find a way to check it out for themselves. If they're anything like me, they'll start reading wikipedia pages. This is INCREDIBLY irresponsible and unprofessional thinking from the team behind the new series. This is directly exposing a mostly child audience to sexual (As implied in "bodice-ripper") and adult themes. This is disgusting. The creators KNOW their audience. There is no excuse for this and it honestly baffles me how they obviously haven't thought it through. And of course this is even if crowdfunding manages to revive this franchise, which I heavily doubt. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this series so much. It is very dear to my heart. But I personally won't be giving the kickstarter my money for this reason, and I hope I can bring some attention to this and help people make an informed decision about where their money is going. This WILL harm children. There is literally no doubt about that.

Oh yeah, and there's also this:
So Aaravos becoming a baby would be a complete retcon.
So I'm seeing some theories going around that Aaravos will be reincarnated into a baby due to the teaser and, this is just my opinion, but not only do I not see it happening, I just don't think it makes any sense.
In Aaravos' own words, both he and Leola were born in the heavens. Plus, he knew exactly when his stars would align. I really don't think that means he's going to pop out on earth in 7 years and 19 days.
Plus, rebirth doesn't make sense from a character perspective. It would completely reset his character in a nonsensical way. In the last arc, we learnt his entire motivation for who he is and what he stands for - that he does what he does because of the death of Leola and the trauma it left behind.
Aaravos being reborn into a child means he would forget all of that. Leola? Gone. His motivation? Gone. Memories? Gone.
His entire character would be a clean slate and an entirely different person.
The character they spent so long building is suddenly someone we don't know again.
I hope they do not go this route. It would be horrible writing in my opinion.
But that's just my opinion, what do you guys think?
