A little story about a kid who dreamt of becoming an artist 🥹
Only a few days left to grab the artbook before the campaign ends here: The Art of Kelogsloops
I still remember the day I sat down with mum and told her I wanted to pursue art. “Don’t do it” she said. I think many people know the feeling of having their dreams shut down — it sucks. I even remember the fear of taking those first steps towards chasing this dream: it was scary, tiring and filled with uncertainty. But in the past few months spent writing this book, going back and reflecting on this journey has made me realise how far I’ve come and how it all started. I really am grateful that I get to do this each day and every day, so I truly owe a heartfelt thank you to everyone (except Mrs. T)
Wherever you are right now, whatever it is you’re doing or want to do, keep going! #brbchasingdreams
When I teach watercolor classes, I think it’s important for people to try out products that are more budget friendly if they are new to watercolors.
That being said, you can’t compare the best of the best (Schminke, Daniel Smith, etc.) with other brands, but for starters, it can be daunting and scary to spend all sorts of hard earned money on a few tubes of watercolors.
This watercolor set is a great value for what you get and is perfect for beginners. This is the set that I share with my students so they have a decent start with watercolors with an array of shades that will help their imagination and creativity thrive.
If you’re in the market for a kit, definitely give these a try:
Another doodle of the most handsome man on the valley beach - it's not until posting I realized I left out the Lil version of his profile showing his bun (' ̄∇ ̄)ノ

While I see improvement almost daily with how much I've been practicing, it hurts to see my art and feel inadequate. I want to start comics, little strips of Geneva (and Elliott) living the best life in the Valley. But I worry this will never live up to the dreams I have.
"Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently."
I've also typed Elliott so many times my brain can't comprehend the letters anymore. 😅
Hey Sergle, how does one learn how to draw? Like, I am in my 20s, can barely draw a stick figure, and feel overwhelmed whenever I try to look up tutorials. Do you have any advice on how to start?
my Unprofessional advice on how to start in earnest, is to do it the way little kids do when they start learning to draw! which is to not approach it as learning at all. sitting down and scribbling out whatever comes to mind, reading a book or watching a movie and trying to copy the way the characters are drawn. draw a page full of cats. do it while you watch tv. doing all that w/o the Grown Up impulse to be embarrassed that you're new at a skill.
Do you do a lot of fashion sketches or have other projects in your sights? Seeing your posts inspires me to get back to the sewing machine 😭 its been a mixture!
Ive been getting back into drawing for costume/fashion design and trying to find my style, im much better at sketching to make, not so much making it look pretty and detailed!!
Here are my most recent watercolor/pencil designs:
