I remember a few years back when people would call all versions of Raphael (particularly 2012 and 2003) “toxic” and “abusive.” And then they would say that the only “wholesome” iterations of Raph were 1987 and Rise. 

This is really funny to me because I always knew these were fans who have never watched the 1987 version. 1987 Raph is the only version of Raph who is racist and sexist. And while I love that guy, he is by far the most “problematic” version of Raphael.

Only TMNT fans will pretend an 80s cartoon is progressive so they can dunk on versions of TMNT they don’t like.
