I wish we had more female characters like Eleanor Shellstrop. One of the most unlikable people you've ever met. Read a Buzzfeed article on most rude things you can do on a daily basis and decided to use that as a list of goals. Makes everyone's day worse just by being there. Dropped a margarita mix on the ground and tried to pick it up, only to get hit by a row of shopping carts which pushed her into the road where she was hit by a boner pill delivery truck, killing her instantly. Cannot keep a romantic partner despite being bisexual. Had a terrible childhood but will die before she gets therapy. Best employee at a scam company. Just the worst but also can't help but root for her to improve.

Absolute loser. Girl-failure. Bad at almost everything. Literally perfect female character.

Louis was mourning his brother, he felt like an utter failure and so he’s always seeking family, seeking people he can care for, he can coddle, he can prove he is good too, but he loves people who either cannot stand coddeling and need a sense of looseness to live (Lestat) or people who grow out of coddling who prove to Louis he will always fail the people he loves (Claudia), Claudias turning, in many MANY ways mirrors lestats in that it was against her will, she was stolen from her home, and in her immortality she desires freedom but unlike Lestat does not have the agency/ form to get it, she will always be small, she will always be looked down on, even by Lestat who cannot deny how much she is just like him *taps mic* ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME!! Learning that fans hated Applejack and called her "boring" is crazyyy to me because I genuinely, unironically believe AJ's the most complex character in the main six.

Backstory-wise, she was born into a family of famers/blue collar workers who helped found the town she lives in. She grew up a habitual liar until she had the bad habit traumatized outta her. She lost both her parents and was orphaned at a young age, having to step up as her baby sister's mother figure. She's the only person in the main gang who's experienced this level of loss and grief (A Royal Problem reveals that AJ dreams about memories of being held by her parents as a baby). She moved to Manhattan to live with her wealthy family members, only to realize she'll never fit in or be accepted, even amongst her own family. The earlier seasons imply she and her family had money problems too (In The Ticket Master, AJ wants to go to the gala to earn money to buy new farm equipment and afford hip surgery for her grandma).

Personality-wise, she's a total people-pleaser/steamroller (with an occasional savior complex) who places her self worth on her independence and usefulness for other people, causing her to become a complete workaholic. In Applebuck Season, AJ stops taking care of herself because of her obsessive responsibilities for others and becomes completely dysfunctional. In Apple Family Reunion, AJ has a tearful breakdown because in she thinks she dishonored her family and tarnished her reputation as a potential leader –– an expectation and anxiety that's directly tied to her deceased parents, as shown in the episode's ending scene. In The Last Roundup, AJ abandons her family and friends out of shame because believes she failed them by not earning 1st place in a rodeo competition. She completely spirals emotionally when she isn't able to fulfill her duties toward others. Her need to be the best manifests in intense pride and competitiveness when others challenge her. And when her pride's broken, she cowers and physically hides herself.

Moreover, it's strongly implied that AJ has a deep-seated anger. The comics explore her ranting outbursts more. EQG also obviously has AJ yelling at and insulting Rarity in a jealous fit just to hurt her feelings (with a line that I could write a whole dissection on). And I'm certain I read in a post somewhere that in a Gameloft event, AJ's negative traits are listed as anger.

Subtextually, a lot of these flaws and anxieties can be (retroactively) linked to her parents' death, forcing her to grow up too quickly to become the adult/caregiver of the family (especially after her big brother becomes semiverbal). Notice how throughout the series, she's constantly acting as the "mom friend" of the group (despite everything, she manages to be the most emotionally mature of the bunch). Notice how AJ'll switch to a quieter, calmer tone when her friends are panicking and use soothing prompts and questions to talk them through their emotions/problems; something she'd definitely pick up while raising a child. Same with her stoicism and reluctance at crying or releasing emotions (something Pinkie explicitly points out). She also had a childhood relationship with Rara (which, if you were to give a queer reading, could easy be interpreted as her first 'aha' crush), who eventually left her life. (Interestingly enough, AJ also has an angry outburst with Rara for the same exact reasons as with EQG Rarity; jealous, upset that someone else is using and changing her). It's not hard to imagine an AJ with separation anxiety stemming from her mother and childhood friend/crush leaving. I'm also not above reading into AJ's relationship with her little sister (Y'all ever think about how AB never got to know her parents, even though she shares her father's colors and her mother's curly hair?).

AJ's stubbornness is a symptom of growing up too quickly as well. Who else to play with your baby sister when your brother goes nonverbal (not to discount Big Mac's role in raising AB)? Who else to wake up in the middle of the night to care for your crying baby sister when your grandma needs her rest? When you need to be 100% all the time for your family, you tend to become hard-stuck with a sense of moral superiority. You know what's best because you have to be your best because if you're aren't your best, then everything'll inevitably fall apart and it'll be your fault. And if you don't know what's best –– if you've been wrong the whole time –– that means you haven't been your best, which means you've failed the people who rely on you, which means you can't fulfill your role in the family/society, which makes you worthless . We've seen time and time again how this compulsive need to be right for the sake of others becomes self-destructive (Apple Family Reunion, Sound of Silence, all competitions against RD). We've seen in The Last Roundup how, when no longer at her best, AJ would rather remove herself from her community than confront them because she no longer feels of use to them.

But I guess it is kinda weird that AJ has "masculine" traits and isn't interested in men at all. It's totally justified that an aggressively straight, misogynistic male fandom would characterize her as a "boring background character." /s

"welcome home, mr. calvin klein," you tease lightly, pulling mingyu in for a tight hug as you breathe in his fading cologne. he chuckles lowly, chest firm as your head lies upon it. "was the shoot a success?"

"yeah, it was. the stylists kept complimenting me, too. i wish you would've been there─you would've been so jealous." mingyu has a devious look on his face, eyeing you down to gauge your reaction. used to stunts like this, you just smile, shaking your head as you run your hands over mingyu's bulging muscles.

"you really do look so good. the pictures you sent me a few hours ago have been stuck in my head." you let him lean down for a kiss, lips hot and soft against yours as he sighs against you, pulling away.

"i thought you'd like them. plus, i just wanted to show off for you. remind you that i'm yours, you know?" mingyu looks down at you with wide, innocent brown eyes, and your heart turns cartwheels in your chest, bringing a smile to your face.

"and what a great reminder it was, gyu," you sigh dreamily, and mingyu giggles, smile warm as he places his keys on the counter, stripping himself of his shoes and hat.

evenings like these were the best─seeing mingyu coming home from photoshoots was one of your favorite things to witness. being able to greet him at the door with a hug and kiss while telling him how well he did brought a smile and butterflies to your stomach every.

you followed mingyu to your shared bedroom without a second thought, hand encased in his bigger one as he threw his duffel bag to the floor.

"come here, babe. i missed you." mingyu powers off his phone, holding his arms open as you melt into his embrace. he rocks you slowly, pulling you away from him as he glances down at your lips.

"can i, babe?" mingyu asks, wetting his lips as he glances back up at you. he looks so soft like this, pliant and ready to kiss you and love you until you've had enough.

"please do, gyu." you sigh, and mingyu can't but grin, leaning in slowly as he closes his eyes. his warm lips meet yours in a quick swoop, and you're melting into him, rendered useless by his work. mingyu's so professional in the way he kisses you, knowing all the right ways to kiss you to get a reaction out of you.

once he pulls away, you're a sighing mess, body warm and face even warmer as mingyu tucks hair away from your burning face. he's feeling whatever you're feeling too, eyes blown wide and hands warm on your skin as he cups your cheeks gently.

sighing dreamily, you shake your head, letting mingyu's hands roam wherever they want as you make eye contact with him. his eyes are filled with so much longing and desperation, that it makes you want to do whatever he wants you to do, whenever he wants to do it.

"damn you and that calvin klein photoshoot, gyu." you laugh aloud, voice soft as mingyu kisses your neck softly, leaving warm marks along your skin. he chuckles, obviously amused by your weak insult.

"you're too cute. i love you." mingyu smiles, and you shake your head, kissing him once more as you reply. "not as much as i do, you big goofball."

As a college student I cannot STAND the hate female professors get. You’ll meet a professor that everyone has been saying is too strict, stuck-up, and bad at her job and it’s like oh… she’s just an intelligent woman who doesn’t let you do fuck all in her classes because she values the education you are paying thousands of dollars to receive.

Meanwhile male professors always receive so much praise for doing the bare minimum at their jobs. A man has to be just slightly charismatic and everyone forgets that he kind of sucks at what he does

There’s not enough people talking about how important Stephanie is to Damian’s growth pre-Flashpoint.

Bruce had seen Damian as a beast to be tamed, Tim sees him as a ticking time bomb, and Dick is far better with him but he’s still an authority figure for Damian to combat with. But then he meets Stephanie, a college-aged girl who nobody trusts and he bullies her relentlessly and becomes inseparable from her.

She doesn’t interact with him based on his past, but on what she can see. This 10 year old just threatened to kill her? Wow he doesn’t get outside much. He’s not old enough to have seen Gremlins. What do you MEAN you’ve never been inside a bouncy house before we are fixing that immediately.

They are like cousins to each other. They poke fun at each other for being lame and stupid and Dick has to tell them both to shut up. She doesn’t see him as a project to be molded and redeemed, he’s just a kid with a crappy childhood like her and if he’s nice to her for 5 seconds she’ll do something with him to let him feel like a kid. And he doesn’t look at her and see a liability or a failure or a lost cause, like everyone she’s ever interacted with does. When he’s awful to her, it’s because he’s an obnoxious preteen boy.

And then you get the “there’s room in our line of work for hope, too” scene. Because Damian has gotten to know Steph and he can’t fathom why she’s here. She obviously has had to deal with crap and is still working through being kept on a leash by Nightwing and Oracle, but she isn’t broken like the rest of them are. Damian is surrounded by people who were molded and shaped and torn down and broken to become the monoliths that they are, and then there’s this girl who seems so at peace with herself and is constantly making quips, and it’s so foreign to him.

And she tells him that she’s in his world because she believes people are worth fighting for.
