So I decided to make my last post a little more clear

We're going to put the shippings more in depth.

First off, keepsakes

I dont take the keepsakes very seriously due to the fact that's all they are. They were gifted. Nothing fancy just things that are carried along throughout the series. Though Misty's keepsakes were carried throughout plenty more seasons than Ash and May's ribbon. The ribbon was nothing more than a good luck charm to remind May of how much she learned, same as Ash's lure from Misty was a good luck charm for him 🤭

Posters/Advertisements

Whether these were hints towards shippings or not, these were the only personal ones that had Ash and a female companion alone. Though this can be argued I do personally feel as if Pokeshipping and Amourshipping were hinted in these. Nonetheless May and Iris did not get a cameo poster with Ash alone.

Being saved

If you're going to consider one as a hint, then consider all of these as hints. These characters were simply being saved, and each of the falling scenes have a close up of grabbing each others hands. Let it be noted though, that Misty saving Ash, Serena saving Ash, and May saving Drew were the ONLY times the females saved their *crushes* every other time it's just Ash saving and girl. Yes a few of the girls liked Ash but that carries us into our next topic.

Blushing

Somebody said that "blushing doesn't always mean romance" of course. I get that, but not in these scenarios. Each person blushed due to to a romantic gesture. Whether it's embarrassing someone about possible love letters, accusing one of having feelings, accepting feelings, or simply a romantic moment. They say "Oh well Pokemon can't be romantic due to age" yet last time I checked, there is blushing, rose giving, slow dancing, kissing, and people asking if x has a crush on y. Can they go too far? No, but did they give us an idea on who liked who??? Definitely. As shown even Ash blushed, he just didn't blush very often, but them few counted. I understand that Goh blushes at Ash too though but last time I checked we aren't talking about characters being embarrassed, but I do believe if there is a possibility for there to be a LGBTQ relationship with Ash- Gary and Goh are definitely good representations.

Oh, and yes I am aware Ash was sick in the scene with him and Serena, but Pokemon did a pretty *obvious* job of making it a romantic scene regardless. They didn't have to do all that, but they did. "Some" people seem to forget that there's more to a Pokemon shipping than having to fish out romance out of non-romantic scenes due to their ship just being a healthy friendship at best, but if you're here for the obvious, you can easily tell Pokemon did their best to portray some kind of romance in these scenes. The proof was in the blushing. If you don't feel for someone you don't blush. You argue it out or deny it. We have all been in a scenario as kids and young teens where someone asks if you have feelings for someone, and you brush it off or argue about it because it's simply not true. I promise you my face only got red when I actually had feelings for someone. It's natural instinct, Pokemon knows that too. Take some notes from the Pokemon creators because they knew what they were drawing and what was going to be said in these scenes. Also take a look at the few shippings that had no blushing whatsoever. It's a sign, not an argument.

You know, you're only partially right. Look at how Ash looks at EVERY GIRL. Ooooh wow same expression. Pretty last resort thing to fall back on. Which is why there are other hints that help to make SOME of those expressions actually worth digging in to.

Let's face it, when it comes to ships like Contestshipping and Penguinshipping- there's very few episodes that Drew and Kenny are in, so every second counts. Plus the episodes with Angie, Anabel, and Lucy (towards Brock) they made it very clear within the very few episodes that those girls had feelings. Though I do believe Pearlshipping was partially one sided (I do feel like Dawn liked Ash to an extent only with the way she left Kenny to travel with Ash despite his offer) there was 100% proof Kenny DID have feelings for Dawn and it was easily initiated in the actions he made. Contestshipping was not one sided though. I've learned in my 23 years of watching Pokemon if they don't blush, it's not anything to worry about. Luckily May blushed nearly everytime, and Drew did blush but he didn't always need to. After all he was slinging red roses left and right, and if they were for Beautifly- the last one she received would've never been given to her since Beautifly wasn't even in Battle Frontier at all.

Though I am a Pokeshipper, Amourshipper, and half ass Pearlshipper- I stand as an ally when I say that if you're looking for romantic signs in a shipping you're going to have to find it in the Poke'girls actions. Ash doesn't *look* at one girl specifically different than the other. He literally just looks at them. Though the only person he ever blushed with was for Misty, but that doesn't mean the 2,000,000 hints Serena had are dismissed. After all, like I said before, if Pokemon wanted to create hints, they would, and they did. Those hints were soooo out there, that saying "oh look how Ash looks at her" is gonna leave us asking "who?" Because let's face it he looks at all of them pretty normal. That being said there are still hints Ash had. Being jealous of Misty's potential crushes, showing he was attracted to other women, running up to Serena when he was sick and falling into her arms, and looking at Serena when she kissed him and doing nothing but smile, when normally Ash would probably freak the fuck out.

That being said I hope I made myself clear on how to spot a close-to-canon shipping. It's okay to ship people who have litte to no proof of real romance, but don't say a ship with real proof has none. That is where you are wrong.

...you have opened my eyes to a vast universe of VintageBeef lore that I was unaware of. I knew about the New Hermit Order, of course, and the UHC invention, and I've watched a few of his CTM things but -- I will take all the info and lore you feel like giving out because Beef is amazing and my knowledge is so small.

So the thing is, right, until about 2016 I only watched two (2) youtubers- Vintagebeef for Minecraft and aDrive for Pokemon (and funnily enough both of them are named Dan irl). So I've watched most of Beef's videos over the years and have a general knowledge of most of his stuff, except because it's been like a decade I don't remember where most of the lore comes from XD

The thing with him is that he doesn't do Lore tm the way other mcyters often do lore- he doesn't have an extensive RP series to draw from like Grian, doesn't have a solo world with steadily increasing amounts of lore like Etho or Zisteau, and while he's played on SMPs and been involved in storylines before it's not really the focus of his episodes unlike with Evo or Legacy or Empires

So where does that leave us?

IRL, Beef always has multiple series running at the same time. Often he's playing on an smp while doing a singleplayer, often modded, series as well as a CTM or modpack with a group of friends. For example, right now he's playing on Hermitcraft, doing weekly Pixelmon and Building a Zoo episodes, and a CTM map with Slip. And to me, this translates to one thing: Beef is an adventurer. He travels frequently- he explores a world and when he decides he's done, he leaves for the next one. That's the basis of my personal interpretation of his series and his character for my writing.

Ok so reading this back, this got extremely long and didn't explain much in the way of lore, somehow? If anyone has any additions to add please do so, I am very definitely leaving out a lot and would love to see what other lore people remember and are using for Beef! I didn’t include the Hermitcraft stuff since my memory of season 4 is blurry (his base was themed after the Martian, that much I know, and he and Iskall were buddies :D) and most of the s5 NHO lore is best watched from Bdub’s perspective from what I remember, and the only s6 stuff is a single line in Hermitgang and then the Area 77 arc with its possibility of an NHO reunion which we did not get rip. And s7 of course had the cloning machine and also the Podzol Party as the main lore. So all the original rambling is still below the cut though it is very long, and I'm gonna bullet point the main stuff here instead:

Actual canonical things:

Invented UHC and was the only survivor of the first ever uhc (Mindcrack UHC s1)

Married to an ender dragon (one of the UHCs I think), later father to a different dragon (Mindcrack season 3? I think?)

Might not have legs if you choose to take that joke as canon (Mindcrack s2)

Was a wizard (RAD)

is a zookeeper (Building a Zoo) 

Had a wife and kids (Sims in Minecraft)

Part of the Trial of the B Team court case (Mindcrack)

NHO founder, founder of the Podzol Party (Hermitcraft)

Created a cloning machine that sort of works (Hermitcraft)

Played the Forest which is I believe the first time he and Keralis played together (look up the trigger warnings for this one, it's a horror game)

Was the creator/owner of Sourceblock SMP (featuring some familiar faces if you know Legacy, Empires, or MCC) and there is literal magic from a mysterious sourceblock of water that teleports people and summons mobs and probably more stuff that I haven't seen yet since I'm still watching it myself

Things you can infer:

Good with animals (Life in the Woods, Pixelmon, Ark)

Is a car nerd (irl and all of the car games he's played)

Is a highly experienced adventurer who has traveled through dozens of worlds both vanilla and modded, across multiple dimensions (Twilight Forest, the Aether, the Betweenlands, Limbo), completed dozens of monuments, fought in blood sports, survived apocalypse after apocalypse, tamed dinosaurs, and played a lot of prop hunt and golf with your friends

If you're looking for what to watch for lore purposes, I'd say the Mindcrack UHCs and Team Canada's RAD series are pretty good, definitely Sourceblock and HC s5, plus the Diversity CTM maps and Ruins of the Mindcrackers maybe? And Mindcrack Prank Wars for the chaos and the origin of Team Canada. And if you can handle horror than the Forest is fun and if you don't do horror you can watch the Pojkband play golf or prop hunt they're hilarious I love them sm I want a Pojkband reunion So Bad 

Beef's first series was a singleplayer series in beta 1.4_01 though he had played the game extensively before that, and was a big fan of Guude, having watched his own Minecraft videos. The series was functionally a hardcore one where if he died Beef would delete the world and start again! I haven't actually Watched this series so idk if he died or how often lmao. When Guude made Mindcrack, which was btw one of the very first Minecraft SMPs, he also hosted a competition for people to join, and Beef submitted a video (which is still viewable on his channel I believe!) and won, and was added to Mindcrack in season 2 :D (fun fact, Guude said that even if Beef hadn’t won he would have added him anyway) 

Two running jokes emerged from Mindcrack- pulling a Vintagebeef and Beef doesn't have legs. The first is a reference to Beef dying of fall damage (I believe the exact instance was him trying to jump into his swimming pool and failing spectacularly) and after the incident, every time someone died of fall damage they were pulling a Vintagebeef. The second joke comes from Guude, who joked that the reason Beef wasn't going to a convention was because he didn't have legs, and then he pranked Beef's base by building a giant pair of legs at the entrance to his castle so you had to walk between them to get into the base. This joke has long since died and both Beef and Guude feel pretty bad about it iirc because there were people who genuinely thought Beef was disabled and were emailing him supportive messages and stuff oops. So if you go looking on the Salad or find old Mindcrack fics, you might see references to Beef having prosthetic legs!

Mindcrack also brought about the creation of several Player groups- Team Nancy Drew, Team Canada, and GOB to name a few relevant to Beef. Team Nancy Drew consists of Beef, Pauseunpause, Guude, and Baj, who formed to investigate a prank on one of the members but I forget who. They're named Nancy Drew after the detective! Team Canada also formed in retaliation to pranks, with it consisting of Beef, Etho, and Pause, the three Canadian members on the server (not including Adlington who moved to Canada but never joined the group). There was also a Team America who pranked them with American flags everywhere. GOB is Guude, OMGChad, and Beef, who played stuff like the Ragecraft, Pantheon, and Monstrosity ctms together but that's way down the line lol

Team Nancy Drew is also notable for inventing UHC. It was Beef's brainchild but it was the four of them who first played it! The first UHC had the four of them working to kill the dragon with no natural regen, with everyone dying but Beef, who "won" the UHC. The second uhc was still dragon focused and iirc is where Beef married the dragon? Memories are hazy but they do kill the dragon in this one I think. UHC was then revamped as a pvp event and became a regular Mindcrack game every few months, featuring most of the Mindcrackers and several special guests, including Dinnerbone, who as we know Thanos-snapped Doc's arm out of existence as a result of Doc killing him in one of them

In one of the seasons of Mindcrack, Beef invited swedish Mindcracker and good friend Anderzel to go caving with him and invented ABBA Rules caving, where the winner takes it all. ABBA Rules is a game where each ore (and also dungeon loot like nametags) is assigned a point value and the person with the most points at the end wins and gets to keep all the stuff collected from the game.

In Mindcrack season 3?, Beef punched the ender dragon in an... awkward area, so when the dragon died and left the egg behind, Guude said Beef was the father of the egg XD I don't remember if I watched s3 so I have no idea if anything Happened with this concept but *history of the world voice* you could make lore out of this!

So Team Canada has played a Lot of CTM maps (which fun fact were pretty much invented by another Mindcrack member, Vechs, with his Super Hostile series! Super Hostile has a bunch of things called "Zistonian", which are references to another Mindcrack member Zisteau, who has a very wild singleplayer series with even wilder lore but I digress). In Ruins of the Mindcrackers, they had a running joke that Beef was Etho and Pause's mom, which is a joke we can leave in the past actually /lh. They also played all the Diversity maps, Sky Factory, Terra Restore, Uncharted Territory uhhh and a couple more ctms and adventure maps! Each map kinda has its own story so in Diversity 3 for example they were trapped in a simulation? I think? Team Canada also recently played the Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons modpack, aka RAD, in which Beef was a wizard with a magic staff that could do anything from summon lightning to control hostile mobs.

Sourceblock SMP is a vanilla survival 1.14 series that ran for one season and the series starts with each of the Players being drawn to a strange sparkling water source that, once they touch it, brings them to the Sourceblock world. It also summons a giant zombie at one point. There's probably more lore for this series but like I said I haven't watched it all the way through yet 

He has a Patreon server called VintageCraft and has done a series or two on there as well, and played a few UHCs with them, so lore that how you will! 

Beef also played a few popular mods, notably Pixelmon, Life in the Woods, and Feed the Beast, with LitW being singleplayer and the other multiplayer. He's also recently played the Zoo and Wild Animals mod a lot. He did a short series with the Minecraft Comes Alive mod where he married one of the villagers and had two children, so that's canon now :D he’s played a Lot of Pixelmon starting when the mod first came out iirc (he chose Turtwig in his first series and built a Grass gym, then made a Normal gym in another series in uhh 2016) and he still plays to this day. Quite a few Hermits played on his Pixelmon servers with him, like Wels, Etho, Iskall, Stress, Slip, Zueljin, and also Guude and Phedran (a Mindcrack adjacent player and creator of the LitW modpack) and a few Mindcrackers on the older servers 

Mindcrack and friends played a lot of other games too- 7 Days to Die, Ark Survival Evolved, Unturned, to name a few, so you can pull a lot of lore out of these as well. Speaking of friends and non-Minecraft games, Beef teamed up with Pause, Keralis, and Slip (a former Hermit) to play the horror game the Forest, which saw them stuck on an island trying to survive against terrifying mutated human... things. They played it a few times as the game updated but as afaik it's the first time Beef played with Keralis and possibly Slip and since the game starts with the Player's airplane crashing, that could totally be how Beef first met them in-universe 

I... think? that’s everything I mentioned in the tags? There is probably way more stuff I’ve forgotten that stems from inside jokes and things that happen within each series, but I hope that was a) helpful and b) at least somewhat comprehensible lmao

Ditto would like you to introduce yourself a little bit. The url you go by, maybe how you picked it. Was it a joke at first that you just stuck with, does it have significant meaning?

The username is what people would call a lover of blood. I started Jax in … 2018? Octoberish and he had the common username including Rocket in it and I decided to pick a theme more fitting to him. Eventually I settled with the current one as it fits him as a blood obsessor to put it bluntly. I mean he likes blood, works around a lot of it and all that so it just… Well, stuck!

Was there something about Team Rocket in general that drew you in? Over other ‘evil’ organizations, Rocket is considered the OG & probably largest. But, over Plasma/Galactic, what made you choose Rocket?

I’ve always been a Rocket fan. I started in the Pokemon fandom (can you call it a fandom back then) in 1998 when I was only eight by watching the anime. You could say that Rocket started my love for bad guys actually! I used to adore Jessie and James so much. They were just so fun, funny and adorable. Maybe I had a crush on one… Ahem! But yes, as a kid I fell for the trio (I didn’t forget loveable Meowth there!) and ever since then I’ve been a fan. I love all the bad guys mind you but Rocket holds a special place in my heart. Just always been like that.

A bonus question !! Did any characters from the original Anime / Franchise…  help you develop Jax at all?

A good question but Jax actually was inspired by a character I role played in a completely different fandom. I mean you cannot compare them - Jax is a human with so many faults and the other character is… Well, a plain old monster. But when I first made Jax I put little bits of the old character into him, such as formal speaking and love for blood. He started pretty much as a clean slate. I evolved him over the first few weeks.

Do you think that, because you play a character that is not a ‘good guy’ or as you put it, a monster, that people that may not know you well find you hard to approach?

Indeed so. Though I only speak of experience in the past here! When I played my full out monster in another fandom, people would tell others they were actually scared of me on an OOC level. Needless to say I’ve spoken to many people who were scared and helped them realise that it is just a muse I play. When it comes to Tumblr I find the fandom much more open and less afraid? Though I don’t know for certain because people could be afraid for all I know and I just don’t know. I hope I’m approachable enough anyway!

So then !! To help the part community that may not know you well, or might be a little hesitant because you play a blood loving bad guy, what are some things that you may have in common with everyone? Do you have a favorite pokemon? Or a region that just was WACK & you loved it so much? What’s on that most repeated playlist you got? Or maybe a few movies that you really love?

I read every blog’s rules and I’ve noticed that a lot of people are socially anxious. Which to be fair… I am too! I get nervous around people I don’t know and aahhhh, well, I’m in the exact same boat. We all start as strangers and all it takes is one foot forward to break that ice but, like others, I do find that first step very intimidating. I’m just your average nerd to be fair haha. As for my favourite Pokemon? Sneasel! I fell in love with that little critter after watching the Celebi movie when it came out. Favourite region would be Hoenn. I just have fond memories of it I guess as a Ruby fan. It was the first game my battery ran out of energy on. My music is too horrific for anybody’s ears if that’s what you mean hah. And movies? … … Digimon the movie (1+2+3 in Japan and just the first (all three combined) in UK and presumably other places too).

As someone who feels that weird wiggle when trying to step out of your comfort zone to make friends. Do you have any advice for people that want to get to know you better? Or, reaching out to people in general?

When reaching out to me - or anybody else - I find the best approach can be a simple hello. It instantly shatters that ice between two people. Like… Many of us are afraid to simply say hello. But if you manage to break that first bit it’s amazing! If you don’t there is always another day. Conversation can escalate from a mere hello. Or even reply to an open post if serious or funny! That first step is the hardest indeed but things get easier after that first hurdle. The worst someone can do is walk away and then perhaps it just wasn’t meant to be. Everybody has friends in the end and making more is great.

That said. We all know how the Poke RPC has its ups, & its downs. Sometimes both happen in one day. LOL. There is always room for growth though, & Ditto believes that everyone can work together to make that happen. Is there anything you would like to see change in the community?

Everything in life will come with ups and downs, it’s just how things go. We can all work through things however. If something bad happens there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. As a community it is great we can all work on whatever needs addressing. I understand some people rather turn a blind eye depending upon the situation. We all should work on what makes us comfortable. Nonetheless, if I could change one thing I’d change anon hate. Argh. That’s one thing that gets under my skin. We, as a community, should be open to criticism and praise alike and nobody should need to harass another person anonymously. If someone has a disagreement then they should tell the person. Only that way can they work on the issue. But then again there is needless anon hate without true purpose behind it and that makes me sad. But nobody is perfect and sometimes people will rear their ugly side. Yet when anon hate has popped up it has been utterly overwhelming to see everybody support each other with kindness!

Ditto wonders, do you think anon hate may… slow down, or go away, if it was ignored instead of responded to when received? Most times, the people that feel the need to do hurtful things to others is for response. The attention received whether it is good or bad.

I think it’s highly dependent upon the situation. As someone who has received hate in the past (not on Tumblr mind you) I found that even ignoring people doesn’t work. Yet every case is different. Some do it for response, some do it to just get under someone’s skin. We can’t tell which however. If, say, it is needless hate then to ignore it would be the best option, even reporting it to Tumblr’s staff. But if in the situation something needs defending like a misconception then it could be a good idea to clear the air. Keyword could though. I’ve learned that people will get ideas into their mind and battle for it rather than accepting what is truth. In those cases a good air clearing is good and then to ignore any further.... Jabbing could be best. But if people feel the need to respond they should have the freedom to, as well as the freedom to ignore it.

Is there anything you’d like to pass on to those in the RPC that receive anon hate? Maybe a word of advice, or just something supportive to remember if it ever happens?

Well, as long as someone isn’t breaking any rules, doing something bad OOC or whatever- Actually I was going to say they should keep going and doing their thing. And yet I feel the need to mention that all people make mistakes in their lives. Anon hate is a bad way to go. The person on the receiving end of a message is a person too. They have feelings and thoughts and a life also. If you ever receive anon hate then just remember that there’s someone sending it and perhaps they don’t realize their mistake. That isn’t to say it’s justified. Just that people do indeed forget there are real people involved. … I think I word things bad! I mean… Anon hate is wrong, end of. But it is so easy to forget that real people are sat to read it. If you ever get anon hate then it is best to ignore it. That spark could evolve into a full blown fire and make you worse off. Hm, I forgot my train of thought but in the end we all need less hate and to just enjoy ourselves. People tend to send hate from bad experiences with the person or disagreements if right or wrong on either side but words are just words on a screen. They can say all they want to you but you are you. You are a person who deserves a life and love and no mere text on a monitor - Or phone screen! - can ever truly harm you.

Ditto thinks you did a fine job. We all take time to find words in our own ways, & no one has the perfect ones all the time. So please do not worry about wording things. It takes some practice sometimes, when you’re put on the spot !!

I have a vast array of good memories. Mainly ones of that first move of saying hello to someone or just that first interaction. Then again you’re asking someone with a bad memory! I truly just enjoy seeing people having a good time, enjoying their time here. When people are comfortable enough to do crack threads, that’s something that makes me smile. For instance the RPC could have been super strict and look down upon anything not considered serious and yet there everybody is just having fun! I enjoy watching people get along all in all. When new relations are formed, plots explored, the crack-like threads that ensue. Dash commentary is always a favourite. It shows someone isn’t afraid to get involved. I like it when people aren’t afraid. As I said, we’re all humans with lives and just watching people have fun makes me smile, even if I’m not involved. And of course, being involved in things makes me happy too, to just be included :D

really idk i feel like even our schools’s Antics were pretty par for the course and i was just sitting in the corner reading the whole time basically......trying to think if anything wild happened in college but even then it was p similar. well you know what, whatever donors covered the majority of the cost of the school’s black box theater being renovated apparently Stipulated that every other year a rodgers and hammerstein production be put on. absolute freaks. my roommate/friend and their then-boyfriend, the one mormon i have Knowingly Known in my life, were in pirates of penzance (sic?) together. hilarious

2) leaning hard into winston even with the few glimpses of him b/c somehow will Cannot play an allistic cishet. and this is even More of a case where maybe i don’t much have winston’s demeanor.......even without winston being a beacon of confidence, he has more confidence lmao. and he has that ability to just Be Himself in a situation which, i wish i had that moxie lmao. i am a lot more [usually trying to be accommodating wayyyy harder than i should], booo......even though he’s clearly not great at conflict considering how it doesn’t take Too much to put him out, it’d be pretty impossible for me to be all “called them hacks and lame” or carry out a very irritated monologue in front of four people in the first place lmao. but who knows. and it’s more in the details of like, oh no winston’s the odd one out even though he hasn’t really Done Anything, but we all ~understand~ why he Deserves it.........his expectation / treating it basically as Fact that he will disappoint people.......the [weird] [offputting] behaviors and his way of speaking in What he Says and How He Says It seeming wrong to people.......like it’s only 15-ish min of content that we have here and we don’t have the least info about will’s own thoughts on the character but it’s like. how is this such an iconic Gay Autistic Quant b/c these vibes are so rare. and i appreciate that he can be ~difficult~ lmao. same with jared though i didn’t mention it. i can be difficult!! love it for us...

4) oscar martinez from the office is weirdly [Haha Same] sometimes lmfao. sort of keeps to himself but also has to pipe up with Opinions and Pedantry and the kind of Drama of a restrained theatre gay. some deleted scene from an episode where during an interview clip of Jimothy in a theater lobby and you have oscar call from across the group in that [wearied Ugh God] way of ‘jim, they’re remaking ___’ while jim just kind of gives a cursory “wow gosh” or whatever and like, i sure don’t have lots of Theatre Opinions but that “oh jeez i have a Take on this and have to share it with someone” vibe is like hahaha yeah.....it’s funny in the “the gang goes to the ice rink for a third of the ep” bit where you just catch oscar doing [ice skating turn] with some solemn intensity.......the “here’s a question nobody’s asking: is this worth it” quote.........way at the end where there’s a whole deal with one of the indoor plants and he’s like “why is it a He” @ the collective gendering of the houseplant lmfao.......i love the one thing where he and pam and uhh toby right? have the Finer Things book club or whatever and jim wants to join just like ~ironically~ and pam has to tell him that oscar doesn’t want him to join b/c he’s not going to take it seriously and use it as a Jokes Vehicle. and then you get the scene at the end where jim Is basically doing that and they’re just like taking it out of him and oscar’s all very seriously like “did you get it all out of your system” lmfao like yeah, earnest members only lmao.....the thing where he gets mad at angela’s like Jazz Musician Posed Babies posters all “it’s kitsch it Destroys art” lmaoooo and in a totally different season all “this is the problem with debate” over the completely inconsequential “is [whichever actress, i forget] Hot” “”””debate””””.......the whole tendency to get involved and always have a take to get across.....opinionated-sometimes-to-the-point-of-petty central. also that he’s the canon gay, are there even any others? anyways and as the us office’s spiritual successor i’ll add on to this by uh what’s the name of billy eichner’s character on parks and rec? it’s craig right. that Self-Powered Intensity is very #me as well.

5) augh god........im like lmfao shit who represents my Hater Club side. hmmm. oh no wait you know what. totally different but i love Prof Beatrice Hotchkiss in the trt nancy drew pc game. she’s holed up in her room writing all the time and just is weird when you try to talk to her all like no i won’t open the door, bring me food, do this Research, bring me my Ski Boots i guess......and then when you do meet her it’s all at like post-midnight in the lounge and she’s all like, encouraging you as a Night Owl and your investigative curiosity and all and i’m like oh word yeah being up in the dead of night is the shit. she’s just weird and passionate and this is another character i might not Act hardly at all like but who i vibe with lmfao. hotchkiss was the supportive adult in my life

Selfship Positivity Day

So I heard that today is a day for some selfship positivity! I want to also thank a few people for tagging me in their posts!

I have joined the self-ship community on tumblr in early 2018. I have really started self-shipping when I was around 7 years old and fell in love with Bonkers D Bobcat, who was my first crush, but I promptly gave up on him when I saw that he had a crush on Fawn Deer in canon (as a kid I thought that canon was what was real, so....). I had a few minor crushes on a few other characters as well (like Johnny from S.O.S. Croco), but never actively self-shipped with them, I just found them really cool.

Then at 11 years old, I went to see the First Pokemon Movie and fell in love with Mewtwo at first sight. After Bonkers, he was the first character I actively started to self ship with, and he has been a great inspiration and help for me; I was raised in an emotionally abusive household, emotionally neglected, starved for affection that I never got. Plus my mother has narcissistic personality disorder and only sees me as a living plaything and extension of her - which this is no fun way to grow up. Add to this that I was pretty much the social outcast at school, and you would probably understand why I always had suicidal ideations, depression and eventually developed avoidant personality disorder. So yeah, seeing Mewtwo, neglected by the scientists who refused him warmth and him going against Giovanni... I wanted to be like Mewtwo, just as strong as him. Daydreaming of him in the evening was what kept me sane and gave me the feeling that at least someone loved me, even if he was fictional. Plus, through him, I learned about genetics and science and decided I wanna go into science (which led me to being a Biology PhD student today) - which led me into choosing Biology, Chemistry and English as my majors in our german school system.

I have always drawn the occasional self ship picture or sketch with Mewtwo, but back then, I mostly focused on shipping other pairings from other franchises. I came to the internet for the first time in 2005, when I joined Deviantart through other self shippers who had their sights on various Sonic characters and shipped their own OCs with them. In fact, I have made my own OC named Jamai Dark to ship her with Shadow the hedgehog.

The first picture with Mewtwo was one that I tried to trace from “Mewtwo Returns”. Though I still focused more on shipping other pairings and on the Sonic franchise. In any case, the Mewtwo artists back then were a huge inspiration for me.

My first fanchild with Mewtwo, Kunai, was posted online before I ever posted any of my selfship pictures, and even then, I avoided outright saying that she was supposed to be the daughter of me and Mewtwo because of the backlash I feared. I simply enjoyed watching the more daring artists who outright were able to profess their love for Mewtwo, which I didn’t have the courage for at first. My first other self shipper that I found was @desert-fairy-vixen, who had remained a loyal friend ever since I started out on Deviantart.

At 16, I became involved with a boy around my age and entered a relationship with him. He forbid me Mewtwo, stating that he wasn’t necessary any more, so I tearfully bid Mewtwo goodbye, writing him a poem as well as drawing one goodbye picture.

However, my relationship with my boyfriend was not that good, and without Mewtwo, I simply felt lost. My frist boyfriend belonged to a religious cult and was homeschooled; he was also heavily brainwashed that religion trumps over all, so I tried for years to reconcile his religion with my science, only finding that it was impossible. I have still stayed with this guy for 6 years, when he had started to control me even more with his abusive grip. I ended it with him then, and was heartbroken, feeling that I didn’t deserve Mewtwo after having left him to be with my boyfriend. So I couldn’t jump back into self shipping. Instead, I shipped certain pairings from the YuGiOh series, as well as Digimon, in the meantime. It was actually when I hit the Digimon stage that I started to self ship with Arukenimon. I also had a crush on Eridan Ampora.

In 2013, I had a dream in which Mewtwo fought and protected me from zombies. That was the point at which I decided that I want to be with Mewtwo again. Why deny myself this? Why hide?  And so I drew my first comic in which I tried to remember my past with Mewtwo, and this is how I met my first self shippers on Deviantart who also self shipped with Mewtwo. In fact, @sweetwhitechoco was one of the first I openly talked with when it came to Mewtwo. I have watched Lullaby-of-the-Lost and Kokoro-Tokoro from afar and didn’t dare to talk to them because they were out of my league, but seeing other people post self ship Mewtwo art made me want to do the same.

I only found out about the self shipping community on tumblr in 2017, after having had haters who told me that my self ship is vile and bestiality. Finding an entire community of self shippers was a blessing after having gone through such shit. I think I am still not over the fact that I have tried to give up Mewtwo when I came together with my abusive ex-boyfriend for the first time. Sometimes I wonder if Mewtwo would really want to be back together with me, or I feel unworthy of him. I can only hope that I may overcome this one day. Or it’s just a symptom of my AvPD, because I tend to push away those I love to not taint them with my imperfections.

In any case, onwards to the shippers I met on here!

@star-platinums-wife was one of the first self shippers, and through her and her followers, I got to know more self shippers. Though the concept of having a self shipping blog is what I have seen from @gamzeeismyboyfriend for the first time, and this was actually when I decided to post my selfship art on my blog too.

@asa-de-ouro is one of the best friends I could have hoped to find, and she is the mom friend for sure!

I also got to know @husband-of-lucoa, who is also a great friend and really loved by both Lucoa and Palutena! They both told me so!

@lightningsconsort Your love and devotion to your queen Lightning is such an inspiration, I wish you both many happy years together for the future!

@slyvivi has such a cute self ship with Necrozma, it is always a delight to see someone who also self ships with a Pokemon! You and Necrozma are so cute together, and I am sure that he sees you as the Light of his life. And @come-along-here-and-spin-with-me, you and Oracion are also such cuties together!

@lildreamysoul, you are an absolute Queen, and I kind of count you in as “above my league”; I love the ideas you have for self shipping! Making your own self ship mugs? A book with collected artworks? Acrylic charms? Like dang, you make me want to try this out as well!

A Good Man

Summary: A strange man once told Wendy that her father was a good man. Thomas disagrees.

“Your father is a good man, Wendy, never forget that.”

Once another parent at my school called my Daddy a ‘good man.’ At the time I didn’t really understand... Once my Daddy came to pick me up I asked him.

“Daddy, are you a good man?”

“... No... At least, not anymore.”

Daddy looked really sad when I asked that. Like how he looks when he talks about Mommy. He was really quiet after that. Daddy didn’t look like he wanted to talk about it, so we changed the subject.

 Daddy is usually very quiet. But he’s always there when I need him. Daddy always watches me while I’m playing with my friends, or while I’m at practice. And Daddy always says good things about the projects I bring home from school.

 “Hey! Look, Daddy! I drew a picture of our family!”

“Oh, you even drew Mimi.”

“Yeah! Duh! Mimi is also family!”

“Of course she is. It’s a very good drawing.”

I once brought home a drawing I did in class of our family. Daddy liked it so much that he even put it on the fridge! When I was drawing it, my teacher said that I had a funny family. She said that my family wasn’t like a normal family. I saw that on my classmate’s drawings, a lot of them have two parents and a brother or sister. I know that my family isn’t really normal, and neither is my dad, but we’re happy. Me and daddy are happy. It’s just the two of us and Mimi.

 My Daddy is a very weird person. He doesn’t smile, but when he does it looks even weirder! He doesn’t laugh either. I think it’s because he misses Mommy. I’ve seen old pictures of Mommy and Daddy. He smiles in those pictures. He looks really happy in them. But not now. Daddy looks so sad and lonely now.

“Daddy, was mommy nice?”

“Yes, Wendy, she was very nice. One of the nicest people I ever met.”

“And is that why you married her?”

“Yes.”

“... Daddy.”

“Hm?”

“Why did Mommy have to die?”

“... Because Daddy wasn’t there when Mommy needed him.”

Daddy blames himself for Mommy’s death.

 “Daddy, have you ever shot somebody before?”

“... Yes, but only because it was necessary. I would never shoot at anyone who doesn’t deserve it.”

“Have you ever... killed someone?”

“... Yes... but only because I had to. I didn’t want to. Bad people need to be brought to justice, and that’s impossible if they’re dead.”

My Daddy’s a cop! And they’re the good guys, right?

Well, my Daddy doesn’t act like a good guy. Daddy isn’t like the good guys on TV. Daddy isn’t yelly and always running like a hero. Daddy doesn’t save everyone in the end… Daddy doesn’t always let himself get hurt if others are in trouble, and Daddy never wins the girl.

Because Daddy is a cop, he says that sometimes he has to shoot people, and good guys don’t kill people... Do they?

Daddy doesn’t break down doors, chase after bad guys, or get in gun fights like the cops on TV. But he still protects people.

Daddy always protects me. He even protects me when I don’t need to be protected. But it’s okay.

I think Daddy protects me so much because I don’t have a Mommy to be with while Daddy is at work. Daddy always spends time with me even though I know he is busy.

As long as I have Daddy, I don’t need a Mommy. No one makes me feel as safe as Daddy.

 “Hello, Wendy, is your ‘Daddy’ home?”

“No.”

“Do you know when he’ll be back?”

“No...”

“Shame... I wonder where Thomas is...”

“You’re Elliot’s Niels Dad.”

“So, that’s what Kiddo’s been calling me... Yes, I am.”

 One time my Daddy had to go to work for something important. He couldn’t call my babysitter, so he told me to lock all the doors and to not let anyone else in. Daddy said he would be right back.

He took a long time.

 I was watching cartoons, and that’s when he came in. He was my classmate’s second dad. He was the parent at my school that called my Daddy a ‘good man.’

“So, what are you watching?”

“Pokemon...”

“Really? Kiddo... I mean Elliot loves Pokemon! Do you mind if I watch with you while I wait for your Daddy to come home?”

“But Daddy said... I shouldn’t let strangers in the house.”

“But I’m not a stranger, am I?”

He was a funny man. He said he was friends with my Daddy, so I let him watch cartoons with me.

 But when Daddy came home... Daddy was not happy to see Mr. Niels at all.

“What are you doing here, Niels.”

“Oh, Thomas! You’re home!”

“What have you been doing with my daughter?”

“Oh, nothing bad, I assure you. We were just watching some cartoons.”

Daddy was angry. A very scary kind of angry. I had never seen Daddy this angry before.

 Daddy told Mr. Niels to leave, but Mr. Niels didn’t want to.

“Get out of my house.”

“But, you just got here. Let’s just sit down for a while and have a chat. You know, for old time’s sake.”

That was when Daddy pulled out the gun he uses at work.

 “Get out. Or I swear to God, I will blow your head off.”

“Don’t be that way, Thomas. Your daughter’s watching.”

“Wendy... Get away from him. That man is a very bad man.”

I tried to go over to Daddy, but Mr. Niels grabbed my wrist and wouldn’t let go.

 “Oh, Thomas. I know we’ve had our disagreements. But you know that I’m not that terrible once you get to know me.”

“Get away from her.”

“Besides, it doesn’t matter. You can’t protect her here.”

Daddy looked scared.

 Daddy being so scared made me too scared to look back at Mr. Niels.

“… Daddy?”

 “… No... You wouldn’t.”

“I could. You know me better than anyone. You know that I’ve done worse before.”

I heard something click, and Mr. Niles put something next to my head.

 “You... You would kill an innocent child? And for what? So that I could be your play thing again?”

“You know me. I will do anything to get what I want.”

“Despicable… What about Elliot? If he got in your way, would you kill him too?”

“Well...”

“You can’t be that heartless. He’s practically your son!”

“...”

“And what about Natalie and Duncan? If they saw you like this… Do you really think they’d approve?”

Mr. Niels stayed real quiet before he let me go.

 I ran to my Daddy and he held me tighter than he ever had before.

 “I’ll let myself out.”

But when Mr. Niels walked past us, he stopped.

 “Wendy, your father is a good man.”

I looked at Daddy. His face was the same as when he was thinking about Mommy.

“Niels. You know me better than anyone else alive. I am not.”

Mr. Niels left quietly.

Mr. Niels didn’t say another word.

 Once he left, Daddy let out his breath.

“Thank God you’re okay.”

 The next time I saw Mr. Niels, my Daddy was late picking me up.

I was waiting by the front of the school with Elliot. His parents were late too.

When Elliot’s parents came, Mr. Niels picked Elliot up to give him a kiss on the forehead.

 “Hello Wendy. Good to see you’re doing well.”

Mr. Niels was talking to me, though he wasn’t looking at me.

 “Daddy tells me not to talk to you. He says you’re a very bad man.”

“Oh, I’m not that bad once you get to know me. I’m just like your father, really.”

I tried to scoot away from him and Elliot on the curb.

 “Don’t worry, Wendy, I won’t hurt you. I’m just here to pick up my kid.”

“Then why’re you talking to me?”

“I just wanted to tell you something.”

I wanted to ignore him and go back inside, but I was too curious to leave.

 “What?”

“Your father is a good man.”

“But Daddy says...”

“He forgets that he is one sometimes. But that doesn’t stop it from being true. He is a good man. As much as he denies it, he always does the right thing. Don’t forget that, Wendy. He just needs reminding of it sometimes.”

Mr. Niles then went off with Elliot’s other parents. But I still remember what he said. I will always remember what he said. I remember because no matter how horrible that man was, he was right.

A/N: I always liked Niels. I’ve been reading it for a very long time. Thomas has just always inexplicably been my favorite character and when I wrote this like... 5 years ago or something, I was incredibly disappointed by the lack of Thomas content in the community. So I made this experimental little thing. I think I had the idea that this took place before Niels had made some policy against killing kids, and that this could have been an event that made him swear away from it...? But my memory of my thought process when I was writing it is pretty blurry at this point. I don’t think Humon is interested in making this series anymore, but if she ever happens to see this... Hey! Thank you for making it all those years ago. It really helped me out a lot when I was growing up, and I still love it to this day.

Chris Ulm Author interview

A little introduction: Hey, my name is Chris and I'm the Author of the series Vengeance. I'm mostly interested in gaming, airsoft and anything i can do to satisfy that creative itch. Things like, drawing, painting, making music, YouTube videos, crafting and most of all writing. When did your love of books begin? It's not necessarily a love for books, it's a love for stories. Growing up in a small school of < 300 students and a lack of any social skills whatsoever, I had a lot of time to myself and was quickly labelled as a weird kid. Didn't help that I had my Pokemon toys guard my cubby in grade school and wore my Lion King hat religiously. To fill the void of not having anyone to talk to, I turned to stories. Any world I could immerse myself in to escape the reality I had no affinity for. Even though now as an adult I don't have time for physical reading, I am constantly ingesting video games and podcasts of such a wide variety that it constantly feeds my fire to create. When did you start to have the wish to become an author? I grew up inspired by the few books i did read and the television I was watching as a child. This media planted a seed that occasionally birthed little short stories for school and personal retellings of my adventures at home. However, I didn't really start writing until my senior year in high school. I had always written song lyrics up until that point, but my creative outlet was mostly focused to drawing and YouTube videos. I told stories in the characters and creatures I drew, and the engagement with an audience via video. When I wrote the short story Vengeance in twelfth grade, I felt something different. Some control over the details that I never truly engaged with in videography, photography and art. How have you found the process for becoming an author?My process is scattered and inconsistent. Sometimes I'll write at a frenzied pace for three weeks straight and then I will fall off for two months. And when I'm writing, I am usually hot-seating between two different stories at the same time. Even though everything I currently write is a part of the umbrella narrative that is this one series, they are all thematically different yet overlapping. If anything, I am the most stressed that I'll be for the day, when I'm writing. Otherwise, I'm constantly thinking about what I have written and need tow write. My phone is constantly filling and emptying of notes. What would you say to those wanting to become an author? Good luck. It is by no means easy and I don't think you'll ever be fully satisfied with what you put out there. If you're anything like me, you will constantly think about every little question that someone may ask about lore or whatever. But there's a point where you have to let those worries go and just put it out there. Also, don't rush anything and don't start selling on paperback. Print is permanent and you don't want mistake drafts floating around down the line. Lastly, at the end of the day, while it may be incredibly challenging; i have never been so happy in my life then when i receive a compliment on some aspect of my books. Its truly wonderful. Tell us about your book/books: Oh boy I don't know where to begin. Heavily inspired by Supernatural and various Anime for one. We follow along a middle school girl with a pretty screwy home life and not-so-great school life either. Partially a consequence of her own shortcomings but also a result of things far beyond her control. No matter where young Kimberly goes, she's always faced with some outer negative influence or her own inner demons. When things go too far and she learns that there are real devils in the world, she's faced with a life changing decision that can only end in blood. From there, the lore of these demons and their goals drags her into a whirlwind of revelation regarding her fathers dark past and what it all implies for the future. Certainly not for people who are sensitive to gore, suicide, abuse and general horror. What do you love about the writing/reading community? I've stuck to the sidelines mostly, because I still don't quite know where I fit in with anyone. But from what I've observed personally is there is so much overlap. I'm amazed by how much I relate to so many writers I've seen on twitter and equally astonished by how drastically different our day-to-day lives are; yet we are connected via a blank sheet of paper. Oh, I also absolutely love seeing the creative covers of peoples books. If you could say anything to your readers what would it be?I have basically a survey of questions i always ask anyone who reads my book. Its generally who is your favorite and least favorite characters and such. But I'm always curious of their predictions for the sequel, since it isn't out yet. And whose story they want to know that didn't get explained in b1. Mostly, i want to let them know how much it means to me that they even took the time. I love my story and characters and get giddy with the thought of someone going along that journey. I want to know every opinion. Where can people connect with you? Okay so I’m going to ramble about my first oc ever under the cut. Before I got into rping and dnd related stuff I was super afraid of making OCs because my first OC ever was incredibly....just cringe-worthy, like a typical mary sue but after thinking back on her she has a special place in my heart and I want people to hear about her.

Back when I was a kid I was really into Digimon (I still am) and my favorite character was Izzy.

As a stupid dumb five year old I was always like “Why doesn’t Izzy have a girlfriend? Well I better make him one.” And thus Tiny my worst (and best) oc was created

This was the doll for Tiny that I used. She looked exactly like that. I still love how she looks but it didn’t fit at all in the digimon world with a bunch of fifth graders. Sometimes I wonder what her design would have looked like in a digimon style with giant honking moon boots and gloves. I mean her red dress and rapunzel hair is iconic but I always wondered what she would look like.

Her name was Tiny (Pronounced Ti-ni, like Tin the metal) I put a y on the word instead of spelling it like it sounded to make it fancy. Just like what my mom did to my name, and my sister’s name and then my other sister’s name. The Y curse was strong.

Her backstory was an absolute mess. She was a fourth grader who had already graduated college, which unfortunately....Is not that out of place in the digimon universe considering the dub we got about “Willis from America” in the Digimon movie. 

But the rest of Tiny’s backstory was a disaster. You see, Tiny was adopted and she was secretly a mermaid. Don’t ask why. I’m still not sure. But that wasn’t all of her secrets. She had a bad left arm so she couldn’t walk (I’m not....Sure why maybe I thought she couldn’t walk because of the high heels or how her dress was bound? How does a bad left arm mean you can’t walk???) But because she couldn’t walk she had to constantly walk on her hands instead to get around. However because of her bad left arm she couldn’t do that.

So I invented the most impressive acrobatics ever. You see Tiny wasn’t just special, she didn’t just walk on her hands, she walked on her hair! This was amazing, why wasn’t anyone else doing it????

Also did I mention she was secretly blind? She was keeping that secret from everyone too. Obviously.

Now I don’t have any pictures of Tiny’s digimon. I know I drew them a while ago but couldn’t find them, but she had the strongest digimon ever to match her personality. She had applemon who was an in-training digimon that was more powerful than any mega.

Leapordmon was her rookie digimon because I really liked cats. I don’t actually have much of a problem with basing a digimon on a cat. I’d probably do the same today.

Her mega digimon was some powerful angel thing. But powerful digimon always are so that’s not too odd.

I’m not sure how an apple turned into a cat? But I realize now that I clearly kept that idea that apples are cats around because I named my cat Apple.

Anyway let me tell you about the rest of Tiny’s family because I had a whole world for her.

The one on the right is Tiny’s adopted mother who had a bunch of girl children. She was evil. I had to give my oc and evil mother. I had to. The girl on the left is Tiny’s evil sister who continued giving her mother’s orders.

I think the mom’s name was Stinky. You know, so you could tell that she was evil. And her sister’s name was either Smelly or Silver. I can’t remember.

These were four of Tiny’s sisters. I never used them much but I liked their dolls. I can’t remember anything about them except that the green one’s name was Emerald and the yellow one’s name was Gold. Also wild guess? But the one on the left probably liked horses. She just looks like it.

I really liked giving my characters a million sisters at this point in my life it seemed.

This girl was the only other important one. Her name was Diamond. She was popular and trendy and liked fashion. She was Tiny’s older sister and was close to her and the only other girl who got to go to the digital world.

Diamond you see, had a purpose. A very important purpose. It was to be Matt’s girlfriend because I had to have Matt dating a girl so that he didn’t end up with Sora. After all five year old me knew Sora and Tai were meant to be. So Matt had to now have a girlfriend too. 

After all everybody had to be paired off in a straight relationship.

Anyway that was Diamond’s purpose. To be the straight girl with Matt.

But let me tell you about her digimon because it’s a mess (I couldn’t locate pictures of the toy)

This was Diamond’s digimon. I called it “bluemon” I didn’t ever see pokemon or watch pokemon. I didn’t know what this was. But my sister gave me a lugia toy once because she didn’t like it as much as snorlax and it looked like it could be like a digimon. I decided to make it a digimon

In hindsight I find this hilarious and Lugia has become one of my favorite pokemon because of it’s presence in my childhood as a “digimon”.

Bluemon wasn’t very powerful. I mean when I was looking at the toy I didn’t think it was very powerful. And it couldn’t be as powerful as Tiny after all. So lugia never got a chance to shine in my digimon oc universe.

This was the last of Tiny’s sisters and in hindsight she’s the most interesting but I never used her? Her name was Sapphire and because the doll was broken she always was losing her head.

I decided she was undead and just sometimes didn’t have a head at times. No reason. Maybe she’d find it again later. I barely used her or gave her much of a backstory or anything. But she’s clearly the most interesting.

Sorry Sapphire for not properly using you!

Chapter 13

There was a loud banging noise that echoed through the small beach house and only Green seemed to be disturbed by it. He glared over at the still slumbering Red who appeared could sleep through a marching band, though it was unusual for Red not to be the first one to be awake in the morning. Red tended to have a strict schedule for the day and never missed out on training himself and his Pokemon, today it seemed their roles were reversed. For a while, Green hoped the knocking would just go away if he ignored it long enough, but no such luck. Not even pinning a pillow over his head seemed to muffled the sound, so finally the Kanto Champion finally gave up trying to go back to sleep. Annoyed at Red for still managing to be wistfully asleep, he tossed the pillow at him, but it seemed to be ineffective against the sleeping male.

Green rolled out of bed, raking his fingers through his hair in some attempt to tame the wild strands, he'd style it later whenever he was more awake. Right now, he just wanted to deal with that annoying noise as he slipped on his house shoes and pulled on a nice tropical robe to keep him from walking around in his boxers. Muttering a few choice words under his breath, Green made his way down the hall, tracking down the sound towards the front door of the house. Who in Arceus' name would be knocking on his door at... He checked the time on the stove, five in the morning? Growling out under his breath, he unlocked the door and yanked it open in a show of annoyance. He gave his best trademark glare as his hazel eyes landed on none other than the last person he wanted to see at five-fucking-in-the-morning.

Gold.

The kid ( Green would always think of Gold as a kid it didn't matter if the boy was twenty years old by now, he didn't act like it ) rapped his knuckles against Green's face, apparently unaware the door had opened until Green made an indignant noise and swatted his hand away.

"What the hell are you doing here, Gold? Matter of fact, why are you here ruining my beauty sleep!" Snapped Green, he wasn't a morning person and never would be. He could tolerate Gold after at least he had a cup of coffee, not before.

"Whoa! Hey, Green! And boy, you sure do need your beauty sleep with hair like that!" Gold teased back, immune by now of Green's angry nature, or just too optimistic to really be brought down by it. "I just wanted to swing on by since we just arrived!"

"Sorry for the intrusion, Green. I tried to stop him, but... You know how he gets." A voice, smooth and cool as he remembered came from behind Gold. It was no Surprise that Silver would be with Gold, the two were inseparable, good thing too as Silver was level headed, but a tad too serious at times, easily frustrated. They seemed to work well together, even though their personalities differed from Green and Red, he couldn't help but to find similarities within them. It was when Gold had come to challenge him years after Green had become champion that Gold had reminded him of Red... A louder one. But that confidence, that complete trust and faith in his Pokemon. It was all the same.

Green sighed out, no use arguing now since the two were here, he opened the door a little wider to invite them in. "Might as well come in, but don't expect me to cook you two breakfast, I'm not your mom." Gold's mom was definitely a sweetheart, but Green was not into pampering Gold like she did. Gold was more than happy to walk in, wearing a gaudy yellow floral shirt the tourist around here wore. It was had to remind himself that Gold was the Johto Champion, it was only during the heat of battle could one really see the heart of the Champion. Gold made a beeline for the fridge, making himself at home and trying to find something for Breakfast.

Silver entered at a more reserved pace, though the black uniform with a red fringe that he wore was in direct contrast with the Alola vibrancy. Green figured it wouldn't last long in this hot weather, but he had to give Silver props for looking nice. "I even insisted we go get breakfast first, but not even the thought of trying new food could deter him." Silver looked over to Gold, letting out a heavy exhale before brushing a strand of loose, long red hair out of his face. Green studied the shorter boy for a moment, there was less tension in the corners of his eyes which was good.

"So what are you two doing in Alola anyways? Signing up for the Battle Tree?" Green asked curiously as he made his way over to the coffee maker to turn it on, there was no going back to sleep after this.

"We're on our honeymoon!" Gold nearly shouted, making Green wince and dig a pinky into his ear. He looked to Gold and then to Silver, who had his face in one hand.

"Gold, we'd have to be married to be on a honeymoon." Silver sounded a little exasperated by there was some sort of humor in his red eyes. "Well, I guess he's not half wrong."

"I proposed to him," Gold chimed in. "Should've seen his face, Green, it was as red as his hair. It was priceless."

"He proposed to me while I was in the middle of battling him. He's lucky that weavile didn't freeze him solid." Silver moved over to take a seat at the small table, there were only two chairs and Green hadn't thought he'd be receiving visitors here. He was still trying to wrap his mind around the fact that Gold and Silver had just dropped getting engaged so casually at five in the morning while Green was still in his boxers. Gold never really had a thing for tact as the black haired boy was pulling out a jug of orange juice from the ice box, Green had to swat Gold upside the head before Gold could drink straight from the jug.

Before Green could insist on using a glass, one was set gently down on the counter before Gold. Red, like a wrath had at some point entered the kitchen without making a noise, making both Gold and Green jump, combined with a startled noise that Green wasn't proud of. Gold's eyes were wide as he looked up at Red, locking gazes with those unreadable burnished amber eyes. The kitchen fell silent, Gold was stunned for a moment by the stranger who wore am intimidating expression, Gold was normally good at getting a read on people, no matter what walls they hid behind. Green's panic didn't last long as he was the first one into action, moving between Gold and Red.

More importantly, blocking the fact that Red was still in his Pikachu patterned boxer briefs and nothing else.

Green's motion seemed to snap Gold out of his surprise and Green was instantly flooded with a thousand questions. "Hey! Who is that! Green, you didn't tell us that you were here with someone else! I've never seen him before? I thought you only liked girls! Why didn't you tell us that you liked guys too! Oh man, I would've invited you to all the clubs we've gone to. What's his name? Where did you meet him? Come on, Green, spill the beans, man!"

Green felt like he was going to get a headache at this rate, Silver looked just as surprised but seemed polite enough not to dig especially since Gold was doing that enough for the both of them.First his grandfather and now these two? It wasn't going to be long until rumors would start to spread because Gold couldn't keep a secret to save his life. The guy was far too honest, which was a good trait in most cases, just not this one. "Gold, I like you, kid, but please can we discuss this after I've had coffee?"

Gold was about to reply, likely to protest but a glass of orange juice was shoved into his hands. Red had poured him a drink before pointing over to the table in a silent command. Momentarily quelled, but likely not for long, Gold retreated to the table beside Silver. Green rubbed his forehead as the thought of trying to explain this situation was going to be difficult, for he didn't even know what the hell he was doing. The soft press of lips on the corner of his lips drew him back from the downward spiral he had been drawn into. Lifting his hazel eyes to spot Red looking at him. Others might think Red was a detached man, but Green could see the truth behind that gaze.

There was confidence in Green, reassurance that Red would be there if needed, and more importantly, love.

This is my first time writing Gold and Silver so uh... excuse while I get the feel of the characters.

I remember making a post about this before, but something has been bothering me about this. The front desk lady shouldn't need to scan her ribbons becuase they should be on make's record. One thing that makes me think this even more is becuase when Ash enters into the Pokemon league his badges are already on the system, and he doesn't seem to scan them.

So he isn't even busy with gym battles he can watch May on TV. I'm sure it isn't that long of a trip, especially considering the gym is in Hoenn...

So apparently the dorm room is pretty big.

Brock: It says here that in the contest 200 people will be entering and will be able to go to the preliminary rounds, and out of those 200 only sixty-four of them will be able to enter.

Okay, so in the first round the judges have to give you a score out of 0-30, decimals included, meaning they can give up to 300 scores, but all of these people have won five ribbons, and most of them will be getting into the twenty's. Many people will get ties. If a lot of people got a twenty-two, and that was the bottom score for them being able to get into the next round,  then some of the people who got a twenty-two some won’t be able to get into the next round, even though a lot of people with the same score were able to. How would they be able to choose which people with 22 are able to get in? Do they re-watch clips and decide even more skeptical scores like "well this person would get a 22.12 and this person would get a 22.56".

How do they decide this?

Yes 4Kids reuses voice actors a lot, at one point Max is voiced by Charming the Bee. If I had to review Sonic X I would do this same thing "Oh that background character is voice by Ash" and "That woman is Jessie".

Also I feel as if I need to clarify this becuase some people are getting confused... No I am not part of the sonic fandom I just watched Sonic X when I was like 8-10 years old and I mention it sometimes.

There was literally an episode about that and they never said "cheating" once in the entire episode they just implied that she thought that. They tiny kids were so confused and then they watch the episode when they are older and are like "ooooohhhhh".

Then what happens is while May is talking to her mom about Munchlax and how hard it is to feed him, Drew is walking from quite a distance with his Rosellia. He stops walking and Rosellia looks confused at why he has done this. Then Rosellia turns to see what has made her trainer so interested that he stopped walking, and May is talking to her mom about Munchlax.

Watching these episode makes me find so many contestshipping scenes the fandom has forgotten about.

Everybody stops talking and May looks around wondering what has made the Gang so quiet. She turns around to see Drew standing there in the distance.

Last time we saw Drew May only had four ribbons and there was one more contest left before the Grand Festival. In that episode he just gave her that knowledge, he didn't discourage her or verbally encourage her, not directly at least. It the same with the teaching I keep rambling about >May wants to prove to Drew that she is as good at him, that she is an equal. If she knows everything Drew knows, that that makes her an equal. if she gets into the Grand Festival, then she is an equal. Drew encouraged her but he did it in a way that isn't the traditional "i hope you can do it!" and more like "I've already done it so you should be able to" type of thing.

Goddammit if I don't write three more paragraphs it makes no sense.

I should just write a 7 paragragh essay on it in a different post.

Well there is another thing I'd like to say here about this, and It might not be that important but it is something notable. This was originally pointed out to me in one of the posts made by @itstimetodrew (I seem to tag her a lot in these posts).

May's reaction? She is very flustered, like how any normal 10-year-old would be about this, and it fits May's character. Drew's reaction?

He doesn't care, he doesn't get upset. There are a few reasons for this but the reason that @itstimetodrew pointed out is that he has already accepted his feelings for May. Here is the exact quote:

So Harley walks by and sees the crowed of people near the stand, he's  obviously curious what is going on (Also some more proof that Harley is gay).

James says that if she gives him her Espeon then he will train it for her. She accepts and then everybody else just gives their Pokemon to them.

They literally just hand them over.

Even though he has never spoken with Harley and has only been around him for about a minuet, he can tell what is going on, and he does not trust Harley. Drew has been seen watching May many times this episode, just standing there not saying anything. First time he was interested, now he is worried. This is a recurring theme, and I am just more or less shocked that the Contestshipping fandom has almost completely forgot about a lot of these.

The only reason May falls for this is becuase she is too trusting, even when she should know that using only one attack would make her loose she decides to do it anyways becuase the person who has tricked her like... four times now? said that he is sorry, and May is just the all to forgiving sweetheart and that is her downfall.

They go over confront James. James tries to cover himself up then they accidentally reveal themselves, try to fight, fail miserably, and then blast off.

They all go over to the counter and see Norman taking some sort of Pokemon. Caroline easily spots that that isn't Norman and Ash confronts James about not being Norman, James tried to cover themselves up and then when they try to dodge the silver wind they fail and are revealed to be team rocket.

Now they are trying to escape, but then Pikachu uses thunderbolt, all of the Pokemon escape, and Team Rocket blasts off.

This time it is Drew's turn, we only see a small fraction but Drew is shown using Rosellia. He tells it to use Petal dance and it jumps up into the air ad starts spinning rapidly while using petal dance, making the petals around her spin in circles instead of their normal pattern. The audience is amazed and the score he gets is a 95.

WAIT

THERE IS A DIFFERENT POINT SYSTEM???

100 SCORES INSTEAD OF 300. GREAT IDEA FUCKERS.

Wait what if they also include decimals?

Then there is 1000 scores...

Harley sends out Cacturn and it rapid fire spits seeds all over the entire stadium, and this somehow earns Harley an 84.

May's Beautifly exits the Pokeball in the most excellent way, going in front of the sun to make her shine and then making sparkles go everywhere. The beautifly is high above the stadium. May calls for a silver wind, and she flies it towards the direction of the sun, and when the silver wind is no longer seen becuase the light of the sun made it dissapear, a pretty white aura surround the sun, but only for a few moments. Then, after it is gone the sun has a much, much bigger aura and it has the sparkles from earlier.

HEY HALEY YOU SON OF A BITCH THAT SILVER WIND DIDN'T SEEM TO LIMIT MAY YOU FAILED FUCKER!!!

Then May only gets an 88.

She should get higher than the petal dance that was way more appealing.

Well sadly the camera has been taken off of Drew and Harley. May is running over to her friend and her friends are congratulating her about getting through the grand festival.

Harley: Oh stop please I have no change of beating you in the long run!

And so the episode ends, Drew still hates Harley.

-Conclusion-

I feel like even though the contestshipping fandom remembers a few scenes from this episode, they forgot a lot. I pointed some out, but not all of them. I like this episode a lot, and there isn't really anything here that makes me upset.

Now for me to ramble about the actual episode like I've been waiting to this whole review.

Only after a few moments of watching Harley, Drew immediately didn't trust him, later when he heard that he was attempting to make May only use the one attack, he spoke up about how that wouldn't work, and how she should use different thing and that strategy and flexibility are better then just showing off one move. At this, Harley immediately tried to make May follow his plan, and Drew could tell that she was still following what Harley says. Drew keeps worrying, and continues to follow May around. He is genuinely worried, and obviously hates Harley for tricking May like this, and despite Harley's best attempts, he won't change Drew's mind about that.

Drew can see right through Harley, and there is nothing Harley can do to change it.

least favorite: uhh honestly? I don’t dislike any characters really but Fantine kind of annoys me. I think it’s maybe because her fight is some bullshit (FUCK that Mismagius) but something about her rubs me the wrong way. Also when I used to rp in indie I kept calling her Fantina (wait fuck is her name Fantina?) and the Fantine rpers would call me out and I’m like bitch damn her name is hard to remember and looking back I think her name is actually Fantina I’m fucking dead

two characters I love: uhhh Archer and to be a bit less predictable, Faba (though it’s not like that’s unknown thing). Honestly I could have put any of the Rocket Execs in slot one (except for Petrel, he’s cool but not a favorite) but Archer just kinda barely pulls ahead. I just love. how little he is in the game where he’s the main antagonist. This poor man was done wrong.

But his personality is kinda fun, I like how intensely loyal he seems and how like, he’s so formal compared to like everyone else in Team Rocket except for maybe Ariana (and Giovanni but that’s irrelevant since he’s not really in the game lmao). He’s just so charming. Also loving that confidence in battle, showing up to the biggest battle of his life with three Pokemon and only one of them is a threat.

 Also his design is really pleasant to look at. The HGSS art director’s style is so soft and nice looking. Every piece he drew is so nice to look at and their designs are just. Real Good. I love Archer he’s so cute and smart and I believe in him

Also I love Faba just because he’s so goddamn dramatic. He kind of reminds me of a more incompetent Scar from the Lion King (take that with a grain of salt, I haven’t seen that film in a long time). Flair for the dramatic, ambitious, you know. Also the way he whines about kids is so fuckin funny to me. What a bitter man. He can’t take that kids are smarter than him.

He’s also so shitty and egotistical to people in such a blatant, blunt way and that’s kind of fun. I wish we could have seen him interact with Lusamine more. If at all I can’t remember if they ever interact, actually. Actually his personality would be so much fun with lots of characters he never ever interacted with, what a shame. Also loving the big ass bean glasses look. He’s the only one who can pull it off

Punch Out

least favorite: Bear Hugger. His voice acting is irritating to me, personally. The guy does a great job but he’s just an annoying character to me. The only exception is in the Contender intermission where he just deadpan goes “I like raw fish” because I’d be a liar if I said I didn’t fucking lose it when I heard that line.

two characters I love: It’s hard because there’s a lot I love for different reasons :U Glass Joe has to be one of course, it’s just not fair not to include him, and I guess because I don’t talk about him much/post much content of him (there’s none really lol) I’ll talk about Gabby Jay too.

I mean like how the fuck can I not love Joe. He’s so good and his voice is. So cute. Also in older games it’s obvious he straight up doesn’t want to box or anything and hates being there but in Wii Punch Out he just. He really wants to win, he’s just Fucking Awful and I love that???

Also I love that he actually got tough in Title Defense like he really tried to improve and He Did It because he kicked my ass like 10 times and no matter how many times I fight him I usually still lose. That fucking delayed right hook murders me every time, I still can’t get the timing down. Good Job Joe. Though To Be Fair in the (S)NES Punch Out universe it’s alleged that his one win was against the heavyweight champ of the Super WVBA, Nick Bruiser so wow he Is Talented Though It’s Totally Implied It Was An Accident which how????? Also if the 1 in his 1-99 was Bruiser, then why does Bruiser have a 42-0 record that doesn’t make sense but conspiracies aside

It’s cute how he became a boxing instructor after NES Punch Out like I guess he thought he’d have better luck in teaching? I mean he must have been doing something right since Gabby Jay beat him and made it big time. Reach for the stars Joe you’re doing a great job

ANYWAYS Mr. Gabriel Jay, underrated boxer of the year am I right friends? Seriously this poor guy. Totally overshadowed. He only appeared in SNES Super pretty much as Glass Joe 2: Electric Boogaloo (except old) being a straight up successor to the dude as a student of him, and he just didn’t have the same charisma that Joe had. Joe has like, this kind of charm about him. His brand of suck is special. I think it’s also because NES Punch Out is so classic, SO classic, that there’s no way Jay could measure up. But at least I love him right???

I don’t know how that paragraph amounted to mostly shittalking poor Gabby but w/e. I think Gabby Jay has a cute personality. I like how he’s so determined to win?? Like opposed to NES!Joe who fucking hates being there, Gabby wants to win so goddamn bad. He’s so ambitious, and like he doesn’t seem deterred by being the absolute fucking worst at boxing, he’s just there to have a good time. Like also I love his backstory, it’s just like “he was a waiter, then he randomly decided he was gonna be a boxer in his late 50s” like damn Gabby, what an ambitious old dude.

Also I love that he says “yay” all the fucking time it’s adorable. If he ever appears in another Punch Out game (unlikely, to both Jay appearing and there being another game) he better fucking say yay a bunch or I’m going to be really mad. Keep going Mr. Jay you’ll win one day

Do any of your fan kids have any physical disabilities?

I am inadvertently a horribly ableist person because it never even occurred to me to have some of them born that way. What the hell is wrong with me? I sincerely apologize for this oversight. This is something to definitely consider if I get around to making Alola kids. 

There are characters with physical disabilities that were gained from accidents and incidents later on in life, both amongst the parents and the kids though. Not that it makes up for it. 

I have some examples below the cut.

Drew needs a cane and walks with a visible limp. He has since the events of WTWE (which did happen in fankid timeline but the actual stories after that may not turn into the fankid timeline...so like an AU of an AU? Don’t ask.)

Many of the nerves in Tracey’s arm were damaged, and from the same injury, his skin is discoloured. 

Though it’s cosmetic and not a disability, Dawn’s hands are horribly scarred (hence why she wears gloves while on the job).

Asher, one of my ‘big three’, actually ends up deaf in one ear due to an accident while on the job (he becomes a pokemon doctor that goes into disaster/war zone areas). 

Amara, who is Ana’s love interest, is involved in a car accident that leaves her in a wheelchair. 

There is definitely one other character, but that one I’m going to keep to myself for now cause...well...that’s one you most likely will get to see played out in fanfiction if I can keep writing at the pace I am and don’t get writer’s block. Here’s hoping.

Tell us about how you got into art.

WOW this got super long, I’m so sorry!

I was given a metric assload of coloring books, glitter crayons and stuff by my grandma when I was a kid. I don’t remember ever starting, it’s just always been like that. Also I really liked Pokemon, like REALLY liked it, like any other small child in the 90s. So I had some established characters to draw, like pikachu and eevee! Those were my fave to draw. Any I just never really stopped.

Luckily my elementary school still had an “art class” back then. For one whole year it had an actual room, but then it was just a little cart pushed around. Nothing really groundbreaking, but since it was fun and I liked it (and was proud of being “better” than everyone else there) it just kept going.  it was really just a bunch of kids scribbling stuff with very little direction.

My art tteacher gave me a book about drawing things realistically. I really read that book and took it all to heart. Except for the grid thing, I thought the grid thing was stupid because all it let you do was COPY a photo, and I didn’t WANT to COPY! I wanted to make my OWN stuff!

I dont remember, but I think it was in first grade, maybe before that? Maybe after idk but it was really early on. I wrote stories about a wolf who’s name was Fear, and she was a pup when the forest she lived in burned down, and she got separated from her pack. So she ended up having to traverse the desert and run into other packs who wanted to use her in different ways (usually as a disposable labor or to watch the pack’s pups while their mothers went to have fun and stuff like that) and she would have to fight them to keep going. And so on. It was pretty in depth but I never actually got them on paper except for some shitty doodles.

Here’s a quick rendition of her from memory I made just now, using some free lineart. It’s probably missing some aspects of her design, but the main thing was that she is orange, had the dark stripe, and a white tail-tip. I know, looks like a fox. Of course my actually drawings of her were crude and done in crayon.

I really liked wolves. A Lot. So Much. I guess that’s probs why I’m a furry?

Similar to that time, like at the same time as Fear, I was makign my own TCG based on my own pet-sim website (heavily inspired by neopets and one gem-creature that i think was on a yugioh card). I made a “functioning” website in front page, it really just made me happy to click through on the previews and do pointless stuff that didn’t actually DO anything because it wasn’t a live website. But it was cool and fun. I made a lot of websites on front page lol. A LOT.

I made custom buttons and graphics in Paint and just came up with all this shit to “do” and ran with it. I also made some sites that were like, just really bad personal homepages. But I was also like somewhere between the ages of 7-11, I don’t remember what age specifically? BUT anyway frontpage is really fun to work with and I basically know all of my HTML and CSS from that and neopets.

What’s really funny is… I never had a home computer! I didn’t have computer until like 2009, and we still didn’t have internet at home until like 2013-ish. I might be off on those dates a bit but you can’t expect me to remember specifics when I struggle to remember things that happened yesterday lol.

Oh yeah I found Jay Naylor art and a comic called Good Cheese and accidentally got into furries bc of it, and yeah some of it was porn and my POOR LITTLE CHILD BRAIN COULDNT HANDLE bahahahahaa im fucking kidding, it WAS porn but it’s cool and I don’t think it really damaged me. I thought it was ~wrong~ but I still printed that shit out in black and white after school to take home with me oops.

Like RIGHT after that I got into Redwall and Serenity Rose. Redwall has this huge roleplay community online, it was really cool. i never had the guts to RP tho, so I just looked at pretty art and tried to emulate it. I made my own OCs and stuff. With Sera Rose I entered my first foray into online forums, the Bubblegum Noir. Where I posted doodles I did. I was also a really fucking obnoxious teenager lol. This was middle school bee tee dubbs.

Sometime in middle school I think my focus shifted a bit from my self-driven and pokemon fuel’d vigor for creating things. I certainly still drew fanart, I got really into anime (kinda, i read loveless and then was smitten by cat eared boys forever after that lol) and started drawing Neopets related stuff by then. (Yes I still plaid neopets in middle school, hush.) I think I scanned some art in to enter into the beauty contest.

Uhm in middle school I was introduced to all sorts of New Cool Tools like BRUSH PENS and stuff! WOAH! But yeah I actually tried to do shit for realsies. I did stain glass cutting and silk screen printing after school. Neato!

In middle school I also had a “running” comic I called My Life Unlimited, and it was like the bizzare megatokyo-esque thing where I drew me and my friends having everyday normal lives. Except my cat was Literally Satan. No I mean like actually, Satan was on vacation in the Real World disguised as a cat, but OFC I found him and was like oh no a poor lost kitty, let me put a collar on him and take him home n feed him. Which, as we all know collars = ownership and eating the food of the land etc etc. Which lead to me owning Satan, literally, who could shift inbetween cat form and human-ish-looking form. Also he couldn’t open the peanut butter once and it became a running joke.

There was this whole plot with angels and demons or whatever and the demons were the good guys and angels were generally manipulative assholes and uhhhh yeah. It was dorky but I liked it. Still kinda do. I dated a “fox demon” in the comic, he had a scythe, it was cool. B3

And uh, I just drew a lot of fanart, fancharacters. My own comic stuff. 

And then I dropped all of it in high school, where I only drew furries and school assigned artwork. It was neato, the only thing I learned was about negitive space, lineart quality and VAGUELY hue and value (but not terribly in detail, and it was muddy and mucky). I made an FA account, found artists like CorrieZodori and ForcesWerwolf, and joined the Hungry Pokemon Forums (as a minor and completely ignoring ALL the rules about being 18 or over.) WHOOPS guess I was into vore. No wait, I joined HPF in… middle school I think? IDEK.

Anyway I started drawing MORE furries and more maws. And back then I was like “only oral vore, mawshots or pre-vore, no stomach internals and NO DIGESTION” but look at me now mom, if it aint Dying I ain’t Buying.

Lots of highschool is a blue of bad decisions and general fuckery. I had a cool AP art history class tho. I don’t remember jack fucking shit, sorry.

And uh… that’s where I am now???

Now I’m actually taking art seriously, and with internet access I can look for tutorials and references no problem. I’ve got a few good art books, but mainly I reccomend one by James Gurney called Light and Color for the Realist Painter. Or whatever, I cannot be assed to google it rn I’ve been typing for like an hour. Maybe two… idek. Also some good youtube chanels, sinix design, sycra, istabrak, bobby chiu and ahmed aldoori, really recommend those for learning!

Anyway I’m more aware of my shortcomings, and working hard to fix them, all while still ejoying doing what I do. Although lately I feel like I’ve gone backwards in quality and launched myself into more stress and difficulty. And I certainly do much less, and finish things less also. I wonder why… :T
