IF I NEED TO PROVE TO ANYONE TYPING IN CAPS IS MY PREFERENCE FOR SOME REASON I HAVE SEVERAL REASONS.
IT REFLECTS MY NONHUMAN IDENTITY. ROBOTIC-ESQUE, ALIEN-ESQUE, GENERALLY STRANGE & UNUSUAL, SOMETHING NOT HUMAN
ITS A TEXTUAL WAY TO RECREATE MY FLAT AFFECT. I DO NOT LIKE IT WHEN MY TEXTS ARE READ WITH TONE SO ELIMINATING CAPITALIZATION & THE LACK THEREOF REMOVES AN ELEMENT OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH INTERPRETATIONS OF TONE.
IT REFLECTS MY OUTWARD IDENTITY. I LIKE TO DRESS COLORFUL ON BLACK, "SCENECORE" TYPE OUTFITS, SCENECORE CULTURE INVOLVES A LOT OF MANGLING OF TEXT & THIS IS A WAY TO DO THAT WITHOUT MAKING IT TOTALLY UNREADABLE. 1 W0N7 M4K3 4NY0N3 R34D 7H15 5H17 & IT GOES AGAINST MY PUSH FOR ACCESSIBILITY

The Works
synopsis: as much as we love him, eddie is a dumb teenage boy who would be so nervous and have no clue as to what someone does when in a relationship, but he tries and we love that. however,,, you want more
eddie is all rough around the edges
doesn’t really ever slow down to think about what he’s doing
he shows he loves you
through his own eddie way
which you love
his arm around your shoulder weighing you down in the hallways as he asks if you caught the svengoolie rerun on tv last night and relaying you the plot if not
passing you more pieces of texas toast as you sit sandwiched in between him and his uncle while the tv dinners he made sit steaming before you
so when you ask for more romance
it kind of stuns him
like not that you don’t love when he hugs you from behind
as you make him coffee
his soft hair tickling your shoulder as he watches you swirl the spoon around the mug
you always make it the perfect color
his grin resting against your cheek
you love the spontaneous date nights that are just hanging out in Jeff’s garage
listening to the same corroded coffin set over and over again bc
babe every time i play this riff, i think of you
you just want something a little more gentle … and … deliberate
so he racks his brains of ways to woo you again
not that his natural charm isn’t enough you reassure him
but now he has to prove to you that he can step it up
he first starts out by cleaning his van
yes that means a deep clean
vacuuming out in between the seats, and hanging a fresh tree from his rear view mirror
he also makes you a necklace
he takes the guitar pick he’s been using recently and puts it on a chain he finds on his dresser
taking the electric drill out of his uncle’s toolbox and drilling a small hole at the end
running his fingers over the smooth plastic
a smile coming to his face as he follows the directions of how to make a box out of newspaper
and he rents your favorite movie
from family video of course
snickers from robyn and steven don’t phase him as he walks up to the counter with your favorite chick flick and candy
counting quarters from his center console and the couple of singles he has left over after filling the van up to get you the share size pack
more romantic if we share the one, you know hands meeting and all that
he thinks as he squints between the two packages
the next stop is your house
a deep breath in through his nose and out through his mouth
a technique you taught him if he ever needs to take a minute and slow down
his hands are as sweaty as your first date as he walks up the steps to your house
a small bouquet of wildflowers in one clenched palm as he jogs to your door
a rapping knock and a clearing throat can be heard
as you sit waiting for your amazing boyfriend
a small grin breaks out on both your faces as you open the door and see his outstretched hand offering you flowers as he holds the screen door open
i saw them and thought of you
and even though its cheesy, you know he really means it
because eddie munson is nothing if not authentic
as he takes your hand and opens the passenger car seat for you, telling you about his plan to watch your favorite movie projected on the other side of his trailer, the bed of his van being decorated with an assortment of pillows and blankets occupying the back
as you pull in to the trailer park, and he puts his hand on your seat to back into his parking spot
his eyes meet yours and show how nervous he his for tonight
you give him a reassuring smile as you kiss his wrist
i’m so excited
you say as he finally puts the car into park
the movie plays on as you lay legs intertwined and frogs croaking in the night air
i’m so happy i’m with you eddie
he grins as you lay your head on his chest but feel him shift and feel for something in his back pocket
sorry its a little squished
but its so eddie, you take off the top of the folded up box, made harder by the accidental crinkles around the edges of each corner
your eyes widen as they see the necklace inside, and hear the soft rustling of the chain against the ink stained paper
can i?
he asks as you grin and turn around, not even warranting him with a reply
after fastening it around your neck and letting the glass fall against the back of your neck
he places a kiss there as he runs his hands down your arms
how did i get so lucky
you sigh as you turn your head for a kiss
oh you must know someone up there
he muses as you pull apart and his lips chase yours

karasuno first years out late w/ their s/o
request: Could you write how 1st years (yachi too pls🥺) going out with their s/o late at night ?
a/n: this is such a cute little concept i --
[KARASUNO FIRST YEARS OUT LATE AT NIGHT WITH THEIR S/O]
-tsukishima, kageyama, yamaguchi, hinata, yachi
tsukishima kei.
not gonna lie, he’s often awake late at night. he’s a night owl and doesn’t mind sacrificing his sleep to watch some youtube videos
occasionally, he even goes out late at night, slipping past his parents and brother’s room and softly closing the front door with his headphones covering his ears and his hands stuffed in his pockets
so when you text him at 3am and ask if he can go out with you to the convenience store, he agrees in seconds to meet you at the halfway point between your houses
wastes no time in putting on his sneakers and a hoodie; he wants to get there quickly so that you aren’t left out by yourself
tsukishima knows there’s creeps out there, which is exactly why he jogs to the halfway point and is relieved when he’s the first one there
as soon as he sees you in the distance he fast walks to catch up to you, and slips his hand into yours
he totally brings bluetooth earbuds so that you two can listen to the same music instead of his wired headphones <3 uwu
is always on the lookout for any weirdos, and if he spots someone eyeing you up he shoots them the nastiest glare
eventually wraps his arms around your shoulder while your hand is sitll in his and its that cute little thing where your arms is across your chest holding his hand </3
pays for whatever you get at the store, ignores your complaints and tells you to shut up when you continue to insist on paying
“im trying to be a good boyfriend for once, for the love of god PLEASE shut up”
secretly takes a candid photo of you at some point in the night and sets it as his home screen -- NOT his lock screen, and when you see it he outright denies having taken it
tsukishima: you told me to take a picture of you
you: stop lying i know you’re a closet hopeless romantic
convinces you to stop at the park and eat the snacks you both got there, music still humming in your ears as the moonlight washes you both in cool tones
tsukishima when he’s alone with you is so soft -- he literally kisses your hand and temple and mutters very softly “love you”
all in all, tsukishima kei is the perfect night-owl boyfriend to go on snack-runs with
kageyama tobio.
"why would i go out right now. do you know what time it is. i have practice in the morning”
kags really out here kinda hurtin’ your feelin’s ngl boy doesn’t understand the vibes LOL
honestly you probably woke him up, he’s asleep at like ten every night (even tho he still has homework to do he just flat-out ignores it LOL)
only agrees to go out walking with you because you said he could bring his volleyball and you’d toss a few for him....and also because he’s a little worried because it’s so dark out
doesn’t walk with you to the park but meets you there LOL
he deadass has his wholeass duffel bad with the ball, two waterbottles, two towelettes, volleyball sneakers and everything
“you know,,,,we’re not playing a game, right, tobio?”
“yeah???? and??? what’s your point”
acts nonchalant but is totally having fun and is lowkey glad you asked him to go out so late because it’s cool out, there’s no one to bother him, and you just look...really good under the stars
he’s not a cheesy person but...god you just take his breath away sometimes. not that he’ll ever say that though
you ask to take a break like thirty minutes in because you are LITERALLY dying meanwhile he hasn’t even broken a sweat (”you’re already tired? maybe you should workout more” “shut UP kageyama”)
you both sit on the bench, and you’re lowkey waiting for him to reach for your hand but they’re just folded in his lap as he stares out in the nothingness of night
kageyama can’t take a hint. we know this. he’s incapable of knowing what you want unless you flat out tell him; so you have to be a very honest person
he doesn’t even really initiate skinship, not because he doesn’t want to, but just because it never really crosses his mind
plus he doesn’t feel the need to constantly show affection because he thinks it’s obvious that he likes you
despite this, he is good at spotting weird people, and he’s pretty protective of you, so you’re completely safe with him. trust him, he’ll keep you safe
all in all, have patience and stamina because kags will play volleyball with you until you pass out. also, he loves you
yamaguchi tadashi.
is in bed by 11pm but doesn’t actually go to sleep until two am because he’s scrolling through tiktok on his phone
sees your text about wanting to go out for a late night walk and maybe go through the little forest near your house and automatically sends a text that says “ill meet you at your window! can you pack some snacks? :)”
he walks all the way to your house, even if it’s more convenient to meet halfway because he wants to protect you! he’s not the strongest nor is he the most intimidating, so all he really has to offer is his presence
despite not being strong nor scary, yams literally has eagle eye. you can’t tell me that he can’t read people in a heartbeat -- he’s extremely perceptive
also texts you to not bring a jacket because he’s bringing on of his own for you !!! so sweet what the hell
he waits at your front door and when you step out he automatically pushes his volleyball jacket into your hands and he takes the bag of snacks from you and sticks out one of his hands UGH such a gentleman
lets you ramble about anything and stares at your side profile as he listens
joins in with a few quips here and there but ultimately is pretty quite and lets you speak or lets the silence cozy into the conversation
sees that there’s a guy sitting on a bench up the road and he switches places with you so that you’re further away from the stranger
also wraps a protective hand around your waist until you both are past the random dude but yams will glance behind yall every once in a while
when you two reach the mini forest he ends up taking the lead claiming that he knows a good spot
and damn, he’s right
it’s a little clearing that is illuminated solely by the moonlight and he sets the bag of snacks down beside him before sitting down himself, apologizing for not bringing a blanket that you two could sit on
pats the spot next to him so that you sit right beside him and he leans back with his hand on yours ONGMIRG
is the super cheesy type and tells you that you look really pretty and that,,,he kind of wants to kiss you
you: *experiencing heart palpitations* and you did this for what.
yamaguchi: ...because i love you?
you: *K.O*
all in all, yamaguchi is the boyfriend that completely indulges your late-night escapades <3
hinata shoyo.
is either completely fast asleep and doesn’t see your text or was awake and not planning to sleep for the next five hours, no in-between
but if he’s awake and sees your text, he agrees right away and asks where you want to meet up and what time because homeboy probably has to bike to get there AgAGAGAGA
literally doesn’t even show up in sneakers. he’s wearing sandals and shorts with a short sleeve top
“i came in my pjs”
“i see that.”
asks if you two can bike around instead because he doesn’t want to have to wheel his bike around for like an hour
he tells you to hold on tight because the bike was built for one person, and when you press against his back his warmth is literally so,,,comforting
has no sense of awareness and will scream going down a hill in the middle of a neighborhood, no fucks given
so, no, he doesn’t notice any weriod people even if there are some around
you always end up running into some weird people and you get new interesting stories every other day because let’s be honest hinata is a magnet for crazy shit and crazy people (usually crackheads)
you both just ride around as he talks about his day, usually his sister always comes up in the conversation( “she asked me to marry you the other day” “doirhgAEROIHFGRE SHOYO WHAT” “what? i told her i would. i keep my promises!”)
after like thirty minutes he begs for a break and you stop at a little 24/7 ice cream store that is run by the sweetest elderly couple
you share a sundae because you don’t want to eat too much this late at night
he plops on the bench right outside the store with his bike leaning against the metal handles, and h snuggles up to you and watches you scroll on your phone
he talks a little here and there, but for the most part, he goes quiet, and it’s during this time where you’re unaware of his gaze that he just takes his time drinking in your features in the yellow light of the lamppost
he can’t read the mood most times, but this time he does, and he stays quiet, and he thinks to himself
that he really will marry you one day
all in all, hinata gives you the impulsive young teenage experience of late night bike rides while eating his fair share of ice cream
yachi hitoka.
another either or, except this time she’s either fast asleep or stressing over homework and the nine tests she has the next day
when you ask if she can go on a walk with you she’s hesitant because she doesn’t want to get in trouble with her mom and she’s a total goody goody and terrified of doing anything reckless; but then she remembers that her mom was on a business trip and so she, very cautiously, says yes
you: good. i’m outside your door btw
yachi: i never had a choice did i
you have to meet her at her house because she’s way too scared to walk by herself at night; she might even make you factime her as you commute because she’s worried for you
jumps at every little thing, even the crows cawing make her shit herself
instictively grabs onto your sleeve and nervously look around the entire time, to the point where she doesn’t hear what you say
so you offer to go to a little cafe that’s still open and right away she nods
she’s so adorable, she bows really deeply when you two walk into the store and apologizes for it being so late
and finally, because you two are safe, she’s calm and smiling as she sips at her strawberry smoothie
awkwardly and very shyly reaches out for your hand on the table and gently lays her palm on yours
canon: yachi totally has freckles and you can’t convince me otherwise
her face is red and her freckles are just on display you can’t help but coo at her and tuck some hair behind her ear because god could she get any cuter?
you two end up staying for like a hour and a half and very shyly she asks if you could walk her home
and this time on the walk she’s not overly cautious and seems to enjoy the nighttime breeze and your hand softly clasping hers
does that cute thing where she lays her head on your shoulder or arm while you both are walking and looks up at you through her eyelashes and asks if you could give her a kiss on the cheek </3
you: stop. please. im going to die.
when you’re at her door she literally just stands there awkwardly for a few seconds before tilting her head upwards and pressing her lips to yours and then promptly running inside
video calls you three seconds afterwards to make sure you get home safely
all in all, you might need to be the impulsive one, but yachi enjoys spending late night time with you more than she admits. also please kiss her thanks

Sterek Fic Recs Part 3
[You can find the first two lists here: Fluffy Sterek Recs & Sterek Fic Recs. Also here's a special fic, check it out]
First off, thank you all for a 100 followers!! As of September 7, 2021 you've made me feel really, really good about my obsession with two oblivious idiots (with sprinkles of the hale pack and other fandoms), and this is my way of thanking you ♥️
If you're on PC, you can see that there is a page dedicated solely to fic recs, which caters to other ships & fandoms too. So don't feel left out if you're looking for something other than Sterek!
Without further ado, let's get to it then!
an awful curse
Isaac is asleep in a chair. The angle of his neck makes Derek wince in sympathy.
"Isaac," Derek says.
Isaac snaps awake immediately.
"You're-"
"Where's Stiles?"
"Stiles?" Isaac asks.
Jesus. It's not like they know more than one.

Throw Away The Key
Stiles knew it was stupid to go to the hunters’ headquarters all by himself, so when he finds himself caught, he can really only blame himself.
It shouldn't surprise Stiles when the situation quickly goes from bad to worse as the hunters throw him to a feral werewolf waiting to tear him apart.
Sucks that it's Derek, though.

Whatever Happened Last Night, Why Did Glitter Have to Be Involved?
Derek rolled out of bed in search of his phone - quickly finding it in the pair of jeans that had evidently been tossed aside haphazardly on the way to the bed. Seeing the pants sparked flashes of memories - wolfsbane-laced alcohol, loud music, multicolored lights.
Peter’s new supernatural-friendly club - the pack had gone to the opening night party.
He unlocked his phone and opened the pack group chat, which Erica had affectionately named ‘Moon Sluts’.
>>Derek: What the fuck happened last night
[or: Derek wakes up with three things on his mind: he feels like he was punched by a troll, his mate is missing, and there's glitter covering his bed. Oh, and the pack group chat is mildly helpful]

Prompt #159 - “Also, my bed has glitter in it for reasons I do not recall.”

Good to Eat
So if Stiles married Derek Hale, he could become Jewish too? Perfect. It was settled. Stiles gleefully shoveled a forkful of cheesy shells into his mouth.
"Uh oh. I know that look.” Claudia shook her head.
"Don’t worry, Mom, ” Stiles said, reaching for his plastic Batman cup.
"I’ve got a plan.”
"Good luck, Derek Hale,” his mother muttered.

"So what caused my hearing and sense of smell to dull?"
Deaton's brow furrowed, all amusement vanishing from his face. "What do you mean?"
Derek snapped, letting loose all of his anger and fear at the man before him. "I mean I can't hear your heartbeat or the cars down below or the birds in the attic! I can't smell the flowers in Mrs. Everett's apartment, I can't smell the rotting burger in the fridge that Isaac left in there a month ago, I can't smell or hear anything like I normally can!" Deaton mouth was pressed into a thin line. "Can you explain that?!"

Oblivious Misadventures, and Other Such Tales
Going to college was exciting and new, a chance for new friends and a fresh start, and the best part was, there was a supernatural fraternity on campus, meaning Scott finally had the freedom to be himself.
Then he met the resident human who came with a stalker alpha. What was the point of a supernatural fraternity if he still had to pretend to be human. And seriously, did Stiles ever fall asleep somewhere normal?

Call Me (Cliché)
When the sheriff's sister ends up in a wheelchair for the duration of summer, Stiles' dreams of three months full of pack bonding, late-night video games and bro-time with Scott come crashing down. He's temporarily relocated to Redford, a three hour drive away, and he can already tell he won't be getting many visitors.
Sure the pack will forget about him while he's gone, Stiles is determined to make the most of his summer of isolation, training his body and mind - and his magic - so he can come back with a bang, and maybe catch a certain Sourwolf's eye.
Then Derek shows up at his window one night with a flimsy excuse about needing research done. Suddenly, his summer away is looking a whole lot more interesting.

What's a Secret Identity?
Stiles sipped at a mug of coffee, absently watching the news play in the break room. Because of course a news station couldn't play anything other than its own content, even in the one part of the office that was supposed to be a safe space from work. His interview with Superman was making a rerun and Stiles glanced at Derek before commenting absently, “I’d totally let Superman fuck me.”
Derek, who had been in the middle of a swig of coffee, choked violently, “That’s not something I needed to know at nine in the morning, Stiles.”
Stiles raised an eyebrow. “What time would you prefer I tell you about all of the things I would let Superman do to my body?”

i see that you've come so far [just like them old stars]
But her big brother’s unwillingness to touch anyone, like he thinks he doesn’t deserve it isn’t the only thing she notices. She also notices how Stiles doesn’t touch him.
Everyone reaches for Derek in some form or another, but Stiles- Stiles is something different altogether because he reaches for Derek but he never makes contact.
He’ll be trying to shimmy past Derek and instead of putting a hand on his arm like most of them do, he’ll reach out with a hand and stop it scant centimeters away from Derek’s skin.
Or they’ll be walking alongside each other and Stiles will hover a hand on Derek’s lower back.
It’s both fascinating and tragic to watch, like NASA lost control of one of their robots and instead of it landing on the moon it’s fated to gravitate around it.

Déjà Vu
There’s a shop in Beacon Hills that no one knows anything about except that the mysterious proprietor, a witch in whispered circles, knows what you need before you do and that the things given are always just what you need.
Derek, lost after a breakup, heads into the shop to see if he can find something to help him forget his ex. The witch gives him a potion to drink, and when Derek wakes up, he finds he’s sixteen again and there’s a new student at his school, Stiles Stilinski.
Everything is familiar and yet not, and Derek finds he’s strangely drawn to Stiles in a way that is entirely supernatural.

The months following Allison's death have passed Stiles by in a haze of monotony. He sleepwalks through days that seem to lose their color, an unwilling passenger in a body he no longer trusts. Eventually, he thinks, he'll just fade away. He isn't sure anyone would notice. Then, during a spur of the moment grocery run, he stumbles upon Derek Hale attempting to console a lost child, and for the first time in recent memory the world doesn't seem so awful.
He's not sure what he'd been expecting when he eventually convinces Derek to move into the Stilinski's spare bedroom, but a newfound passion for weeding and topsoil certainly isn't it.

What You And I Would Feel Like Chapter 1
The blaring of an alarm dragged Sasha from slumber as the teen groaned from her blanket cocoon, blindly reaching for her phone to shut it off. Sweet silence filled the room once more as she slowly got her bearings and checked the date on the screen. Right, the first day of school again.
Okay, Sasha, you can do this. One...two...three go!
Sasha flung off the covers as she sat up and swung her legs over the side of the bed, feet hitting the carpeted floor. She quickly got up before her bed could pull her back into its comfortable embrace and headed off to take a shower. Once clean and dressed in uniform, Sasha walked over to her vanity and fished a scrunchie and a pink woven bracelet from one of the drawers.
As Sasha secured her hair into its signature ponytail her gaze swept over the mirror until it landed on a picture tapped to it. The picture was taken from their beach day last month. The trio was sitting on beach blankets, Marcy had her arms wrapped around their shoulders, and Anne was leaning against her with a cheesy grin on her face. Sasha felt a smile tugging at her lips. What dorks.
My dorks.
Grabbing her backpack, house keys, and phone Sasha headed off down the stairs, making her way towards the front door. As she reached for the doorknob-
“Sasha.”
Sasha took a deep breath and slowly turned around to face her mother. Janis Waybright stood by the living room entrance already dressed for work. Though Sasha had seen her mother smile before it never quite reached her eyes and today was no different.
“Leaving so soon?” Janis inquired as she crossed the room, heels clicking against tile.
Sasha winced. “Yeah, I’m supposed to meet up with Anne and Marcy before class starts.”
“Right, Anne and Marcy. How are they? I haven’t spoken to Mei in a while.”
You only talk to them when you can help each other’s businesses. But she didn’t say that, unfortunately.
Instead Sasha said, “They’ve been good.”
Silence. Silence filled the room, the only sound coming from the grandfather clock in the living room and cars driving by. Sasha wondered if there was a point to this until her mother spoke again.
“I’ve wanted to talk to you about them, actually. Your father and I are happy you’ve found good people to surround yourself with.” Janis began as she wandered towards the window, watching the people walk past their gate. “But...we are worried you’ve gotten .
You know people talk. And there are some things we don’t want people to talk about, especially if it will tarnish the family name.” Calculating cobalt eyes glanced at her. “Don’t you agree?”
A pit started to form in Sasha’s stomach which slowly started to form into a burning rage. She could talk badly about Sasha all she wanted, she was used to it, but pulling Marcy and Anne into this, threatening her relationship with them was going too far. She wanted to yell but the need to get out, to find her girls was stronger.
“Yes, mother.” Sasha grits out before finally tugging open the front door and letting it slam behind her on the way out.
--
The walk to school was a blur. Thoughts of what her mother said swirled inside her head and it didn’t make her feel any better. Her mother didn’t get it, she never did and honestly, she probably didn’t want to.
Soon the high school came into view and Sasha quickly crossed the street, heading into the entryway. Other kids passed by whether alone or in groups, walking or riding bicycles. Sasha looked towards the bike racks and felt the fury in her gut finally start to fade when she saw them.
“Anne! Marcy!”
Anne and Marcy looked up from the former’s phone and grins formed on their faces when they saw her. Sasha saw Marcy say something before bolting towards her with Anne calling out, “Hey, no fair!” and chased after her.
Marcy got to her first and excitedly threw her arms around the blond. “Sash! I missed you!”
“We just saw each other last week, Marsh.” Sasha laughed as she returned the hug.
“A week is too long, Sasha.”
“I think I've bored her with all the cat videos,” Anne replied when she reached them.
Marcy gasped as she pulled away from Sasha. “I could never be bored of cat videos! Have you seen their toe beans?”
Anne snickered at that then turned to Sasha and opened her arms, the blonde gladly welcoming the tight embrace.
When the two separated Marcy slid between them and linked their hands, pulling them towards the school. They weaved through the crowded halls, discussing which classes they had together. Unfortunately, it seemed today hated her because they only had lunch and the last two classes together. Which wasn’t so bad but thankfully tomorrow looked much more promising.
The first two classes went by in a blur. English and Math was not her strong suit. Soon Sasha was walking into Home Room and took a seat closest to the door for a quick escape. The Home Room teacher introduced herself, they listened to the morning announcements, and Sasha spent the rest of the time scrolling through her phone. That is until someone took the seat beside her.
”Sasha.”
Sasha kept scrolling. “Brianna.”
”I love the bracelet! Where’d you get it?”
Her gaze flickered to said bracelet on her wrist before landing back on the screen. “Anne made it for me. Marcy got one too.”
“Aw, that’s sweet of her. You think Anne would make me one if I asked?”
Sasha seemed to be staring at this cute puppy photo for an eternity before she finally spoke. “Is there a reason you came over here, Rochana?”
Brianna’s giggle finally tore Sasha’s eyes from her phone screen to the other girl who had her chin propped up on one hand and a twinkle in her eyes. Her long black hair reached the small of her back now, a few strands thrown over one shoulder.
“Is that jealousy I see? Careful, Waybright,” Brianna leered, “green isn’t a good look on you. It’s too bad, though. I wanted to run this idea by you.”
“What idea?”
Brianna grinned. “To ask Anne or Marcy out, of course!”
It suddenly felt like she was doused in ice water. What?
Brianna goes on seemingly without a care in the world. “Anne is very kind-hearted to everyone she meets and very fit. Marcy is wicked smart and is pretty cute for a nerd
“So I thought why not give them a chance! Besides-” Brianna’s grin formed into a smirk. “It’s not like you guys are dating or anything. I don’t see a problem, do you?”
Before Sasha could retort the bell rang, Brianna flashing the blond a wink before getting up and sauntered out into the steadily crowding halls. As the other kids filed out of the room Sasha couldn’t stop thinking about her conversations with both her mother and Brianna. Her parents never cared much about her relationship with Anne and Marcy before, and Brianna rarely gave her friends the time of day. Especially since Anne declined her date in Sophomore year.
It shouldn’t bother her if Anne and Marcy date, and yet the thought of anyone else holding their hands, kissing them made her feel sick to her stomach. This whole day was causing a firey pit in her stomach and she finally had enough. Sasha snatched her bag from the side of the chair and stalked off, too many thoughts swirling in her head to know where she was going until she found herself in the school wing where History class with Anne and Marcy was.
Anne and Marcy soon came around the corner a little ways down the hall and Sasha made a b-line towards them-
Anne smiled. “Hey, Sash- whoa!”
-tugging them by the wrists into an empty classroom.
“Whoa, Sasha! What's wrong?” Came Marcy’s worried response once she had released them.
Sasha took a steadying breath as her friends waited with patience and concern.
“Okay. So my mom had said something about our relationship this morning,” Sasha began as she nervously wrung her hands. Something new her therapist had commented on. “And Brianna wanted to let me know she was going to ask one of you out not too long ago and made some kind of snide comment on our relationship too! I mean, what is up with people today? Mind your own business.”
Anne opened her mouth to speak but Sasha kept going.
“So I was thinking: why don’t we pretend to date. Not only will it piss off my parents but it’ll shut Brianna up and you two don’t have to worry about her asking either of you out!”
It was quiet as Sasha caught her breath but heat started to crawl up her cheeks in embarrassment as what she just said dawned on her as the minutes crept on, Anne and Marcy staring at her in bewilderment.
“Look we don’t even have to do anything! Nothing has to change and we only have to say yes if anyone asks.”
“It’s not a bad idea honestly,” Marcy hummed as she rubbed her chin. “We only really have to do it with Sasha’s parents and Brianna. Everyone else probably won’t even care.”
“Wait, hold up!” Anne interrupted as she looked at them incredulously. “We can’t just pretend we’re dating! Especially not to just anger people.”
“Anne-”
“No Sasha, I can’t.” Anne let out a sigh and turned to leave. “You can do whatever you want but leave me out of it.”
The final warning bell rang as Anne exited the room and Sasha cursed under her breath. A gentle hand on her shoulder brought the blond’s gaze to Marcy, who smiled reasurringly.
“I’ll try talking to her.”
At Sasha’s nod, Marcy took her hand and they walked to class together.

a quick lesson
Genre: smut
Pairing: Rosé x Reader
Type: scenario
Never in your life did you expect to be the one giving Rosé a private lesson.
A/N: Rosé is my bias wrecker, if you can’t tell. and i wrote this on a whim, very randomly lol. a lisa smut and many others will be up next. enjoy!
-
You tapped away at your laptop, textbook in your lap, sitting on a single bed in Rosé’s room. You had just wrapped up a concert and finally found time to finish some of your homework, all while being able to hang out with Rosé afterwards. Through the entirety of the night, despite being half focused on homework and still laughing and joking with the other girl, you felt her eyes fixated on you more often than not. Her eyes were narrow as she rested on her wrist.
You continuously glanced over and still caught her staring every time.
“Hey. You okay?” You chuckled. You leaned forward now and looked up to the older girl. Rosé smiled back softly and nodded.
“Yeah. I’m just thinking.”
“About what?”
Rosé let her eyes wander around your face. You always felt a little insecure when Rosé did this, being under her gaze made you feel so little.
She blinked her eyes now. “About you,” she said, very matter-of-factly.
You pulled back and tilted your head. “Of me?” A smile crossed your face, “How come?”
“Because you work so hard. You’re always doing your schoolwork when you have free time,” Rosé shrugged and hoped that she was carrying this conversation well.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” You quickly began to push your things to the side, “I don’t mean to ignore you or anything!”
“No, no no no!” Rosé began to laugh. She stopped you from closing your laptop and shook her head again. “Not like that. I meant, like, you are always doing your homework but it’s like you barely rest. Plus you’re always with us. Aren’t you tired?”
You looked at Rosé for a bit. Now was your turn to laugh, waving your hand dismissively. “It’s just normal. Not really a big deal.”
Rosé’s eyebrows furrowed. “Do you ever get time to yourself though? To do things you want?”
Your expression turned soft. You couldn’t help but stare at Rosé for a few moments as you tried to gather your thoughts, to the point where Rosé had to turn her eyes to the floor for a moment. It was quiet, until a sigh escaped your lips.
“I mean, I get to tour with you and the girls. And I get to be with you when you’re not being a big shot celebrity,” Rosé looked up to see that your smile grew wider, your eyes turning to crescents. “I am doing what I want.”
A small flush of pink took over Rosé’s cheeks. She smiled and shook her head, presumably at the amount of cheesiness that you were able to exude sometimes.
“That’s cute.” Rosé rolled her eyes again.
The bed creaked as you leaned back to rest on your arms. “Thank you, thank you. I do try my hardest.” Your eyes closed and a smug smile came across your face.
Silence overcame the two of you for a bit, which seemed pretty odd to you. Rosé usually wouldn’t stop talking unless she had food in her hands, and in this case, you were both still waiting for the food to arrive.
“Have you ever been in a relationship, y/n?”
Your eyes immediately opened to stare.
Rosé had a serious look on her face, curious and inquisitive.
You raised an eyebrow and moved forward. “Um, yeah, I have. Why do you ask?”
“What’s it like?”
“What’s it like?” You questioned. It seemed like such a trivial thing for someone like Rosé to be asking about. “Well, it’s... nice?” You shrugged.
Rosé continued staring. She expected you to say more and you could feel it.
“Umm,” you continued, “its like you always have your best friend at your side. It’s fun, and y’know. You just kinda enjoy being together.”
“So you loved them?”
You raised your eyebrows. “Um, I’m not too sure,” you laughed uncomfortably, “I would probably say yes? But...”
Rosé nodded. It was encouraging, but her soft expression told you that you didn’t have to continue. You smiled.
It was quiet once again for a short while, enough that you thought the conversation was over. You playfully squeezed Rosé’s knee and turned to grab your laptop again; Rosé stopped you by tapping your arm.
“Can I ask you something else?” Rosé sat back on her heels, folding her hands in her lap. She kept her head down now, and you could see her thumbs running over the back of her hands. Her voice was quiet.
You scooted up to sit on the edge of the bed next to her and nodded. “Yeah, sure, anything.”
Rosé took a deep breath and took her bottom lip between her teeth. Her eyes stayed diverted from your gaze.
“Did you ever... have sex with them?”
“What?!” Your eyebrows shot up to your hairline. Rosé flinched a bit from your tone and you sunk back into the bed in apology. Lips pursed and eyebrows furrowed, it was your turn to play with your own hands.
“I— yes, I did,” You managed to stammer, “it was, uh, yeah.”
Rosé hid her laugh and finally looked up at you. Her eyes were filled with a certain look of curiosity— or maybe something else.
“How was that?”
“Rosé, this is getting very—“ you laughed awkwardly and held your own throat in a chokehold, “very personal.”
Rosé smiled and let out a little laugh. “I know, I’m sorry. I just...” She shrugged, “is it satisfying?”
“It— yeah,” you looked off to the side and inhaled a nervous breath. “If done right.”
A thought suddenly crossed your mind and you stared at the older girl. “Have you... never done it?” Your tone was confused, and you sat back on the bed as puzzled as ever. This time, Rosé shook her head.
“Like, you’ve...” You shrugged and pointed to her legs, “you’ve had sex before.”
Rosé rolled her eyes. “No, y/n. I haven’t.”
The world must have slowed down in order for you to process this, because you stared at the older girl for a few moments, like the cog wheels in your head were turning to make sense of this.
“Okay, but, you’re an idol...” It seemed like you were just talking to yourself with the way your eyes stayed spaced out at the area in front of you, “you have to have had some getaway. And you have so many... willing fans. Some free time to... y’know...” You, again, shrugged incredulously and did a very inappropriate gesture that almost made Rosé laugh out loud.
“Y/n, you’re right, I’m an idol, but that doesn’t make it any easier. I get no free time for that,” Rosé sighed.
You furrowed your brows. It never really crossed your mind what Rosé did in her personal life. You didn’t think it bothered her that she hasn’t been in a relationship, nor have you ever thought about the fact that she’d eventually be in one. The thought alone made your stomach drop.
“Y/n,” you noticed Rosé creeping closer to you, a soft hand resting on your thigh. You jumped under her touch and looked in her eyes.
“I’ve never been with anyone. And, I’ve never felt that feeling of... release,” she admitted, quietly and breathlessly. You could see her eyelids fluttering along with her lashes with every blink. “Can you teach me?”
Your mind went blank. The cogwheels in your head froze, your throat immediately going dry. “Teach you?” You stared right through Rosé with a feeling that you may pass out.
“I won’t be able to just meet someone and do it. I at least want to know how to properly... do it myself.”
“You want me to teach you how to touch yourself?”
Rosé nodded. Her cheeks were flushed pink and her voice stayed quiet, but she had no problem with voicing her problem to you.
Rosé must know what an odd request this was, you thought. There’s always been tension between the two, regardless of how close of friends you were. You spent every waking moment together; maybe that’s why. But this was crossing a line.
“On top of that,” Rosé added, “I’ve never been able to feel that... that feeling that people get on their own.” She shrugged and looked at you with sincerity in her eyes. “It’s frustrating.”
“Yeah, yeah, I can see that...” Your throat felt like it was drying out by the second. You could feel that your stomach was in knots and your breathing began to break its rhythm. You couldn’t deny that you haven’t thought of this before.
Seeing Rosé so flustered and asking of something so intimate was sending you over the edge. There was an undeniable attraction you felt for the older girl. How could you not? Throughout the tours, the trips, you two had always been glued at the hip. But, still, you had to face reality. Rosé was a celebrity, and she understood that. You were fine being by her side as a friend— but that didn’t mean that those thoughts, ripe with lust and something more wouldn’t arise more often than not.
The atmosphere in the room only grew heavier and heavier.
“Do you watch porn?”
It was a valid question, but Rosé giggled. The blush deepened on your cheeks.
“I have. It just, doesn’t work,” Rosé was almost whispering now. You noticed that her eyes were lidded now and she kept her gaze low.
You swallowed nervously and nodded. “Do you want to try? Watching it?”
Rosé flushed. “With you here?”
“If you still want me to teach you.”
The older girl shuffled a bit on the bed now. A sudden shyness took over her, but the heat between her thighs grew unbearable by the minute.
Rosé nodded, and your stomach suddenly flipped over. It was happening, and you couldn’t believe it.
Without another word, you picked up your laptop and wasted no time in pulling the website up. Images began to flood the screen and your cheeks grew hot. From where you sat, you hoped that your beating heart would go unnoticed.
You clicked on a video with a very explicit thumbnail. You thought that the best way to teach was to show.
Rosé scooted closer to you, until you were shoulder to shoulder. Your skin burned hot to the touch.
The video began to play and your stomach filled with nervousness by the second. You were about to cross an unspoken boundary that’s been in place since you were children; but you didn’t care.
You were supposed to teach Rosé, but you weren’t able to find the words to try. You kept glancing to her, watching how she fidgeted and stared at the screen with such concentration. You took a deep breath, unable to handle the burning between your legs.
“Hey,” you finally spoke as you scooted backwards, resting on the headboard of the bed, legs open and patting the space between.
“Come sit between my legs.”
Rosé’s face flushed. Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped, but no words of protest came out. She only quietly removed herself from the edge of the bed to climb into your lap.
“I’m gonna show you now, is that okay?” You asked.
“Yes,” Rosé took a deep breath and nodded, “that’s okay.”
Once Rosé was between your legs, you let your hands gently trace her thighs. Rosé almost flinched them closed on instinct, but you promptly took hold of her knees to slowly push them further apart.
Rosé’s face rushed with redness. She took a deep breath and tried her best to relax her nerves as your hands continued to travel up her sides and down her arms to her wrists.
You gently took her wrists and brought them up, towards your lips, where you left a kiss on her pulse.
The older girl’s hips twitched and you tried to hide your smug smile.
You lifted her wrists once more until Rosé felt hair entangle her fingers. Her arms were draped on your shoulders where she was free to grab at your hair, your head, anything.
“Don’t be afraid to use me too,” You spoke with lust dripping from your words. Rosé nodded desperately and unknowingly already took hold of a fistful of your hair.
She laid her head back on your shoulder. Her chest was heaving, and her legs were spread. You could tell that her nervousness began to build and grow, spreading through her whole body until she was almost trembling.
“Focus on my fingers,” You spoke softly to calm her down, your lips brushing against the shell of Rosé’s ear. “We’ll start slow.”
Your breath was felt on her skin, and it was enough to send shivers straight down Rosé‘s spine.
Trying to calm yourself of your own nerves, you took deep breaths and focused yourself on the feeling of Rosé’s smooth skin beneath your touch. With eyes closed, you began to slowly travel upwards and underneath the older girl’s shirt. You could feel Rosé’s stomach rising and falling in anticipation.
Your nails gently dug into her skin as you left soft, red trails in its wake. She whimpered and let out frustrated sighs.
The fabric of her bra was the only thing keeping you away from her chest. Even so, you gently cupped both breasts in your hands and heard a small gasp.
“Can I move this?” You asked. The feeling of Rosé’s nervous breathing was still prominent, but she nodded anyway. You traced her back with your left hand to give her bra strap a quick *flick*, and within a moment the latch fell limp.
You took hold of the front and began to pull it from Rosé’s shoulders. She straightened her arms to help ease from it, but resumed her position of holding the back of your head. The beating of your heart began to pound in your ears.
From just where you sat, you could see Rosé’s bare chest on display for you, free to be touched and teased. The thought of it being so close made your mind feel hazy.
Your hands skimmed up Rosé’s body once more before you finally felt her perky nipples in the palm of your hands. Rosé’s moans drifted through the air when you began to knead her breasts together. Her hips began to gyrate in your lap, slow strokes to match the pace of your hands. You let one of your hands fall back into her lap, where you took hold of her inner thigh to control the speed of her hips.
Rosé’s back arched away from you as you gently tugged at her already hardened nipple. Your thumb would ease up on them, twirling and just faintly touching, enough to frustrate Rosé and have her asking for more.
Rosé’s head was thrown back onto your shoulder, chest heaving and legs slowly spreading as you pushed and pulled her against you. You wondered just how riled up she could get.
Your hand moved from her thigh to delve under the material of her shorts, your fingers quickly swiping over Rosé’s clothed, throbbing clit. A soft gasp came from the girl’s lips and her chest arched away again.
“It’s okay.” You ran her finger along Rosé’s slit, feeling her panties grow increasingly wet as you did so. Rosé let out frustrated groans and tugged at your hair.
“I’ll touch you soon,” Your lips caressed the nape of her neck. The feeling alone sent jolts of electricity through her body. Rosé leaned her head back further and let out a whine, pulling your head closer to her.
You let your fingers roam, sliding along the cloth before rubbing gentle circles over her clit. Her panties were soaked already.
Rosé’s hips raised slightly and you heard a small whimper form in her throat. From the feeling of Rosé gripping your hair, you could tell that she was getting impatient with you.
“Y/n, come on,” she whined. The neediness in her voice only made your ego grow twice in size.
You couldn’t help but smile and nod. “Okay, okay,” you pulled your hand back to slide it under her panties. “It’s okay to relax.”
As you touched her, your fingers tracing between her folds to feel how wet she’s become, you make sure to remember every sound, imprinting it in your mind for only you to keep. You relish in every moan and whimper and shiver every time you dip your fingers into her heat, covering your own fingers in her juices. Then you bring your fingers back up to her clit, circling slowly, falling into a gentle rhythm that brings her close to the edge.
“Fuck,” she chokes on a gasp, then whines as she grinds herself against you, her own fingers digging into your neck, “don’t stop...” It almost seems like Rosé has forgotten the situation she was in, this whole scene being a lesson (or maybe she doesn’t care) because she lets go, only focusing on the pleasure you give her, giving in to the way you touch her, the way you tease and play between her trembling thighs. Your hand works quicker, driving her wild until she’s shaking against you.
But maybe she does remember that this is a lesson, because she tries to calm herself to focus on the feeling of your fingers. You don’t stop, however, now caressing her swollen, aching clit, filling the space with the sounds of her messy juices. Just feeling how wet she’s become as your body on fire, and feeling her trembling against you while listening to her breathless whimpers and moans makes your own body ache for release.
“God, that feels so good,” she cries out, gasping and whimpering all over again, “fuck, y/n, I’m… I’m gonna come—“
Her words ignite the fire within you, and even more so as you feel her thighs tighten around your hand as she begins to unravel. Her hips rolls against you and she reaches to grasp your wrist with a shaking palm. Her head is swirling, as is yours. Curses and moans fill the air, breaths suddenly so heavy as the pleasure rolls through her body, and after a few moments, she finally begins to come down.
Her head falls into your neck. She’s breathing deeply as her legs fall open, exhausted, but you still play at her folds. You smile as you caress down her slit and watch as her legs twitch from the sensitivity. The tips of your fingers sink into her pussy, allowing her messy juices to be heard after coming, pumping them slowly, the filthy noises making it known just how hard she came. Rosé giggles because it becomes too much, and finally her thighs close once again as she pushes your hand away.
You both stay quiet and just listen to your heaving breaths, feeling the both of your chests rising and falling with each one you take.
You decide to break the silence. “How was that?”
Rosé shook her head, but you could still feel her smile against your neck. “It— it was done right,” Her voice shook, “I’m pretty sure.”
You laughed a bit. The blush on your cheeks was still very much prominent, but she couldn’t see that. “Well, I hope you paid attention. You think you can do it yourself now?”
Rosé sat up from your lap and turned to face you. The shyness was erased from her face and was replaced with dominance, and to be honest, it frightened you a bit. Only— not really.
Rosé crawled closer to you until your noses were touching, her lips so close you could just lean up to capture them.
“I’m not sure,” Her hand moved from your thigh to find its place right where you wanted it most, “let me practice.”

prom night
synopsis: you and spence both never got your own prom, maybe this makes up for it
{a/n: i’m projecting a little bit bc i missed my prom, but i hope this isn’t too cheesy}
——-
the east coast was your home
born and raised in dc, school in new york, work in virginia
you wouldn’t have it any different
except for the fact that you lived less than 20 mins outside your childhood home
you loved being able to be close to your family, but it had its downsides
“y/n can you pick up your brother
y/n can you run to the store for me
y/n can you pick up my dry cleaning”
and it was like you were in high school all over again
on one occasion you were at home with your mom and your baby sister, delaney, she was 17, so not much of a baby anymore
“so what’s the hot gos” you said taking a bite out of your gronola bar and looking your sister down
“ew”
“dont ‘ew’ me”
“well i got asked to the prom yesterday”
your mom nearly dropped her pan
“NO WAY”
“yes way, is it so hard to believe that someone would like me? i’m not y/n for crying out loud”
you gave her a light punch on the arm
“NOT FUNNY”
she wasn’t far from wrong though, you were the classic “nerd”
15 years ago when you were in her place, at the exact same high school, you were never asked to prom, you were too busy in math olympiad or physics club to ever want to attend prom
but that was 15 years ago, now you lost the braces and the acne, got 2 degrees, and had a very lovely boyfriend of your own
“it is though, you’re lucky you found spencer, two dorks made for each other” she said taking a sip of her water
“you’re such a bitch”
15 year age gap aside, you were still very much, sisters
“y/n, do you mind chaperoning? that way we don’t have to pay for a ticket” your mom asked
your sister blurted out “oh my god NO”
you were laughing so hard, usually this is the kind of thing you’d pass on, but it torturing your sister was so so so worth it
“okay i’m game, see you prom night”
——
“spencerrrrrrr” you trailed on as you sat next to spencer on the couch, staring deep into his hazel eyes
“yes my love?”
“do you love meeeeeeee???”
spencer rolled his eyes, he knew this is how you asked him for a favors
“to the moon and back, why??????”
“okay look, my baby sister, delaney, is going to the prom and i’m chaperoning her, and she called me and you dorks so we have to get back at her by embarrassing the hell out of her at her prom”
spencer laughed
“you’re no better than a petty 17 year old”
you rolled your eyes “so can we?”
he looked at you, than his eyes trailed from the calendar to his watch to you again
“of course”
“yes!” you gave him a hug and planted a kiss on his cheek
“i love you so bad spencer reid!” you said as you ran around the apartment
“even more!” he replied
—
“incoming call from spencer reid”
“hey y/n?”
“yes love?”
“what color dress are you wearing tonight?”
“green, why?”
“no reason...”
he said before he hung up
you laughed to yourself “what a dork”
you continued to brush the mascara on your eyes, getting ready for your very first prom night
you came running down the stairs in a dark green ankle length dress, while spencer waited to pick you up
he was wearing a suit with a matching bow tie to your dress
“that’s why you asked the color! you look dashing by the by”
you said as you leaned over and gave him a cheek staining kiss
“and this” he said as he handed you a beautiful green corsage arrangement
“spencer! for me? this is gorgeous”
you said as you slipped it onto your wrist
“yeah, penelope knows a guy”
“of course she does, and thank you! i can’t believe you’d go through all of this for me on fake prom” you said as he started driving toward your parents house
“hey this prom is not fake at all to me, i’ve never been to prom before”
you shrugged “me neither, i always thought it was dumb anyway”
“this is sort of embarrassing” spencer said scratching his head
“come on spencer it’s just me”
“okay, you know i went to highschool very young, i hadn’t even gone through puberty. i was the smallest guy in the class and that wasn’t purely based on my age. i was scrawny. but i had this grand idea of going to prom with the most beautiful girl. and i’d be all tal and handsome at that point, and i’d walk into that dance and stick it to all my bullies”
“that not embarrassing! i wish i wanted to go to prom like that. i guess i was too pretentious to go, i was an all star intellectual, there was no way i’d show my face at an event like prom”
“yeah, so i guess we both get do overs. and i get to live my prom dream. now i’m tall, and i have a beatiful girl by my side” he said as he smiled at you
“have i ever told you i love you?”
“not enough” he smiled as he pulled into your parents drive way
you got out of your car to wait inside with your sister for her date to arrive
eventually a tall girl with a equally as beautiful corsage in her hand ended up nervously swaying on the front door and she rang the door bell
spencer answered
“hi!”
“h-hi, mr. y/l/n” she said in a nevrous tone
spencer laughed out loud and you went to intervene
“oh my yeah he’s just my boyfriend, hi i’m delaney’s older sister y/n. no need to be nervous, there’s no dad around here. just a lot of siblings, my mom and my boyfriend!” you said as you welcomed her into the house
delaney went to take the corsage from her date, melanie
your mom lined you spencer and your sister and melanie up for what felt like 800 pictures before you finally decided to get into spencers car to the dance
in the car you turned around to the girls
“sooooo, how’d y’all meet”
delaney burried her head into her knees in embarrassment while her date explained
“well she was in my physics class, and it all went from there”
“physics!!! i love physics, is mr. scott still there?”
“yup he’s our teacher”
“sick” you said to yourself, reminiscing about your days in high school
eventually you pulled into your highschool parking lot, hooking arms with spencer as you walked toward then gym
“god does this bring me back”
you said to him
your sister whispered to her date “god she’s so old”
“HEY DELANY I HEARD THAT”
she gave you the stink eye and whispered in your ear
“please get as far away from me as possible”
all you did was nod as you watched the two of them skip into their dance
you looked up at spencer
“god you’re so cute, i wish i had you here in high school”
“i’m sure you had your boys”
“from the physics club? right”
you walked into the fully decorated gym, wandering around from the punch bowl to the photo booth, you and spencer watching the floor of kids dance to their hearts content
“i think i know why i skipped this in highschool”
spencer laughed
“ i would have killed to be in this very position when i was in high school”
you wrapped your arms around his neck and looked him in the eyes
“killed to be in prom in the first place or to be here with me?”
“with your of course”
he said as he met your lips for a kiss
obviously bringing spencer was a bad idea for your sabotage delany plan, because you got way too distracted with spencer by your side
you spent the entire night talking to him, dancing with him to the slow songs, taking funny pictures in the photo booth
high school stuff you guess
eventually when all the kids were slow dancing, you looked up at spencer
“wanna make a break for it?”
he didn’t know what that meant, but if it was with you he’d do it, so he just nodded and followed you outside
you buried your head into his shoulder as you walked around the campus you grew up on, pointing to the points of interest
you pointed to a big oak tree with seat like roots under it
“that’s where we used have physics club meetings”
then you pointed to a hidden patch behind all the bushes
“this is where i traded homework for money”
he just nodded as you told the stories of your high school experience
you pointed to some old looking railings with a tree standing view it
“that’s where i had my first kiss”
“HUH! i thought you said you got no boys, physics club and all”
“yeah you’re right” you said as you settled on one of the bleacher, overlooking the field and the night sky, spencer joining you
your fancy dress hitting the dirt of the baseball field, the cold april night making you shiver, and spencer putting his blazer coat over you
“you’re right, i didn’t get any boys in high school” you sighed as you cuddled into his arm
“my first kiss was with dylan watson, he was mr blue eyes blonde hair, baseball and perfect social status. and you know i was, braces glasses and physics”
he laughed as you continued to tell the story
“but yeah one day he slipped me a note, i figured he just wanted homework. but he said to meet him there after school. so i did, and he confessed tht he loved me, and wanted to be my boyfriend. and of course i said yes. and the he kissed me. it was the best moment of my life up until then. but as soon as he pulled away he yelled ‘you got that?’”
“oh no” spencer said, listening intently
“oh yes, his buddies had be filming, then they put me on plays all around the entire school, showing the video to everyone. so yeah, that’s why i never want to the prom. i guess it might have been bc i was a nerd, but also because i never wanted to show my face to those kids anymore” you said as you sighed
“you know, i had a similar experience where a pretty girl told me the same thing, but instead the entire school stripped me to my underwear and tied me to a pole. it was awful”
“oh my goodness that’s terrible” you said
“well i guess high school bullying makes great profilers?” yoy laughed
“maybe. i think it also develops character well i’m general too. and hey! you got your first kiss out of it”
“yeah, but high school was the worst, i wish i could tell my 17 year old self that it would get better”
“me too” he said
he said as he tucked his chin into your head and looked up at the stars, faint music echoing from the gym and the sound of your cold shakey breath
“y/n, i’m just glad we got to spend our prom night together”

REQUEST BOX IS STILL OPEN. STREAM GOD’S MENU AND VOTE FOR OUR BOYS.
[5:12 p.m.] A yawn escaped your lips as you managed to go through all your assigned lectures for the day. You logged out from your university's portal and shut your laptop close, not wanting to stare at the bright screen any longer. You sauntered towards the kitchen and opened the drawer that contained all your caffeine-related pick-me-ups. As you were about to grab a mug, your actions were halted by your phone's ringtone, signalling a call as it rang on the coffee table from your apartment's living room. You managed to accept the call before it was dropped.
SeungMong <3
"Hey," you answered, sauntering back to the kitchen as you cradled your phone in between your right ear and shoulder to keep your hands free. "Baby, are you busy?" Seungmin asked. You shook your head but you mentally facepalmed as you remembered that the boy on the other line couldn't see you, "No. I just finished some school stuff. What's up?"
"Can you come over? Chan-hyung wants to take us out for dinner," Seungmin replied and you could faintly hear Jisung and Changbin screaming in the background -- something about Chan covering food expenses for the first time. You lightly chuckled and responded, "Yeah sure, I'll be there in twenty."
An hour passed and you were all gathered at the boys’ go-to restaurant, which was three blocks down from your university's dormitory.
"Am I dreaming?" Jisung teased as he hopped off Chan's car, Changbin and Jeongin not far behind him. “Somebody drive him back home,” Chan groaned to which the younger one giggled, jumping on his back in the process. “Hyung, come on. I was just poking fun at you,” Jisung cooed at the elder, earning him a light flick on the forehead from Chan.
You beamed at the sight of the boys playfully bickering. “Pay attention to me,” Seungmin whined and nudged your shoulder. You broke into a cheesy grin and gave his cheek a peck, “You always have my attention.”
Seungmin extended a hand towards you, to which you gladly complied, squeezing his hand three times as you intertwined your hand with his -- your silent way of saying ‘I love you’.
Soon after, you guys were seated inside the restaurant and you fell into each of your own said conversations.
“How was your day?” Seungmin asked as he adjusted his seat closer to yours. “Better now that I’m with you,” you said in a voice soft with affection. Seungmin chuckled, “Stop it.” You shook your head, leaning closer so that your forehead touched his. “You’re so cute,” you teased, which earned you a pout from the older male. “You do know that I’m a year older than you, right?” Seungmin bragged. You rolled your eyes, “Your point being?”
Seungmin sighed in defeat, opting to plant a kiss on your lips, but you were interrupted by multiple groans and a chorus of complains. “Get a room already!” Felix exclaimed with his hands covering his eyes, a poor attempt to discard the sight of yours and Seungmin’s “sickening” affection, as Minho described it. You stuck a tongue out at Felix, “Stop being so bitter.”
Felix faked sob and Jeongin joined in on his act, embracing the older male and patting his head.
Soon, your playful banter came to an end as your orders arrived. You guys were eating in silence, uttering a compliment here and there towards the dishes that you were served, until Hyunjin called for your attention.
“Oh, (y/n), before I forget,” the older male started, only stopping for a second to sip on his drink. “I found that outline you’ve been looking for,” he continued. “Please tell me you have it,” you pleaded, eager to finish the book review that your professor has quested upon your class a week ago. Hyunjin nodded, “The copy is in the car, I got you.”
You cheered as you reached out your hand to give him a high-five. “You’re the best, oppa.”
With your response, Hyunjin immediately side-eyed Seungmin’s reaction. He might have known something or at least sensed something, specifically when Seungmin blabbered -- well, more like ranted -- about you not calling him the said endearment you just used on Hyunjin a few seconds ago.
Let’s rewind, shall we?
Hyunjin was an hour away from a deadline, and yes, he admits that he may have finished his project sooner, but a certain someone, who goes by the name of Jisung, decided that it would be more fun to play video games over at Felix and Changbin’s dorm. “That stupid project isn’t even due for another day. Chill out, dude,” Jisung claimed with burgeoning excitement. Instead of turning his friend down -- or better, kicking his tempting ass out of the dorm -- he caved in.
Hours later, he was cramming at least two days worth of work into an hour. Then comes your boyfriend, Seungmin. “Hyunjin!” the younger male called out from their dorm’s entrance. “In here!” Hyunjin hollered, his fingers still hot on his laptop’s keyboard, seven more questions and a descriptive about his said stand on the project, and he’ll be done -- both figuratively and literally, his brain’s slowly pan-frying itself to destruction. He mentally cursed Jisung.
“Procrastination at its finest,” Seungmin mocked as he entered Hyunjin’s room. “You can nag me later, bur right now I have to finish this and then kick Jisung’s ass,” Hyunjin said with firm persistence. The younger lad sighed and sat down on a bean bag at the corner of the room. “I don’t have the energy to nag,” Seungmin whispered, but Hyunjin still managed to catch his words. He jokingly rolled his eyes, finding slight amusement towards Seungmin’s puppy expression.
“You and (y/n), had a fight?” Hyunjin asked, his attention still on his laptop but he figured he needed Seungmin for a little background noise to keep him sane, plus the guy’s one of his best friends. “Not really,” Seungmin disagreed. “Then, what got you all gloomy?” Hyunjin insisted, but he was only met with silence.
“Seungmo, come on, spill.”
“She addresses you as an ‘oppa’,” Seungmin blurted out after a few seconds. “Who addresses me as what?” Hyunjin asked, his eyebrows contorted in confusion. “(y/n),” Seungmin answered as he buried his face in his arms. “Seungmo, you do know that she does that to everybody that’s older than her, right?” Hyunjin replied, “It’s called being polite.”
“Well, I call it being unfair.”
Hyunjin chuckled in amusement, “Please elaborate.”
“You and I are the same age, which means that I’m older than her too, but she doesn’t call me that,” Seungmin whined.
And that’s how Seungmin ended up being silent for the rest of the night. You, being unaware of the situation, shrugged it off, thinking that he was just exhausted from his vocal lessons. Until, Hyunjin decided to let you in on the puppy’s cause of gloominess.
“Here, now go ace that literature course,” Hyunjin handed you the outline he promised, giving your head a pat in the process. “Thank you, oppa.”
“One more thing, (y/n),” Hyunjin said as he leaned down and whispered, “Seungmin wants to be called that too.”
“Huh?” you turned to him in confusion, but Hyunjin just stared at you and decided that you would come into revelation in a few seconds. “Oh,” you gasped, eyes lighting up in the process. “That’s why he’s been acting weird,” you added. Hyunjin smiled in approval, “Do something and wipe that pout off his face.”
The car ride back to your dorm was silent. Seungmin kept his eyes on the road, no words were exchanged between the two of you and he clearly showed no effort of doing so any time soon. You’re slowly running out of time as your building came into view a few minutes later. Seungmin slowly stopped the car and got out, he jogged towards your side and opened the door for you.
Go time.
“I’ll text you when I get home,” Seungmin said. His expression was sad but he still managed to give you a kiss on the forehead. He was about to pull away but you prevented him from doing so by holding his face in your hands. You stared at him lovingly, thanking the universe for bringing this man into your life.
“I love you, oppa,” you whispered, but loud enough for him to hear you.
A soft gasp escaped from his lips as his eyes widened, “What did you just call me?”
“Oppa, why?” you giggled and gave his nose a kiss. “Don’t get me wrong, I feel like I’m on top of the world right now, but you never call me that,” Seungmin wondered, his arms now wrapped around your waist, allowing him to pull you closer. “Let’s just say, a little bird told me,” you teased.
“Hwang Hyunjin!”
You laughed, “Don’t get mad at him.”
“Listen,” you called back for his attention, “I don’t call you oppa because I use that on everybody who’s older than me, well close friends of course, but you know what I mean.”
“And you, Kim Seungmin, are not just anybody. You’re my person, my everything, my whole world. You’re special to me and you matter the most,” you explained, pouring your feelings out for the said man. You were about to say more in order to get rid of Seungmin’s doubt, but he cut you off with a kiss.
You guys were practically making out in your dormitory’s parking lot, but it’s the least of your worries right now.
You pulled away first as you tried to catch your breath. “I love you so much, (y/n),” Seungmin confessed, his expression now darker as you witnessed his eyes fill with desire. “And I’ll prove that to you.”
“What do you mean, oppa?”
Seungmin leaned down, his lips dangerously close to your ear. “Don’t test me, baby.”
You whimpered in response, “Do whatever you want. I’m all yours, oppa.”

1,2,5,7 | Irene
Wordcount: 2,220
Genre: fluff
Request: Can you do a scenario where Irene is insecure about her relationship w male or genderneutral S/O because of their age gap but S/O reassures her everything is okay. Fluff please and thank you for your hard work
“No, no, no. You have to snap first, then swing and slide out of the picture at the end.”
As soon as Joohyun opened the front door, she could hear a turmoil of voices, music and laughter coming from one of the rooms. In confusion, she furrowed her brow, pricking her ears in order to find out where the source of the noise was located. It was a task that didn’t demand a lot of her time due to the small size of the apartment and she let her feet carry her to Yeri’s room. The door was left ajar wherefore Joohyun lightly gave it a push in order to be able to stick her head through the gap unnoticed.
Inside of the room, she was met with chaos. Yeri and you were standing in front of her bed where Sooyoung was placed strategically, holding a phone that was recording the two of you executing a number of dance moves that were unknown to Joohyun.
“Ok let’s take it from the top.”
Yeri piped up and you nodded in agreement.
Sooyoung gave the two of you a thumbs up before pressing a button on the screen and letting the camera roll again. Simultaneously, Yeri and you started dancing until you clumsily bumped your heads together. Wild laughter broke out in the room and you fell to the floor holding your belly.
“Oops I suppose it was the other left.”
You choked out between laughter while Yeri jokingly hit you for your mistake.
“Maybe we’re not meant to be TikTok famous.”
Sooyoung giggled on the bed before turning off the camera that had been recording the mess until now.
All of you seemed to have the time of your lives and Joohyun was happy to see the wide smile on your face, but at the same time, something seemed to be painfully tugging on her heartstrings: her insecurities. Your relationship hadn’t always been smooth; the two of you had actually had a rocky start. You were perfect in every regard. You were gorgeous, smart, funny, chivalrous... Joohyun could go on and on. Nevertheless, you had one flaw. Your age.
In the beginning, Joohyun hadn’t even taken your advances serious. You were so young, and she simply thought that you were fooling around. Besides, she couldn’t risk staining her scandal-free reputation. She knew that dating someone a lot younger was frowned upon in society. But you had been so persistent; trying to win her over relentlessly until she couldn’t deny her heart its way. You weren’t immature like some others your age and you had seriously sparked her interest. She wanted to get to know you better and eventually accepted your dinner invitation.
After that night, Joohyun had never really managed to cut herself off from you again and the two of you soon made your relationship official. Everything was working great, except that she hadn’t been able to shake another thing aside from you. Something else had stuck to her ever since; something that was making her heart sink right now like so many times before. Her insecurities.
What would the public say if they found out about your relationship? Did you even know yet what you truly wanted? Could she even give you that?
You always assured her that the age gap didn’t matter; the two of you weren’t doing anything illegal after all. Love wasn’t based on mathematics or logic. Nevertheless, moments like this were able to overthrow all of your good arguments over and over again. You always seemed to be so happy when you were with someone more your age. What benefit did you have dating someone like her? You were making her feel young, but what was she giving you in return? She was probably only stopping you from doing reckless, and foolish stuff.
A desperate sigh accidentally slipped through Joohyun’s lips that made her hold her breath. She didn’t want to be caught lurking, but it was already too late. Three pairs of eyes landed on her the same time and one face lit up in particular.
“Joohyun!”
You exclaimed happily before leaping to your feet to come closer.
Joohyun, who was still caught up in her tangled thoughts, didn’t move an inch, but that didn’t seem to bother you. Gently you rested your hand on her hip and pressed a kiss on her cheek, very closely to her mouth.
“Had a good day?”
You asked when you pulled away, parading your perfect smile that had always managed to make her heart beat faster. Not wanting to worry you, Joohyun quickly nodded before steering her gaze to the floor in order to avoid your X-ray vision. But apparently you had already noticed her inner struggle. Automatically, you tightened your grip on her hip and pulled her subtly closer.
“Guys, I’m gonna grab a bite. Let’s continue later.”
You said over your shoulder without awaiting a response from the others before gently pushing Joohyun through the apartment to the kitchen. She didn’t refuse your guiding hand, nevertheless, Joohyun knew that she didn’t want to talk about her worries. You would probably just play them off and there wasn’t really a solution anyways. Wordlessly, she sat down at the kitchen counter as you grabbed some leftovers from the fridge to heat them up while tensed silence soon surrounded you.
“So...how was work?”
You asked eventually to break the silence, causing Joohyun to almost sigh in relief; apparently you were thinking that her taciturnity was caused by an incident at work.
“Stressful like always.”
She answered rather shortly, not wanting to make up a reason for her changed demeanor.
You kept asking a few more questions to probe, but Joohyun blocked all of your efforts to get a conversation started until silence settled between the two of you again and nothing but the eventual clattering of your plates could be heard in the room. The atmosphere was incredibly uncomfortable and Joohyun felt like all the unanswered questions in her head were slowly creeping up her throat and choking her. She needed answers, but at the same time, she felt like she needed to be the bigger person. What use would it be to burden you with her worries?
Eventually, however, she couldn’t take the silence anymore and coughed silently to cut the tension.
“Um...the dance Yeri and you have been doing seemed to be fun. I’m guessing, I’m too old for that.”
Joohyun chuckled jokingly, although she couldn’t be more worried about that topic. She hadn’t intended to steer the conversation in that direction, but in her mind the pictures of her younger members and you dancing together kept playing on repeat, making it impossible to think about anything else. Sheepishly, she glanced up from her plate to observe your reaction. You had stopped eating and tilted your head as if you were thinking about her statement concentratedly.
“Yeah it’s a new trend. Everyone is doing it. You could too. You’re not too old, Joohyun. I’m sure your fans would love to see you uploading such videos more often.”
For a second, your gaze lingered on her, causing Joohyun to quickly start playing with her food to distract herself. She only hummed in response to your statement, not wanting to get more into that topic. You seemed to have caught up to her intention and dropped the conversation, deciding to let the rest of your dinner pass in silence.
The unspoken words between the two of you, however, stayed as an unpleasant disturbance, making it obvious to Joohyun that you weren’t satisfied with her silence. You didn’t address her weird behavior though and so she hoped that time would make you forget all about it. And her plan seemed to have worked. A week passed without you bringing up the most silent dinner that you had ever spent together and Joohyun began working on pushing her insecurities back to her subconscious and into oblivion. A slightly bitter taste stayed and it still felt like you were rubbing salt in her wound whenever you talked about your friends that were much younger than her or used some slang word that she had never heard of, but that was just a subtle pain that she had almost grown used to.
Joohyun was ready to leave this dilemma behind.
There was not much that she could do about it anyways. She would enjoy this relationship as long as it lasted and if you should end up leaving her, she would accept it and simply hold onto the memories that you had made together. She would not bring this topic up and ask for an affirmation of your love.
You, however, seemed to have made other plans.
It was a normal Friday evening when Joohyun was coming home from a dance practice unsuspectingly. As soon as she unlocked the front door though, she realized that something was different. The apartment was only dimly lit and a lot quieter than usual. There was also a subtle smell of some delicious food in the air and Joohyun reflexively closed her eyes to savor the much-needed tranquility. Some clattering from the kitchen, however, made her open her eyes again and she walked into the apartment, suddenly noticing photos being scattered across the whole place.
“What’s going on?”
Joohyun mumbled dumbfounded while slowly spinning around to scan her surroundings.
The sound of nearing footsteps caused her to halt her movements and she saw you standing in the doorframe of the kitchen, dressed in an apron with a satisfied smile on your lips.
“What’s all that?”
Joohyun gasped shocked, letting her gaze wander in the room, still finding more and more pictures.
“A reminder.”
You answered softly while walking closer to her.
“A reminder?”
Joohyun asked confused, contemplating whether today was a special day.
“Yes, a reminder to show you how insanely happy you have made me ever since I know you.”
Your words caused Joohyun’s face to heat up and she giggled like a little kid. Before she could complain about your cheesiness, however, you had already come up to her from behind and wrapped your arms around her. Joohyun turned her head to be able to look at you, but you fondly stared at the pictures in front of you, so she followed your gaze. The photos showed a variety of memories that you had collected together. Your candlelight dinner in Busan, your wellness weekend on Jeju island or your failed fishing trip in Sokcho that still managed to make Joohyun break out in laughter whenever she reminiscent about it. However different your adventures had been though, they all had one thing in common: the wide smiles that they had conjured to your faces. No matter which picture Joohyun looked at, the pure happiness that the two of you radiated made her feel warm and fuzzy inside.
“We really have collected some amazing memories together, haven’t we?”
Joohyun asked rhetorically with a fond smile on her lips, already knowing that you would agree with her.
“Yes we have. Because it doesn’t matter what it is that we do. As long as we are together, we can make everything worthwhile. You and me, Joohyun. I wouldn’t have wanted to experience all of those things with anyone else. You are the one supposed to be by my side.”
As you were speaking, Joohyun realized that you must have gotten to the bottom of her weird behavior lately and uncovered her insecurities. But at the same time, with every word that you uttered, they became less. You were right. The two of you seemed to be separated by a big age gap, but what about it? What was the meaning of time anyways? Your adventures were able to make the days fly by, but seeing your smile felt like an eternity spent in heaven and a kiss from you was able to stop time entirely. Why did she doubt your happiness because of some stupid numbers? The realness of it could be seen in every picture, could be heard in every love declaration and could be felt in the way your fingertips softly caressed her skin. What you had was real and she wouldn’t let anyone take that away from her.
“I hope we will take a lot more pictures in the future.”
Joohyun said while turning in your arms to face you.
“Of course we will. Starting from now.”
You grinned while pulling out your phone from your back pocket. Joohyun chuckled in response but cuddled up to you and looked into the camera, ready to capture this moment in order to always have a reminder of this night whenever her doubts would start getting the better of her again.
Your lips met her cheek and conjured a contagious smile to her face. Once again, this photo would be a proof of the endless happiness that flooded through her body whenever she was with you. There was nothing on this earth that could separate you. Your hearts were beating as one; along to its own rhythm, its own calculation of time.
1,2,5,7
Did it all make sense? No. But that didn’t make it any less real. Love was simply controlled by a higher power that didn’t let itself be confined. And Joohyun was finally ready to accept that.

Can’t Go Back Part 17
A/N: This chapter is pretty fluffy. We get a glimpse at how they are moving forward in their relationship since their fight. I’m planning on uploading a part from Monty’s perspective about what he’s doing Friday after school tomorrow or sometime this weekend. I hope you enjoy. Feedback is appreciated as always and much love. -Em
I spent the next week actively not checking my emails. I was too afraid to even consider if I would get emails about schools yet. It had only been a week. But you never know. In an attempt to keep my mind off of the fact that my entire future was now completely and totally out of my control, I tried to fill my time with normalcy. Things I normally did. Things that Monty and I normally did. That normalcy now included carving out an hour and a half for Monty’s physio three days a week, but we made it work.
I tried to get back into my routine. For the most part, I went to bed at the same time every night. Some days Monty went with me, other days he stayed up and did stuff for a while. But he came to bed every night. I went to the game Friday night. Scott and Charlie came over for brunch on Saturday. Justin came over to see his new best friend, I mean me, on Sunday because he picked up a shift Saturday morning. Monty and I did our own things together in the evenings during the week. I pretended to read while he played video games one night. Secretly, I was just watching him. For some reason watching people play video games was highly entertaining. We just did normal things.
We also went grocery shopping Saturday. “Are you sure you want to come with me?” I asked again.
“Yes, I’m sure Addison. Besides, we are over halfway to the store. It’s a little late to change my mind now.”
“Okay. Remember the list please.”
“I know. There’s a list and we get what’s on the list.”
“Exactly.”
At the store, I grabbed a cart and dug through my purse for the list and my pen. Monty took the cart from me without asking. I feigned an affronted look. He smirked back. Cocky bastard. I can already tell this is going to be so fun. I opened my mouth to speak when we got inside. “List, I know. And yes. I remember you’re going to make us get vegetables.”
“And you have to get at least one that you like.” He pouted. “You like carrots.” I offered.
“Fine.” He muttered. We are in a dramatic mood today. It was so peaceful when I went by myself. But I missed this. Monty went and put exactly five bulk carrots in a bag. Not wanting to fight him on carrots, I didn’t say anything. As usual, I was in charge of the rest of our vegetables.
The aisles were an easier task. There were no evil scary vegetable that I would have to force him to eat. I quickly scanned down the list as we entered each aisle. Carefully, everything was placed in the cart just so. “We need this.” Monty said, grabbing a box of cheese its.
“Is it on the list?” In response, he plucked the list and pen from my hand, and scribbled it on.
“It is now.” I rolled my eyes and grinned as he handed it back to me. His cheeky grin made me blush. I turned my back and pretended to look at something when we got to the fruit snack aisle and ignored the telltale thud of a box, make that two boxes, of fruit snacks being chucked in the cart. He didn’t write them on the list.
We both cringed at the price of meat, as usual. But we needed it so there wasn’t a whole lot we could do. I crossed things off that had been missed as we were filling the cart. Thankfully, it didn’t seem like the store was out of anything. “Oh, we need butter.” I muttered.
“Is it on the list?” Monty smirked. Like he had done earlier with the crackers, I quickly wrote it down.
“Yes.” I grinned. He grinned and stopped to kiss me on the cheek.
“I love you.”
“I love you too. Now let’s get this done so we can go home and do nothing.”
“Your wish is my command.” There was even a dramatic wave of his arm to accompany his attempt to woo.
“You are so fucking cheesy. I’m telling the guys about that one.”
“Ah, come on Addison. You love it.”
I went to grab a couple of pounds of butter and decided I could trust my adult husband to get some bread and jam on his own. When I found him in the bakery with our cart, I remembered that I married an overgrown child. There was bread. And there was jam. And also, cookies. Four different kinds of cookies. And a thing of strudel. Which, to be honest, I wasn’t that upset about because it’s like the best pastry. But the point is that it was there.
“I asked you to get bread and jam. Not half of the baked goods in the store.”
“But cookies are delicious Addison. And you like their chocolate chip cookies. And for some reason I still don’t understand, plain oatmeal cookies. Don’t even lie and say the strudel was a bad idea.”
“So, the sugar cookies and M&M ones are just to look pretty on the counter?”
“No. Those ones are for me.”
“I married a fuckin’ child.” I muttered softly. We turned when we heard a quiet chuckle behind us. A cute little old couple was watching our interaction with giant smiles.
“Mine still does the same thing dearie.” The woman said to me.
“Remember, we don’t grow up. We just get bigger.” The man smiled.
“I’m beginning to realize.” I laughed.
“See. I told you.” Monty smirked. As if to prove the point they were making, we watched as the man grabbed a container of lemon rolls and placed them in his cart. The woman gave him an exaggerated, exasperated look.
“Wait, how long have the two of you been married?” I asked when they passed us.
“Sixty-five years.” They said together, smiling fondly at each other. Wow. That’s amazing. I was still smiling when we got to the till and checked out.
Our normal routines continued for the rest of the week. School, physio, make dinner, sports, spend time together. The normalcy of it was refreshing.
“You’re scratching.” Monty said offhandedly, without looking up from his notes.
“Am not.”
“You stopped typing five minutes ago Addison.”
“I’m thinking.”
“And scratching.” I rolled my eyes and didn’t respond. I started typing aggressively loud to try and get a rise out of him instead. He didn’t respond at all. Not even an annoyed muscle twitch. We aren’t there yet. Okay. Monty’s phone buzzed on the coffee table beside me. I ignored it. It buzzed again. And then again. Before I could reach for it, he had hobble run over and snatched it out of my reach. I looked at him quizzically. He was trying to think of a reason to be hiding his phone from me. What is going on?
“It’s guy stuff. Jamie is having… girl troubles.”
“Girl troubles.”
“Yeah. His girlfriend but not girlfriend or something is doing stuff.”
“Something and stuff.”
“Yes. So, uh. I’ll be over… over there.” He motioned back to the kitchen table. “You know, dealing with girl troubles.”
“Right.” That was weird. Also, he’s going to pay for the movement in the morning. I went back to my writing and not scratching quietly. Occasionally I would look up over my laptop at Monty. He seemed to be very engrossed in his notes.
“Hey Addison?”
“Hmm?”
“Since the game got cancelled some of us are going over to Jamie’s place tomorrow after school.”
“’Kay.”
“Because girl troubles.”
“Yeah.”
“And stop scratching. You’ll only make the rash worse.”
The next morning, I skipped a shower. Cuddles were too enticing. It was a Friday so I didn’t feel like I had to look all cute. While Monty made himself a smoothie, I grabbed one of his shirts to wear because it was loose enough that it wouldn’t irritate the rash. It finally started to clear up. But now it itches. As though he could hear my thoughts, he called from the kitchen, “stop scratching.”
“Bite me.” I called back.
“If you don’t stop scratching, I will.”
“Is that a threat or a promise?” He looked up when he heard me come in the room.
“I was going to wear that today.”
“You have like… fifty more in your half of the closet.”
“I know mum is a history professor, but dad is a businessman. I know he taught you fractions. What I have is not half of the closet.” I merely shrugged. He waved towards the bowl beside the blender. “Chunky monkey with smooth peanut butter.” I sat and took a bite.
“Yum. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“Don’t worry about washing the blender. I’ll do it after school.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah.”
School was pretty boring. It was the middle of November, so we were in the awkward not quite midterms but not quite ready for a new unit time. I met Monty at my locker after the last bell. He was waiting for me with Justin and Jamie. “Hey baby.”
“Hey babe. You guys have fun tonight, okay?”
“Yes Ma’am.” Jamie saluted. I shuddered. Monty tried to stifle a laugh.
“Jamie. Do me a favour and never do that again.” I placed a couple of textbooks in my locker. “I’ll see you at home. Can you stop and grab baking powder on your way home tonight?”
“Sure.”
“Why can’t you stop? You’re going straight there.” Justin asked.
“I have a date with a bubble bath.”
“Ooh la la.” Jamie laughed.
“I guess. Didn’t shower this morning and a bath is better for my itching.”
“Oh?” Justin asked.
“I’ll explain later.” I muttered. He furrowed his brow and looked at Monty. I kissed Monty goodbye.
At home, I went to wash my face so I could do the expensive face mask I had been saving for a night alone. I did an exfoliating treatment first and ran my bath. A few scented candles were set on our master bathroom counter and I poured myself a glass of raspberry juice. The book I had been meaning to get around to reading was sitting on the toilet for easy access. Okay fine. One of the books I had been meaning to read. It was very relaxing. I had to dig in the cabinet for my body scrub but found it behind a backup pack of deodorant from Costco. Luckily, the bubble bath was also right there. I poured some in to give it time to foam.
With my face mask done and washed off, I undressed and settled in the tub. The water was boiling hot, just the way I liked it. I sighed and sipped my juice, enjoying a night alone. When the husband is away, wife will pamper. The hot water helped to calm my itching skin. The scrub made my legs nice and smooth before I shaved them and exfoliated a second time. Once the necessaries were taken care of, I could start to relax. Picking up my book, I settled in for the foreseeable future. My book was so interesting and immersive, I completely lost track of time. I was still in the tub when Monty got home. “Addison?” He called when he didn’t find me in the kitchen.
“I’m in the bath.” I called back.
“Okay.” He was opening and closing drawers in our room. He poked his head in the bathroom. “Do you want a glass of water or anything? How long have you been in there?” I paused for a moment to consider. How long had it been?
“What time is it?”
“Almost seven.” My eyes widened.
“Really? Then yeah, I’ll take a glass of water. I’m going to get out right away.” He shut the door behind him and I threw my book across to the door so it didn’t get wet when I got out of the tub.
Once dry and moisturized, I left the bathroom in search of my husband. I found him on the couch scrolling aimlessly through his phone. “I missed you.” I bent behind the back of the couch to kiss his cheek.
“I missed you too. You look very cozy in your fuzzy pyjamas.”
“Why thank you.” I curtsied. He laughed happily. Settling next to him, I laid my head in his lap.
“How was your bath?”
“Amazing. Very relaxing. Oh! And I exfoliated and shaved my legs.” I grinned and lifted my pants leg. “Feel!”
Again, Monty laughed and shook his head. He still reached out and rubbed my leg though. “Very soft and smooth.”
“How was girl problems?”
“I think they’re resolved. It wasn’t as major or as difficult as we thought.”
“That’s good.” I peeked at his phone. He was watching football injury videos. Oh Sweetie. “Hey, how’s your knee?”
“It’s okay. Physio has been helping.”
“I’m glad.” He seemed to realize then that I wasn’t just asking for an update on his progress.
“Oh. I’m just watching this because some of them are funny.”
“Funny?”
“Yeah.” He restarted the video and adjusted his position so I could see too. He was right. Some of them were pretty funny.
It was family brunch Saturday the next day. Scott, Charlie, and Justin all came over. As usual, the four young men were more than happy to eat relatively work free. Monty did have to help me reach a few things and our guests helped set the table. But for the most part, I did the work. It was relaxing for me. Monty still felt a little uncomfortable having me do most of the work in the kitchen, but I didn’t mind. It was my choice to do it. I enjoyed it. And it made things much smoother when I was working solo.
Since it was just a casual pancake breakfast this week and just the five of us, I didn’t really feel a need to shower before they came over. As such, I was still in my pyjamas most of the morning. They didn’t mind. We hung out for a while after brunch together. By the time everyone was getting ready to leave around two, I decided it was time to shower and make myself feel like a human again. “I’m running Scott’s place for a bit. We have a couple of things to go over with Charlie for next week’s game.” Monty explained when I was going to shower.
“No problem. I’ll just be here writing or reading or something.” From the bathroom I could hear him putzing around our room. I didn’t think too much of it. He was probably looking for a playbook or something.
After my shower, I wrapped my towels around me, fully prepared to throw on a pair of leggings and an oversized sweater for the rest of the day. Instead, I was puzzled to find a large white box in the centre of the bed. There was a bow and a single pink Post it note stuck to the lid. It simply said wear me on it in blue ink. I frowned in confusion but opened it anyway. Nestled inside was a classic, Hepburn-esque little black dress. I gasped and covered my mouth in shock. Gently lifting the dress out of the box I held it out at arm’s length to examine it. It was beautiful. This man is full of surprises. Not wanting to wrinkle the dress, I carefully set it on the bed while I grabbed a hanger.
Once it was hung up, I put on a pair of sweats and an old pyjama shirt. In the kitchen, I found another note next to the coffee machine. This one was on a yellow Post it, also in blue ink. No coffee. Look up. I frowned again. Why no coffee? Looking up on the underside of the cabinet, I found another yellow Post it. This one had an arrow pointing towards the living room. There, yet another Post it. This one was blue. There was another arrow pointing at the coat closet. A green Post it was stuck to the closet door. Be ready at 5:00. Wear your matching black pointy shoes. Now I was even more confused. Well, it says be ready. I shrugged and checked my watch. It was just past two. I rolled my eyes at the coffee note and made myself a cup anyway. I wouldn’t need to be up all night, but note be damned. I wanted coffee. I savoured it while I let my thoughts run wild of what could be in store for my night. At home fancy dress dinner? Going out for dinner? A walk in the financial district in the city? Hmmm. By two forty-five, I had finished my coffee and started getting ready.
I carefully put on the dress after I had washed my face again. I decided to curl my hair in tight ringlets so that when I brushed them out, they wouldn’t fall flat immediately. I let them set while I did my makeup. So, I didn’t get makeup all over my dress, I draped a towel around my neck to cover it. The simple black cat eye and blue red lipstick paired wonderfully with the classic, timeless style of the dress. A neutral blush and light bronzer added colour and balance to complete the look. I carefully brushed out the curls into nice waves framing my face. Using a decorative bobby pin, I pulled my bangs away from my face. Exiting our room after putting on my tennis bracelet-a birthday gift from my Gran a couple of years ago- I looked at the clock on the stove. It was four fifty. I had ten minutes to spare. Slipping on my heels, I went through my wallet and took out my ID and credit card. I had assumed that we would be going out and Monty usually kept my cards in his wallet.
The sound of a car pulling into our driveway pulled me from my thoughts. I opened the door when the car door shut. Monty was walking up to the house in a very familiar white dress shirt and black slacks. Damn, he cleans up good. I thought it every time he dressed up, no matter how often I saw it. His eyes widened slightly, and he stopped to take in my look. I stopped him in his tracks. I blushed and did a little twirl. He whistled through his teeth. “You look. Absolutely amazing.”
“You look incredible. Have I ever told you, you clean up really well?”
“Once or twice.” He shrugged. I smiled widely. He finished his walk up to the house and took my hands in his, really taking the time to take me in. “You really do look beautiful Addison.”
“Thank you.” I blushed again. My engagement ring sparkled in the setting sun. Monty’s black tungsten ring felt cool in my hand. Together, we walked to the car. We took my car, but I let him drive. It’s our insurance. “Are you going to tell me where we are going?”
“Nope.” He said as he pulled out of the driveway.
“Okay.” We chatted quietly on the way to our mystery location. Given the time, I assumed we were going to a restaurant. When we got closer to the county limits, I realized we were going into the city for dinner. I watched the cars speeding past us on the highway in the other direction. People were eager to be getting home from spending their days shopping or running errands.
I tried to figure out where we were going once we got to the city based on the turns Monty made. I was familiar with most of the downtown and financial districts due to visiting my dad at work when I was younger. I was a little surprised when he pulled in the parking lot for the new Italian place that opened last month. I wasn’t surprised because I was concerned about cost or anything like that. We just weren’t really fancy restaurant people very often. It was a pleasant surprise.
When he parked, we walked hand in hand to the door. He was a perfect gentleman and held the door not only for me but for the couple behind us. I smiled at him while we waited to be seated. He squeezed my hand. We were seated at a more secluded table, closer to the back of the restaurant. The table was lit by candlelight and dim recessed lighting in the aisle. It’s beautiful. Our waiter came by and introduced himself as Anthony. I ordered a cranberry juice with ice and Monty got a Coke. Anthony gave us a few minutes with the menus. As soon as I saw traditional carbonara on the menu, I had made a firm decision. Monty and I sat in comfortable silence while we perused the menu. Even though I knew what I wanted, it never hurt to look at the other options.
After we ordered-carbonara for me and lobster ravioli for Monty-Anthony left us to our evening. “This is really nice.” I said, after a sip of my juice.
“I figured we deserved nice. Or rather, you deserved nice. After everything… and I know you’ve been stressed about school. So, I figured you could use a night off.” He left the obvious tension between us and the cause for it unsaid. We both knew the reason.
“It’s still nice. And we do deserve it. This dress is beautiful by the way.”
“I thought you would like it.”
“When exactly did you acquire it?” I asked, with a sly raise of my brow.
“About yesterday…” Montgomery began, “Jamie wasn’t having girl troubles.”
“I kind of figured. Have they even decided if they have anything to have troubles over?”
“No. They’re still not together. But they go places together and buy each other things. And have sex. Apparently, there is a lot of sex.”
“But they aren’t dating.”
“No.”
“Maybe he is having girl troubles.”
“Maybe.” He chuckled. Anthony came by with our orders. Unsurprisingly, the food was delicious. Mouth wateringly delicious. My eyes widened in ecstasy. So did Monty’s after he took a bite of his own food. We each shared a bite with each other and smiled. So good. So so good.
We spent the rest of our evening talking and enjoying being with each other. It was very nice. We hadn’t gotten to do the whole going out and just being together thing in a while. I pushed the last of my carbonara around on my plate. I wasn’t bored exactly. I was having a wonderful time. “Hey. Where’d you go?” Monty reached across the table to take my hand.
“Oh. Nowhere. I was just thinking.”
“Penny for your thoughts?”
“This is really nice.” I paused.
“But…?”
“I would honestly much rather be at home in sweatpants watching the new episodes of Law & Order from the other night.”
“Me too.” He giggled. I couldn’t help but giggle along with him. He motioned to our waiter for the bill. The black holder was placed in between us. Monty placed some cash inside and set it down without so much as a glance at me. He helped me with my coat and took my hand after he put on his own. As soon as we got out of the restaurant, I stopped and turned to him.
“Race you to the car.” I grinned before taking off like a bat out of hell. I heard him bark out a laugh behind me. I didn’t look back. Nor did I turn when I heard his footsteps. He wasn’t running because of his knee. They were getting closer though. Even without running, he was able to gain on me because of his gait. Running in heels was not the easiest thing in the world but I managed to beat him to the car. When he arrived with the keys, I was grinning at him, triumphantly from the passenger’s side. “I won.”
“Yes you did.” He was grinning back at me.
When we got home, the two of us changed into our comfiest sweatpants and t-shirts. I threw on my old Tigers hoodie and popped a bag of popcorn in the microwave after taking off my makeup. Monty pulled up the recorded episodes. I couldn’t tell if he wore his grey sweats on purpose or not. We got comfortable on the couch and hit play. From the get-go this episode of SVU had both of us on the edge of our seats. The popcorn was mostly untouched. I teared up multiple times. When it was over, I ripped the remote from the coffee table and scrolled up to the new episode of Organized Crime. I couldn’t stand to wait any longer than strictly necessary. Our eyes were glued to the screen for the whole hour, minus the fast forwarding through commercials. By the end, we turned to each other in shock. “Wow.” Was all I could say about it.
“The new theme song is pretty great.”
“Yes. I don’t know how to process any other thoughts about it though.”
“Me either.”
“Very worth the wait.” Monty only nodded in response. I yawned and stretched. It was getting pretty late. The afternoon coffee I had wore off a while ago.
“Tired Bookworm?” I yawned again and nodded. Monty carried me to bed and tucked me in. I cuddled up beside him.
Before falling asleep I mumbled, “thank you for tonight. Was really nice. Ni’ night.”

King I would love that essay about Changing Channels
Fjdjshjdhdjd thanks for reading my tags Jesse you're the real VIP here.
Okay SO "Changing Channels" is the 8th episode of the 5th season of Supernatural. I give this information bc it's important in looking at the context of the episode - now I've complained a LOT about how SPN is terrible at giving us canonical timeframes within the episodes (y'all i was SHOCKED to discover the first season is supposed to cover a little over a year's worth of time, I thought it was like... 4 or 5 months) so I can't say for sure how long before and after the other episodes happen in-universe around "Changing Channels" BUT
The episode before is "The Curious Case of Dean Winchester" where Dean and Bobby bet years of their lives in a game of poker with a witch. The episode after is "The Real Ghostbusters" where Sam and Dean end up at a fan convention for the in-universe Supernatural novels.
Why am I pointing this out? Because it's important, please, no audience participation, this is like a Brian David Gilbert panel.
[under a cut bc this got...... STUPID long. Who knew I still had this many opinions about SPN in 2020?]
Okay first of all I wanna talk about the cinnamon topography of this episode - I love the way the first 5 seasons are shot because you really feel the americana gothic horror aesthetic they were going for (I have a whole ‘nother rant about the first 5 seasons vs the last 10 but thats for another time). Everything is a little washed out and grey-toned, the camera angles generally serve to make Sam and Dean appear even taller than they actually are (larger than life - again, another post for another time), and there’s honestly a LOT of shots from the ‘monster’s’ perspective, which is really neat! I’ve said it before (on another blog - YES i have a dedicated spn rant blog, don’t @ me hdjfhfjfh) but the episode that really got me hooked on spn back in the day was the second one, about the w*ndigo. Yes, it’s a racist, culturally appropriating shitstorm, but the way its SHOT is fantastic. I’m honestly not a horror fan, but that episode could have easily relied on jumpscares and they DIDN’T and it was scary as all fucking hell and just - fuck okay getting off topic.
In “Changing Channels” we get that distinctive grey-washed tone in the beginning and the very end of the episode, but the middle? When they’re in TV Land? Everything is bright. Almost comically so, I mean - okay look at these two shots of Sam (apologies about the crappy phone pics, netflix won't let me screenshot)
This one is from the start of the episode, in the "real" police station
And this is from a little later in the "TV" hospital
Ignoring that my phone is washing him out a lot in both pics, you can still see the warmer tones in the hospital shot as compared to the cold greyness in the police station one
Okay, now look at this picture
Dean inside the Impala, and those warm tones are back. Why? Because even though Sam and Dean believe that they’re back in the “real” world, they aren’t - so instead of the grey-washed shots that we’re used to, its the bright and warm shots that we see in “TV Land”! So the viewers pick up, even if its just subconsciously, that the boys aren’t out of the woods yet - everything is still too bright to be the in-universe reality we’ve come to expect from SPN by season 5
Which is also why i love this shift so much
These shots are literally SECONDS apart. The first is in "TV Land" and the second is in the "real" world. I have some red strip lights behind my bed, which are reflecting off my laptop screen - notice how much brighter they seem in the second picture? That’s because literally all of the warm colors have been drained out of the shot. As soon as Gabriel snaps them all back into “reality,” things get so much colder.
Okay, so the second thing I want to talk about is some of the very pointed dialogue choices within the “shows” the Winchesters take part in. Not between Sam and Dan and Gabriel, but from the, for lack of a better term, NPCs within the shows.
In the hospital, Dr. Piccolo tells Sam that he is “the finest cerebrovascular neurosurgeon I have ever met - and I have met plenty! So that girl died on your table; it wasn’t your fault. It wasn’t anybody’s fault. Sometimes people just die.” Standard cheesy soap opera dialogue - but lemme just swap some words here and -
“You are the finest hunter I have ever met - and I have met plenty! So that girl died on your hunt; it wasn’t your fault. It wasn’t anybody’s fault. Sometimes people just die.”
Or even -
“You are the finest hunter I have ever met - and I have met plenty! So Jessica and Mary died above you; it wasn’t your fault. It wasn’t anybody’s fault [but Azazel’s]. Sometimes people just die.”
Keeping in mind that the NPCs are basically Gabriel’s mouthpieces, its easy to see why so many people ship Sabriel. I’d actually love to see a fic that explores them talking about this moment in particular later on and the kind of gentle forgiveness that Gabriel can give Sam... getting off topic again.
In an abrupt about-face, the herpes commercial (much meme’d within the fandom) is straight up Gabriel shaming Sam. Because if you replace “genital herpes” with “demon blood” it’s.... dark. And very intentional.
So that’s what I did! (I combined all spoken lines to make the message easier to read, rather than splitting them up across 3 speakers as in the episode)
“I’ve drank demon blood. I tried to be responsible... did I try. But now, after being forcibly detoxed, I fight my addiction every day to reduce the chances of passing back into that toxic mindset. Ask your loved ones about a demon blood intervention today. [...] I am doing all I can to slightly lessen the chance of drinking demon blood again. And that’s a good thing.”
Like... the subtext throughout this episode sure is. Something.
Okay this is getting ridiculously long so I wanna wrap up by talking about The Best Scene In The Whole Goddamn Show
I’m talking, of course, about Gabriel’s Confession
“Max,” you might be saying, “there are so many better scenes out there, even within the first five seasons!” and to that i say, again, no audience participation, please. Also, you’re WRONG and here’s why!
Gabriel’s confession hits every goddamn emotional chord that the fandom begged for on this show - fear, rage, grief, pain, guilt, and even, yes, absolution.
Okay, here’s the scene again for those of you who don’t think about it at least once a week like me
youtube
Now this video is missing some of the conversation, but most of it is there, enough for you to see what I’m talking about. Gabriel up to this point has been, essentially, a nameless antagonist - this is the third episode he appeared in, and before this, we didn’t even know he was going by Loki. He was just referred to as ‘The Trickster’. But here, not only do we get a name (a real name at that), but we also get a glimpse of his backstory and a hell of a lot of character development in less than 5 minutes. I mean, Sam didn’t get this much character development throughout the entirety of season 1! There’s a good reason Gabriel has been a fan-favorite for a very long time, and I think a big part of it is this particular scene.
Because here, we get to see Gabriel being vulnerable. And we even see Dean show a little vulnerability, as he can empathize being the third party to explosive arguments between the two people who mean everything to him.
I mean... okay, it will never see the light of day, but I wrote a little bit of a Reverse ‘Verse fic (because I’m a sucker for Reverse ‘Verse) and this was the scene I started with. Not s1e1, not even the resurrection in s4e1, but this scene. Because this scene, more than any other, is critical to the way not only Gabriel’s (first) arc plays out, but also to how Sam and Dean conduct themselves for the rest of the season (and maybe a bit beyond, it’s been a hot minute since I watched s6 and later). Dean is angry but determined, he has a point to make, he is going to save Sammy and if he can’t do that, then he’s going to damn well die trying. But Sam... it’s after this episode that we start really seeing how bone-achingly tired Sam is. It’s after this conversation - where one of the other archangels, one of the few beings who can truly understand how powerful Michael and Lucifer are - says that there’s no other way around this that Sam seems to start inching towards giving in. Saying yes.
Sure, in the actual episode, he seems outraged by the idea, practically scoffs at it - “you want us to say yes to those sons of bitches?” - but it’s after this where Sam really seems run down.
I mean, look at the episodes before and after (HAH you thought I forgot about that first point I made at the very beginning of this post! I did, briefly, but I’ve circled back to it, thanks for being understanding). In “The Curious Case of Dean Winchester,” Sam behaves much as he did since the start of s4, which is to say, ‘annoying little know-it-all brother tossed into the middle of the apocalypse and just trying his best’ and it works well for the mad scramble for any scrap of information that’s happening in s4/early s5.
But in “The Real Ghostbusters” it’s different. This is another funny meta episode - except, while Sam and Dean are technically aware of the joke, they aren’t as amused by it as the audience is. And it’s not because of the ghosts. It’s because they’re just... done. Especially Sam. Dean has that nice little moment with the cosplayers at the end of the episode, but Sam... threatens to shoot Chuck. Sam ‘goes darkside’ more often than pretty much any other character in the show, but that moment is different. It’s a flat promise, not a threat. He’s not being an asshole, like he is after losing his soul. He’s just... done. And it’s obvious to see.
Gabriel’s confession is the turning point for Sam in s5, and it informs a lot of his behavior through the rest of s5, and possibly beyond! Like I said, I haven’t watched past s5 in a very long time, so I don’t feel confident enough to analyze that specific sort of character line, but I feel confident in saying that hearing one of the most powerful beings in the universe basically say “it doesn’t matter what you do - your destiny is unavoidable” and then he’s proven right (Sam says yes to Lucifer, and Dean eventually does say yes to Michael down the line!)... like, that’s really gotta fuck up your world view that was built on free will and throwing off the shackles of fate. Sam managed to avoid his ‘destiny’ in s2... but then it turns out that that wasn’t ever his destiny. Lucifer was his destiny.
Talk about an obscured view of the inner self.

Can you write one when mc is sad as Kingsley failed her in a class and poppy comes running to hug mc and says we are in this together
Poppy x MC
An F? Ina you can't be serious! I may be ignoring your lectures and take selfies and send provoking messages to Poppy..okay fine i get it but what??? When you were buying me drinks at the bar the only F you wanted is to fuck me and now i fail your class? Oh hell no
"Is everything alright Bea?" Ina asks and i just realize i am the only one who stayed behind, Great
I stand up from my seat approaching her desk furious. I slam down the test Infront of her and she jumps in surprise
"Did you seriously fail me in your class?"
Ina raises her eyebrow almost laughing. What's funny huh?
"I can't treat you differently than any other student and you know it"
Oh yea? That's why we slept together and you cant get your eyes off of me? Poppy is already jealous of Ina even though i explained to her that she means nothing to me. But how wouldn't she? She undresses me with her eyes everytime i pass through the hallways
"But an F?? Since i got with Poppy my grades fell apart!!" I rise my tone intentionally but she doesn't even look up from her papers
Ina looks at me amused taking the test on her hands "On question four when you were asked why can't homosexuality be accepted by some people in today's society you said and i quote" she smirks almost losing her control
"People are threatened by us because the gays are Queens to be feared"
"Hello? Because we are! Except you of course, you are no fun" i say rolling my eyes
"Maybe if you paid more attention rather than.. having distractions you would do better"
Oh she didn't just go there! Is Miss professor is jealous just because someone else gives me attention and love? I will never forget how i died to hear a 'hello' from her but now she is insignificant
"Someone is jealous because i upgraded" i cross my arms chuckling
Ina finally looks up from her papers and i can see her eyes get dark with anger not desire
"I am working so you are dismissed" she says waving her hand lazily
"Ugh whatever, i don't care about your stupid class anyways" and just like that i grab my bag exiting the class
I feel tears forming in my eyes and all i want to do is go back to my dorm and eat ice cream and watch Killing Eve but before i can even fantasize about it i can see Poppy walking through the hallway
She doesn't seem to notice me as Chloe is up in her face but i call out her name getting her attention. She is extremely beautiful today, she is wearing a white short skirt with her favourite pink sweater, how adorable
She isn't far away and i am glad she heard me. She turns around flipping her beautiful smooth long blonde hair giving me the most sexy look on this planet
Everything fades. The hallway disappear. Every person is insignificant and becomes invisible. Its just me and her separated by a few feet. Headlights, camera, action
I smile at her before i start advancing towards her. Have you seen those cheesy rom coms where they run to eachother's hug? Well that's my version. I approach closer, running faster, i am getting closer to her, she will finally hold me. How long has it been since i felt her arms wrapped around me? 45 mimutes i think
I take another step but this wouldn't be my edition if it wasn't a disaster. I fall flat to my stomach and Poppy is horrified at this point. She is probably planning her break up speech or something. Did i embarrass her? Clumsy achievement unlocked.
Alright, alright headlights, camera and.. action! Once i stand up i continue my attempt to look cute, like seriously. I finally jump to her hug and she loses her balance
"What the hell was that??" She asks trying to push me back but i pull her against me tighter
Aaaand i am back to reality everyone is laughing at me but i don't care. That bitch Kingsley failed me
I bet someone took a video of my rom com version, at least i will go viral
"Miss Kingsley failed me in her class" i say sniffing like an actual baby
Poppy holds me tight pulling away enough to look at my face "well that was dramatic don't you think?" She rolls her eyes almost smiling
"Well yea but i can't believe she had the audacity to call me out like that"
She suddenly lets me go off her hug and i am about to protest but then i see her pulling out her phone dealing a number
"What are you--"
"Daddy? Yes its me. There is this really mean professor here and she doesn't like me at all. Yea she is so rude Daddy she called my new heels ugly.. really? Thank you! You are the best i love you" and just like that she hangs up smiling at me
"What did you just do?" I ask gasping
"Oh nothing, my Daddy will pay a visit and talk with the Dean tomorrow" her evil laugh fills the hallway "she shouldn't mess with my girl, we are in this together"
Without wasting a second i crush my lips against hers giving her soft kisses that lead to a steamy make-out session. And thats Poppy folks, an overprotective woman who has all the power in the world.
And i am Bea Hughes and you are watching Disney- okay fine no that's a bad joke. And i am a drama Queen who has an attitude sponsored by Poppy Min-Sinclair herself but together we are unstoppable.

sweater paws - jjk
pairing: jeongguk x reader
genre/warnings: youtuber!au, the fluffiest fluff, jeongguk says to adopt don’t shop i heard him say it at least twice
word count: 1,874
summary: “these have been done before but I don’t care I love her” - a series on gcguk in which jeongguk tackles old, cheesy YouTube couple challenges. episode three: the ‘where am i?’ challenge or the responsibly adopt a dog for my half unsuspecting girlfriend challenge
a/n: technically part 3 of idcilh but mostly just a part of the general youtuber!guk series (all of which are linked on my masterlist!!)
“Do you have any guesses where I might be taking you for your last location?”
Jeongguk couldn’t help but laugh at your indignant, non articulate response that was instead a series of disgruntled noises through pouted lips. Your arms were folded tightly to your chest, one knee curled inward and he could tell by the knit of your eyebrows and the scrunch of your nose that you were glaring behind the bandanna tied carefully around your eyes.
“Ice cream, maybe?” You tried, tone hopeful until you added sharply, “You owe me, to be honest.”
In an effort to fulfill the requirements for the Where am I? challenge, Jeongguk had led your unsuspecting figure into the depths of Jimin and Taehyung’s apartment, letting you believe that he’d just driven you in circles for an hour only to end up back at your own apartment. When you ‘locked in’ your guess as the living room, Jimin and Taehyung had appeared wielding unlit lightsabers and promptly scaring the shit out of you while Jeongguk just cackled behind the lens of your camera.
Your second location had been the park where you and Jeongguk often walked, the pond at the park to be exact, the bank of it where the tiniest bit of water lipped onto the inclined sand. It eventually soaked through the toes of your tennis shoes when Jeongguk had said, quote, you’ll be able to guess if you just take one more step forward, yeah, there— only to elicit a startled squeak from your throat and a pout to your lips when Jeongguk sat you down in the passenger seat of the car and carefully rolled new socks and shoes on your feet that he’d packed specifically for that part of the video.
His surprise locations hadn’t been nearly as shocking as yours. You’d taken him to mall, forced him to wander through at the guide of only your hand, and then guess what shop you’d placed him inside. He’d guessed Urban Outfitters when it was instead a specialty toy shop. His second location had been the tattoo shop of one of his close friends, the one who had slowly been adding to the little pieces of ink all over his knuckles. It was no exception and he guessed it immediately after a tiny yelp with the first touch of the tattoo gun, even allowing the artist to etch out the last of the tiny heart on the bend of his thumb after he’d pulled the blindfold off.
“Why do I owe you?” Jeongguk wondered innocently, only to have to duck into himself when you swung a searching arm to smack his chest and scold goodnaturedly stop trying to hit the driver.
“You got a tattoo and that new Overwatch figurine you were wanting out of this challenge,” You settled back into your seat with a huff, “I’ve got Jimin’s lightsaber that doesn’t work anymore and a pair of wet socks.”
He continued to beam, cheeks hurting from the stretch of his smile as he rested a wrist on the steering wheel at a stoplight, glancing at you again. “I think you’ll like this last place,” He tried to soothe, careful in not startling you when he touched your thigh to give it a soft squeeze, “It’ll all be worth it.”
“Is it the apartment? Please tell me it’s the apartment.”
Jeongguk laughed, palm on the wheel as he accelerated through the intersection and flicked on the turn signal, “I’ll give you another free hint this round. No, it’s not the apartment.”
He angled the car down the long gravel drive, catching the way you perked in his peripheral at the sound caused by the change in terrain. Carefully, he guided the vehicle into the parking spot directly in front of the door to the building, hands shaking in bubbling anticipation as he turned off the ignition and passed his keys into one palm, gathering his camera off the dash into the other.
“Stay here, I have to go make sure they’re ready for us.”
“Jeon Jeongguk you better not leave me in here by myself.”
“I’ll be no more than thirty seconds. Count. If I’m not back, you can take the blindfold off and come find me.”
There was a visible cheer in Jeongguk’s stride as he bounded up the stairs of the building, nudging his way inside with the camera carefully balanced.
He’d planned this for weeks, communicating with the staff members on various occasions, confirming fees and applications and waivers and consent for filming. All of which came to a head when three staff members greeted him at the exact same time, only for one to warily confirm, “Jeongguk, right?”
He nodded, sticking out a straight arm for them to shake his hand, “Hi. Nice to meet you.”
“She’s all ready for you…” The staff member’s eyes shined gently at the excitement of the man on the other end of their clasped hands, “We’re ready when you are.”
Jeongguk rushed out something about I’ll go get her, be right back, only to dash back out the door with shaky camera work in fear that you’d taken his promise seriously and had ditched the blindfold. You hadn’t, and he found you the same way he’d left you, still pouting but slightly curious in the way you tilted your head and then jerked it when he opened your door.
“Do I hear dogs barking?” Was the first thing you asked, curious in expression but tight in the way you gripped his hands that aided you out of the car.
“I’m afraid I can’t disclose that information.” Jeongguk muttered something to you about there being stairs, easing you across them and then underneath his arm as he held open the front door for you.
Cupped hands on your shoulders situated you in the center of the lobby area and he could no longer contain any fraction of the giddy grin that overtook the entirety of your features as slowly the pieces began to fall together for you.
“Can I guess yet?”
Jeongguk directed the camera at you as the staff member from before came out from one of the back rooms cradling a golden ball of fur with a neat red bow perched on top of its head. “Go ahead, babe.”
“The animal shelter? Wait!—” You turned in the general direction of his voice to correct, “—specifically the animal shelter we visited a few weeks ago. The one on the other end of the city…”
He traded possessions with the staff member, letting them takeover his camera while he delicately adjusted the puppy in his grasp, moving to stand directly in front of you. “Okay,” He said, “You can take the blindfold off.”
You were tentative in crooking your fingers underneath the bandanna, tugging upward in short, gradual spurts until it was hanging limply off the end of your index finger. You blinked, bleary for the first few seconds of adjusting to the light, adjusting to your surroundings, adjusting to what was standing directly in front of you.
“I was right…” You trailed off, squinting at Jeongguk while some of the staff members began to laugh among themselves. Your pointed gaze shifted to the puppy in his arms.
Dumbly, you said, “That’s a dog.”
Jeongguk just grinned while the laughter of the staff grew a bit louder, “Mhm. Your dog.”
You stumbled on the words my dog? as they came off your tongue, accepting the puppy when Jeongguk placed her in your arms. You held her close, disbelief still evident even as your heart began to roar in your ears and you nuzzled into the puppy’s soft fur with your nose.
“I…” You squinted at him this time to dispel some of the involuntary tears that had gathered in your water line but rather than them disappearing, they began gentle tracks down the slope of your nose, “You adopted her?”
“Technically we adopted her,” He subconsciously reached for your face, thumb brushing away the tears as they came, “Yes. She’s ours now.”
You mumbled something about not fair and something jumbled about what his last location was supposed to be and how it didn’t even matter and didn’t compare anyway before silent tears began to fall more freely, tucking your chin into your chest as you hugged the puppy a bit closer. Jeongguk motioned to the staff member with his camera and they cut the direction of the lens to the floor, a fond smile on their lips as they gave him an encouraging thumbs up and began to step aside with the other people who’d appeared to watch the scene unfold. He wrapped an arm around your waist and behind your shoulders, coaxing you into his embrace with more soft laughter.
“Don’t cry, baby girl,” Jeongguk’s lips touched your wet cheek, holding you gently as you nuzzled into his sweater, “Do you like her?”
A noise of affirmation rumbled softly in your chest as you adjusted the dog in your grip, peering down at her as her tiny pink tongue came to stretch for your cheek. It only made you cry and smile harder, something Jeongguk laughed unabashedly at as he settled his chin on your shoulder.
“Thank you,” You murmured, leaning your cheek against his.
“Alright,” His voice shifted back into vlogging mode once you’d settled back into the car, the puppy in your lap and wrapped up in a slew of blankets you hadn’t registered Jeongguk packing into the backseat before you’d taken off on your filming adventure. He tilted the shot toward you, “So have you figured out that the challenge was just a lie to get you here?”
“You made me step in a pond for a puppy?” Your attention directed to the puppy who placed a tiny paw on your chest and stretched to lick toward your chin again. “Honestly? Worth it.”
Jeongguk grinned, stretching the camera again until it sat on the dash to capture both of your figures beyond the steering wheel. “Glad to hear it,” He leaned over the middle console, “and what do you think, little girl?”
She turned her attention from trying to lick you to successfully licking Jeongguk, planting a series of fat stripes of his scrunched nose until he pulled away.
“You think that means she’s cool with becoming a member of our little family?”
The question made you unwillingly emotional as tears began to well over in your vision, blurring the way Jeongguk panicked and leaned closer again to plant his lips on yours before fishing for his camera.
“I think that’s it for this video. No, before you ask, we don’t have a name yet... All the links for the animal shelter will be in the description if you’d like to check them out and please do check them out, there are so many animals in shelters who need homes…”
“And other than that?” Jeongguk glanced over his shoulder to where you were cooing quietly at the puppy, heart inflating then seizing in his throat and the onslaught of tears still visible on your cheeks began to seep over into his own being.
“I guess my girls and I will see you in the next video…”

Serious question, peanut butter or nutella? Oh you are just mean. Nutella is amazing as a filling or icing, but when it comes down to it I guess I look for peanut butter more often. I love both though.
Do you prefer baked potatoes or mashed potatoes? Mashed. But baked potatoes are pretty good too; the only reason I didn’t pick it is that I don’t get to have it as often as I do mashed.
What is your oldest sibling’s middle name? I’m the eldest sibling, but my sister, who comes after me, has Beatrice as her second name if that’s what you mean by middle name.
Do you like breadsticks? Yes. The more cheesy-garlicky, the better.
What are your favorite things to spend money on? Merch or food.
Which would you rather have a new puppy or kitten? Puppy. Not the biggest fan of cats.
How old will you be on your next birthday? 24.
Do you ever feel self-conscious when you eat around other people? If it’s the combination of having to be around people I’m not too close with, like workmates, and I’m eating something that tends to be messy, like jjajangmyeon, then yeah I can definitely feel conscious.
When you opened your eyes this morning, what were your first thoughts? I fell asleep from 11 PM to around 3 AM and when I woke up then I thought “ugh, I fell asleep early again?”
What is one thing in the room you’re in that reminds you of somebody? My vape pen constantly reminds me of Andi because they were the one who gave it to me.
Could you ever be friends with somebody who was homophobic? No.
Would you ever want to be a supermodel, or date one? I did want to be one, at one point. It was all a matter of being stuck with the wrong crowd at the time lol.
Honestly, have you ever made fun of somebody so bad they cried? Probably with my sister when we were very young.
Honestly, would you rather be complimented on your looks or intelligence? Intelligence.
Have you ever purchased a pregnancy test, for yourself or otherwise? I never have.
You can get one thing, anything, for free right now. What do you pick? Why? A 1 or 2 TB hard drive. My phone has reached the stage where I’m starting to have to constantly delete shit so I don’t reach the maximum storage, so I need someplace to dump all my photos and videos in to free up my phone.
Honestly, have you ever danced naked? Nope.
What was the first illegal thing that you did? Did you get caught? I dunno...buy pirated movies? I didn’t get ‘caught’ since pirated movie stalls are widespread here anyway, so for the most part I’ve always been more concerned for them than I am for myself.
What is the home page on the computer you’re on? Technically it’s supposed to be the Google home screen, but I have an extension that shows me my to-do list for the day.
Do you like to write poetry? Nah, that’s always been my Achilles’ heel when it comes to writing.
Are your ears pierced? Yup. Surprisingly enough they’ve never closed up despite never having worn earrings (clip-ons notwithstanding) in the last 13 years.
If so, were they pierced with a piercing gun, or with a sterile needle? I’m not sure, since my mom had them pierced when I was a baby. I would guess piercing gun, though.
Do you wear makeup regularly? I never wear makeup.
Did you eat cereal for breakfast today? I never have cereal unless I’m staying at hotels. It’s just never been something I look for.
When was the last time you tripped over something? A box that was lying around in my room.
Any obsessive-compulsive tendencies? I’ll sometimes get concerned with how many times I have to flick the switch of our hot water dispenser or open and close the refrigerator door before I feel completely satisfied...but I dunno if that counts.
Who was the last person you yelled at? Technically...Angela? I was filming an unboxing video for a gift she randomly got me and I loved the gift so much I was yelling my excitement through the screen.
Why did you yell at them? ^ That.
Favorite type of apple? I don’t like fruits.
Ever seen live horse racing? No, it’s not something that interests me.
How about live greyhound racing? I don’t even know what that looks like.
What’s one thing, besides the obvious, that you couldn’t live without? The arts, I guess. I need something to listen to, to watch, etc on a regular basis.
Have you ever touched a giraffe? I don’t think so.
What does your mom call you? Robyn, or the Filipino term parents use for their kids.
What stresses you out the most in life? A particular client at work. We have a million campaigns going on for them at any given point so my life virtually revolves around that brand these days.
Do you play any PC games? What is your favorite? Nope.
If you were pregnant, how would you tell the father? Well, that would depend on the circumstances. Did we want a baby? Was it a bad surprise, a happy surprise? I can't answer this with just one idea. < Yeah.
What’s the hardest level you can play on Guitar Hero? If I’m using a Playstation controller, I can go Hard or Expert. But my finger coordination with the actual guitar controller is terrible and I fail most songs even at Easy.
What ever happened with you and your first boyfriend? There was never any ‘boyfriend,’ but my first girlfriend and I have basically had a falling out and I haven’t talked to her in months, and I expect it to continue being that way.
What’s your favorite country song? I don’t have any.
What is the worst thing a former boyfriend/girlfriend has done to you? Putting her pride and anger first even when I’m obviously in a state of disstress or breakdown in front of her. That’s some emotional rollercoaster I’m glad I don’t have to deal with anymore.
What were you for Halloween last year? Just Dora the Explorer again, which was a repeat from the year before that.
Are you feeling guilty for something? I don’t think so; at least there isn’t anything I’m actively feeling guilty about at the moment.
Are you usually quiet or loud? I think I’m in between? I’m pretty loud but I can space out at the most random moments hahaha.
How many hours do you spend on the computer a day? This question always makes me wince at myself...I guess anywhere between 16-18 hours? The only time I put my laptop down is when I’m off to bed, but otherwise it’s constantly open.
What is the show that you watched when you were little, and you still do? I don’t think there is such a show.
Do your siblings text you? Nope. We live under the same roof 24/7 so there’s been little need to text.
Do you want a small or big wedding? Big.
Have you ever searched for your own house on Google Earth? Yes, but that was when Google Earth was still super bare so I wasn’t able to see the actual house anyway, but just the general area where we’re located. I haven’t used Google Earth in years.
Who is your ex dating/talking to? I don’t know and I hoooonestly could not care less.
Ever kissed someone who smokes? Yep.
Does it take a lot for someone to annoy you? Depends on my mood. I have my moments where it’s very easy for me to get irritated.
Do you own your own computer? I mean it was bought for me, but I didn’t get it with money I earned.
Did you ever have to share a room with one of your siblings? When my brother was starting to mature, my sister and I very very briefly experimented sharing a room, but it lasted like all of two weeks. My parents ultimately just transferred our balcony to a bedroom so that all three of us had our own rooms.
What noises in the room you’re in, do you hear at the moment? An airplane is flying above me at the moment so I can hear its engine. I can also hear some crickets chirping and the faint barking of dogs.
Have you ever dated someone with longer hair than yours? Yup.
What’s the biggest upcoming event for you? I guess my second vaccine dose is kinda big? It’s happening this Friday.
What do you typically order from Wendy’s? I rarely get Wendy’s tbh, but when I do I usually go for their Baconator.
Have you ever been given a lapdance by an actual stripper? No, it’s not something I would be into.
What do you love most about yourself? Continued the next day because I am terrible at taking a survey in one go. I like that I don’t hesitate to do or buy things for my loved ones, not even inwardly. I guess it’s because my family has always lived very practically, so I want to make up for that by spoiling my friends.
Have you ever received a hickey from the last person you kissed? Yes.
What are you doing right now? I am supposed to be at work but it’s a relatively quiet day, so I’m here. I do have my screen split between Tumblr and my emails though, so that I’d be able to see if new work will come in hahaha.
What’s bothering you right now? Quiet work days always make me anxious because it makes me think if I’m forgetting about something crucial.
What was the last thing you drank? I literally just took a sip of my coffee before moving on to this question.
Be honest, do you like people in general? Depends on the situation, I think. Like when I go to concerts, I know I’m around people I share the same interests with, so there’s a sense of solidarity that goes with that. But when I’m like...I dunno, lining up to get my license renewed at a government office, I know people there are in a rush and tend to get rude, and that makes me feel a little bit overwhelmed. I don’t think this is something I can generalize.
Do you want your tongue pierced? No. Lip I can consider, but I have to pass on tongue.
Do you change your phone background a lot? I do these days, yeah.
Have you ever made someone so mad that they broke something? Possibly.
Have you ever been strip searched? I’ve been searched, but was never asked to strip.
Do you have a funny last name? Does anyone make fun of it? No, it’s an ordinary surname.
Ever have a drug overdose? What did you OD on exactly? Never.
Do you get sick of people who call themselves bipolar all the time? I get sick of people who call themselves bipolar, and of people who use ‘bipolar’ to describe someone else who just has your typical mood swings.
Describe your day so far in three words: Business as usual.
What was the most stressful project you had so far/while in school? I was once designated as a leader for a science investigative project, which didn’t make sense because science was definitely not my strongest point. Needless to say it didn’t go well and I ended up being a terrible leader. Choose one- Butterfinger, Milky Way, Snickers: Butterfinger, even though they’re a bitch to eat and chew.
Have you ever stepped in dog poop? Maybe once or twice. It fortunately doesn’t happen a lot.
What was the last thing you spent money on? I got Angela and Reena cheese tarts. The reason behind it was Jin held a VLIve last Monday and he had been eating egg tarts during the stream; and because I was happy to have watched my first Jin live, I got my friends cheese tarts hahaha. I don’t know a lot of places that sells good egg tarts so I settled for cheese tarts instead, which I think are better anyway.
Have you ever slept in the same bed with the last person you kissed? Yeah.
Is there a guy that knows a lot about you? I guess Hans? We personally don’t get to have a lot of heart-to-heart exchanges, but considering how Angela’s my greatest confidante I’m sure she has shared bits of my life to him, which I don’t mind.
Is there someone you just can’t imagine your life without? I don’t really like answering this question anymore because the people that I’ve declared ‘for keeps’ have faded out of my life at some point. I’m a lot more guarded and self-preservation-y when it comes to this now.
Do you prefer Starbucks coffee or small cafe coffee? Ooooh, both. I love coffee.
Would you ever consider getting a piercing in your septum? No.
Do you enjoy being outdoors? If the weather is nice, yes.
Do people tell you that you have an accent? I mean I’ve been told my English is strong, but my accent in particular doesn’t really get noted.
Do you enjoy watching fireworks on the 4th of July? I don’t celebrate that.
What’re some unspeakable subjects for you? I don’t like talking about my brother. Otherwise I am pretty open about everything.
Is there anyone you would take a bullet for? Several people come to mind.
Do you enjoy tanning? If I’m at the beach, sure. It’s honestly not something I have to constantly keep up with, though, since I’m already naturally tan enough. Are you a virgin? No.
Who’s your celebrity crush? Taehyung :(
Did or do you get good grades in English class? I always got pretty good grades in English.
What part of your body are you self-conscious about? Teeth, and my legs sometimes.
Are you expected to help fix Thanksgiving dinner? I don’t celebrate that.
Have you ever lost anyone close to cancer? Yes.
Do you personally know anyone who is transgender? Yes.
When was the last time you got a shot? Last month, then I’m getting my second dose tomorrow.

The Sabotage of Simkung House - Part 1
[Stray Kids Multi Fic - 5K Words/20Min. Read - Lee Know x Female Reader - Non-Idol!au, Variety!au - NSFW/Smut, Plot - Reverse Harems, Variety Shows, Secret Hook-Ups]
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Masterlist | Feedback
This was your weirdest casting call yet. The assistant was taking the longest time looking back and forth from your headshot to your CV, and it was making you anxious. You could be doing better things on a Thursday night than get scrutinized more than usual. Finally, after an agonizing fifteen minutes of near silence on your end, the assistant motioned for the casting director to come over. This new person looked from the CV, to the headshot, to you, in a repeated loop until they ultimately asked you to stand up, turn in a circle, and walk around the room. You felt like a show dog, but relief finally came as the casting director motioned for you to follow, not leave. Was this your weirdest casting call ever? Probably. Would you pass up an opportunity to sign? Of course not.
Yet another eager assistant trotted up to intercept you as casting led you down the hall. “I got this,” he explained, politely shooing away the casting director and redirecting you into a new office.
“Hi,” he greeted as he sat you in a chair, “so we’re glad you're here. I’m Felix,” he introduced himself, offering you a hand to shake before he sat you in a chair in front of the big desk in the room. He remained standing as he animatedly explained himself. “I’m the assistant for our executive producer. We know this has been a little unorthodox.”
“That's fine! I know some AV producers have really high standards,” you shrugged with a polite smile. You hadn't been shooting adult videos long, but in the time since you started you’d definitely had some weird auditions. None as weird as this, still, but weird nonetheless.
“Right,” Felix nodded, “we were impressed with your materials. I'm already familiar with your work--” he blurted out before cranking back, biting into his lip as he blushed. You modestly nodded for him to continue. “--but I never realized you had such credentials otherwise. You have a very nice acting resume.”
“I've never needed both before,” you explained apologetically, “so I just left everything on there.”
“No no! It’s better than I could've dreamed of. I had no clue you went to school. And you’re bilingual? I thought I recalled you using English once or twice in streams, but I never realized--” Felix paused again, realizing his continued admission. You nodded for him to get going once again.
“Don’t be embarrassed,” you kindly encouraged, “I’m glad you’re familiar with my work.”
“I am,” he eagerly nodded as he pulled some materials out from a folder sitting on the desk , “And we want you. So can I explain?” He waited for your approval once more before he launched in. We’re casting a new variety show. It’s called Noesengnam House.” The first piece of material he slid across the desk was a logo: a cheesy, bubbly text in front of a silhouette of a chiseled man with a graduation cap on. You raised an eyebrow. However, being enthusiastic was key to landing any gig, so despite any doubts you put on a smile.
“Alright. So we’re focusing on smart, sexy guys?”
“We’re making smart, sexy guys,” Felix clarifies, and he’s so proud as he passes five headshots across the desk. You’ve always been puzzled by these overenthusiastic assistants, like they have a stake in every good idea so they have to be good. “This is like charm school, but for guys. The catch is they have to get equal marks in all their subjects by the end of the season in order for all of them to win their prizes.”
You got the smallest bit distracted looking over the faces of these five men, wondering how charm school worked as a concept with porn actors. “So the subjects are…?”
“What,” Felix suddenly halted, “not interested in the prizes?”
“I assume it’s money,” you flippantly shrugged, “so what are they supposed to be getting high marks in? I assume I'm working with them, so I'm interested in what they’re doing.”
It was Felix’s turn to shrug. Somehow, he apparently hadn’t predicted this. “The usual: manners, fitness, home economics, academics. They’re all secretly cast to have a specialty, so they have to work together to figure out each other's strengths and weaknesses.”
You finally held up your hands to formally stop him. “I'm sorry,” you politely apologized, “but I think I'm missing something. Where do I fit in?”
“Ah, that's the fun part. We cast them for variety, not for adult content. This will be their first venture.”
“For all of them?” You dubiously marveled, starkly curious how this would affect their performances. Almost no one was ever proud of their first time for more than sentimental reasons.
“Yes, all of them,” Felix proudly nodded, “in our counterpart series, Simkung House.” He slid a new logo across the desk, the first crossed out and a bubbly pink text replacing it, with the silhouette of a -- no, really -- french maid tickling her duster under the chin of the man in the original design. The cartoon male even had blush added. You raised a sharp eyebrow at Felix.
“Simkung? Who's the heartthrob, me or them?”
He jokingly waved you off, as if you could dare be so modest. “You, of course. They’re the stars of the daytime show, and you're the star of the nighttime show. Every good dormitory needs a housekeeper.”
“Daytime show?” You asked, backtracking. Your head was starting to swim with details.
“Yes. We actually have a daytime slot for Noesengnam House.”
“And so this--” you tapped on the gaudy pink logo in front of you, “is airing? On television?”
Felix slowed down a second. “Not quite,” he admitted, “it’s an online subscription for a well-negotiated price. Our clientele are loyal, and word of mouth has been our biggest asset.”
“So I just sleep with everyone.”
“Of course not,” Felix grinned, wagging a cheeky finger at you. “You’re working for a prize as well.” He slid a new graphic across the desk, this one a table of information. One row had a heart, the one below had a broken heart, and the one on the bottom simply had a question mark. The zeroes populating the prize side of the infographic made your pulse race. “Our five budding bachelors are all yours for the taking, but they can’t find out about each other. They each have to think they’re the one you chose. If you bed one of them, that’s 50 million won.”
Felix’s grin grew more wicked as your eyes widened.
“If one of them finds out about the others, you’ll lose 60 million won each. So control of information is key.”
“And what’s this?” You asked suspiciously, pointing at the ominous question mark.
“That,” he explained, “is for added drama being incited. You’ll find out later.”
“So what if I get all five?” You asked, feeling a bit foolish for getting excited.
“Then you get the prize,” Felix said seriously, “There's 500 million won at hand here, but you don't get to earn any of your penalties back for anyone finding out.”
You felt a little nauseous. That much money could get you a modest house, and maybe a car, and maybe all sorts of things.
“Where’s the contract?” You cautiously asked, not wanting to sound too eager.
“Of course,” Felix nodded as he pulled out two packets from under his pile of promotional material, one for each show, “I figured you’ll want copies for your manager--”
“I manage myself,” you firmly replied to Felix’s surprise, taking the copies from him and grabbing a pen from your bag. You flipped through, immediately crossing out any transfer of representation and exclusivity clauses. You had to be able to work after this, and you had to be able to keep up your own streams on the side during production if the schedule allowed. Your pen paused as you hit something interesting.
“What’s this about accommodations?”
“We’ve leased a house for production instead of making a studio more habitable for the cast. You’ll need to be accessible at all times given our schedule.”
“So my stream…?”
“Sadly, you’ll need to take a hiatus,” Felix pouted a little in sympathy, “but we’re confident you’ll find new fans. Now, are you going to use that pen to sign? Or do you want time?”
A miniature war broke out in your head over the prospects, but you quickly tried to decipher why -- the contract practically led in with the fact you’d get five million up front. That would help pay the bills in advance and settle some debt that had sat while money was tight. If you said no, someone else would say yes. You would meet new guys and network, and possibly come out with more money than you had going in.
You signed.
---
Felix wasn’t around on your first day on set, but you had his card in case you needed him. You wheeled your one suitcase to the front door of the handsome house, and an assistant immediately herded you to your room, further away from the chaos currently happening in the main living space. The bottom floor of the house mostly contained the impressive home gym, but appeared to also be where the laundry room and your room were located. You noted cameras tucked into all sorts of corners and crevices, some more obvious than others.
Your room was modest, with a small bathroom attached and its own fair share of cameras around. It was cutely decorated, a little feminine with warm string lights and soft textiles, but not very personal. It could've been any girl's room, but for now, it was yours. Felix had assured you that the cameras in here would only ever be on at night, and always with a signal of one of the bulbs on your string lights blinking. You opened your closet to get a feel of the space and where you could put your things when you saw your uniforms set out for you. A number of soft blouses with coordinating skirts hung on padded hangers, ready for you to mix and match. When you opened the drawers beside them, you found pairs of sensible tights and delicate pantyhose, some patterned and some not. Thankfully, the costumes were pretty sensible. You didn't want to be parading around in a french maid costume, swishing petticoats in boys’ faces or bending at the waist to show off some frilly panties. If the show wanted you to actually seduce these men and do it with some romance and dignity, the modestly cute uniforms would work just fine. You did also bring some of your own clothes, something Felix so graciously insisted upon, so you had options should you grow tired of the same look.
You unpacked and changed into a pale pink blouse with a black pencil skirt and some grey tights before heading upstairs where you were immediately intercepted by another assistant.
“Noona,” the younger man politely greeted, “you must be our housekeeper.” You nodded with a smile in return, popping the first button on your blouse when the assistant held up a lavalier mic to clip on. He quickly averted his eyes as you threaded the cord down and around to your back, endearing you, but just a little.
“What's your name?” You asked, watching for some sound tech to signal that you were fine or needed adjustments.
“I’m Seungmin, noona. You can let me know if you need anything. For now, we'll get you to a stylist and get you today's pages.” Seungmin showed you upstairs to the attic of the grand house, a de facto control center just above the main floor. A stylist swept you up and sat you in a chair while Seungmin fetched your pages. As the first episode, you would really only get a short introduction with the other staff: a cook, and a valet. For some reason, these cast members didn’t also reside in the house, but you didn’t need to question the producers at the moment and cause trouble. The main cast appeared to be downstairs already getting set for their first takes, their voices muffled through the thick rugs placed on the floor on this level. A text beeped through your phone that you had stashed in the pocket of your apron, and you opened it.
>How's my star? Ready for your first day? Can I get a picture? I have the big boss here.
You rolled your eyes at Felix’s antics, but took a reluctantly cute selfie anyhow, even winking for the camera.
>Perfect. It's like your first day of school and I'm so proud lmao. Big boss says to tone down the sass. Clients are more into Hidden Charm.
A heavy sigh fell from your chest. You were already nervous for your first real variety debut, let alone with the show tonight lurking ahead. Seungmin appeared right next to you, ready to lead you downstairs as the stylist set your hair one last time.
The lights in the living room were a bit irritating and took a second to adjust to, but the room itself was great. The home was impeccably decorated, modern and smart and just cozy enough to not feel sterile. You were sat next to your other Staff cast members while the main cast finished up in the dining room, your introductions awkward and brief. An errant bead of sweat traveled from the nape of your neck down your back when the rest of the cast were led into the living room, tempting you to shiver until the crew was done setting up.
You watched, distracted in the middle of rising from your seat when the cast filed in from the dining room down the hall, stretching and chatting as they took a quick break. The boys all had on some coordinating iteration of the same uniform, capitalizing on the ‘college boys in their dorm’ concept the show was toying with. First was Minho, a perfectly pressed crease undisturbed on his slacks despite filming all morning, and his sleeves bundled up over his hands as he nonchalantly entered the room and immediately took a seat on the couch. Next came Jisung, glasses gradually sliding too low and one end of his necktie a little too short. Changbin followed, looking down his long nose at a loose thread on his sweater vest, with Hyunjin right behind stopping him to fuss over it himself. He stooped down to see better and brazenly reached under the material to pull the loose thread back through before being prodded along by Chan pulling up the rear. Hyunjin straightened up, smoothing out his blazer and adjusting his beret before joining the rest of the boys on the long sofa, Minho now having scooted off to sit on a tufted ottoman. Chan casually rerolled his shirt sleeves and brushed a hand through his ashy blonde hair, opting to stand until the crew was ready. The assistant director stepping in to run down the scene finally pulled you out of your reverie. Clearly, your co-stars’ headshots didn't do them justice, but did they think the same of yours?
The scene was simple: following the round-table of introductions in the previous scene, the cast meets the staff before picking roommates. That was it, that was your big debut, and for some reason it was nerve-wracking. You and the staff all nodded greetings before filming even began, before you took your marks off camera. The boys were all polite, but none of them treated you with any familiarity. You would have to remember to ask Felix if they actually had seen your headshot before coming to set.
Finally, cameras rolled. As the Seniors of the group, Minho and Chan led the discussion, but Chan was clearly filling his role as the show’s host. He spoke well, and with plenty of charm, but something definitely struck you as odd about him. You just couldn’t pinpoint what. Your cue snapped you out of your train of thought and you suddenly remembered you were nervous, just as you walked on set and into the irritating lights. The valet introduced himself first, and then the cook, and, to your horror… You forgot your cheesy intro line.
What was it?
Amazing. Your first shot would require a reshoot, and it would be because of a flub.
You momentarily floundered, opting instead to roll with it and improvise.
“Hello, boys,” you beamed as you greeted them, “I’m your housekeeper. Keep a good home while you're here, since I'll be the one cleaning it. I hope you have nothing to hide.” You topped it off with a wink, and the boys all shared a momentary air of surprise. You didn't blame them -- it was awkward, cringy, and too ‘sassy.’ The Big Boss probably hated it.
But the boys laughed. Actually laughed. The take finished without any more problems, and the stylist ran up to reset your hair between takes.
“Was it bad?” You whispered as she touched up your makeup.
“No, I liked it!” She smiled, reassuring you a little. In fact, the AD asked you to run it again the way you had, surprised you could improvise at all. The retake went more smoothly, and you finally allowed yourself a sigh of relief as the scene cut for transition.
As the boys finally wrapped up, you set about your other duties. When the cameras weren't formally set and manned, the planted cameras caught plenty of action from the boys. The valet had it easy; he was come-and-go as the plot necessitated, but you and the cook actually worked. Your contract outlined that while the boys were usually “on” from eight o'clock to eight o'clock, that you were an actual part-timer during the day and working at night. You could “work” your show during the day, but you couldn't interfere with the daytime activities. If you were needed as a housekeeper during the day, then that was priority, and these bookshelves apparently came with dust on them. You set about dusting as the boys transitioned from their scripted work to more casual filming. They each gave you a look as they filed back out of the living room to get set up in their rooms. Some expressions were cryptic, Hyunjin and Chan especially, but some were clear, like Minho’s small grin as he subtly looked you up and down as you reached for a tall shelf. Not wanting to shy away from an opportunity, you smiled back.
The rest of your day was pretty simple, all things considered. You dusted and swept and tidied up a little, but since all five men had just started living in the house, there wasn’t much else at the moment. The house calmed down considerably as the huge crew dispersed for the day, now resembling just a mostly normal home. You hung out and snacked in your room as you heard everyone eating upstairs, only emerging once you heard their chairs scooting free of the dinner table. At that moment, one of the bulbs on your string lights blinked three times and then turned off.
You immediately straightened up where you sat in bed and cheerily waved at the camera. Felix had outlined that you would never have to do much talking if you didn’t feel like it. You rose from your bed, turning to fix the bow in your apron before heading out of your room, giving the camera an extra wave. As you turned to ascend the stairs, a figure landed right on the bottom step in front of you, making you jump with a startled laugh.
“Chan--!” You gasped into a giggle. “I'm so sorry, you surprised me.”
“I’m sorry, noona, I’ll be more careful,” he nodded cordially as he briskly moved to step around you. You quickly took note of the basket in his hands.
“Wait!” You jumped back in front of him. “You don’t have to do your own laundry, you know. Besides, you already have some on night one?” You held your hands open for him to set the basket into and he hesitated before reluctantly giving it up to you.
“It’ll take some getting used to, noona, thank you. I just wanted to take care of my uniform and my street clothes from before I got to set.”
“Fair enough,” you smiled warmly despite his stiff demeanor, turning heel back towards the laundry room as Chan hesitated again before heading back up the stairs. Working quickly, you set about separating the meager pile of laundry and getting them started on washing before you returned to your original plan and headed upstairs yourself.
Through the living room was the dining room, and beyond that was the kitchen down the hall. You peered in, spying a sink full of dishes from dinner. You pulled on some gloves and got to washing when your ears perked up at the sound of the kitchen door swinging open. Just like that, your assumption was right: someone had to be a late-night snacker in the cast. And, of course, it was Minho.
“I'm sure you could’ve eaten with us if you wanted,” Minho slyly grinned as he pulled open a cabinet and peered inside. His uniform was swapped out for a much comfier number, a simple henley shirt and pajama pants. The thin layers hugged the subtle outlines of his figure and suggested that despite his casual nature, he still put in effort for his looks. He came away from the cabinet with a box of cookies and offered it to you. You smiled and silently declined.
“I appreciate that, Minho, but I'm just the help.”
“Yeah, but you’re pretty,” he said bluntly, quietly picking the box open, “and I feel like we could be friends.”
You watched, quietly impressed with how cool Minho could be. He silently, nonchalantly took a bite of a cookie and offered you a bite of the same. Could you really say no to an advance like that?
Sure you could. Where was the fun in making it easy? You spied a camera in the corner of the kitchen, tucked under the hanging cabinets. Stepping aside, Minho instinctively circled with you, opening your conversation up for the camera.
“It’s only the first night, Minho,” you teasingly scolded as you leaned forward and took a bite of the proffered cookie, “you shouldn't be so eager.”
Minho surprised you again, his thumb instantly at your lip and cleaning off a crumb you hadn't even felt.
“Are you sure you're just the help?” He laughed quietly. “You don't act like it.”
“I can act however you want me to,” you teased back, enjoying the way his eyes lit up at your little repartee. You locked gazes as you let his thumb caress your bottom lip, watching for his reaction when dipped your chin to take the digit between your lips for just a moment. You took a step back, leaning back against the counter. His turn now. Minho set the box of cookies down, a devilish grin tugging at his lip as he stepped closer.
When the door swung open once again. You both rapidly turned away from each other, your hands plunging back into the sink and Minho turning back to the cabinets. Changbin blinked at the two of you.
“‘Sup,” Minho cheerily greeted, “I'm making myself something to eat. Want anything?”
“Nah,” Changbin shook his head as his eyes darted between the two of you before settling on the box of cookies on the counter. He stiffly reached between you both and grabbed it. “I'll be just fine with this. Unless you wanted--?”
“No, thanks, that's fine, like I said, making myself something,” Minho enthusiastically prattled on, making himself look busy as he started facetiously searching for pans in the bottom cabinets under the counter. Changbin raised an eyebrow before shrugging, popping open the box of cookies and digging in as he left the kitchen.
A beat passed in the silence as you both waited for Changbin’s footsteps to disappear, but you didn’t get a chance to say anything before you felt Minho press up behind you where you stood at the sink. You let yourself have a small smile as he reached his arms around you, grabbing a kitchen towel and pulling your hands out of the sink to dry them. His head leaned down over your shoulder, his breath tickling your neck as he took his time before you grew impatient. You leaned back against his chest, opening up your neck for him. Minho breathed you in and brushed your hair back, the impression of his smirk pressed into you as his lips brushed against the delicate skin.
You turned in his arms, playfully pushing him back a couple inches by the hips, and he instantly stepped closer, getting on with it already and driving his lips against yours. His flannel pajama pants did next to nothing to hide his growing erection he was currently grinding into your thigh. You kissed him deep, readily spreading your legs for him as his hands searched you and played with the hem of your skirt.
“Right here?” You asked coyly.
“As if we weren't pushing for that this whole time already,” Minho chuckled as he kissed you up and back against the counter. He spun you back around, pressing your hips against the sink as he kissed and nibbled at your neck. “Say it,” he implored.
“Fuck me,” you replied breathlessly, gasping as Minho immediately pulled your skirt up around your hips and bent you over the sink, his fingers dipping below the waist of your tights and tugging them down. His fingertips probed your dripping entrance from behind and you gave an encouraging moan for him to continue. “What,” you grinned back over your shoulder, “chickening out?”
“Sorry, I wasn’t expecting this,” he teased, “you sure you want it? You did say it's the first night.”
“Give it to me,” you said adamantly. Minho smiled back as he pulled out his hard length. One hand gripped your hip as he guided himself in, groaning as your depths took him deep. You squeaked out a surprised moan when he bottomed out before both his hands were on your hips now and pulling you deeper around him.
You clapped a hand over your mouth to keep from getting too loud as Minho fucked you over the sink, his hips bucking hard against you as his length filled you up. Once he set a reliable rhythm, one hand crept lower, between your legs to caress your clit as he fucked you.
“I want to make you cum,” Minho gritted behind you, “tell me how and I'll do it.”
“Keep doing what you’re doing and you will,” you taunted.
Minho seemed pleased with your answer, his fingers still rubbing firm circles on your clit as his cock drove in and out of you even faster. You pushed your hips back against his, gripping the counter hard as the refined angle helped hit your spot more consistently. Minho let out a deep groan at the sound of your quickening whimpers, the sound of you approaching your orgasm making it difficult for him to keep up his own pace.
“Minho,” you gasped, “I’m gonna--!”
You threw your head back as you cried out, quickly muffled when Minho pressed his own hand over your mouth. He kept it there, his other hand still holding firm onto your hip as he fucked you through your orgasm and on his way to his own. You whined and moaned into his palm, the way his own desperate groans combined with his stuttering grip on you making you lightheaded. He came hard, suddenly, emptying himself inside you as he gritted out hushed curses and panted breaths.
You both stayed there, connected at the hips before Minho pulled out and brought you back up from the ledge of the sink. It was sweet, the way he helped put you back together and kissed your cheek.
“Thanks,” he panted with a grin, still catching his breath, “hope this won’t make anything weird.”
“Of course not,” you smiled back as you brushed your fingers through your hair, “we can even do it again some time if you’d like.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. What’re friends for?” You winked, and Minho’s laugh was almost bashful as he playfully nudged your shoulder. His hand lingered on yours before he gave a cute wave and finally walked out of the kitchen.
You waited a beat for Minho’s footsteps to disappear before you found the closest camera in the corner of the kitchen and gave it a wave and a smile. You finished the dishes and left them to dry and exited the kitchen, nearly screaming in surprise as you ran right into someone.
Another assistant, blinking in surprised relief and taking a deep breath.
“Well done, noona,” the assistant laughed quietly.
“Who are--”
“Jeongin, noona, sorry.”
“Where have you been hiding?” You asked, bewildered.
“Upstairs in the control room. I come in when the day crew leaves to help supervise in case you need anything.” He handed you a bottle of water and you nodded your gratitude, uncapping and taking a sip as you looked him over. He was an actual infant. He must've gotten roped into the industry right out of school. “Any other plans tonight?”
“Don’t think so,” you chuckled. “The show won’t be much fun if I get everything done in one week.”
“Sounds good, noona. You’ll be getting some rest then?”
“Sure will.” You waved goodbye to the assistant as he crept back up the stairs and you headed down towards your room, making a quick stop to make a change over in Chan’s laundry for him.
You stripped down in the comfort of your room, waving as the camera blinked on and you pulled on your pajamas. The sheets were welcoming as you crawled into bed, blowing a kiss to your viewers before the camera blinked back off. Your phone buzzed with a text from Felix as your eyelids grew heavy.
>Good show tonight. Great start. The big boss loved it. Can you wear the dark blue blouse tomorrow? I want to see if it looks better than the pink. And don't make tonight a habit. We gotta keep things interesting. ;)
You sighed, now suddenly curious how you would “keep things interesting” between all five boys and wondering who would be next.

Michael After Midnight: Heavy Metal
Sometimes it’s fun to revisit old movies you watched when you were younger and find out, hey, this is better than you remembered! Sometimes your young mind just wasn’t ready to accept how awesome something was, and you needed time to fully understand what you look for and like about cinema to truly appreciate it. But then, sometimes, you watch something you liked when you were younger, and you realize… wow, this is absolute dog shit!
Such is the case with Heavy Metal. This is a movie I have frequently cited as a low-ranking entry on lists of the finest animated films of all time, and to be entirely fair to the film, it is important in a historical sense, being a cult classic that was passed around through bootlegs because music rights kept it from getting a home video release, and it came out around the dawn of the 80s and kind of destroyed what you would think an animated film was capable of. This film is full of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, and it entirely, unabashedly unashamed of this, for better or for worse.
Now, while I do think the overall film is a bit lacking, it is an anthology film divided into segments, and there are some pretty good ones I will make note of; this is not a film with absolutely no merit. But before that, let me point out the one thing everyone can agree is amazing about this film: the soundtrack. You’ve got Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Stevie Nicks, Devo, Cheap Trick… if nothing else, the kickass soundtrack is worth a listen, though Blue Oyster Cult’s song inclusion irritates me to a great degree. The movie went with “Veteran of the Psychic Wars” for the soundtrack, despite the fact Blue Oyster Cult had a song ready to go that is literally about the final entry in the anthology, called “Vengeance (The Pact).” Why the people compiling the soundtrack made this choice baffles me; it reminds me of how they didn’t use “Jennifer’s Body” in, well, Jennifer’s Body, instead opting for a different Hole song from the same album.
But I digress. Let’s go one by one and touch on the segments:
The framing device is about an entity known as the Loc-Nar, who claims to be the sum of all evil, detailing to a little girl how it has influenced chaos and carnage across time and space. The thing is, though, the Loc-Nar doesn’t come out on top in any of the segments, and its schemes are often thwarted. So the entire movie is basically this supreme evil being detailing to a little girl how much it sucks ass at its one job.
The first segment is Harry Canyon, a story about the eponymous futuristic New York taxi driver. In some regards it reminds me of The Fifth Element, what with a scruffy, slummy, futuristic taxi driver trying to help a smoking hot babe find out the truth and all, but unlike that film, this short is a lot bleaker and gritty. You kinda know what you’re in for when Harry vaporizes a dude who tries to mug him, and if that’s not enough, the female lead of this short literally throws herslef at him, and yes, he gets to take a dive into her Harry Canyon – and you get to see it.
This is a running theme throughout these shorts – almost every female character has huge titties and is sexually promiscuous, throwing themselves at the first penis they see as if it was their job. It’s so incredibly juvenile and tacky as to be laughable, but I guess this comes with the territory considering the magazine this film adapted.
Anyway, the segment is harmless and unremarkable. It’s exactly what you’d expect from this sort of story, without much in the way of twists or turns.
The second segment, Den, is arguably the best segment in the entire film. We have a nerdy kid named Dan who gets transported across space and becomes the musclebound warrior with a huge cock known as Den. Every woman throws herself at him, every villain in his way gets pummeled, and no task is too impossible for this man! And did I mention that he is voiced by John Candy? Really, Candy’s comedic touch is what makes this entire thing feel fun and palatable; it’s a cheesy swords and sorcery romp through and through. Honestly, I don’t have much bad to say about this one, it’s just very silly fun.
Unfortunately we are back to being not great with Captain Sternn. Sternn, played by Eugene Levy (of The Wacky World of Mini Golf fame), is basically an intergalactic war criminal on trial, and when his paid witness Hanover Fiste (played by Rodger “Squidward Tentacles” Bumpass) comes up to the stand, the Loc-Nar influences him to the most evil act possible… betraying this war criminal in front of the judge and jury! GASP! I’m not sure what the Loc-Nar is really trying to do here; you’d think it would maybe want Sternn free to continue spreading wicked influence across the galaxy, but nah, it just makes Squidward hulk out and tries to kill him, only for the tables to be turned and Squidward to be dropped out an airlock, further cementing how utterly useless the Loc-Nar is.
Thankfully, once that’s over, we have yet another very strong segment, another contender for best in show: B-17. This is a genuinely creepy zombie short film, and the zombies are utterly horrifying and grotesque. This is regarded as the most nightmarish part of the film, and for good reason; this shit is certainly worthy of being called “heavy metal.” Honestly, there isn’t much bad to say about this one either, except perhaps that it is over far too soon.
Then we get to what is probably the worst segment: So Beautiful, So Dangerous. The entire segment is sort of meant to be a lighthearted comedic breather between The last segment and the final one, but it just comes off as combining every problem the movie has into one segment: the uselessness of the Loc-Nar, copious and ridiculous sex, drugs, and so on. Really all that’s missing from this is gratuitous violence, but hey, guess you can’t have everything all the time, right? It just comes off as really dull and pointless, and there’s not really anything particularly funny about anything that happens in it, unless of course you’re a thirteen year old who thinks “big boob woman having sex with robot while aliens snort cocaine” is the funniest shit on Earth.
Thankfully, we end on a strong note with Taarna, which is about a proud warrior woman dressed in horrifically impractical armor (and this actually effects the plot, I’m not kidding, somehow there was some self-awareness here) and a cool alien pteradactly flying off to fulfill a vengeful pact after the slaughter of a peaceful race by barbarians mutated by the Loc-Nar, in what may be the Loc-Nar’s sole impressive feat. Taarna is the ultimate hero, giving us the trifecta of qualities a heroine in this movie should have – boobs, butt, and bush... Er, I mean, sword, cool mount, and ass-kicking prowess. This one is not quite as good as “Den” or “B-17,” but I still think it’s a solid finale that has enough action and awesome music to make up for its tackier elements.
The movie ends with Taarna’s defeat of the Loc-Nar echoing through time and killing it which… makes absolutely zero sense, but whatever, the Loc-Nar is an absolutely atrocious villain and perhaps one of the most useless in cinematic history, he gets a 1/10 on Psycho Analysis. Then the girl gets her own kickass space dragon thing and becoming the new Taarna or something and, honestly, it’s the exact sort of batshit ending you should expect from the film.
So, is this really an awful film? In some places, no. It’s a love letter to cheesy, trashy sci-fi fantasy from the 70s, with all that comes with it, and in that regard it does succeed. But still, a lot of the film feels like the utterly juvenile fantasies of same sad high schooler, or perhaps even middle schooler, who has never had and who likely never will have sex. It’s a tashy little time capsule to a bygone era where this sort of storytelling was okay so long as there was enough blood and titties on display, so if that appeals to you, by all means, check this film out. It’s certainly not the worst thing in the world to watch, but animation has come so far and adult animation in particular is capable of so much more than adolescent masturbatory fantasies that this film has little value beyond a few solid segments and a damn good soundtrack.
Hell, just go listen to the soundtrack. I think you’d have a better time doing that.
