REE HAS SO MUCH MORE MONEY NOW THAN THEY HAVE EVER HAD IN THEIR LIFE.

Ree has been dirt poor for most of their perceived existence. Their parents in Unova were well off, but by the time Ree started to understand the concept of money, they were already shoved away to Alola… and then they were homeless and joining skull. Ree didn’t have money for a long time.

They work hard at the battle tree and they’re making money as champion now, too. Ree has more money than they know what to do with. They squirrel it away a hide it because they’re afraid of what happens if they suddenly lose their job or their championship gig.

Once the initial shock of being knocked on her ass by her Nidoking had worn off, pain radiated from her left knee. Walker reached down to touch her limb, for whatever reason, and recoiled instantly, seeing stars.

Nidoking bristled and grunted as the man approached, but Walker paid the stranger no mind, laying on her back with her face buried in her elbow. It could've been someone who was gonna kill her and she couldn't do fuck-all about it.

Does Ree have any nightmares while sleeping?

oh, absolutely. They have for as long as they can remember.

Ree has gotten better at coping with the world and how their trauma affects them, but they’ll never be able to be fully ‘over’ it. Their dreams have alway manifested the fears they’ve had — being abandoned by their mother, being cast aside by their uncle. They have nightmares about Jax, about Lysandre, about Ghetsis — and even about Lusamine. Being able to be mouthy and reckless and fight back against the people they consider ‘bad guys’ doesn’t negate the fact that these people scare the shit out of them.

Ree copes with anger and trying to act scarier than the thing that scares them. But those fears always manifest in the dark of night — especially in the quiet.
