REAL!! he’s such a hypocrite because if someone mentioned you had a work husband, his entire world would stop and he wold devise the absolute worst plans to make sure that your co-worker, everyone at your job, and everyone in the next building over knew that he was happily committed to you
but if he is the work husband, he’s very........ dutiful in his role. there’s a loose office/lawyer au in my head where satoru is your secretary, and for all intents and purposes, your personal assistant, and he’s good at his job, but mostly because he considers his job to be pleasing you. he has coffee for you when you arrive, he moves your schedule around without you asking, he has answers to questions before you can even ask them, he has fresh flowers on your desk weekly, pokes into your meetings to pretend to hand you a file that’s really just maybe a single document in a manilla folder with candy on top of it—he’s made himself your business, your partner; he’s made himself irreplaceable, and he loves to remind everybody of that fact.
he’s also extremely loyal. sure, he could day a week’s worth of work done in about a day, but that doesn’t mean he’ll just use his talents for anybody. he’s your secretary, so he’s at your beck and call, and everyone knows it. they know he’s the best, but also that he’s off limits—not because you won’t share him, but because satoru won’t let himself be shared.
he also extends his duties beyond work, of course. when he hands you a print out of your schedule for the day and you’re confused by the three-hour block of time you have in the middle of the day, satoru just helps you shrug your coat of your shoulders and smiles, “that’s for the lunch date you have with me, of course!” hanging up your coat in your closet for you, “i’m paying, see you soon, sweets.” and because you’re great at your job, and satoru helps you be great, nobody really questions when the two of you have time for a 13-course tasting menu at 1pm on a tuesday afternoon. and if they did, all satoru would say that you two had a lovely date

hihi i was wondering what you’re studying in grad school? i’m debating going LOL
i’m currently in a master’s program 4 a gender studies degree! my experience has been. pretty good so far but if ur located in the u.s. my honest advice is don’t go 2 grad school unless u can get it fully funded…or unless ur rich enough 2 just eat the cost of paying 4 a program in which case u can probably do whatever u want lol
#can only speak 2 the higher ed system in the u.s. but#master’s programs in particular r harder 2 find funding for#& most people in them r getting a degree 4 a specific career or planning 2 continue working in academia#phd programs here r funded but harder 2 get into bc of it & a bigger commitment & also still underpaid so#anyway. only reason i was able 2 do this master’s degree was bc one of the schools i applied 2 gave me tuition remission + a stipend#i would NOT recommend going into debt 4 a master’s degree. generally speaking…#also don’t generally recommend going into grad school straight from undergrad…obv every person’s situation is different etc#but my general advice would be go 2 grad school if u have a specific career path in mind not just if u aren’t sure what else 2 do etc#like lbr the university is not a sacred bastion of learning lol it’s a job like any other & comes w its own forms of exploitation#esp if ur a grad student…one thing a university will NEVER do is pay u well!!!

one of my friends from college is the best I love her but she's just so richbrained yet believes herself to not be.. like be real u went to a private school that was eight grand a year 😭 i can't deal with the things that come out of her mouth sometimes as much as i cherish her. this other lad in the year ahead was saying to her before that he wouldn't have been able to go to college if he didn't get a scholarship and she was like repeating this to me like WOW. 🤯 really makes you think 🤔 never met anyone like that 🫶 like WHAT DO YOU MEANNNNN

I am genuinely obsessed with my friend and I don't know how to cope with it. I spend all day thinking about them at school, drawing them in the corners of my books, namelessly talking about him to my other friends, when I think about going home I just think about talking to them.
Then of course when I get home we'll exchange a few messages and he'll leave to talk to their other friends, so then I'm upset he doesn't want to spend every possible moment with me. But instead of just doing something else, I put on some music and just wait for him to get back, because I don't have any hobbies or anyone who'll want to talk to me or really any actual life outside of my friends.
I've realized they spend a lot of time on amino, so I've made an amino account to watch them talk to other people with. I know its wrong and weird but I feel empty without him and what they don't know can't hurt them, right? I'm a fantastic friend otherwise, always there for them and interested in what he has to say. They're really nice to me but never gives that back in return, though I can't bring myself to be mad at him most of the time.
I sleep at 2am to say goodbye when they go to school, and wake up at 7am to greet him when they get back. I make them gifts and tell him I love him. I'd tear up my entire life for them (not like there's much to tear up anyway) I feel like my only worth is being useful to them

btw please always read my opinions re: public school as the opinions of a music educator aka The One Subject Area Where Teachers Would Just Simply Not Grade Anything Ever If Not For The School Administration
#NOT kidding at our conferences the professional development sessions OFTEN are like:#Btw Heres a way u can make this an Assignment if admin wont get off ur ass#(often with some annoyance that administrations make us grade things)#its also so funny because every single assignment is like. Nothing. yea theres playing tests in bands SOMETIMES but like.#1) there is an entire contingent of band people who are actively AGAINST the playing tests. (and thats not even all band ppl who dont do em#and 2) 95% of the time the assignments are just. NOTHING. (partially bc MOST music classrooms are elementary school.)#you know what we did for grades in high school band??? all u had to do was 1) be at the concert 2) there was a SELF EVALUATION FORM#that u filled out urself and the band director would just enter it into the gradebook verbatim no matter what.#(actually i think once he called someone out during class for giving himself an 18/50 like an idiot. but other than that)#basically what im saying is. i can forget how traumatic the american public school system can be bc im busy doing Not That#ari opinion hour#teaching tag#bc my subject area is 1) i will do anything to get out of grading things 2) no exams 3) biggest concern is how to get kids to STAY IN MUSIC#(aka creating an environment that is safe for everyone and safe to fail in. and also constantly teaching kids how to work together)#aaaand 4) please god please please pblease give me money please pleplease administration please bleaes please dont cut my program pleaseple

Idk why people get sooo mad when a word applies to something they think it doesn’t. Like. I’m diagnosed as being mildly intellectually disabled (because I am severely dyspraxic), it is medically and legally in black and white and there is Thorough ass paperwork that goes into detail as to how. (I won’t get too specific here but I’m categorized as “severely impaired” in the areas of motor speed and coordination, rapid mental flexibility, and spatial perception and orientation.)
Quantitatively and qualitatively doctors have tested and retested to figure out that objectively i fit the criteria, and therefore am officially categorized as such. That’s not a political statement or something I *want* to be true or false, it’s just fact. Not as in my ✨lived experience✨ but as in science. There’s not a secret other definition that doesn’t apply to me, just because an acquaintance is uncomfortable with it for whatever reason. You don’t know more about intellectual disability than neurologists do just because you have a tumblr account
#was reading abt the problems w IQ for school and remembered when I got diagnosed and everyone was like BUT YOUR IQ#first of all my IQ is also in the mildly intellectually disabled range but also that’s irrelevant bc IQ is bullshit#people love to double down about this and for WHAT what threatens you about my diagnosis#if you don’t know Anything abt the systems intellectually disabled ppl interact w you don’t get to act like an authority#people think they know the MOST and then the most basic aspects of me being categorized this way are like. breaking news to them#if ur the expert on me and my condition why is everything abt it such a shocker#i just. dunno what it is abt this term that bothers people so much#is it that it sounds too severe to apply to me? have u just only heard it applied to a few things so new info is hard to adjust to?#is it bc the one time you’ve heard of (mild) dyspraxia it was talked abt in different words? This fucking week has been so rough on me like I got a sunburn, multiple headaches, muscle pain, and all that school-to-home walk pain starter pack 😭
but hey at least yesterday I had a normal sleep schedule like I ain’t ever slept at 10 and wake up 6 that was beautiful
anyway, seeing as the Harry Tony Mike (hatsune miku) cultural trend is a thing, I will jump in and make her Cuban because I love my fucking country and hate it at the same time
don’t expect a guayabera or whatever
she’ll be wearing that shitty street cuban drip you get from small clothing businesses, because that’s where the real Cuban’s at (mainly using my ma’s clothes as reference like where did her swagger go she was so alt when she was in her 20s 😞) (she passed down her cool clothes to me tho 😋)
