I just felt compelled to draw this, there is not much thought behind it other than "The girlies are talking".

I started replaying Weird and Unfortunate Things Are Happening. It's an excelent RPG Maker game with interesting usage of game mechanics and a very engaging story and world exploration.

I love the games that UnityDev makes, she is fascinating. Every game of hers has managed to somehow be extremely engaging and made me spend so much time. The end game dungeons of Wautah and Luxaren Allure made me spend like 50 hours in each game

I was brought on to do the new banner artwork for Weird and Unfortunate Things are Happening's upcoming Steam release! It was a joy to revisit Alicia, Dottie, and Elothu for this new artwork.

If you like earthbound style gameplay, body horror, demons, and the darkest themes you can possibly imagine, WUTH is for you.

We’ve got chaotic but wholesome older sister energy, a pissed off housewife, the most dead inside English teacher to ever live (that’s Lamar), and innocence squared.

Also death. There’s a lot of that.

But the entire concept is amazing- I won’t even spoil it, I recommend watching gameplay. Just be prepared for body horror en masse, especially in the bosses!

But yes, Lamar is just trying to live life and teach and then he gets roped into some demon fuckery by the soul and whoopdeedoo now he’s gotta fight some unholy monstrosities. Fucking mood. He does have his cheery moments, but considering he’s got resting depression face expect more questioning and disappointment than that.

Holy fuck i never expected to go off like this, he isn’t even one of my major blorbos from the game- that goes to something else- and even then I had forgotten about it until now.

Excerpts from chapter one of the trash satire based off of My Immortal that a friend and I co-wrote

Cliche:

My name is Brooke Wautahs, and this is the story of how my life changed forever.

And then… the murders began.

Chapter 1:

Brooke walked into school, her heels clicking flirtatiously as her pleated skirt swished around her knees. She tugged her button-down shirt into place and ran a hand over her perfectly smooth blonde hair to make sure her cat barrette was still in place.

Brooke started to reply when she was interrupted by a deep chocolatey voice from behind her.”I don’t understand how anything could be so funny this early in the morning.”

Brooke jumped, it sounded like, but no it couldn’t be! He was never here this early in the morning!

She turned, and standing behind her was Bertram.  The king of the school’s goths.  His pitch-black hair fell over one eye, his thumbs tucked into the pockets of his tight, ripped jeans.

Brooke stared at him, unable to speak. Was Bertram actually talking to her???

Ashelie ruined the moment by snorting.”You don’t understand how anything is funny.” She said disdainfully.

“My life is too dark for humor.”

“Whatever, plebe.  What do you want?”

He turned to face Brooke, his bright blue eyes piercing her soul.

“You’re in my way.”

She flushed deep red and daintily stepped towards the lockers, muttering an apology.

Annoyed, Brooke pulled out her diary.

“Dear Diary.  Mood: excited.  Bertram talked to me today! Okay it was to tell me to move out of his way, but he knows I exist! He made direct eye contact and it was like he was looking into my very soul.  His eyes make me swoon.  When I talk to Ashelie about him, she just doesn’t understand.  She thinks it’s stupid for a prep to like a goth.  I can tell she’ll never understand my love for him. I don’t know Diary.  Sometimes I feel like you’re the only one who gets me…”

She chewed on her pen realizing how hungry she was.”I feel like tacos.” She said.

Ashelie agreed.”Let’s go to the café!” She paused for a moment and considered her life.”Why is it always tacos? I don’t even like tacos.”  She wondered out loud.

Brooke packed her diary away and headed to the lunch room alone as usual.

“Sometimes” she thought, “I wish I had a friend.” (AN: Any character henceforth to question the authors’ authority and/or break the fourth wall shall hereby be erased from existence.)
