For this map we decided to display the relief in two variants: one with elevation only and one with bathymetry added.

This map was realized in 1888 and with the digital restoration we tried to find the original coloration.

The ancient inscription reads:

"Carta altimetrica e batometrica dell'Italia, costrutta e disegnata da Guido Cora, pubblicata sotto gli auspici del ministero d'agricoltura, industria e commercio dall'Istituto Geografico Guido Cora, 1888."

An extremely attractive example of Jacques-Nicolas Bellin’s 1758 map of Saint Lucia (St. Lucia) or Sainte Lucie in the West Indies. St. Lucia is considered among the most beautiful of the Windward Isles. This map covers this spectacular Caribbean island in considerable detail showing mountains, cities, and forests in Bellin’s distinctive profile style. Good harbors are marked with miniature anchors. Finished map for the known, explored world of Saventviet, the setting within my story and the regions of interest within it.

TBB borrows inspiration from a large array of vintage styles, from early 20th to mid century aesthetics, but for this map I wanted to portray it in a medieval European style complete with crude drawings of real (in universe) deities within the seas, scattered along Ashen borders.

While not a contemporary style within the world, nor is it employed by militias or governments within the world or their armies usage, it still sees widespread personal, educational, and general use given Saventviet as it stands, was only founded in the (relative) recent history of the world.

The arts and culture of the world has still not had ample time to thrive beyond a point or at least, to a degree that its widespread in many nations plagued with centuries of war.

The arts of old and much of the ancient world in Saventviet capture imaginations, things like this map, I imagine many people have solace in the old and bygone wonders and relics of the magical realm because it's only that that offers a consistent comfort for many in the clutches of war's shadow.
