For the life of me, I can NOT understand how Chloe did not know about her mother's story when pretty much everyone else did. Mal made a point about how Fairy Godmother gave Ella a dress but couldn't help make her own daughter "pretty"(I say this as Jane is already beautiful). Chloe on the other hand was rather taken aback about seeing her mother in rags, and acted totally clueless about where her mom was staying at. Chloe even asked " I can't believe how awful her family was to her." How is it everyone else in the series knew about Cinderella's upbringing then her own flesh and blood? Not to mention Chloe at least knew about where Ella and Charming fell in love, i.e Castlecoming. So why is that the thing Chloe seems to only know of or been told of? Surely someone had to have told her the entire story of her mother becoming queen? It makes sense for Red not to know who Bridget used to be, but it's very farfetched for Chloe to seem completely unaware about the kind of person Ella was.

tfone au where OP is created as the last of the primes but way after them, a sparkling born at what were thought to be the last days of the war against the quintessons, the beginning of a new generation of peace after eons of war. a child meant to be loved and raised knowing nothing of war nor sacrifice.

he's kept mostly out of the spotlight by his siblings, who don't wish to expose him to everyone's optics so young, and want to wait until the war is done and over to properly introduce him to their people.

except of course the primes are betrayed and murdered by sentinel, the war is lost and everyone who knows and cared for the truth is either banished or outright killed in order to suppress it.

and the high guard, the ones the primes trusted the most, the ones that were supposed to protect them, the ones who failed in their most important duty, have to make a choice. to take the last prime, their last hope, with them to the surface, a hostile environment where there's little to no supplies and where they'll be hunted down by both sentinel and the quintessons as the biggest threat to their regimen.

or hide him in plain sight. place him where sentinel won't think to look for him. one more sparkling among many. and hope it will be enough to keep him alive. pray to primus that he'll protect his last child long enough for them to come back for him when it's safer (even if most of them have already lost their faith on him when he allowed the rest of his children to be massacred like that)

they almost lose their resolve when they realize they will have to take the little one's cog away in order to make him blend in with the rest of the newborns (and oh do they burn with murderous intent when they see what sentinel has done to their people but it's not the time yet-) but in the end they decide an impaired little prime is better than a dead one.

and so in the chaos of thirteen dead primes and a sudden energon crisis, a little sparkling who very few mechs really knew about and even fewer had seen completely vanishes. and in the depths of iacon a mech in charge of a new batch of newborns scratches their helm in confusion as they realize they must have miscounted the first time.

optimus prime is quietly erased from any official records by sentinel, written off as dead when they find a sparkling's frame mangled beyond recognition after an attack on the base of those rebels that insist on being a thorn on his side. killing the sparkling hadn't been precisely in his plans, he probably could've found some use for it after all, but he's not particularly upset about it either.

and orion pax grows up with an ache on his spark that tells him he's missing something far more important than a t-cog and dreams of gentle and loving hands, cradling him against the frames of mechs he cannot recall the faces of.

I love your artwork so much! Your colors are so vibrant and none of the white speckles in the paper ever shows, its so impressive and I really dig it! I was wondering if you use any sort of blending medium? Like baby oil or anything? Either way, I really enjoy looking at your artwork and I'm always excited to see whatever you'll make next

I use a colorless blender (prismacolor, which is wax-based so baby oil probably wouldnt work) but my scanner is also rly bad about picking up white specks in a way photographing the art with my phone isnt, so I usually have to do some digital editing to get rid of them as well.

I do this by duplicating the layer, setting the one on top to "darken," and using the mixer brush to blend out the white spots + just use the eyedropper tool to select the color of that area (needs to be a slightly lighter shade of it) and color over the white spots with the brush tool

I was so ready to be constantly confused while playing Death Stranding cuz every article I saw about the game was like "Couldn't understand a single thing that happened 10/10" but I think speed-running The Locked Tomb series only a few months ago prepared me perfectly. I didn't get half of what went down in those books and I love them with all my heart. Law being sex and romance repulsed Aromantic asexual, Luffy sex repulsed demiromantic asexual. Law being Luffy's first ever crush, and first ever heartbreak because Law has to shut him down. But, for the first time, Law explains WHY he let him down when before he would just be a jerk and be mean to that person so they'd leave him alone (he doesn't even owe them an explanation anyway, plus they were usually always strangers in the first place), that he just can't fathom even the concept of reciprocating because he just can't. Well that might be an exaggeration. Law is aware he's capable of feeling something towards a person that could lead to a companionship. But romance? He's not sure he's really capable of experiencing such a thing. He's never had crushes, never looked at a person and felt like he wanted to spend his entire life with them. He can understand romance and relationships, but he can't see himself personally experiencing them. And it's not like he could force himself to do it either. Because he'll end up just hurting the poor guy. He genuinely can't be physical, besides maybe a hug on occasion? Maybe? But to go beyond a hug—the thought of it makes his stomach drop, makes him shiver. Can't explain it, it's just not something he's able to do.

And Luffy just laughs. He laughs at Law's deeply personal, and pretty awkwardly said, explanation. Luffy explains that he feels the exact same way! Or a little bit? Somewhat? He's not sure. And usually he's pretty good at deciphering his own feelings—over time anyway. Not the best at it but he's been his own therapist for a long time so he'd say he's like half way to expert levels by now. Luffy says he's still confused about why he's suddenly having these feelings. Why he so desperately wants to be with Law. He already enjoys Law's company to begin with. Loves it in fact. He says he definitely gets what Law is talking about being intimate. It's something that makes him squirm, like he wants to crawl out of his own skin. He's fine with most physical touch, he says, but the idea of more makes him feel..... Nervous? Like crushes, he's just never felt that spark, as Ace once called it when Luffy asked what it felt like to be with someone (as if a 15 year old who just got his first girlfriend a week prior is instantly an expert in these things).

Luffy may not have gotten what he wanted when he told Law he thinks he's got a crush on him and he wants to understand it all by dating like he's seen other people with crushes do. But he and Law did grow a little closer and even felt a newfound sense of normal wash over them. That idea of being broken slowly leaving their combined self deprecating vocabulary. Even feeling a bit of freedom now that they've both finally spoken their feelings aloud.

firstly for suggestions, i'll be honest Kara can be... a hard character to read for. you have to slog through a lot of really shitty "male gaze" content to get scraps of interesting stuff. the top comics i'd recommend are

some people like Harley Quinn & Power Girl. i'll be honest... i did not. and Power Girl (2009) has... ups and downs, is the nicest way i'll say it. but it's also solid for what it is. certainly better than her New-52 content so i can't really complain.

anyhow, i always am enamoured by characters who are disconnected from their "family", especially due to trauma. bc no one really counts Power Girl as part of the Superfamily. and even within the Superfamily if people are talking about the "outcast" of the family, they always say Kon. (which, eh? maybe New-52!Kon but i wouldn't say the main Kon is an outcast, his issues are internal) but to me, Kara far better suites that role. it's one thing to be one of the last survivors of Krypton. it's another thing to be one of the last survivors of your entire *universe* as well. she lost everyone, *twice*.

i adore characters who feel like imposters and Kara is *peak* imposter syndrome. everything about her identity is constructed around not feeling like a "real" Super, or a "real" Zor-L. she has to live with knowing she's on an earth that has Supergirl, meaning they don't need her. she didn't wear the S crest for so long even on her own earth, because she felt like she didn't server it.the only thing she feels like she has going for her is her sexual appeal and so it's so amped up she lacks a personality outside of it. she has been isolated again and again by her trauma and she struggles to face her grief, masking with humor and oversexual appearances. i find that to be so interesting. she lost *everything*, twice. and now she's an imposter who will always hold herself at a distance from the Supers because she doesn't want to make them uncomfortable with her existence. she has to live on an Earth and know everyone is... slightly off. she has Clark, but it's not *her* Clark. she has the Justice Society of America, but it's not *her* JSA. and she doesn't have her best friend, Helena Wayne at *all*, because this earth has Helena Bertinelli as Huntress. (unless you count New Golden Age stuff but that's future timeline nonsense)

i find Kara's lack of identity interesting, and the way she just sort of drifts. she has done a lot of things, but lacks a sense of self importance bc she will never view herself as a "real" Kryptonian of this universe. she's just so neat to me. i also love the JSA personally, they're one of my favorite superhero teams, so i love any character connected to the JSA, they're always so underrated.

the Power Girl Special (which is collected in Power Girl Returns) is like, genuinely one of my favorite single issues ever. that comic just lives in my bones. it also has one of the *best* internal monologues i've ever read. something something comics are art. this is cutting some stuff out but just to show you have beautiful the writing is, this is an excerpt from that comic

people tend to think of hatred as love's opposite. but i disagree- i think hatred is just love's sharpened edge. it's the same passion. the same potency, the same intensity. just a different flavor. so no, hatred isn't love's opposite. grief is. grief is the void left behind after something you once loved was violently ripped away. grief is what happens in love's sudden absence. love is when your cup runneth over. but grief is hollow. a chasm. there is no negotiating with grief. it does what it wants to you, when it wants. you will never outgrow or outrun it. but... you can find ways to grow around it. i never got to say goodbye. i was loved, once. i was once loved so much that my life was prioritized above all else. i will never feel worthy of that love or sacrifice. but i'm realizing now that to freeze or falter in the shadow of that love is the only way to fail their sacrifice. i have to live in the light. i can step out into the sunlight, and still carry them with me.

like that is??? so Character to me. she is Everything. i'm just. so unwell over her internal struggles and how she faces the world, i cannot recommend her enough. she means the world to me and that comic has stuck with me since i read it for it's conversation about handling grief. i am begging everyone to be a Power Girl fan i know she's confusing but once you get the hang of her backstory she's so cool i swear-

One of my favorite ways to explore a character is how they like their coffee or tea. As in; which one do they prefer, or do they like both? How much sugar and/or cream do they add, if any? Hot or cold? It’s something so niche and minuscule that you probably wouldn’t ever think about otherwise, and yet imo it can tell you a lot about a character.

(Examples below)

1) Mollymauk prefers coffee. He tends to add a lot of sugar and creamer—to the point where it’s more cream than coffee—and prefers it iced rather than hot (my explanation for this in my fic was bc tieflings run hot, they need iced drinks to level it out). Essentially, the way I see it, he likes his coffee the way I do lol.

2) Caleb prefers tea. He adds a bit of sugar to cut the innate bitterness, but no cream, and almost exclusively drinks it hot. This being said, he is known to switch to apple cider on occasion, if he wants to switch it up.

3) Shepherd prefers hot black coffee. Ik this makes no sense considering my logic for Molly drinking iced coffee, but…idk, I can’t see Shep drinking iced coffee. He does drink iced tea if he can get it tho (yes I am implementing my southern roots onto him, what of it)

4) Sarnax almost exclusively drinks hot tea (don’t remember the name of the specific type he carries). No sweeteners or cream or anything, just the pure tea.

5) Skrimm likes apple cider. I mean, he prefers booze, but if there’s no booze available, then he’ll subconsciously go for the cider if given the option

6) Gricko likes apple juice. I can’t really explain why, but my brain has latched onto this idea and won’t let go. So yeah. Gricko likes cold apple juice.

7) Torbek also likes apple juice but like. Room temperature apple juice.
