Yes we can shop for all of each other's hygiene products without having to ask what to get first. Yes we are best friends. Yes I'm starting to think I might be bi but that's a completely separate topic from-"

Charlie, 3 years into knowing Vaggie: "We have a problem. Neither of us is sure when we started dating. We have NO idea when our anniversary is."

Vaggie: "We could just use the day we met. Like, all kissing aside, I think that's kinda when my life changed for the better anyway."

Charlie: "And this is why I'm dating you~" (smooches her)

Just wanna take a moment to talk about how much I adore Vaggie's verse in "Whatever It Takes", especially this line.

Because it makes so much sense after finding out Vaggie's backstory. Unlike the other residents in the Hotel, Vaggie wasn't someone that needed Charlie to be redeemed. Vaggie had always been a good person. She was a real angel who put down her weapon and refused to kill a child, even if it were a demon.

Lute saw Vaggie's mercy as a weakness and flaw that made her undeserving of her halo. Vaggie didn't need someone who saw and believed in the good in her. The problem is that she was seen as sinful just because she extended her kindness towards someone supposedly damned for eternal punishment.

Meeting Charlie made her realize that she wasn't alone. Vaggie is an outcasted angel for showing mercy to a demon, while Charlie is a ridiculed demon for believing in redemption for damned sinners. Charlie understood how it felt to be punished for her kindness, but still persevered with who she is, and so Vaggie does too.

One of the things I love about their relationship is that Charlie didn't "fix" Vaggie. She saved her, yes, but Vaggie had always had that good in her that she acted upon despite the consequences even before meeting Charlie. Such a pure soul like Charlie deserves someone whose kindness isn't dependent on their romantic relationship. It's why Vaggie saying that she believes in Charlie's dream aren't just empty words for the sake for supporting a loved one. Vaggie may be more realistic about it, but she definitely means what she says. She has saved a demon before, heaven's orders be damned. So she'll help Charlie save many more.

Vaggie isn't just helping Charlie with hotel just because she's being a good girlfriend. Well, she is duh but also they both just genuinely care about people even Heaven abandoned. That's why she and Charlie are partners.

i feel like it's pretty safe to assume the people who say Chaggie is toxic because of Vaggie's attachment to Charlie haven't really been deeply in love before, especially not in a situation where their partner literally saved their life.

Sure a dynamic like that could go sour if you become too overbearing/demanding or controlling out of fear of losing them, but Vaggie is very obviously not that?

I can't exactly put the feeling into words, it's sort of a situation you have to experience in order to understand. But when you owe someone your life, especially when it feels that person is also your soulmate, of course you dedicate the rest of it to making them happy and giving unyielding support. Of course you feel like you owe them the world, because they're your whole world and the only reason you're even still here.

Yes it can create a power imbalance and your partner could take advantage of the obsessive loyalty that level of dependency breeds, but Charlie chooses not to because shes not abusive and she respects and loves vaggie.

Charlie recognizes that Vaggie has self worth issues and places her value in how useful she is to her, and instead of making it into a toxic situation charlie takes the time to reassure vaggie that she doesn't need to be 'proving' herself and that she is loved and valued as she is.

This is a pretty controversial headcanon, but I think Vaggie has dependent personality disorder. She clearly hates living and working at the hotel, but does it because she craves Charlie's approval, and despite her disagreeing with Charlie on almost everything, she goes along with it, again, purely because she craves Charlie's approval. She doesn't make any decisions of her own which aren't grounded in her desire to please Charlie, and she doesn't initiate any tasks without Charlie's approval, or any tasks which would benefit herself in any way. Vaggie likely sees Charlie as a caregiver, and will submit to her will in every way possible to please her, and ensure that Charlie doesn't end their relationship, or abandon her. Vaggie's dependence on others, and excessive desire to please whoever she currently views as a caregiver was probably programmed into her by Adam, who likely created the exorcists to be as submissive to his will as possible so that they would obey him without question. It is highly implied that he created them, and that they didn't come from human souls, as he explicitly details the fact that he named Vaggie

Oh yeah. He isn't really much of a shipper. In fact he discovered he's aromantic after I had to explain to him the "ace in the hole" joke. Anyways, my brother(the youngest that I've mentioned recently at least. I have another brother who loves shipping and romance) isn't too interested in romance, but he likes Wenclair and Chaggie pretty well. He isn't too vocal about shipping, our convos related to it is mostly me ranting and him giving his two cents. With Wenclair it was because he liked their dynamic, while with Chaggie he thinks they make the most sense. Also apparently Vaggie's dedication reminded him a lot of Asami which is a plus for him because he really likes Asami. He also adores Charlie so he likes that Vaggie treats her the way she does because he thinks Charlie deserves it anyways.
