Repost but I realise I havent posted it once this season and the show's almost over. Going into the home stretch with the final two parter.

You know why Boimler's weird death-faking clone sent that cosmic wave at us? Because he knew we kick ass. And not just the five of us. The whole Cerritos crew is stacked with amazing officers. Yeah, there's a lot of ships in the fleet which are bigger, fancier, they have engineering sections that are attached to the main part of the ship. And honestly, those crews are way more professional. Hey, I should know, I've been kicked out of half of 'em. But this thing we do doesn't require perfection. We're explorers. We live for the unknown. You can't prepare for that. Nobody on the Cerritos is even close to perfect. We're a mishmash of people and various creatures that don't fit in anywhere else. But we're a family. That's why I love it here. We believe in the mission and in each other. My mom might be gone, but she handpicked this crew. Which is why I know we're going to be okay. This isn't the end of a story, it's a beginning. We're gonna make her proud.

There’s gonna be tons of jokes circulating Starfleet about how the Cerritos needs two officers for every job. Two science officers, two first officers. If they promote Rutherford to co-Chief Engineer the whole gang will be part of the redundancy.

one thing that i truly appreciate about Lower Decks is their consistent dedication to the classic Star Trek story balance:

A-plot: Lieutenant Shaxs is wrestling a psychic manifestation of his rage and trauma on the astral plane. Dr. T'Ana is experimenting with her own pain thresholds to better understand anesthetics. "you defeated me, but can you stand your own against dozens of Cardassian warriors?" "they were not warriors! they were occupiers!" exploration of guilt, PTSD. social commentary. how much do we really know about the limits of a living body?..

B-plot: Ensign Barnes is still part cavewoman but she's having her sousaphone recital 🕺💃 there are space cow armadillos in the hangar bay licking asteroids 😑 mpreg tentacle ensign has invited Captain Freeman to their fertility ceremony 🥰

The Weirdest Places on Federation Starships

Engineering on the U.S.S. Enterprise (2009 Star Trek) has a maze of coolant pipes which of course lead to a giant blender

The classic movie Enterprise-A has a 78 deck turbolift shaft, numbered bottom to top when she ship should really only have 20something decks, numbered from top to bottom

There's an entire swamp on the deck beneath the arboretum on the U.S.S. Cerritos (Lower Decks), full of hallucinogenic spores

The U.S.S. Franklin (Star Trek Beyond) has 3 decks on the outside, but an infinite turbolift shaft on the inside

But the U.S.S. Discovery NCC-1031-A tops everything with The Great Turbolift Carverns hidden between her decks, stretching off into infinity and full of what look like giant electrical transformers and entire buildings

Mariner: One time I vented my emotions by simulating the entire crew of the Cerritos and killing them off one by one. It was oddly therapeutic.
