Hey! I finished up another little resource I've been slowly putting together.

I've put together a turnaround reference of every character in the game, with every alternate appearance, both full bodies and profile views.

The full body views include a hatless young Graham for scale. There is a bit of an issue regarding characters with armor- I'm not very savvy with blender admittedly, and all of the metal comes out really dark. It isn't too bad, save for Manny, who doesn't even have his green feather. I'd like to fix those once I can. Also, capes are omitted. I think that only applies to Graham and Whisper though.

I'll be finishing up doing the same for the animals at some point, and I'm planning on making a few references for certain character's weapons, or other interesting items.

Also- along with the profile views, I included some of Graham's head at every angle by 10 degrees, from head on, lower, and upper angles. Thought it would be helpful to see how his hat works from any direction. The images are huge, here's a gif of them all together.

Hope these will come of use! I've been working on it for a while.

I just had a very enlightening experience!

Having just watched the new Jaiden video about her ADHD, it gave me thoughts.

I found it very relatable how she felt like she had things under control in her formative years compared to her current self that made her feel like she fell off after leaving high school. How she remembered being well organized and put together as a child but couldn't conjure up that same motivation and work ethic in her adult years. I felt that.

And how even after getting the idea that she might have ADHD, she put off getting diagnosed because of that mental back-and-forth of "oh maybe, oh maybe not". I'm feeling that

I'm at a point where while I am aware that I am some degree of neurodivergent, but don't know how much. And I'm also hesitant with getting a proper diagnosis because I don't know how to explain this to my parents.

It honestly does feel relieving how some of my experiences is/has also been experienced by a person I've looked up to for a long time, it feels validating.

Silas only allows autumn leaves and snow to fall where your feet don’t touch but your eyes can still see.

It’s an odd sort of shape, the barrier he has around his tree. It reminds him of those little sketches you do he puts by his bedside table. He read from a book that human mothers do that whenever their children give them drawings, though you never gave yours to him per se. More likely than not you were waiting for a more special occasion, but he found them in your toy box whilst he was tidying up from another long day of taking care of you. 

What a unique art style you have – he read in the same book that human children’s little doodles can be nearly unrecognizable from what they are supposed to be most of the time, so he doesn’t question how the circles you drew kept going around and around and leading to nowhere.

A snail’s shell, perhaps? 

The spirals seemed too large and too filled… 

He’ll give you points for creativity. 

Positive reinforcement was key with these kinds of things, or so he’s been told – if you ever ask for a pet snail, he’ll get one for you in little to no time at all.

After only a little bit of time, you learned how to let the frustration out in a way that didn’t have Silas doting over you so suffocatingly – drawing spirals. You were told once by a friend they can be therapeutic in times of stress. You most likely will never see her again but you would want to hug her because it works. 

You hid them amongst the dolls and building blocks you were given in times you were alone – staring at them made you feel less lonely, made you feel like you had more of a choice in how you spent your waking hours.

You didn’t expect Silas to find them. He never checks your toy box because you tidy it up so often.

You don’t know how to explain your drawings in a way Silas will understand. Not that he understands a lot of things that come out of your mouth.

You just nod. Maybe drawing a snail’s body below those spirals can help you too.

“Good girl! Listening so well!” His smile widens and you can see his eyes getting watery already.

How one Justice League made us care about lesser-known heroes, while the other JL failed to market beyond Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman

Rewatching the Justice League, because my life is a wreck and I am awful, but maybe I'll be able to relearn the life lessons I already knew at age twelve.

Gotta say, the Justice League has pretty smart strategic thinking with the characters. When watching episode 1, I was vaguely confused at why the creative team decided Superman would fight the giant three-legged alien for ages and lose, while Hawkgirl beat its leg up in two seconds flat and Flash tripped it in five. Why is he stupid and punching the laser eye that keeps lasering him instead of the skinny, spindly leg? Well, most of the audience already knows Superman, they don't know Hawkgirl. We (the general audience at the time) don't need to be persuaded that Superman is cool and powerful, we've already believed he's powerful through years of comics, Superman TAS, live-action films, etc. We need to be persuaded that Hawkgirl is cool and powerful, and to care about her as a newly introduced character in our lives.

Same genius strategy in episode 2. The Big Three are conveniently Not In The Episode.

"I'll notify the others."

"Wonder Woman's on another case, Superman's dealing with an earthquake, and Batman would only say that he's busy."

"Typical."

First off, genius low-effort way to provide (albeit somewhat basic) characterization for the missing characters this episode. Wonder Woman is Being Responsible in the team's downtime, Superman is Saving People, and Batman is Not A Team Player and Doesn't Explain Things. In fact, this is usual behavior. Second off, right off the bat (ha), the show is creating circumstances for us to care about the lesser known characters. Don't be distracted by the Big Three! Episode 2 is an episode about Hawkgirl, Green Lantern John Stewart, Martian Manhunter, and Wally West's Flash; the Big Three don't even show up. Time to get you invested in the non-Big Three characters.

(Edit: okay, so Superman showed up 10 minutes later but my point stands. He gets equal narrative importance and WW & Bats don't show up.)

And they succeeded. As kids, we all grew to love these characters. It's something the DCEU was desperately missing and the MCU did very well. Maybe we're drawn in by the Big Three, by the well-known heroes. But once we're here, make us care about the others. I watched the 2017 Justice League movie, and could not tell you a thing about why I cared for Aquaman and Cyborg--Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman carried my interest. Meanwhile, the Captain America films made me bawl my eyes out about Bucky Barnes for multiple consecutive movies.

And yet, the DCU is capable of making me care about lesser-known heroes. Even that one cowboy hero in JLU who only showed up in two episodes impressed me with his grit and absolute bullheaded-ness, to the point I still remember him now, a decade later. I remember him more than I remember Aquaman in the Justice League movie. The only reason I'm not asking who's that is his Throne of Atlantis film.
