People who ask why Tuvok’s hairline is like that have become desensitized to the bowlcut...to be Vulcan is to have either incredibly stupid and/or incredibly ornate hair.

going to go straight for the jugular. 10
10. worst part of fanon ok the serious answer to me is that the worst part is the subsets of characters that get focused on/don’t get focused on and the intersections with racism and sexism. it’s harder for me to speak to mischaracterization because I’ve curated my circle pretty well and I don’t reeeaaally tend to read a lot of fic, but just in going into tags and whatever the difference in levels of content is stark. like as one example if kiradax wasn’t f/f I think they’d have garashir’s level of popularity given how popular dynamics like that tend to be, and yet even with the advantage of them both being white there’s often not that much content. but then even for characters with easy convenient m/m ships like…do you know how hard it is to find just geordi content separate from geordi/data? I like the ship but sometimes I just want to see my best friend geordi la forge yknow. I will say though shoutout to the primarily-voy fandom or at least what I tend to see of it because I feel like I do see a lot of tuvok and b’elanna and harry which is nice.
and like. I’m not saying I’m personally immune to any of that! ik there are ways in which I personally can/should do better bc I was also raised in a society tm!! but it’s still definitely also an overall trend and I think we shouldn’t just fall in line with what the writers’ biases often are yknow.
anyway the petty answer is that anyone who still calls characters himbos is almost definitely completely wrong about the character please look at the character’s canon actions because like 99% of the time they’re actually really not stupid.

i’m like halfway done with s1 of voyager and here are my opinions so far:
- i refuse to believe janeway is a dog person,, she’s a cat lady
- yas girl get your coffee
- love how we started off with all the trek tropes^TM... violation of the prime directive, alien civilization that looks just like humans but with funky clothing, time skips, weird sentient fog creature....
- tuvok is already DONE with everyone
- b’elanna... 10/10 please break my nose 😩💕💕
- i must protect kes at all costs,, ma’am...🥺
- janeway is neurodivergent- i absolutely do NOT take criticism
- also tom paris radiates BIG bisexual energy 👀

Can we talk about how Kathryn, Chakotay, and Tuvok look at one another with the dissapointed parent TM look on their faces when Tom says B’Elanna bit him? 🤣🤣🤣

Crossover Crack Ship Toxic Yaoi
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Important!: In these scenarios, Spock and Bones are just normal people to Tuvok and the Doctor and NOT practically historical figures whom they may or may not have read about and looked up to. This is just person-to-person and vibe-to-vibe. 'Winning' in this context means 'most interesting' or 'speaks to your heart more' - which brand of toxicity is emitting the most enticing siren's call? Vibes and potential points of friction under the cut.
S/T Overview: Spock and Tuvok have canonically clashed in the past, with Tuvok "speaking out against" his more radical ideas. (Though that obviously hasn't happened in this scenario, since their personalities are the same I don't see why it wouldn't) I can imagine that if they were on the same ship for any length of time, Spock would be compared to Tuvok and it would remind Spock of being back on Vulcan slash negative. Tuvok frequently dictates what is and is not Vulcan in casual speech, leading to even more avenues for direct comparison and not-so-subtle digs. I can imagine Tuvok seeing Spock as reckless and inappropriately emotional, especially since in this scenario there is no historical-figure-spock who's proven himself to be a wise and revolutionary thinker whom Tuvok respects. I can imagine there's something here about Kirk since I don't think Tuvok would mesh well with him and might outright dislike him. Tuvok negs Spock about playing chess instead of kal-toh, which he canonically thinks is leagues above chess - the game for baby idiots. Dr/B Overview: Bones canonically distrusts tech and would absolutely not take a holographic doctor well, especially as the only Doctor on board his ship. They are both prone to being snide and neither are great about interacting with women but would 100% view the other as being worse. The Doctor often talks about how he's better because of his holographic nature (despite his clear longing to be more Human) and this would infuriate Mccoy because no stinkin' hologram could ever compare to Human hands! A Human heart! They are both prideful and resolute in what they think is right, which I imagine would often be in conflict with one another. What does it mean to be Human? What does it mean to be alive? Loud opera singing during work hours. Both want romance and are unlucky in love but would immediately blame the other for their own romantic blunders. What kind of woman would want YOU? The Doctor would lecture Mccoy about his drinking and peer over his shoulder making corrections to every little thing he does because it's not Perfect[tm] like what HE can do. But if you're fine with being subpar... These are just the vague shapes in my head, if you have other potential avenues for toxicity that sparks YOUR interest/joy please feel free to share them in the reblogs, notes, etc!

Maquis Outfit
Text: I hate this orange-green color combo but this man rocked up to his pon farr holodeck in a green-purple flower grid clashing patterns robe combo so it's in character I usually associate Tuvok with jewel tones and cooler colors so it's interesting that his Maquis outfit doesn't have any of that
Also I know this is probably just them still deciding on Tuvok's look but in 'Caretaker' he has much heavier eye makeup and I'd like to imagine it was part of his disguise. That's his Maquis Look(tm).

Doodles of a fem Tuvok.....Her.
#cannot decide if she's trans or not#I really like the thought of trans Tuvok in either direction but specifically for mtf trans Tuvok - the thought that she discovers that#while actually ON Voyager...or shortly before Voyager and thus has to figure it out on the ship#and she's (Vulcan) worried her family won't accept it when she gets back home to them but they immediately embrace her#the makeup is not canon but I always draw Tuvok with more makeup than he usually has#and I will never stop...bc Vulcans love a killer eye look#also Tuvok 100% knows all of T'Pel's measurements. That's a canon fact - just does v_v power of love#I like drawing Tuvok with long hair but realistically she'd think it's too much to bother with while working#and also it loses some of that patented Tuvok Dome-Head Look(tm) which is so loveable#fem Neelix is your aunt that gives you a smooch and leaves a lipstick mark on your cheek#she calls Tuvok Ms.Vulcan until Tuvok clears her throat one day and points out that she IS married...#and Neelix thinks its very cute that she cares about that sort of thing...~!!#also picturing Janeway having a crisis if she wasn't attracted to Tuvok until she came out as trans and then was like 'hmm...pretty...'#fem Neelix also 1000% does 'just us gals here!' intimacy with Tuvok w/o thinking anything of it until Tuvok explains that Vulcans don't#casually do those things amongst friends and she's sort of embarrassed and Neelix is like...HM. ...<- Lesbian awakening moment#(seeing girl flustered)#also I'm not changing any of their names. I'd make the whole ship lesbians and their names would be the same. Maybe T'Vok? but that's it#lesbian Tom Paris when? <- @ me...ugh...but I do not want to draw toom paaris...he's so b oring to look at...#anyway...like I said...it's fucking OVER for me#st voy#st voy art#Tuvok art#st voyager#st voyager art#star trek#star trek art#trans Tuvok#fem Tuvok#Tuvok

hello I just wanted to let you know i’m obsessed with the way you draw Seven of Nine. your autistic seven content has watered my crops and cleared my skin thank u
Tumblr media
I love Seven of Nine!! I like her aesthetic. She and Tuvok have my gender in a vice grip.
I would redesign her so her catsuit isn't as SkintightSexy but I really like her silver/blue aesthetic...in my version she has a few form fitting but solid (not practically see-through cloth but ones that seem actually sturdy, like she needs to be packed in) jumpsuits (one which mimics the starfleet uniform) and every version has an alt. which compresses her chest if she wants to go for a flat look. Seven is very androgynous in my mind, even with breasts! Breasts are nothing to her. I like her with short hair...Seven, as I said, has my gender in a vice grip. A body that is so heavily sexualized/womanized but she doesn't care about womanhood at all - barely able to grasp personhood after being in the borg...trying to get along with others but genuinely unable to understand how to do that. I love her cadence too...the way she speaks...she and Tuvok both have unique speech patterns! I really love Seven for all of this...I can't see the Picard!Seven as truly Seven of Nine...she just seems like Some Lady to me?? And I really like Characters[tm]...silly, funky guys. I think female characters or feminine looking characters are often made more "boring" (imo) than male characters with less eccentricities or quirks or flaws so I think Seven should be allowed to be weird and look "off" and act "inhuman" and everyone should clap for her. Concepts I associate with Seven: Androgny. A sharp kind of cool (like mint or ice). A looming feeling, being watched/analyzed. The relief of not having to make decisions/being part of something larger. The fear of being very small. Dispassionate voice. Theatre/Acting. Well shined boots. Eyes that look hungry. Very precise movements which are not GRACEFUL? But more STRONG? Less like ballet and more like knowing the exact place to kick to break a bone. Disconnect between mind and body where mind is placed above the body (EX: I Am A Brain). Fear of being imperfect and thus worthless. Not knowing how to touch gently. Feeling out of sync but not knowing why. The phrase "Cold Hard Facts". Someone making a face you don't recognize. The phrase "Aren't you forgetting something?" (with a smile). Cleanliness/Streamlined. Water on the cusp of freezing. Anyway I really love Seven and I'm glad you like her too!
