We've been trying to figure out our aesthetic, on another note.. but it's not going well so far. We're all convinced we're.. kind of lame honestly. We have good sensibility, it's just.. a lot of it feels performative. Maybe I'm just too depressed but we're not extremely invested in our aesthetic origins, which in turn makes us feel distant from it, and then it feels performative to express our like of it. I got a policy on all new tech that I don't know -- I hate it from the get-go, & it needs to prove it's useful before I'm willing to accept it.

If a piece of tech isn't improving anything, you don't need that tech*. You need what that tech is trying to replace.

*I'll specify that this is a case-by-case basis for each individual. I.E. I wouldn't buy a smart soap dispenser -- I can buy an analog one, & I have no difficulty using it or need to slap a sensor onto it, meanwhile somebody with fine motor movement issues might find it easier than trying to press down a hand pump.
