Animated Mandalas (With Code!)
In some of the rare times where I create something small and cool, I love sharing it with other people :)
For context, I've been working on a video game and started looking into some loading screens. I got carried away a bit, but I loved the capabilities and parameters I could experiment with here!
Since my game is set in a Mystery Solarpunk world, I was aiming for brighter and lighter color schemes :).
I was surprised with how beautiful all the parameter combinations can be!

Code
So if you want to try it yourself, feel free to check out the following repo:
https://github.com/AB3000/processing-fun/tree/main/MandalaRunner
You will need to download Processing in order to run it. It's a nice open-source sketchbook language built on top of Java to draw some cool visuals :)).

If you end up creating something with it, please tag me so I can see your creations! B)
Also, if you happen to have a GitHub account, I would love it if you could star the repo as well (but no pressure on this!) :))
More Inspiration?
Want some more inspiration? Check out the examples here! :)

Rather than do pre-christmas stuff, I do the ADHD thing of "lets not do the important thing but instead work on the more fun thing" so, raise your hand if that is big mood
I should be wrapping presents, tidying, dishes, laundry, making santa cookies, etc. but no.
Since I am shirking my adult responsibilities, and trying to distract myself from my ever constant anxiety and mental health, I've been playing around with some stained glass cross stitch coloring book patterns. Or, not coloring book patterns, should I decide that some look away more awesome colored in. Be it with singular color, or awesome geeky themed like with the Raining Rupees.
Now, I may not list ALL of them. Or maybe? Not sure yet. Especially on the pin wheel patterns. Pinwheel patterns tend to be iffy, especially since there is no way to avoid that particular shape in the middle. (even if it's not even facing the particular direction)
And I still want to shirk my adulting until my nauseating mini migraine goes away, so. I might design more.
Could you see yourself stitching these? (Market research, y'know)
So, do you have a favorite? Do you have a favorite that you 100% know HAS to be a colored version and nothing else? Or do you like one, but think it deserves a better name? Let me know in the comments!
Or, let me know what kind of "GEEK NERD" one looks like, and I can try a color version that is themed to that particular fandom (like I did with the D pad)
Either way, I am having SO much fun designing these, and some are turning out SUPER FUCKING NEAT!
Oh yeah, and December is almost over. Don't forget about my 50% off sale!

Walking on Art
Deindre Dyson
Explorations in Carpet Design

A practical introduction to the techniques of contemporary carpet design Walking on Art explores contemporary carpet design from a practitioner’s viewpoint, describing through techniques and illustrations Deirdre Dyson’s fourteen-year journey from figurative painter to carpet designer. A foreword by Professor Sir Christopher Frayling contextualizes Dyson’s award-winning work within discussions about art and design, and then Dyson herself reflects on her long experience of designing exquisite luxury carpets. The chapter “Techniques" introduces the traditional methods that create these carpets including hand knotting, hand tufting, and carving, and how these conventions can be manipulated to create stunning effects. “Process" then explores the steps—from inspiration to making—that lie behind any design. These chapters are followed by colorful illustrations of Dyson’s extensive collections. Here are fanciful butterfly motifs alongside geometric patterns and floral designs, brought together in one stunning collection.
