Hello all. You might have known by now that the sole reason for creating this blog is to enter the void and manifest my dream life. So I wanna track my journey here. Here is the routine I follow
1. during the day I make sure get enough sunlight and workout
2. I will meditate on the pineal gland for 15-20 mins in the morning and in the evening
3. I stop eating 3 hours before bed and I stop blue light three hours before bed
4. I will listen to my fav lucid dream subliminal - entire playlist and @adambja I am in control tape
5. I will affirm out loud in the mirror before sleeping
6. I will script and affirm rampages/vaunts on void 5 times atleast
7. at night I will do sats with the theta wave meditation in the background
8. the important step: I will get sound sleep for 6 hours and then I'll wake and move around (take a leak, eat and drink) then I will stretch/excercise for a bit to make myself tired and I will change my sleeping place and position (I will sleep on my back) and do some breath work to relax and enter the vibrational stage by listening to slade's void sub. If I do end up sleeping then I will do the phase method during my awakenings!
that's it!!! I know this is complicated but this got me too close many times so I won't stop the routine. I might skip a few steps except for the last cuz that's the crucial part.
Here is the part where I will keep updating. This method was inspired by @sugarcoatedcherry so thanks a lot bb. I would love if you guys kept commenting to ask for progress since it keeps me motivated to try the routine and update regularly. Help a girly out :)
Day 1: I was able to realise I'm dreaming in a dream :)
Day 2: I got 5 vivid dreams and I was able to recall everything:)
Day 3: I couldn't recall any dreams I had :/
Day 4: so i didn't sleep last night lmao
Day 5: I LUCID DREAMT
Day 6: I barely slept lmao
Day 7: I got only 4 hrs of sleep because I fasted the night
Day 8: I didn't sleep all day because I had terrible period cramps
day 9: I had one very vivid dream and I tried entering the void later. I was having hypnagogic sceneries but I couldn't enter a lucid dream
day 10: I took a nap and I dreamt of a nightmare where I was drowning? it was scary omg
day 11: I didn't follow the routine and didn't recall anything
day 12: I recalled every single dream (one of them was steamy 🥰)

my take on an american classic: japanese milk dough with plenty of gooey cinnamon sugar. perfect for dessert or breakfast
makes 9 // active time 45 mins // inactive time 2-4 hrs

ingredients:
25 g (1/4 cup) flour for tangzhong
60 ml (1/4 cup) each milk and water for tangzhong
350g (~3 cups) all purpse flour*
60g (1/4 cup) granulated sugar
1 packet (2 tsp) yeast
4g (1 tsp) salt
1 large egg
120 ml (1/2 cup) milk
60g (4 tbsp) butter, softened - for dough
30g (2 tbsp) butter, softened - for filling
1/3 cup packed brown sugar (white sugar works too)
2 tsp cinnamon (adjust to taste)
* this measurement is based on the (very humid) weather where i live. for my friends at altitude: you may only need 325 grams.
optionally, for some icing:
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar

the process:
1) Don't forget to begin warming your butter! Properly softened butter does wonders for the dough.
2) Place tangzhong flour, milk, and water in a saucepan and stir until well combined and no longer lumpy.
3) Cook over medium heat until it becomes thick, fluffy, and the spoon leaves tracks in the pan. Stir constantly. This can take 3 to 5 minutes based on the heat level.

4) Let tangzhong cool to room temperature. This will take 30 minutes to an hour.
5) Once tangzhong is mostly cooled, warm your milk just slightly (I usually use the microwave for 15-30 seconds). You should be able to put your finger in it and feel the warmth but not be burned: think bathwater temperature.
6) Activate your yeast: stir the yeast and a pinch of sugar into the warmed milk. Let this combination sit for 10 to 15 minutes until bubbly. If it doesn't bubble at all, your yeast is likely dead.

7) Measure out flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Mix to combine. You can use a stand mixer if you have one, but mixing by hand works just as well.
8) Add tangzhong and egg to the flour mixture. Mix until combined.
9) Slowly pour in the yeast-milk mixture while mixing. Add just enough so that it forms a dry dough - the amount of milk needed will vary from day to day, you may need more than the recipe calls for and you may need less. Don't worry about the dryness, the butter will add the rest of the moisture.

^ this here is a bit too wet. it's already sticking together and to my hands. i ended up adding quite a bit of flour to prevent it from becoming a sticky mess.
10) Knead in butter until combined and smooth. The dough shouldn't be too sticky - add in more flour if needed.
11) Knead dough for 5 to 10 minutes until smooth and no longer sticky. Make sure to flour your hands and surface to prevent sticking!
12) Place dough into a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a towel, and let proof until doubled in size (can take up to 2 hours). Pro tip: keep this someplace warm! If you're desperate, place it in the oven (off) with a bowl of boiling water.

13) If desired, you can punch down the dough and let it proof for another 1-2 hours, but I find this unnecessary.
14) Roll out your dough into a large rectangle, roughly 14 in by 6 in.
15) Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
16) Spread the second portion of butter over your dough rectangle.
17) Generously sprinkle cinnamon sugar in the center. Use as much as you want - the more the better >:3
18) Roll the dough from the long side, making a long log. Keep the dough tight while you roll it or your rolls might turn out like aliens
19) Slice the log into 9 even pieces and place them in a greased 9x9 pan. Place the end pieces with the swirled side up for aesthetics.
20) Cover again with plastic wrap or a towel (same one from earlier) and let proof for 20 minutes
21) While the dough proofs - heat up your oven to 350º F (180ºC)
22) Bake rolls for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown. At this point the kitchen should smell like a bakery - that's how you know they're done.

23) Let rolls cool in the pan. Meanwhile, make the icing!
24) Beat cream cheese until soft, slowly add powdered sugar until a thin, drizzly consistency. Yes, it will thin when you add your sugar. Don't ask why because I don't know.
25) Generously top your rolls with icing and you're done!

bestie i just read your reading list and …… any suggestions how to read more? i have read only 3 books this year :(
omg 3 is a LOT! i work in a bookstore and read their and abt 5 more hrs a day because i have no social life lol but my point is i do books for a living! most of my friends read 12-20 books this year and ur right on track! here’s some advice i hope is helpful! if others want to share their thoughts, pls do
1. i just got a kindle and obsessed and knocking books out left and right!
2. use ur library and dnf books u rnt feeling within ~50 pages! it takes me 3x as long to get through a book i dont love and its hard to motivate myself to sit down and open it. i put this w/using libraries because it makes it guiltless to dnf! i used to buy books and felt like i was wasting $20 if i stopped! now i have a list of the books ive read i want to own and am curating my bookshelf:)
3. join book clubs! my gf has joined 3 since meeting me and reads abt a book a week now, where before they were reading 1 a month. this might contradict dnfing books u dont love but will motivate u to find out the genres u like and step out of ur comfort zone
4. audiobooks! if you can do it, they count and anyone who says they dont is lying! a lot of ppl i know cant do audiobooks; i can only do them for memoirs (where i feel like km listening to a podcast). i recommend libby (free) or libro.fm (ethical alternative to amazon).
5. join storygraph!! it helps u track ur reading and u can put in annual page and book goals and tells u if uve fallen behind! it motivates me to stay on stop of my goal, i want to see my stats grow and diversify, and im lowkey competitive so seeing my friends read im like I WANNA READ TOO
6. find friends who read! nothing like getting a book rec from them! and nothing like sharing ur thoughts abt a book with them! or recommending to them! i love my bookish community and they inspire me to read diversely every day
7. white noise! something ive started doing when reading is putting in headphones and playing white noise. reading gets me out of my head and this does too. i can just focus on the words on the device and i feel like im in my enclosure!
8. invest in a good reading spot in ur home. if u can find a place that works for u, whether it be ur bed, couch, or a reading nook. commit to sitting there for 20-30 minutes a day with ur device on the other side of the room! if u read 30 mins/day u’ll likely finish a book abt every 2 weeks!
9. turn to your book, not ur phone. have 10 minutes of downtime? grab ur book, not social media. these minutes add up and u’ll find u’ll want to pick ur book up more as u get in the habit. especially before bed or first thing in the morning! or if u watch youtube when u eat alone, read instead:)
10. take time picking a book! a lot of my non-bookish friends think they can just pick up any book on the shelf, but as i said in 2. if u dont like the book, u wont read it. do research! if theres an identity you want a main character to have so its relatable, find it! if u know u like YA books, browse that section of ur library. this is also why storygraph is so great- it recommends based off taste and a personalized algorithm! theres also a lot of quizzes and lists (bookriot i recommend) to find books! it takes time to find ur book preferences, but once u do, it will be easier to feel success in reading!

what got you into running + what motivates you to keep doing it? i am really interested in starting but i don’t really know where to start tbh … so i thought i could just ask a pro!
my sister! she did cross country in hs and I just wanted to be like her and I immediately loved it and made my own friends once I joined!! the thing I loved the most in hs was that we grouped up with people who ran at a similar pace so we kept each other motivated and also had a reason to make friends lol
once I graduated, for a while I didn't want to run on my own bc I was so used to running in a group and seeing my friends was my biggest motivator but I'm at a point now where I can just tell myself to go out for any amount of time and be happy with that and get the endorphins and still call myself a runner lol
idk what keeps me motivated now I just like it and go when I want for however long and whenever I feel anxious or angry or just general shit I love to go on a run and come back refreshed. kinda like a shower but better idk it's actual serotonin and endorphins i can't explain but it is probably explainable. idk if i actually have goals now i just go for the fun of it but if i feel good ill stretch out for a longer time than usual and it feels good to have achieved it when i didnt actually plan to lol
new year new anon!!!! im glad youre getting into running i feel like its the best thing that ever happened to me. feels like shit at first but its so good for you mentally and physically! youre doing good by asking questions! so where to start is actually a lot of info:
like with anything else the hardest part is starting!! make it a habit to go on a run like twice a week and build up to doing either more days or more time. your first few days will be tiring if you're not used to expending that kind of energy so it's okay if you don't meet whatever goal you set for yourself! just listen to your body and rest when it's tired and eat when it's hungry. and walking is okay too! I actually always take a break at my half way point and walk around for like 3 min or however long it takes for my heart rate to settle and then run back.
here's a list for your first run:
1. eat (hopefully carbs)
2. digest (like an hr at least)
3. warm up/dynamic stretching (do some leg swings, high knees, butt kicks, etc anything that gets your heart rate up and your muscles loose) this is something I used to skip unless I ran with a group but I have found it does in fact make a difference bc now you actually feel the energy and you do in fact get less injuries like this
4. run with goals that make sense. make it to the end of the block or make it to the baseball field at the park or the next stoplight or one lap around the track whatever it is that makes sense to you and is an achievable distance to you specifically. and these are goals you can make up as you go along and start figuring out how much you can handle. running distances feel different from driving distances so don't worry about making a certain mileage and just shoot for running 5-10 minutes and then turn around. a 10 minute run is an easy goal for a first run but I think you can do 15 or 20 if you take breaks and walk in between!
5. hydrate. I mean hydrate before also but not too much bc then ur tummy gets swishy and sometimes I get stitch in my side from it lol most of my water drinking happens after but that's just me
6. static stretching! honestly maybe even follow a yoga video on YouTube. this is to prevent injury and soreness you will still feel sore the next day but not as badly if you stretch lol
7. lay down or sit on the floor. I feel too stinky to be anywhere that isn't the floor but I also don't want to shower yet so just be on the floor. it's good. feels good.
last thoughts on a couple of things: imo a watch with a stopwatch is better than a phone but you can also just get one of those arm strap things for your phone if you prefer and also if you want to listen to music while you run. get shoes meant for running! Mizuno, ASICS, Brooks (Brooks Ghost my beloved) are some brands I can think of that are good brands I've worn. you can prevent injuries with some proper shoes tho it can get pricey :/ I pull all the stops and go to a running store that does a foot scan and gait analysis bc it's fun and I run a lot but you don't need to do all that just go to any athletic store and try on some shoes and walk around do a lil jog in them I don't suggest buying them online bc it is good to feel them before you buy
AND LASTLY! EAT LOTS!! YOU'RE USING UP A LOT OF ENERGY HERE YOU GOTTA GET IT BACK SOMEHOW!
bananas are so good for you if you have a sensitive tummy or are short on time for food beforehand but please eat something anything before and after. food is love and everything and its especially wonderful to run while someone is cooking and arrive to some fresh food this is a hack to truly appreciate someones cooking also so i love it

Day 1: Persian Studying
Listening
Manoto Episode: 1 hr. understood bits, got the vague overall gist especially when I was looking at the video and not just listening. The stories I was able to follow the easiest were the dog at the hospital and the vegan ‘cooks’! 
Reading 
Advanced Farsi Reading: 30 mins. A single paragraph lol. That I reread like 4 times after translating it. Okay, so this book is way above my level BUT it is made for students and I like that it has very short paragraphs, word banks, and exercises. 
Studying 
Mango languages: ~20mins. Learned and revised some prepositions and furniture vocab.  Easy Persian L32: 20-30 mins. Learned how to use “for x amnt of time” with the present perfect. Did the practice set. 
This post is inspired by this amazing Korean langblr that I follow @itslostfocus  . When I read the post I felt the same way: I’ve definitely been inconsistent and have plateaued to a point where I start to regress and have to re-learn.  My plan is to post what I did to immerse myself/learn and to really focus on Farsi for 6 months. It’ll be nice to look back on these posts to track my progress. I’ll still be working on Korean, Portuguese, French, and Spanish but much less intensely. I hope this post inspires you to start your own or gives you ideas for resources to use or organizing your own studies. Thank you for reading:)

I finally did what I've been wanting to do for 4 years and time stamped the plot points of Ghostbusters 2016 and calculated what percent of the movie they occurred at and I can confirm - the pacing is off. (Also the final act of Erin's character arc was scrapped with the deleted scenes but we already knew that.)
Hook: Aldridge Mansion tour and the fake haunting vs real haunting juxtaposition
Inciting Incident: Ed Jr finds Erin through a copy of her and Abby's book - 6 min
Key Event - Abby, Erin, and Holtz see the Aldridge Mansion ghost - 17 min
followed immediately by the First Plot Point (end of Act 1): Erin is fired - 19 min (17.5%)
actual 25% mark - moving into the new lab above the Chinese restaurant. This is a reaction to Act 1. NOT the end of Act 1. Needed more intro for pacing purposes.
They meet Patty, see a second ghost, continue gathering resources and building equipment. Not directly threatened by Rowan at all, though all of their work is reacting to his devices and the damage they leave behind. So the Second Act Part 1 rule of "protagonist reacts" holds in that regard.
Midpoint: the team captures a ghost - dead on 55 min (50%)
NOW all the antagonists come out to play. Martin Heiss, Homeland, the Mayor. Then the team discovers Rowan's identity and track him down. They make active decisions in the main fight against Rowan, but I feel like they're reacting to everyone else so it makes the back half of the second act a little muddy.
Third plot point (end of Act 2): Rowan kills himself and Homeland fake arrests the team. - 1 hr 14 min (69%)
Actual 75% mark - Erin warns the Mayor which is after Erin chose to face her fears and just before Rowan makes his final move to open the portal. All of which is firmly third act stuff, not end of Act 2. The midpoint is perfect, but otherwise the whole second act needs to be reworked.
This is when we needed all of those deleted scenes. The fake arrest teed her up and now Erin needs to hit rock bottom. She fights with Abby. She leaves. Rowan moves his final pieces into place first by possessing Abby and then Kevin so he can open the portal. Erin decides the lives of her friends (and the world) are more important than her reputation - but the journey's not done. The decision hasn't set as the new normal yet. She can still slip back into old patterns.
Climax: Rowan drags Abby into the portal - 1 hr 39 min (91%). Ugh the villain making their last ditch effort to win even in defeat and thus forcing the protagonist (Erin) to complete their character arc to save the day. This is when Erin's character transformation is final. She chooses to save Abby in the moment yes, but she's also choosing Abby for any future crisis or criticism that may come. "I wasn't going to leave you twice." Erin will not leave. She realizes what she should've known 20 years ago: Abby is more important to her than her public reputation. GORGEOUS! The climax doesn't have a set timing, but 91% feels pretty spot on.
In conclusion, the pacing wasn't terrible, but it still needs work. More of Erin and Abby's history needs to be fleshed out in the beginning. And honestly, the first act would also benefit from having Patty's intro in it instead of waiting until the early second act to meet her. I also believe an argument can be made either about too many antagonists or too many antagonists not introduced until the second half of the second act. Finally, Erin's character arc is absolutely necessary for the climax to land. I cannot believe they had this beautiful, perfect moment that functions as the climax of both the main villain plot AND the protagonist's personal journey, and they fucking undermine it by DELETING ALL OF ERIN'S IMPORTANT SCENES.

Almost there! Pff.. Thursdays are hard though when I can practically smell the weekend and have lunch with hubby at the garage and he has cookies or chocolate lying around. So I planned a filling breakfast tomorrow to fuel my 7k bike ride and 2,5 hrs of cleaning in the morning: oatmeal. And I am going to have a delicious and satisfying lunch I can look forward to: soup and a sandwich 😁
If I'll start to crave something sweet after lunch I'll think about how not having it then, will make it extra enjoyable during the weekend. 💪🏼
#no s diet & #ed recovery rant
I think I'm doing very well. Sometimes it feels weird to still be talking about ED recovery but even though some of my 'real ED problems' (whatever defines that anyway) were a long time ago, some things you just continue carrying with you - invisible to the outside world. When people see me they will probably have no idea I had (have?) issues with food. They have no idea that for me bringing home not an individual serving of ice cream but a whole pint is a Big Step. I'm tracking my intake and 'days on habit' - is that healthy or unhealthy behavior? I don't know but all I know is that at the moment I need this to stay on track with taking care of myself. Some people can do this naturally: self care. Me, I had to learn it. That's okay. I'm grateful I finally know how.

My (23F) fiance (23M) is asked to go home to do chores for several days at a time and im sick of it
I need strategies for discussing this issue, since im getting progressively angrier about it and i dont want this to turn into a larger issue. Weve been together for 4 years, for some context. My fiance is often asked to go to his parents house for several days at a time to do house maintenance and yard work. He missed our anniversary last year because he needed to paint the house for the hundredth time. Hes currently there now, since theyre putting in a new fence, and he spent 2 days staining fences and pulling out thistles. The only reason he didnt put in the fence and refurbish the old one was because it was storming yesterday. They just give him a list of random chores to do. Hes now helping his mom transfer photos from her phone to her computer. He doesnt know if he will be home for dinner and wont know until hes done with that. He has a 17 year old brother at home and a 20 year old brother closer to their house than we are, since we live 1.5 hrs, 2 hrs away. That brother lives 45 mins away. I  am getting progressively more irritated that the 17 year old is apparently incapable of doing any chores, and the 20 year old who is CLOSER gets a free pass as well. Like really, your mom needs YOU SPECIFICALLY to transfer these pictures when she has a capable other son at home? I have talked to him about it in the past, and he says he feels guilty because he messed up his first 2 years of college really really badly, and they helped him financially and forgave him for basically failing out (Hes back on track now with good grades). I want to scream that we have our own life now. You may not always be within driving distance, like what are they going to do then? I am essentially your WIFE and you cant tell me if youre going to be HOME FOR DINNER? PLEASE reddit, i need some advice

Some things I’ve learned...
So this is the beginning of week 4 of my quarantine (no schools no social life outside of work (I’m an essential service worker)) and over the last few weeks I’ve figured out some things that help make life and studying in quarantine much easier.
1. If you have things you need to do and you keep pushing off break it into tasks and make a TO DO LIST and I know y’all have heard it before but it does really help keep you on track and after 2-3 weeks of doing this I’ve actually started feeling guilty about not completing my daily list. NOTE keep it simple, it doesn’t have to be fancy ( unless you LIKE fancy and want to do that) Saying this probably makes me the laziest least aesthetic studyblr ever but I don’t make fancy lists because I spend too much time making the list and then I want a break I get distracted and I don’t care. I find keeping it simple WORKS!!
ALSO make sure your to dos are reasonable and attainable or else you won’t want to do them because it will seem overwhelming

2. Set a schedule. Have a set of tasks you do EVERYDAY, it can be super simple like mine or you can have every thing you need to do like hair or skin routine plus chores and homework by the assignment. Mine is much simpler cuz I know I do the same hygiene or meal stuff everyday cuz I always have. And don’t schedule your weekends or leave yourself a break day. A day for you where you don’t have to do anything. I never plan my weekends because I know I will work at least 8 hrs each day and still have my chores when I get home so I don’t plan schoolwork or anything.
Mine has how much time to spend on something so I don’t overworks myself and I know I have enough time to do all of that and my to do list everyday plus work.

3. Act like life is normal. And by this I mean get up at a set time everyday, be dressed within an hour of getting up, put on makeup if you wear makeup, eat breakfast before 11am. Get up and start your day like you have to leave your house. This is SOOO HELPFUL. I struggled to do anything the first week because I wasn’t in the mood. But this, it puts you in the mood your brain will follow its old habits no problem.
4.take care of YOURSELF! No don’t have a spa day at home or whatever just make sure your getting sleep, eating 3 meals a day, drinking more water over juice or pop, if you snack try and pick something healthier if you have the option, etc. This is just as important to being set up to not go crazy in quarantine. ALSO give yourself breaks, set a timer for 20 min and go back to doing what you need to do when the timer goes off.
5. Make sure you have a work space and a personal space! No you don’t need an office, but try not to do your homework in bed or while on the couch, it leads to easy distractions and your brain associating relaxing and homework, which doesn’t work well. If possible do your homework or personal studies at a desk or the dinner table or even just on the floor! PLUS when you stop doing homework in bed you start sleeping better because your brain goes oh this is time to relax I don’t need to do work and BOOM your asleep.
