Through the dark glass D-10

The last arcana we have left to explore is the Cups. The equivalent of hearts this arcana relates to emotions. Shockers I know. Love, sensitivity, helpfulness, sharing, this is the domains of cups. And dealing with strong emotions is going to be the struggle of our next confident.

The reversed tenofcups

The reversed ten of cups is a card that represent relationship struggles, being stuck, conflict, headlong fight and silence. Our character has suffered from a terrible trauma and now they do not know how to move forward. Stuck in their past while also trying to not think of it they do not know the difference between truths and falsehood and are in dire need of help. However will reaching out for help be enough to overcome their struggles?

Honestly out of nowhere but whenever I see your art Im like "woahh.." because our color pics are so different fear I mean it in a good way tho!! Like Your art is so good for the dark fantasy genre, I just think if we both got the assignment to draw smth (for example our favorite character in fantasy gear) we would go totally different directions 🙈🙉

#kingdom hearts dream drop distance #khddd #sora #riku #nightmare's end #mirage split #my gif #i was going to write up a whole thing in the tags about my thoughts on this keyblade #but i just know it'll be an incoherent essay because i can't properly articulate my thoughts #the x-blade must be forged through a clash of light and darkness #but i find it so highly significant that sora and riku can create their own keyblade which is so unheard of #this keyblade isn't created with a clash but rather through harmony and balance #not with conflict but with understanding and connection and love #and i always felt as though that's how the x-blade SHOULD be forged. that master xehanort went about it all wrong #because balance and connections are such important themes in these games #it has two handles and looks so regal when combined. all of the shapes feel reminiscent of the x-blade too #it shines so brilliantly with both sora and riku's symbols. the heart and crown which is the iconic logo for the entire series #also the way stained glass is always used to represent hearts. it's so significant!#and yeah the paupu fruit keychain is its own thing to unpack #okay so i ended up writing something anyway but there's still so much more #i just really hope we get to see more of this in future games because it would be shocking if it was nothing more than a cool combo attack

#do you ever think about the way thinks die? i dont mean bodies. i mean the idea of things.#when a building was a place where people went and worked. somwtimes thousands of them. and then the people stop coming and the idea of the #the place gradually dies. and people start to forget. the writing on graves wear away until theyre just empty pillars #marking the location of someone that no one remembers. someone whose name will never be spoken again because all of their #impact has been washed away. how an object you poured your whole life into can suddenly become a scrap of technological trash.#how the bodies of a million plants and animals hundreds and millions of years old. compressed into soft smearing #sedimentary rock can be burned away to ash. obstructing the sky over point pleasant where 46 people died in a bridge collapse 10 days before #Christmas and people only remember the mothman. dying towns and dying building and dying ideas. i do this dumb thing all the time where i #declare the death of ideas. sometimes to myself. sometimes out loud. i dont thibk anyone knows im doing it. i just give them a 'so it goes'#bc i read slaughterhouse 5 in high school and couldnt shake the repeated decorations of death. i was going to read a book today. so it goes.#my mom was going to fly out and take care of me when i got my wisdome teeth out. so it goes. that place used to be a glass factory but the #y abandoned it 20 years ago. so it goes. life is a sequence of dying ideas. living by falling through a corpse. and its not that im in #dispair about it. its terrifying and sad that nothing lasts and change is the only constant. and i grieve for the dead things that will #never be known. the things that were born in the dark. were never seen and then died there. but there's something about the process of #living and dying that i find deeply compelling. to watching something spin into life and then sputter out to nothing. and that every other #thing to ever exist is on the same trajectory just at a different timescale. i dunno. theres something beautiful in that. and theres #something beautiful in thinking about all the dead and dying things. at least. i think there is...#unrelated

#idk why but I was hit with the vivid image of the puppets holding a music box that guides whoever they're calling to down through the caves #Each song different yet the same for each of them #Behold Bruce's first time to the Dollhouse lol #Idk if it's canon to Phoenix's but honestly I like to think that the first doll Bruce encountered was the one that'd eventually be robin #Since he was a child when he fell down in the well and into the tunnels beneath #batman au #bruce wayne #possessed doll au #possessed puppet au #sketch #art #First time down there it's more cave like but as time goes on it shifts #Some of it from them working on stuff and others on its own #The table getting longer and larger as the family grows even if not there yet #The puppets know when to emerge from the shadows and join the others at the table #I like to think the patriarch puppet is damaged the first time Bruce goes down #maybe mimicking a certain father's wounds before he died but maybe not still debating that #god i love this au #Honestly their eyes are empty like sockets because they don't have the lights or glass yet #just darkness :)

Today we're focusing on the pentacles. Fun fact in french they're called denier which is a type of coin used by the romains and also in middle age France. They address materiality, responsibility, carreers, success and security.

Our character for today is the eightofpentacles.

The eight of pentacle is about commitment, change, awareness, work and learning. This confident is someone that won't be able to look away from what's happening around them anymore. They'll have to face the music but also come to term with the facts that they have a lot to learn still. Wish them luck! They're going to need it.

As usual, the decoding key is hidden in the text.

probably my favorite esoteric piece of Thief media is this "Interview with Garrett" some game magazine did (with garrett's responses actually written by the game's writer), and the interviewer asks why garrett's shoes make so much noise cloppin around when he's trying to be stealthy and garrett's like "these fine leather boots are the most exquisite ive ever seen.... i stole them from a noble and couldn't let them go...... i never take them off....."

the idea of garrett, who despises anything ostentatious and wears clothes so filthy his smell gives him away before his sound does, stealing a pair of shoes so beautiful he refuses to wear anything else ever again, even though they're tapdancing shoes and he sneaks around for a living, still slays me

#you cant really call it canon but what IS canon is Garrett's little quirks and sentiments that he tries to pretend he's better than #he would totally admire a pair of fine crafted boots when no one was looking #alright we canonizing interview with garrett in this house #thief the dark project #thief ii the metal age #although he does have a sense of style #after snapping out of his brooding era in The Dark Project he buys nicer clothes and starts decorating his tenement n stuff #he starts reconnecting with himself awwww #honestly though garrett's subtle development through both Dark Project and Metal Age is one of the high achievements of video game writing #but that's like saying one stained glass window of notre dame is a high achievement of architecture #thief is a juggernaut

Trying to write James and Lily Potter as parents is so funny for me, because partway through I realize that I’ve started writing them like my parents, and I’ll think “wow, girl, you really need to broaden your horizons, there are other types of parents and parenting styles out there,” but then I’ll think about it some more and realize, no, I’m pretty sure my parents are just James and Lily Potter

#my dad has dark hair and glasses my mom has (had) red(ish) hair #they met in high school absolutely hated each other on sight then started dating a year later #broke up and got back together 47 times through high school and college then got married fairly young #(at least it seems young to me)#my dad has an insane amount of dad lore—he was not a bully but WAS a notorious troublemaker #most of his exploits I will not include here because he might kill me but I will mention the time in high school where he filled a #super soaker water gun with crystal pepsi and sprayed down the entire brass section of the marching band and ruined all of their #instruments.#my mom on the other hand is a compassionate rule-follower who was very good at potions (majored in chemistry)#which leaves me: their firstborn with glasses who turned out way more serious than either of them expected as Bearer of the Curse #except my curse is autism *jazz hands*
