The last arcana we have left to explore is the Cups. The equivalent of hearts this arcana relates to emotions. Shockers I know. Love, sensitivity, helpfulness, sharing, this is the domains of cups. And dealing with strong emotions is going to be the struggle of our next confident.

The reversed tenofcups

The reversed ten of cups is a card that represent relationship struggles, being stuck, conflict, headlong fight and silence. Our character has suffered from a terrible trauma and now they do not know how to move forward. Stuck in their past while also trying to not think of it they do not know the difference between truths and falsehood and are in dire need of help. However will reaching out for help be enough to overcome their struggles?

Today we're focusing on the pentacles. Fun fact in french they're called denier which is a type of coin used by the romains and also in middle age France. They address materiality, responsibility, carreers, success and security.

Our character for today is the eightofpentacles.

The eight of pentacle is about commitment, change, awareness, work and learning. This confident is someone that won't be able to look away from what's happening around them anymore. They'll have to face the music but also come to term with the facts that they have a lot to learn still. Wish them luck! They're going to need it.

Despite the same Arcanas being used again and again in each game their representant all differs and are quite unique as characters and as incarnation of their Arcana. Major spoilers for Persona 3 below.

For exemple the Death Arcana representative in Persona 3, Pharos, is a fragment of Death that had been sealed inside of the protagonist. He is a very literal interpretation of the Arcana. However in Persona 4, the Death representative is Hisano Kuroda. A normal human who is struggling with the death of her husband. While Pharos was depicted as a mythical figure, a grim reaper of sorts, Hisano was meant to explore the concept of grief and longevity.

Our next character, the aceofswords, is one of those characters who are vastly different from their previous representative of his Major Arcana. But we'll talk about that once this become relevant to the story.

The Ace of swords tends to be rather sharp (pun intended). It's a card that represent intelligence, justice, determination, action and reflexion. It's a good thing this one is upward too because when reversed the Ace of swords is really bad news; aggressiveness, inertia, obstruction, indecision and warmongering. This would have been pretty bad for Cater to wrangle with so let's be relieved to see that our Ace of swords is such a good and upstanding citizen looking to uphold justice!

Persona will sometimes have multiple characters share the same Arcana. It can be like in Persona 4 where the focus of the strength arcana shift between two characters, or just have two completely different character depending on who you are playing as like in Persona 3 mobile where the Magician Arcana is developped with another character if you're playing as a boy or a girl.

However none of those options are really applicable for a fanfic. So instead for the next social link we'll have two characters assigned simultaneously to the same card. People familiar with Persona 5 may have an inkling to who I'm reffering too.

Today we'll be looking into the twoofswords.

The two of swords isn't a very positive card, even in its upwards position. It represent conflict, being stuck, inertia, doubt and discernment. Our two of swords will have a lot on their hands to figure out. The Two of Swords will be severe towards our protagonist but also rely on them to figure out the truth and their purpose. To what kind of conclusion will they come to ?

Today I'll use the opportunity to talk a little more about the meaning of each numbers in the minor arcana.

FYI I've been using the Tarot de Marseille as a base so what I'm going to explain here doesn't necessarily goes for others tarot.

In the minor arcana you have the four main themes designated by the symbols : Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles. (Respectfully Diamonds, Hearts, Spades and Clover). For each of them, the way the numbers apply to it follows a pattern which goes as such :

Ace : the beginning

Two : associations, links

Three : Trinity, genesis

Four : Realisation

Five : Development

Six : Change

Seven : Success

Eight : Equilibrium

Nine : The summit

Ten : Results

Page : Project, objective

Knight : Implementation

Queen : Property

King : Achievement

The idea, just like for the major arcana, is that each minor arcana goes through a journey, starting as an Ace and ending up as King.

It's one of those Kings we will take a look at today. Our next character is the kingofwands.

Authority, vision, passion, honesty and mediation. Those are the attributes associated to the King of wands. In our story the King of wands is someone who is going to push our two main character to inspire and rally people to help them through their journey. Rather than leading himself he will advise and observe to see if they are able to avoid ruin.

Okay so we got so news about the next JP server update and just so you know it may confirm a sort of headcanon/theory that people had about Cater for a while. I just happen to use that headcanon as premise for the new fic but I had it planned for months. I swear it's a coincidence!

Anyway glad Cater is getting some love.

So for our next confident link, let me introduce you to the eightofswords!

In tarot the cards have an upwards and reversed position who influence the meaning of the card drawn. Most would assume that the upwards are always positive while the reverse is always a negative. However this is far from the truth as demonstrated by the Eight of Swords card.

The swords are linked to logic, bravery, intellect, power and authority. In reversed they represent tyranny, violence, destruction, rivalry and stagnancy. Needless to say we'll see more than one character linked to swords. In the case of the eight of swords however, it's upward signification stick out like a sore thumb within the rest of its arcane. It's a card about doubts, loneliness, of being trapped inside a narrow view of the world. Our Eight of swords will start the story in a position they are not particularly happy about. However, perhaps that a change of perspective will allow them to reverse their situation?

So yes, my next fanfic will be a Twst/Persona 5 Royal crossover. However because I believe that the TWST boys had it too good for too long and that there's already a few fics with the cast of Persona ending up in TWST, I decided to 'reverse' the situation.

Now, my reasons for picking Cater as the main character are simple but slightly sinister. To me, some of his fault reminds me a lot of Adachi and another P5 character that I will not name as some of you haven't played the game. In any cases, this ressemblance makes me believe that Cater was the perfect sacrifice pick to be sent to Tokyo.

Now for those who aren't familiar with Persona let me introduce you to the Social Links system that has become a main features of those games since Persona 3. To put it simply a Persona Game is going to have two main modes : the daily life mode and the dungeon mode. In the daily life, the character is going to school, working, taking part in club activities and hanging out with their social links, or as we call them : Confidents. Meanwhile the dungeon mode plays out like a rpg dungeon.

Furthering relationships with those confidents help you get a better appreciation for the story and obtain various advantages for the game (mostly for the dungeon). Each confident is associated to a tarot card belonging to the major arcana. The MC themselves are associated to a particular arcana, but that will be a topic for another time.

So, since Cater will be interacting with the main cast of P5R, will he have a major arcana associated to him? Well, of course! It's all part of the fun! But not only that, he will have his own set of confidents! Though they will be associated to the minor arcana. And you'll get to discover which one everyday until the official release of the fic in 15 days!

Though I'm still going to make you guys work for it! Why stop being annoying now? ;)

Wands in tarot is the equivalent of Diamonds. Wands represent the domain of experiences, more precisely they are about actions, optimism, vitality, movement and initiative. Reversed, they are about stagnancy, conflict, internal struggles, lack of progress and focus.

The six of wands in reversed might appear when someone is doubting his own ability to succeed. It may also be a sign of a lack of recognition of one's accomplishment and an invite to redefining the word success. Our character for this confident is going to be someone struggling to show to the person closest to them how they have grown. Will they be able to prove themselves despite the danger lurking around unbeknownst to them?

I remember in your soul mate ask regarding about MalleYuu in your FIBIB fanfic and how neither are aware of the color disappearing. If Yuu's color is blue, then the Malleus should be aware about Idia's hair color being grey since they meet up before Malleus first saw Yuu.

Let's just say he had the hood on. Besides, it's Malleus. We all love the guy but come on, we all know he can be quite oblivious. Just look at any Halloween events he takes part in. Is it really that hard to believe he wouldn't notice Idia's hair going from blue to grey? Or simply assuming that he somehow dyed his hair?

Yes, I'm grasping at straws but come on, wouldn't it be funny for him to make an off hand comment about Idia changing his hair color all of the sudden and everyone being super confused about what he meant by it?

Some of them we’re getting really old and it would be a dick move to deny them a chance at revenge just because you’re too big of a chicken.

They cared more about killing that guy than not getting caught for it.

Since almost everyone else was in on it they thought they could get him to run around in circle.

In the end, they got found out by the detective but still got away with it. Because the guy you killed sucked that badly.

Your point would carry more weight if you directed it at the murderers of Evil under the Sun and Peril at End House in which the murderers really should have reconsidered what they were doing. Also applies to Death on the Nile since the main culprits weren’t under a time restriction like the red herring had been.

IDK maybe this is a me thing but if I had planned a revenge murder on a train and then at the last minute a celebrity homicide detective was booked in the last cabin I would simply not go ahead with the murder.

The same thing happened to me but it’s my lip that got the scar! Though it’s near invisible by now! What’s still very visible though but no one notice it’s a scar is a snake bite I got when I was two on my right hand. People thinks they’re just freckles. Scars can be pretty funny.

Being dramatic runs in the family.

For real though, characters always have super badass or tragic backstories for their scars, but irl... it's always dumb stuff.

That actually happened to me. I was napping on the couch below an open window when I was 4 or 5, my cat came in by that window and jumped on my face because she didn't see me, and since my face isn't exactly as great a landing pad as the couch she clawed at it to avoid falling.

Spoiler alert: she still ended up falling like a potato sack and I had one big scar spanning my whole left cheek for years. Now it's been 20 years so it's faded to almost nothing, you wouldn't see the indent unless I pointed it out, and even then you'd have a hard time.

But yeah. What if Leona's scar had the same dumb origin story?

I will also be starting a new multi chapters fic on AO3 that might end up being as long as FIBIB is. I have been working on it for a while and no, it's not the Avatar AU. However instead of telling you straight up what it's about I decided to make things interesting.

Under this, you're going to find a message that was encoded thanks to a Vigenere cipher. For those who do not know what this is, it's the big sister of the Caesar cipher where you move the letters by a few spaces in the alphabet. Except that each letter has been move differently and according to a 'key'. Meaning that unlike a Caesar cipher where A=B and B=C and so on, in a Vigenere A=B and B=D.
