When I started my transition and began to come out to a few more folks than the tiny few that knew about me, there was something I kept saying as a part of my spiel…
“This is what I am, not who I am.”
I think I believed it fully at the time.
But then the interaction in the comic above occurred this past summer and completely changed my mind.  Sure, being trans is something that I just am, but it’s also something that can be part of who I am as well.
Seeing that kid completely light up the way they did sparked in me a desire that I really didn’t think I’d ever have.  Suddenly, that kid made me want to be visible.
Like the comic says, I wasn’t ready to be publicly out so I felt safer lying about myself at the time, but I truly hope that the next time I’m up there they have the opportunity to see me…
…a transgender person who’s included and having fun, just like we all should be.

"Nothing is purely somatic."
by Dr.Harald Wiesendanger– Klartext What the mainstream media is hiding Conventional medicine reaches its limits as long as it views and treats patients as bodies without souls: as biochemical machines that need to be repaired. Psychosomatics leads to a shadowy existence as a marginal field. It wouldn’t have taken much for him to be able to celebrate his 100th birthday with my foundation…

It’s really funny to me that everyone was like “oh wow I didn’t know Yaz’s ptsd was still that bad” upon finding out that she decided to live in a dinosaur free island after spending multiple years constantly chased by dinosaurs. As if she’s the only one they ever even think of or address having it. Like
Kenji-suddenly uprooted his life and left his family to teach rock climbing lessons out of a trailer
Brooklyn-became obsessed with the dark web and started doing shady shit, all while constantly having fall-outs with people and moving from friends house to friends house
Sammy- becomes distant from her family and plasters affirmations and motivational posters on her walls despite being extremely full of self doubt suddenly
Ben- also becomes obsessed with the dark web, looks through explicit dinosaur attack photos casually, drops out of college, thinks every person they meet is out to get them.
Darius- quits his job and moves to a cabin in the middle of nowhere, cutting off contact with his friends and family just so he can focus on somehow tracking down the one dinosaur that killed his friend, all while leaving his dead friend voice mails to tell her about his day all the time as a coping mechanism.

Could you imagine how bad the Campers' survivor's guilt must be? Like sure, a lot of people that were killed on the islands were bad people who frankly deserved it, but they also saw so many innocent people die, ntm I'm sure they saw all the news articles with death counts from Nublar (Death counts that may possibly be lower than what they are due to the fact that we all know they weren't able to retrieve every body).
Yet here they are, six random kids that managed to survive everything against all odds, despite not only dinosaurs but also grown adults wanting them killed on multiple occassions. They all went through things that realistically SHOULD have killed them, I mean, even the fall off the zipine in s1 was a lot. Ben on the monorail, Sammy with the Scorpious, plus everything else was realistically way too much for a group of 6 CHILDREN to survive, yet they somehow did.
But so many people didn't.
So many innocent people, workers, guests, adults, other children, all met their untimely fate simply because they needed a job or they wanted to have a good time with their family, meanwhile these 6 kids, some of which didn't even WANT to be there, somehow made it. They don't know how, or what they did to deserve it that the other's didn't, but they made it.
I dunno, I've just been thinking about that lately.

So, originally when I heard this event was coming up, I wasn't going to say anything about the X-manhunt event. This event is about Xavier and it wasn't likely that Arkady would be involved at all. But then Rogue decided to make this comment in Uncanny X-Men #11:
Tumblr media
So now the gloves are off. And I am once again going to be putting a sharp focus on how the X-men are not acting like heroes and are really failing to actually do their jobs and get rid of the blight that is Greymalkin prison.
As the Raid on Greymalkin event had revealed, the mutant inmates, whose members not only include Omega Red, but also include other characters such as Blob, Siryn, Monet, and Wildchild, are all being tortured and brainwashed into mutant hunting "trustees." In previous posts, I have talked about those effects on the prisoners and how it is affecting those characters all for the worse. In short, all these mutant prisoners do not deserve to be treated as less than human. They should not be forced to say an anti-mutant creed that forces them to think of themselves as monsters. They shouldn't be imprisoned at all.
Every single one of these characters, including Omega Red, have previously been allies with the X-Men. Arkady himself was a member of X-Force during the Krakoa era and was very loyal and dedicated to actually becoming a better person during his days as a member. Given how Rogue has not seen Omega Red since his very first appearance more than 30 years ago, she may not necessarily be aware of the redemption arc he's been on since 2017, but it still seems very forced for her to lump Arkady in with characters who have been shown to be unwilling to change when he himself has shown to have made considerable progress as a character once the X-men started treating him like a person and cured him of his need to kill to live.
This impression of Rogue in current books doesn't get any better once you start reading the X-manhunt crossover. Despite previously going on a Raid of Greymalkin Prison, seeing the conditions of said prison, and getting threatened by Warden Ellis that she had a satellite weapon ready to blow up the X-men's home in Louisiana, Rogue still comes willingly to Greymalkin Prison and willingly works with the warden with no reservations. Instead, she stands in the same room and holds a civil conversation with the warden as if this harpy isn't responsible for the torture of mutants, didn't transform the X-mansion into a concentration camp or threaten to blow up entire towns.
Tumblr media
Rogue should not be meek and accepting of this situation. She should not accept that mutants need to be sent here and tortured. And she shouldn't be acting like this towards Warden Ellis after the threats she's made and the things she's done. But yet Rogue does. She and her entire team are condoning this place by working with Warden Ellis. It's sickening.
Tumblr media
And Rogue is sadly not the only X-men character who seems to think that Greymalkin Prison is necessary. Over in Storm's book, Both Cyclops and Storm seem to similarly accept Greymalkin as something that is either necessary or they can't do anything about. Storm's talk with Charles makes it seem that she is not against imprisonment of mutants, only offering Xavier different accommodations as a prisoner at a different site. Her promise of sanctuary for people in need apparently doesn't extend to people who are actually in need. Storm here doesn't want Xavier's presence to affect her and her standing with the authorities. She never considers if the "arrests" made of the mutant prisoners trapped in Greymalkin are even legal or if they were made in response to an actual crime. Spoiler alert: they weren't. None of the inmates in Greymalkin did anything wrong. All their "arrests" were illegal. And they have all been subject to cruel and unusual punishment while there. A lawyer like Jennifer Walters or Matt Murdock would have a field day if they got a chance to defend even just one of the prisoners of Greymalkin.
Tumblr media
Storm continues to point out statistics that only adds to the bleak situation mutant prisoners face when they are incarcerated. These are not good things to hear with regards to the treatment of mutant prisoners across the board and further show why the X-men should not be putting such blind trust in the system when it is proving time and time again to be a system that's actively harmful to mutants. Instead, like so many times before in this new era, the X-men do nothing to try to address these issues and try to prevent these deaths from happening when mutants attempt to escape prison. They are leaving the most at-risk members of the mutant community to fend for themselves.
Tumblr media
Then there's Cyclops. He shows up here in Storm's book as well to drag Charles back to prison.
Tumblr media
His argument here really screams of appeasement. He's willing to allow certain mutants be thrown to the wolves if it means the rest of the mutants are allowed peace. Just don't ask Scott to actually sacrifice himself or any of his teammates for such a noble cause. No, he'll break those teammates of his out with no hesitation whatsoever. Because his mutants are apparently better than the ones locked up and tortured in Greymalkin. Scott's X-men don't deserve that kind of unethical treatment. But apparently, he thinks that these mutants do. It reeks of double-standards.
Once again, the X-men are not seeing their own kind as people. They don't see what is being done to the prisoners of Greymalkin as wrong. They are all continually failing to protect mutantkind and are hypocritically only protecting their own teammates. Consistent morals have no place in this new era of X-men.
As I've said before, this is not the X-men that I know. These characters are not acting like they should, especially given what they know about Greymalkin prison. The X-men should be marching on that place in anger and razing it to the ground. Not playing around with people's lives and deciding who is worthy of being free and who isn't. They are not being heroes. They are all acting incredibly selfish and short-sighted. Something seriously needs to change in their attitude because, quite frankly, this is appalling behavior by them. They need to do better and do right by all the mutant prisoners.
Tumblr media
Do better X-men. Do better.

sometimes a family can be a repressed lesbian, her step-daughter/lover, & her four half-siblings!!!!!!
the dynamic is absolutely hilarious because aegon and aemond would be the step kids from hell, but rhaenyra would be both their stepmom while still being the half sibling. it's so bizarre and baffling that it just has to end up working out really well

Not sure if this would be amusing or horrifying. But I’m imagining a Trials of Apollo AU where Apollo is sent down to Earth in the same physical form that he was in when he fought Python the first time. Which in my mind, for whatever the reason, makes him appear about 7-8 years old.
Most things end up happening the same but no one takes Apollo seriously because he looks like a second-grader. (However, Apollo doesn’t get beat up by Cade and Mikey, and Diana spends a few minutes cuddling Apollo because that’s HER baby brother and she misses him.) Plus, Cabin Seven has more than one moment where they are holding back hysterics and the urge to wrap their Father up in bubble wrap because Apollo is a tiny fragile mortal who supremely overestimates what he’s capable of doing in child-form (and don’t get him started on talking about their mortal parents, this situation is already too weird). Chiron is also despairing because he already dealt with young Apollo being weirdly paternal once before, and now he has to deal with it again (Dionysus is outwardly laughing but inwardly panicking because he’s seen far too many children die and he knows what Zeus is like when it comes to letting other gods try to help someone he’s decided to punish)
Meg is suffering from cognitive disonnance because she was half-joking when she claimed Apollo’s service and is now stuck with a child-like ex-god who has a bunch of children of his own.
Bonus: Zeus is questioning his life-choices because child!Apollo keeps getting himself almost adopted by random strangers for some reason (and a part of him is furious and intending to strike them all down because Apollo is HIS son, not THEIRS) and this was not the punishment the king of the gods intended for him (and all the other gods are quietly side-eyeing him nervously). Leto is furious because that’s her baby and she wants him safe and not to go fighting that evil snake again (at least he isn’t a four-day old baby this time) but Zeus refuses to listen to her.

Okay, hot take time :
The reason why Luke never canonically did alcohol or drugs on the Princess Andromeda (despite being a 20-something leading an active revolt against the gods with heavy trauma and 0 healthy coping mechanisms) is NOT that he's in a children's book and it would be inappropriate. It's because he's an emotional cuddly drunk. The very second he gets ANYTHING into his system any self restraint concerning his emotion is GONE.
That carefully curated mask to hide his emotions? VANISHED.
He's crying his little eyes out saying the most out-of-pocket shit ever. One second he's musing about Annabeth's childhood stories from when they were on the run and the next he trauma-dumps about his mother.
He's hanging half slumped over Chris with his head on his shoulder. Babbling about how he didn't want to hurt and betray almost everyone he ever knew and loved but he has to because Kronos would otherwise hurt them and him, and he has to take revenge and get justice.
Crack AU where someone, somehow slipped Luke smth during the time in TTC where Annabeth was held captive on the Princess Andromeda. And as a result she just spend half of her time in captivity being hugged by her drunk big brother figure whinning about wanting cuddles and just spilling everything to her.
PJO proceeds to end that book when Annabeth puts her newly acquired insight to use, defeats Kronos in a storm of fury over what he did to her big brother, and sends the entire Titan Army to the therapy they all so desperately need.
