Revisions that I did for the Season 2 Finale opener which was boarded by Jiedi @tio-trile. This moment required great effort as it was so emotionally charged & I had little time to execute it. To me, the s2 finale was a culmination of our team's efforts to build our characters' emotional experiences across two whole seasons so I wanted to do them justice by firing on all cylinders. I often looked back on the team's boards frequently leading up to this episode to gather as much info as possible for S2E10's intense emotional beats. I'd ask myself questions such as: "How is Kenji feeling at this very point - how have the events so far compounded into this very moment? To what degree is he feeling these emotions? How much of these emotions will he act on?" These boards were the result of that.

I made this remix as soon as I got access to the voice recording files for that episode and then proceeded to play it for any crew I came across. Reception was mostly positive, however our supervising producer heard the first few bars and turned to walk away.

JWCT S2 SPOILERS UNDER CUT‼️‼️ (theory time hehhehehe)

I need to talk about this specific scene right here.

“What a useful gadget the laser is; so much more precise than a whistle.”

Are Soyona and The Handler lowkey beefing…like, I know The Handler works for her and shit, but like lowkey, this is giving vibes that they are not too fond of each other 😭 One of my theories is they both trained the atrociraptors together, but clearly have different ways of doing so. And is it just me, but doesnt the way Soyona was controlling Red made that poor ol girl much more robotic? Mind controlled even? (obv not actually mind controlled, but you get my point.) She seemed less RAPTOR like, less animalistic. Meanwhile with The Handler, the raptors act less robotic, more so like animals.

Their different training styles seem to really clash with each other, and basically are complete opposites of each other. The laser pointer; it’s definitely much more precise, and helps with accuracy when choosing a specific target, but other than that, Soyona doesn’t seem to really do much more than that with Red. The whistle; needs to be blown in specific patterns and tones to initiate a specific command, but is seen as much more “organic” in a way, because technically the whistle acts as verbal communication. The raptors seem less mind controlled.

Soyona’s way of training is to turn the raptors into command-obeying ruthless killing machines, meanwhile The Handler trains them on a more emotional and communicative level. She can read their body language, their MINDSSS basically. She can literally hug and caress them (yeah Soyona did put her hand on Red, but you dont see her showering them with genuine love and care like The Handler does, and with the addition of said raptors reciprocating that same amount of love.

I feel like someday, we’ll see them beefing over the raptors.

okay first..

THE NEW OUTFITS OMG??

wait they’re actually so cute tho

I do kinda miss the patterns tho but the colors of the new ones are cuteee

also not all the boys matching w/ the gray jeans

ok since these are all short sleeves (and in Sammy’s case a tank top) I think we can def infer that they are in a much warmer/hotter climate

I’m curious about where they got these outfits tho. was it on the boat? or the new island? I don’t think it could be from like a tourist shop (like in main street in jwcc) since the island is used to contain and make new dinosaurs so huh

ok something else I noticed that a lot of other people did too was this girl

Because obviously who is this?? And how is she important to the nublar 6 and related to the whole Dino issue

also why is she on the island?? (Unless maybe she was also a stowaway on the boat)

aAND she also seems a lot younger compared to the camp fam like maybe a teen/kid

I thought that after seeing the image below due to how I guess small she seems compared to them

this seems to be at the same place as the one where she’s running away from the Dino with Sammy

this site is probably important and they went down there to explore and ran into some dinos

JIEDI!!!! what was ur favorite scene to board this season??

So you all know that I love 1. dinosaurs and 2. horror, so I would say that, despite all the hardship (heh…ship...) the ship and its container placements caused me, the scene in which Darius, Lang, and Sullivan were looking for the loose Majungasaurus on the ship in episode 1 was a blast to work on. I referenced a lot of Alien 1979, particularly the scene where Brett was looking for Jonesy the cat. I think it turned out well, because I loved watching the crew getting jumpscared during the animatic screenings and the audience getting jumpscared during the SDCC screening while I go sichos.jpg "Hahaha...yess!!" internally lol

(We named this Gallimimus "Gary" and had a whole backstory that Kenji was really close with him during the time on the ship......)

Another honorable mention would be Yaz fighting a treeful of dimorphodons in episode 7. Again, dino horror stuff I love haha

DO YOU GUYS SEE THAT???? AND THAT HUG!!!??? THAT YAZ AND KENJI HUG FROM BEHIND???? DUDE, THEY HAVEN'T EVEN HAD A PROPER FULL ON HUG YET, AND THEN THIS HAPPENS???? They have hugged before, but only with more people. Like a group hug, or that one when Yaz was like "It's so good to see you!" to Kenji, and she and Sammy hugged him. But they've never hugged alone. AND NOW WE ARE GETTING THIS??? I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND HOW HAPPY I AM RIGHT NOW! AND HOW INCREDIBLY EXITED I AM!!!
