So, after all, Henry is leaving the Witcher after season 3 🥺 ...😔 and Geralt is gonna be played by Liam Hemsworth 😳... 😔 ...

I am actually one of the folks who believed that Nicola was in a relationship with E. I think they started going out in Mar 2023, became official just after Big Mood finished filming (April/May 2023) but ended things around February 2024 just before Bridgerton world tour started. The two of them were very flirty in their IG posts but later (especially Eamon) deleted most of their comments (and cut down on liking her IG posts) when people started noticing their interactions. He was very much in her friend group, and they hang out a lot with the Big Mood cast but I know that not only was he in the small dinner celebration for Nic’s bday this year, he also travelled with her and Camila when she went to New York in Jan 2024 for Bridgerton PR meetings. I think they broke up because they will be very busy and won’t have time for the other (Eamon started filming season 4 of the Witcher in April and was travelling location shoots).

This is why I think some people noted a different behaviour (i.e., mostly friendly, not unhinged flirty) between the N&L in Jan/Feb interviews before the world tour. Around this time as well (maybe before Australia), N posted one of her cryptic songs and the photo was from Big Mood – sad songs for sad people (forgot what the song is, I think Naked in Manhattan).

Sidebar 1: I know folks love the reunited TSOT pic of L&N, but I believe she was with E at the time. I didn't really consider she was with him until RN premiere but the 1st time I saw the tsot pic, my immediate thought was one or both of them is in a relationship (because both their hands are closed fists). I also thought NE relationship is partly what sent L to Raya and his HFBS. (So Colin-coded again. He didn't get attention from his Pen, so he slept around and travelled a lot 🫢)

Sidebar 2: I found it funny when L, in one of the interviews (I think it was actually Instyle), mentioned something about wanting to do roles that will require him to learn a new skill like sword fighting because he really liked the regimented training he underwent to prepare for S3. It reminded me of Eamon’s first IG post which was a rehearsal for one of the Witcher fight scenes.

TLDR: I'm nervous that E is in the vicinity again. He's a strong contender, very mature, funny, comes out well-spoken and earnest in interviews (like N), doesn't take himself too seriously, and he's clearly a talented actor based on his portfolio. BUT, I'm sat at the chef's table in the restaurant and I want NL endgame.

Batman: Caped Crusader Villains

A cast announcement video revealed Linklater's Batman voice and the Dark Knight's rogue's gallery: The Penguin, Catwoman, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, the pyromaniac Firebug, Natalia Knight (in the comics, a reformed career criminal with photosensitive skin known as Nocturna, the mistress of the night), the phantom criminal called Gentleman Ghost, and Clayface (the Golden Age Clayface of the 1940s was Basil Karlo, a once-famous character actor and makeup expert turned costumed killer). Caped Crusader reimagines Dr. Harleen Quinzel as Asian American — and Bruce Wayne's psychologist. Batman – A cold, remorseless avenger of evil, seemingly more machine than man. Forged in the fire of tragedy, every fiber of his being is dedicated to the eradication of crime. Commissioner Jim Gordon – Former beat cop close to retirement, Gordon was hired to play along with the corrupt system and run out the clock till he can draw a pension. But they've sorely underestimated Jim Gordon. His unassailable character brings him into conflict with dirty cops and crooked politicians, alike. Not to mention, he has to reckon with a deranged vigilante beating up Gotham's criminals.

Clayface – Thanks to his "unique" facial features, screen actor Basil Karlo has been forever typecast as a B-movie heavy. Frustrated by the limitations his appearance put on both his career and personal life (he fell hopelessly in love with his co-star), Karlo turned to an experimental serum that promised to change his face. However, not only does this serum ultimately disfigure his face, but it ruptures the last of his sanity – creating the tragic, vengeance seeking villain, Clayface.

3. Self Control (1,149 words; fluff and smut)- Dr. Tissaia de Vries has legendary self control. Unless Yennefer of Vengerberg is in the room.

4. Come to my Office, Please (3,123 words; Eventual smut)-A private message gets sent to the entire group and puts a series of events into action.

5. Stars Fell on Aretuza (1,210 words; hurt/comfort)-It's the first Ascension Ball since the Thanedd Coup, and the first in decades not coordinated by Tissaia de Vries.

6. You Mistake the Stars (31,647 words; whump)- Yennefer saw Vilgefortz as a way to get off of the pig farm, but ended up in a worse situation. When she casts an errant portal and ends up on the Isle of Thanedd, she meets a cast of characters that will change her life.

10. And I Swear My Breath Turned Silver the Day Your Hair Did (4,942 words; angst with a happy ending)-I've never really written a real fix it for the Thanedd Coup before. I pretty much just ignore it by writing modern AUs or insinuate that everything turned out ok.

This is a somewhat canon compliant (until it's not) fix it for the Thanedd Coup fall out. I've had it in progress for a while and seem to be having trouble working on my other fic until this one is done.

11. What’s Lost is not Lost…Keep Looking! (1,380 words; crack fic)-Ciri's beloved stuffy is missing. Tissaia and Yen are ready to go all Liam Neeson from Taken, but the answer may be closer than they think.

12. Now the Air I Tasted and Breathed (Has Taken a Turn) (WIP; angst with a happy ending)-Ok, so....remember the musical episode of Grey's Anatomy (Song beneath the song)? Um...this is the Witcher version of that. Kind of, though (in my imagination) the characters aren't singing, it's just a montage of scenes with the song playing. If you aren't familiar with Black by Pearl Jam, listening is a good pre-reading activity. :)

13. How did we get THIS way? (3,933 words; crack treated seriously) - An alternate version of Rinde if Tissaia had shown up a bit later. OR...Tissaia de Vries accidentally crashes an orgy.

14. Nothing Sweeter Than a Bitter Cup of Coffee (13,681 words; light angst and crack)-More coffee shop shenanigans ensue when Rita shares some news with Tissaia.

15. More Indelible than Ink (WIP, fluff)- Tissaia is the proprietor of deVries Ink and Paper Shop and leads a very quiet, normal life...that is until a stunning raven-haired tattoo artist walks into her store.

Sabrina/Triss centric

1. The Kids are Alright (5,399 words; mutual pining)-Sabrina breaks her arm badly teaching novices non-magical self defense. Rita and Triss help her and Triss uses her chaos. The healer becomes the patient and Rita is sick of their shit.

2. Downtime (1,034 words, PWP?)- Sabrina's office has a network downtime and she needs something (or someone) to do.

3. What We Lost at Sodden (8,858 words; hurt/comfort)- This is another Sodden Hill story with a focus on Sabrina and Rita's experiences. I feel like Sabrina was too OK, too soon after Sodden, and I would love to have seen more of Rita's experience being charged with holding down the fort, knowing her friends were fighting for, and losing their lives.

4. The Things I Regret (2,036 words; hurt/comfort)- Written on the the one year anniversary of my mom's death. We had a very complicated relationship and I've been surprised at how I've felt since she died, vs. how I thought I would feel. I also had lunch recently with a friend who has gone no-contact with her mother due to her refusal to acknowledge her childhood trauma. These human experiences are always so interesting to me...if a bit painful. So, why not write about it? 😁

So, once again poor Sabrina gets to be a stand in for therapy. I mainly chose her because of her conduit moment, we know she has some issues there. 😁

5. Put Out the Fire in Your Head and Lay With Me Tonight (2,226 words; fluff and smut)-Sabrina is exhausted and stressed. Triss helps her relax. This is all fluff with a little bit of smut and nearly no plot. Just like I like to write. 😈😍

6. Burnout (10,501 words; hurt/comfort)-Sabrina is burnt out and coping as only Sabrina can, which is to say, not at all.

7. Aretuza (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair) (1,465 words; tooth rotting fluff)- This is a snapshot of an Aretuza where they all live happily ever after, even if the novices are a bit ...incapable.

8. The world was on fire (and no one could save me but you) (22,760 words; angst with a happy ending)-IMO, this is the angstiest thing I've written, so be warned. None of the major characters die (I could never) but there is some death.

9. The 14th on the Hill (8,985 words; angst with a happy ending)-Another spin on Sodden, but this one pulls from book lore as well as Netflix lore and HCs.

Group shenanigans

1. Icks (1,116 words; crack fic)-Tissaia learns a new term. Everyone shares an ick in their relationship.

2. Triss’s Greenhouse (429 words; crack fic) -Tissaia needs to relax and Triss has something for that.

3. Beige Flags (770 words; crack fic)-Tissaia is slowly learning tik tok. She needs an explanation of beige flags.

4. Another Fic Where Triss is Stoned, but with Pokemon (965 words; crack fic)- This is a crack fic, but based on a real life conversation. No need to take this seriously. :) This is based on a video game called pal world That is essentially a rip off of pokémon... And they have guns.

5. Hanging Around (5,593 words, crack treated seriously)- Ok. I was inadvertently sent on a side quest to tell an important, and very serious story. It is based on the delightful video below which gave me several much needed laughs. This is set in the AUMC universe where Tissaia is a pathologist, Yennefer and Rita work in the hospitals PR department, Triss is a nurse and married to Sabrina, who manages the lab. The slides in question are stained blood and bone marrow which are used to microscopically diagnose blood disorders, such as leukemia. I think that is all the pre-reading needed.🤭

6. After Sodden (29,044 words; modern AU; slow burn?)- Ciri is an environmental activist, but accidentally commits a bit of eco-terrorism. She's now a fugitive and turns to Yennefer for help.This was inspired by a Tumblr prompt...I have taken a LOT of creative liberties here. (Read: I don't follow instructions well).

speculation here, so TWN season 3 was filmed from April 1 2022 to the first week of September and that was with a few Covid shutdowns and one cast member trying to hold up production, season 4 however started filming only two weeks later on April 18th 2024 and yet filming is set to last until last October or November

since there are still 8 episodes does this mean that we will be getting longer episodes?

maybe its to accommodate actors schedules, but according to RI they are probably filming episode 4 around now so about halfway there, considering that Keira`s actor said on a stream recently that the ball episode took a month and a half to film

Halsin - trusting your fears

Part 4

On their way to Baldur's gate, the party came across a tower inhabited by a necromancer who was harassing the nearby village and surrounding territories. People disappeared, others said that they were seen wandering through the misty woods, aimlessly, with tattered clothes and sickly green glowing eyes. The animals were not spared either, the corpses of tame and wild beasts, mutilated and half-grown, were found.

When the heroes clashed with the necromancer, they realized he was more powerful than they thought. After a long and treacherous battle filled with twists and turns and unpleasant tricks, the witcher was pinned in a final grip at the base of his tower. All his minions down, with no chance of escape, the necromancer drew one last spell from his sleeve before he breathed his last.

A flask of dubious contents that he cast a spell on and immediately hurled at the target he had chosen.

It was Halsin. During the fight he had assumed his usual bear form, with one swing of his powerful paws and sharp claws tearing zombies to pieces who, if they had any sense left, would never have come near him at the sound of his mighty roar.

The necromancer's idea was to poison Halsin with his magic and turn him against his comrades, using his unbreakable power against them. The vial hit its target, hitting Halsyn in the face, a cloud of green smoke erupting, which the druid inhaled. The color of his eyes began to change, from the forest brown typical of bears to a hideous glowing green. Halsin realized what was happening to him, fought the effect of the substance, put all his will into it, but gradually began to lose control of his rage.

A berserk Halsin turned his attention to his friends, now exhausted from the battle, wounded, bruised, and drained of magic. Being the most familiar with necromantic magic, Gale immediately understood what was happening and warned the others to stay away, that Halsyn would be very difficult to stop.

"-Gale, there has to be some way to get Halsyn back to himself!" Ross shouted to him- "I trust your knowledge to think of a cure!" They were having a hard time discussing the solution to the problem, very hard ,because Halsin constantly attacked them.

"-Whatever happens, don't hurt him! This is still our Halsin!"-Ross kept calling out to the others. She couldn't imagine that they would have to hurt him to stop him, or worse, take his life. She wouldn't allow it.

"-Of course! I remembered! Do you remember the flask of the strongest anti-intoxication potion that the priest from the temple of Seluna gave us?! It's the best we have, the only one to be exact. There's also magic applied here , but maybe with the elixir and Halsyn's will, it will have an effect!" exclaimed Gale, who had teleported himself to a high terrace of the tower to stay out of Halsyn's claw range-"It's just... There's and bad news. Halsin must swallow the liquid, drink it. And I don't see how we're going to get him to do that. Anyone who comes near will be killed."

A grim thought, but did they have a choice to save their friend?. To save her most precious person. Ross managed to reach into her bag in between her efforts to parry and dodge the druid's swings. This was it, she held in her hand the hope of bringing him back, of bringing him back to her.

"-Cover me as much as you can, distract him. I only need a few moments..."- she instructed the others.

"-What are you up to? Do you want to kill yourself?" Shadowheart yelled at her.

Ross ignored her. Tossing the bow to one side, her hands free, she uncorked the flask and bit down on its narrow neck. She took a deep breath for courage and strength and sprinted towards Halsin with his back to her. She swooped onto his back with the agility of a seasoned ranger, leaping from branch to branch in pursuit of her prey. She clung to his fur, soaked in mud, sweat and blood. Halsin immediately began to thrash about, trying to get her out of there, growling and grunting furiously. Ross didn't let go, clutching the fur with all her might, trying not to spill a single drop of the precious liquid. He moved closer to his neck, she could already see the shiny black nose of the bear. She just had to somehow manage to pour the liquid down his throat without being teared it in the process.

Desperate plans need desperate actions. With one hand she removed her belt, threw it quickly around the druid's neck, tried to pull him so that she would bend his head back and give him the medicine. But desperate actions don't always work.

Their eyes met just before Ross could take the flask from her mouth and pour it into his. Even more anger came over Halsin, he thrashed wildly, so hard that Ross lost her grip on the belt, falling to the ground on her back. Halsin leaned over her without thinking, without recognizing her, and bit her right shoulder with his huge maw full of sharp, powerful teeth. Ross cried out in pain, but she couldn't give in, she couldn't give up now, not on the brink of death. With her left hand she held the bear's muzzle, and with her right, she took the flask and pushed it into Halsin’s mout, until the glass broke and the healing liquid spilled over the druid's tongue. A shard of glass managed to cut Halsin's bottom lip, this enraged him anew, he sunk his teeth even further into Ross's small shoulder, jerked his powerful head and threw it into the air in one motion.

Ross flew a few meters to the side and landed hard on her face in the muddy ground.

They all shouted in unison, fearing the worst. The elixir quickly began to work, the green in Halsin's eyes fighting the gold, the druid magic. Through the mist of the fading necromancer spell, Halsin began to regain his composure. The world began to take on its usual color, the blood red hue receding along the periphery of his vision until it disappeared.

Halsin locked his gaze on Ross, lying helplessly on the ground, covered in blood. He was fully aware of what had happened, he remembered everything. His heart sank, his soul ached, what he had done to his most precious being. He wanted to rush to her, to take her in his arms, but his being seemed to be frozen by the horror of what had happened. He forced himself to walk unsteadily towards Ross, changing his form back to human in motion. The golden glow of druidism ran through his body as the bear form transformed into a human.

The rest of the group had gathered around Ross, she was still conscious, hearing deafeningly as the others called out to her from under the water. With the last of her strength, Ross managed to raise her head towards Halsin, she saw that he was back to himself, saw his worried expression mixed with horror, no trace of the uncontrolled beast was left. So she had succeeded after all! But at what cost?

The world around her began to disappear, the sounds died away altogether, everything began to darken, first at the edges of vision, and finally darkness took over everything. She sank below the surface of unconsciousness.

Halsin was terrified that the worst could happen, and that he was responsible for it. He was willing to do anything to save her. He went towards her, to take her in his arms, to bring her back, but the others pushed him away.

"-No, Halsin, stay back!" Shadowheart stopped him.

"-I …, let me help! I'm on my own now! I'm responsible! I have to be with her!" Halsin answered desperately.

"-You’ve done enough already!"-spat Shadowheart angrily-"I'll take care of her!"

"-Come on, my friend! Let Shadowheart work her magic. It's hard, but it's better to step aside now."- Gale said and patted Halsin encouragingly on the shoulder.

Back at the camp Halsin couldn't find a place. The otherwise calm archdruid, a pillar of self-control and wisdom, of caring for others, now felt out of his skin. He marched back and forth, circling, no matter how exhausted he was from the battle, he was unable to calm down, to stop.

After several hours, Shadowheart and Karlach emerged from Ross's tent, their hands stained with blood, their faces haggard.

As soon as he saw them, Halsin moved towards them impatiently, waiting for news.

"-She lost a lot of blood. Really, a lot! And the wounds... the bite, it's really brutal!"- Shadowheart informed him-"But you know that well!"

"-Oh, come on Shadowheart! Don't be so cruel!"- Carlach interjected.

They discussed Ross' condition. The wounds were serious, and healing magic was unable to immediately and completely heal her. It would take time to recover and care would be needed.

Halsin tried to swallow the urge to burst into the tent and wrap Ross in his arms. His face was consumed with worry, his heart stuck in his throat, and his soul curled up in the corner of his mind. He tried to regain his composure, so he could think more clearly, find the best cures to help Ross, do his best.

He was determined not to leave the tent, to be always available, to avenge what he had done, to do everything he could for her.

ACOTAR TV NEWS

I encourage yall to take this with a grain of salt. According to Deuxmoi, which is a celebrity gossip podcast, they heard some ACOTAR news. I don't listen to this podcast apparently theyre know for not just gossip but having it accurate. This news could be correct.

Deuxmoi heard from someone who has a friend at Hulu that said up to episode 4 has been written. There is no cast yet. They are expected to start filming late this year/early next year. Budget has reportedly been cut in half. Someone else said the show runner is being a nightmare to work with. That they won't let the show writers to write or turn in drafts for the script.

They go on to criticize sjm of this behavior because these people know what they're doing and even though they understand her being defensive she's working with a group of writers and it's now a team sport.

And no??

This is her world. Her characters that mean the world to her. Look at how many adaptations have sucked because either the writer wasn't involved at all or was but the writing team took over and the original writer was there for creative control. Henry left the Witcher cause they're not sticking to the story. Game of Thrones ended in such a disaster people refuse to acknowledge the final season. PJO, Shadow Hunters, Divergent, Breaking Dawn, etc. Hell even Bridgerton is on the line with Julia basically only there for making sure things are period accurate.

I was extremely weary about an Acotar show. But if SJM is being this much of a terror to make sure the fandom. The book fandom who have loved it for years gets the show of dreams (pun intended). Then, I am fully excited. Go off Queen! Stand your ground, channel your Aelin/Nesta energy and don't let those show writers win. I wonder if this is what happened to TOG show all those years ago

I have a new fear: what if Henry Cavill leaving the Witcher bc of bad writing was in reference to Season 3 and not Season 2 as we all assumed. What if it gets worse than Season 2…

Then it gets worse? But this is not a twn critical blog.

I'm not here to fret about things that may or may not happen. I loved the first two seasons. I think the cast is phenomenal, and the casting team has proven to be highly talented. I trust them to do well.

Henry leaving is something that has been over analysed to death. So I don't wish to speculate any further.

As a drama student and lifelong theatre nerd, I'm honestly excited to see how a different actor approaches the role. What new things can he find from the character, how will it affect the dynamic between Yen, Ciri, Geralt, and the rest. Will he manage to adopt some of Henry's mannerisms? Or will we see a brand new version of a beloved character. That, to me, is something to celebrate. Acting is an art. It's a craft. We will experience something totally new in season 4. It might not be to everyone's tastes, but my god give the man a chance.

If you don't like the writing, I suggest you send anons to blogs that seem to share your opinions, that is if you can't keep them to yourself. This is a hobby. Something I enjoy. Why would I waste time spreading hate and negativity?
