I don’t know if you’ve been following the news, but there are currently agreements for a ceasefire. This is the best news the people of Gaza could hear in the past 15 months.. Finally, the war will stop, and there’s no more killing or destruction.

But I don’t know where they’ll go from here. Islam, has lost everything. His entire house has been reduced to rubble and dust. His work is gone. A year and a half of his life have been wiped away.

His mother is battling cancer and needs treatment, but there are no hospitals in Gaza, no medication, and they don’t even have the money to leave Gaza for treatment.

The war might be ending, but there’s a different kind of suffering the people of Gaza are enduring, a suffering that won’t end unless we all come together to help them.

haven’t posted art in uhhhhh A WHILE…. but i’ve been binging the mighty nein campaign now that im done uni. so here’s a cunty little essek sketch bc i love him.

Rafah crossing will open tomorrow to allow patients and the wounded to receive medical treatment. Finally, a chance for those in need of urgent care, but not everyone has an easy way out.

Islam has been asking for help since the beginning of the war. He and his family have been living in a tent, enduring the freezing cold of winter and the unbearable heat of summer, with barely any aid reaching them. Imagine surviving for months without a roof over your head, without enough food, without a job or any source of income.

And now, things have gotten even worse.. His mother has cancer. They don’t have access to proper medical care. No hospital. No treatment. And he has no money to even try to save her.

If there was ever a time to donate, it’s now. Every dollar, every contribution makes a difference. Help Islam save his mother.

The idea that uni protesters are "elitist ivy-league rich kids larping as revolutionaries" on Twitter and Reddit and even here is so fucking funny to me if you actually know anything about the student bodies at these unis. Take it from someone who's going to one of the biggest private unis in the US, 80% of the peers I know are either from the suburbs or an apartment somewhere in America, children of immigrants, or here on a student visa. I've heard about one-percenter students, but I've never met one in person. Like, don't get me wrong, the institution as a whole is still very privileged and white. I've talked with friends and classmates about feeling weird or dissonant being here and coming from such a different background. But in my art program, I see BIPOC, disabled, queer, lower-income students and faculty trying to deconstruct and tear that down and make space every day. So to take a cursory glance at a crowd of student protesters in coalitions that are led by BIPOC & 1st/2nd-gen immigrant students and HQ'd in ethnic housings and student organizations and say, "ah. children of the elite." Get real.

Are you tired 😴 of our news? 🗞️ Has our suffering become just another passing story? For us, this is our life.

We are a family living under the harsh reality of war. My children—Qusai, who is 7 years old; Eileen, who is 5; and Hisham, who is nearly 2—and my husband all share a small tent ⛺️ with me, a space no larger than a single room. In this modest shelter, everything—our kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping area—has to fit, holding our entire lives in just a few square meters.

Sometimes, I wonder if our story has become just another story, another part of the background. But for us, it’s real. My children 🧒 lack clean clothes, enough food, 🥘 and fresh water, 💧 basic needs they deserve like every child. And now, with the biting cold 🥶 of winter ❄️ fast approaching, I find myself fearing for my two-year-old, who has no way to stay warm, no way to shield himself from the coming chill.

For the second year in a row, my children 👧 have not been able to attend school 🏫 . No education, no clear future. As a father, I feel helpless, unable to give them the hope they deserve.

We don’t ask for much. A small gesture, a simple question 🙋 about our well-being, can mean the world to us. Even a little attention🚨 to our story might help us find a way forward. For my children, for our family, we hold out hope that we’re not alone in this struggle.
