The General, Lumalee, eyepatch lad, and whatever those things are!
I saw this movie last weekend and absolutely loved it; it was so much fun, such a delight to see this vibrant world brought to life so beautifully. I had to draw some sketches of my favorite characters! A couple different versions, just ‘cause I thought they looked neat :)

I have bitten the Meta bullet and finally made a Facebook for Prosiect Llyfr Enfys. To be fair I was already on Instagram - but I'm aware that not everyone uses Instagram, Tumblr or Mastodon. So I have made a page which you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556691514316.
It'd be much appreciated if people could share this with anyone who uses Facebook who might be interested in my project and maybe follow if you'd like to keep up with the project there. I'm nervous to share too much on Facebook because I've faced queerphobia directly relating to my project on there in the past, but I'm hopeful people who will find my project useful will be able to stumble across me somehow. Diolch o galon !

Random Greek Deity Facts
- Artemis has been associated with horses in the past.
- Ares has associations with owls.
- There are ancient gravestones with reliefs on them that historians still cannot tell if the art is of Dionysus or Jesus.
- It is common for historians to struggle identifying if a statue is of Artemis or Apollo because they often look so much alike.
- Hephaestus is a god of fire.
- Maia, the Mother of Hermes, was thought to assist in raising both Dionysus and Hephaestus.
- Hypnos is said to live in a massive cave, sleeping with thousands of his sons.
- Rather than blood, Greek gods are said to have something called Ichor running through their veins; no one is quite sure what "Ichor" actually is.
- Both Apollo and Artemis are deities of light; it is not just Apollo. Along with this, it is believed Leto may also be a goddess of light.
- It is commonly believed that the hyacinth flower is not actually the flower Hyacinthus was infamously transformed into; most sources seem to agree that it was likely either an iris or a larkspur.
- At one point in the Dionysiaca, Dionysus wages a war against India. The goddess Rhea is said to have gathered troops for him, and Zeus was said to have been the one to task Dionysus with going to war in order to allow him to join the gods on Mount Olympus.
- Demeter's chariot is pulled by two giant winged serpents; she has literal dragons pulling her around, and no one is talking about it.
- The Python was a child of Gaia, and before Apollo took up the Oracle in Delphi, there was actually an Oracle with Gaia in that location.
- The twins Castor and Pollux, who made up the Gemini constellation, were commonly worshipped throughout ancient Greece under the title of the "Dioscuri" or "Dioskouroi".
- Also regarding the Dioskouroi, the name "Castor" ("Kastor") may translate to "Beaver".
- The famous epithet "Paean" of Apollo was also listed on an ancient Mycenaean tablet that listed the names of separate deities. It is, therefore, possible that Paean was once a separate god who later became associated/merged with both Apollo and his son Ascelpius.
- Besides being an epithet, a Paean was also a type of devotional chant/song that was sung in honor of Apollo. Some ancient sources claim that the event of singing a Paean could actually be quite loud, involving clouds of stomping/banging and movement.
- The masculine version of Hekate's name, "Hekatos", was an epithet for the god Apollo; both names can be translated to "worker from afar".
- The first record of the more "traditional" view of a werewolf comes from the Greek myth about King Lycaon, when Zeus transformed into a wolf for ten years as punishment for tricking the gods into consuming human flesh (yes, you read that right).
- In the myths, Zeus and Hermes have a lovely Father-Son bonding trip of destroying an entire village (except for one home) for not showing either of the disguised gods hospitality as poor travellers.
- Both Apollo and Zeus were seen as gods who purified "blood-guilt" - a condition which was caused by the killing of another person and required immense purification.
- Cerberus is described as a fully sentient being who can communicate as other immensely powerful children of Gaia could, meaning he is akin to the gods in terms of intelligence rather than being like an overgrown dog.
- Hermes is said to be the inventor of offerings, specifically animal sacrifices.
- One origin of the Pegasus was Poseidon and Medusa doing the devil's tango.
- There is a tale that claims Hermes to be the one who granted Aesop his knowledge of fables.
- According to some ancient sources, Cerberus has as many as fifty heads, a mane of snakes, the claws of a lion, and a snake tail.
- Iris was not only the goddess of rainbows but was also the personal messenger of Hera and was prominently featured in The Iliad delivering many messages on behalf of the Olympian gods.
- Eros has been depicted as the child of Aphrodite and Ares, the child of Ouranos and Aphrodite, the child of solely Aphrodite, the child of Poros and Penia, the child of Ouranos and Gaia, the child of Zephyrus and Iris, and a primordial being who simply came into being. So, where did Eros actually come from? Your guess is as good as any.

Part 1
Summary: (Y/n), Evan and Eddie take their kids on a cruise on holiday, and they have a lot of family fun and antics along the way.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Okay, how are we doing this?" Eddie planted his hands down on his hips and looked round the room with raised brows. His eyes flitted between his troop and his partners as he tried to think.
This wasn't going to be easy.
"Everyone pair up, we'll use the buddy system."
"Mummy?" Reaching her hands out, Ava latched herself to (Y/n)'s leg and looked up at her with wide eyes.
All the kids knew what the buddy system was. If they were all going out together as a family or in a big group like they did at the station, they had to pair up. The kids had to pair themselves with one parent so if they all got separated or some of the kids walked too slow or too fast, they were at least with a parent.
(Y/n) wrapped her left arm around Ava and started running her fingers through her hair as she smiled down at her. And her eyes darted around the room when Lois took Eddie's hand and stood at his side while Chris grinned up at Evan and stood beside him.
"Who wants trouble?" Each of them shared a look before Evan ultimately walked over to where Tilly was sat near the door and scooped her up. He would watch Chris and Tilly and keep her out of trouble.
Eddie nodded to himself and slung on his backpack and propped his sunglasses on top of his head. The boat had finally ported on the first island so they were leaving the boat for a day in the sun. Although he was sure if they could the kids would have stayed on the boat all day to be in the pool and watch the evening shows. They were all happy enough on the boat, but they were still excited to go out for a wander.
Eddie looked himself up and down before he grinned down at Lois. The weather was scorching, it was as if the sun had intensified and moved closer so they were all getting fried. He had chosen a very thin, grey sports vest and a pair of cargo pants with enough pockets for when the kids found shells or 'treasure' they wanted to bring back. And he had his trainers rather than his flip flops in case he had to go running with or after the kids.
Lois swung back and forth on his arm while she grinned and waited, bubbling with excitement and rearing to go. She was wearing her rainbow dress and sandals and (Y/n) had done her hair in two plats to keep it from her eyes.
"Baby-" (Y/n) moved near the door and got the pushchair but she planted a hand on her hip and rose a brow when Tilly squealed. The youngest girl shook her head and stomped her feet, her way of telling them she was walking, not going in the pram. "Ava?"
A tender smile lit up Ava's lips and she nodded, grabbing her teddybear from the bed before she rushed forward and clambered into the pram. She was only five and although she was fine walking about, she felt safer in the pushchair. They usually switched between Ava and Tilly in the chair, with at least one girl in the chair it was easier to keep an eye on all the kids.
"If you're walking, you can wear this." Evan crouched down in front of Tilly and found her small Lion backpack. He looped her arms into the straps, buckled it up at her chest and took hold of the plastic lead attached to the bag. He slipped the cuff over his wrist and gave a little tug on the lead.
It was so she would walk with them but they could still have control and stop her running away or veering off the path or going too far. They all knew she was a menace.
"Off we go."
Evan grabbed his cap and settled it over his hair, keeping one hand around Tilly's strap while he held Chris's hand and followed (Y/n) out the cabin. He let his eyes dance up and down her frame while his lips curled into a smile.
She was wearing a loose, plum coloured dress that stopped halfway down her thighs. She had thin spaghetti straps on her shoulders and the dress was low cut down her chest. It was one of the thinnest dresses (Y/n) had. She needed something thin and loose because of the heat.
Evan begrudged wearing a shirt, but he knew he couldn't exactly go out in the street without one or go in shops just wearing his denim blue shorts. Not many places allowed that sort of thing. So he wore one of his gym shirts that felt loose and breathable.
When they reached the end of the corridor and stood in front of the lift, Evan leaned down and scooped Tilly up. He would rather hold her now and let her walk once they were safely off the boat. He had a feeling it was going to be busy trying to get ashore.
The seven of them squeezed into the lift together and Eddie grinned when Lois moved to stand in between his legs. He moved his hands to hold her shoulders while she tilted her head back into his stomach and leaned into him.
"You okay?" Evan moved his hand to rest on (Y/n)'s lower back as they walked out the lift with Tilly in his right arm and Chris clinging to the pram so they all stuck together. They followed out after Eddie and Lois and got in line with everyone else who was on the basement level of the ship, waiting to scan their keycards and walk out onto shore.
"Hm." (Y/n) nodded and pressed a kiss to Evan's shoulder while she folded her arms over the pram and leaned forward against it to prop herself up.
"What's the plan?" Eddie looked over his shoulder while he grabbed the handful of keycards he had in his wallet.
They had a keycard for each child- except for Tilly- so whenever they left the boat, they could scan in and out so the crew knew if anyone was left behind at port. They left the kid's keycards in the room the past three days they had been on board, they only needed one for the adults to scan in and out of the room.
(Y/n) tilted her head back and looked up at Evan. He was the one who had gone through all the excursions with Chris to see what they could do at each port. He was the one who did his homework and found out what was on offer and what they could do, (Y/n) and Eddie let him plan and choose.
"No attractions at this one, tomorrow they have a waterpark… there's a few nature parks and shops here, we can go for a wander."
There weren't many excursions to do at this stop so they hadn't booked any. At the next port tomorrow, there was a bus that would take them to a waterpark which was perfect for all of them. And other days they could take tours round the valleys and see where some movies were filmed.
But today could be a slow day for them, they could take their time and just wander around and have a look at different shops and see if there were parks nearby.
"Sounds good."
Eddie kept one hand on Lois's shoulder and held out the keycards for him, Lois, Chris and Ava while (Y/n) and Evan got theirs out ready. Once they were all scanned through, Eddie flipped down his sunglasses and led the way with Lois down the small bridge onto the quay side.
He moved to the left, keeping hold of Lois while he stretched his right arm out and looped it over (Y/n)'s shoulders. He could feel a grin spreading across his face when he watched Evan take a map from one of the locals who was handing them out to everyone.
"Alright, stay close and no running. If we get lost, we blame your dad." He stuck his tongue out at Evan who frowned and huffed.
"We won't get lost."
Evan could read a map. He had never gotten them lost before, and it would be pretty hard to lose a cruise ship of that magnitude. He bet they could walk miles into the town centre and still see the quayside.
Once they were away from the docks and on a main street, Evan leaned down and set Tilly down on her feet. He kept the band strapped tight around his wrist so she could only walk a few paces in front of him. She kept up pace with the pushchair and grinned when (Y/n) handed her a bottle of juice to keep her occupied and keep her fluids up.
"Alright troop, let's go."
***
A groan tumbled past Evan's lips as he hung his head down and slumped his elbows onto his thighs. He could feel the sweat trickling down the back of his neck towards his shirt that was already dripping and sticking to him like he had been dunked in the sea. The back of his calves were aching. His skin was blotched red and pink and he was sweating a mixture of suncream and the flavoured water they had all been downing by the gallon.
He whipped his sunhat from his head and fanned it in front of his face that hung down while he sat on the stone wall outside one of the many shops on the street. The wall was almost as burning as Evan was, it felt like he was sat on hot coals.
His brow arched and his lips quirked into a half-smile when Lois sat down on the floor between his legs. She leaned her cheek up against his bare leg and stayed tucked up against the wall so Evan was providing her with some shade.
"Who's bright idea was it to walk everywhere?" Eddie scratched the back of his neck and stretched his back out while he looked down at Evan.
The heat hadn't bothered Eddie as much as it bothered (Y/n) and Evan, although Evan rarely complained about the heat until now. He was fine until they stopped walking, then he suddenly realised how badly his legs ached and how much he was sweating.
Eddie was used to the heat, he would feel the pain later when they got back on the boat and his legs started to ache tonight when they finally stopped walking.
When Evan swatted the back of his leg, Eddie leaned down and swiped the hat from his hand and plonked it on his own head. Covering his hair that was damp and deflated with the heat and moisture in the air.
"Everyone okay?" Eddie looked around their group while they all huddled together near a parade of shops.
Lois was sat with Evan, Chris had seated himself in the empty pushchair while they stopped for a break. Ava was leaning back into Eddie's legs with Tilly stood in front of them since Eddie was how holding onto the lead connected to her backpack. And (Y/n) sat down next to Evan on the wall.
"I think I'm gonna melt." (Y/n) muttered quietly under her breath.
She pressed her left hand down on the wall and leaned back on her arm while her right hand rubbed circles across her stomach. She felt like an ice lolly that was melting in the midday sun. And she knew they were all about ready to make the walk back to the boat.
They had gone round shops, stopped for drinks, gone round a very lovely rainforest park and had looped back round to some more shops. But time was dragging on and everyone was getting restless.
"Are we all up for the walk back? It's not that far from here." Evan looked round their group but he found himself squinting now he didn't have his hat on. He pushed up to his feet, being mindful of Lois, and turned so he was stood in front of Eddie who had his hands on his hips.
Tilting his head to the left, Evan wormed his way beneath his cap Eddie was wearing and stole a kiss from his lips while his hands wormed up to cup Eddie's neck. He could tell Eddie was taken back by the sudden attention and when they parted, Evan slid the glasses off his nose and took them for himself.
He wasn't walking round blind while Eddie had both the cap and the sunglasses. That wouldn't be fair.
He muttered a quiet 'Thank you', swung his backpack on his shoulders and stood in front of (Y/n) with his hands held out towards her.
(Y/n) sighed and closed her eyes for a few seconds before she gathered enough strength to sit up properly again. She let Evan take her hands and slowly pull her to her feet, but she could feel her knees trembling like they were about to buckle and give way.
She leaned forward and pressed her temple into Evan's shoulder for a few seconds while he kissed the top of her head and rubbed circles along her back. If the heat wasn't so sweltering they would all have had a bit more energy, but the heat just seemed to drain them.
After a few seconds, (Y/n) pulled back and jostled her bag higher on her shoulder before she held her hand out for Chris. He climbed out the pushchair and took her hand while Evan took the empty chair and Ava stuffed her hand into the pocket on Evan's shorts. They had switched buddies while they were in the shops and Ava was now attached to Evan.
Whereas Eddie had stayed with Lois and gained Tilly. He thought their youngest would have needed a nap by now but she was still wide awake and rearing to walk.
"Do you want a drink?" Eddie looked over at (Y/n) as she walked beside him while Evan and Ava took the lead since Evan had the roads memorised to get them back to the boat.
"No thanks."
"You haven't drank a lot," He was the one carrying the drink bottles so every now and then, one of the kids would grab Eddie's backpack and yank him to a stop so they could raid him for a drink. But he knew (Y/n) hadn't had as much as he would like considering they had been walking non stop all morning and they were sweating.
"My bladder says different," (Y/n) muttered back with a small smile while she swung her and Chris's hands back and forth between them. They had to keep stopping and checking if stores had toilets in them and most of those times were for (Y/n), not the kids. She wanted to make the walk back without needing another stop or else it would be hard to get herself moving again.
Eddie's eyes drifted ahead to look at Tilly when she squealed. The toddler was stomping her feet as she walked, plodding in her pink sandals that matched the blushing pink shorts and frilly top she wore.
"Papa," Tilly held her arms out in front of her and made a grabbing motion with her hands, but when Evan looked over his shoulder, he wasn't sure what she was after.
"Do you want a drink, baby?" He leaned over and found her bottle from the pushchair and held it down to her.
Tilly gave the ice blue bottle a shake until the juice started to spray out like a fountain and she stomped her feet again. Eddie was sure he heard her murmur 'catch' before she suddenly tossed the bottle down the path and watched it roll.
She set off into a trot, causing Eddie's arm to jolt when she ran but got pulled backwards by the plastic lead attached to her backpack. She gave out a little whine before she moved forward again and grabbed the bottle. Her head turned to the right and she looked over at (Y/n) and Eddie with a grin that started to fade when neither of them smiled.
"Don't throw it." (Y/n) warned but she rolled her eyes when Tilly blankly ignored her and tossed the bottle.
"Ow! Papa, she hit me." Ava pushed up into Evan's side, a deep frown setting across her face as she looked up at him. The bottle whacked her in the arm. It hadn't been hard enough to bruise or really hurt her, but it was enough to jolt her arm and cause a slight throb.
"Tilly that's naughty. You can go in the pram now."
Everyone stopped walking so Evan could reach over and scoop her up. Eddie let go of the strap so Evan could turn around and sit Tilly down in the pushchair. He buckled her in, despite the way she whined and wriggled and when she bashed her foot into Evan's knee, he held both her feet in one hand and pointed at her.
"No."
Tears bubbled up in her eyes at Evan's stern voice and the look he gave her before he let go and stood up to push the chair again.
Tilting her head to the right, (Y/n) leaned against Eddie's bicep while Chris continued to swing her left hand back and forth. She felt like she needed a power nap to reenergise herself and gather her senses. If the kids wanted to go back in the pool, (Y/n) would gladly sleep on a deck chair while they had a swim.
She couldn't resist from leaning a little further into Eddie and he gladly curved his arm around her waist and tucked her into his side. While he looked down at Lois when she tugged on his hand.
"Can we do the quiz when we get back, daddy?" There were lots of quizzes on throughout the day. Some were small ones in the morning, others were adult ones in the evening. But Lois had looked at the cruise ship leaflet and it said there would be a movie quiz this afternoon in one of the lounge rooms.
"Sure, is there a prize for this one?"
"A gift bag, I think."
"We'll need your dad to win it for us, then. I think mum's gonna be asleep when we get back." Eddie grinned when (Y/n) gave his arm a squeeze, but she didn't object.
All the kids knew if they were doing their homework, Evan was the parent to go to. He was great at math and he had a lot of random facts and knowledge stored away which won them a lot of quizzes back home. They would need Evan to do the quiz with them if they wanted to win, and Eddie loved to see Evan light up when he got the answers right and see how bashful he was whenever they won.
"When are you two going in the casino?" (Y/n) tried to keep her eyes open but it was hard when all she wanted to do was sit down or go to sleep.
She looked between her boys with a grin and she loved the smirk that formed on Evan's lips when he glanced over his shoulder at them. There was a casino on the lower level of the boat that neither of the boys had checked out yet. They knew once Evan got in there and started playing, security would keep an eye on him to make sure he wasn't cheating. His advantage in math made him a newfound whiz in the casino.
"We might give it a try tonight, see how much we can win." Evan winked before he looked back ahead and steered them down the next road on their left.
He smiled when Ava started to point and exclaim 'it's the boat!' while she clung to the pushchair. She wanted to run ahead but she knew better. They had all been told they couldn't run here because none of them knew where they were and they couldn't run once they got on the quay side because they would be near water.
"Can I watch?" Chris leaned around (Y/n) to look over at Eddie who shook his head.
"Sorry bud, you need to be twenty-one to get inside. I'll take a video when your dad wins us a fortune."
"You can pick us a show to go and watch." (Y/n) kissed the top of Chris's head and gave his hand a squeeze. The kids could pick something to do, whether it was sitting in the lounge to watch a show or taking a walk round the boat or just watching a movie in their cabin.
"And I thought you were with me for my good looks." Evan quipped over his shoulder while he leaned forward and snook a glance at Tilly. He smiled happily when he realised she was almost asleep. She was due a nap and she had been walking around all morning, she had tired herself out which is what they needed.
(Y/n) looked to her left when she felt Chris let go of her hand and she watched as he walked a few steps ahead until he was walking beside Evan. They were almost back at the boat now so it didn't matter if they didn't pair up, as long as they all stayed together. And (Y/n) and Eddie were walking slow whereas Chris wanted to walk at Evan's pace.
"Papa… I need the toilet." Ava let go of the pram to give a light tug on Evan's arm. She stared up at him as his smile softened and he looked between her and the boat.
"We're almost there, look. Five minutes, okay?" He wasn't sure if there were any toilets round here at the dock, but they were only a five minute walk to the boat. And there wasn't a queue so once they were on board, Evan could guide her straight to the nearest bathroom.
She nodded and settled for looping both hands around his arm as they carried on walking.
A sigh passed through (Y/n)'s lips and she couldn't refrain from closing her eyes. Just for a few seconds as they all headed down the quay side towards the boat. Her face nuzzled into Eddie's chest and she moved her hand to rub up and down his back.
But when she opened her eyes, a jolt ran down her spine when she realised her vision was starting to blur.
It felt like her legs were made of cement that was starting to set. The further they walked, the less her legs wanted to go until she was practically shuffling her feet. All her concentration shifted to keeping her legs moving; they just needed to get back on the boat. Back to the air con and the cold drinks and somewhere they could sit down, then they would all feel better.
"Babe…" She wasn't sure what she was trying to say, but she didn't have the will or the energy to keep talking.
"Yeah?"
Eddie looked to the left but his eyes widened and he yanked his hand free from Lois's tight grip when (Y/n) stumbled.
His left hand fisted in her dress near her hip to try and stop her when she went limp and lolled forwards. And his right arm sped out and bolted around her chest just as her feet bent and her knees scraped the floor. He bit his lip when he felt (Y/n)'s head bash into his shoulder and he tried to get his legs to work so he could manoeuvre in front of her.
"Babe! Babe, watch the kids."
Eddie let go of (Y/n)'s dress and adjusted his arms so he was holding her up against his chest a bit better. Before he slowly went down on his knees and eased (Y/n) down with him so she was slumped down on him.
"Oh fuck- Lois come here please baby." Reaching out, Evan took Lois's hand and pulled her across to him and stood her next to Ava. He moved the pushchair towards the wall on their right and ushered the kids to stand next to it to they were only three feet away from (Y/n) and Eddie.
Sinking back on his heels, Eddie gently turned (Y/n) around in his arms and parted his knees to the sides so she was laid between his legs. Her back slouched against his chest and he leaned her head back on his shoulder while his hand moved to hold her chin, with his fingers pressed against her neck.
"Baby… baby, come on." Her pulse was lower than he expected, but then again, Eddie thought with the heat she would have a raging pulse. And she wasn't in the danger zone which was a relief.
He pressed the back of his hand against her temple, she felt flushed but she didn't have a fever which was good.
His head tilted back and looked up when he felt someone behind him and his frown softened when he realised it was Evan. He felt Evan kiss his temple before he rummaged around in Eddie's backpack and found a bottle of water.
"Tell me this is just the heat." He almost pleaded while he placed the water bottle down beside Eddie's thigh.
"Yeah, I think so."
Reaching down, Eddie gently held (Y/n)'s chin and tilted her head forward before he curled his fingers into a fist and started rubbing his knuckles up and down her sternum. He could feel the relief washing over him when a quiet murmur passed through (Y/n)'s lips and she leaned her head to one side.
"There we go, come on mi amor." Eddie kept hold of her chin and pushed forward so (Y/n) was sitting up.
Both men could see it took a lot of effort for her to open her eyes and she squinted, barely able to focus with the headache she now had and the blinding afternoon sun. Eddie swiped his thumb across (Y/n)'s chin and down the side of her jaw while his other hand rubbed up and down her arm. And Evan crouched down at their side, opening the bottle of water which he held out in front of (Y/n).
"Daddy, is mum okay?" Lois leaned forward but her right hand stayed curled around the pram and she stuck close to Chris. She didn't dare step forward. They had been told to wait here and they knew better than to move about when a situation was going on.
"She's fine, sweetheart, just a bit too hot that's all. Stay there for me just for another minute, okay?"
All three kids nodded along with Eddie's words and Chris moved to stand behind the pram. He slowly started to push it forward and back two paces either way, gently swaying the pram so Tilly stayed asleep. He knew his youngest sister would only panic if she woke up and realised their mum was on the floor and both dads were fussing around her.
"Baby, you gonna try and have a drink for us?" Evan held the water bottle out to (Y/n) when he could see her eyes finally come back into focus.
He watched her take deep breaths but she groaned, pushing the bottle away while she flopped her face into the crook of Eddie's neck. She didn't want a drink. Her head was pounding and her pulse was throbbing under every inch of her skin.
"Please?"
With a sigh, (Y/n) relented. She closed her eyes and took a few small sips before she handed the bottle back to Evan and sat forward. Her hands rubbed up and down her thighs to try and bring some feeling back.
"Do you think you can walk, or do we need to carry you?" There was a hint of teasing in Eddie's voice as he perched his chin on (Y/n)'s shoulder.
"I can walk," (Y/n) would walk. She would hobble if she had to, but she wasn't being carried back on the boat with everyone- and the kids, watching. She would rather stumble along and get back on the boat with the boy's help rather than have one of them carry her back.
"Papa…"
Evan turned his head to the right and looked over at the kids. He smiled softly when he realised Chris was pushing the pram to soothe Tilly while Lois stood beside him. But when his eyes drifted to Ava, he noticed the way she was itching from foot to foot and her lips were pulled down in a deep frown.
"Baby girl, let me get mum up-"
"Papa, I need the toilet! It hurts!" Her eyes flitted between both dads while she crossed one leg over the other and doubled over. She pressed her hands down into her tummy as tears welled up in her eyes. She was only five, waiting to go to the toilet wasn't something Ava could do and she was desperate.
When a quiet "Daddy," whined past her lips and she began to fidget, Eddie sighed and looped his arms around (Y/n)'s waist.
His hands pressed against her stomach and he merged his chest against her back and slowly pushed up from his knees onto his feet. (Y/n) held Evan's hands and let them ease her up between them and when she was up, her hands moved to Evan's shoulders and she leaned forward, pressing her face into his chest.
"Can you take her and Tilly and I'll run ahead with Chris and the girls? I've got all their keycards."
"Yeah, yeah go."
It wouldn't be good for Eddie to run down onto the boat with the pushchair, he would wake Tilly for a start and the pram would slow them down. Whereas if he took the kids with him and left Tilly with Evan, he could get there faster and find the nearest toilet for Ava.
"Come here baby, alright off we go." Eddie leaned down and scooped Ava up, letting her arms coil around his neck so tightly he could barely breathe. Her face tucked into the crook of his neck and she whimpered as Eddie took Lois's hand and she held onto Chris. And the three of them made a quick beeline down towards the boat.
"Are you sure you can make it back?" Evan murmured against the top of (Y/n)'s head while his arm bound around her waist and he slowly guided her over to Tilly.
(Y/n) nodded and smiled softly when Evan moved her round so she was stood behind the pushchair. She curled her hands around the handle and felt like melting when Evan leaned his chest down over her back and attached his lips to the back of her head. He held the pram with her and kept her pinned in front of him as they made a slow walk down towards the boat.
(Y/n) could feel her knees quaking but she forced her legs to move. As soon as they were back on the boat, she could take a nap with Tilly and turn the A/C up in the room to even out her temperature.
As they walked ahead, (Y/n) moved her right hand to hold Evan's hand and she slowly moved his hand from the pram so she could press his palm against her stomach. She felt his lips spread into a grin against the back of her head and his fingers danced up and down her abdomen when they baby started to kick.
"At least she's awake and happy." His elbow pinned into (Y/n)'s waist and he moved his hand round to cradle her stomach as they carried on walking.
He looked down when (Y/n) leaned her head back on his shoulder, looking up at him with a tired yet melting grin that made his heart thunder in his chest.
"You don't know it's a girl."
She felt Evan's hand worm around from her stomach to give her hip a light tap before he went back to cradling her stomach like he was trying to hold the baby for her. He leaned down and grazed his teeth against the base of her neck until (Y/n) was shivering and squirming back against him.
They hadn't found out the gender this time. The three of them wanted it to be a surprise, but the last three times (Y/n) had been pregnant, she'd had girls. Both Eddie and Evan were more than delighted. Chris was their only boy and they were outnumbered with girls; they accepted the fact that they were girl dads now.
"Oh, trust me. We're having a girl."
The Prince in a Gilded Cage
characters: Dark Cacao Cookie, Dark Choco Cookie, Mystic Flour Cookie, Caramel Arrow Cookie Tw: manipulation, warping one's morality, isolation, kidnapping, my shit ass writing (while Mystic Flour Cookie's gender is unknown, I will be using she/her for them for this fic)
Tumblr media
"leave him be, in due time, he shall see that this is for the best." "..." "oh, come now, Dark Cacao Cookie... you do not wish to fail him like you did before... do you?" "...no. I do not." "that is what I thought, in order for your kingdom to prosper, some extremes are necessary to be made... your son may not understand now, but he will, in due time..." .... Dark Cacao had been having more frequent conversations with the Light of Resolution, at least.. that has what the ancient beast Mystic Flour Cookie had been disguising herself as.. the king had been placed under some form of.. possession, his morality and mind warping into a more twisted version of his former self.. "your kingdom is at risk, Dark Cacao Cookie.. listen to me... I shall guide you.." the king began pushing his workers to the brink of exhaustion, applying even more heavy layers of chocolate to the ever growing wall, not only did the king now demand that the wall strengthen in thickness, he demanded it's height to increase. now the wall nearly covered the entire citadel, casting it into a large looming shadow. perimeter checks around the citadel's borders become the regular, with soldiers being forced to track the harsh blizzard ridden territory for the slightest threat. the king also had a new objective, to find his son. the "Light of Resolution" stated the reason behind this as for him to... "make amends" with his lost son, and while Dark Cacao had thought about sending soldiers out for his son, he was hesitant until the Light of Resolution... persuaded him.. "you wish to make things right between the two of you?" "...yes, desperately so..." "hmph... then do it." .... "...father..?" the harsh wind howled through the air, Dark Cacao and his troops had trashed Dark Choco Cookie's camp site, his tent in shambles and belongings scatters throughout the site. the father and son stood and stared at each other, all while Mystic Flour did her work in warping the king's thoughts once more.. "you wish to make things right, correct? then make it right." "yes.. soldiers, restrain my son." "..what..?" Dark Cacao watched as his soldiers tackled his son to the ground, pinning him down without any second thought, all while the "Light of Resolution" whispered into his ear, "soon, you will have the happy family that you desire.." .... sweets, rainbow jellies, books, warm clothes, all the things that Dark Choco could desire, nothing could get the young prince out of his silent brooding state. his room was locked heavily, chains and padlocks covering his door, as to prevent his escape, his father even made sure to lock him up in the highest tower, without a window.. his father would visit him, bring him meals, and trying to get back even a semblance of normality between him and his son.. but Dark Choco talked about nothing than about his release. "father, I-" "it is out of the question, Dark Choco Cookie, you shall not be let out until it is safe for you.." "I am not a child, father, I do not need your protection, it was you who taught me to protect myself, now, you want me to stay here, only to follow your orders like some child..?" "...." his father never replied to his questions, shutting them down whenever he speak up, leaving his heavily guarded room, and locking him all by himself again. .... the cold winter wind howled outside, Dark Choco Cookie could not sleep, he did not wish to sleep.. he had to find out what was wrong with his father, he knew that.. something was wrong... *CLANK!* Dark Choco heard the locks to his room unlock, with a heavy creek of the door opening.. "...Caramel Arrow... Cookie..?" "my prince.. come with me.. I know that the king is not well.. I aim to help aid him.... will you assist me?" "..." ....
Gods, in that au where Macaque struck true, imagine his GUILT when he learns about the first egg. That, in his rage at Wukong and desire to harm the pilgrims, he destroyed what very might as well be his and Wukong's chance at a family.
Because I very much doubt Wukong will allow him to be around this second egg.
Prev. Me and @soniclozdplove do a lot of talking in the Notes.
Macaque learns of the First Egg when enters Diyu. Kṣitigarbha, the Bodhisattva of the dead and unborn, looks at him with a mixture of disappointment and sorrow. Macaque doesn't understand until he sees the egg-shaped mass of soul energy in the god's arms. Silent tears roll down his face as the little soul briefly forms the silhouette of a baby monkey.
He collapses as the realisation hits him like a mountain - Wukong was with child, and Macaque had caused him to miscarry. Macaque weeps and pleads for the Ten Kings to take his soul and spare the unborn in his place, only to receive the curt assurance from the bodhisattva that the little one will be kept safe for until they can reunite with their parent.
Macaque is in such despair at the tragedy he's caused that he fails to notice the chains of a greater force engulf and drag him into the deepest pits of the Underworld - Kṣitigarbha and the Ten Kings themselves left puzzled by what primordial force has taken the spiritual monkey.
Macaque spends half an eternity in pitch darkness, only able to listen to the sounds of the Underworld's waters and the odd gossip of it's inhabitants
Then he hears something truly amazing; the very soul of the child he stole from his mate is to be guided through Naihe Bridge - it is time for them to be reborn! He struggles against his confinement for the first time in over a thousand years - determined to protect the child and reunite with his mate.
Thats when the White Bone Spirit makes her strike. Even though Macaque knows nothing good will come of accepting her offer, he takes the risk - hoping beyond all hope that Wukong may come to forgive him for what he did to their first child.
Macaque does not receive a welcome party when he reaches Flower Fruit Mountain. Fear flashes in Wukong's eyes when he gazes upon his former mate once more - the red sash draped over his swollen belly resembling Macaque's missing scarf. Macaque drops to the ground, kowtowing to his mate about how he had genuinely not known of the First Egg when he had engaged him in battle and how *their* child is soon to reborn as the Second.
Tieshan starts strangling her former-sworn brother before Wukong can respond to Macaque's frenzied sobbing. The rest of Wukong's new found troop are there to witness this sight - the reincarnated Pilgrims horrified when Nezha reveals to them the details of what happened with Wukong's *First* stone egg. The only reason Macaque doesn't reenter Diyu immediately is the appearance of a certain Bodhisattva of Mercy. Guanyin shows their own brand of contempt, but tells them to let the shadow monkey live, sensing that he had returned for not-entirely selfish reasons.
Macaque decides that he must find a way to prove that he's remorseful and wishes to be there for Wukong and the Second/Rainbow Egg. It's pretty difficult to even get close to Wukong to grovel at his feet, his whole adoptive troop ready to tear Macaque apart for his sin.
Ultimately, the only thing Macaque can think of that could bring Wukong or his troop to even consider his apology is something Macaque himself had fought to free him from.
Macaque kneels before Guanyin and begs her to bind him.
Wukong can only blink away tears as he sees the familiar gold Circlet encircle Macaque's brow. Insurance that his former mate can never harm him or his child ever again, at the cost of his divine freedom. Subjecting himself to the same chains he fought to free his King from if it proved just a little bit that he was repentant.
It's a start.
hello!
I've seen your hypnoshades callie stuff alot on my feed, and I just kinda had a question for ya.
if the hypnoshades were, indeed, a metaphor for drug abuse by celebrities...would that not make Octavio an enabler, as he allowed Callie to utilise the hypnoshades (and most likely aided in the creation of them) ??
(this does not make Octavio a totally irredeemable bad person, at least not in my opinion. Perhaps it's the only way he knows that he can help Callie, maybe . It's just something that I've noticed that's never really been brought up in the other stuff that you've written).
Okay.... here's the thing about the hypnoshades. it's pretty obvious that Splatoon 2 in someway was rushed and that includes the story mode. It came out 2 years after Splatoon 1 and it launched with not a lot of content. Unlike something like Octo Expansion or ROTM where there is lots of explanations on things and how things work, in Splatoon 2 there isn't that and it's incredibly rushed. We don't fully know the circumstances of what happened to Callie and how Octavio gave her the shades, all we know is that Callie was like "ok fine I'll hear you out" and joined the Octarians cause of reasons I've said a trillion times lmao.
Octavio for sure did some bad shit let's not kid ourselves. He is the antagonist and he's not gonna be all sunshine and rainbows. In some way yeah he enabled Callie to use the shades and therefore she ended up getting addicted to them. Her rematch dialogue in other languages shows that Callie is attached to the shades and is a bad coping mechanism for her because well... She's still doing the acting gig and it's still hurting her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heck even Marie in the Russian translation says "why are you so attached to those stupid glasses? Callie, those glasses are only getting in your way!"
However this addiction is actually kinda treated like a joke and makes Callie seem more like an idiot and that.... pisses me the fuck off to no end. I get that Splatoon is silly but this is just near character assassination to me tbh.... Especially how the community treated her in that time.... But i digress.
I still don't think that Octavio is some vile monster that abused Callie in some way shape or form. He treated her as best as he could in that scenario, he didn't restrain her, he didn't force her into anything. He let her decorate bases and do other things because it helped boost the morale of the Octarians, hell the Octarians got inspired by her and made music with her vocals and stuff like that.
I truly believe that the hypnoshades are just that, hypnosis shades. Octavio probably made them for Callie so that she's less likely to just suddenly run off, which is still fucking bad mind you. Callie was willing to stay and yet Octavio was like "just in case....." But here's the thing also, hypnosis isn't mind control and you can't brainwash people with them. The term "brainwashing" is only found in the English translation of the Japanese script and so far we don't have retranslation of the original script and I'm not gonna fully trust the English translation. As a Sonic the Hedgehog fan, i know that some English translations can fuck up important details and completely change the tone of the story so easily lol.
Octavio is more of a caring person than he is not. He has been shown that he does care for troops but he's just a little bossy towards them and he has to be because his race is on the brink of collapse. He has to make these quick and bad decisions to save his people. When his people got kidnapped by Mr. Grizz, he immediately went looking for them and wanted to get revenge. And when he finds out Mr. Grizz did it, he drops his hatred for the New Squidbeak Splatoon and helps them out. His people are his top priority.
Tumblr media
Hell if you want the ultimate proof that Octavio isn't the worst person in the world, Callie went with him to the Low Water Party after Octo Expansion, Octavio would not bring a hypnotized Callie that was missing during the events of Splatoon 2 to a fucking rave party, everyone would get his ass lol. So yeah, a Callie not under the influence of any shades went "yeah I'll rave with you!!!!"
She even smiled when Octavio came down to rescue Neo Agent 3 when everyone else was shocked, if that doesn't scream that they are good terms then i don't know what will.
Tumblr media
Sorry if this seemed very rambly, when people talk about Hypno/ Octo Callie in any form i lock THE FUCK IN lol!
Baldwin iv x mermaid reader
I've had this idea in my head for a while and ended up creating a kind of prologue to this story. Any spelling mistakes please forgive me, I used a translator to leave it in English as that is not my language.
Mermaids. Monsters who use their sweet voices to enchant and bewitch men. That's what people thought I was and that's why I was hunted all my life.
Because I was the last mermaid.
And ever since sailors discovered a way of not being affected by the sirens' singing about five years ago, the hunt for mermaids has turned into a veritable genocide.
Their sisters, in an act of desperation at seeing that many of their companions were being used as a mere pleasure to humans, having to use their precious voices to satisfy them, forced me to take a potion that would destroy my vocal cords. So that my most powerful song could no longer be used as a weapon by humans.
Today was my fifteenth birthday, but what did that matter when I was about to lose the life I had fought so hard for?
"We did it, we caught a mermaid!"
The sailors shouted and celebrated with joy as you struggled over the huge fishing net that had caught you.
"It's been five years since anyone managed to catch a mermaid"
"She must be the last of her kind"
"We're going to make a fortune from her!"
With every word the sailors said, your desperation grew. You didn't want to be captured, you didn't want to be killed to become exotic meat or a mere object for men. The only thing you wanted was freedom and the happiness of living a peaceful life, but now nothing could be done.
As soon as the boat reached the shore, you were forced to assume your human form, but your lavender hair and eyes that seemed to reflect a rainbow under the sun made it clear that you were a mermaid, causing countless disgusted looks to be directed at you.
The captain of the ship took you to the French king to sell you for an exorbitant price, but before he even arrived, it turned out that you were mute and couldn't use your songs to heal or captivate anyone. This led to you being sold for a price far below what he wanted.
"You worthless creature!"
The captain threw a glass bowl in your direction and, by reflex, you protected yourself as much as you could with your arms bound in chains.
"One of your few uses is to use your voice as pleasure for men and you can't even do that!"
Tears began to stream down your face. The reason was the humiliation she had suffered and the pain from the cuts on her arms. Luckily, it wasn't long before that horrible man sold you and left, but your troubles had only just begun.
You were locked in a cage and for weeks your routine was to make do with the little food and water you received. The king sometimes brought various people to admire you, but he soon lost interest in you.
Like a mermaid who couldn't sing, you were of little use to him, but then the king received some news.
The King of Jerusalem, Baldwin IV, had won a very important battle at Montgisard. He, a boy of only 16, led the outnumbered Christian forces against Saladin's troops and won the battle.
The King of France decided to give you as a present to this young man, so once again you were chained up in the hold of a ship, where for months your only consolation was to listen to the waves of the sea.
After the exhausting journey, you finally arrived in Jerusalem.
The drier air was hot and made you feel constantly dehydrated, and the language the people there spoke was different from what you knew.
A deep hatred took over your body, and then you met it.
"Are you all right?"
It was the first thing he asked you and even though he knew you wouldn't be able to answer, he hoped to discover your answer just by looking at you. And even when he received only a perplexed look from you, he treated you with tenderness, wrapping you in his own cloak and asking his trusted servants to look after you.
'Why does he treat me so tenderly?'
This question kept running through her mind.
And as time went by, feelings began to blossom in both of you. Small acts became actions of love and the love that existed between the two of us was so great that nothing could stop you from being together.
Not even Baldwin's leprosy, the greed of Guy de Lusignan and Reinaldo de Châtillon or Saladin's army could separate you.
'I'm going to get my voice back, cure Baldwin with the siren's song of healing and help him defeat every enemy that comes along'
That was his thought, that was his determination.
You have caught his optic. Which honestly is the most dangerous thing you have ever had happen to you. There has been. Rumours that have spread from out of the Autobot ranks. But they had been rumours. Right?
Primes don't do that. They. They don't.
Not once did you truly worry though. When would you ever see him? You were one of the few medics that the Decepticon army had left. Most others had defected to the Autobots.
Really. It made sense. They left so they could work in a slightly safer environment where you were less likely to be offed by your patients. Still, even with how long you've been with the Decepticons you find yourself wondering why. Why have you stayed for so long despite the Decepticons going so far out of the ballpark of what they once stood for.
It was becoming less and less often you would find that reason to stay. And at this point you were only finding it in the older mechs. Those who were forced into their casts by the functionists all because they transformed into something other than a silly little microscope.
They were the ones that still fight so they would no longer have to risk their lives on a job that they higher nobles where to afraid to do. They stuck with the original Decepticon ideals so that their future younglings wouldn't have to live the harsh and horrid lives they did.
They are the reason you kept going. Kept doing what you did. They were he reason you still had a flicker of hope for the Decepticons. That Megatron was truly fighting for your peace. That he would lead Cybertronian kind into a new era. One of peace and prosperity in the way they never had before. A life where your frame didn't dictate how and who you would be.
You lost that little ember of hope on a Decepticon battlefield. Every attempt you made to help the others. To heal, to mend. All of it in vain when the bombs began to rain from above.
Again and again you went out dragging in bots and cons alike to some semblance of safety as the bombs screamed in the sky. You were forced to quit when an Autobot. And old and ancient mech stopped you and pulled you into the shelter. It was his rust colored paint that filled your vision as he gave you some sense of solace.
It was with him you grieved the loss of any hope you had left.
All of this. The wrought and ruin of his own troops, supplies, territory. All of it destroyed for a blind assault on the chance he could kill his enemy.
All of it because Megatron was to much of a coward to face Optimus Prime himself.
You did all you could. Tending to the injured. Helping even the Autobots. Or at least all that would allow you to.
It felt like a life cycle for the bombs to quit falling. Longer still for the metal of Cybertron to settle. And longer for the air to become ventable once again.
You did what you could to lead the injured up and out.
A lot of Decepticons turned their back on the cause after that. Most choosing the neutral path. Not willing to chance facing their brothers and sisters. Friends. Lovers.
Some, like you, pledged yourself to the Autobot cause.
It was on that battlefield that you saw him for the first time.
Optimus Prime.
There was a million and one warning bells going off in your helm the closer he came.
"Are you here to fight, or to stay?" His voice rumbled like distant thunder just before a storm of acid rain. This was the same question he had asked every con before you.
"Stay, I suppose." You spoke after a moment. You had long since torn away the Decepticon insignia. You could still feel the distant ache in your sparkchamber.
A botched job for what should have been the greatest moment in your lifecycle.
It meant nothing now.
"I have heard you helped my troops mech. Is this true?" Blue optics looked you up and down then stopped on your own. For the briefest moment you wondered if he could see you. Truly see you. As if the matrix gave him some supernatural ability to pick apart your very spark.
Cybertronians used to worship Primes.
"I did." You answered. "And I will continue to do so. If you allow. Optimus Prime." A grin split his lips when you were done speaking.
"If you are willing then yes.." He trailed off.
"Y/n sir." The Prime tilted his helm. Mouthed your name.
"Y/n." Something about the way he spoke it sent your spark pounding. Your takes turning.
Megatron sounded like that once.
Just before everything went to slag in a hand basket.
.
.
.
That wasn't the last time you saw the Autobot leader. And it certainly wouldn't be the last.
"Y/n! Mech! Pay attention slaggit!" Ratchet's voice was right in your audio receptor. His servos moved with more efficiently than you have ever seen in any mech or femme. It was supernatural, almost, to watch.
The two of you were elbow deep in a mech. The damned frontliner decided to play hero.
You could have sworn you had seen Optimus. There in a window that the assistant has forgotten to close.
.
.
.
"He's damned good. For a con." Ratchet would both praise and poke at you at the same time. "I'm glad he's on our side though."
You were proud with where you were at the moment. You had built a reputation for yourself. Worked in a place that made your skills worth something. You worked with bots that wouldn't have your helm for just venting wrong near them.
You caught a snippets of Ratchets and Ironhides conversation from where you were organizing field kits. Restocking and filing inventory on this had fallen to you after a while.
Well. You were until Optimus came spilling in. Energon flowed freely onto the floor where it really shouldn't have been.
Two mechs carried him in. You were quick to clear a med berth off. Already you were in the process of cleaning when Ratchet began barking orders
Time to show Ironhide those skills Ratchet was bragging about.
.
.
.
Sometime later and what seemed like an obscene amount of energon, Optimus was deemed stable. Currently he was sleeping off the anesthetics.
"Will you keep an optic on him and tell me when he wakes kid?" You looked up from the data pad you were typing on when Ratchet spoke. "I have some reports I need to finish and I need to plan some care for when he wakes up." You waved a servo.
"I've got it Ratchet. Go do what you need to." With a heavy sigh he left. Muttering about Primes being stupid and self sacrificing for no good Primus damned reason.
You went back to restocking field kits. You needed something to do with your servos while you waited for him to wake up.
Which wasn't much longer after you finished. The Prime woke with a start. Bolting upright as he took in where he was. Some part of his processer still stuck out there on the feild.
It was only after he swing his legs over the side of the berth did you walk towards him.
"Prime. You need to stay laying down. If you get up now you could re open the welds me and Ratchet placed." Your voice was low. Soothing. The same voice you have used a thousand times over for Decepticon coming out of general anesthetics. At least this time you were greeted with a look rather that blaster fire.
Really. Megatron should have implemented some sort of psychiatric treatment for his troop.
Optimus said nothing as you walked up to him. Slowly you placed one servo on his shoulder. "I need to check on the welds before I go and get Ratchet. Are you ok with that or do you want me to get him to do it?" You always gave them the option. Some still didn't trust you. Former Decepticon and all.
"You may." The Prime leaned back slightly. His legs spreading further apart as he balanced himself. You said nothing other than giving him a nod before going to check the welds across his abdomen.
The welds looked ok. And they were still holding up despite the fact he decided to spring up off the berth. You took the opportunity to glance at the ones on his arms. Then checking the cabling at his neck that had become undone.
You froze for a moment when he leant forward. Slumping as if suddenly overcome by fatigue. Out of reflex you caught him by the shoulers. Bracing him as he fell forward. Optimus's helm fell on your shoulder. His servo brushing against your hip and thigh.
"Slaggit! Prime are you ok?" You pushed back on him. Righting the blue colored Prime. "Are you dizzy? Any pains that we were not aware of?" You looked over his face plates. Looking for the drain of nanites and fuzzy unfocused optics.
Nothing.
"I am fine. Just." He paused. "Apologies, Y/n. I did not mean to cause concern." There. Again. That same look he gave you on the battlefield sometime ago.
"Are you sure? It is no issue. I can go get Ratchet. He wanted me to get him after you woke anyways." A slight flicker on his face plates. A sort of, annoyance? Then.
"Get him if you must. Ratchet is my CMO for a reason." It wasn't until you pulled away did you realize Optimus's servo had been on your waist that entire time. Only did you know when you pulled away and his digits grazed along the dark grey plating.
.
.
.
You felt like you were going insane. Someone was leaving you gifts. It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the fact it was inside your habsuit on your berth.
They were the things you liked. Sweetened energon candies. A very specific polish you thought you would never find again. There was even a praxian crystal rose at one point. Who would give that away to a former Con you would never know. After the fall of Praxus they had become scarce.
You saw Optimus a few times after he had been discharged from the med bay. He came a few times afterwards to keep the welds in check and to make sure the new cabling in his throat had took.
You had been the one to check on the welds after a while. And to make sure the Prime had proper movement in his left arm. The one that you were now currently holding and moving to ensure fluid movement in the shoulder joint.
There was that look again. Like he was staring into your very soul. You felt that if you bared your spark chamber you would feel less exposed.
"And this? Any pain, aches?" The Prime rumbled out a laugh. Not once had he looked away from you.
"No. Truly, it is fine. You've done a very good job." You could feel your faceplates warm. Not use to any type of praise.
"It was hardly all me. Ratchet did the bulk of it." Optimus humed. Pulling his arm away. His digits brushed against your chassis before they settled in his lap. He flexed his palms and you couldn't help but to look.
Only to sputter a cough before he looked up. Almost getting caught ogling the Primes thighs.
"Still. You have done good. I am grateful to have such a skilled mech on our side. Your skills are valued here, y/n." He spoke your name with an intensity.
The two of you locked optics for a moment. The Prime almost drawing you in. He servo rose and hovered next to yours. You swore he almost would have taken it in his if it weren't for Ratchet calling him to his office.
The look that covered his facelates looked almost murderous. You had stepped back when he did that. And the look had fallen almost as quickly as it had came. Filled with a different, almost fearful look at your reaction.
The Prime rose and left. Giving you one last look before going to meet Ratchet. When you glanced back down to the berth you felt you tanks turned.
There, in the center of the berth, was a singular Praxian rose. The one that twined the other currently beneath your berth.
.
.
.
You said nothing about it to anyone. Instead quickly taking it and placing it within your subspace before Ratchet or any of the other medics or assistants could notice.
When Optimus left he had caught your optic then glanced at the berth the rose had been on. When he noticed it was gone and how quickly you had looked away. He smiled.
That night you had went to your habsuit shaken. Placing the rose with the other things you had been given.
Was. Was Optimus the one doing this? It would make sense seeing as how he would be one of the few with the proper codes to get into your habsuit.
But why? Why you? And was it really you?
You didn't fall into recharge that night. And you were in a daze for the next day cycle. Ratchet having reprimanded you more than once for your forgetfulness.
You nearly dropped the glass vials holding nanites when you saw him in the window looking into the supply closet. Optimus had studied you briefly before leaving.
You didn't move for many klicks. Servos shaking as you tried to calm yourself.
The next few days went the same. Catching Optimus in the corner of your optics every time you turned. It made you jumpy. Skittish. You began to pull away from the bots you had made friends with. Even to Ratchet who seemed to be concerned. But he said nothing. Did nothing other than lay his servo on your shoulder and give you the most sympathetic look you had ever seen.
.
.
.
"Y/n. Prime needs you in his office." You glanced up dumbly to the femme that had called your name. You had been in the rec room watching some old holo vids Toptwist had put on. A chorus of oohs had filled the room. Most of the bots acting like you had just been called to the headmaster's office in the academy.
Instead you swallowed thickly and nodded your helm at the femme.
You're frame is shaking the entire walk down the hall. Your mind was racing.
Did you do something wrong? If so then what? As far as you knew you were doing everything Ratchet needed you to. You didn't cause any problems with the others. No matter how much you wanted to throttle some of them when they wouldn't stop fragging you over just because you used to be a Con.
Is that why? Did some mech of femme complain about you being a former Decepticon?
You didn't want to lose what you had here. To much. It. You had finally found a reason to keep fighting. The Autobots they held up the ideals that the Decepticons used to have.
You don't think you would be able to quit this. Not without some consequence on your mental health. You needed this.
.
You stopped before the door to Optimus Primes office. You didn't know if you should com him or knock on the door. In the end you chose the latter. Fisted servo hovering before the engraved metal door for a klick before you knocked.
Ice flooded your frame. Something. Something spoke to you about this being a bad idea. That you should turn. Run.
Instead you ignored that millennia forged instinct.
"Enter." Optimus's voice sounded from the other side of the door after you knocked. The door sliding open and closing behind you quickly when you stepped inside.
His office was quaint. Small. There were odds and ends decorating shelves. A few organic plants here and there that looked well taken care of. It was such a rare sight to see. The war on Cybertron and rendered all organic life null. Unable to grow in such an hostile enviroment.
There were data pads from floor to roof on one wall. Suddenly you remember that the great Prime was just once a simple archivist in Iacon.
"There's no need to stand near the door, dear Y/n. I promise. You are not in any trouble here." Your helm snaps from the shelves of data pads and towards the Prime sitting at his desk. It was cluttered with data pads and reports. A few trinkets here and there. There was even a floating holo screen of what you assumed was him and a few other bots in one corner.
"I was told you needed me sir?" You strode to the center of the room. Just before the Primes desk. He smiled and shook his helm before rising from his seat.
"Please. There is no need for formalities here. I am just Optimus. " The Prime rounded the side of his desk before leaning against the side of it. Crossing his arms over his chassis.
You swallowed thickly. Finding yourself falling into a parade rest. "I was told you needed me, Optimus?" You repeated the question with his name instead. He gave a small laugh when he looked over at you.
"I meant it when I said there was no need for formalities Y/n. Please." Optimus pushed himself away from the desk as you made an attempt to stand comfortably. It was a little awkward.
Optimus stopped before you by less that a foot. You had to raise you helm to look him in the optics. You were not exactly a small mech but you reached just below the Primes chin.
"But yes. I did want you down here. I wanted to discuss something with you." His servo rose. The palm of his servo hovering just next to your helm before settling firmly on your shoulder. You couldn't help but look to that servo. Then to him as he began talking once again. "I have heard you've done good work here. And i'm proud of the fact that you are." The servo fell then digits hooked just below your chin.
Your spark began pounding in your chest. "I expect you have met my gifts well?" You optics widden and you pull away from those digits.
"That was you?" Your voice rose slightly at the end. At least that was a conformation. Whether or not it set you at ease was debatable to say the least.
"Of course. I'm sorry I couldn't deliver them in person though. I didn't need the others thinking I was playing favorites." His optics looked your faceplates over. His glossa darted out to wet his lips. "I find you to be the most brilliant mech I have had the honour to have in my troops yet. Y/n I have been hung over you since the moment I saw you." His servos cup either side of your helm. The size of them almost engulfing you.
"There is something addicting about you. I have yet to lay my servo on it. But. I wish to have you, if you will." His thumb brushed along your bottom lip. His optics following the movement of his thumb as he did this. "Of course we will have to keep this secret for a while. But I do not mind." His voice was low. Almost rattling in your chassis from how close he was now.
Chassis to chassis. Touching. So close. If the two of you were to slide the metal away. Surely your sparks would touch. The gesture here. Now. It was intimate.
Suffocating.
"Sir we can't. Its." Optimus's face darkened.
"Optimus. Please. Call me Optimus." His servos fell and once reached down to grab yours. He brought it up to his lips and layed a kiss on your scarred knuckles. His optics were on you the entire time. Blown wide with. Attraction? Lust? "And we can. The others will learn to deal with it."
Something pleasurable flooded your field when his wrapped over yours. Your processer fogged and you didn't know what to do. "Optimus I." You stopped when that pleasure flooded over you again. You legs shook and before you knew it you were moving. Your legs hit the desk and one moment you were standing. The next you were sitting. Optimus's servos wrapped around your thighs as he lifted yo up and onto it.
For a moment the fog lifted and you looked up to see a loopy grin on the Primes faceplates.
"Oh you look stunning just like that. I wonder if I could make you make that face again." He was between your legs. His servo traveled from your thigh and over your hip. It sprawled out over your stomach plating and up your chassis. His digits dipped in seems and pulled at wires that had a heat pooling below.
You whimper when his lips finally connecting with yours. Shivers running down your frame as he moves fervently. His servos cradle your helm as he does this. Drawing you in close. You servos find his wrists. You didn't know if you wanted to pull him away or hold him there so he would keep going.
He did leave you those gifts. It. It makes sense that he wouldn't do it in person. Right?
Right?
The two of you pull away with heated breaths. A string of fluid following your lips before breaking apart.
Your faceplates felt hot. Your vents where going rapidly. Trying to cool your heated frame.
Optimus lent in again and again. Laying kiss after kiss until he found your neck. Nibbling and sucking along the cabling there. You shiver and shook at the assault. Your frame reacting pleasantly to what he was doing.
"Such sweet sounds you are making. I wonder if you will sing the same while on my spike." His hips rolled as he said this. His servo landed on top of your interface array. "Please? My Y/n please?" Optimus spoke breathlessly. His helm pressed to yours. Your nose bumping against his as he moved to press another kiss to your lips. "For me? Please?"
And you did. Your array springing open and revealing your spike and valve to the room.
"The. The door. Is it locked?" You asked.
"Mmm? Yes." Optimus told you. His digits fluttering over your valve. A whimper left your lips as he teased you. Digits skimming over your valve. Your aching node to tease your weeping spike. "Look at you. Is all this for me?" He pressed a kiss to your chin.
"Yeah." You spoke. "Yeah. Just for you." A low moan left you when he sunk his digits within you. Digits curling as he pumped them in and out of you. He moved slowly. Gathering the fluid that left you and spreading his digits apart to slowly ease you into taking his spike.
He didn't want to hurt you after all. Not after waiting for so long. And not with you being so nice and willing.
You almost cried when those cleaver digits left you. Only for you to give a shudder when he put those same digits in his mouth. Glossa working around and between his digits tasting everything you had to offer.
"You taste sweeter than I thought you would be Y/n." He humed as his own interface array pulled away. He gave is own spike a few languid strokes before placing it between your shaking legs. "Relax. I will not hurt you." The tip of his spike pressed into you. "Relax my y/n." He guided himself within you. Moving slowly. He briefly pulled back at one point before sliding forward.
Optimus paused when he was fully seated within you. Giving his hips a few experimental rolls as he watched you come completely undone beneath him.
He was absolutely enthralled with the way you threw your helm back when he began to move. He happily complied with your pleas of more. Harder. Just like that.
You were being so good. So kind after all. How was he not to do what you asked when you were doing such a good job. He even told you as much.
"Look at you. Being such a good mech for me. You are taking me so well my y/n." His hips stuttered when he felt you squeeze around him from the praise. "You are taking my spike so good. You pretty valve feels so nice. So good. Gripping my spike so." He paused when he felt pleasure rack through him when you squeezed him once again.
Optimus was sure to note this in the back of his helm for future fragging sessions.
He could feel his overload coming and coming quickly. And if the way your were keening and moaning. Chanting his name so sweetly. Well, he knew yours was close as well.
Optimus rolled his field over yours and watched as you threw your helm back. Static spitting out of your vocalizer as you overloaded and over loaded hard. Your frame falling pliant under his servos.
Optimus found his soon after you. Pulling you close and leaning on your body.
He was sure to bring you into his habsuit. Cleaning your dirtied frame. Optimus took in the welled energon on your neck cabling. The slight paint transfer around your thighs from your coupling.
He'd be damned if he was letting you leave anytime soon.
It's Thought Time again
So I've been rolling over this in various posts and reblogs, and I'm finally going to pin down my thoughts and write them here. Some might call this my 'Aziraphale Defense Post', but that's not accurate.
This is my William James take - meaning, everyone's reality is different due to perspective. What is true to me is not going to be true to you, 100% of the time. However, there is a facet of truth in everything we do believe, because we wholeheartedly believe it. That gives us a rainbow of truths from one opinion, each in their own radiant color.
So here's what I believe to be true. 6000 years ago, Heaven and Hell, on two completely different missions, sent the angel and the demon they found the most annoying to Earth. Not the weakest, not the most problematic (not yet anyways), but the ones they all collectively rolled their eyes at. Crowley was too flash. Aziraphale was too soft.
So God plopped Aziraphale in Eden, told him to protect the humans and not let them eat the apple tree that was sitting right there in front of them. Didn't tell him to put up a fence, or wave the flaming sword at them.
Satan booted Crowley upwards and told him to vaguely, 'start some trouble'. Vaguest of orders, no real direction in them. Crowley could have just thrown rocks at Adam and Eve and it would have counted.
We all know what happened from there. However, instead of Heaven and Hell going, 'Okay we're going to really pin down these orders now, sending more troops, let's get humanity really going' ... they basically left Aziraphale and Crowley alone in the office for 6000 years. Oh, the head offices occasionally pop up. Threaten, in their own unique ways. Mostly though, Crowley and Aziraphale were the only immortal beings on a planet filled with human mayflies.
Human mayflies that nine times out of ten would just set fire to themselves, or show greater compassion than either one of them had ever known.
Crowley and Aziraphale were all alone, except for each other. Even among humans, who they clearly understood more than their superiors -- you had to know they both stuck out. Yeah, think on that. Crowley couldn't have been the only one outcast, with his red hair and his yellow eyes. Aziraphale has the most white-blonde, curly hair in existence. Tag along with blue eyes and fair skin and come on. So at the beginning, they only ever really had each other for safe company. As they moved towards Europe, it got easier to fit in but even then you know people were still giving them the side-eye.
They were both transitory - following where-ever a mission went. Probably a home for maybe ten or so years, but then they'd have to move on again. We talk a lot about how Crowley didn't have a physical home until the creation of the bookshop.
That means neither did Aziraphale.
So what happened? They became home to one another. A touchstone in the centuries that passed. Aziraphale never rejected being approached by Crowley, despite being a demon, and Crowley never held Heaven's stupid missions again Aziraphale, so they kept coming together. Over and over again. Think of Rome. Aziraphale is so happy to see Crowley, and it's only been a few decades. Crowley's mood improves the longer the conversation goes on, letting down his defenses, relaxing enough to smirk.
The Arrangement, thought of by Crowley, agreed to by Aziraphale, despite the dangers they both knew they would face, because at least it meant they could see each other without having to make an excuse or just 'happen to be in the area'. Now they could meet up at theatres or in graveyards. They had to be careful - they always, always had to be careful - or the other one could be hurt.
It is the worst thing that can happen to either one of them, if the other one is hurt, or worse, killed. Remember Aziraphale's face in the graveyard, that look of sheer horror when he realizes Hell has taken Crowley.
Remember Crowley yelling as he runs into a burning bookshop.
The bookshop and the Bentley are theirs, but they can lose those and still go on, as long as they have each other. Maybe it is co-dependent, but honestly who else can they depend on, if not each other? That's why I believe Aziraphale begged Crowley to come with him to Heaven, not because he wanted Crowley to be an angel, but because Crowley would be safe - Aziraphale's Home would be Safe. That's why he says, 'Nothing lasts forever'. No Thing.
Crowley is not a Thing, to Aziraphale. Crowley is Aziraphale's Person. His safe place, and he's Crowley's. They both know it. It's why Aziraphale never wants to run away because he knows he's not fighting for a place called home, he's fighting for Crowley. It's why Crowley walks away and always comes back - not because he's weak but because he knows that being with Aziraphale is what matters. It's what makes life worth living.
Which is what makes the Final Fifteen so heartbreaking because they are both saying the same thing, but they're on different wavelengths. Yet, Yet ... as time has passed and I've been able to look at the Final Fifteen with some space, I see that it's not as hopeless as it seems.
Because Crowley came back. Because Aziraphale looks ready to do what he has to do. I don't think it'll be violence, because they've never solved their problems with violence and I don't think they'll start now. I just know that They're Not Talking is not going to last as long as we think, and that anger and betrayal is not going to be the first thing on their minds when they finally see one another again.
Probably going to be that kiss, though.
This why I could never say I can't forgive Aziraphale for his actions, because he did what he had to do to keep his home, his Crowley safe. I know Crowley knows that, too. How is that all going to shape up - how they're going to find themselves in balance again?
Well. I guess we'll have to wait, and see.
On March 9, 1977, Francine Hughes returned from business college to her Dansville, Michigan, home and put a frozen dinner in the oven for her husband, James. He didn't like it. Francine, he said, should be at home preparing meals for him, not running off to school. He beat her up, as he had done many times before; and to drive home his point he tore up her schoolbooks and term papers and forced her to burn them in the trash barrel. Twelve-year-old Christy Hughes called the police, who came to the house long enough to calm James down but declined, as they had many times before, to arrest him. They left James, tired from beating Francine, asleep in his bedroom. Determined to "just drive away," Francine piled the children into the family car. "Let's not come back this time, Mommy," they said. She carried a gasoline can to the bedroom, poured the contents around the bed where James lay asleep, backed out of the room, and set a match to it The rust of flame sucked the door shut.
Francine Hughes drove immediately to the Ingham County sheriffs office, crying hysterically, "I did it. I did it." She was charged with first-degree murder.
Dansville adjoins East Lansing, home of Michigan State University and consequently of many social-action groups. Within two months feminists and other interested people in the Lansing area had formed the Francine Hughes Defense Committee to raise money and public awareness for her defense. They were careful to say that they neither advocated nor condoned murder, but they held that women confronted with violence have a right to defend themselves. They argued that "Francine Hughes—and many other women facing similar charges—should be free from the threat of punishment," for Francine Hughes was a battered woman.
At the time wife-beating was a growing feminist issue, following close on the heels of feminist attacks upon rape, a crime it resembles in many ways. Both rape and wife-beating are crimes of violence against women. Both are widespread, underreported, trivialized, and inadequately punished by the legal system. Both are acts of terrorism intended to keep all women in their place through intimidation. In fact, rape is often part of wife abuse, though so far only a few states acknowledge even the possibility of rape within marriage. The chief difference between the two crimes is that while the victim of nonmarital rape must live with a terrifying memory, the abused wife lives with her assailant. Rapists are, in Susan Brownmiller's phrase, the "shock troops" of male supremacy. Wife-beaters are the home guard.
American feminists took up the issue of wife-beating when they learned in 1971 of the work of Erin Pizzey, founder of Chiswick Women's Aid, the first shelter house in England exclusively for battered women and their children. Rainbow Retreat, the first American shelter for abused families of alcoholics opened in Phoenix, Arizona, on November 1, 1973; and in St. Paul, Minnesota, Women's Advocates, a collective that began with a phone service in 1972, opened Women's House to battered women and their children in October 1974. Rainbow Retreat, during its first two and a half years, sheltered more than six hundred women and children. In St. Paul the five-bedroom Women's House sheltered twenty-two women and fifteen children during its first month of operation; less than a year later Women's Advocates were negotiating to buy a second house. Across the country the shelter movement spread to Pasadena, San Francisco, Seattle, Boise, Albuquerque, Pittsburgh, Ann Arbor, Boston, New York. To open a shelter was to fill it beyond capacity almost overnight. Suddenly it seemed that battered women were everywhere.
While activists opened shelters, researchers and writers set about documenting the problem of wife-beating or, as it came to be called more euphemistically in the academic literature, "domestic violence." The records showed that 60 percent of night calls in Atlanta concerned domestic disputes. In Fairfax County, Virginia, one of the nation's wealthiest counties, police received 4,073 disturbance calls in 1974. During ten months in 1975-76 the Dade County Florida Citizens Dispute Settlement Center handled nearly 1,000 wife-beating cases. Seventy percent of all assault cases received in the emergency room at hospitals in Boston and Omaha were women who had been attacked in their homes. Eighty percent of divorce cases in Wayne County, Michigan, involved charges of abuse. Ninety-nine percent of female Legal Aid clients in Milwaukee were abused by men.
The FBI guessed that a million women each year—women of every race and social class—would be victims of wife-beating. Journalists Roger Langley and Richard C. Levy put the figure at more than 28 million. Some said that one in four women married to or cohabiting with a man would become a victim; others said one in three. In some areas the incidence seemed even greater. In California the experts said one of every two women would be beaten. And in Omaha, the Mayor's Commission on the Status of Women estimated that 95 percent of women would be abused at some time. There scarcely seemed need of additional evidence, so the same statistics began to turn up in every new account, but repetitious as they were, they showed all too clearly that wife-beating is a social problem of astounding dimensions.
Home to you
Pairing: Aemond Targaryen x you
Summary:  Aemond comes home from battle
Warning:  just fluff
.
Tumblr media
“Where is my wife?  My daughter?”
“Your Highness,” his wife’s maid said, running to keep up with Prince Aemond’s long strides.  “They did not go with the rest of the family.”
Aemond stopped, turned.  “Why not?”
“My lady your wife told Queen Alicent that she knew that you, as Prince Regent and commander of the armies, would be a target, and so would your own family.”  She took a deep breath and continued, “my lady said no one should know where for our safety and theirs, but that you would know for it was where the most precious jewel shows all its colors.”
Aemond knew at once.  “Thank you.”
The maid watched as the prince turned on his heel and rushed back out.  She hoped he would find them and bring them home safe and sound.
* * * * *
“I’m tired, muña.”
You peeked through the tiniest opening in the window coverings.  From the outside it would look like a normal tear in the rough fabric, but from the inside, it gave you the perfect angle to watch the path leading to the small cabin.
Turning to your daughter, you smiled, trying your best to keep the reality of the battle from your expression.  When you had heard the drums of the enemy troops get louder and louder, Queen Alicent had decided the family was to leave, the injured King Aegon smuggled out in a cart, Queen Helaena and her children dressed as servants, their silver hair fully covered.  At the last moment you had told Alicent of your plan, and despite her concern at seeing you leave, she agreed that it was paramount to keep you and your daughter’s whereabouts secret.
“We will see each other again,” you said before you led the horse out the side gate.  Just in case, you had gone out the opposite gate from your actual destination, and went around the great keep until you were on the right path.
You took the little girl in your arms, “shall I sing you a song or tell you a story, my love?”
“Tell me the story of how you and kepa met!”
Ah, her favorite story.
You took her past the partition that separated the living area from the sleeping area, and sat with her on the large chair next to the stack of blankets.
“Once upon a time, there was a young girl who loved to sing.  One day, she was playing with her cousins and some relatives arrived.  She immediately decided that one of them was the most interesting, but the next day there was a fight between the children and he had a terrible injury.”
The little girl covered her left eye and shook her head.
“He was very brave but he was in so much pain, so the girl would sing to him until he could go to sleep.  Then her parents took her home, but she couldn’t stop thinking about that boy.  Soon after, she received a letter from him, saying thank you for all the times she had sung to him.  She wrote him back, and then he wrote back-”
The little girl giggled, moving her hands from one side to the other.”
“That’s right, the letters went back and forth and back and forth, until one day they realized they loved each other.  They each asked their parents to let them get married, and when they were old enough . . . “
“They did!”
“Yes, they did.  And a year later, they had a beautiful girl and their little family was the most precious treasure in the world.  And one time, when the baby girl was sleeping, they realized that there was a rainbow that landed right on her crib, and it made her silver hair look like all the colors you can imagine.”
Your daughter yawned.  “Maybe we can find a rainbow soon,” she said, rubbing her eyes.  You held her close, and kissed her forehead.
"We will try tomorrow, my darling, but for now it is time to sleep.”
She snuggled against you, and you looked down at her sweet little nose, her long silver lashes, and wondered when you would see your husband again.
* * * * *
Aemond dismounted from Vhagar, having landed in the clearing closest to the cabin, and walked through the barely visible path until he caught sight of the familiar structure.
He remembered that day so clearly because it was like the Seven were bestowing their blessings on his family.  His sleeping daughter in her crib, his wife walking toward him, and she’d stopped and smiled.  “Look, Aemond.”
He took the hand she extended to him and looked into the crib.  Their daughter was sleeping curled up on her side, her silver hair down to her shoulders, and through the window, a rainbow had landed on her hair.
He’d smiled and his wife had kissed him and then pulled him to the large bed.
Reaching the cabin, he decided to walk around first, making sure everything was as it should be.  He heard a loud crunching noise by one of the windows and looked down to find he had stepped on a cluster of walnut shells.  Smiling, he went back to the door and opened it slowly.
He stepped in quietly, and a moment later she peeked out from the sleeping area, a large dagger in her hand.
She sighed at the sight of him, placed the dagger high up on a shelf and rushed into his arms. “My love,” she whispered, burying her face in his neck.  He held her tight, the relief coursing through him, and he kissed her temple, her cheek, her lips.
“Is she sleeping?” he whispered.
“Yes,” he felt her smile against him.  “After I told her the story of how we met.  Again.”
“It’s my favorite story, too,” he said, pulling back to look at her.  “Let me change and maybe you can tell it to me, too.”
* * * * *
You watched casually as Aemond changed clothes, not only to admire your husband’s long, lean form but to check for any injuries.  Aside from a couple of bruises, he seemed to be fine, and after making sure your daughter was warm enough for the night, you stretched out on the large bed and waited.
“We will head back tomorrow, send word to the family,” he said as he approached the bed.  He wore only soft sleep pants and your hands itched to touch the broad lines of his shoulders, feel the strength in his arms.  He laid down next to you and caressed your cheek.  “Tell me a story.”
“You must be in my arms, then,” you replied, and he moved to wrap himself around you, his head right under your chin, as you started to stroke his hair.
“Once upon a time, there was a young girl who loved to sing.  One day, she was playing with her cousins and some relatives arrived.  She immediately decided that one of them was the most interesting and intriguing of all, but the next day-”
"-his twat of a cousin ended up taking out his eye.”
You smiled.  “his twat of a cousin ended up taking out his eye.   He was very brave but he was in so much pain, so the girl would sing to him until he could go to sleep.”
“And he thought her voice was the purest sound he’d ever heard.”
“Then her parents took her home, but she couldn’t stop thinking about that boy.”
Aemond wrapped his arms tighter around you.  “And he began to dream of her, and couldn’t stop thinking about her, either.”
“And she missed him so much.  Soon after, she received a letter from him, saying thank you for all the times she had sung to him.  She wrote him back, and then he wrote back-”
“And he wanted to tell her he knew he loved her, but he thought she would never love him back and only felt pity for him.”
“Aemond.”
He looked up, “it’s true.”
“But the boy was wrong, as boys often are, for she already loved him and wanted nothing more than to be with him-”
“in bed.”
You reached down and covered his mouth, and felt him laugh in response.  “But as they were both so young, they knew they had to wait.”
He kissed your palm.  “But he knew, she was the only one for him.”  He looked up again and kissed your lips.
“Kepa!”
Aemond sat up just in time for his daughter to jump onto him.  “Muña was telling you the story again?”
“Yes, my jewel.  Have you been good for muña?”
The little girl nodded, then looked at you for confirmation.
“She has been wonderful.  But she needs to be sleeping right now.”
“Muña, can I sleep with you and kepa?  Please?”
