i really wanted to paint this since about march, but haven't really found the time to do so. at last, i finished it before the end of pride month.

the two girls are dressed in traditional Slovak folk dress, or kroj (traditional folk formalwear) from Piešťany region. Piešťany and the nearby village of Krakovany have one of the most gorgeous forms of kroj in the entire country and for a long time, dolls dressed in this style of dress were gifted to foreign delegations to represent my country. the same country that won't represent people like me

it is a form of reclamation, in a way, to depict sapphic love in this dress. we're here, and have always been here, even if the rest of the people will deny us our existence. this is for all my fellow queers living through being a hot point of debate during elections. you are seen and you are loved. you are part of this country, and you are part of our culture, and the culture belongs to you just as much as to everyone else

Sometimes I wonder if I am squandering my future by not getting further education to get a higher paying job like my family and coworkers suggest and will one day wake up feeling like I wasted everything, but how do I phrase that I am satisfied with mediocrity of my life? That I don't have goals or aspirations?

I am satisfied with my average job with average pay. I can rent my own apartment, splurge every once in a while. I just feel like living my Average™ lifestyle is disappointing to people who think I can accomplish more, and sometimes I wonder if they're right, I guess?

Addition: i think a big thing for me is that I hate change and once I settle into a routine, the concept of changing it makes me want to throw up

Are any other ATLA fic writers unhinged and as obsessed with making up fake animal hybrids as I am? In my current fic, June uses a lot of animal metaphors and I had to start tracking them so I wasn't making any that are too close to each other. Here are some of my favorites, I want to know if anyone else has any they created that they're fond of! I might need to draw some of these.
