'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' Movie and 4K Review
The following review was written by Ultimate Rabbit correspondent, Tony Farinella. When the sequel to “Beetlejuice” was announced, movie fans all over the world were excited for its release. The original 1988 film has long since become a Halloween classic and required viewing every October. I thought the original “Beetlejuice” was okay, as the style and the tone of the film didn’t always connect…

4 days ago, I saw Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in theatres, I'm giving this at 9/10. After the movie, I went to Denny's and got myself a Beetlejuicy Burger and a Cookies 'n' Scream shake.

Thrive out spite, if necessary
The vast majority of the time, I go through the world trying to magnify the good--at least, out loud. But sometimes, life hands me a big pile of shit. (It does that to everyone.)
One of the huge shifts I had in my global perspective happened about two years ago when I had a steep uphill battle with uterine cancer. And I realized that... too much shit results in toxic shock and can kill a person. You can't take all that in and hold on to it.
Sometimes, you have to take shit and use it to fertilize your crops.
Sometimes, you have to accept that life isn't fair, and that it hands you so much shit, that if you don't start using that to your advantage, to focus and motivate you, you will get buried.
No one wants to die under a mound of shit.
It's very very VERY clear to me that the Western music industry is scared of BTS and that people in their own companies have it out for Jimin in particular. There's been issues with every release, of course, and I'm no solo or anti--but it's so, SO blatant now that Geffen executives feel empowered to mock ARMY requests for presale links on an open timeline.
And I'll be real with you, when I saw this shit unfold last night, I felt... RAGE. Because every member of BTS is a good person and a hardworking, talented artist in their own right. They all deserve the very best. But my bias in particular is one of the kindest, most humble, most altruistic people on the planet--he has never been difficult or ego-driven--and he does not deserve to be hobbled this way.
So I intend to work extra, extra hard for him. I will shovel through the shit and I will buy, and stream, and vote like a madwoman, until the very end. Even if they cull his numbers and sabotage his charts, his profits in sales and the noise made online will show him--it wasn't all for naught. He's seen, he's heard, he's appreciated, he's loved. (To be honest, he could show up in an empty grass field and sing through a bullhorn and I'd still find a way to get there and scream my lungs out for him. Nothing's gonna stop Park Jimin.)
If you're as enraged as I am and you want to do something productive with that energy, stream the hell out of your playlists and ask at least one family member and one friend to promise to buy SGMB this Friday.
And remember:
Most of the time, things blossom out of love.
But sometimes, you have to thrive out of spite.

Wait sorry what issues with Jimin’s album?
Well, the list is quite extensive.
Firstly, the last time I checked, there had been no restock or reactivation of the preorder option for Jimin's album in various outlets such as Target. This is quite disheartening, especially considering the high demand and the eagerness of fans to purchase his work. It's not just about the physical availability; it's a matter of respect and acknowledgement of Jimin's hard work and artistry.
Additionally, there's the issue with SMERALDO GARDEN MARCHING BAND, which is set to be released in a few days. Despite this imminent release, there has been virtually no promotion beyond a mere mention in the album's release schedule. This lack of visibility is troubling. Other members have received comprehensive promotional campaigns, including preorder links for both digital and CD formats. It's bewildering and frustrating that Jimin's work isn't receiving the same level of attention and support.
To date, there has been no promotion on social media platforms regarding this song's release. Not a single mention from the official BH accounts. Moreover, there are no pre-save or pre-add links available, which are crucial for ensuring that the song reaches a wide audience upon release. All of this for a song that is supposed to be released on 28th June—time is running out, and the silence is deafening.
If that wasn't enough, many fans have been vocal about these issues for several days now. One particular incident stands out: an account tagged an executive from GEFFEN RECORDS, specifically the head of streaming. Rather than addressing the concerns, the executive responded by posting a link to a song that two Western artists are releasing. The insensitivity of this response caused a pandemonium within the fanbase. It's not just a matter of disappointment; it's a feeling of being disregarded and disrespected.
We are all incredibly frustrated with GEFFEN, Hybe, and Bighit. These companies are supposed to support Jimin, yet their actions—or lack thereof—suggest otherwise. So far, there has been no response to our concerns, which only fuels our discontent. If any of you have accounts on Twitter or X, as it is now called, I urge you to post about this issue. We need to amplify our voices and demand that Jimin's work be treated with the respect it deserves.
Jimin is an exceptional artist who deserves respect and fair treatment. We are exhausted by the constant issues that seem to plague his projects, always with the companies that are supposed to be supporting him at the centre of the problem. It's unacceptable that Jimin, despite his immense talent and dedication, is consistently let down by those who should be his biggest advocates. This is not just about one song or one album; it's about recognising and valuing an artist who has given so much to his craft and his fans.
Jimin's contributions to music and his influence as an artist are significant. His work resonates with millions of fans worldwide, and he has continually demonstrated his commitment to excellence. Therefore, it is not too much to ask that the companies responsible for promoting and distributing his work do their jobs effectively. We demand better treatment for Jimin and we will not be silenced until our voices are heard and our concerns are addressed. Jimin deserves nothing less than the best, and we, as his fans, will continue to advocate for him until he receives the respect and recognition he rightfully deserves.

On October 12th, 1994, DreamWorks Pictures was founded by Steven Spielberg, David Geffen, and former Disney chairman Jeffery Katzenberg. They have produced many films in the past 30 years, but most notably their animated films which led to the company being one of Disney’s biggest rivals in the coming decades. In honor of DreamsWorks’s 30th anniversary, here’s my Top 10 favorite animated DreamWorks movies:
1. The Prince of Egypt (1998)

2. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)

Geffen issues a non-apology “statement”
Tumblr media
They are “deeply sorry this happened” as it was a “mistake.”
Geffen still has not posted on their social media about MUSE (save for the mention in this note) and still has not issued pre-order links for ‘Who’ or a UK-eligible version of MUSE. Please continue to tag the company with those requests.
Otherwise, we are on Jimin lockdown with less than 10 hours to go until the release of SGMB!

All Cash and No Credit
Let's talk about HYBE's strategy for Jimin's MUSE. It's pretty simple
Maximize Profit - Minimize Success
Let's break down how they're doing it.
Goal #1 is to get as many customers as possible to buy from Weverse instead of regular retailers like chains (Target, Walmart, Barnes & Noble) and online sellers like Amazon. When fans buy on Weverse, a HYBE subsidiary, the company keeps not only the wholesale portion of the album sale, but the retail portion as well. This is obvious, right? If not, I'm happy to explain. The company likely makes twice the profit (give or take) on albums purchased via Weverse. AND, they can control when those albums are shipped, and how, when, or if the sales are reported to the music charting agencies.
The fact that Target pre-sales of MUSE is sold out within hours is suspect. This indicates limited stock, just like the strategy used for Like Crazy CD singles. Meanwhile, Geffen is very slow to release the pre-sale links for other retailers. The Walmart presale just went up. Where are B&N and Amazon? Will they have limited inventory, too?
Putting Jimin's Production Diary on Weverse only was a conscious choice. The cost of the documentary was expensive - more than the monthly fee for streaming services, the company kept all the profit (didn't have to share the costs with Netflix or Disney+), and limited his exposure to the general public. I suspect they will operate the same way with MUSE.
Goal #2 Keep Jimin as low as possible on the charts. We've seen this over and over. First, by splitting Like Crazy versions and disappearing sales, no CD restocks. Then we saw the same behavior from BH/HYBE again with Closer Than This being released on the worst possible day of the year and almost zero promotion. You know the details.
HYBE will limit stock. They will likely not report all sales.
MUSE physical albums will not be eligible for UK charts because of a random inclusion. The previous four solo album releases have had specific UK versions with no inclusions. UK fans will have to rely on digital sales for charting purposes unless BH provides a new version. Dirty.
Goal #3 Promote the album just enough to garner sales from fans while minimizing advertising to the greater public. The announcement of the new album is also strange. The teaser video was only on Instagram and only on the BigHit/BTS channel (this didn't stop anyone, though, as far as I can tell) as well as Weverse (I'm getting tired of that platform). TikTok is a far more effective advertising tool when it comes to targeting young people. Why wasn't the teaser posted to TikTok? Either way, "Jimin Jimin" was trending on X/Twitter with over 1.7 million mentions many hours after the announcement of the new album. There's only so much BH can do to suppress Jimin now that fans have taken marketing him into their own hands.
Let's keep an eye on this.
What's different this time around? This time the fandom knows who is behind thwarting Jimin's success. Precious time was lost during the FACE era when everyone was blaming Jimin's sabotage on Billboard and Spotify, rather than the rightful villain - HYBE/Big Hit. This time the fandom knows to watch their every move and call them out on their shady and unequal treatment. That said, tagging Geffen, Big Hit, and HYBE on X is pretty much useless. They have shown they won't change their behavior when fans complain. Instead, fans must start tagging Billboard, Spotify, and media outlets. Media outlets are the most important. HYBE does not care about the fandom, but they do care about their public image, especially after all the damage that's been done to the company and the stock price due to the ADOR controversy and court case.
I think Jimin is going to a different label for his solo work. That's my hunch. The company is going to squeeze as much profit out of him as possible before he goes, but it's a balancing act because they don't want him to outshine Jungkook. Of course, I could be completely wrong.

idk how you can be so positive when the drop in ktown4u is more than 20k! not a small difference that can be overlooked! i also think armys besides being burnout from the continuous releases won't support jm because this time around hybe is even worse not even giving amazon links for purchase or a EU album version eligible for UK charts when they did for everyone else, and armys now are too reliant on the push jk got and if they have to work a bit they just won't! it's frustrating because why does jm have to go through this? and he still gets hate to this day when he did incredible numbers with face debut, #1 on bbh100 but they just focus on the drop, LC still charting on US spotify more than a year later but even armys buy jjks bs about being vpns, so imagine is his second album numbers drop significantly... and I don't see armys big accounts tagging hybe and geffen to give us links and EU exclusive
“but the point is that only pjms and some jm biased armys acknowledge he is being actively sabotaged by hybe, jjks are especially loud in declaring he is somehow the company's favorite and they get hit tweets saying that and that reaches army spaces too, and people outside the fandom don't know he is being sabotaged they only care about his low numbers to use as drag material” -anon
So you want me to be pessimistic and sow negativity and panic like y’all and some other people have been doing?
I’m aware that the ktown numbers have dropped from FACE. And I can’t say it shocks me. The fandom is still a mess, there’s an active boycott, and a lot of armys are still bitter at Jimin. It can’t be helped.
And honestly the way y’all are centering your anxieties about how MUSE will perform around how antis will use the numbers to drag Jimin is real lame to me cause why do y’all care so much? No matter how Jimin performs, antis would drag him. I’ve seen multiple Lisa stans call him a flop in the past 24 hours, but I know it’s not true so I keep it pushing. lmao. And we know big armys accounts will not be moving for Jimin because it’s been made clear that they don’t fuck with him so why are y’all still looking at them to support or even care? Jimin has his own fanbases who have been doing the tagging, and there are still army fanbases helping out with it too. The people who want to support Muse will support just like a ton of PJMS reactivated their accounts after how long to do so.
I’m not letting anybody ruin this release for me. Been waiting too long for it, so take this fear mongering somewhere else and up out my inbox.

but whats weirder asf about katseyes pov of idols is that current idol groups seem to love having that western validation, going to foreign award shows boosts the groups recognition by far, so im not surprised if their negative view of katseye stems from actual racism or just stigma, but considering these groups popularity abroad u thought theyd have been more accepting of westerners? or at least more familiar. how do katseye then feel about their reputation?

the hermit, 10 of swords rx, 6 of wands
in both the west and k-pop industries, the feelings seem to be the same. they definitely feel like they don't belong anywhere. despite the fact that they come from one of the big companies (for k-pop, hybe, for the west, geffen is a subsidiary of a big company), katseye wonder why they are unlucky and why things aren't working out. they have fans and are grateful for them, but they hoped that things would be different among the industries they are in. the group thinks that they are "something average" and they really had completely different expectations. sophia in particular expected that they would be much more noticed from the beginning, while the other girls try to accept reality in a superficial way, but they don't succeed. the girls are optimistic about the future and strongly hope to change the current situation.

DreamWorks Animation SKG (Spielberg, Katzenberg, Geffen)
I am recently really worried about DreamWorks Animation because of their many lay offs and the fact that they will do Animation not in House anymore. It’s just sad to see this fantastic company suffer. I honestly think it wasn’t the best idea to make the guy, who is responsible for the minions the head of a studio that isn’t like Illumination at all. Its like Universal wants DreamWorks to be Illumination, but this wouldn’t work. I am also very worried about the upcoming httyd remake, which I personally don’t need or think it’s necessary, but I take it any day over a fourth movie. I know DreamWorks is the King of Sequels and maybe also the King of Trilogies, because their Trilogies come better together as full stories as some from other studios. I just instantly hope that they don’t go the way Disney goes with its endless remakes or Illumination with its fun but not really heartwarming movies. DreamWorks has their own animation style and they made some of the greatest animated movies ever. I really hope they recover from this Dark Age and get back their greatness and glory. I hope this company will continue to exists even if I’ve been an old woman at these days. They really deserve to get their amazingly well trained animators back. I mean what is DreamWorks without its many talented animators, who do hard work to make the movies reality that we love today.
