#The Detective Wars

Something something Detective Pikachu but it's with Cody, and Obi-Wan turned into a shiny Luxio (because I'm the artist and Luxio/Shinx/Luxray are my favorite Pokémon).

Btw I know nothing about the Detective Pikachu games and only watched the movie once like 7 years ago. So this is mostly just me wanting to draw Obi-Wan as a Pokémon, and Cody's there too because I love him.

The plot is just Luxio Obi-Wan and Cody running around trying to figure out how to turn Obi-Wan back into a human and along the way they somehow uncover the Sith Plot and save the Galaxy. All while Obi-Wan doesn't have opposable thumbs.

crystal palace is literally the reason anything happens in the show, she's the catalyst for everything. ghosts are stagnant, they're unchanging. edwin literally says that the living are messy and it's true.. crystal is such a messy, complicated human. but conflict and messes are what instigate change and conversation. without crystal, they wouldn't have saved that little girl. they wouldn't have gotten stuck in port townsend. edwin might've never found out about the extent of charles' trauma without crystal spelling it out for him. edwin might not have reexamined his and charles' relationship. they wouldn't have resolved their afterlife problem!! crystal dragged edwin scowling and bitching into the messy affairs of the living and it was honestly for the better. say thank you crystal palace

I'm very sleepy but I've had another Edwin thought.

Before WWII, the unnecessary gendering of pink and blue was actually swapped; pink was associated with boys, and blue with girls. The reason it swapped after WWII is gay men sent to concentration camps were marked as such with pink triangles, and so the color became associated with femininity instead of masculinity. Tragic yet fascinating stuff, and absolutely worth knowing, as all things relating to concentration camps, especially in WWII, are. How to avoid history repeating itself, etc-

But why does that make me think of Edwin? Yes he's gay, but he predates WWII, and he's definitely not associated with the color pink?

It's because of all that, and he's associated with blue, of course!

Blue was the needlessly gendered girl color in Edwin's time, and he liked it even before he died, the blue cap Simon snatched off him, remember? I'm not 100% sure on if it's a one to one or if we've gone even harder on the needlessly gendering, but picturing every instance of blue related to Edwin as pink instead as a thought exercise for the fem vibes of his clothes is fun, to me at least.

Shadow and Bone - 2 seasons - Netflix - Season 3 was already mostly written when cancelled

My Lady Jane - 1 season - Amazon Prime - Story not resolved, set up for a second season (in fact the show shows you what's supposed to happen in the second season)

Half-Bad: The Bastard Child and the Devil Himself - 1 Season - Netflix - Main story wrapped up but easily open enough for a second series exploring the world

Star Wars: The Acolyte - 1 season - Disney Plus - First series feels mostly like set up for a second series we'll now never get

Dead Boy Detectives - 1 season - Netflix - Set up for a second series with a minor cliff hanger and an open continuation for the characters

Lockwood and Co - 1 season - Netflix - Potential for a second season

I Am Not Okay With This - 1 season - Netflix - Story not properly resolved, needed a second season

National Treasure: Edge of History - 1 season - Disney Plus - Story concluded, but lots of potential for a second season

Gentleman Jack - 2 Seasons - HBO Max/BBC - So much more potential, it had so much real life basis it could have followed

Our Flag Means Death - 2 Seasons - HBO Max - I actually liked the ending we got, but I feel like the show had more potential, particularly with the crew

First Kill - 1 season - Netflix - (Not one I watched, it was on my tbw but it got cancelled and I didn't see the point)

Grease: Rise of The Pink Ladies - 1 season - Disney Plus - So much more potential And Insult to injury they've all but wiped it from the platform

A running theme for these shows are that they have a pretty high amount of LGBT rep, with a lot of these shows centering on queer characters and stories, as well as representation for POC. There are also a lot of fantasy/supernatural shows.

I just find it fascinating that there seems to be a lot of similarities between most of these shows.

Eviction

I did not make rent, I’m no where near it. I still have $750 to raise. Out of desperation I charged my card just to attempt to pay. The 3rd is the absolute last day to pay. The office is closed, so on Monday the leasing office will see whether I paid or not. If I don’t raise the remaining $750 the transaction will decline.

If my payment declines I will be charged an additional $100 for processing fee. Not only that I will pay for the late fee which is $100 + $10 everyday rent is late. This is still in effect even if they are evicting the tenant. Evictions take 1-3 months every month I reside in my apartment they will charge me if I don’t vacate. The $100 + late fee will still resume even in eviction. I processed the payment despite not having enough to pay rent to buy time. I am lucky that rent fell on the weekend and not during the week.

This is my final plea to staying housed. I have exhausted all options. If payment does not reflect by Sunday Midnight. I will be issued a notice to vacate Monday.
