or something like that

It's no surprise that the Ancients get bored. They are immortal and have all the time in the world to complain about it, sadly Danny joined them after he was crowned.

Their monthly meetings are divided into three topics: Taunting the Observants (Clockwork's favorite topic after they were demoted to helpers, assistants, and other menial jobs), talking about the safety of the Realms (quite peaceful if just as chaotic), and argue.

They- really had nothing to do, and their hobbies eventually bored them. So Danny had a brilliant idea (read: he saw it on a TV show) and decided that they should all become mentors and save one of the dimensions.

Clockwork was about to say that was not a good idea, since it was the same as throwing giants into a world of ants but he needed some fun so he kept quiet. He showed them the dimension of DC and how it was continually being destroyed, the King told them to start their project in that place and select someone.

Clockwork selected Flash because he felt vengeful, Nocturne selected Tim Drake for the same reason, and so they went; each one of the Ancients selecting a "champion" they were going to teach. Although their selection reasons were quite absurd (being that they were selecting their opposite poles or just someone interesting).

Danny being a spirit of protection, selected Jason Todd and secretly Billy Batson, because he was the king and could break the rules (Clockwork rolled his eyes at the comment). The question now was, how did they appear to them and avoid the world's myriad routes of destruction?

Well at least they weren't bored anymore

Writing about your OC's backstory is fun and games, until the urge to doodle comes up. Then it's doodle time.

Either way, doodled some of Valerian's eating habits.

Due to growing up in a lab, he learned to not be a picky eater. Scarfing down anything he got his hands on, in case someone would take it away.

That also means he is easy to bribe with good/normal food.

Like that one time he rummaged through a certain pilots trash, only to get invited to lunch at a local burger joint.

#I've spent the past week organizing in the play's wake - sorting and laundering huge numbers of costumes #some to return to those they belong to and some to come home to my costume storage room which had become chaotic over the last few #months #so a complete spring cleaning for the storage room became part of my task list too. Now the play's been over for a week #and the emails are starting to come in from admin about next year. As some of you know I did a lot of discernment this semester #about what next year should look like and I have decided a mix of continuity is best. I won't be working for my 'main' schoolboard anymore #but I will continue to teach and direct for the one program in the city (the one I did the play for) and possibly with a new home school #enrichment program that may go ahead this year if there are sufficient numbers. Otherwise I am going to spend a semester #tutoring and running workshops f I can get it off the ground. Then we'll see.#Anyway - admin wants me to get new syllabi in to them within a month's time so my thoughts are all in that direction!#I get to teach 19th/20th century Canadian history to the middle schoolers and Late Antique/Medieval Church History to the high schoolers!#Also direct another play and do a humanities course centred around an epic in the spring (the last couple of years we've done Iliad and #Odyssey - they want Aeneid this year but I am trying to talk them into another option. The Aeneid is valuable but I am not sure it's the #time or place with this group of students. The result of all this is that I am spending far too much time doing Internet research for ideas #and then taking breaks on tumblr - which isn't good for my eyes or mental health. What with the play and end of term #I fear I've been out of the reading habit. I'm still hyperfixating on the Book of Romans so there's that at least #but I lost the novel I was in the middle of and am not feeling so motivating with out books. It's a proper reading slump! I need a kickstar #of sorts. Feel free to yell at me that I should pick up a book!

over the course of my gw2 career, some very important things have become increasingly clear to me:

1) bloodstone dust is simultaneously priceless and worthless and you both want hoards upon hoards of it at any given time because you can never have enough but also you should get rid of it whenever you pick it up immediately because it clogs bag space and is absolutely useless

2) literally every single road leads back to running the silverwastes meta. like literally Every Single One. ever. forever.

#started heart of thorns > decided to go on a quick detour to craft mawdrey bc i needed xp to unlock gliding anyway #> ended up dedicating the entire afternoon and night to running around doing an epic worldwide scavenger hunt >#> ended up teaching myself how to craft to make bloodstone bricks which require level 400 artificer #so i spent like 70 gold on materials and speedran the entire crafting profession in one night #and now all i need is bloodstone dust. lots of it. lots and lots and lots of it.#this is no longer a detour. this is a goal in of itself. i cant bring myself to continue the story til i have that plant.#yin-thoughts #guild wars 2 #anyway there's a fun peek into the gaming life of yin for yall. im sure it's incomprehensible and horrifying both with and without context #this is literally nothing in terms of the bad mmo grinding habits ive somehow spontaneously acquired over the past week #did you know WoW gives you a big puppy dog mount if you 100% complete all of dragonflight? i know.#so that's also what ive been spending the precious hours i have left on this earth doing. ur welcome for this arcane knowledge as well #i need to pass out good night

#i would be so susceptible to cult tactics i won't lie #BUT I WOULD BE SO GOOD AT IT #i am extremely drawn to asceticism and one of my literal life goals and core tenants is kindness #and i have a deep drive to learn things and think knowledge is one of the entire points of life #i love meditation and have attempted multiple times to make it a lifelong daily habit (i'll get it someday)#i have no interest in marriage #i enjoy taking care of other people and teaching kids and i am good at it #i am so good at contemplative silence and reading books and drinking tea #i would love to learn martial arts of any kind and have seriously contemplated finding a class to learn so many times (someday)#i have so many thoughts about the nature of life and death and the universe #i have so many thoughts about accepting things and letting go and controlling emotions #I SHOULD HAVE GOT TO BE A JEDI
