I'm rewatching Hunters, and it made me think about how Tagiru and Yuu are such a missed opportunity for a good MC and Lancer pair.

They touch on Tagiru viewing the hunt as a game and Yuu having trauma with that kind of thing, but it's really just a throw away line and if Hunters wasn't just a cute slice of life it could have gone somewhere.

And like it has that extra layer that Tagiru is kind of a remake of Daisuke and Yuu is kind of a remake of Takeru (being an aged up veteran Chosen Child/lancer at the start of the series) and Ken (Treating Digimon as a game/lancer for the rest of the series).

Hunters is just another case of Digimon just barely missing the mark on something. It was so close

It is a crime that Digimon Hunters didn't have an episode where Daisuke and Tagiru ran into each other and get into shenanigans together.

Digimon Xros Wars: Young Hunters Rewrite Idea

I've had this idea for a while, so here are some highlights. I like take forever to even consider writing, but this concept is genuinely super cool to me.

Tagiru is a human created by digimon. In the series, the digimon know that human bonds make them stronger, so trying to manufacture a human for the sake of power and bonding would be an interesting concept. The issue is that humans don't age like digimon.

With this in mind, Tagiru teaming up with Gumdramon makes more sense with the implications of Tagiru breaking through the seal on Gumdramon's evolution.

Tagiru wasn't frozen during the parts of the war that take place in the human world, and he knows what digimon are. He knows what they are because of his dreams, not prophetic like Taiki's were, but rather memories.

Tagiru grew up in the digital world until he was four, and the war started to become really dangerous. A digimon took him to the human world, where he was found by a young couple who adopted him.

Maybe I'll post more about it later, but other highlights include

Daisuke and Ryo being related and the consequences of jumping universes because you know your extended family. Like from Daisuke's perspective, his cousin and aunt vanished into thin air so drama.

Digimonth No.7, Home. Home is where the heart is, and nobody knows it better than Noah Evans. When Yggdrasil took him in, Noah already knew what to do. Over time, he not only made a new home, but a new family to be close to.

Taiki hide the fact he overprotective of his kouhai, especially Tagiru. When he mad about somth like for example, make Tagiru cry Taiki would smile menacingly to someone, its make the person run away usually

TAGIRU WEEK DAY 1: FIRED UP

I consider myself as a huge Tagiru defender!!! I loved the little guy immediately when I started Hunters, I like that we got a really hyper gremlin protag that wants to achieve his dream of being a ⭐️superstar⭐️ and achieve past his senior Taiki/Mikey.

I really like his personality! He’s super silly and energetic but also kind and determined! These are especially shown through him helping people and becoming friends with them, along with his quest to try and catch every digimon he can find.

Also I love his design, it matched him!! I like that he, Taiki, and Yuu are blue, red, and yellow, primary colors!!!

I love his bonds with others, especially with Taiki and Gumdramon!!! I’m saving my points for those on day 3 though.

and lastly, I really like his story, with the short amount of time the crew had I’m glad they were able to develop him, without changing him too much!!! I would have loved a season and maybe third season though.
