Class 37s are still active on the UK mainline today. Even the broadest of minds would have found that a strange notion back in the early 1960s.

They entered service from 1961, just before yellow ends were mandated. Colour photos of them before these were painted are less than common.

Cyclothymia, cycloid personality, hyperthymia (hyperthymic personality), or BD-III (bipolar disorder type 3): a mental state characterized by marked swings of mood between depression and elation (hypomania or euthymic mood); characterised by a persistent instability of mood over a period of at least 2 years, involving numerous periods of hypomanic (e.g., euphoria, irritability, or expansiveness, psychomotor activation) and depressive (e.g., feeling down, diminished interest in activities, fatigue) symptoms that are present during more of the time than not. Characterization and Enneagram Type 3: The Overachiever

The Enneagram of Personality is a tool that categorizes human behavior into nine types based on motivations, fears, and desires.

This is also a useful tool for characterization, mapping your characters into one of the enneagram types to further flesh them out.

Type 3 is formally known as The Achiever.

Below are remixed/flanderized characteristics of this type.

Background:  Grew up in a place where they were beneath others: shamed and bullied.

Personality:

Ambitious: Never satisfied with the current level of success.

A Leader: People are naturally drawn to their drive and charisma.

Relentless: They sacrifice personal happiness to climb higher.

Image-Conscious: Perfection, presentation and performance are everything to them.

Positive Arc: Learning to be satisfied with themselves, realizing they have done enough and can stop striving for external validation.

Negative Arc: Losing someone or something they love in exchange for achieving everything they ever wanted—realizing too late that success is hollow without people to share it with.

Threes are attractive and charming. Ambitious, competent, and energetic, they can also be status-conscious.
