So I’m afraid I might be missing the kings, but I have the queens!

Like I said in the previous post, these were originally supposed to be used on TikTok for quick visualizations of characters, but screw it! We lost so much art I want to show something off

Tabitha, High Chieftess of Andalasia, Queen of the Supernatural and Mairlena, Queen of the Underworld and Northern Styx are queens in their own right.

Rochelle, Queen of Heaven, is married to God and Celeste, Queen of Hell is married to Lucifer.

Psyche, Queen of Aeneas, is married to Cupid and Victoria, Queen of Reapers, is married to Lamonte, the god of Death. She’s the only Queen of a species and not a kingdom.

Marissa is the late Queen of Hell, she was Lucifer’s first wife and Damian’s mother.

Marvel’s an Old Lady

He acts like an old lady. I don’t know. Let’s say Billy’s been spending too much time volunteering at an elderly home because he doesn’t want to be on the streets skulking around. It’s rubbed off on him.

Like for example, he knits like crazy at the Watchtower. It gives him something to do with his hands, what can he say?

Marvel: *in an all too small rocking chair, holding too small knitting needles, zoned out, listening to the gods argue while making a quilt that’s like twelve feet long*

Hal Jordan and John Stewart: *peaking around a corner, watching Marvel*

Later Billy cut up the quilt a little bit and donated it all to a homeless shelter.

Then of course there’s the classic old lady move of giving out candy. He’d give the younger heroes candies. He’d give the younger heroes who have become adult heroes candies. And overall, he’d just give everyone candies.

Flash: *telling Marvel about some problems with Iris* “—And now she’s mad at me!”

Marvel: “Oh, it’s okay Flash. Here, have some candy.” *puts a strawberry taffy in Barry’s hand*

Flash: *sniffles as he shoves it into his mouth, wrapper and everything* “Thanks, man.”

i honestly enjoyed nightwing #111?? i don’t typically pick up the issue and expect to dislike it, tbc, but my overall interest and enjoyment had been on a marked decline since…hmm maybe #91?

i think my main concern is that whenever dick “gets wrecked” the recovery/aftermath is just not it. so it’s like…yk from wreck-it ralph when felix and calhoun get stuck in the nesquick sand? they figure out that if she smacks him it makes the laffy taffy stretch and because he can fix any damage with his hammer, she just goes all out. technically, felix gets hurt a ton. but like the net consequence was nothing. that’s how i feel most “dick gets wrecked” arcs go

Those are such good tips, I use them for my ocs too! Here's some other ideas I didn't see being mentioned here:

Wikipedia. Just skim through articles about military, weaponry, vehicles, etc in search of cool words. You can even find some actual names people gave to weapons and machines! This is from articles on Boeing RC-135 (tagging @president-alpine because LOOK IT'S CYBER'S FAMILY) and BM-21 Grad respectively:

You can get whole families/flocks, like here it could be Rivet flock for the Boeing family. Prima, Damba, Berest, Reo are such cool names too. KRL can easily become Karl. Langusta means lobster in Polish so this ttly could be a cyber lobster with a rocket launcher alt. How cool is that.

Names deriving from numbers. Let's say someone's serial number ends with 7 or has several sevens and they're called Sevvie. The one that's "first version of a given series" can have a name Primavera. Someone with 12 can be Doze or Doozie (from dozen, can have double meaning: dose as in dosage or doozy as in outstanding). Using Kay as thousand - 3055 -> 3k5s -> FreeKayFives or 8000 -> 8k -> EightKay -> Ey-Key / Eh-Kay. You can name someone Error 'cuz his number happens to be 404. Heck, have fun with leetspeak and call a guy Bob 'cuz his number ends or starts with 808.

Weather phenomena and disaster names. Hurricane, Stratus, Cirrus, Tornado, Cumulus, Nimbus, Aurora, Halo, Quake, Avalanche, Black Ice, Bow Echo, Brightband, Sinkhole, Landslide, Gale... just check this meteorology glossary and those types of disasters.

Time, places and events. Before war: WinStrive, WarSpark, Affray, FistClash for those who made a name for themselves during war. For those created after the war ended: NewHope, TT or Paxtie (short for treaty / peace treaty), Concord, Entie or Tanti (short for entente) Earliera (born early in the new era). Space/star names for those who were created in specific places in space like Vela, Pixys, Pictor, Crater, Cetus - those are constellations but you can use galaxies, planets or wherever your oc got created or "became someone."

And you can ttly let yourself have more characters having the same name and being differenciated by color, profession, number or whatever. Just like people who have 3 Marys in their class or 2 Brads.

And here's how I named a few blorbos from my mind using some of the tips:

POWER/PROFESSION NAMES:

Breeze - slight wind powers, later turns out he's much more powerful and used to be called Hurricane before amnesia.

TerrorRain - BM-21 Grad (missile launcher) altmode, always seems to have more ammo, aggressive, literally rains terror on enemies.

Taffy - can create fluffy pink clouds for artistic effect.

Morphine - medic dead inside, abuses meds 'cuz he think he can if he's a medic himself and knows the risks.

Lord Master - prolly has a different name but everyone refers to him as either Lord or Master or both. Evil big boss, filthy rich and powerful, used to own Taf and Breeze as his property.

COLOR NAMES:

MiniMint - human sized and in minty color, named by the still unnamed mech who found and adopted her.

Taffy (again) - is pastel pink. Also his name kinda relates to his personality. May be annoying but is very soft and "fluffy."

Neon Shades (or Shadows, idk yet) - group of stealth seekers doing light shows like the irl group Light Balance. Super dark colors + neon extras like programmed LEDs or make up that shows in blacklight.

OTHER:

StrongSpark - almost died of spark failure, name for good luck. Name suggested by Terry as irony but Morph like it and it stayed.
