Your recent reblog reminded me, how did you feel about the theories that Viren either put Harrow's soul in the bird or in a cursed coin?

Also, if you're willing, I'd be super interested on your take (headcannon, one-shot, art, ect) of either senario

"Harrow is the Bird" is definitely a classic TDP theory.

From economic storytelling POV I never really saw what it would add to TDP. I always loved how profoundly sad it was when Ezran and Callum had to face the harsh reality of their father's death. One of the reasons besides Aaravos and Viren's intense homoerotic chemisty that made the season 2 my fav season. Harrow managed to be on of the most impactful characters in TDP despite the little screentime he had. I thought bringing him back would be kind of a disservice for his character. At the same time I really miss him and I do like the idea of getting more Harrow scenes, especially with Viren.

It's a neat theory and Viren would totally do something like put a man in a bird . When it comes to headcanons I once entertained the idea of writing a fic where Aaravos was the one who brought Harrow back to get into Ezran's good graces (for manipulative reasons of course). I never got around writing that becuase I had a gut feeling that Aaravos was way too antagonistic to treat Ezran even with a modicum of respect and now we know the canon agrees.

Also if Harrow came back it'd be really funny to see him desperately struggling to grasp everything that had happened during his dark magic bird coma.

Random TDP headcannons

- Callum has a high spice tolerance, Rayla does not

-Bait collects gossip and spills the less sensitive stuff to Ezran

-There is a relationship crash course every new castle staff member has to take

-The castle staff have bets on just about everything that happens with the dragang

-MANY a courtly schemes where ruined when Callum and Rayla became a thing

-The staff have a nick name for Rayla and it’s future princess or future mistress

-Callum and Rayla didn’t actually make a formal announcement about their relationship, so nobody but those who lives in the castle new and their relationship became court gossip

-Many if the girls at court were pissed that the prince would pick an elf over them

-Said girls tried very hard to ruin her reputation but got some very intense death glares and warnings

-Opelie has to handle all the PR and when Rayla left her job became ten times harder because Callum refused to do shit

while i do think brooklynn had her reasons, i do like to hc that there were other mysteries brooklynn would get involved in. (i just wanna let the two live their best esther stone lives, sue me) and when she would go down that rabbit hole, it was kenji she'd send incessant texts to and she would tell him about the inconsistencies and concerns in her case over their video calls.

i think he would help her see some things she'd miss (cause my boy is smart, okay) or get her to de-stress when it was clear she needed it.

i think before she had a license, he was the one driving her around to her stakeouts.

theres this scene in agggtm where pip and ravi sort of re-enact a murder&cover-up scene to determine whether or not a suspect was able to have done it, and i keep envisioning a scene like that.

So I actually used some motivation that was lying around in my brain today to start a little snippit of a TDP fanfic/headcannon/ whatever you wanna call it, that I had in mind. Is it as good as some of my other non fandom works?- No not really, but it may be something. I may also post a picture of the different characters and their ages and whatnot. The snippit will be in the next post.

Startouch Elf Headcannons!

This is based off of very little evidence! They're ideas that popped into my head and until they're disproved, I'll be using these.

✨ Wandering Stars ✨

Most Startouch Elves travel through space. They have magic that lets them endure the harsh environment of the space in between worlds, and magic that allows them to cross vast spaces quickly.

Due to their usual habitats, Startouch are used to the cold and usually prefer colder habitats to warm ones.

The reason Startouch are so rare isn't due to scarcity, but rather the vastness of the cosmos. There is no telling how many startouch there are or how widespread their influence is.

It's rare to see more than one startouch travel together. They usually travel alone. There are exceptions, however.

Depending on their upbringing, startouch can be taught they were superior to other life, they were the universe's favored creations. Some may fall into this trap even if they were taught differently.

A startouch elf can wander for thousands of years before meeting another one, exploring the galaxy and far reaching planets.

Alternatively, they may choose to stay around the same system, or even inhabit the same planet, for most of their life.

They can navigate using the positions of stars. Their connection to magic allows them this knowledge.

Startouch elves do not necessarily need to visit a planet ever. However, when injured, it is easier to recover while on a planet.

Some elves choose to carry worldly possessions with them, though other startouch may say their kind is above such a thing.

✨ Children ✨

Children are rarely born, perhaps one every hundred years (as we think of years).

Often the parents will meet while wandering through space, though not always. Should either of them want a child and both are willing, they descent to a planet to... Engage with each other.

Why a startouch wants a child can vary. Maybe they want someone to teach all they've learned. Maybe they want to add to the universe in someway. Maybe they wanted someone to travel with them through the cosmos.

Pregnancies last at least one full rotation of a planet around a star. It is tradition (one of the very few that exist) for both parents to remain planet bound until the child is born.

After that, one parent will take the child and the other will abscond. It is rare to see a family with both parents rearing a child.

If neither parent wants the child, they either abandon it or they pass off the duty to another startouch. This Startouch is then the guardian of that child. If this hand off is for educational purposes, such as an apprenticeship, the new guardian is referred to as a 'Master'.

Children that cannot do magic yet, and therefore don't have protection from the vacuum of space, are always kept touching the parent in some way to share the spell. Tying their baby to their back, holding a toddler's hands, carrying a child, etc. Letting go can result in death.

Children learn magic at a young age, as well as academics. How much a startouch knows is based on how much their guardian taught them. However it is usually in a startouch elf's disposition to value knowledge and the arcane arts.

If a guardian does not have adequate knowledge or does not provide adequate care, their child may seek out a Master on their own.

Children are often told stories passed down from startouch to startouch. Their purpose is to caution the child from doing something, or to encourage a certain mindset.

Aaravos Touch Starved Romantic Headcanons

He misses contact so much be prepared to help him catch up on a millennium

He'll slip his hands onto your body at every possible opportunity

Whether it's just resting them on your shoulders or intertwining his fingers with yours it happens often

He savors kisses, leaning in and hovering just over you to savor the warmth of your breath on him

But it's not just touch

He longs for every bit of interaction

Your voice, your scent, even the sight of you are all things he missed

Conversation about anything, but especially magic, can go on for hours

He'll often just prefer to let you speak, going quiet and getting lost in the melody of a voice that isn't his

If you can sing you'll hypnotize him

And if you're willing to get close he'll melt under your touch

Especially if you go for the ears or the base of his horns

He'll close his eyes and lean into your hand

Like a cat

If you have longer hair he'll want to run his fingers through it

Please do the same for him

And your scent is something he always likes to get close to experience

Being without company so long has made him forget to rein in his reactions

His ears show his emotion, something most elves prevent with control, but so long locked away has caused him to forget to do so

They'll perk up, twitch, pin back, sag, or tremble depending on the mood

His starry freckles will betray his excitement with pulses and sparkles

If you really get him they get very bright

Bursts of magic will be common if he's surprised or overwhelmed

And his eyes will light up whether he wants them to or not

And he pouts if he doesn't get his way

Not to guilt trip he's just unaware he's showing his dissapointment so much

Or that his lips are so perfect for it

I was tagged by my friend so have this long rant about The Dragon Prince.

#1. Which Primal Source Do you identify most with? Why?

The stars. I find outer space fascinating and calming...also apparently those who relate to the stars often have their heads in the clouds thinking about stuff and since I stay up every night with like 14 stories in my head, that seems to fit.

#2. Elves or Humans?

War and conflict wise: Humans since they were the ones kicked out and most Katolis were just kind of chill about them killing their king and didn’t want to retaliate. They don ‘t want to fight anymore.

Design wise: Elves, I love how different they are from regular humans and all the varieties they come in! They just look so good!

#3. If you had to choose, would you rather free Runaan from the coin or Aaravos from the mirror?

Runaan from the coin. I really like Aaravos but he’s been in there for awhile he can handle a little longer. Also I don’t trust him completely. Freeing Runaan gives more opportunity for story conflicts and character growth while Aavaros is probably gonna be free at some point anyways.

#4. Best animal companion?

I...I can't decide, I love all of them. Zym is great for story purposes (also he’s a dragon), same with Pip, Thunder was epic, Bait need more love, and Phoe Phoe looks so cool!

#5. Best humanoid companion?

Claudia. She’s strong when it comes to magic and would do anything to keep her family close. I can relate to that.

#6. You can revive one character, who is it and why them?

I don’t know. There’s no one in the first two seasons that died that didn’t need to die for the story to work out. I would say Aanaya’s parents but Aanaya needed to be there to make sure Viren didn’t start a war. She wouldn’t be queen if her parents were still there.

#7. Otp?

Harrow x Sarai. They have a good relationship and I loved their chemistry and interactions. Sarai being funny and jovial contrasts well with Harrow’s more serious and deeper moments. At the same time she won’t hesitate to tell her husband when she thinks he’s doing something wrong. They just have a really good relationship and I wish I could see more of it.

#8. Unpopular opinion?

I prefer platonic Rayllum. If romance is gonna be the end game, fine, I’ll tolerate it. I’ve just watched so many Hallmark movies where boy meets girl and they fall in love I get sick of it. It’s mainly a me thing.

#9. Favorite headcanon?

I’d like to think that Claudia and Soren go see their mother every once in awhile. That they might hold a little contempt towards her but they want to try and have a mother. I’d also like to think that their mom also planted a seed of doubt in them about their father, because while Viren is a really complex and morally grey (leaning towards the darker shade of grey) character, I don’t think he realizes it. I think there’s a reason his wife left him that had to do with him not seeing himself as the bad guy, and I kind of hope Claudia and Soren aren’t brainwashed into thinking that their father can do no wrong.

I’d like to headcanon this cause it offers a great naritive appeal in realizing your parents aren’t always good people and that you do NOT have to be like them or make their mistakes. That there are two sides to every story and that people who leave their spouses are not inherently bad or do it for bad reasons.

#10. Best siblings pair?

I know I just talked about them but it’s Soren and Claudia for me. They have One Brain Cell each and most of the time they juggle them for fun. XD

On a more serious note, they remind me of my own relationship with my siblings. My sister is the most important thing to me in my life and we get along well. We also...well, we also live in a split home, just like these two. We’re silly, we make up memes and laugh a lot, we read fanfiction together and draw. We’re really close and help each other with everything. So yeah, how could I not love a sibling pair like Soren and Claudia?

#11. Who’s your Queen?

There’s not many living queens huh? Personally I like Sarai. From what we’ve seen of her, she really cares about life in general.

#12. Lujanne offers you ice cream, how do you respond?

Suspisious…...but I’ll bite (as long as I don’t know it’s grubs XD).

#13. Be honest, do you have the guts to use dark magic?

…...Yes. In all honesty, Claudia’s decision to take that deer’s life to save her brother really struck a nerve in me. If it had been me in her position, my sister paralyzed and I could actually do something about it? I would take that deer’s life in a heartbeat. Dark magic takes a toll on you, I can understand that, but if it takes part of my life to take someone I love? I would do it with no questions asked.

Would I use it constantly? Probably not. I can’t stand being near spiders much less kill them. But I could and would use it if I had to.

#14. Who’s best elf? Why?

Rayla. I love Aaravos but if I’m being objective? He killed people, or helped Viren kill people anyways. Rayla refused to even at her own mission being at stake and has never killed before. 

15. Hot brown morning potion or leaf flavored water?

I don’t know. I don’t particularly like either, I much prefer hot coco.

#16. Best use for magic?

Helping those around you directly or indirectly. Also pranks. Pranks is a good use.

#17. Who wins the best hair award?

Aaravos. Sorry but there’s very little competition there.

#18. Viren; misguided, evil, or actually the good guy?

He knows what he’s doing, but doesn’t think it’s wrong to do so. He does bad things but he feels they are justified. He would take one life he doesn't care about to save a thousand he does know. He’s understandable. He tries to do what he thinks is right.

However he still sends his son to kill two children so he can have the throne. He tells Claudia to disregard her brother in the interest of his own gain. He disregards everyone and everything so that his plans can survive. He hid the dragon egg from Harrow (endangering Ezran) to presumably use against the elves. He wants war no matter the cost. That, no matter the reasoning, is flawed thinking. 

#19. Would you rather fly with Phoe-Phoe, hike with Corvus, sail with Villads, or stay home with Opeli?

I’ve hiked before. I’ve stayed home a lot. I’d prefer flying or sailing, those seem like fun.

#20. Who’s your crush?

Aaravos. I don’t trust him but I’d love to have a conversation with him. His characterization is fascinating and visually he’s very easy on the eyes. I would love to have the opportunity to do what Viren had the chance to do, to talk to him ask questions about him and maybe figure out where he is. I’d also like to learn exactly why he was placed in that mirror….

#21. You’re being chased by a cotton candy hippo; reaction?

RIDE AND EAT IT!

#23. Favorite scene? Why?

Everything in Callum’s mind. I love the funniness of it all, but also the lesson it taught. Just remembering to breathe, to not focus on all those swirling and baffling thoughts that eat you up and to calm down. You don’t need to fix it all, focus on the present and let your brain settle. (Also, it was great to see Callum and his mom.)

#24. Should Soren be a poet?

Yes, well at least at some point. Even if he’s better physically, continuing to be a guard and under his father’s influence might be bad for his mental health. He was just a drone, not really thinking about killing Ezran and Callum, just doing what his father wanted to get approval. Poetry and creative writing is a really good outlet for that.

I should probably be in bed but I’d rather analyse this scene from the trailer a bit so ‘ere we go!

Janai is standing in the middle of what looks like a trial/court area. A human is kneeling infrot of her. The human is in chains and her hands are bandaged. 

Amaya is standing infront of a bench on Janai left, a little bit behind the human. Next to her are Gren and Karim, both sitting.

Behind Amaya is a row of elves and humans overlooking the scene. 

Behind Janai are 6 mysterious masked and hooded figures. Possibly elves.

Amaya, Karim and Gren (not in this shot but he’s probably there) are watching the scene unfold. Amaya looks concerned while Karim is stoic. 

The human infront of Janai is streching her arms out-

as Janai drew her sword.

Amaya looks shocked (or maybe surprised) as the scene is unfolding.

Janai lifts her sword up-

And slashes downward.

I would say that this attack/slash that she’s doing is directed as the chains. She’s moving the sword in a way that the edge is gonna come down between the humans hands 

As in she’s cutting the humans chains infront of her when it was probably expected of her to cut the humans hands off. 

As Ezran put is so nicely in the Trailer: 

“But violence tests us. Cause pain loss feels so terrible inside. We want to hate. We want to hurt someone else. I just want to yell stop. So what do we do?”

Without knowing what’s actually going on in this scene I will go with this theory:

Janai will not cut this humans hands of or hurt her in any way

I see this scene as her not giving into pain and hate. Not looking for vengeance. I’ll assume that it was not her decision anyway but the human was traid and found guilty and she was just supposed to execute the action. 

But she didn’t. Almost certainly influenced but what happend between her and Amaya. He she was shown mercy as well.

And I don’t think she decided that in the last second either. Her action is too quick for that. 

So she possibly cuts the chains, what’s next?

I presume that Karim gets angry at that. He looks displeased in this shot. 

He even possibly starts an argument with his sister right after she spared the human. Arguing how that is expected of her as Queen and that she has to think of her people first.

He angry now and is even starting to cast a spell with his staff. Maybe to attack Janai? Or maybe one specific person who influenced Janai alot the last 2 years? One very specifc human women?

Perhaps his cool/composed exterior was just an act? Mabye this trial is the one thing that was needed to push him over the edge and get him to snap?

The masked figures in the background seem not worried about what’s going on. Perhaps they’re in on it? It was all a plot against Janai?

Tell me what you think. If what I wrote down here at midnight even makes sense :)

This is random, but here’s the take that no one asked for on how (some of) the main cast of TDP would do playing Among Us.

Callum: As a crewmate, he’d spend a lot of time following other people around (mostly Ezran or Rayla) because of “the buddy system.” This almost always backfires on him because he’s so fixated on following them that he doesn’t finish his tasks. As an imposter, he relies a lot on the turning off the lights play.

Ezran: As a crewmate, Ezran gets his tasks done immediately and then decides to have some fun and pop out from around corners to scare people. As an imposter, he uses the vents a lot, and usually goes pretty undiscovered since everyone else is too busy blaming each other. If he’s feeling particularly mischievous, he has Zym walk around and look at everyone’s screens so he can see them.

Rayla: As a crewmate, she doesn’t like sticking with people, which becomes difficult when Callum insists on tailing her. She’s very quick to place blame on anyone she thinks is suspicious, and gets very defensive when someone blames her. When she’s the imposter, she almost always picks the exact worst moment to kill someone, then has to play the self-report game and bullshit her way through the emergency meeting.

Claudia: Not the best crewmate, she still tries to use the vents even when she can’t. Spends most of her time in the camera room. A great imposter, but she always kills Soren first, so it starts to get a bit obvious.

Soren: He’s got no idea what he’s doing, but somehow that works in his favor. Think of Markiplier playing among us, especially that one moment with “Did you kill Wade?” “No. Maybe, he might have deserved it.” In short, nobody knows how he does it, but he keeps winning.

Aaravos mirrors the people around him

Season 4 is taking too long to get here, so I'll share my headcannons with y'all!

I like to think Aaravos copies people's behaviours and manerisms in order to better manipulate them.

With Viren he's scheming and naturally villainous, with Claudia he's playful and likes to do tricks with dark magic, with Ezran he's more soft-spoken and crouches down a lot to his eye-level, with Rayla he's snarky and agravates her to fight him. (He didn't interact with the last 3, but you get my point!)

I just really want him to interact with other characters and also mirror

Callum and Rayla go on a quick trip to Xadia. Prior to leaving, Callum tells Ezran that he plans on proposing to Rayla on the trip. Unfortunately, Callum has a way of shoving his foot in his mouth... After trying to propose multiple times, failing miserably, and leaving Rayla very confused, they ends up coming home unengaged. Ezran, who is unaware of this, has prepared a surprise party. So when Callum and Rayla approach the castle gates, Ezran is standing excitedly under a large banner that reads, “Congratulations!”

Rayla (aware of what Callum is trying to do) plays along and acts like she doesn’t know. But after weeks of trial and error (and a lot of second hand embarrassment), she gives up on waiting and purposes herself.
