Not so good news...

My friend's yearling filly, Valencia, is sick. I was worried about her, as she's young and came off the range so has probably never been exposed. They took her down to quarantine last night. At this point, I'm not sure why they are bothering to do that, as all the horses have been exposed, but it is raining today, so at least she'll be out of that.

The last owner of the barn put a strict quarantine on the whole property when we had an outbreak, and only 3 horses got sick. This owner... yeah, nope.

Still keeping a close eye on my boy. I know he's probably got good immunity against this (strangles), but I still worry.

In his infinite kindness and care, Strangles swallowed one rat and then pushed the other rat toward Diana. The girl smiled and lifted the rat to her lips.

“Thanks, Strangles!”

Making a happy hiss, Strangles basked in the warm spring sunshine with Diana, both of them enjoying a rat.
