Trek Office: "Space Nookie"
Tumblr media
I had to do a *script writing exercise,* so I was like "what if I wrote a Star Trek TNG scene in the style of The Office/Parks and Rec" and it's BAD please help lol it's a lot of fuckery so I put it under the cut...and of course, it's nsfw because the plot is basically:

This was the story ouline for a TOS episode that wasn't produced ("The Aurorals"):
Story outlines by Frank Paris, dated 13 June 1968 and 20 June 1968. This story dealt with an alien race kidnapping Kirk, Spock and McCoy in order to use their genes to create a gene bank, providing a way to survive for their infertile species. Meanwhile, they replace the trio with android duplicates on board the Enterprise. The crew soon begins to suspect their fellow officers to be imposters, as they behave oddly and unlike their real counterparts, and form a mutiny against them.
They really thought "what if Kirk, Spock and McCoy had babies together?". Incredible.

since i'm once again on a TOS binge, here are some of my favorite Bill Thiess creations. truly the best to ever do it. the pink number from "Who Mourns for Adonias" that is only held up by the weight of the train??? sensational

after his death, Thiess's estate auctioned off a lot of these pieces and donated the money to charity. if you ever want to feel insane read the prices some of it sold for. that metallic halter top + cape fit??? $173. are. you. kidding. me.

This is my beloved SpyBoy. He is a very sick little dude. He was diagnosed with diabetes recently, which has resulted in half a dozen vet visits, an extended stay at the cat hospital, and seriously devastating vet bills.
My husband was recently laid off, and I'm disabled, so we currently have zero income and zero savings.
The vet has let us make partial payments, but the balance is coming due on the first.
Our gofundme is stalled out at $2700, and we need $5200 by January first, just to catch up with what we currently owe.
So I am going to start selling my treasures.
Starting with my signed script from Star Trek TOS, The Trouble With Tribbles. Today is Saturday, Dec 21, 2024. At midnight ET on Monday the 23rd, whoever has made the largest new donation to our gofundme will own this fabulous signed script, complete with a tribble doodle! Please help my SpyBoy if you can, and score yourself this little piece of Trek history! https://www.gofundme.com/f/save-spy-boy-urgent-medical-funds-needed

[Transcript [edited for clarity]:
First page:
Gul Dukat: None that I can think of. But if you across any, be sure to let me know.
In the background, O'Brien completes his work and enters the office.
O'Brien: The access codes provided by the Cardassian Central Command did the trick. The security program's been terminated, the Transporter suppression field's deactivated, and we've regained control of the computers. (to Dukat) You can beam out any time you like.
Gul Dukat: Excellent (a beat) Commander, before I leave, I was wondering if I could ask you a favor? If Mister Garak ever leaves Deep Space Nine… even for just a few hours… could you see to it that I'm notified. I would be… most grateful.
Sisko: (no way) I'm sure you would.
Dukat shrugs, then hits his communicator.
Gul Dukat: (to com) This is Dukat… energize.
Dukat beams out. Hold on Sisko and Kira, neither one of them sad to see him go.
Second page:
Kira: Maybe you two should settle this another time!
Gul Dukat: She's right. And believe me, Garak, that time is coming.
Garak doesn't look particularly worried.
Gul Dukat: (continuing, to Kira) Major, why don't you join me in the Commander's office?
Dukat heads for the Commander's office, but then stops himself.
Gul Dukat: Oh. I forgot - the replicator. Well, I suppose it's the least I can do.
He taps something into the replicator control panel.
Gul Dukat: (continuing) You can all rise now. You're safe… for the time being.
Everyone cautiously stands up. Dukat heads for the office and Kira follows him.
Third page:
Garak: Before accepting a level nine clearance, the computer will scan my DNA pattern to determine if I really am Dukat.
Dax: But what if we disconnect the internal sensors in Ops… so that the computer can't scan you?
Garak looks at her with sudden appreciation.
Garak: Beautiful and intelligent. (a beat) Tell me, do you eat breakfast, Lieutenant?
Dax: Excuse me?
Garak: My lunch calendar is full, but I am looking for someone to join me at breakfast. I'm sure the Doctor will tell you it's the most important meal of the day.
Kira: This is no time to plan your social calendar. Can you rewrite your access code or not?
Garak: It's certainly worth a try.
Garak begins working at the terminal. Dax heads for one of the bulkheads.
Dax: (to Kira) We can get to the internal sensors through this bulkhead. Disconnecting the sensor is a little complex, I better walk you through the procedure.
Kira follows Dax over to a bulkhead and removes one of the panels, revealing circuitry inside.

I treated myself to another DS9 script, for “Civil Defense.” This one has some of the revisions, so I could see some (but not all - some revisions are missing) of the progression of the episode. I love this. Here are some highlights, please forgive the mediocre pictures.
I think my favorite bit is that the episode originally had Dukat asking Sisko to tip him off when it might be a good time to murder Garak.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Garak, I like this description after Dukat’s threat.
Tumblr media
Garak originally had a line asking Jadzia to breakfast with him.

How is cthia pronounced? I'm sure it must have been said in the Spock's World audiobook, but I can't find it in any of the libraries to which I have access.
I always just pronounced it sort of "kuh-THEE-uh". Bearing in mind how severely I had to abridge the audiobook, I'm not sure it actually gets pronounecd there. Must check. :)
